and that will be displayed early and often for their hillside charges. Shots away.
The football team plays the last football game on Saturday at Ohio Dominican.
At Ohio, Dominican will be a great game down in Columbus. Coming off a hot victory off the Tiffin Dragons.

Logan Beeston
He was hot on the first home game
He had several threes.

Absolutely.
We're looking for a good game.
We're looking for the Chargers to beat down on the Phantoms.
Why not?
And I'll tell you what, these Charger boys, they're looking juiced.
They are looking juiced.
These boys are looking connected.
We're getting ready for the jump ball here.
It looks early like CJ is outsizing number 22, which is Victor Garrett's there number five.
Their point guard, number one, is probably five foot three.
Yeah, he's pretty short, but, you know, the thing is, I think it's heart over height at the end of the day.
Jump ball, one by Hillsdale.
Chargers.
Number two, Ashton Janowski dribbling up the court with number one on him, Jalen Jackson, one of the brothers, we presume.
Beeston dribbled it up the court, kicks it over to Janowski.

We're playing a little like four out one in right now.
And I'll tell you what, Logan Beeson, big guy, 6364, have been my financial management class.
Shut out.
I'm going to predict that Jalen Jackson might be 5'6 just for the listeners out there, just for a little size.
It's a matchup to be watched.
Out of bounds, charge your ball, out on Phantoms.
Real sloppy on the east-west side of things right now.
They're getting no type of penetrates.

Welcome to the Olden.
old ball game where we talk about the past of America's favorite pastime. I'm Tate Christensen.
Today we talk about the origin of baseball's favorite concession food, hot dogs. At early ball games,
there were no official concession stands, but local people would sell food to fans who tended
to eat things you would eat without utensils. And at the beginning of the 20th century, German immigrants
began to help shape the culture, and people began to love their dachshund sausages, which were served
with a milk roll and sourcrow. In the 1860s, Chris von der Ahi, a German immigrant and owner of the
St. Louis Browns introduced the hot dog to baseball fans. At first, they were served without buns,
and instead, customers would keep the white gloves that the hot sausages were served on. However,
the gloves were eventually not being returned, and this frustrated the company. Somewhere
along the line, the split bun was introduced, and it fit just like a glove. And now countless
hot dogs are eaten every ballgame. This has been the old ballgame on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
In timeout right now, the phantom is discussing their game plan. The score is nine to four.
in favor of the Hillsdale Chargers with 1306 left to play in the first half.
One foul for the Chargers, none for the Phantoms.
Worthy to be noted?
What I'm seeing right now is Hillsdale's playing into the level of the competition.
I feel like they have to play above the competition.
Yeah, absolutely.
How they normally play, because they're turning the ball over a little too much right now.
Yeah.
It's looking like the Phantoms are going to roll out with the same lineup of Jalen and Jaha Jackson,

Welcome to the Grammar Minute, where we're saving the English language 60 seconds at a time.
I'm Lauren Smith, and I'm here to tell you that brand names are capitalized.
This probably sounds obvious. Of course, you're going to capitalize Purell or Windex. But what about
less obvious brand names that have also become popular words like weed eater, hydroflask, Hoover,
and so on? In formal published writing, these words, even though commonly used, still need to be
capitalized. There's some wiggle room with this. Some words are just so commonly used and so
rarely associated with brands that it just looks really weird to capitalize them. It would probably
seems strange if jacuzzi or Velcro or trampoline were randomly capitalized in the middle
of a sentence, especially since most people don't know these are brands. You can be flexible with
these words, but generally it's best to follow the rule, capitalize brand names. That's your

This is the Making of America
from the Jefferson Media Group.
On August 6th,
1945, an atomic weapon was dropped on
Hiroshima, Japan, in hopes of
ending World War II. However,
few are aware for days prior to the
bombing, American pilots dropped
leaflets over the city warning the people to leave. Read this carefully as it will save your life,
it read, we are in the possession of the most destructive explosive ever devised by man, and then it
urged them to evacuate their city. Even though over 100,000 people lost their lives in Hiroshima,
the Empire of Japan still refused to surrender. It took a second bombing on Nagasaki before the
Emperor himself ordered the surrender over the objections of his military leaders.
This has been the Making of America.
I'm Michael Emerson, and you can visit us at jeffersonmediagroup.com.

