We are live here with Don Tibbitts Potter Arena for this matchup between the Hillsdale College Chargers and the Kentucky Wesleyan Wildcats. Yeah, really exciting matchup we've got here today. Hillsdale, unfortunately, on a slight bit of a losing streak, having just lost to Cedarville, just lost into Finley, who was number one in the conference, but that lost to Cedarville was a huge upset for them.

They are definitely in need of a win right here, and kind of an unfortunate matchup playing Kentucky Wesley and who has been absolutely phenomenal this year. Yeah, they're number two in the conference right now, right behind Finley. Yeah, just really, really unfortunate timing for this, but an exciting game nonetheless. Yeah, coming off a couple wins as well for Kentucky Wesley,

and they have won, it appears to be five straight, so kind of a tale of two teams, one that is on a bit of a skid, another that's won a bunch, And this is a team from Kentucky Wesleyan that is coming off of GMAC championship last year. As we mentioned before the break, an exciting matchup. Kentucky Wesleyan's second right now in the conference just behind Finley. And the story for them early on was a couple of weird losses. You saw them a team that has won five straight and is. been getting hot at the right time that is led by four returning players on that starting lineup from last year that won on the G-Mack. Yeah. Just really unfortunate timing for Hillsdale to be facing the team that's absolutely on fire

because they're on a losing streak. They just lost the Lake Erie, a game they shouldn't have lost, and just lost in Cedarville, another game they should have lost. And they did lose to Finley in a really close matchup here. Who is the number one team in the conference? So that should have been a good game, but the other two losses, definitely teams they should be beating nine times out of ten. Yeah, definitely out of character for the charges, a team that,

normally bounces back, doesn't lose many games in the regular season. So see how they respond. Good thing is, it's Saturday. Don Tibitz is going to be rocking and they're at home. One of the things to tell the starting lineup for Kentucky Wesleyan, we have Quentin Tolls Jr. Guard. We have Kennedy Miles, Edward Jones Jr., Fatie Huick from Turkey, and then Logan McIntyre rounding out their starting lineup.

And a couple of foreign guys from Kentucky Wesleyan. A couple of names that you look at is in that Al-Awecky-Wiwik. as a radio broadcaster and you're like, that just doesn't look right. Yeah, they have a guy, Alex Sinkovich, from Belarus, and then as we mentioned, Fetihuik, the starting big man for them from Turkey. So going out and scouting abroad are the Wildcats.

Yeah, so the first game, probably at Hillsdale College, has had this entire year where there is a guy, there are people on the other roster that are the same size as C.J. Yarian and Big Red. Yeah, for sure. if you guys have tuned into this broadcast, you know our keys to the game always for the Chargers or their ability to get those big guys great looks when they have the size advantage, but

Fatihua, a guy who starts at 6, 7, 2.30, and then another starter for them, Logan Akitar, with some size as well, and Edward Jones, a bigger guard. And then a couple guys on the bench, like you had mentioned, at 610, 2 610 guys that might come in to help them if they need to. Yeah, the good news is that those guys don't seem to play a lot,

don't seem to appear in a lot of games. So the 610 might not show up today, but they might use it just defensively, just trying to match up with this Hillsdale Charger team. Yeah, for sure. And then another key, too, is that as we mentioned with Finley last week, not as deep a rotation for Kentucky Wesleyan, but a lot of guys that score the basketball. Quinn Tolls averages 13. Logan McIntyre averages 13. Kennedy Miles also averages 13, and Edwards Jones Jr. at 12.8.

Yeah, for Hillsdale, one of the keys today is that turnover margins, the one place where they are in a positive, and Kentucky Wesleyan has a negative turnover margin. So they need to dominate those turnovers. Take care of the basketball and get a lot of steals. Yeah, I think one thing that the Chargers has been, their downfall on the skit is those turnovers. We saw it here live against Finley where that press was able to speed them up, get them out of their game.

