Join here for the first time in the broadcasting booth. He is an internet and campus sensation and a basketball phenom, Nathan Furness. Welcome.

How you doing? I'm happy to be here. I'm excited to call a game. Charger basketball, we've been looking good recently. I'm hoping to get a big win here against Ashland, number two in the G-MAC. Big game year. Chargers just came off a win on Thursday at Finley.

Big game. It's good to see the boys getting out and playing well. So it's going to be a good matchup today. It's a little cold outside. Obviously, temperatures below negative 20, but we're feeling warm and happy and excited to watch some Charger basketball here today. Absolutely. As the guys are lining up right now to do the national anthem,

Nathan, who do you think is going to be one of our biggest impact players of today on both the Finley side and the Hillsdale side? Yeah, we're going to be looking fresh. Number three, Braylon Morris. He's been on the rise over the past few games, just absolutely showing his athleticism what he can do just as a freshman. So, you know, he's one of leg out for coming off the bench today. Hoping to see him do well. On the Ashton side of thing, he's number 20, Maseo Williams, Red Church Senior. He scored over 1,600 points in his time in college.

Dominant force, offensively, defensively. Those are the players we're lying out for today, for sure. Now we're lining up. We're to do an honor our Honor our nation and we are going to be saying the national anthem. As we honor those at home and abroad for the presentation of our national anthem. Is there about announcing starters? I think it's important, Nathan, that we point out how young this Hillstale college basketball team is. We have seen a lot of redshirt freshmen really rise up, especially with how many guys we graduated last year. I believe only Ashtonowski is the returning captain from last year's team.

And we see that. again brilliant Morris really stepping up it wasn't too long ago towards the end of uh 2025 we saw mevy absolute dominant game scoring almost 30 points so how do you think today how can we translate against a very old and mature uh ashlin team today what do you think is going to be the difference maker for a young team versus a very well been playing together mature team such as ashland yeah yeah And it's a really important thing to think about. And times this season when the Chargers have struggled, a lot of the time, it's been on the young players, both Brayland Morris and Paxton Gertz,

both true freshmen have been vital to this offense and sparking it off the bench. And frankly, when they've played poorly, this team has played poorly. So a lot's going to ride on their shoulders today. And it's nice to see just how comfortable they've been getting as the season goes on, getting more reps in game. So I expect, you know, big game today at home. They both came off of good performances at Finley. And so we'll hope to see them play well against a national team that's, like you said, led by a lot of guys that have been here for a long time.

They know what they're doing. They've been around the block. And yeah, you know, when you've played together for a long time and when you've kind of seen everything, experience is going to matter a lot in this game today. And for Braylon Morris and Paxton, Birch, you know, that's experience that you're going to get as you continue to go. but games like today are the one where you're going to gain a lot of experience, especially if you play well. So we'll be keeping an eye on them coming off the bench today. Absolutely.

The Chargers are currently without forward. Caleb Glazer right now, which is going to be really tough for the boards. However, Hillsdale does have the height advantage with their 610 C.J. Yarian. And right now we are calling out the Hillsville College Charger starters. Starting at guard, number two, Ashton Janowski. Another guard is a senior, Paul McQuinney from Ohio. Starting at 4 to Redshirt freshman Tommy Morgan is from Brunswick, Ohio.

At 4 to 6-6 redshirt freshman from Chicago, Garrett Bolte. And then to close it out, as Patrick just mentioned, forward 610 from Cleveland, Ohio, C.J. Yerian. He's going to have to be an impact player today as well. That's our starting line up for the Hills Hole Chargers today. Head coach for the Chargers is Kevin Bradley. This is his third season. Head coach for the Ashland Eagles is John Ellenwood. Starting for Ashland today, we've got number 20.

Michaela Williams, 23, Cooper Davis. Number two, Jordan Edwards. Number 22, Jason Moore. And number one, Jason Headline. Jason Moore number 22. Looks like this is his third game starting. So we'll see as they're out one of their starters right now. So we'll see how this goes today as we're lining up for the tip off.

Yerian and Williams under the jump ball. The jump ball goes up. Stipped backwards. In the hands of guard, Jordan Edwards for Ashen. He'll control the ball. We get underway here in Don Tippett, Arena. Top of the point. Right wing.

He'll hit it back up to Davis. Start a dribble Williams at the top of the key. Back to Edwards. Edwards, through the legs dribble. Working on Tommy Morgan. Into the post here for Jason Moore. He'll back down his defender, Bullse, kick it out. Williams is going to pump fake.

Take it on the drive, and he'll finger roll it in for two. Opening possession there. Bucket for the Ashton Eagles. It's 2-0 early on. Here comes McQuinney for the Chargers. He'll give it to Janikowski. Top of the key, Janikowski to Morgan, left wing. Morgan to the top of the key.

He'll dump it inside to Yerian, Yerian. Looks inside of Janikowski on the cut. On the block, little fadeaway, and he gets it to go. Janikowski with a nice-looking fade-away basket right there. Chargers tied up here early two to two. Nineteen minutes to go here in the first half. Edwards with the ball, dumps it off to Henlon on the corner. There's Morris.

Left wing for Edwards. Edwards, Edward's worth it now. Through the legs dribble. Gets to a spot on the block. Layup goes. Guarded there by Tommy Morgan. He was unable to do much. McQuinney's top of the key.

He gives it to Tommy Morgan. Morgan right wing for Yerian, who lobs it to the block where Morgan is. He pump-fix a couple times, kicks it back out. Yarin's going to try a three. Can't get it to go. Yarian actually hit two threes in the last game against Finley, something he hasn't done a whole lot this season, just his sixth and seventh makes of the season.

In between dribble here. Williams with the ball lays it off to Henlund who's got a free lane he scores easily three layups on the first three possessions for the Ashton Eagles Chargers got to pick up the defense here It looks like the inside penetration honestly

is going to be the biggest key Oh my goodness and as I'm saying this We get an and one shot from Janowski Yeah Janowski just You know got to a spot on the elbow elevated got foul Was able to get it to go anyway He'll get one free throw here Yeah like you were saying that you know

I mean, they're really getting inside. More so, this Charger defense is breaking apart. They're doing a great job on the perimeter, but they are completely falling apart, and Ashland is able to drive inside. It's really just been three dribble drives so far that has given the Eagles. They're six points.

Janowski hits the free throw, and the Chargers trail five to six here early on. Edwards, with it now. Williams, top of the key back to Edwards on the right wing. He'll face up his defender, dribble drive right. We're going to play some good defense here. Keen-T used the backdown, turns around, for a shot. He's going to kick it out. Edwards.

One more to Henlon. He's going to try three from the left wing, back rim, quartered by the chargers in Yerian. Janowski now on the runout. He's going to go all the way to the rim. Scoop. Unable to get it to go, rebounded by Henlon for Ashton, and we go the other way now. Kick outside to Davis. Davis is going to take it all the way to the rim and score easily. Eight to five now. With 17 minutes to go, Eagles in transition, get a bucket. That's four layups for them so far.

McQuinnie now with it. Right wing for Morgan. Bolte on the top of the key is going to go to McQuinney. Inside now Morgan. One more to Yerian. And he jams at home on the baseline. Really good passing there. Assisted by Morgan.

