The following is a special presentation of WRFH Sports.
The crowd is roaring.
It's a sold-out game here.
Passes outside to Tavon.
Tavon takes the three, got that one.
Back-to-back threes for the Chargers league.
Still Charger Basketball on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM starts now.
Hello and welcome to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
You are listening to Charger Basketball.
I am Gordy, I'm Reed.
And tonight we have for you an interleague matchup between your Hillsdale Chargers and the O'DU
Panthers.
Certainly looking to be a good matchup this evening.
O'DU coming in at 3 and 2 coming to play your hometown chargers.
Yeah, chargers are off to a hot start, 6 and 1.
Off to an absolute heater to start the year, ranked 14th in the nation in Division 2.
Coming off a big win against GVSU on the road.
Definitely a big win.
Interstate rivalry.
You always want to win those games in your home state.
That was a big win for us.
The Chargers are looking to start off G-MAC conference play the right way.
A couple of things to highlight going into this game.
One fun thing we noticed about how to use roster.
Three people from out of the country.
Yeah, I think that's a big development going on.
I know in the Division I level, didn't expect to see it on Division II basketball,
but they do have a few foreign-born plays.
players. Yeah, pretty fun. We got a guy coming in from Alberta, Canada, one from Galloway,
Ireland, and another from Sydney, Australia. Oh, a fourth from Netherlands.
Netherlands. And I mean, those are not short trips. I don't know if they went home for the holidays.
Don't know what holidays they have. Yeah, true. I mean, Thanksgiving, they don't have.
A couple of players to highlight, obviously, for your Chargers leading score, Charles Woodham's, the senior,
13.4 a game. Big physical guard, just getting it done.
Yeah, I mean, that's a, that guy's a problem. He's been our leading score this year.
And another guy I want to highlight here for the Chargers is going to be Logan Beeston.
I mean, he is lighting it up downtown, shooting 42.6% on 54 attempts this year.
And that's been a huge part of our success is our three-point shooting this year.
I tell you what, what a change too, I believe he redshirted.
last year coming in starting his first year of eligibility pretty impressive to see that yeah that's
huge to be able to shoot the ball that well in your first year starting getting good looks
super excited to see where here his career takes him as a shooter with the chargers on the other side
of the ball for odieu leading score elijah hinton the big man red shirt junior from newark
ohio transferred from malone college averaging 13.8 he'll give you a couple blocks
just an all-around big man for them.
Yeah, shooting, not taking a ton of threes,
but shooting four for 10 from downtown.
So he's got it in his bag.
Yeah, he's got 53%, 40% from three,
leaves a little bit desired at the free throw line.
But for a big man, that's not bad.
He's 69%.
Yeah, he seems to be averaging about seven rebounds.
Just kind of doing it in all facets.
Another one of their leading scores.
Transfer from West Florida, Jawan, Weather Spoon.
Another big guy averaging seven rebounds, 12.6.
early looking at this it seems to be a key for the chargers is shutting down the paint looks yeah it's
gonna be a tall task for them but i think they can get it done today with the big men down low for the
chargers i'm expecting a big game out of uh c jy yarion and big rick yeah we'd love to see them
you know kind of take over charges obviously known for their three point passing ability all that
but getting some some paint touches and defending the pain is going to be a big key early
And then making the threes.
You know we're going to take them.
So just getting good looks, not forcing them, passing the ball and getting the open ones.
Yeah, trusting your shooters to go get it done for you.
Another key to this game, I would say.
Odu scoring margin.
We're looking at that.
82 points per game.
Pretty high for college basketball.
Yeah, they are scoring at a good clip there.
It looks like in their losses so far, they have.
have given in their loss against Missouri
SNT they gave up 91 and in their loss to Roosevelt they gave up 67 so
in the loss against SNT just a lot of points given up and then they're clamped down
defensively against Roosevelt but just couldn't score the basketball so I think for them
just looking to be more consistent on the defensive end yeah for sure it seems to be in their
loss and it's been a problem and then teams maybe easily shutting down that offense but when
They win, they win big, and they score a lot.
They do score a lot of points.
I'm looking at this game versus Penn State Beaver.
112 points.
I mean, that is an absolute score run-up.
Got after them early.
That was their last game on the 26th.
Another little fun fact.
Looks like they went to Puerto Rico.
Or Puerto Rico came to them.
Yeah.
Puerto Rico Pedros and Puerto Rico Bayamon.
That's fun.
That is a lot of fun.
and looked like not so much the first one,
but the second one looked to be a good game.
Yeah.
Look at Puerto Rico.
Getting basketball in there.
They're loving it.
I like that.
That is a fun little fact.
A lot of foreign ties from OdeU.
A lot of ties from outside of U.S. borders.
And you know what?
It's good for the sport.
Yeah, we love to see basketball growing.
I think one thing that I've noticed is that in the Olympics,
USA used to be a lock that we won.
Now everyone is kind of closing the gap.
Even, especially,
in women's basketball.
Out of a few close games there for the women.
I think that used to be something that the U.S. women just kind of went in.
Don't get me wrong, they still dominated.
But it was a little bit of a tougher road for the men and women this year.
Good thing we have that guy named Steph Curry.
Yeah, great young player.
Old player.
Well, old player.
Now, but he's a great little player.
He's a shooter, and you know what, I think he'd fit in on this Charger team quite well.
Yeah, I would.
Lots of cuts, lots of pass, lots of screens.
Chargers are looking to do all that.
tonight here at home great little crowd here on a Thursday afternoon girls just had a nail
nail biter nail biter come from behind victory winning that 64 to 62 a few big shots down down the
stretch and really locking it on defense to get the win there yeah the last second shot from odu
rimmed out no good yeah that i mean that was that was that was ginormous that putback attempt
in and out that was i mean my heart dropped for a moment there about the chart
Chargers are, I believe that's the first conference game for the Lady Chargers, so they're starting off on the right foot.
Hopefully the men's can follow suit.
Yes.
We're about to be underway the national anthem here soon.
Don Tibbitt's Potter Arena.
Looking for a great matchup.
Hope the Chargers can pull one out.
I think they will.
They're playing great.
Chargers win.
They are playing very well, ranked 15th in the country, which is crazy.
And, I mean, I don't know the last.
time I've seen the charges ranked this high.
You know, we've been ranked pretty much every year I've been here.
We've had some great players.
Oh, Jack Golky.
You saw him at Oakland.
Yep, Oakland lighting it up.
Patrick Cartier.
He's overseas now.
He's doing well over there.
Yeah, he is.
Good little player.
But even when they were there, I mean, they were definitely creeping up higher.
But the last couple of years, I mean, they've been in the top 25, but more towards
the top.
Yeah.
Now we're, we're creeping into this 15, and I'm hoping we can crack the top tips.
We are going to head to the national anthem.

