The following is a special presentation of WRFH Sports.
Crowd is roaring. It's a sold-out game here.
Takes the three.
It's outside to Tavon.
Tavon takes the three.
Got that one.
Back-to-back three is for the Chargers.
Still Charger Basketball on Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM starts now.
Hello and welcome.
You're listening to Radio Free.
Creel's at 101.7 FM Charger Basketball. I'm Gordy.
And I'm Gabe. We are live here at Don Tibbitts Potter Arena for a postseason
matchup between your hometown Chargers and the visiting Ashlyn Eagles.
Big implications this game. Chargers trying to keep their season alive. What do they have to do so?
I think it's all about how well they play defense.
Scoring well, Ashland, they tend to just give up 112 the last game in the regular season to Walsh.
So if you can get hot offensively and hold, if you could hold, you know, Ashland scores,
their bigs to, you know, under their averages, I think there's a great shot to win this game.
Yeah, for sure, player to watch potentially G-MAC player of the year,
Macyo Williams, the 6-7 forward kind of play center for them.
Traditional big man down low, but it's going to be matched up with a little bit more size
than he's used to in the G-Mack, Big Rick, it's 6-8, C.J. Eerie, and it's 6-9, 6-10.
and then Caleb Glazer around that height and a very physical defender.
So Chargers have sized to compete with them.
It'll be interesting to see how they're able to shut them down, averaging 21,
which is the most I've seen in the GMAC all year.
Absolutely.
Yeah, and then also for the Chargers,
a big key is getting Mikey McCollum back.
His last game, his first game back in a couple weeks,
and he lit it up.
Almost his career high had 21 points on about 7 and 9 shooting,
got to the rim, made some big threes,
and having him back as that six-man, him and Logan Beeson kind of interchangeable at the guard position there,
a little 3-and-D has been huge for the Chargers.
Yeah, and, you know, Ashland, Hillsdale is a team that plays great at home, 13 and 7 at home,
500 on the road.
Don Tibbetts Potter Arena is packed tonight for the first opening night of the GMAC Conference Tournament Championship.
And Ashland, you know, not as great on the road, definitely worse on the road than at home.
but closer to 500.
Yeah, the Chargers have had their troubles at the end of the season,
but one thing that's been consistent winning at home,
they found the last three at home have been wins
and just a great team at home.
This crowd really coming out here on a Tuesday afternoon.
So it should be interesting to see.
We're going to take you to a quick break here for the National Anthem.

This is The Making of America from the Jefferson Media Group.
In 1949, evangelist Billy Graham began his preaching career in a mostly empty tent pitched on an empty lot in Los Angeles.
When newspaper mogul William Randolph Hearst heard his message, he had his reporters promote him, and the rest is history.
Soon, his tent was overflowing, and Graham would rise to lead America's Christian community for more than five decades,
providing spiritual counseling to everyone from Martin Luther King to Bono,
to every president from Eisenhower to Bush.
Once called the American Pope,
Billy Graham carried his message of hope and faith
to over 215 million people in 185 nations.
This has been the Making of America.

Big matchup, Ashland v. Hillsdale, as they're starting to announce the starting lineups.
Fans are warmed up here at Don Tibbets after the women's team.
Got a huge victory in their first round of the GMAC tournament over Cedarville.
Great win. 80 to 59.
Saw freshman playing.
Yeah, great overall effort for them.
I believe that they will be on the road with a win,
even though, depending on what happens in the bracket,
similar to the men's team,
they would need Finley and Kentucky Wesleyan,
the one and two seed to lose for them to have another home game
if they're able to win against Ashland Tonight.
That's the three seed after a little bit of a rocky win,
January, February was tough.
They could win some, lose some.
In between games, stuff like that.
But the starting lineup for the Chargers is the same as it's been all year.
Ashtonowski at point guard, Charles Woodhams, the senior and leading score.
Logan Beeson, another guard for them, Joe Ruter, the small forward and closing
it out, big Rick down low.
Chargers have kept this lineup for every game I've been at.
If everyone's healthy, this is who they're rolling with.
A lot of veteran leadership with Ruder and Woodhams.
should be interesting and there could be their last game ever.
Ashland starting off with Macy O Williams, of course, as we mentioned.
Number 13, J. Ron Cruz.
Number four, Javan Etzler.
Number 15, Stefan Stannock and number 23, Cooper Davis, their second league score.
Also, good to note their bench.
Jason Moore, one of their leading scores as well coming off the bench.
A couple six man for them.
They play about eight deep, so it should be an interesting one.
Should be an exciting one.
About to start underway for the tip-off here.
Don Tibbitts.
Dance playing, student sections going.
Football teams here.
Love to see it.
Jump around tradition, starting to ring out now.
Like we said, this could be the last game.
The Chargers pretty much have to win the G-MAC tournament out
if they want a chance for the playoffs and the postseason in that regard.
So definitely a team that can get hot and do it the way they've been shooting the ball down the stretch.
Absolutely.
Coming off two wins.
and leapfrog and Thomas Moore to get the three seed from the four seed
really a dominant victory against Thomas Moore
their last home game as well
they made a tough comeback but a new team to the league like Thomas Moore
couldn't hold up with they had a lot of freshmen a lot of redshirt
sophomore stuff like that playing and they couldn't keep up with the Chargers
leadership so it should be interesting because we're underway here
the tip big Rick for Smeasio Williams a matchup we're excited to follow all night
Tip is underway and the ball is in the air.