Telling the stories of those who have been awarded the Medal of Honor.
This is Minute of Honor.
Here's Jinnah Suhita.
On June 6, 198.
gunnery sergeant Charles Hoffman was serving near Chautau Tirey, France.
His company had taken Hill 142 and was attempted to consolidate their position.
But immediately after taking the position, enemy forces began launching several hostile counterattacks
against the line. Sergeant Hoffman was attempting to organize a position on the north slope of the
hill when he saw 12 of the enemy armed with five light machine guns crawling towards his group.
Given the alarm, he rushed towards the hostile detachment, bayoneted the two leaders,
and forced the others to flee, abandoning their guns.
His quick action, initiative, and courage
drove the enemy from a position from which they could have swept the entire hill with machine gunfire
and forced the withdrawal of American troops.
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty,
gunnery sergeant Charles Hoffman received both the Navy Medal of Honor and the Army Medal of Honor.
This is Minute of Honor on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.1.7 FM.

Mikey dives and gets it.
Loose ball foul on East West here.
Yeah.
We have number 12 with Jacob Meyer checking into the game.
He is from Pemberville, Ohio.
And I'll tell you what.
I played against them in a summer league during my time in high school.
Interesting, interesting, you know.
There's a lot of kids from Ohio on the team, you know?
Yeah, I came across Jacob Meyer during.
in the summer.
Going into my senior year.
We played against each other.
Good little player.
Sam, I'm a Michigan guy myself.
A lot of Ohio guys, though.
Shout out Ohio.
Shout out the great state of Ohio.
As McWenny kicks it over to Meyer.
Who kicks into Glazer?
Five seconds on the shot.
Who drives in and gets a nice little layup.
Nice hook shot from Clayson.