Hello and welcome back.
This is Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM Hillsdale basketball.
Time for the starting lineups.
Yep, excited for these.
Trying to figure out who we got down there for O'DU.
Tough to see from here.
We'll give it a look.
Have to assume Elijah Hinton, who we mentioned in the pregame is in there.
To assume Joanne Witherspoon.
Yeah.
Other than that, we will see.
It's like 10 Jr. from Detroit, Michigan.
Looks like we got Terrace Broaden from Detroit, AtGuard.
As we'd mentioned, they got number 15, Juana, Wetherspoon.
Average of 12.6 for O'DU.
Another Ohio guy, number 23, Derek Goodman.
Wow.
The Australian getting the start. That's fun. Number 25, Zach Kimball.
Averaging a solid 6.8 for the charges this season.
And then rounding out their starting lineup, their guy number 32, Elijah Hinton.
Leading score, that guy kind of does it all for them.
For your chargers, we have Joe Ruter.
We have Charles Woodhams. We have Ashton Janowski, Logan Beeston,
and rounding it off, big Rick at center.
those are some guys it's hard to mention the chargers basketball team the last couple years without
mention joe rudder yeah the guy has been electric there's not much else to weigh this three-year
starter three years starter coming off an all-conference selection um last freshman of the year as a freshman
yeah i mean he has yeah he's just been a great player for the chargers and i tell you what a leader
like that not being your leading score not being a guy that'll take a ton of shot
I think it speaks numbers for this Charter's team and how they spread the scoring, they spread the ball, not selfish.
A little bit downscoring year for him, but still making an impact.
Unselfish ball club, and I think that's stark.
It has to with your leaders, and I think he's one of them.
Yeah, him and Charles.
Charles obviously the leading score, but does a lot else for the Charters in the rebound assist game.
Yeah, I mean, Ruder led Hillsdale and scoring rebound assists, steals, and blocks last season.
Yeah, I mean, like we said, a guy that does it all, a bigger forward for them.
and Don Tibbitt's getting fired up to introduce these starters that we had just mentioned.
Another guy, too, as Reid mentioned in the pregame, Logan Beeston,
starting for the first time shooting the lights out for the charges.
A shooter to say the least.
And then a guy that's super fun to watch every time I'm here, Ashtonowski, point guard, super fast.
You know what?
Very quick.
Very interesting about his game.
Loves the MIDI.
Really does.
And that's rare nowadays.
It is rare nowadays.
People will tell you it's a bad shot.
I love it.
There's something beautiful about watching a mid-range shot.
Just a nice pull-up midi.
He's not afraid to do it.
No.
There goes Joe Ruter, the 6-5.
Junior from Chippewa Hills.
A lot of guys from Wisconsin on this charge of team.
That's a good basketball state.
A lot of Michigan, a lot of Ohio, and a lot of Wisconsin.
We love the Midwest here.
I mean, you have to.
Good basketball states.
This is almost the world-vers-a-based.
US game, if you will.
I mean, if you want to look at it that way, I wouldn't be bad at each other.
Doing the tip for O'DU Panthers, number 32, Elijah Hinton versus your big Rick.
Big three, five.
Big three, five.
A big man that'll get it done down low with the hook shot, but I tell you what, he kind of has a jumper on him.
He really underrated jumper.
Can't leave him wide open out there, and that's a game changer, just spacing the floor.
Spacing the floor, getting some drives, kicks, and getting some good.
Good looks at three has been a real key to the Chargers success early on this season.
Here we go.
First conference game.
Fibes are high.
Team is ranked high.
See if we can get one done here at home.
Very excited.
And we are underway.
Tip up and to the Chargers.
Janowski in the back court.
Surveys.
We're going to get the offense going.
Router top key.
Swings into Woodham's left side down low to Big Rick.
Post mismatch down here.
Backing him down.
Looks, hook shot.
Good.
And that's huge from Big Rick.
Just getting that big body down low,
getting right to his hook shot with that right hand.
O'DU coming back the other way.
Their point guard, Terrence brought him.
Looking for some that can't find anything, finds Hinton.
The big man to the Australian.
Three ball won't go.
Rebound Ruter.
Chargers with a stop early.
Ruter right wing
Fines Beeson dribble drive
Step back passes Wootem's
Pumps the three
Ruter right wing
Looking for something
Finds Janowski, top of the key
Wudem's pumps
Looking for the post touch
Finds Big Rick again
One on one with Hinton
Turns, kicks into the corner
With seven
Ruter step back three good
That's quite the shot from Ruder there
Kind of a sloppy looking possession for the Chargers
But Ruder finishes it off with a huge three
Broughtham coming back the other way
finds it on the wing
Derek Goodman
swings it over to Brom the point guard
slip roll
floater won't go
rebound chargers
Big Rick to Woodhams
If you're O'Doo you have to get that to fall
It's a really good look one of the best you're going to get
Big Rick pumps the three
Back Woodham's pumps as well
Left wing will pull
Won't go
rebound ODIU coming back the other way
in transition
finds Goodman
Goodman on the wing