Blocked off the backboard by Big Rick.
This place erupts, Router in transition, kick out to Janowski.
Trying to find something, finds Ruter.
Woodhams will reset the offense.
Janowski pumps in the mid-range.
That's his shot up and good.
Five to two, now Chargers up three.
J. Ron Cruz takes it up here.
17 to play in this first half, an exciting one early.
Chargers up three.
Macio Williams with the back screen to J. Ron Cruz.
Tough take has to kick it out to the corner to Gregory.
His three balls up, no good.
Great box out by Beeson.
Able to clear the rebound.
Chargers here in transition.
Back to Ruder, top of the key.
Surveying this tough zone defense here early.
Swings to the corner.

Welcome to the Grammar Minute, where we're saving the English language 60 seconds at a time.
I'm Lauren Smith, and I looked at my keyboard and saw some weird little marks. And one of the
weirdest little marks, in my opinion, is the ampersand. What is that little squiggle?
Actually, the ampersand has very little to do with the English word and, and everything to do
with the Latin word et. The squiggle, as I've described it, is supposed to be a combination of the
letters E and T. At one point, this symbol was actually the 27th letter in the English alphabet,
probably because the word and is used so often that it just made sense to save space,
especially in printed materials where every letter had to be typed set by hand.
The word ampersand is also a shortened form of and per se and, which is what British children
called this symbol when reciting the alphabet. That's your Grammar Minute. Visit thegrammerminut.