Three seconds left.
See if we can't get a shot up before the half.
Big Winnie.
Big Winnie.
Oh, foul.
Oh, tough fall, Marco Brown.
Very sportsmen like to help him up, though.
Love to see that.
Very nice.
They will be shooting one in one, I think.
Yep, one and one.
Yeah, one-on-one for McWenny.
All he does is win, win, win, win.
No matter what.
McWitty hit the line.
We're going to get to 50 points in the first half for Charger basketball.
That'll be a good little...
Good lead we have here.
Dribble, dribble.
Shot up, good stroke.
No good.
Rebaugh Joe Tate, and he's just yucks up court.
He's no good.
Short, as Chargers going to halftime, 49, 13.
You are listening to 101.7 FM Radio 3 Hillsdale with Cole,
Cantor, and Colin McCurnan.
Welcome back to Charger basketball at Dawn Tibbitts Potter Arena.
You're here with Cole and Colin with Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM.
The Chargers, Cole, they're dominating, man.
It is a full domination we have on our hands today.
By looks of it, by the tip, I knew it was going to be a domination.
I mean, Jalen Jackson, his brother,
suspected brother, Jahad Jackson.
I'll note this.
We do not know if they're brothers.
We do not.
We don't know.
We're assuming.
Same last name.
We can guess.
We have context clues.
But they're looking like to be the star players for a team that otherwise has no real star player.
Not to be disrespectful at all, but it's just how it is.
Head coach Tommy Pazley has the phantoms going.
And I'll tell you what.
A few years ago, there was an issue in high school football with Bishop Sycamore.
Yeah.
Playing IMG Academy.
I'll tell you what, this feels a little similar to this.
Yeah, I don't know too much about east to west.
I look it up.
There's no real address for the school.
I mean, can we make up our minds?
Is it east or is the west?
Is it north or the south?
Google does say it's a real institution.
It's a four-year institution, private.
And it's in Chicago, Illinois.
That's all we know.
It's not much information out there.
I would love, I would love to be able to tell you guys more about this, but to be quite frank, we don't know anything about this university.
I've never heard of them. It's my first time.
We've done some research.
But you know what?
What do you think East West has to do here to make this at least not a 50-point loss?
Yeah, I mean, at this point, the Chargers are playing great basketball.
Start out a little bit slow, but we're playing ball.
I think East West, to get out of this a little bit unscathed, play clean basketball.
I mean, Jahad Jackson needs to clean it up.
He does, he does.
And not to call anybody out.
He's a fantastic guy I've heard.
I've heard.
They've been saying that.
But they used to play clean basketball.
Coach Tommy Pazley needs to get him in order.
I've shared that a good halftime talk and see where this goes.
Yeah, I think Hillsdale just needs the limit turnovers here in the second half.
And, I mean, take the best shot.
You know, we've got to force too much.
You're up.
You're up 36.
Just run your offense, play ball.
Absolutely.
And let the chips fall where they may.
You know what?
Don Tibbitts Potter Arena.
It's kind of quieting down.
Yeah, the football guys left at half.
Left at half.
But this is not a close contest at all.
Yeah, I mean, you know, the Chargers are just looking to come out hot here in the second half.
Coming out early, we have C.J. Yarian.
Coming out with Ashtonowski, Joe Ruder, Logan, B.
and Charles Woodham's.
I like a Gus Johnson.
You got a little Gus Johnson, did you?
I've learned from him.
He's a great commentator.
And you know who I see on the Phantom Court?
Jah Jackson.
They're not playing the Pursume brothers together anymore.
I don't know why.
No, the Presumed brothers are not playing.
Marco Brown's presuming the PG-1 role.
And first appearance for Marquis Merritt.
You want to know the funny thing, Cole?
Yeah.
He's got a brother, too.
Maurice Merritt, shout out.
And I'll tell you what, Maurice Merritt's out of the court, too.
The Merritt brothers are on the court together.
Marco Brown kicks it to Victor Garrett.
Oh, we have a foul.
A foul.
On the court, CJ Earing, getting helped up.
Seems to be all good, though.
Fowl on 31, C.J. Eureen, seems to be a blocking foul.
As the phantoms passed in from under the basket.
kicks to Marco Brown who shoots of him.
And it hits the back side of the backboard.
Valentine!
Or so would say.
That's a tough shot.
That's a tough shot.
It's a four-th shot that you don't need.
And I don't know if you can cut it out to a bad shot,
but I think that's just great defense by the Hillsdale Chargers.
As Janowski brings up the ball.
Let's see what the Chargers do offensively here.
Start the half.
CJ Yeran kicks out to Beeston, who saves the back court,
gives it to one of the ball.
Merritt brothers.
One of the Merit Brothers.
And we get a block.
Plocking, follow Logan Beeston.
Logan Beeston was inside the semi-circle in the paint.
So that's why it's a block.
You can't, if you're inside the semi-circle, it cannot be a charge.
Thank you, rules out on us.
No problem.
We have Gene Sterator on staff.
His name is Cole Canton.
One of the Barrett brothers shooting two here.
One of the Marquis.
It's Marquis, Merritt.
While he's shooting free throws, we take this a good opportunity to shout out the Wolfpack podcast.
Sure.
Two group of four quarterbacks, myself, Cole.
Gordie Lafontein
Reed Shoemaker.
I heard it's one of the best
upcoming podcasts in the nation.
That's what I heard.
It's a little bit biased
because we run it.
Sure.
As Maurice misses both of his free throws.
Hopefully the Bennett family is here
watching their kids play together.
That's got to be an electric feeling.
As Beeston saves another out-of-bounds passes.
Jahat Jackson with the steel.
Euro step.
Pretty tough.
Up and under basket by Jaha Jackson.
Let's see Jaha Jackson can turn around the shaft.
East West is pressuring. Full court here trying to get some turnovers. They have too early here.
Janow foul, come on. Mori's Merritt.
We're reaching foul here. Grab him around the waist.
Pretty quiet in here.
Coach, pretty quiet in here.
I'll say we're the loudest in the arena. We are the loudest in the arena.
We're just men in the arena, you know? We're just men. We're just playing ball.
We're watching playing ball and it's a good thing.
As Woodhams has the ball top, the kick in the Beeston. Who wants to shoot? Does not.
Has a shot, doesn't shoot it.
Rotor kicks it to Wudham's.
Who kicks it to the area in the pain?
Kisnowski.
Janowski for three.
Corner three.
Corner three.
Corner three.
Janowski.
What a shot.
Marco Brown has the ball.
Let's see if they give it the job.
Ah, Jackson.
Give some more T-shirts.
T-shirts getting handed out left and right.
A lot of T-shirts going out.
Hopefully they have plenty more to go.
Oh, we're going to need a million T-shirts.
Jaha Jackson with the ball at the top
Let's see if you get some going here
Got a nice old layer
Guarding Jaha Jackson
Jaha actually can go up and under
Fow foul C.J. Yarian
Jaha Jaxon's going takeover right now
You know
As the kids were saying nowadays
Jaha Jackson is busing
Jaha Jackson missed two free throws earlier
Let's see if he rebounds here
And makes both
We also want to shout at the lady Chargers
for winning prior.
Prior to this at 5.30 against Lake Superior State.
Pulled one out.
As Jahad Jackson misses the first free throw.
Yeah, the lady chargers pulled one out late in the fourth quarter.
Good win for the ladies.
Great win.
Jahad Jackson shooting a second right now.
Shooting a second free throw?
And he makes it.
It is...
Jahad Jackson is...
He's been an up and down player this game.
...incons for the Phantoms as Yerians breaks the point.
Press to Ruter.
Janowski at the top, handling the ball, kicks into Wottoms.
Beeston, back to Wudams.
Back to Janowski, who shoots a stepback, mid-range.
Bang!
What a shot by Janowski.
What a shot by Janowski.
That step-back gave him a little separation to get that shot off.
Bangorang!
Marco Brown gives the Victor Garretz.
Who kicks it to Marco Brown.
Back to one of the Bennett's merits.
Merritt. Whoops.
Jahan Jackson, making a move.
Wow. Wow.
Jahad Jackson might go off this half.
Chahajson, a tough bucket there.
Layup.
5418 chargers pressing as they break the press with the Arians.
Gives it a Wittams.
Who kicks in the Rootter?
Up and under Rooter.
Misses the layup.
Rebound by Victor Garrett.
Marco Brown.
Bringing up for the Phantoms.
Going to coach, see what play he wants to run here.
He probably said something along the lines of Tommy Pazily.
What do I want to run here?
I don't know if he said that.
I saw for Jaha Jackson.
That's what they want to run.
I think that's the offense.
They want to run.
He goes back to Marco.
Marco wants to shoot, I'm sure of it.
Gives it Jaha.
Jaha with a shot heavily contested.
Bang.
Wow.
Jaha Jackson.
Turn it around this half.
Jaha, excuse me, sorry.
Jaha Jackson.
Oh, wide open guy.
Wow.
Chahajas is really heating it up.
The Chargers, they're playing good ball.
Just have to lock down on defense.