The key is get to your game, make your open threes, and you're going to find a way to win. Yeah, Hill's still definitely one of the best half-court basketball teams. The question is, is always, can they get the ball across half? That was really where they lost it against Finley and has struggled in the previous couple of games. The same starters for the Chargers as always. We have senior leader Joe Ruder, Big Rick, down low for him.

Ashton Janowski, the junior at point guard, Logan Beeson, and Charles Woodham's, their leading score. Yeah, some really exciting basketball here as we are about to tip off. There'll be Eric Radicevich against Big Number 19. Fatih Huick. The name really looks like fate. Fatih Huick, where's Big Rick? We are underway here at Don Tim. It's Potter Arena and it's going to go to the Wildcats.

Point guard Kennedy Miles setting up the offense. Top of the key, Edward Jones swings it there to Logan McIntyre on the left wing. He'll still here starting out in their traditional man defense. They usually come out in this and they'll switch maybe once or twice a game, but 90% of the time they play in man. Up top, Quintolz, download a fatigue. Houick working on Big Rip, a great matchup. Down low, turns, can't find anything.

Back to the middle good. Hook shot falls. Your score two zero here. wildcats early. Yeah, he made that one really, really easy. Big Rick definitely needs to put a little more pressure on him next time. Top of the key, Big Rick, back on offense. Right-wing Janowski, back down low to Big Rick

on the block. Working on the smaller defender. Back top, Janowski, top of the key, swings it to Router in the corner. Working on Miles. Backing him down with 10 on the shot clock on the block. Rooter, fade away in the mid-range. Won't go, rebound Woodhams. Second chance for the Chargers here. Top of the key, Big Rick, finds Logan Beeson

Open, wing, three ball, good. Logan Beeson with the three. Your score 3 to 2. Offensive rebounding. Huge. It's an extra possession for an offense. Stolen away by Ruter. McIntyre can't hold it.

Ruter in transition. Tough Lab won't go. Gets his own rebound. Back up and he's fouled. Another offensive rebound. Now that went on a transition bucket. A great steal there by Ruter, which he's had a couple phenomenal games in a row.

Even though the Chargers have lost, he stayed strong. Yeah, we talked about it here. Last time we were home against Finley, when they started to come back, it was a spark from Router on defense, gets the quick steal on McIntyre there, goes back the other way where he's filed, then he'll get two from the line. Yeah. Kentucky Wesleyan here early. Big man in the paint, not coming out and guarding the three. Hillsill's big men do like to shoot that three ball every once in a while, and they're going to need to hit some to get him to fade out and open up things down the lane. First shot up and no good for Router. 1846 to play in this first half, three to two, charges up.

Second one for Routers up and pure. Your score four to two here. Chargers with an early. lead back down the other way they find McIntyre top of the key Jones Jr. On the right wing at Quentin Tolls. Tollick up top working on Big Rick. Top of the key tolls working on Woodhams. Drives us the right wing step back three ball Tolls will go. He looks so very in form and very in control there up against this charger defense. Once again I think they need to be a little bit more aggressive. Tolls working, top the key, gets the screen from Huyick, swings it to the corner on Miles. He'll take the three over, won't go. Tough rebound by Jones, gets the off into board, up, won't go. Finds Big Rick, top of the key. He'll take the heat check, three ball. Wedgie. I told you they were going to shoot some threes. They love doing that in transition, and it just gets stuck in the back of the basket. That's going to be possession arrow towards the Chargers, I believe. Yeah, Kentucky Wesleyan won the tip, so the possession is going to go to the charges. Should be the Chargers, yeah, they're going to take it out here,

checking in Mikey McCollum for Logan Beeson. And that was weird because that was one of the more covered threes. Like we said, they were backing off, took the transition heat check. Still 6 to 5 here, baseline out of bounds for Janowski. Yeah, CJ Erion will probably have a couple of those. He checked threes when he gets into. I mean, just dominant. And they've been great towards the end of this stretch. A tough loss. We mentioned that the game against Asper was going to be a tough one. Couldn't find a way to win that. But I tell you what, the ladies team has really revived their season, kind of like Kentucky Wesleyan, where you start off a couple bad losses. But

in basketball, when you start to find that rhythm, it can be dangerous. Yeah, this is the best Coastville basketball team I've seen since I've been here. Most as a team, I mean, they've had some individual stars here and there, Sipping Mills, Grace Chuchet, we're both here tonight watching these games. But this year, I feel like they're playing like a team. They have a lot more depth. They have a better rotation, and Coach Brianna's really got, really got them playing really good. Yeah, senior Caitlin Splean hit a thousand points on Thursday against Cedarville.