Welcome back.
You're listening to Rayna Frielsdale 101.7 FM
Charger basketball 10 to 2 here.
1545 to play in the first half.
What are the Chargers doing right to have
such a good lead here early?
They're just clicking offensively. You've seen two
corner threes. Uriand putting
all of Ashland on a poster
right before the media timeout.
I mean, just clicking offensively
and keeping
Williams and Cruz
keep them tied down. Only two points to Ashland's
first five minutes.
Yeah, definitely interesting to see a team running zone against Hillsdale with the amount of
shooters that they have.
Even at the big man position, you saw Big Rick, pull one, didn't get it to fall.
But Hillsdale really eats alive his own, especially with Ashton Janowski.
He's a mid-range shooter.
You don't see that often nowadays.
Yerian shot no good rebound from Williams.
But interesting game here.
I'm sure Ashton will find something here.
Eight-point charger lead on the right wing in Cooper Davis.
Dribbling to the left, working on Williams.
Step back.
Three ball for Davis.
This tough one makes it.
Big shot there for Ashland, 10 to 5.
Yarian on the low block, surveying.
Still in zone for Ashland.
Yerian swings it across to Janowski, pump fake.
Back to Woodhams on the top of the key.
Janowski will take the three.
He doesn't take many.
He doesn't go.
Rebound cleared away there by Aidan Gregory.
Back to Cruz.
Triple handoff there to a do.
Working on Woodham's, one of the best defenders,
drives the left kick out to Gregory in the corner.
Tipped by Router, and it's going to be off Gregory.
charger basketball. You wonder if
Ashland, their coaches, doubting their
ability to guard one-on-one man-on-man
against the charges with the size that they have
prepared to, well, besides
you know, besides
Maseo Williams, kind of small ball.
Yeah, still in that zone.
Looks like they switch it up to man here on this position.
Router trying to find Woodham's on the back cut does.
He'll take the corner three off the dribble won't go.
Rebound Router, left-hand layup, good.
12 to 5 now, Chargers
getting the lead back up. Quick attack here
from Ashland. Davis on the
by Woodham's. I think he blocked it in.
12 to 7 now. Some high-paced basketball from Ashland on the response.
Mike Kee to call him in now for the Chargers.
Had a great game last time here at home.
At the top of the key with 20 on the shot clock.
Surveying that zone back in it for Ashland.
Woodham's top of the key finds the area on the right wing.
Drives to the middle. Great pass to Janowski down low.
Tough layup and the foul.
What a finish by Janowski.
14 to 7 now with a chance to make it 15.
Great take there by Janowski.
Like we said, he's a mid-range shooter,
kind of sitting in that weak spot of the zone
at the free throw line and attacking there
on a great pass from Yerian.
They're fighting each other early.
Janowski, 76% from the free throw line this season.
I mean, and it makes sense.
He's such a good mid-range shooter
that he gets to be set on this one and take his time.
In for the chart, or excuse me,
in for Ashland, number three, Luke Metzker.
Veteran guard and another veteran guard, the senior Colm McWenny, checking in for the Chargers.
Also in number 15, Stefan Stannick, the 6-6 senior from Parma, Ohio for Ashland.
15 to 70 or 14 to play in the first half.
Metzger dribble handoff to Davis, swings it over, finds Stannick, and then back to Williams,
top of the key 17 on the shot clock working on the area and closely guarded.
Back to Mexico.
High screen from Williams.
he rolls. He's going to work here in the mid
range. On Yerian drives to the middle.
Tough pull-up. Floater won't go.
Yerian clears the rebound.
15 to 7 still. Chargers
up 8. On the right wing,
Router attacking Metzker. Swings it to Mikey
McColl on top of the key coming off the downscreen.
Woodhams doesn't like it. On the right wing,
back to Yerian.
17 on the shot clock. Back on Rooder. Tough take
tries to dunk at home.
Fowled by Metzker.
Chargers are attacking the rim here early.
The Nashville looking uncomfortable.
getting blistered the room.
Yeah, a lot of back cuts, even in that zone,
to be able to extend the big guy out.
No defense of three seconds in college,
which makes zone a little bit easier than the NBA,
but they're extending those big guys
because they've got to defend the mid-range,
and chargers are finding a great zone offense here early.
First one for Rooters up in no good.
Had a little bit of struggles at the free throw line last games.
Hoping he can knock this second one down.
15 to 7 here, 13-30 to play in this first half.
Big game for both teams.
Loser is done for the season.
The second one, no good.
Yerian able to save it out to McCollum.
He'll take the rhythm.
Three ball could.
Mikey McCallum.
Welcome back from injury, 18 to 7 now.
He can't miss tonight.
No, Mikey McCollum is a legit shooter for the Chargers.
Triple handoff offense here for Ashland.
Top of the key, Metzker, and Don Tibitz is rocking now.
High ball, screen from Williams.
Ducked down low.
Great help from Rutter.
Kickout.
Davis, the deep.
Three ball.
won't go off the rim, Yerian with another rebound.
Column here in transition, 13 to play, 18 to 7.
Off the screen, doesn't like it, Router's going to go.
Download a Yarian.
20 on the shot clock, download to Woodhams.
Got the size of Anjohn-a-Doo.
Back some down, kicks out.
Yarian will take the rhythm three ball.
CJ Yarian's feeling it here early.
Big shot from Yerian, 21 to 7.
Time out, Ashland.
What a play there from Yerian.

Hello, I'm Ariel McDowell here with a word to the wise. Let's transition as a society from
insincere and awkward niceness towards down-to-earth unaffected kindness. As your friend, I'd rather
feel comfortable around you than be incessantly complimented, agreed with fervently, or appeased
in decision-making. I'm all for genuine goodwill, but you don't need to apologize to me six
times as you gently ask if I could nudge my grocery card a few feet so you can grab Oreos?
Have you noticed it's become a normal form of online humor to joke about being petrified during basic human interactions such as a phone call or a doctor's appointment to the point where it makes one socially incompetent?
That kind of fear isn't the result of genuine thoughtfulness.
Genuine thoughtfulness concentrates on the welfare of the person you're talking to, not their perception of you.
It's time for us to get over ourselves.
A high-pitched people-pleasing manner of speech doesn't give you kindness bonus points, but authentic friendliness will.
This has been a word to the wise and I'm Ariel McDowell on Radio Free Hills.

Great job on the Chargers, keeping Ashland really uncomfortable on defense.
Still 21 to 9 here. Ashland, a high volume offense, haven't found it here early. Williams finds a
do. Top of the key Williams guarded by Eerian. Back to Cruz, screen and roll again. Cruz kicks it to the
corner stolen by Woodhams, intercepts the pass, and now he's in transition. Tough take, left hand,
lay up high off the glass and good.