They are slowly cutting into this lead.
We will go to a media timeout.
You're watching.
Radio for Hills, though.
101.7 FM. I'm cold and I'm next to Colin McCurnan. We'll see you after the break.
Welcome to the Astro Minute where we're exploring the universe 60 seconds at a time. I'm Lauren
Smith and today we're looking at two bright star clusters. While planets, meteors and aurora
adorn this year's winter skies, more distant objects such as the Pleiades and Hyades
returned with familiar dazzle to their winter posts. The Pleiades and Hyatis are open star
clusters, groups of hundreds of stars born together and loosely bound by gravity. They've been
admired since antiquity visible even to the unaided eye. To see them, look east toward the constellation
Taurus. The Pleiades is an obvious fuzzy patch sprinkled with a handful of bright stars.
Nearby Hiades is V-shaped and accented by bright red aldebaron, though that star is not actually
part of the group. You'll see several stars in each cluster and binoculars will reveal many more
of their hundreds of members. Charger coach talking to the fellas getting stuff in line.
Gotta be happy with how the charges are playing. It's 5625 chargers with 1545 left in the second
half. We have a newcomer in the game. Jalen West. Out of where? We don't know. We're not sure.
He's from somewhere though. We're sure of that. Jaha Jackson been heating up. Jaha Jackson at the line.
Shooting one.
Shooting one, following an and one from before the break.
Shoes it and misses it Joe Ruder with the board.
McWenny takes it up, kicks it to McCollum Glazer in the game.
A lot of pressure coming from East West here.
Causing turnovers.
It gets tipped off.
Charger ball.
One of the Merritt brothers.
It will remain Chargerball.
It's funny.
You got to imagine the Merit family is very happy to see their kids playing together.
I can't get over that.
Imagine seeing your two sons playing together on the same court.
What about the Jackson family?
Presumed.
We're not sure if they're brothers.
We can firmly stand on the Merritt brothers being brothers because they look alike.
McWittany.
That's McWitty for three.
No good.
Rooder with the board over somebody.
Marco Brown.
Oh.

But he's really found.
We found where he's going.
He found his path.

He's trying to make a move.
Pull up mid-range.
Misses, no good rebound Caleb Glazer.
That's a bad shot for Jahe Jackson right there.
forced. He's heating up. He had to do a little heat check. McCollum with a bow. Oh, McCollum with a drive and a foul. He'll
be at the line for two. I'd like to see Chargers drive to the rim a little more this half. You know,
you don't really need that many more threes. You're up a good amount. Let's attack the rim. Get some
fouls. And I'll tell you what. You know who deserves a shout out? Who?
Still. Love this school. Love the people.
As CJ Gary and subs in for Caleb Glazer.

It's probably something along the lines of Cole.
I hope we win this game.

The Making of America from the Jefferson Media Group.
The year is 1842 and a patient is about to have a tumor surgically removed,
but for the first time in history, it will be done painlessly.
Born in Macon County, Georgia, Dr. Crawford Long was a surgeon and a pharmacist
who had experienced the brutality of performing surgery without anesthesia.
But all that was about to change.
He administered sephoric ether on a towel and had his patient breathe through it.
and to the delight of everyone, especially his patient, the operation was painless.
Dr. Crawford Long had discovered anesthesia.
In 1845, he used that same method on his wife during childbirth,
and it must have worked because she bore him 12 children.
This has been the Making of America.
I'm Michael Emerson, and you can visit us at jeffersonmediagroup.com.