Off of a cut from the baseline. Yeah, and it was just unguarded there. Yerian throws it down easily in the charges trail by one here. A lot of scoring to open us up. Edwards with it now. Top of the key. It's going to dribble drive. Screen by Williams.

Now it's Davis on the drive. He'll pull up from the elbow. back rim rebound on my McQuinnie second stop for the Chargers and it's a big one now it's Morgan unguarded he's going to drive get to a spot in the middle kick it back out to Janowski now top of the key javsky dribbles left inside Yerian kicks it outside Morgan the corner three just short remuner by ashland kicks it out to Edwards and now he'll bring it up the right side average with her right wing top of the key now Kicks it outside to Henlon.

Henlon on the left wing, inside of the post up. That's more. Trouble drives, and he stepped out of bounds. Great defense from Garrett Bolte there for the Chargers. Big stop. In for the Chargers now, both of the freshman we talked about in the pregame packs of Gertz and Braylon Morris checking in, as well as Stonebreaker.

A Stonebreaker has been one of their best offensive players to play the year round, consistently in the top 15 for points scored, rebounds. He's going to be critical as the sixth man coming off the bench for the Chargers tonight Also winning for the Eagles Trent Minor. He's a red shirt freshman He's been getting some good minutes off the bench recently Janowski now on the right wing with it He's going to look inside for Bolte

Bolte is going to try a baseline jumper he gets it to go The Chargers take the lead 98, 9 to 8 here 15 minutes remaining here in the first half Now Hanlon brings the ball up on the left wing He's looking for Williams at the top of the key Williams yet Williams has scored just two points so far on one shot attempt

Now it's Davis inside He's going to go up and gets the layup to go They got a switch on Janowski And that's going to be a tough matchup Guarded the 6-5 physical big man Stuff for Janowski Now Stonebreakers got it Left wing for Janowski.

He's going to try three in and out. Rebonded by Henlon. Helon's going to bring it up ahead to Edwards now. Edwards on the drive. He's going to go for a live. He gets it to go easily. 12 to 9 lead. That's what Ashley is going to be exposing right now,

ladies and gentlemen, is that their older, more physical guys are able to overpower our chargers here. And we just saw that as Braylon Morris has got body. Morris tries a three from the corner. He gets it to go. Morris one for one and that's a huge start for the freshman

who's going to have to be big in this game and he makes right up for the lack of defense that he had on the baseline first offensive touch isn't afraid to try it gets it to go that's huge now the Eagles come down and the corner is Edwards

so we're going to get to Morris he's going to drive to his right post him up kick it back outside it's a minor Davis now with it he drives he gets a lane loses the ball briefly gets it back and he's blocked by Stonebreaker down low It was a good take, but he gets rejected. That'll take us to our first media time out of the game.

Why is it so hard? And I sympathize. There are a lot of exceptions to English grammar rules, probably because English is really just a compound of many different languages, and it's these exceptions that make the language difficult, although the actual grammar is relatively straightforward compared to many other languages. Don't believe me, consider Russian, and consider only nouns. Nouns can have three genders, which are completely unrelated to the object's actual qualities. There's no strict word order rule, so the main way to differentiate between different uses of nouns is by changing the endings, or sometimes the entire word.

There are six singular endings for each noun, gender, and six more for plural, adding to a grand total of 36 possible spellings that completely change the meaning of your sentence. Currently with 14 minutes left to go in the first half, we see that Hillsdale and Ashland are tied up 12 to 12. Ashland has the ball taking it out on their baseline. Yeah, they trigger it in Davis because it's an open jumper.

He's going to miss it. Stonebreaker with the physical rebound here. And he gets fouled by Tread Minor. He was trying to go for a steal after the rebound. That's the first foul of the game, I believe. It is the first. It's a single one, two, almost 70 feet away from your own basket. Morgan's going to trigger it in.

He finds McQuinnie. He's going to bring the ball up. We're seeing a little press here from the Eagles. Chargers deal with it easily McQuinney goes to Gertz back to McQuinney And now Gertz again back at the top of the key Giffon Morgan on the left wing Fond's McQuinnie kicks it to the corner

Morris tries another one And he hits it again Two for two from Braylon Morris From the same spot in that left corner And that's huge for the charges here early on Now Bo Siegfried who just Siegfried had just checked into the game as the ball

the top of the key left-hand dribble now Davis on the drive he's going to spin he loses the ball finds its way over to max Dawson retro freshman is in the game for the first time he's going to dribble to the left wing he's going to drive he has it stripped by McQuinnie grabbed by morgan who finds Gertz now Gertz is going to take it in transition gertz finds Morris Morris quick to trigger again in and out rebounded by max dawson Dawson will now bring it up five Siegfried. I absolutely love to see the confidence, Nathan, right now that we see right now from Braylor Morris,

as Ashland just scored. But the young guys right now stepping up defensively is absolutely critical. In this 15 to 14, Hill stills up against Ashland game. For sure. Morris has been quick to trigger it. Full of confidence so far on this one. Le Quentin will now drive it in from the left corner.

Free throw line, he kicks it out. Morgan drives, left-hand dribble, Stonebreaker, a corner three. And he gets it to go. Chargers finding fire from deep here early on. Taking an 18 to 14 lead here with 12 minutes to go. Sigfrey now with the right wing. Left hand dribble to the middle.

Tucks it underneath. That's a great pass and an easy finish for Moore. Sigfrey drove it all the way to the middle. Tracted the defense of Stonebreaker. And was able to find an easy bucket for Moore. Now Morgan up the court finds Gertz. Gertz kicks it to Morris. Morris top of the key.

Morgan with the right wing Stonebreaker got it in the corner a cut from Morgan right through the middle no defense from the Eagles easy finish there Tommy Morgan uncontested layup the Chargers take a 20 to 16 lead here 1130 to go in this first half

Sigfried will trigger it now from the top of the key he finds Davis on the left wing Davis will drive got rid of his defender now drives hard to the rim blocking foul he missed a shot on Stonebreaker I don't know about that call we

could have been a charge Maybe he was in the restricted area? I think they're going to rule he was in the restricted area on that one. But that should have been back-to-back offensive fouls. The rest are really letting him play today, which is good. You're just physical.

beyond the arc. They're shooting 3 for 7. Aschlin has yet to even hit a three-point shot. I think that's the reason why the score right now is 20 to 16 with Hillsdale off. Yeah, for sure. There's 11 minutes left to go in the game. In the half, pardon me. But Ashland 2, Nathan, they've been

dominating the rebounds. We talked about earlier that while we have the size, it looks to be that Ashland is getting better positioning on the rebounds, and that's going to catch up with Hillsville if this continues on. There's only so many times where you can hit all these shots. There's only so many you can knock down. But Ashland is able to get second, third-chance shots

because they're dominating the boards. Something that the charges need to fix ASAP. For sure, they've been dominating the pain as well. Cooper Davis at the line goes one for two. Now the charges will have the ball up three with 11 minutes to go. And for the game for the Eagles is Destin Logan. It's first time seeing the court today. McQueenie now has it.