Top of the key Williams, guarded closely again by Yerian hand in the face.
Dribble hand off to Cruz.
Surveang drives to the left.
McGuinney, good defense, tries the steel, doesn't get it.
Cruz kicks into the corner to Gregory.
He drives, tough pull-up.
Won't go off the back of the rim again, cleared by Boltey.
23 to 9.
Chargers off to a great start.
Trying to keep their season hopes alive.
Off the screen, McGuney on the left wing, 20 on the shot clock,
finds Woodham's.
Surveys, drives to the left, spins back right, kickout, Yerian.
Triple handoff there to McWenny off the screen.
11 on the shot clock now.
Has to drive, kick out great fine to McCollum.
Top of the key will go.
Mikey McCollum.
Whoa.
Great shot again from the sharpshooting sophomore, 26 to 9 now.
Almost a 20-point lead for the Chargers in the GMAC tournament here at home.
Cruz with the screen from Williams again.
Tough take there by Stanick, guarded by Boltie, backing him down on the low block.
Help from Yerian has to put one up.
Does get it to go on the tough right-handed floater, 26 to 11 now.
Only Williams and Cruz averaging double digits on this team, forcing Ashland to go to other guys.
On the left wing, Woodham's 20 on the shot clock, working ISO on Stanick, tough drive.
Tough turnaround shot one-handed, won't go.
Yerian hustling for the rebound.
I think they're going to get him for a foul there.
It's going to take us to a moment.

Did China's Wonder AI send your data to the Communist Party?
It just may have.
Deep Seek rattled not just the artificial intelligence world,
but international finance a couple of weeks ago,
presenting an artificial intelligence model made in China,
which claimed to be superior to open AI, Google,
and X products made here in the USA.
China also boasted it could use less computing resources to deliver more and at a fraction of the cost.
And DeepSeek promised users their data was secure.
But now a group of South Korean investigators say that Deepseek wasn't being honest about that
and that data from accounts made to work with Deepseek had been shared with TikTok parent bite dance,
the same company accused of working with China's communist rulers.
South Korea now bans the Deepseek app because of this finding.
and some U.S. States are already banning the app
from state-owned phones and computers.

Hello, and welcome back.
You're listening to Radio for Eelsdale, 101.7 FM, 26 to 11 here.
What has Ashton got to do offensively
and try to find a little bit of scoring here down so big, so early?
They need to find any way to get Williams' ball down low.
They're really struggling.
They've missed them a couple times on passes.
You know, the rest of these eagles showing why they don't average double Gis.
this game.
Just got to feed Williams.
Yeah, Williams and Cruz, neither of them
have stopped out and they are the offense with that
high pick and roll. The Chargers are shooting the lights out here early.
And for the Chargers, Logan Vista Nash and Ashtonoski,
Garrett Bolte, Joe Ruter, and Caleb Glazer in its center.
Inbound goes here to Ashland.
Trying to find some scoring here.
Janowski, guarding Cruz, on the right wing, Stanik.
Top of the key.
finds John Etzler
swings it to Williams on Glazer
He's got the size advantage, take some baseline, spins back
middle, tough move, floater, won't go.
I'm going to say Glazer got him on the arm, fans don't like it.
Really tough there.
Glazer, a very physical player historically,
great defender, the smallest of the three bigs for the Chargers,
but he plays his heart out and has a tough task guarding Williams.
Williams to the line here for two.
from Williams is up and good trying to find a scoring rhythm for their leading score at averaging 21 a game in the G-Mac.
930 to play 26 to 12.
Second shot from Williams here.
Up and no good.
Rebound for Glazer off the miss.
Ball's tipped around, Stanik, able to keep it alive.
Janowski able to retain it back to Ruter.
Charters will set up their offense here back to zone for Ashland.

This is the Making of America from the Jefferson Media Group.
In 1980, Soviet troops invaded Afghanistan straining relations between the United States and the then-Soviet Union.
That same year, the Winter Olympics were taking place at Lake Placid, New York,
where the U.S. and Soviet hockey teams faced off for the Olympic gold.
The U.S. team was the youngest to ever compete in the Olympics,
and the Soviet team were considered to be the best in the world.
Experts said it would take a miracle for the U.S. team to defeat the Soviets,
and that is exactly what happened.
Still considered one of the most exciting Olympic competitions ever,
when the clock ran out, the score read,
Soviet Union 3, USA 4.
This has been the Making of America.