That's a weight room.
That's weight room.
Shout out Mitchell Shonborn.
Shout out of Coachell.
He gets the boys right.
As Marco Brown has a ball, top of the key.
Joplin around.
Janowski in the defense.
Jaha Jackson shoots up a three.
Bang.
Wow.
You may have 50% of the points.
Jaha Jackson, I'll tell you what.
Jaha ha ha.
He's got the last laugh right now.
Carlos.
the phantoms. Carlos with a hustle play
to get it out back, charge your basketball.
Carlos is a hustler here.
He's a hustle guy. We've seen that throughout the game.
He wants to be a baller shot caller.
Oh, you got a block.
Blocking foul by Jahaaha.
Yet again, he has the last laugh.
Not necessarily, though, as he has a blocking foul.
It's just his first foul, though.
You can tell that coach, Tommy Posley, is really riding him.
Seems to be their best player.
Yeah.
Beeston swings the earring to top of the key.
Kinks of Janowski.
Who's just dribbling on the corner.
Carlos on the defense has Beeston.
Who's heaned up.
Oh my gosh.
With the hands of a shot.
By Logan Beeston.
He's been showing that he is one of the best shoes on this team.
Doesn't miss many.
Logan Beeston is on fire.
I'd love to tell you how many threes he has.
We can't count.
We can't count.
Lost count as Jaha Jackson has the ball.
Shoots up a three.
No good.
Can't respond.
Can't respond.
Oh, something happened.
Divinity calmly is down.
He's back up.
Janowski, top of the key.
Oh, Jahad Jackson with the steel.
On the back move on Woodhams.
Jahan Jackson wants to score here.
Yeah, he does.
And he does.
And he does.
With a quick layup.
At will.
And I'll tell you what.
Chargers defense is stout.
Oh, as Boltie throws the ball away.
Try to find Beeston a little bit hot.
that'll happen as Beeston is in the stands right now trying to save himself very acrobatic move I will say sure
as bolt he subs out for Joe Ruder the one in only not only only only there's no D in that word
there is it Marco Brown asked the coach what he wants yet again and you know what coach is going to say give it the five
give it a five ball oh my son I so trying to make a move trying to try to
find his buddy Jaha.
They seem like roommates.
As Jaha drives in the paint, trying to get a tough bucket, and he does.
I think he has 50% of the points.
I think he has more than that.
Sure.
I think they got 37 points.
I think he has 27 of them.
As Logan Beeson, the sharpshooter, trying to find an outlet as he finds Wadams who kicks
it to Rooder, kicks it back to Wudems as he saves the ball from going out of bounds.
Woodhams, drives, gets up a shot, foul.
He'll be shooting two.
from the line. We'll be going to media timeout.
You're watching Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM. I'm Cole, and this is Colin McCurnan
next to me. We'll see you after the break. Welcome to the Grammar Minute, where we're saving
the English language 60 seconds at a time. I'm Lauren Smith, and it's raining cats and dogs
in Hillsdale today. Actually, it's not. It's clear blue sky. I just said that to give you a taste
of all the lovely cliches English has to offer. If anything about the previous sentences feels stale,
to you, that's because I've used at least three cliches already. I'm defining cliches as any
commonly used sequence of words that is not direct and to the point. So, for example, give you a taste
is a cliche. Don't get me wrong, these do have a place in good writing, but you have to use them
with caution, because if the reader has heard them often enough, or if they aren't used in a fresh
way, they can make it sound like you're not expressing original ideas. What's stopping you from coming
up with your own phrase, or just saying exactly what you mean? It's a lot of you mean. It's a lot of
raining like the giant mushroom at the water park is entertaining.
It's raining is concise.
Welcome back to Charger basketball with Colin and Cole.
You know, the two Cs.
Two Cs.
This is my inaugural basketball game.
This is Cole's second basketball game.
We know there's no comment section,

I don't know what they have playing there, but they have something planned.
I bet they're going to get the rebound outlet it quick to Marco Brown.
Beasts of the vines of.

Pardon me, I was stumbling on the words.
I've been a loss of words for the strike.
Did they run out a shirt over there?
I don't see any shirts going in the section.
I see any shirts.
Oh, I see.
They're getting ready to throw some.
Jahad Jackson drives.
Oh, my Lord.