He's going to go left-wing to Janowski. Morgan has it in the corner to Yerian. Yerian pump fakes and finds McQuinnie at the top of the key. Macquony will drive. Back down his guy. Pump fake. Find Yerian who finds Janowski. Now he's going to drive.

Shocklock running down. Yerian's going to fire up a three. He gets it to go. C.J. Yerian picking up where he left off from last. game, knacking down a triple just his ninth of the season. Chargers now four for eight from Deep. They take a six-point lead here. Williams is going to find Siegfried on the left wing. Siegfried dribbling. He's going to drive left. Working against McQuinney here. Stays on that left-hand dribble down the baseline. He throws up a right-hand hook shot and gets it to go.

It's a nice mood there from Jason. Excuse me from Boe Siegfield, the freshman out of Louisville. Janowski's now going to have the right wing. He's going to drive. Behind the back dribble, backs down his guy. Looking to get a fadeaway off here, he's going to kick it out. It's bolty with it now. He kicks it outside. Morgan's going to try a triple, just short. Rebounded by the Eagles.

Siegfried will now bring it up the court. He's going to screen from Williams. He's going to drive. Look for Williams now. He's been quite offensively so far. He's going to face up his guy's spin move, left-hand hook shot off the glass, in and out. It's good defense there from Yerian and stay straight up.

to defend the most dangerous play for the Eagles. Janasky now brings the ball up. Looking for McQuinney here on the handoff. He gets it over to Boltee, top of the key. Boltee finds Yerian. Yerian lobs it back to Bolte. Underneath, he's going to go up and get fouled by Logan. Two free throws now for Garrett Bullty.

And so far, something to note, Patrick, is Maseo Williams' only two shot attempts, one for two. He's been averaging just under 19 points a game. So it's important that the Chargers continue to keep him quiet as they have been so far. Yeah, CJ's doing a great job containing him. We saw on that last offensive possession that Williams had. I mean, he had to settle for a very contested turnaround hookshot. And eventually it went out.

I think the thing too I want to focus that worries me right now that I see from the Chargers is that they typically play a slow motion, methodical game. And it seems like everything that they're doing is just a little sped up to kind of the speed that we see at Ashland. And so Chargers are starting to get away from their game. We see that as there's missed shots, missed opportunities, and Ashton's able to capitalize. While Hillsdale is up 2419 is something that they cannot continue at this pace of play. For sure. Boltee goes one for two from the line, gets subbed out the Connor Stonebreaker.

Jordan Edwards also back in the game for the Eagles. He has it now on the left wing drives it. against Janowski throws up a right hand layup gets it to go from underneath the hoop again no threes from Ashton they're just getting and driving inside and that's something that you we need baseline help but dominated the pain so far with almost all their buckets coming through the layups Paxton Gertz back in the game now for the chargers he is it now looks the stonebreaker on the post number it goes to work puts up a hook shot and gets it to go working against the guard there Jordan Edwards that's a good matchup for the chargers you don't want to look for that one

Easy bucket there 27 to 21 lead now with 8 minutes to go Jordan Edwards now with the ball he finds Logan is sad who tries a jumper and gets it to go pretty uncontested there poor defense from the Chargers

their lead shrinks to four Stonebreaker now with it for the Chargers finds Yer in top of the key to the corner for Janowski who's going to drive try a layup and get it to go falls to the deck looks like he may have got foul no call there from the charges lead back up to six Edwards now with it he finds Henlon on the left wing top of the key for Edwards and now Christian Wilkins true freshman first time he's seen the floor touches the ball for the first time Jordan Edwards is now going to drive he gets doubled finds Williams he's going to give it back to him Edwards drives kicks it to the corner Logan with it now left hand dribble fade away from the baseline he gets it to go at the buzzer tough

shot there from Destin Logan that stroke has been looking good so far for him he's two for two on those mid-raged jumpers over the past few possessions Morris brings it up for the charges he finds Janowski on the left wing so as he will dribble top of the key for Yerian he's gonna lob it deep for Janowski underneath the hoop now working against Logan short three-foot fade he gets it to go so second time we've seen Yerian lobbing over the top find a charger deep underneath underneath the hoop in the paint and the charger scores 31 and 25 now for the chargers on top a dribble drive here for jordan edwards meseo williams touches the ball i got only two points for him edwards is going to

drive with his right hand to paxton gerts he goes up and he got fouled i think by cj yerry on there on the body it's a good take a good contest from the chargers they unfortunately did foul and we'll go to a immediate time out here is the chargers up 31 to 25 with 648 to go And so far, the start of the game has been the three balls for the Chargers, hasn't it? Absolutely. I mean, right now, if we're looking at it, they're four from nine from three, shooting just under 50%. Ashland still, they only took one three point this whole entire 14 minutes of play. Also, two, free throws has been a problem for Ashland.

They've missed half their free throws. And so that's where right now the Chargers are able to capitalize. While Ashland is still winning on the rebound side, again, the Chargers are just making their shots. Yeah. The Chargers have actually had more opportunity to score. While they're shooting exactly the same, the difference has been...

Has been the three-point ball. Yeah, four of our 12 makes have been all three-pointers. And so that's why we're up six points right now. Four for nine for the Chargers from three. Braylon Morris, of course, capitalizing on two of them. C.J. Yerian threw up that, that heave at the buzzer. And that's just this ninth three-pointer of the season. Patrick, pretty impressive from him.

He hit two the other night against Finley, something unusual for him, and it's another one today. But it's been Janowski who's been the constant presence for the Chargers so far. He's got nine points on four-for-six shooting, one-for-one from the free-throw line as well with that and one early on. And, you know, if he's going offensively and you've got Morris coming off the bench, this team's tough to stop offensively, especially when the three balls fall in the way it is. It's going to be important, though, that the Chargers continue to stop Williams. who's, of course, Bend the Eagles best player offensively all season.

Yeah, I mean, you're stopping the big man right now, and CJ's doing a great job. Well, CJ does have the height advantage. Williams cannot overcome that. What is worrisome for the charges is that we have zero offensive rebounds right now. Yeah. And so we've missed shots.

And so we're not able to get that second chance, so maybe the lead could be a little more. Who knows? And also too defensively, I mean, we're being dominated both on the offense. and defensive rebounds, yet we have the high advantage. So something that the Chargers are going to have to continue to prove if they want to continue to lead this game.

For sure. Jordan Edwards splits a pair at the line, cuts the lead to five now. Macquney will bring the ball up for the Chargers. Stonebrake goes to top of the key, finds McQuinn on the left wing. McCune will drive it now. Look inside for Yerian. Stad he goes to Morgan top of the key. He finds Yerian.

Now in the left corner. He's going to drive back down his man. kick it outside. McQuinnie pumpfakes, drives, kicks to Stonebreaker in the right corner for three. Back rim and out. Remodded by Jordan Edwards for the Eagles. He's going to bring it up. Now, top of the key.

He'll double drive. Left hand at Davis who drives. Takes out the rim. Air ball's a layup attempt there. Really good defense on the interior there from Stonebreaker. McQueen now brings it up. Takes a screen from Eerie and drives. Finds Morgan inside, who will throw it down. Really good cut. Second time we've seen Morgan cut through the middle. pretty much uncontested. This time he throws it home two-handed.