I think the offensive spark started on the defensive side of the floor.
Big Rick, two pokes, several blocks on the back end, like just steals, blocks.
They are clicking right now.
Yeah, Radicevich, a big-time shooter at times, big-time hook shot,

43, 28 Chargers playing a great first half, maintaining that lead pretty much all throughout.
And the big key, shutting down Macya Williams.
Average is 21 a game.
Only has five in the first half.
They've done a great job with all three of their best.
big man getting a turn on them. What do they got to do to keep it up and the Chargers to keep that
lead going? Well, the pick and roll is their bread and butter, and we have probably about a dozen
steals, you know, intercept and passes on that pick and roll. And I think just keeping that up is a big
part of this. Yeah, the Chargers shooting 50% from the field while Ashland hovering around 46%
just like you said, the turnovers have been detrimental. When they set up that offense, they've been
great and they've been led early by uh cooper davis as we mentioned with anne one to finish the
half and 12 points from him 75% shooting he's been great for them giving them a little bit of a spark
and another guy to look out for jron cruise their point guard kind of a guy they like to run their
offense through along with william zero points in that first half so definitely going to be interesting

The Dean's List with Janice Dean.
A Utah man who rescued his brother in an avalanche makes
today's Dean's list. Hunter and Braden Hansen were skiing on a snowy hillside when suddenly an incredible
mountain of snow started falling and buried Hunter. He says it took seconds for the snow to fall on top of him
like concrete. He couldn't breathe or move. Braden couldn't believe what was happening before his own
eyes, but he reacted quickly activating a special avalanche beacon, which was able to pinpoint his brother's
location underneath all of the snow. Miraculously, Hunter's glove poked out of the snow and he
was able to wave in hopes of alerting someone. By the time his brother got to him, Hunter was under
two feet of snow. Braden was then able to clear the snow around his brother's head, take off his helmet
so that he could breathe. Hunter says he will never forget what his brother did and told him he was on
his last breath before being rescued. He feels very blessed to be alive. Janisteen, Fox News.

I think their defense's start, it began with limiting transition points.

McCollum drives.
One dribble, pull-up.
Won't go off the back of the rim, cleared away by Gregory.
49, 39, as the clock's starting to tick down here in this ball game.
That's where top of the key, swings at the Davis.
They're leading score.
Drives middle.
Tough defense.
Look like it was a steel.
See who it's on.
McCollum.
Can't believe it.
They're going to get Chuck Woodham's on it.
Just his first.
one. Janowski heads to the bench after a great start to this second half for Cole McWinney.
49-39 here. Baseline out of bounds for Gregory. Surveang trying to get in and finds Williams.
He's working on Yerian. Just to have battled all night against each other. Baseline drive.
Push there on Yerian. Quick move by Williams on the baseline and Yerian had nothing to do but
foul. Just the second foul on Yerian.
He's done a great job defensively and made a couple big shots on offense.
Dealing with an injury, good to see him out there.
That's their top of the key, down low, trying to find it to Williams.
They do.
Earian, guarding him on the low block, 15 on the shot clock.
Great poke by McCollum, balls free, gets it down low, but McCallum recovers and steals it away to McWinney.
In transition, here come the Chargers where they've been so deadly.
McCollum, top of the key, swings it to Woodham, left wing, they'll slow it up, 20 on the shot clock.
McWinney, pocket pass.
Yerian up and under.
Try to make the reverse, but he's foul.
They'll get two shots.
A great pocket pass there for McGuney.
Two shots from Yerian on the way.
49, 39, 10-point game.
Aisselin is slowly but surely kind of crawled their way back into this game.
Making it closer than it once was.
Like we said, 20-point lead at one point for Aschlin.
First one from Yerian is no good off the front of the rim.
Eirian, a 50-per-freet-row shooter on the evening.
year.
Chvonne Cruz, or J-Rond Cruz, excuse me, back in and Adieu.
The senior guard, transfer from Notre Dame College back in as well.
Second shot for Earian is up and good, making that 50% marker true.
50 to 39 now, charges back up 11.
Cruz, again, screen from Williams.
They've been running it all night.
Step back in the mid-range, tough defense by McWinney,
swings it over to Adieu in the corner.
Surveys drives, middle on McCollum, has to.
kick it out to Davis. He drives, runs into his own player.
Yerian with a steel, and now the Chargers have numbers. Back to Ruter.
Surveys, has to kick it out to McCollum, and he'll reset here.
Router on the top of the key, 20 on the shot clock, trying to get a post-touch mismatch here for Yerian.
Trying to swing it across, can't. Ruter saves it. Ball is loose. What a save by Williams,
gets it to Cruz, and now they're in transition. Corner three-ball Davis, best shooter on the team will go.
50 to 42 now. Big shot.
from Cooper Davis, transfer from Toledo.
Yerian in the high post, surveying.
Can't find anything here, dribble handoff, can't find it.
Gets a download of a rudder, bit of a size, Mitchmass on a do.
On the low block, double comes, kicks it out, Woodham's open three ball in the wing,
can't find it, tipped.
Yerian, able to tip it off Williams, great effort.
It's going to be Chargers ball on the baseline,
and Caleb Glazer is going to check in for Yerian.
some guarding Williams. They've been rotating that big guy as they have all season.
And Glazer with three files checking him at 1240 to play, 50 to 42.
Raffs blown whistle on anything that moves on this court tonight.
Yeah, they've definitely been calling everything as GMX physical conference
and conference play when your season's on the line is as physical as it gets.
McWenny to do the duties, finds McCollum, he'll take a tough three ball,
won't find anything. Rebound goes to Davis.
50 to 42 now and a big opportunity for Ashland.
So they're going to take their time with Cruz, guarded by McWinney.
At midcourt, finds Davis coming off the downscreen, tough drive.
Kicks it to the corner.
Stannick, back to Davis, open three ball.
Will go again.
Cooper Davis.