to Weatherspoon
out of bounds, bad turn over there
Yeah, it just looks like some miscommunication
He thought he was
to sit around that three point line
He cuts unfortunate timing for the Panthers
Your score 5-0-chargers
Off to a hot start with 18, 15 to play
In this first half
Janowski to Big Rick
Left-wing Wudoms
Wudoms looking Janowski on the curl
doesn't find him
Beeson coming off a screen
Pick and pop big Rick down low
Turns fades dirt
No, won't go
Rebound Hinton
Coming back the other way
Brought him
Looking for something
Blacked away by Woodham's
Tipped oh gonna be O'DU basketball
Five nothing's still here
Really good effort loving the defensive effort
From the Chargers here so far
A lot of talk, a lot of communication
Loving that
And the screen
The high ball screen
Off ball screen should I say
that the chargers are getting to
is looking to open up some of their shooters.
Brought on top, the key, finds Hinton.
Up top, swings it over to Goodman.
Goodman looking to work on the wing.
Triple drive on Beeson.
Hinton will pull the three.
The big man won't go off the front of the rim, rebound.
Goodman, fader, mid-key, good.
Five to two, chargers up.
Offensive rebound, half to capitalize,
and O'DU does right there.
Chinoosky swings it over to Woodhams.
On the left wing, cutting and curling,
Chargers. Rooter, right wing, ISO, takes it to the cup, fouled, no shot, made it though. All on the floor.
Good take by Rooter there, though. Really love that. Aggressive, if they're going to give you that
inside lane to the cup, you have to take it. Love that. Fowl early on number 25, Zach Kimball.
Taking out for the charges are Big Rick and Logan Beeson checking in, Mikey McCollum, the sharpshooter,
and backup center, C.J. Yerian.
Base line out of bounds
Mikey McCollum
Fein Shinooski
High ball screen,
Yerian. Hedged by Hinton, got a mismatch down low.
They're going to call it again.
That's going to be the second there on Kimball.
They're going to have to pull them.
Yeah, getting two fouls that early.
You never want to see.
Checking in number 11, Brady Moore.
The red shirt sophomore from Floyd,
Knob, Indiana.
Chargers got a good mismatch.
there with getting C.J. Yerian down low with a guard on him in the paint.
Look to capitalize they couldn't. Inbound from the baseline to Janowski.
Corner three look. Won't take it Janowski to the cup. Tough take. Right hand. Good.
Your score 7 to 2. That right hand finish on the left side of the cup. Really nice touch there.
Brought him coming back the other way, finds Witherspoon on the wing.
Witherspoon trying to find the offense. Fader from the middle. Won't go. Rebound Rooter.
coming back the other way the chargers in transition tipped saved by woodhams mike mccallum off the what a move down low won't go rebound erie in won't go ball's getting knocked around rebound brought him fumbling with it coming back the other way seven to two chargers up five back door cut looking top of the key hinton to witherspoon brought him up top trying to start the offense call play here high ball scream hinton
Broaden looking for something.
Fader from the middle of the key won't go.
Tough rebound, Rooter.
In transition, Yerian's got a look.
Takes it, Euro.
They're going to call it Block.
Looked like it could have been a charge there.
Great job there by Derek Goodman standing in there,
but they're going to call the Block.
Three fouls early.
Three fouls very early.
Like the aggressiveness on the take there from Yerian, though.
Checking in Carson Seaman from Cincinnati, Ohio, the junior.
checking in for Witherspoon.
Your score 7 to 2 with 1610 to play Chargers with the baseline out of bounds here.
Looking to just get the ball in, get it up top to their point guard.
They find Janowski, corner three.
Ruter won't take it.
Janowski looking, cutting and curling are the Chargers?
McDonald tries to take it won't.
Woodham's top of the key, 12 on the shot clock.
Yerian swings it back to Woodham's.
Woodham looks to drive.
Tough take.
No foul.
Oh, rebound.
A bit of carnage down there.
Rebound Goodman.
In transition back to Goodman, trying to find the big man hitting down low.
He'll go to work on Yerian.
Baseline spin.
Looking for something.
Turns back to his right.
No, won't go, rebound Yerian, and here come the Chargers in transition.
Good move, got to finish when you get the young junior on you.
Good pass there by Janowski finds Yerian in transition.
Your score 9 to 2.
Really good look set up by the Charger point guard there.
Brought him getting them back set up, finds Goodman, swings it to Seaman.
Back up top, Hinton.
Fines Goodman, trying to run the offense through him early.
Swings it to the corner.
Brady Moore looking for something on Router.
Spins won't go.
Badness there.
Nine to two, back in transition.
O'DU doesn't get back.
McCollum three, no.
Rebound there by Seaman.
And there he looked to slow it up here.
9 to 2, Chargers up 7 with 15 to play.
Definitely looking to get more of a set up offense going here.
Looking a little out of sync to start.
Goodman, trying to find something finds more.
Download to their big man Hinton.
Turns on Yarian, fumbles the ball.
They're going to call a push on Yerian.
That's going to take us to our first media timeout.
You're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM.