Pretty exciting for the Chargers. We're going to bring it back here. baseline out of bounds for Kentucky Wesleyans. They'll 6 to 5 here with 1546 to play in the first half. Miles to inbound here. Jucco transfer from Evansville, Indiana. Yeah, and Hillstall brought in their other big man, the 610, C.J. Yerian. So it doesn't get any little lack of size here for Hillsdale. You go from 69 to 610. Yerian, a little bit skinnier, but not skinny. Yeah, Ringo only at 6.6.215 for Kentucky Wesleyan. Back the other way, Tolls working on Woodham's in the mid-range. Turn around, won't go.

No easy passes when Joe Ruter is on the floor. Yeah, it looks really early here like Kentucky Wesleyan's offensive strategy today is going to be get the mismatches, screens try to get the screen roll try to get somebody off who should not be guarding the big man a lot of ISO basketball for them early as well the five points that they have were tough baskets yeah 100% here a little bit of stoppage trying to figure out i think they're talking about the shot clock here resets the 14 and the baseline out of balance for gray and the wildcats in the corner gets it into miles

working on woodhams drives to the middle tries to get a put mid-range they're going to say woodham's got him on the arm What I'm definitely not happy with that one. I thought he got kind of a clean look. But I'm going to draw the foul nonetheless. Two shots here at the line for Kennedy Miles, the fifth year senior guard from Burlington, North Carolina, one of their leading scores. And early, it seems like he's been their offense.

Yeah, 100%. I mean, dominant here early. But still having to have tough looks here. Like, they're not easy shots. He's just been making them. Chargers really going after the basketball, trying to get some steals. first one's up and good for miles your score 8 to 6 here with 1446 in the first half

We knew that they were going to come out. Kentucky Wesleyan's sinking that big guy in, trying to help on the cuts,

but it's going to open up some threes for these big guys. 16 on the shot clock miles, top of the key, working on Woodams again. Screen coming from Ringo. He'll take the tough pull-up mid-range off the screen, rebound batted around, secured by Router. McWinney pushing it back the other way. Swings it to the corner. Woodham's will take the spot up three ball in and out.

Rebound cleared by McIntyre. Another great look for the chargers offensively so far, but getting a lot of open threes here. Miles swings it back up top, right wing McIntyre, swings it to gray on the left wing guarded by McCollum. Download a ringo working on Woodham's on the mismatch. On the block, Woodham's staying close. Tough shot, has to force it up and it goes. 11 to 9 now charges up too. Yeah, I mean, it was actually some great defense there by Woodham's.

I think that later in the game, number 34, is going to draw some fouls offensively because of his Arm bar. He's getting that arm extended, and I think that in a moment's still he falls, he's going to get that charge call on him. Offense setting up McCallum. He'll take the left wing. Three wide open won't go. Rebound, cleared by Miles. Coming back here on the left wing, screen by Ringo, top of the key. Miles again working on Yerian. Swings into the corner, open shot. Mitchell, corner ball, won't go. Fines nothing but there there. Rebound by Yerian. That great pass there, but horrible shot. McCallum here working in the mid-range. Looking for something.

Finds Woodham's on the right wing. Ruter in the corner. Working on Mitchell. Drives to the middle, spins back baseline. Tough take, Router, good. 13 to 9 now, Chargers keeping that lead.

Chargers notoriously for this. Keeping that slow lead, not extending it to 15, 20 points, but always keeping it and just don't give it up. McIntyre spinning on Ruder in the mid-range. Tough shot over Yerian. They're going to say got him.