Coach Kevin Bradley gets another chance to kind of fire up the guys
after a defensive shot clock forced violation there from Ashland
and just a great defensive possession when they needed it.
Only down five with plenty of game to play.
Absolutely.
And, you know, you love to see the Chargers get that touchback on the three ball.
So hot in the first half.
Not quite as there as it was early in the game.
Yeah, and Ashland's forcing them to take a lot tougher three-point shot.
They've extended the zone when they've ran it.
They've played tough man defense.
And the Chargers have just been playing as if they don't want to lose the game.
Up 20, they've been very conservative, not being as aggressive getting into the basket.
And you'd love to see him get back to that and kind of wake them up a little bit after this little bit of a sputter here at the start of the second half.
Plenty of time to do so, though.
1140 to play, 50 to 45.
Should have an exciting finish here in the first round of the GMAC.

versus six-seat Ashland.

His third of the night.
Cruz on the left wing in the stadium

A foul there.
Another off-ball foul,

He cannot believe.

Big Rick on the low block,

Ruter on the left wing,
kicks it McCollum, wide open three for Mikey McCallum.
He'll respond with his fourth.
56.45 and Mikey McCollum, when you need them most.
Screen and roll, as they have all night.
Cruz kicks it over,
tipped from McCollum and then off Stanning.
Mikey McCallum is everywhere tonight,
offensively and defensively,
and he is a huge spark off the bench for,
this Chargers team.
He's exactly what they need to get the momentum to swing in their way.
Like Gabe mentioned, the three-point shot was pretty dormant here in the second half,
but McCollum has found two from the top of the key to make the lead 56-48.
Chargers not giving it up.
Left-wing, Router, back in the zone.
McCollum, feeling it made two in a row.
Back to Rutter top of the key, swings it over to Woodham's, he'll drive.
Back out, McCollum, wide open corner three.
Mikey, McCollum, set the roof on four.
His third in a row.
And timeout, Ashland, as the stadium erupts.

They were mostly correct.
The company will now sell a more budget-friendly version of iPhone 16, dubbed the 16E.
Unlike the SE labeled phones, 16E is not significantly smaller in size or screen,
and it still has the same chipset as a regular iPhone 16, meaning it will have enough juice to handle Apple intelligence.
It's AI suite.
It has only one rear-facing camera, though.
And while it allows for QI wireless charging, it will not feature MagSafe.
And like others in the 16 family, iPhone 16E has a USB C porch, not Apple Lightning,
has to comply with the new European laws.

Out of bounds off the chargers.
A couple possessions there.
Not able to convert 63, 54, 9-point lead for Hillsdale with 520 to play.
They're going to mop the floors.
A couple of chargers and Eagles went after it.
This game means a lot for both teams, so I'm sure it'll be an exciting finish.
Both teams hustling all night.
A physical game here.
Don Tibbitts.
A beautiful Thursday night.
Crews here, top of the key.
Taking his time, and he's going to call for that ball screen as he has all night from Macy O.
Williams.
Working downhill.
Good kickout to a Duke, swings it over to Williams.
Hand off to Davis, driving.
Trying to find his first bucket in a while, and he will, and a foul.
Fowl there by Woodham's on a tough left-handed layup from Cooper Davis.
only the second on Wadham's Davis as we mentioned one of the best free throw shooters