From Cleveland, Ohio. Same Nachians.
Colum and Cole McWinney back in the game for the charges.

I feel something special happening here.
Sure.
Joe Rue with the ball to McWitty.
McWitty knows what he wants to do.
Oh, he loses the ball.
Gives it back.
To Woodhams, to Yaris, who kicks it out to McCollum.
McCollum up and over.
Blocking foul by Jaha Jackson.
Yeah.
He may have been in the semi-circle again.
Couldn't really see.
Mikey McCollum, more like Mikey got foul.
He did get found.
It's Connor Stonebreaker
in the game for Joe Ruter.
Mikey Bishu, two here

Mikey McCollum.
Oh, number 12.
Jacob Meyer checks in the game

I don't know where it's at

It's in Ohio for sure.
But shout out Eastwood, Ohio.
Ohio McCallon with his first three throw.
No, Pepperville, Ohio. He drills it.
He went to Eastwood High School, Pepperville, Ohio.
That's true. True. That's true.
My apologies, Marco Brown.
Directing traffic here.
He gives it to his buddy.
That's not his buddy. It's not his buddy. It's not his buddy. That's tiny grade.
They have beef.
That one loses, buddy. Jaha Jackson.
Oh, why to school? Oh, my. He got up.
Blocking foul.
Jaha got at least five feet in the air there for that layup.
Gets the block.
Shahi Jackson got out there and I'll tell you what.
He wants to dunk.
He wanted to dunk.
He did motion to dunk after that.
He wanted that dunk.
And if he would have got that dunk, I would have yelled.
I would have.
Go charges though.
Go charges for everyone.
Chaha Jackson.
At the line.
You want to know what's going through his head?
I hope I make this shot.
Buckets.
And his hopes.
Did not come true.
Misses the first.
Misses the first.
He would be shooting his second at the line here.
Jaha Jackson.
His brother is not played in the second half, presumably brother.
We're not too sure still.
But we're saying that.
Jahaha, ha, Jackson, as he's laughing, as he misses his second free throw.
I'll tell you what.
Coach Tommy Carlos hustling.
Oh, my goodness.
Some physical basketball here.
Coach Tommy Pazley needs to work on their free throws.
If you want to see some hustle players from East and West,
Don Gey and Carlos are the hustle guys.
Yeah.
And I'll tell you what.
If we want to add some lower to this team, I'll tell you what.
Donier Grant, he wants this team to win, but you know who's holding him back?
Markese-Marrett.
This is all hearsay.
This means nothing.
As we go to immediate timeout.
Yeah.
You listen to the radio for Hillsville.