The Chargers take a 33 to 26 lead here with five minutes remaining in the first half. Great pass there from McQuinnie as well. Jordan Edwards and I was going to find Williams inside. Tux it inside, blocked by Stonebreaker. They're going to call a foul. Jason Moore was the eagle who had the layup attempt. Stonebreaker looked like he had a clean block instead. It would be two free throws for the Eagles. If you were able to review that, I think that would be a reviewable foul right there.

That seems like pretty clean, two hands up in the air. But doesn't go in the Chargers favor. But once again, it's a dribble drive that breaks down the Chargers defense and leads to an open layup that had to be contested from Stonebreaker from behind, and that's ultimately why the referees called the foul. Garrett, Boltey enters the game for CJ Yerian. Yerian's been giving some good minutes. This would be interesting to see right here that you still have Williams in for Ashland,

but you take out CJ Yerian. Now Ashland is going to have even more of a high advantage. which could be disastrous, rebounding-wise, and second-attempt-wise, for the Chargers. For sure. Moritz both free-fors on the line, customly to five. We're seeing some full-court press here from the Eagles. Chargers break it easily, and that leads to an open corner three for Morgan. Back rim.

And that's an offensive rebound for the Chargers. Morgan follows his own miss. First of the game. Janowski now with the Defiance McQuinney, his three-pointer well short. Rebounded by the Eagles this time. Jason Henlon brings the ball up. He's going to trigger it from the top of the key. Still with it.

He's headline. He finds Williams. Just Edwards at the top of the key. Now right wing, through the legs dribble. He spins. Pretty move there from Jordan Edwards, spinning to the middle, getting to a floater, and finishing easily.

33 to 30 now for the Chargers. The lead is cut to three. Janowski now will bring it up for the Chargers. Top of the key for Stonebreaker. Finds Morgan on the left wing. He's going to go to the top of the key for Boltie again. Sizes up as D. Fines, Stonebreaker.

Fax's man now nearly loses it. Eight seconds here on the shot clock as Bullty goes into post-up. Bodies his man, fades away, back rim, and out. Bordered by Williams. It's good defense there for the Eagles. As Henlon brings it up, he's going to go right week. He's going to drive baseline on McQuinney. Good defense there as he shuts him down.

He's going to throw to the corner now for Davis. Davis with it. He's going to drive baseline, kick it out. outside for Williams. It triggers it back to Edwards top of the key. Edwards will dribble dive, pump fake. Find Henlon who drives baseline, kicks it outside to Williams. Williams is going to try three.

That's back iron. Rebounded, though, by Jason Moore for the Eagles. He's going to go up and score. Another offensive rebound for the Eagles leads to an easy bucket. And Charger head coach, Kevin Bradley, has seen enough. He calls a timeout. Lead his cut to one. It's been the offensive rebounds here for the Eagles.

That's been getting an easy bucket so far. Yeah, I mean, what have we been saying in the last 17 minutes is that we cannot get a rebound. We can't even buy a rebound right now. And the thing is, the offense a rebound that we got came from Tommy, who boxed out the big man Williams. But Williams has been quiet on the offensive rebound side. It has been all the other role players of Ashland that have been picking up the slack. For sure. We're getting dominated on the rebounds.

That's just a matter of fact. and now the game is 33 to 32, Hillsdale's only up one point. For sure. And the Chargers have, getting dominated offensively in the pain so far, which is not a good sign for the future, considering they're shooting the three ball the way they are.

They're going to need to find some ways to score inside. So far, 12 of their 33 points have come from beyond the arc. With Ashton scoring all of theirs, for me that the free throw liner inside the arc. It's going to be interesting to see here how that, the matchup between the three-point game with the two-point game continues here.

Chargers are going to need to keep shooting it well if they're going to want to stay in this one because they've been unable to guard the Eagles from inside the pain so far. Seems like the Eagles are kind of getting whatever they want offensively into pain. Just haven't been able to capitalize in all their attempts.

Yeah, and the Chargers, the Chargers. Taste to play has been heating up, but their shots have been icing out. They are not hitting their shots. They fell from a, what was a 45% three-point shooting. They're now down to four. For 12, 33%.

Only making a third of their shots right there. That is not good if they want to maintain a lead, which they don't really have right now. The charges were four for eight. They're not four for 12 after missing their last four attempts from the end of the arc. Janowski now brings it up. Again, some more full-core pressure from the Eagles, which is dealt with handily by both Gertz and Janowski. Janowski now has it top of the key, finds Yerian. Hearn's going to dribble, hand it off to Janowski,

who drives with his right hand, gets by Williams, goes in for a reverse layup. And finishes, that's a pretty move there from Ashton Janowski. Gets around the big man Williams and finishes easily. Henlon now brings it up for the Eagles. Looks to Williams on the left wing. Williams to Siegfried. Sigmund is going to find Davis.

Davis over to Henlon on the left wing. He dribble drives with his left hand. Finds Williams on the ebo. Williams drives against Yerian. Throws of a floater. Difficult shot. I don't know if you caught anything there. And the rest are going to say that it was blocked by Yerian.

Didn't look like he touched it to me. And Yerans told me he didn't touch it either. So the ball went out of bounds. However, it is going to be Eagles ball underneath the hoop. Triggered in by Bo Siegfried. Davis trying to get open. Looks like he got fouled by Morris coming around the screen. Bell, Donald Turner, number three, Braylorice.

This is a big. It's Morris's first foul of the game. It's nice to see him being aggressive defensively, though. A couple subs for the Eagles. Into the game comes Max Dawson, as well as Trent Minor, who's seen some minutes for the second time this game. They'll trigger it into Minor now. He's got it at the top of the key.

He finds Edwards now. Edwards dribble drives with his right hand. He finds Dawson on the drive just into the game. He drives on his left hand and finishes easily. Once again, some easy. Point to the paint there for the Eagles. Lead is now down to 1.35-34 with two minutes to remain here in the first half. Holti finds Gertz on the left wing.

Janowski now on the elbow. Outside of Morris, he pump fakes. Sizes up his guy, drives with his right hand, throws up a layup. Unable to go, rebounded by the Eagles. First miss of the day for Morris. Trent Minor now with it. He drives. He sits outside to Dawson.

Dawson now with it. He scored on the last position. He finds Williams inside. he's going to spin off of Gertz throw up a floater, he gets his go and the foul a mismatch there inside with the freshman Gertz trying to guard the big man Williams

support the five inch size difference there is not the matchup you won. Gertz fouled and a lalby bucket there and the Chargers lead has vanished. They now trail by one with two minutes to remain. 36, 35 in this one.

And again, it's been points in the pain for the Eagles, Patrick, hasn't it? They just be getting what they want. They have completely dominated the interior. They are shooting 67% from the inside. And they're also getting a boatload of second-chance shots. They don't on that one as Williams misses the free throw and the rebound goes to Yerian.

McQuinnie now brings the ball up for the Chargers. He finds him Morris on the right wing. Morris is open. He's going to fire up a three. He gets it to go. Brayland Morris, three for three from beyond the arc to start this one. The Chargers take a two-point lead. Boy, it's good to see him shooting with some confidence early on.