Welcome to the Grammar Minute,
where we're saving the English language 60 seconds out of time.
I'm Lauren Smith, and you've probably heard the writing advice,
show, don't tell.
But what does this mean?
Firstly, this advice is for storytelling,
not for business emails.
By all means, tell instead of showing
and be as direct as possible when that's the point.
But when you're telling a story
and you want your reader to picture what you're saying,
don't just state what's happening.
She was sad, is incredibly boring and uninspired.
How does she look when she's sad?
How could we tell she's sad if we're standing in front of her,
inside the story ourselves?
Tears rimmed her eyes,
shows the reader that she's sad
without having to state this explicitly.
It's more interesting,
and it lets the reader form a detailed image of the scene in their mind.
This trick is easier said than done.
A good way to tell whether you're telling or showing
is to see how often do you use to be verb.
If you see a lot of these, chances are you're telling.
That's your Grammar Minute.
Visit thegramomimit.com for more tips and tricks.
Hello and welcome back.
You're listening to Radio for Eelsdale, 101.7 FM Charger basketball, 65, 58, with exactly four to play.
And this game has just been back and forth.
Chargers never giving up that lead, though.
Yeah, Ashland, battling back a couple times.
Cutting the lead all the way down to five earlier in this half.
Then Mikey McCollum goes off.
11 points in a row.
Yeah, that was a huge spark.
Mikey McCollum, he's been doing that all season when healthy.
Great to see him back on the court as a charger fan.
And he provided that spark as their six-man.
Based on out of bounds, Janowski to inbound it.
Should be an exciting finish here.
Janowski's surveying, trying to find something here,
has to throw it back up top to Yerian.
Dribble hand off to Chuck.
Woodham's working on Williams, has the mismatch.
Kicks through the corner to be some backup top.
Woodhams.
Iso on Williams.
Tough take.
Can't find anything. Beeson kickout. Nine in the shot clock. Beeson's got to go.
Janowski will go. Tough defense by Cooper Davis. Janowski,
serving, step back, mid-range. Will go.
Ashton Janowski looking like Prime MJ there in the mid-range. What a finish.
67, 58. 3.30 to play Cruz. Kick out Williams. The big fellow will take the three ball off the front of the rim.
No good. Rebound out of bounds. And the chargers have possession.
Williams frustrated averaging 21 this year
nowhere near that mark so far
and it looks like he's not afraid to shoot at charges
have been guarding him closely and he's shot two threes
haven't found one yet
a tough defense all night
press is broken pretty easily from the chargers
Beeson will get it here on the left wing
trap comes here
that's the survey can't find anything
kicks it out to Janowski
he'll reset things with 15 on the shot clock
three to play
triple handoff from Yerian
Janowski made the miraculous shot
Last time in the mid-range, kickout.
Woodham's tough take.
Good.
Over Williams, Charles Woodham's.
What a finish.
69, 58.
Chargers lead back up to 11 where they like it.
Defense chance raining out here.
Cruz.
Screen from Williams, drives to the left, surveys back.
Another screen.
Driving to the right, tough pull-up, mid-range.
Cruz won't go.
Cruz is another guy averaging almost 10 points a game this year.
nowhere near that mark only two from him tonight two 30 to play 69 58
Chargers looking to put a dagger here in Ashland tough drive woodhams and once again
tough take from Woodham's kind of put his shoulder down but a blocking call on
Cruz no charges call tonight yeah anyone looking for a charge call
tough out of luck tonight yeah not happening tonight and Woodham's and these seniors
on the brink of another game,
another opportunity for them to try to make their case
to the committee that we're a playoff team,
even with a couple of bad losses throughout the season.
Two shots from Woodham's here at the line.
And another big storyline, fourth foul there.
I know it's late from Cruz,
but he is their ball handler,
not really a bench point guard for Ashland all night.
He's played most of the minutes.
Even though he hasn't been scoring a whole lot,
he has been distributing the ball.
in that pick and roll guy, him and Williams all night.
Clearing up the floor here is both guys hit the deck pretty hard.
Wulham's a 74% free throw shooter on the year.
Yeah, their leading score.
You really wouldn't know it.
By the way he plays, he just takes what they give him, mid-range shots.
He'll make a three every once in a while.
And he's a big guard.
He's physically, gets that mismatch down low on smaller guards and goes up
and has a great finish at the right with the left.
So he's one of those guys that will sneakily score,
15 plus for you every night.
I have a chance to expand on it.
First shots up and good.
Charles Woodhams, the red shirt senior from Asiago, Michigan.
Asiago High School outside of Kalamazoo.
70 to 58 now, chances for Ashland looking bleak.
Story of the night.
Williams only held to nine points.
Average in 21.
Second shot up and good for Woodhams.
71.58 now.
Ashland needs a bucket ear
to save their chances on their whole season.
Williams on the left wing.
Driving dribble handoff, Davis.
He's surveying.
Fines Etzler.
Back up top.
Tough drive there from Stan.
It kicks it out.