I'm Lauren Smith back with another writing tip of the week.
There are some words that you almost never need to use, no matter what you're writing.
This includes words that are boring, overly complicated, or poorly defined.
There's a long list of words that could fall into these categories,
but a few that come to mind include very actually good, bad, biweekly.
If that sounds suspiciously specific, check out the episode I did on that Miserables.
word, literally unique and phenomenon. If you feel like you must use one of these words,
first consider whether there's a stronger word you could use. Replacing good with almost any
other adjective, for example, is almost guaranteed to make your writing more interesting.
Second, consider whether your reader is likely to need a dictionary to understand what you're
saying. There's a fine line between interesting and overly complicated and the best writers
walk this line like prose. That's your grammar minute.
We are back here at Don Tippett's Potter Arena.
You're listening to Radio Freehills on 101.7 FM.
Charger basketball.
Reid, what does O'DU need to do to get on the board?
I really think they should take more advantage of their transition opportunities.
You seem to be slowing up and setting up an offense on transition sometimes,
which I know you like.
And I also think they just need to finish.
Got a few good looks there, especially hinted inside on the,
on the junior yearion with Big Rick coming out for a breather.
I think they have to take advantage with their.
leading score. Brighton
off the inbound three won't go rebound
Yarion. Can't get a look out of the media
timeout. Yerian coming back the other way.
Some new chargers
in, some new Panthers in. Out of
the timeout, McCollum
looking. Back and down the point