Absolutely. It is great to see him, especially since this is his third three of the game. He's shooting, he shot three for four, coming in with nine of Hills, so's 38 points. And the Eagles turn it over. Dawson tried to catch a pass from Edwards. It was a bit too hot, out of bounds. Second turnover of the game for the Eagles. Now McQuinnie with it.

We'll bring it up. McQuinnie been quiet in this one so far. because he has yet to score he's a attempt a shot actually normally a vital part of this offense now bolts he's going to be at the top he's going to find Janowski on the right wing Janowski drives behind the back droble he spins

he dances he fades and he gets it to go Ashton Janowski he's got 13 here in the first half he's been dominating offensively so far Chargers up four with a minute to play here in the first half Eagles now with it

corner for Edwards he's going to drive all the way scoring easy layup Another layup, seemingly uncontested for the Eagles. And boy, this has been a high scoring first half as the Eagles called 30 second time out here. 40 to 38. It's a minute to play.

Both teams shooting very well from the field so far. It's impressive. I mean, what a move from Ashton. Yeah. It comes right, checks into the game, and immediately hits a tough shot. Same with Braylon Morris. Ashton is actually tonight in the first half.

He's the leading score with 13 points. the second leading score is for Ashland, which is the Jordan Edwards number two. He's got 11 points right now. So our number two is beating their number two. It's great to see. And then Braylon Morris also to the freshman that we have mentioned time and time again as a vital person to this defense coming in off the bench. Coming in three, threes, all that critical moments.

Yeah. I think all three of his threes have either led to tying or lead changes in our favor. Yeah, and he's been shooting with a lot. of confidence and that's good to see from a true freshman at any point in the season but especially at this point midway through the season he's just seeming to find his groove into being what i believe could be a superstar in this league one day but again like i mentioned earlier the eagle's shooting 68% from the field charges close behind it just under 60% both teams lighting it up so far in this game looks like we see a full court press that ashton has switched into with there's 30 seconds left to go

in this half we'll see what hills though can do can they maintain this league going into the half. McQueen went out at the top of the arc. He's going to dribble drive. Find Morris, who's at the hot hand. He dances against his defender, pulls a mid-range jumper. Oh, my, what a beautiful play.

Crossover, stepback against Maseo Williams. Probably the best defender for the Eagles. That was an unbelievable move by Morris. Boys, he looked good so far this game. Three seconds remain now for the Eagles. It's more with it. He dribbles. He's unable to get a shot off.

Just lost the ball. What a great end to the half. And that'll take us to the half. Chargers lead 42 to 38 here. Braylon Morris just been lighting it up from any spot on the court. He seems to just be able to get the shot off anywhere. It's definitely the story of the first half as we'll go to a break here with Chargers up for. Yeah, that was great. Great play.

Ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM. What an astounding first half. I mean, just to battle back and forth, we've seen the chargers dominate from the three-point line. We have seen the Ashland hold steadfast on the rebounds.

As we look at the halftime stats, we have our very own. Ashtonowski, going six from eight for the field goal, being our leading. of the first half versus the national leading score was Jordan Edwards with 11 points. Yeah, for sure. And I think definitely the story of the first half, though, is fresh from Braylon Morris. We mentioned him in the pregame as an impact player, someone who's been on the rise for the Chargers. He played just 11 minutes in the first half.

He scored 11 points going three for four from three. And he looks comfortable out there. He looks happy, looks excited. And he's also playing some really good defense as well. He seems to beat the Chargers best defender guard-wise, at least. been able to keep both Henlon and Edwards in check for the most part when he's been on the court. But a high scoring affair for sure, 42 to 38. It's a lot of scoring on both ends. Both teams shooting over 60% from the field. Chargers shooting 5 for 13 from 3. The Ashlyn Eagle is something to

keep it on. I've not yet made a 3. They've only attempted 2, just 0 for 2. It's clear they're not looking to score from distance early on. But it's something they've done all season. though. You know, they've averaged shooting just over 30% from three, which is pretty good. And at Davis Cooper, who's, or Cooper Davis, one of their leading scores, you know, he's been shooting the through ball really well this season, averaging, or shooting over 33%. And he's not even attempted to three. So it's clear that their emphasis has been get the ball inside and do that often.

And they have been, quite frankly, they've seemed to get whatever they want. want it inside. So it'll be interesting to see here if they continue to do that or if they try to hit a couple shots from outside. Yeah, it's been really their big men that have attempted the shots from beyond the yard. Hopefully at the halftime, the Chargers talked about what's going on with the rebounding. I mean, this game has been way closer.

It's had way too many lead changes than absolutely necessary. And that all comes down to rebounds, win games. Defense win championships. Those are chargers looking to hold on to their four-point lead and hopefully ultimately the win, going above 500 in the conference. When they currently sit towards the bottom at 5-5, while Ashman sits up the top at number two in the conference.

A win like this and a string of win streaks in their conference could mean good positioning, ultimately for the playoffs, but also to a good end to conference standings. It's a big game for the GMAC for sure. Like you said, Ashton's at second. Right now, six and four. The Chargers just behind, though,

five and five. If they're able to win this game, they could be in second place in the GMAC, which, of course, we'll be trailing Walls, Tuesday, and two by quite a bit. But this is a big second half here. Chargers up 42 to 38. And we are underway's.

Boltie triggers it in to McQuinnie. We'll not bring it up to the top of the key. McQuiney scoreless in the first half, something to keep an eye on for him as well, who's only an integral part of this offense for the Chargers. He's going to drive it. He kicks the Bullseye underneath who gets fouled. Going up for a layup.

He looks a little shaken up. He seems to be doing okay. Yeah, we'll definitely be wanted to keep an eye on Cole McQuinnie. As I mentioned, he's scoreless in this game. He's only tempted one shot. Yeah, he hasn't even really been trying to get involved much. Of course, he's a senior. He's been around the program for a while.

Coach trusts him. But you'd like to see him get a little more. involved offensively here. Yeah, I mean, he's been honestly the best playmaker, and while he hasn't made up for scoring, he has made up by leading assist right now

in the entire game of four assists. I mean, that's honestly where Cole's biggest strength is, is that he is just going to be getting the ball into the right people's hands. Obviously, he's not right now being a scoring threat, but he is 100% on the defensive side and the playmaking side. For sure.

Such a big contribution. And you know he two to three whenever. Boltie knocks down both free throws and gets a steal on the other end. Chargers up six here early on. It's a really good defensive play there from Garrett Boltee who just double teamed on the blind side and was able to take the ball away. Chargers now with it. Janakowski on the right wing he's going to drive with left hand gets tied up, loses it, gets it back, kicks it outside to Bolte, top of the key. Jab step, he's going to try a difficult jumper, elevates over Williams and gets it to go. That was a tough shot. Looks like he might have got foul too. Top of the key jumper.

I think about a 15 footer. Elevated up and got it to go. It's a big shot there and the Chargers taking an 8-point lead early on here in the second half. Now a drive on the other end from Edwards wasted no time getting to the rim again. Poor defense by the Chargers and there's a foul. Interesting.