It is a high-escoring ball game for the charge.
49 points ahead.
Good math out of you.
That's seven touchdowns in football.
Sure.
Considering make the extra points.
Sure.
Absolutely. We don't want to go for two there.
No, we don't.
Seven touchdowns.
Speaking of touchdown, shout out, charger football.
Love those guys.
It will be live Saturday at New.
At Ohio to Makin University.
As Donier Grant.
Wow.
Wow.
What do you move out of Donier Grant?
Donier Grant for the Phantoms.
Nice little spin move for the left hand.
Lay?
I'll tell you what.
They're the Phantoms, but Donier West has been a ghost all day.
If they played this in the first half,
it made me closer than what it was.
That's for sure.
CJ Yaring kicks it down to Stonebreaker in the paint.
Who's backing up Jaha Jackson.
Triple team did it is good.
That's a man's game.
Carter Stonebreaker.
Six foot seven.
225 from Versailles, Ohio, the red shirt freshman.
Oh, Donda Grant trying to get things going here.
Oh, lost the ball.
Upsies.
Out of bounds, Charger Basketball as Caleb Glazer comes in.
Number one.
Shout out Caleb.
The kid from Appleton, E.
high school in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Six foot eight, two, fifteen.
I'll tell you what if I was six foot eight?
I could probably reach the top drawer.
Sure.
Yeah, you can reach the top shelf too.
Oh, yeah.
So Stormbreaker's driving in.
He wants to score, and he does.
He won.
Pardon my voice. I'm losing it from all this electricity in the building.
That's Jahad Jackson's third blocking fellow, I think.
I see somebody strapping up for Hillsdale charges.
many name Michael App from Grand Rapids Michigan go Michigan from Grand Rapids Catholic Central
my roommate Zach Tetler lost them in the state finals sorry for him sorry shout
out Marine City Michigan as Stonebreaker shoots his free throw no good back iron but
Michael McCollum gets the board little troubles with the snap ah reach and foul by one of the
merit brothers the merits are back
The merits are back after receiving a demerit from their coach.
I like the wordplay out of you.
I try my hardest.
Mikey will be shooting a one-in-one here.
Mikey McCallum, more like Mikey got fouled again.
You know, I said that before, but I did.
Do you think it hit again?
Not as much as the first one.
My apologies.
Mikey McCallum number one, four.
She's one-on-one.
Two touchdowns.
For his free throw.
Drake's it.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful shot.
I don't think that Maurice Mitchell Merritt,
Maurice Merritt, sorry, knew it was a one-on-one.
Yeah, but it actually is a one-on-one.
No, he thought it was a one-on-one.
Oh, he did.
He just get ready for the miss.
St.Raeon-Macon McCollum.
Bangs another free throw.
This is beautiful basketball from the charge.
It's 92-39.
Eight points away from a hundred.
100 points is the goal for this game.
Everybody goes home with free chicken tenders.
As Donier.
Oh, up and over.
Donier, why has not, Donier not been playing all game?
Donier seems to be a bucket-getter.
You know, the whole team is playing eastern west,
but I'll tell you what, Donier West is going north and south.
Another foul here on Marco Brown for the Phantoms.
Marco Brown, more like Barco Town.
All right, we're going to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7.
You're with Colton Collin' Collin.
Charger basketball.
92-41.
We'll see after the break.
to the old ball game where we talk about the past of America's favorite pastime.
I'm T. Christensen.
Today we talk about the connection between baseball and Thanksgiving.
At one point, baseball, not football, was the American sport of Thanksgiving.
The games played on Thanksgiving Day were not entirely organized events,
but many clubs would come together to play to mark the end of the baseball season.
As the evening standard once wrote, quote,
In the afternoon, there were several scrub games, that is, games which the various clubs unite and play together.
The regular ball season is considered to close.
with Thanksgiving, though many games will doubtless be played throughout the winter when the weather
will permit, end quote. In 1887, a New York Times article advertised a Thanksgiving Day game to be played
on the polo grounds. Later, the Times cited 1887 as the origin of indoor baseball, which eventually
morphed into the game of softball. Shout out. Shout out to the Hillsdale College cheerleaders,
cheering their absolute hearts out in a dominating decisive victory by the Chargers.
Wow!
It's a very decisive and dominant victory.
92.41 Hillsdale charges.
51 points.
Michael App at the line here.
Michael App at the line.
See if you can make his first free throw the game.
Kid from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Shout out the Big G. Shout out the Big G.
I've been good.
We don't miss too many free throws here in Hillsdale, Michigan.
That's for sure.
You remember last time you said that?
Yeah, we missed.
missed. Hopefully, Michael App.
Doesn't hear me.
Michael App.
And he didn't hear me.
Didn't hear him.
Makes a second.
Hustled back on defense.
It'll be a tough...
Excuse me.
Sorry.
Don A. Grant has the ball.
Donnie Grant has makes some moves on Mr. App.
Kicks it.
To the American.
Jahat Jackson.
Up and loses it.
Gets fouled.
He lost the ball on the way up,
but he gets fouled.
I'll tell you.
It was a little goofy angle from here.
I thought he just banged it off the back of the backboard, but he didn't.
It's a foul, and Jahad Jackson gets the line for another opportunity to score points.