Really tough shot there, really good.

McCollum on the wing.
Going Isso on Brunham.
Stripped away there.
Dives on the floor.
Stolen away there by number 11.
Brady Moore coming back the other way.
Fines brought in the corner.
We're going to set up that transition offense and he can't.
Loses it.
Saves it.
They're going to say he's out of bounds.
Checking in for the Chargers.
Number one, Caleb Glazer.
checking in for the Panthers number zero Antonio Carr.
Could possibly be that ODIU is looking to limit transition threes from the Chargers
by slowing down their own offense.
Just kind of limit the amount of looks that Hillsdale gets for their threes.
McWinney setting up the offense here.
Glazer up top for the Chargers.
McWinney on the right wing guarded by Carter.
Beeson finds Router down low.
Good.
Lay up on the right side.
Nice up and under there.
Your score 13 to 4. Chargers respond quickly.
Coming back the other way, the new point guard number zero, Antonio Carter.
On the corner here.
Swinging the ball around, finds more.
More to the top of the key to the Zanu.
We're going to find Goodman here.
Working the pick and roll.
Goodman will go ISO on.
Beeson blocked away.
Great defensive.
Set there from the Chargers.
Checking in for the Chargers number 24.
Garrett Bolte.
Number two, Ashton Janowski, the point guard back in, and Charles Woodhams.
O'Dar U.
Baseline out of bounds, finds Azunovovic going Iso on Glazer.
Gets to the cup right side.
Won't go, tough rebound, Woodhams.
Your score is still 13 to 4.
Chargers up with 12 to play.
Chargers looking to push it here in transition.
Top of the key, Woodham's.
Corner Janowski drives middle, kicks it back out,
Boltie swings it to Woodham's.
Woodham's looking to work, finds Beeson the sharpshooter.
Corner to Woodham's.
Beeson will take a deep.
Deep three, won't go. Rebound, Antonio Carter.
Coming back the other way here, looking for transition takes are the Panthers.
Carter, to the corner to Seaman.
Swinging it around Azanu, top of the key, the big man, back to Seaman.
Looking to take it on, boltie, has nothing. Carter pulls the three ball. Good.
Good shot there.
Tough shot, and that's going to be a timeout Odieu. O'DU, your score, 13 to 7.

Hello and welcome back to Don Tibbitts Potter Arena.
Your score 13 to 7, Chargers up.
Six.
Reed, what are you seeing that allowed Ode you to get a couple quick buckets there?
Took the ball up strong in transition, which I really like, and then hit a huge three,
going into that timeout.
They just have to take advantage of their open looks.
Chargers not giving them a ton of them, but when they're open, they have got
to take advantage.
Little press coming out of the break.
Soft press from O'DU.
Janowski in the corner swings it back to
Boltee, looking for something back to Janowski,
trying to break the press, and they do.
Get it press, half court.
Now they set up the offense.
Janowski scans with 18 on the shot clock.
Glazer to Bolte.
Back to Woodhams.
Top of the key, Glazer swings it around.
Janowski, looking for the mismatch,
can't find anything.
Looking for a post-touch, down low to Glazer.
Five in the shot.
clock Janowski goes ISO step back midi good what a shot there from Janowski your score 15 to
seven Antonio Carter coming back the other way swings it over to goodman finds witherspoon seaman on the
wing finds Carter on the wing pumps trying to go ISO hinton the big man back in going to work on glazer
finds nothing witherspoon on the wing 10 on the shot clock panthers over something go down low to hinton
He's going ISO here down low on Glazer
And they're going to get a push on Glazer
Physical defense
Physical defense but I liked it
Didn't think it constituted a foul
But who am I to argue with officials
First one there on Glazer
Still 15 to 7 here 1046 to play
Short just rotate a lot of big men
Not wrong with getting a foul there
No I'm not mad at it. You rotate them enough
And just keeping them fresh
Looking for the sidelines out of bounds
Fader
Tough one won't go
tipped back out, rebound to Carter.
On the corner, Witherspoon.
Looking for something back and down Janowski.
Find Seaman back to Witherspoon on Janowski.
Witherspoon to the right.
Over Boltie, won't go, rebound Glazer.
Coming back the other way, Janowski looking for a transition bucket here.
Janowski, top of the key.
Looking for the post-miss match here down.
The Glazer can't find him back to Janowski.
Janowski drives on the big man, kicks it back out to Boltie.
Bolte swings it. Corner Janowski, 12 on the shot clock.
Boltey, top of the key scanning.
Eight seconds on the shot clock, Janowski, looking for that mid-range.
Pull up, tough one, good.
He is feeling it from the mid-range this evening.
17 to 7. Chargers take a 10-point lead.

An effective ban on TikTok is rapidly approaching, but a lifeline could come from one of its former foes, President-elect Trump.
In Trump's first term, he signed an executive order calling TikTok a national emergency.
But in recent months, he is warm to it, telling Joe Rogan, his TikTok account helped him connect with young people and said over the summer he plans to save the app.
It's set to be deplatformed the day before he is sworn in.
That is, if Chinese parent company bike dance does not sell.
It's a result of a bipartisan law signed by President Biden in April.
Trump's pick for national security advisor, Congressman Michael Walt, says long spoken out against TikTok's Chinese government control.
I've called for a full-on ban. We can do it. By the way, the largest democracy in the world, the government of India, realizes the danger. It's done it. It is long overdue.
We should not allow our greatest adversary to access 150 million Americans in their data.