Yerian's hands straight up. bottom on the body it looks like. Yeah, unfortunate foul there for Yerian. McIntyre kind of out of control spun back to the mid-range where Yerian had his hands up, but when you're a bigger player like that on a smaller guard, if you touch him, they're going to call it. Yeah, and Yerian are going to have to check out here because he does have two fouls, so they're going to try to get him out of the game, saving for later. 13 to 9 here.

First shot from McIntyre is up in good. Wildcat's still perfect from the line, 13 to 10 now. Some subs for the Chargers. Garrett Boltee, Logan Beeson, as well. with Caleb Glazer, that third big man. He is definitely the smallest. Not small by any means, but he's the one guy that Kentucky Wesleyan has the size advantage on.

He has 6-8-215 sophomore from Wisconsin as the second shot is up and good for McIntyre. 13 to 11, charges up two with 1233 to play. McWenny coming back the other way on the right wing, top of the key, Glazer. Trying to find something here, set up that offense, Garrett Boltey on the wing. He'll take the three ball.

Boltee, we'll get it. Big shot there by a big man for the Chargers. 16 to 11 now. T-shirts flying and Don Tibbitts. Back the other way, Toll's working on Woodhams. Trying to find Ringo. He'll work on Glazer here on the block. Fines Tolls back to Ringo.

Great pass. In the mid-range, good. 16 to 13 now. With 12 to play, Chargers up three. Screen and roll, screen and roll, screen and roll. It's all I've been doing all day. Voltae back in the corner here for the Chargers, looking for something.

Turns it over to Greenwood. Gray, great steel. He's in transition. Working on McWinney takes it to the cup. Layup, good. 16 to 15 now. Chargers lead only one with 1140 to play. I can't do that there. Can't just give him the easy basket on the easy turnover. Top of the key, Woodham's finds Beeson on the left wing. We're going to set up that offense finds. Woodham's, he'll take the pull up three ball, won't go. Rebound cleared by Gray. Looks like he got hit on the head. He seems to be all right. Graves a rebound. No stoppage there. 16 to 15. Chargers up one.

Kentucky wasn't with a chance to take their first lead. Yeah, and he might have traveled there, but I think it was good on the refs not to call the travel or the foul and not let it play. Ringo back down low, working Glazer gets him to jump and he's foul. Ringo seems to be their offense here early. Yeah, screen roll, screen and roll, screen and roll. Your score 16 to 15. Two shots here for Terence Ringo is going to spark off the bench. Yeah. Big Man, they've been getting those switches on the screen and roll and getting those big man involved. Getting them on some smaller guards or even on the power forwards or maybe 6'4, I'm trying to take that size advantage. Yeah, it's been Quentin Tolls and Kennedy Miles as the two veteran guards for them in those screen and rolls. And if you back off, they're going to take that mid-range.

But if you trap, they are finding a way to find the big man, and Ringo has been able to convert a couple times here early. Defensively for Kentucky Wesleyan, they are not allowing easy points to the pain. They are forcing the Chargers to shoot, but the Chargers are okay with that. The Chargers love shooting the free ball when it's open, and they've hit so many already, and they haven't even gotten their shooters hot yet. Yeah, we saw Beeson, one of their best shooters make one, but other than that, it's been the two big men, Garibolti, with a nice shot in the corner along with C.J. Yerian on the wing.

Yeah. Other than that, the points have come from Joe Ruter steals and quick transition baskets for the Chargers. First shot from Ringo up and good. They're still perfect from the line to making the free ones count 16 to 16 here. Chargers with some of their subs still in trying to stop this little bit of a run here from Kentucky Wesleyan. Interesting shooting for him. Shooting a yokech style. Yeah, that second one is also up and good.

The first lead for Kentucky Wesleyan since the beginning of the game, 17 to 16 here. McWinney back the other way, boltie on the right wing. Swings it to Glazer, top of the key, left wing Wudoms. Post touch, down low, boltie on the block. Swings it to Beeson. He'll drive, nothing. Swings at the top of the key, Woodham's. Left corner, boltie.