I wonder if they're going to call a shooting foul. It looks like... It looked like Jordan Edwards was a little banged up and the coaches wanted a headline to foul so we didn't have a four a five and four advantage for the charges there again Cole tried to get the shot up

because he saw they were going to file but he did not get it up in time and the rest having a good laugh about that they are Boltey already he only had four points in the first half and he's turned around and now he's already got three because he missed that free throw so Bolte already

getting some Askin which is good I think he has four I think he scored all four My apologies. I think he's made on me. Janowski now with he he's going to elevate. He's going to find Yerian. Pretty move from Janowski. He pumped fake through the defense, kicked it out to a wide open Yerian who finishes

easily uncontested. The Chargers up eight here. So start the second half. They're looking good on offense so far. Henlin now went to the top of the key for Moore. Moore will find Sinkfried in the game for the first time. Moore now drives and is rejected by C.J. Yerian on the fast break.

Janowski to Morgan. Morgan Leigh up. Gets it to go! And the foul. Tommy Morgan in transition from Janowski. The Chargers are looking good here to start the second half. A block from Yerian, absolute rejection. They go out and transition. They get the runout.

Ashton's going to call a timeout here to start with the second half as they should. What a start here for the Chargers. I mean, it's absolutely electric. It started off. CJ Yerian, I mean, hitting a great layup after a wide open kickout with the Ashton hat. turns around defensively holds his ground doesn't jump doesn't fall gets a good clean block ashton again being a playmaker and being a captain and leader of this basketball team

pushes in transition for a wide open Tommy Morgan who gets it beautiful and won we'll see right now there's been a timeout called Ashland wow this is not the same the first two minutes that we saw of the first half is not this it's completely different than the two minutes that we're seeing right now. I mean they started off this game hot. They're coming in hot, they're playing aggressive, they're dropping in a man, and now they're drop back, they're playing a zone. Their number two, their point card just got hurt, so that's not good to see. I mean, he hurt his wrist, it looks like. It looks like he had his finger, but it looks like he's going to be coming back in the game here. He looks wrapped up. Yeah. So he might be coming back in the game.

He's not sin right now, so he's definitely sent off for the next couple minutes, but. Yeah, and that's Jordan Edwards is the leading score for the Eagles. He's got 11. That's And the next leading score is Jason Moore's got six. So he's important to be on the court. He seems to be given wherever he wants, dribble on the ball, get into the rim. But the charges look great. He will not be coming out for this time out, actually.

So he may still be injured. Morgan's going to have one free throw from that N1 here. Morgan with four points, both on layups so far. I think he's got six, actually. Can make that seven if he hits this one. Back rim and out. He does not. We rebounded by Moore. Stingford will bring it up for the Eagles.

Trailing 10 here with 18 minutes to play in this second half. Williams with it on the top of the key. It's been quite offensively this game. Despite being the leading score for the Eagles on the season. Last win for Dosty, he's going to find Williams. He's working against Yerian. Gets to his spot, right-hand hook. And that's the leading score that we see right there.

Off the back of the rim and in, yeah. Got to his spot and got it to go. It wasn't bad defense there from Yerian. Difficult shot, but he made it look easy. Just better offense. McQueen out with the baseline for year and he kicks it inside

Boltzay on the cut gets the layup to go plus the foul what a pass there from Yerian and again it's a cut for the Chargers right to the middle of the court

poor difference from the Eagles Chargers back up 10, 52 to 402 here with 17 minutes to play I mean we've been focusing on Ashton and Coles our two guards

we've been focused on their playmaking but look at T.J. Yarian I mean all game today he's been hitting wide open cutters over the top using that height advantage and now assisting his teammate into getting an N1 as Garrett Boltee knocks down his free throw bringing Hillsdale's lead from 53 to 42. Boltey knocks down the free zone of a stretch to lead to 11. That's his 11th point of the game.

There's going to be foul called against Yerring and you try to go for a steal against Williams. They're going to say he reached in beforehand. Williams really selling that foul. Yeah. It's going to be Yerian's second foul the game. Both Stonebreaker and Gertz as well with two. Not much foul trouble though for the Chargers. The discussion here for the refs, I'm not sure what they're talking about.

We'll be triggered in here by Sigfried. Another foul is called. I think this one's going to go against Janowski. They're going to say he reached in before the inbound pass. Interesting. A bunch of fouls called early here against the Chargers. But again, they haven't been in foul trouble. There weren't many fouls called in the first half at all.

Now it's going to be Davis. He's top of the key. Looks to Williams, tipped away by Yerian. Behind the back dribble, and he lost it. Yeah, that big guy is not going to be dribbling the court like that. Probably needs to find a guard. He got a steal and was feeling himself, try to go behind the back and just threw it straight out of bounds.

I mean, I love the intensity for the big man. Yeah. You can see he was frustrated. But that's what you need to see, especially when you're going against one of the best scores in the whole entire G-MAC, which is founded number 20 Williams. For sure.

Williams has the ball now. He's going to find Dawson. Dawson back to Williams inside. That's a great pass. And the layup goes for Williams. We said it was quiet in the first half. He's come alive so far with his two, making his first two shot attempts in the second half. He's now got eight in the game. And the Eagles trail by 9. 53 to 44. Shnashky's going to find the Morgan up to bolte at the top of the key. He size up the defense, Fond Janowski. On the elbow. Janowski goes to work.

Looks to fade. Almost to fade. the ball away. Finds this way to bolt a he's going to size up his guy. Jumper back room. No, McQuinney, the offensive rebound. He looks to go back up. He gets blocked by Sigfried. Great defensive play there from Sigfried. He's going to be the ball up now. Macquney got the rebound, tried to go back up. Was it unable to do so. Williams now with it. It's been the hot hand for the Eagles here in the second half. Finds his way over to Dawson, who drives against Morgan, draws a foul. Tommy Morgan there just a little slow to slide his feet defensively.

Good pressure there from Dawson as well. It's a third foul already for the charges here in the second half. Into the game for the charges. Both true freshmen. Morris and Gertz. Again, Morris, story of the first half with 11 points. He was very confident shooting the ball from anywhere on the court. Three three-three-pointers went as well as a difficult step-back mid-range.

He only missed one shot, which was a desperation three-pointed at the end of the shot clock. hopefully he can be a force offensively in this half as well off of the inbound Cooper Davis gets all alone and finishes easily to cut the lead to seven for the charges 53 to 46 here 16 minutes remain Bolte brings it up throws it away stolen by more on the other end he'll throw it down with two hands and head coach Kevin Bradley has seen enough he calls a time out just a poor pass there from Boltee and that's That's just the Chargers' second turnover of the game.

They had zero in the first half. But two so far already here, four minutes in, and we'll go to our first media timeout. Like Nathan said, we're heading off to a break. Your Hillsdale College Chargers, right now, unfortunately, a little bit of momentum shift. As Aschelin has picked up a couple quick points back to back to back. Bringing their leave, which was a 10 point. Now it is only 5.0. Hillsville's currently up 53-48 with 15 minutes and 44 seconds left to go.