Hello and welcome back to Don Tibbitts Potter Arena.
Your score 23 to 9 with 8 to play.
Chargers on a good little run.
What is the key for them to keep it going?
I think keep being aggressive in transition.
I've really liked that.
Would love to see them take advantage of some mismatches.
They're getting down low due to their off-ball screen game.
The Chargers are getting looks, opportunities, should I say,
with their centers and big forwards on some of ODIUs guards.

What are the Chargers doing defensively that's been so tough for this high-powered offense?
Bo to you?
They're just playing sound defense.
It's been nothing spectacular.
A few good pokes.
But realistically, just getting hands up, staying up and down, not getting a lot of fouls down low with ODI's aggressive takes.

Here we go. Broughton. Looking for something. Drive. Quick, off the take. Won't go rebound, Big Rick. Just like that. That's been the story of the game for OdeU. That is a great look. You have to finish. Love the aggressive take. Have got to get that to go.
Router on the wing, setting up the charger offense. Ruder. Looking for something. Finds Big Rick at the three point line pumps. Won't take it. Woodhams. Beeston on the wing. 10 on the shot clock. Ruder looking for something. Dup down. Missed
match big Rick hook good that's a matchup if if he's going to get that big Rick is going to take

A good sell job from Hinton there.
Didn't quite think it was as egregious as maybe the officials did,
but a good job of selling it from O'DU.
They're going to sub out Big Rick there for backup big man there,
C.J. Yerian.
3119 trying to cut into this lead.
The Panthers set up their offense.

It's going to go to the Chargers.
Yeah, and that's a good call from the official.
He was a little nervous.
He was going to keep it with ODIU, but Ritter
not touch that just kind of a sloppy handle still 31 19 press looking tough to manage here for the
chargers tries to get into the area in can't save it and they force a turnover i was wondering when the
press would work for them it looked like they switched it up there typically the press we've seen
from odu is kind of been after the ball has been entered into play there pressing up a little
closer before the ball got entered and it looked to work a lot better for them there
Crimble, side line inbound still 3119, 1733 to play.
O'DiU needs a bucket here to cut the lead.
Crimble looking, finds Broughton, top the key, 20 on the shot clock.

Charger basketball here back at Don Tibbetts-Codder Arena.
Your score, 3121.
What has been the key to this run here by O'D?
Starts on the defensive end, gotten a few transition buckets.
And they've just been more aggressive shooting the ball overall, not getting the shot clock down so low, taking advantage of their opportunities.
It's been a good little run here from O'DU, the pressure.
I think it's been another key.
Not making it easy for the charges to get the ball in.
No, that one turnover started kind of this momentum swing for the Panthers here.
Chargers inbound it, 31, 21, 1630.
Router takes a tough take up and under.
What a finish.
And that guy is an athlete.
And that's what I want to see out of 3-3.
More aggressive takes.
Your score, speaking of it, 33-21.
Zanu back in for the Panthers.
Takes it on Yerian.
Tough, physical take.
No good.
Rebound McCollum.
That's a tough miss when you get to look that good.
Janowski, looking for something here.
McCollum finds Ruter.
Back screen, and they're going to call it a legal screen there on Yerian.
Tough, that'll happen.

Hello and welcome back to Charger Basketball here on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.1.1.7 FM.
Don Tibbitt's Potter Arena bumping here for Greek night.
Chargers up 3321.
How do they minimize a little run here from O'O you?
I think it's just get back to what you know.
Start playing a little bit more sound defense,
limit the good looks,
and then just be patient in your offense,
but I think we need to keep being aggressive,
especially through Rooter.
Chargers are going to take a little press here out of bounds.
Crimble.
Back to Broughton.
Panthers trying to bake the press they do.
Crimble.
Top of the key finds Broughton.
33.
21, 550 to play.
1550, sorry.
Azano, top of the key.
Spinning on the Ayerian has nothing.
Witherspoon, ISO on McCollum.
Tough defense.
Witherspoon bumping them around.
Tough finish off the glass good.
Back into the press, 33, 23, 10-point game here.
Chargers break the press with ease.
Here comes Janowski.

Reuter, tipped away, stolen by Witherspoon.
I'm a lazy.
One-on-one to the country.

Second chance here for the Panthers.
Those are the looks you'd love to see the Panthers start.
Finish.
Tough fade away. Jay from Witherspoon.
They convert on that one, 3325.
Really good fade there.
Eight point game. Chargers need to respond here.
And a little zone here from the Panthers.