He drives to the middle. Beeson open three. Three ball fading away. Won't go. Rebound cleared by Tolls. Another three-point shot for the Chargers here. Tolls setting up that offense working on Boltee here. A little bit of a mismatch sling to the corner, finds Gray.

Trying to get it down low to Ringo who's working on Glazer. Denial defense won't let it happen. They finally get it to him in the corner. Ringo working on Glazer. Drives, baseline. He falls down. Chargers are going to be able to control it there on a jump ball, but it's going to go back to Kentucky Wesley and with 11 on the shot clock.

Yeah, great defense there. Ringo, I talked about it earlier. He was kind of putting out. That arm into players, that time trying to lower the shoulder, and Glazier just takes a step back and lets him fall over. Pulled the chair on him, as they say there, got him to fall. Great defense, and he's going to sub out after some good minutes for Fatihouik. Another big man. Corner three ball there from McIntyre fading away won't go. Tough rebound, fought around. Tipped out. Beeson controls it. 17 to 16 here. Chargers down one. Beeson back the other way. Fines McWinney on the right wing, guarded by Miles. Boltey on the right wing, swings at top of the key, Glazer.

He finds McWinney. He'll take the three ball. We'll go. Cole McWenny. 19 to 17, chargers regain the lead. Yeah, Cole McWenny is a volume shooter. He doesn't actually shoot that often, but when he does, he seems to be money. Miles working on McWenney on the left wing, finds Hewick on the top of the key, back to Miles.

Working on McWenney, finds Jones in the corner, trying to get a post-touch again. They find Hewitt. Back to Jones. He'll take the tough. Pull up mid-range. Good. Tough shot there, 19 to 19, all square at Don Tivitz. Yep.

A deep two with somebody in your face. You're okay with that shot as a coach. You can't be upset at that at all. It's a great shot there by Jones. Chargers coming back the other way. 20 on the shot clock. Top of the key, Beeson, finds McWinney on the left wing down low. Post touch to Woodham's.

The big guard working on Miles. Tough tank. And, oh, almost an and one there from Woodham's. He wanted it, but he's going to get two shots to the line. Yeah, he fumbled the ball, got it back in his hands. and still almost made the basket. Yeah, Woodham's like we talk about on this broadcast a lot is just a big guard. He's hard to guard with those smaller, less physical players, and he's not afraid to post up.

Yeah, he's like a tight end. He's kind of a matchup nightmare. You don't want to guard him with a guard because he's too big, but you don't want to guard him with a forward because he's too fast. Yeah, first shot for him's up in no good. Chargers bring their starting unit back in with Big Rick and Joe Ruter, along with point guard, Ashton Janowski. Yeah, and those guys have gotten valuable minutes on the bench, kind of regaining their energy, and Hillstall has maintained this time.

Yeah, something they weren't able to do against Finley because that press was causing so many issues. So good to see the start risking a break and hope to go on a run here. Woodham's second shot also up and no good. Hewick tipped it around, able to save it back to Miles. 19 to 19 still all square here. Jones Top of the Key finds Tolls. He'll find Hewick in the mid range, guarded by Big Rick. Already closely here, trying to move.

Look like he walked. Wudams tips it around. 14 on the shot clock. Tolls will reset high screen. Working deep, pull-up. Three ball won't go. Rebound long. Janowski clears it.

No. It Kentucky doesn't even been hot from the line, and the Chargers had one miss miss miss both of them in one round. You know, got to make those ones count. Chargers haven't suffered from it yet. Still up two points, but that could definitely come back late to bite him to bite. Yeah, Chargers historically, a great free throw shooting team, and even on this season, they've been great. but Woodham Smith, too, as we mentioned earlier. Still 2119 Chargers up two, Gray, with a chance to tie, 748 to play.