They're inbounding the ball right now. We're seeing more full-court pressure from the Eagles. They've got to steal off the inbound. Lay it in easily. Freshman Paxton Gertz there, freshman decision there. Try to cut to the ball and just kind of let it go straight into the hands of the Eagles. They cut the lead to three here. It's an easy bucket out of the timeout.

Not what you want to see for your Chargers fan. I'll have to see if they can break this press a little easier. Janowski's going to throw a difficult pass at stolen by Dawson. Dawson all the way to the rim. He lays it in easily in transition. The lead is cut all the way to one just like that. Another turnover for the Chargers. Again, they had zero in the first half, and they've had four already

through just four minutes of play here in the second. And they've all led to buckets for the Eagles, capitalizing on those mistakes. We thought rebounds was going to be the difference maker. Look at turnovers. I mean, they've scored eight points off turnovers, back to back to back to back. cannot happen, especially if they're holding on two playoff.

Chargers are going to have to do a better job, taking care of the ball here. Janowski inside, he's going to hit a 10-foot fedaway jumper goes. That's his spot. Janowski, another bucket now, leading score of the game with 15 points. And the Eagles have the ball now. Trailing three. It's Dawson who will drive. He looks inside.

Moore working against Stonebreaker kicks it out to Cooper Davis Dave's going to dribble through the legs he's going to drive the right hand all the way to the rim lays it up off the rim misses got his own rebound puts it back up and misses again Moore he's gonna

he's gonna score and get fouled two offensive rebounds there for the big man inside for the Eagles more's gonna have a chance to tie this game up unfortunately Hillsel has a really small lineup we see that as Col McWitty and CJ Yerian are checking Yeah. To get the height end. I mean, we only had kind of Stonebreaker, the only guy over 6'5 on that whole entire lineup real quick.

Stonebreaker was in the game East 6'7, but some of the other guys, a little taller there for the Eagles. And we saw that right there. They're able to get two offensive rebounds, and it led to not only a score, but additionally too, it led to now a made free throw. Jason Moore knocks down the free throw. This game is tied at 55. We've got a good one on our hands here. Don Tibbetterina. The press is broken easily this time by Stonebreaker.

He'll kick it back out to Janowski, who drives the top of the key. Finds McQuinney. Get McQuinnie quite offensively this game. See if you get it going here. That's a good drive for his right hand. Kick it out to McQuiny inside. Yarian, try to catch it with one hand. He lost it.

That's a fifth turnover of the half already for the Chargers. Unable to keep the ball. It's problematic here. I think an absolute misholding call there was. I mean, CJ couldn't even get two hands. Looked like his hand may have been held a little bit. Maybe a pass interference there. Either way, it's the eagle's ball here.

Cooper Davis with it. Looks inside to Moore. Moore's going to dribble against. Urien blocked off the glass. I didn't think of a foul. Not sure about that one, Patrick. A late? Late.

I mean, late Paul. Yarian blocked Moore off the glass, kind of baited him into a layup attempt. Looked like he had the ball. Was going the other way. The foul was called late. it's a small place like that where a call doesn't go your way that's going to be the difference maker of this game 100%.

This is where there's been a couple you could argue miss calls, a couple things that you wish would have gone your way on the calling side, foul side. That if those go your way, you've got a way bigger lead. But now as we see, number 22 for Ashland just hit both of his free throws, changing the possession lead. Jason Moore knocks down both. three throws. They now lead 57 to 55. They're on a 17 to 4 run. This game was 51 to 40 and just

like that the charges chill by it too. See if they can get something going here in the second half. Stonebreaker at the top of the key. He's going to look right wing to Yic to McQuinney. Quine looking inside. He finds Janowski. Janowski back to the basket. Jabstaping, looking for something. He finds McQuinnie's going to try deep three off the rim. Rebounded by Yerian. Chargers will get a second chance here as they reset it with Janiceki up top. They find Morris, left wing, three ball. Back room and out. Man, everyone is cold right now.

We've got two, three-pointers. Good looks for the Chargers, neither of them go. Now with the Eagles ball. Stick free is going to look underneath. That's Jason Mori. He's uncontested. He scores a lay-up easily, and the Chargers now trill four. It's the 19-to-four run here for the Eagles.

Chargers got to get something going offensively here. They've struggled in the half court this half. Yeah, I think the biggest thing is that Ashland is switching up their defense. They're going, man, on one side. They're going a three-two zone. Then they're flip it to a two-three zone. We've seen a one-three-one and man and a two-three. Yeah, I mean.

All of a sudden, if you're hitting your shots, you're causing turnovers, you're getting a bunch of rebounds. I mean, you're dominating both the defensive and offensive rebounds.

That leads you to win the game. That leads you to all of a sudden overcome a 17-point deficit or more. And that's something that the Chargers can't get offensive rebounds. They're obviously lacking in size. I don't know why they're not putting Stonebreaker and Yarian in at the same time. I don't know the coaching game plan. But you need to start getting size. You need to switch something up because,

So, is continuously throwing something different at you. Like we said, you're throwing a one-three-one defense, a two-three-one, a three-two. Then all of a sudden, the switch of the man, they're doing a full court press. They're doing a three-quarter press. They're just picking guys up a half-court press. Every single solitary time, you see the one guy, you've got the captain on the team, the floor commander, and he's going up to his teammates saying, hey, get into this. Each possession is different.

We haven't seen a lot of that of this game. Eagles were able to get the ball inside regardless. I do think it's a good move considering the Eagles have yet to hit a three in this game. You might as well pack it in the paint and hope they can't score from outside. Yeah, I was really shocked at the switch. They were in a 3-2 zone and then they had Tommy Morris down on the block. So you had a tall guy and a guard on the block. I didn't really like to see 3-2, but we'll see what the coaching is.

If I'm coach Bradley, I'm going to be playing the zone the rest of the block. the way out here. Make them beat me from deep. They've shot just two. They haven't made one yet. And that's where you want to see two, three, or honestly a one through one. For sure. A good thing to help with the inside. One for two from the line goes Williams. under Ashton's pressure that they have been showing. They were up by 11, and six turnovers followed. Another interesting thing to keep an eye on is the three-point ball in this game. Again, the Chargers had come out early firing. They had four in the first four minutes, and since that point, four minutes to go in the first half, there are four minutes into the game in the first half, we've seen just one three-pointer made.

Remember 25 minutes deployed by both teams. Three ball is just not part of this game at all. This game is one inside. And the pain. Well, this is the number two rank G-Mack, Ashton, that we expected to see. I mean, they started off really slow, but look what happened. Yeah. I mean, they heat it off really, really quickly.

And it'll be interesting to see how chargers get more people like Cole McQuinnie in how we get Burrell and Moore's at backup heating. Ashton Jannowski just rechecked in the game. So we'll see what impact he has, considering he's now in foul trouble. Janowski playing with three fouls. He's the leading score for the charges. You like to see him get involved offensively. He nearly loses the ball here.

He finds Stonebreaker on the corner. He's going to call offensive foul against him. It's good defensive play from Williams there. Got his feet set, took the charge. Unfortunate for sure, but a good play regardless. And again, you'd like to see either McQuinnie or Morris get involved offensively here in the second half. Both of them held scoreless.