Finds McCollum.
Two-three zone.

Eight on the shot clock, McCollum.
Looking for something, Router.
Three on the shot clock. Corner.
Woodhams, good.
Chargers needed that.
From Woodham.
36, 25, 11 point lead.
What a response from the senior Charles Woodham's.
Interesting strategy for the Panthers going to zone
when their man has limited to Chargers
looks at three so far.
Here comes Witherspoon, top of the key on Router.
He scored two straight.
Pull up Middy.
Go ahead.
Make it free.
What a shot there by Witherstoon, 36, 27, back and forth.
Buckets here.
Here comes Router.
Looking to cut into that zone, as we mentioned.
Router top key.
Fides Yerian down low.
Fading.
Won't go.
They're going to get him on the arm.
Yarian to the line for two.
What are you seeing out of this zone defense?
so the charters need to do.
The Panthers are doing a good job of closing out on shooters,
even though they're in the zone.
Would love if Yering could catch that ball a little more securely in the post
inside of the zone and then look to kick it out for a three.
First one up and no good.
Your score, 36, 27.
A lot of subs in for both teams here.
13.58, chargers trying to stop a little bit of an offensive run by the Panthers.
led by the graduating senior Jawan Witherspoon.
Tough buckets out of him.
Second one for Yerian, up and good.
Checking in is Big Rick for the shooter.
37, 27, 27. Chargers still up 10.
See what the Panthers can do.
Broughton, he'll bring it up here.
Broughton, the kid from Detroit,
taking on Woodham's right-hand layup.
Good.
37.
29.
Four straight buckets from the Panthers.
Can the charges respond?
McCollum, top of the key, finds McWinney.
McWinney looking for something his own, finds Big Rick.
Swings it, open three.
McCollum won't go.
Rebound Bruton.
Good close out from the Panthers there.
Coming back the other way, they find Witherspoon going.
Iso on Rooter.
Goodman, it'll take the three, and it'll go.
You guys, not afraid to shoot.
All of a sudden, we got a five-point ball game here, partner.
37, 32.
What a run from the Panthers here.
Can the Chargers find a response?
Woodham's on the wing.
Corner to Big Rick.
Fines McCollum, not afraid to take another,
won't go off the back of the rim, rebound, brought in.
Here come the Panthers.
Trying to make it six straight buckets.
Broaden, high off the glass,
won't go rebound McCollum.
Mikey McCollum.
Love the aggressiveness from O'DU there.
You've gotten a few transition buckets.
Why not try for another?
Big stop by the Chargers,

Going the other way
Did they get the screen there, I think?
Yeah, it looked like it.
Tried to slip the screen, moved a little too early.
They're going to call it there on Hinton.
Yep.
Still yet without a bucket, their leading score, charges have minimized him.
Minimized him, but ODU, some of those shots that weren't falling in the first half,
some of those layups, they are starting to get to fall here.
And that's been the key to this little run they've been on.
Your score, 39, 32, chargers up 12 to play.
Router, trying to cut into the zone.
O'DU sticks with it.
Rooter corner, tray ball.
Won't go.

There's been a lot of controversy about illegal migrants supplying for asylum through a smartphone app.
But one company is now trying to leverage tech, including artificial intelligence, to assist legal immigrants who often need to deal with convoluted and costly procedures to make sure visas and green cards are timely renewed.
We don't focus on the legal immigrants that are in this country.
And we wanted to offer them the most stress-free, affordable option in order for more people to pursue it.
Yasmin Seruri is an immigrant herself who once had to struggle with the U.S. State Department,
but her company, called Consulta Immigration, invites its clients to use a digital assistant on its website and its apps to help them renew paperwork or apply for U.S. citizenship,

What is second year coach Kevin Bradley telling the charge?
Chargers has a little bit of run there from the Panthers.
I would imagine we have to limit transition shots for ODEU.
They've been doing a great job getting some more of those transition looks to fall in this
half leading to them cutting in the lead, bringing it to five at one point, but the charges
responded, getting it back to seven.
I believe that the Chargers having a little bit of tough time, the mix up between zone,
press, man.
O'DU is trying everything on defense, taking the charges a little bit to get an offense.
Yeah, they've struggled.
shooting the ball, some of their players.
I would love to see Janowski,
now that they've gone back to that man look,
getting back to kind of his mid-range game.
OdeU takes it out of bounds.
Witherspoon out of the break, takes it to the cup, good, tough bucket.
39, 34, out of the timeout.
Here come the Chargers with 10.50 to play.
McCollum.
On the wing, finds Boltey.
Boltie to Janowski, back to Mann for the Panthers.