And what do the Chargers need to do to get that offense kind of more consistent? I mean, the Chargers have been shooting the three ball, and the three ball, you're right. It is inconsistent. But I like it. They're a good three-point shooting team, and they've been having open looks. I would say the only other thing that they need to do is crash the basket. Kentucky Wesleyan has a lot of people who crash the basket defensively on a, on a dribble drive

and they're definitely lanes to have a cut back behind and have an easy wide-up and layup or a guy like Radissovich or Joe Ruder to have an easy dunk. It's pretty interesting to see that Miles is one of their leading rebound guys in this game so far. The big guy's doing great job boxing out the chargers and then allowing the guards, like you said,

to crash in there, grab the rebound. Gray here with his first shot is up and good. Still put it from line 2120 here with 748 to play in this first half. Great content. here. I mean, you look at that and you say there's a pretty big disparity, but it's not the

refs haven't been uneven. It's that the Chargers haven't given them opportunities to call files. Yeah, and it'll be interesting to see if that's a talking point. Like we mentioned, chargers don't change anything, keep shooting, and they've expanded their lead to six. Yeah, and with this shooting, you saw something that you don't see very often. Wide open drive for the basket for Cole McQuinney. I mean, all this shooting has made them cover the free ball. They've spent a lot more spread out that last two drives, and they've opened lanes down in the middle.

Now defensively, you definitely have to change some things for the Chargers. Probably what Coach Bradley is talking about in this timeout right here. But on that last drive, finally able to get a steal there and cause a turnover for this Kentucky Wesleyan team, who isn't in the negative turnover margin? Yeah, I think Coach Bradley was pumped about the way, like we said, those triple handoffs, those screen and rolls have been vital to this Kentucky Wesleyan offense. And a nice hedge by Glazer got back and stole it. That's been the difference early as can the Chargers defend it?

Woodham's and the Chargers offense has been led by Cole McWinney on this stretch. Yeah, I mean, he's absolutely hot. A three-pointer, a nice dribble drive for an easy layup, and then a nice dribble drive with a beautiful assist that you wish the picture could show up in the statute for. Look like John Stockton on that one. Up top of the key McCollum, tough pass, finds,

tipped around back to him. 13 on the shot clock. McWenny on the right wing, he's driving. Feeling a tough take, and he's filed on the shot. Cole McWenney has been the spark the Chargers needed, and he'll get two shots from the line. Putting his ball in his hands right now is what they want to do. It seems to be force-feeding them.

And you see the chargers themselves. They're running a little picking roll with Glazer, the athletic big man. And it's been working. McWenny getting that guy behind him on the screen as they are not switching it. And he's finding a way to find a pass. That one he was fouled on a pull-up mid-range. Two shots here for him. I mean, the guy was behind him. There's no way that he was blocking that shot with McCuony's momentum. And just decided, hey, I'm not going to let him get an open two-pointer. I'm going to hope the ref doesn't see me kind of clip him. a little bit. McWenny's staying hot makes the first one 80% free throw shooter doesn't get many like we mentioned more of a three-point shooter but first one's up in good 35 26-26-2-33 to play. Miles, only a 74% free throw shooter, as well as he scores from the field. They still have a miss from the line, though. We'll see when that first miss happens if it does. McCollum subbed out upset with the call, but he's been playing great. Chargers are going to keep McWinney in as well. Yeah, they subbed out pretty much everybody, and usually when they do that, they take McQuinney out and put their starting guard in Esh and Janowski. But with how hot McQuini has been, they did not to take him out and say,

All those three-pointers has Kentucky Wesleyan really worried and they stopped playing their regular style of defense and left open that backdoor cut that Holtzell loves to find. Like we said, he's a big physical guard, and Gray used that to his advantage to get the push-off. Yeah, you can also feel the momentum here, because the Chargers fans are packed. you know, start hitting shots every once in a while, but wouldn't really change much for the Chargers. A lot of things been going right and a very, very smart play there to, after the shots going, the clock's still running and able to kind of get the last basket here because they just waited to throw that inbound pass. Very smart play by the Chargers. Inbound goes to

McWenny. 20 seconds left. 13 on the shot clock. Finds Big Rick. Driving and he's fouled. tough defense by Ringo, Big Rick, shot it after airball. But it doesn't matter. Shoot that one during draws the foul. That's going to turn the shot clock off here, which is huge for the charges. They get the last opportunity headed into the half with at least a nine-point lead.

