And a good afternoon to you from the George C. Roche Sports and Athletics Complex here at Hillsdale College, high atop, Don Tibbitts Potter Arena, Louis Thune, alongside Payton Hughes, as the Hillsdale College Chargers men's basketball team opens their home season against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals.
These two teams have met before just two days ago in a loss for Hillsdale, Payton, a tough game.
But as we're two minutes in already, Hillsdale's looking at.
to rebound off of that two point
loss to Saginaw Valley State.
Hillsdale off to a quick start here.
Five to two. Going to give you a clip lineup
for each team. Same starting five
as the last game on Friday. Hillsdale
number 11, Cole McQuinney. Number two,
Ashton Janowski. 24, Garrett
Boltey. 31, C.J.
Arian. Number 22, Tommy Morgan.
Now for Saginaw Valley. You have
Xavier Thomas number four, Marquise Joseph's number
one. Dantes Scott, number 32.
Rice and Huckby, number 10, and Kavana
Taylor number five.
Battling out in the post will be Taylor for Saginaw Valley State and Yerian for Hillsdale.
Otherwise, both teams packing four dangerous guards that they hope to use.
Saginaw Valley State, a traditionally speedy team, finally was able to beat Hillsdale
just two days ago, 79, 77, and a close game up there in Saginaw Valley.
Now Hillsdale gets to host them back at home for what they hope is some sweet revenge with
Four minutes gone here in the first half.
It's a 5-4 game for Hillsdale.
Very lackluster offense to begin the game.
But Saginaw Valley State has just begun to make their shots.
It's Marquise Joseph's, the junior guard transfer from Western Michigan for Saginaw Valley State.
And Peyton, this Saginaw Valley State team is a complete rebrand from the team a year before.
They've lost just about all of their production, but brought in four D1 transfers thanks to their new head.
coach Chris Fowler, the former Michigan State assistant, as Saginaw gets the ball yet again,
and Xavier Thomas drives in, fouled, and he will go to the line to shoot two free throws.
Saginaw has the game seven to five right now?
Right, yeah, we saw that just on Friday night.
You saw Xavier Thomas and Marquise Joseph combined for 53 points, 32 for Thomas, 21 for Josephs.
They both transferred from Western Michigan.
They dominated the game on Friday.
I think they're going to look to the same thing tonight.
Three transfers from Western Michigan and one from Toledo in Xavier Thomas and then this Saginaw Valley State adding plenty of freshmen aside last year's only returning starter in Bryson Huckabee, who himself transferred into Saginaw from Anderson University.
So a complete reface on this team checking in now another Western Michigan transfer for Saginaw Valley State in Jack Stefanski.
the grad transfer forward number zero so one free throw made there for Xavier Thomas as
Hillsdale will take over down eight to five here with 16 minutes left to play in the first half
it's Ashton Janikowski with the ball passes to McWenny at the top of the key and he swings the ball
quickly to what looks like Jacob Meyer check that that's Caleb Glazer the lanky
garden for Hillsdale he drives down the right side pivot
looks to offload the ball but sees an open shot and banks it in.
Hillsdale closes the deficit to 1-8-7 as Thomas has the ball for Saginaw Valley State
against a double team.
He drives, puts up with the left hand, it's no good, rebounded by Glazer,
and moved quickly up the field to Connor Stonebreaker,
handed off to Janikowski, who has an open shot at the free throw line,
passes it up to the corner for Brayland Morris,
an open three for Hillsdale.
It's no good.
The freshman cannot cash in from deep.
Saginaw Valley State with the rebound.
And with the ball now is Marquise Joseph's.
Much slower team from years past.
Coach Fowler has brought some greater order to this team.
They're looking to use the post a lot less, relying on those guards.
Some great shooting we saw in Friday's action.
Although not much could be said from beyond the perimeter, Mark Payton.
Definitely not at all.
We only saw five completed three-pointers last game.
Two of 11 for Hillsdale, three of 12 for Saginaw.
Valley. They need to pick that up. I mean, right now it's already eight, seven. I think Sagan
Vos already made two threes to start this game. They're looking to establish that three
game and like you said, work it down low. We're seeing a lot of one-on-one movements here.
They're trying to set up screens, get that one-on-one down in the post. We'll hop into a quick
media timeout here before we get you caught up on everything that happened here in the first five
minutes. You're listening to Hillsdale Chargers men's basketball on radio-free Hillsdale

And welcome back to Don Tibbitts Potter Arena here in the first half of Hillsdale's home opener against Saginaaw Valley State.
The Hillsdale men's basketball team opened the season 0 and 1 after a 20 and 10 campaign last year.
Meanwhile, Saginaw finished off a 10 and 18 season.
But added coach Chris Fowler, as we alluded to earlier.
Now they lead Hillsdale 9 to 7 with the.
Guard grad student Jack Stefansky, a transfer from Western Michigan leading this Saginaw Valley State team.
He goes one of two from the line and it's rebounded there by Connor Stonebreaker as Paxton Geertz will bring the ball up for Hillsdale.
Pass it to Stonebreaker on the right side and Glazer at the top of the key.
Tommy Morgan will control the ball for Hillsdale.
Offloads to Stonebreaker in the left corner, 10 to shoot.
Stonebreaker against a mismatch there.
Stafansky, the small forward, not able to guard.
He gets a shot up.
It's no good, rebounded by Caleb Glazer,
who goes for the immediate putback and is fouled in the act.
9-7, Saginaw Valley State.
Glazer will go to the line with the chance to tie the game.