We need to see more of that as Bolte misses the first three throw. But again, like we said, Williams, of course, been in Aschon for a while. It's been, you know, the leading score for them. Yeah, we've, I've seen him my whole entire time here at Hillsdale.

But he's been quiet. Only 12 points, only 5 for 9 from the field. Not a terrible game from him, but he picked up earlier in this first half, but then he really slowed down now. You'll see if Garrett will be able to tie this game up as he is, as he knocks down. Hillsdale. It's the second one, and we've got to tie ball

You're going to go back to Williams against Yerian. This is the match we've been talking about. He's going to post up left hook. And then out again, another great defensive possession there from Yerian. And they're going to call a foul on the offensive rebound. Against the McQuinnie, I believe.

It looks like he tied him up cleanly, but... Yeah, it looked like this should have been a jump ball, but the crowd definitely not super happy with that. Because they call a hold. It's the 11th foul of the half against the Chargers. Questionable call, to say the least. That'll give Davis a chance. But he's in the double bonus now.

Double bonus now. It's two free throws. He can, you know, everyone can have relaxed on the first. You know, I... Nathan, I struggle with that call, I have to say. That looks pretty clean. It's a tough one for sure. I mean, Cole made a good defensive play.

I mean, the defender brings the ball down. He's got it in his hands. Cole goes and grabs it. And, well, he missed the shot, so ball doesn't lie. Ball doesn't lie. The old adage says. Yep, exactly. So, as the basketball proverbs says.

I only committed three in the first half, though, so it's definitely interesting to see the whistle for the referees get a little hotter when the game's in the line. Yeah. It's hard to criticize him with his passing how good it's been this half, but that was not a good one. Back to Work those Williams again into Yarian. Pumpfakes. Oh my goodness. I don't even know if he was jumping another foul called 12th of the half. The only thing committed on that was CJ falling for the pump fake. Yeah. He turned around and he kept his hand straight up. He just turned around because he fell for the pump fake. And ladies and gentlemen, that is a foul somehow. Another thing to note is that's CJ's fourth foul, so he's going to have to come to the bench here. five minutes remaining so he's probably going to be back soon but CJ's been the main defensive

fouled with a very obvious. I mean, Brailin was he was near the half-core line, almost an over and back call. That's what the Eagles wanted. Instead, it's a foul against Dawson who pushed him that way. We'll be a one-on-one here for Morris. A big, big one-on-one here. Five minutes remaining trailing two. If you can knock down both of these to tie the game,

And I sympathize. There are a lot of exceptions to English grammar rules, probably because English is really just a compound of many different languages. And it's these exceptions that make the language difficult, although the actual grammar is relatively straightforward compared to many other languages. Don't believe me, consider Russian and consider only nouns. Nouns can have three genders, which are completely unrelated to the object's actual qualities. There's no strict word order rule, so the main way to differentiate between different uses of nouns is by changing the endings or sometimes the end. entire word. There are six singular endings for each noun, gender, and six more for plural, adding to a grand total of 36 possible spellings that completely change the meaning of your sentence.

Especially Braylonmore. who had a very hot half, first half, but now has only been held to two points off of free throws this half. So now she's going to drive, kick it out to McQuinnney.

He pump fakes, drives against Williams, seem to lose his footing, gives it to Stonebreaker, who tries to jam and gets rejected by Williams. What a block from Williams on that play. You know, that was a Hillsville guy blocking that would have been a foul. Probably based on what we've seen this half. It's a good play regardless. A transition bucket. That's not a good shot in the corner. It breaks off. And you're going to need to stop here if you want to win this one. Yeah, this has been a tough half for the Chargers. They started off really strong. First half, had a great momentum shift. Three ball just has not been falling since the beginning of the game. Literally nothing has been falling their way.

They can't get anything. There's another foul called against Stonebreaker after reaching it against Williams. Williams is going to go to the line. That's a frustration fall right there. For the fifth time this half. And he's not been shooting well, only three for seven. No, that's the right guy to fall right there. He's going to be in the double bonus, though.

He's going to be shooting two. And they trail by six here with 242. Both teams are going to head to their benches as it looks like somebody called time out. I think that was a probably it was a we thought that may have been a 30 second timeout that coach called which is good you got two minutes and 42 seconds left to go in this game and you have to change something's got to change offensively they're throwing up threes and we mentioned them hitting four threes early in the game they've hit just one since then once you're hearing checks back into the game that's he does with four fouls again he's been guarding williams all half and he's going to have to do so here file free the last two possessions. Again, foul free. Williams from the line. Again, we said he's not been shooting well, only 50% from the line this game.

Three for six. He knocks down the first. It's a big one. That extends the lead now to, you have to seven points. 73 to 66 here. Williams has now got 16 in the game. He's averaging 20 on the season.

I mean, CJ has done a great job working with one of his guards in order to find an open cutter and they need to work on that two man. Cole McWinney, we talked about

He's been a great free throw shooter this whole entire year. He's only missed it. I think I can only count him on one hand. He's shooting 80% from the line. He knocks down the second. Chargers cut the lead to five here, 73 to 68, 2 minutes 20 seconds to go. It's a big possession here for the Chargers defensively. They're going to need a stop here, and then some quick buckets here if they want a chance.

but you can't blame all that on things not going your way. The thing that you could have controlled was getting rebounds, and that Hillsdale did not get. So now he throws up a three. He misses a year and falls with the rebound and scores it. Edwards is going to jump a little front court. He's going to get foul, but this game is over, ladies and gentlemen. 82 to 72 with 17 seconds left to go in the Chargers trail.

Charger fans are heading for the exits here on this cold Saturday afternoon. It's tough to see, Nathan. It really is tough to see, especially with us being Hillsdale, boys. I went for the Eagles. I was going to boost them to 13 and 6 overall 7 and 4 in the conference. It's going to secure their spot as second. the G-Mac, trailing just Walsh. Hoseill will fall to 5 and 6

with a loss in the conference, 8 and 11 overall. Just there is a third home loss of the season, though. This one's going to hurt a little bit. Yeah, and here's the thing. You already know you're in a position where you're not going to finish at the top of the conference. But what you want to try to secure is a playoff spot.

Yerian. Euryin looks for an outland pass. He's going to throw that one way over the head of of Janowski. And I was just going to add to the turnover total in the second half for the Chargers, which has been nine, nine turnovers. Nine's turnover of the half, and again, after having zero in the first half,

And like Nathan said, earlier 8 and 11. The one upside about this, though, is that while this hasn't been a season that Hillsdale has, it's not a great season so far. I mean, you're not.

you're losing overall. But what it is looking forward to is that the developing confidence of these young guys, and that will be the story. We'll see. Leading a score in the game was Jordan Edwards, who banged up his hand early in the first half. I was able to finish strong, scoring six in the second half. And 20 in the game overall for the Chargers. Ashton Janowski is the leading score with 17.

Tough game regardless, though. and the Chargers will like to bounce back next week. They're on the road. Game. A full week break, though. So hopefully they can get in the gym, get some good practice, and try to come out strong and bounce back after a rough performance in front of this hometown crowd.