What is the keys for Kentucky Wesleyan? Second team in the conference to keep that first place hope alive. I mean, they've let the Chargers shoot so well from three.

They played the paint very, very well in the first half and allowed that three ball with Chargers shot so well if they came out of it. And then Chargers further to find open lane. The Kentucky Wesleyan just needs to play better on defense. They were playing originally too loose, and now they're playing too tight. You need to find somewhere in that midground if they want to make up any defensive ground because the Chargers have done whatever they want on offense.

They have 42 points right now in the first half. Yeah, it's been excellent coaching performance, in my opinion, from Coach Kevin Bradley with the Chargers because early pick and rolls, dribble handoffs killing the Chargers. They had no answer for it. They just had to hope Kentucky Wesleyan was missing those great looks. Second half of that first half, you started to see them changing things up, hedging more, switching more, making more plays on it, and that was a huge difference. And then offensively, like we said, we're going to have to make some threes.

They took them, made them. That opens up everything, as you said, Kentucky Wesleyan has to extend that defense out, which early you saw they didn't want to. Yeah, and that first half, I mean, I thought it was a great coaching decision. I agree with you. They were having those screen roles. And so what they did was they took Joe Ruter, who was on an off ball guy, and they said, hey, your job is as soon as he, you see that screen.

You cover the role, both of the other two guys hedge and whoever the big man is, go cover Joe Ruter's guy and let Joe Ruder take the gun on the big man because he can do it. He has the size. Originally, that dominant offense was led by Ringo and he had eight points. That was where all the points were coming from. Yeah, he was a great spark, not a starter for them. He transferred like he talked about at the beginning, but he has done a fantastic job of just being that presence down there. He's not the biggest player either, which is surprising.

Only 6-6-215, obviously not small, but compared to the chargers, but he was able to get. get it on those rolls where he had the mismatch. Yeah, Chargers, on the other hand, leading scorers today, Joe Ruder, with nine points, and he also has two steel. I believe that he had both two baskets off those two steals, so points off turnover is huge for the Chargers. Other than that, Logan Beeston and Mikey McCollum, the two three-point shooters. Both have eight points today. Both have been pretty hot for the Chargers, and then Cole McQuinnie, a guy who everybody loves to see ball.

one of the nicest guys ever and he's a great basketball player and he's been balling today having himself a game yeah we saw Janowski who also great point guard does a great job facilitating that offense but when the chargers went on their run it was McWinney and he was able to get in and stay and great again on the coach Kevin Bradley to keep him in if you got a guy playing like that you got to be able to keep him in and he and Glazer in that pick and roll a couple bench guys looked fantastic yeah a couple guys who do play every game but they don't play a lot and just a spark off the bench, which is phenomenal to see. Bench points, when you get to the tournaments like the March Maddenous tournament, and you look at bench point, that's usually a key

indicator of wins. Yeah, the Chargers, very charger-esque basketball here early. A lot of guys with eight points. Not a team that's going to have a guy take over a game typically, at least in my time here, and it's great to see them playing team basketball because that's when they win. Yeah, that is, 100% when they win. And we're right at the back half of that first. half like you were talking about playing better defense too. Yeah, and the big key to that, I think, has been Joe Ruter's offensive aggressiveness. He is a guy that obviously can shoot the basketball well, but he is so good at driving and finishing with both hands, finished a couple tough left-handed layups, and he's a guy that

I think is going to stay aggressive in the second half. Yeah, a guy who I would think would get hot this half is Charles Woodham's just had some open looks for three, and on the season he's been a great three-point shooter, but he hasn't hit any. Look for him to get really, really hot this second half. We are underway with the second half inbound. Goes to Ashton Jannowski and the Chargers have it. 42, 33, as we mentioned, they are up nine. Corner Woodhams.