Gets to the mid-range.
Kicks it out late, bolty corner, three ball.
Good shot from two, four there.
The end of the shot clock needed that.
Chargers needed that one.
Your score, 42, 34.
9.50 to play.
Antonio Carter dribbles up here for the Panthers.
Carter, we're going to find Witherspoon.
he's been hot here in the second half.
Witherspoon on McCollum driving.
Backing him down.
Oh, they get him with the block.
What did you see there on that one?
McCollum trying to stand in on him.
I like the idea, just kind of mistimed when he fell back on that.
Got to really time that well right when he puts the shoulder down.
I think he took the shoulder, was expecting the other one, and fell a little late.
It's going to be the second on McCollum, the sophomore.
Here's score.
42, 34, 940 play.
Baseline out of bounds.
for the Panthers. Witherspoon.
Looking Iso on McCollum again.
Tough defense. Hit it around and they're going to get him with his third.
McCollum on the much bigger 6-5-200-Jouan Witherspoon.
McCollum, 6-4-200.
Pretty similar size, but a little bit more beef there on Witherspoon, don't you say?
Yeah, he's definitely starting him off with a few dribble moves,
getting him to back pedal a little bit and then putting that box.
body into him.
Sideline out of bounds.
42, 34.
They get it to Witherspoon.
Find Shailen Green who's looking to work on Logan Beeson.
Hook shot off the glass and good.

Antonio Carter looking to pull. Good defense by Beeson. They get him on the hands.
I guess
That's a tough call

A little bit of hand check in and
I would like to see them let that play

He is not, and that's going to be huge.
That's going to keep possession for the Chargers.
Baseline out of bounds.
45, 36, 8 to play.
Game is getting close, getting tight.
In that last possession, I liked Ruder being more aggressive,
trying to get to his spot in the mid-range and the paint.
Woodham's top of the key, 12 on the shot clock for the Chargers.
Ruder behind the back, hit on it, knocked out of bounds.

What do they got to do to win this game?
You saw their coach kind of talking to him.
I believe it was a white, white call from their bench when they were on defense last.
Looked like they moved up a little bit, a little more aggressive in that man they'll look to be.
As the charges try to drain some of this clock, you can expect them to try and jump a few passes,
get into the passing lane.

Your score, 5648 chargers, sideline out of bounds, 29.9 seconds left.
Need a quick steal here from the Panthers if they want life.
Woodham scanning finds McCallon, their best free throw shooter.
Having trouble getting it in.
Tipped around, what a steal by O'DU.
Coming back the other way, need a transition bucket.
Jalen Green, tipped around to the cup.
Good.
Your score, 56 to 56 point game.
Chargers are looking to get the inbound.
They're going to get a foul on the off ball there.
I brought him.
18.4 seconds, 6-point game still possible for the Panthers.
Still have life due to that bucket there.
Big time steel at the other end.
It's going to be a one-in-one for Ashton Janowski.
He loves the mid-range.
He also loves the free throws.
Went two for three earlier this game on the foul and the three-point.
Let's see if he can connect on two here.
First one of the one-in-one is up and good.
Got it.
Makes the front end.
5750 18.4 to go. Chargers looking to come out of here. Tough fight from this O'DU squad.
Second one is up and won't go. Rebound Witherspoon looking to push. 15 seconds left.
Brunham has to take a three. They're going to get a foul on Woodham's who is trailing him.
Yeah, and that's something you don't want if you're a charger looking at untimed shots here, three of them.
If he can go three for three here, bring it to a two possession game.
Be huge here for the Panthers.
57, 50, 12 seconds to go.
Got to have all of them if they want a chance.
First one is up in butter.
Got it.
This guy, I tell you what, Terrence Brunham, has been a great spark for them in the second half.
Him and Witherspoon trying to carry this team to victory.
The second of three here.
Fowl was on Woodham's up and good.
Again, nothing but net.
Bronham.
Seeing the rim big right now, 57, 53.
Check that.
52 12 to go. Third one, up no good. Tough reboundierian. Finds McCallum their best shooter.
They got a file here with eight seconds left. Chargers knock in these and that's going to do it here, Don Tibbitts.
These are clutch, free throws. You make both these, take it to a three-possession game.
Mikey McCallum, the sophomore, as we mentioned, sharpshooter, almost a 91% free-throw shooter.
It's been nothing but net early in this game.
See if he can knock these up.
The one in one.
The front end up and no good.
Tipped around and he gets his own rebound, goes up with it good.
Follows his shot.
Hustle play.
59, 52, five seconds to go.
O'DU's just got a throw off a shot here.
Bating three.
Goodman, no good.
That's going to do it here.
Big win to start GMAC conference play.

Chargers just too much.
59, 52.