Ball sores.
Woodham's got it on the break.
One-on-one.
What a finish and one.
Charles Woodhams is fired up on the finish.
Over the top.
But Bill Williams, the bigger defender.
Looked like the ball was going to soar out of bounds.
Woodham flies out of nowhere.
Gets it, finishes it, and a chance for one more at the line.
We were just praising how good of a player he's been and makes a huge play there.
73-58 now.
Taking his time and joined the moment firing up the crowd after that finish.
Could be his last game here at Don Tibbitts.
Up and good for Woodham's.
74-58, two to play now.
Chances looking bleak for Ashland.
At one point, they have the lead.
Down to five.
Back up to 16 now.
Cruz kicks it, Etzler.
He'll take the quick trigger.
Three ball.
Off the rim won't go.
Ball's tipped around.
Ruder fighting for it.
Ball's still loose.
I'm going to Ruter for the foul.
Both guys fighting for it.
Coach Kevin Bradley hates the call.
Williams here.
Great effort, Joe Ruter.
His fourth.
Not much time to play in a nice lead.
Williams is going to get a chance here at the line.
Try to score double digits here with the one-on-one.
Macyo Williams,
great player, 21 points per game,
but Chargers, Big Men, have done a phenomenal job.
First shot is up and good there from Macyo.
74-59.
Chargers just need to take care of it.
Drain some clock in this game should be over.
and they should be advancing to the second round G-MAC conference tournament.
Got is up and no good.
Rebound, though.
Great play there by Stannick.
Quick trigger three ball from Davis won't go.
Stannick, another offensive rebound.
Back to Davis again, but he stepped out.
Stannick laying everything on the floor there to get three offensive rebounds in that possession alone.
The senior, this could be his last game laying it all out there, as we said.
but Davis on the baseline stepped out of bounds, inbound here.
Router, trying to break the press does, get it into Yerian.
We're going to foul Yerian there.
50% shooter, as we mentioned, going to get a chance with a 1-1.
7459, minute 40 to play, and it's pretty much just a fouling game now.
Absolutely, and, you know, one of the things that, you know, usually of the course of the season,
it's been spotty, but in general, charges.
pretty good from the free throw line. Yeah, definitely historically as well, a team that takes pride
at the free throw line. Crowd, crowd quiets for Yerian's first one. No good rebound goes to Williams.
Ashland has to push it here if they want. Sliver of Hope, 130 to play Williams. Top of the key on Yerian.
Handoff Davis driving. Can't find anything. Great defense by Yerian. 70 on the shot clock now.
Woodham's on Williams. Great effort from Yerian. Ball still loose goes back to Cruz. He'll take the fade away
three ball off the backboard.
Just thought he had to put a shot up there just because of the deficit and the time.
Minute 19 to play out of bounds, charger basketball.
We're going to sub in their best free throw shooters here.
Logan Beeson checking in for Yerian, Ruter McCollum, Janowski, and Woodhams.
The other four.
119 to play, inbound goes to Woodham's.
Finds it back to Janowski.
He tries to break the press and he's fouled there.
One in one from Janowski.
There's a brand new music competition show coming from Canada.
See if the Chargers can close this one out and make a big statement to the rest of the teams in the tournament.
They win.
This one, close it out, and Kentucky Wesleyan finds a way to beat Malone at home.
It should be an exciting second round matchup.
First shots up and good for Janowski.
He'll get the second one, 75, 59 now.
75-59
Leads looking pretty big here for the charges at 16
Janowski's second one also up and through
Great free-throw shooter
76-59 Chargers almost have that lead
Back up to 20 where it once was in the first half
Cruise driving
Working on Janowski, low paint
Step back mid-range
Can't find anything again
Sort of forcing it there
Just trying to get a shot up so they can maybe have a slimmer
of hope but tall but over here don tibbitts chargers are just going to hold it here and the home fans are
loving it here great season from hillsdale at home and like we said that matchup with kentucky wesley
in an overtime thriller last time they played where the charges were able to win on the back of
colmikwinnie schnowski just kind of dribbling it out here four on the shot clock going to have to get one up
here can't great effort just kind of run out the shot clock there trying to have a little bit of sports
up as this game's all but over. Ashton's going to check in a couple of their seniors. Number 11,
Carter Valentine. Check that. He's not a senior. It's a redshirt sophomore, getting some playing
time before the season ends. And number 12, Brent Alberts, another sophomore. A lot of their seniors
that this is their last game are already playing with Adieu, along with Stannock. The only two seniors.
I'll check that along with Luke Metz-Tur and Gavinette. That's.
It could be their last game.
Organized basketball.
Davis will take the fading three ball.
Won't go.
Yerians got it.
He'll throw it ahead of Woodhams.
And that'll do it.
Chargers can dribble it out.
Shot clock turned off.
And they are marching on to the second round here,
a D-2 March Madness here at the G-Mack.
Thank you guys for tuning into a great broadcast.
76-59 home victory.