Dumps down early, post-touch, big Rick. Working on, Hayek. Driving, spinning, tough physical floater. Rattles around, won't go, rebound. Hewick. Yeah, Hewick being very, very physical there. I thought kind of lucky not to draw the foul on the ground. Top of the key here, Miles.

Miles working on Janowski, that screen and roll, and he left early. Like we said, that screen and roll game is huge, and Hewick just left early, and they call the moving screen. Yeah, he left early, and I think he got both hands shove on there. I think the combination of the two is what made the refs call it. And Kentucky Wesleyan's basketball head coach, kind of a hothead as I've heard in previous years. Very upset with that call.

maybe not the best dribbler, but a freak athlete out there. I mean, we've seen him get up and have a block about halfway up the backboard. He gets some height on those jumps. They've been slightly better on offense, but the defense, The charges have got basket after basket. Charles Woodham's taking it to the cup. See how it ends up here. Janowski bringing it back the other way. Finds Yerian. Backdoor cut. Janowski drops it.

You're probably going to set up a different offense here. Chargers have come out in his own defense. The last two possessions had one steel and one great team. defensive stop on a rebound on a forced shot. And so here you're going to set up a different offense. You're going to say, hey, let's get the passes down. Let's get three guys in the middle and spread them out a little bit and try to get that ball moving.

Yeah, you have to assume if you're Kentucky Wesleyan's coach, you are calling two plays. One if they're in zone, one if they're in man, have them ready. And interesting to see Ringo still not checking in. No. I mean, he was a fantastic all night and he's just not going to go. They liked their offense with a small ball. Chargers are going to keep Big Rick in where they have the advantage. It's a really, really interesting choice against the zone, not to have any kind of big presence in the middle, but a choice nonetheless.

Defense collapse looks like he might have taken the layup, decides to dish it down to Joe Ruter for a great take. And every one of his layups has been with his left hand.

He's a right-handed player, but great versatility. Tuggy Wesley and drawn up their best play with two seconds, hoping to have heartbreak here at Don Tibbitts-Potterina for the Charger Faithful. And if you're Hillsdale, number one, don't foul. Don't give them opportunities to get an easy basket. And number two, stay behind them. You have to stay in between them in the basket because even if this is going to be, if you get a half court shot up, make the half court shot hard.

Yeah. The only unfortunate thing for the Chargers is that Center CJ Yerian has fouled out, but you still do have Big Rick, Big 6-9 Center, who is the regular starter in the game. Yeah, and Ringo, like we mentioned, the only reason the files would come to play is if we went overtime, and they played most of that second half without him,

and if he gets one here, they're going to have to go back to Smallball, which is weird. Fatih Eweik, I don't know if he is maybe injured potentially or what they have elected not to go with him. Yeah, we haven't seen him in a very, very long time. Kind of killed confusion there, no really reason for it, no logic,

And a couple of big threes take the life out of this arena. Yeah, I mean, that second one, in hand in his face by Charles Woodham's, knocked down three by tolls. He's been hitting those all game when they've mattered and just been a dominant player at that three ball. Chargers have been here before, though. They were down most of that second half.

You hate to see the overtime start like this for them, but I tell you what, they have an opportunity to keep fighting, keep getting this game back to where it needs to be for them. And they're sticking with their same line of Pullman, when he playing significant minutes, and Ringo still not falling out for the wildcats. Yeah, I think that you're going to look to have to get a three-pointer here. I mean, you're down six, so then you have to have either two three-pointers, but three-toes, and I think that, you know, Kentucky Wesleyan's going to score again. You're probably looking to get a three-pointer here if you can at all. Yeah, it looked bleak for the Chargers in that second half, though, and they were able to make something happen. And it started with that and one from Big Rick. He doesn't have the size advantage anymore with Ringo in, who is smaller, but he's a much better post-defendant than anyone else they have.

They do have the ball. 324 to play, and I'm excited the way this one's going to finish it. It's been a heck of a game. A six-point game here. Two possessions. It's been tough for the Chargers, just dagger three-pointers from Kentucky Wesley, and when they need it most to expand that lead, Chargers haven't hit many big shots.