He's been scoring a lot of points for east-wise.
This is a guy who loves points.
Yeah.
And really, who doesn't?
I love points, playing.
Shout out Patrick Mahomes.
If you're listening.
Makes the first.
Yeah, shout out Patrick Mahomes if he's listening.
I don't know if he gets Radio Free Hills, the 101.
Where he's at?
And I'll tell you what, I know they're missing out.
If you don't have radio freehills, what are you doing?
I have no clue.
Shout out Wolfpack Pod.
Shout out.
And Jahad Jackson misses the second free throw.
He needs to get some shots up, but I'm going to be honest.
He needs to shoot some free throws a little extra after practice.
Lincoln McCollum getting harassed by those around him as he gets past the break.
Jacob.
Laser.
Laser with a laser.
Layup.
What a pass, I think, from Jacob Meyer.
96-42.
the charges.
It was always the chargers.
As, oh, Donnie Grant getting
shifty out there, misses the layup.
This is not a team that likes to pass.
No, a lot of iso ball.
East West, taking north-souths.
Oh, the Mayor Brothers.
The Merritt Brothers, first break.
Hey!
Hey! Nice, Lamp. Which Merritt was that?
Maurice Merritt? More like more points, Merritt.
The Merritt brothers.
9644.
Merritt brothers are trying to get some steals here,
and Maurice.
And fouls.
I'll tell you what.
But Marquise is getting after Maurice right now.
Sure.
Not happy with his brother's performance,
and I'm sure his parents love the inner-siblings' rivalry.
Yeah, a lot of brothers on this team.
If we, if we presumably think we're right here,
we got Jalen Jackson, and we got Jahad Jackson.
We think those are brothers.
Just because of the last names.
And I'll tell you what.
And we got Marquis Mert and Maurice Merritt.
The brothers stay together.
and Michael McCall makes his first pre-throw.
Do you think Gerald Tate is related to Andrew Tate?
I don't think so.
Andrew Tate lives in a foreign country.
Never mind.
Forget that.
Mikey's shooting a second here.
Makes the second.
98 to 44.
Wow, the charters are pretty good, I'd say.
Yeah, they're a pretty good ball team.
Up 54 points.
Marco Brown directing traffic, trying to find his buddy.
Donnie.
as Marco shoots his first shot of the second half.
Tough bucket, but misses.
Michael App with the ball.
A merit is guarding him.
Uh-oh.
Oh, Marco Brown gets a steel.
Marco Brown with a steel.
And it's a jump.
Jump.
Oh, they call a foul?
Oh, that's foul.
Is that a foul or a jump?
Sure.
Seems like a foul.
Because possession arrow is on our side.
Yeah, foul.
Fow.
Fow.
One of the merits throwing the ball into Marco Brown.
2.21 left.
Thank you all for listening.
It's been a great night here at Don Tibbitt's Potter Arena.
As Don Yee Graint.
Misses the shot.
Uh-oh.
Maurice Merritt.
Glazer.
Hey, aye, aye, yay.
Nice bucket from Glazer.
Bang, array.
Nice shot.
Beautiful shot.
As Hillsdale eclipses 100 points.
Wow.
100 to 44.
And Jaha gets found, driving to the lane.
Airballs a layup afterwards.
We don't need to mention that, though.
Doesn't matter.
The foul occurred before the shot.
He'll be shooting a 1-1-1 here at the line.
Uh-oh.
Jalen Jackson checks back in the game for Daneh Grant.
The Jackson voters are back on the floor again, presumably.
Uh-oh.
Jailen Jax is back.
Jaha Jackson.
It's worthy to be noted that Jailen Jackson is a hard over-hite player.
Sure.
Standing at 5'7, 6, presumably.
I give him a little less than that, but we can be generous here.
Jahad Jackson really needs to work on his street throws.
He needs to shoot them after practice.
Mike if we call him getting trapped here.
Yulks it down cord to his bloody glades.
And he's a big man.
Caleb Glazer.
Marco Brown with the ball.
Trying to find his roommate Jaha Jackson, presumably.
He seemed to have a good connection here.
If I had a dollar for every time we've said,
Presumably, I'd have probably about $75.
Sure.
As Marco Brown kicks it to Mikey McCollum, which isn't on his team, so that makes it a steal.
Oh, Jacob Meyer.
Jake Meyer.
Oh.
He gets blocked by Jah.
As he gets his own board, kicks it over.
Stolen by Marco Brown.
Oh, Jalen.
To his brother.
Oh.
Presumably.
Brother connection.
Jaha misses a shot.
Mikey McCallon with the board.
Because Mikey wants to yuck a shot.
A past on court.
Gives it a Michael lap.
One of the blue Nike's beautiful shoes.
Oh, stolen by Markey.
Marquis Merritt.
Pass the Jah.
Jaha doesn't dunk, but he lays it up.
Cutting the lead to...
What is that? 56.
I'm not very good of math, Colin.
That's all right, Cole. I think it's 56.
Shout out, Professor Murphy.
His Michael Ab has the ball.
Swings it to...
Stonebreaker.
To Meyer, to McCollum.
A young lineup in right now.
Oh, redshirt freshman.
Which means their second year of college.
Mikey McCollum.
Corner three.
Caw to three.
Bang a rang!
Hey!
Natives.
105 points for the Chargers.
27 seconds left.
Looking like Marco Brown wants to dribble it out.
Cut his losses.
Coach Pozley is probably saying something along the lines of let's score some more points.
I mean, Jahad Jackson is tired.
Jailin Williams.
Jihad Jackson is tired right now in the corner.
He was a bucket getter in the second half.
I'm not going to lie.
He was.
Oh, Jalen Jackson.
Oh.
Oh my gosh.
Heart over height.
Up.
And Kelly Glazer, still.
Three, two, one.
And the Chargers win the game.
105, 46.
Decisive victory.
Hey, you know what?
Thank you for listening to us.
Thank you.
Really appreciate it.
You're listening to Cole and Colin on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