Yeah, Hillsdale really looking to establish Stonebreaker and Glazer
as a strong duo running a high-low kind of post game here.
That was great.
Stonebreaker works that one-on-one on the post.
Glazer is able to come in, get the rebound put back.
That's a great down low work.
This is a great start.
We talked earlier about how different this Saginaw Valley State is from the team we saw last year.
But Hillsdale College has gone through a bit of a change of their own, graduating three of their top four producers.
And crucially, Joe Ruder, the senior leader last year, one of the best players in Division II basketball.
So now Hillsdale's returning Janowski and McWenny is stepping into a bigger role, not to mention C.J. Yerry and having to do the same.
But almost a completely different team for what we saw last year.
Glazer goes one for two from the line
as Saginaw Valley State will look to bring the ball up quickly.
It's passed to the right corner.
Tristan Nichols deciding what to do with the screen.
He'll fire the three, and it's good.
The three-point are good for Tristan Nichols.
And Braylon Morris will bring the ball up for Hillsdale.
Stolen once again, Tristan Nichols.
And he's on the fast break.
He's beat all of Hillsdale's defense.
The layup is good.
Braylin Morris will bring the ball back up again for Hillsdale.
Costly turnover there from the freshman.
14-8 game for Saginaw Valley State.
And Morris will look to drive straight off the dribble,
and he is fouled.
So once again, Hillsdale, going to the line.
Braylin Morris, the freshman out of Ohio,
checking in for some critical minutes here in the first half.
Right, no turnovers for him last.
game already starting the game first few minutes that he's in the game there's a turnover just sloppy
play we got to fix that up makes the first and here's the second for braylin morris it's no good
rebounded by saginaw valley state and brought up the court by dants scott on the left side guarded by
morris he passes to the corner ball reversed back to the top of the key and there with the ball is
defansky right side of the court passes to the corner and cuts
Pass back to Stefansky, it's good, unguarded, a great give and go there from Saginaw Valley State, extending the lead to seven, a 16-9 ball game here, 13 to play in the first half.
Caleb Blazer with the ball for Hillsdale.
He drives left hand, the lanky guard, but he is blocked.
That looked like Aidan Duran for Saginaw Valley State as they'll control.
The ball is given quickly to Stefanski.
He'll drive.
Shot is no good, but rebounded there by Trenton Tarututah.
And sent back out Saginaw Valley State.
reset the offense with 15 to shoot driving is dants scott the ball's up blocked by
caleb glazer but the foul is called on the ground whether that is on caleb glazer or
brother than morris we will wait to see called on glazer costly foul there for caleb glazer
an extremely extremely tall guard for hillsdale really a flex player listed as a forward blazes a guard
but absolutely vital for this hillsdale offense with the speed he brings and the size
and we've seen scoring ability of plenty last year.
Needs to stay out of foul trouble here in the first half.
Yeah, that was Scott driving for Saginaw Valley there.
You saw Sagina Valley tried to pull up the strain off the right side.
Scott ends up taking it the other direction.
Braylon Morris gets caught off of his feet.
Glazer has to come over and help.
End up drawing the foul.
Scott will make the first as Glazer checks out.
And rims the second in.
Back in for Hillsdale is Connor Stonebreaker.
and bringing the ball up.
We'll be Paxton Geertz.
Open off the screen was Garrett Bolt,
but he could not corral the pass,
bounced around,
and a hold is called in second Alabama State.
Not a jump ball,
what looked like a jump ball,
ruled they grabbed bolts on the wrist,
so Hillsdale will inbound from under their basket.
Down nine already, 1230 to play here in the first half.
Stonebreaker will check.
out for Hillsdale and back in is C.J. Yerian.
Joined by Garrett Bolt, Braylin Morris, Ashton Janowski, and Paxton Geertz.
Inbounded Janowski in the left corner, he passes out to the top to C.J. Yarian.
And an off ball foul is called.
Check that.
The referees will go over something that look like the clock operator, stopped the clock
a bit too late and did not run the shot clock.
So 30 seconds will be dropped from the game clock and one from the shot clock.
Hillsdale running Boltey and C.J. Yarian in right now as they're forwards.
Normally we've seen a high-low split here.
Let's see what Bolty if he starts to play around the perimeter or if C.J.
Yerian joins him out there.
I don't know.
Yerian has the ball at the top of the key for Hillsdale.
He dishes to Janowski, who dribbles into the right elbow and takes a two-point shot.
Guarded closely, but it's good.
Two points for Hillsdale with 12 minutes to play in the first 18, 11 set.
Contez Scott will have the ball for Saginaw Valley State.
Off ball screen set, and it opens up number six, eight and Duran for a three
as Tristan Nichols was cutting to the basket,
and Hillsdale decided to cover him and not Duran.
Comes back to bite him.
The three is good.
21-11 Saginaw Valley State Janowski with the ball for Hillsdale.
at the top of the key looking to find the open man brailyn morris on the right it dribbles in puts up a
floater from 10 feet away it's no good rebound to duran who passes to dants scott he dribbles up the right
side of the court and back to the top of the key for duran the handoff is to tristan nichols
one of the returning players for this sagano valley state team he hands off to duran in the paint
guarded closely by genowski but cashes it in nonetheless 2311 for sagano valley state
and Hillsdale wisely calls a timeout. Coach Kevin Bradley will have plenty to iron out if he wants to make this Chargers team competitive here in the first half.
We are going to have to take a break. Beside the players, you're listening to Hillsdale Men's Basketball on Radio Free Hillsdale, 1.1.7.m.

And welcome back to Don Tibbitts Potter Arena, the Hillsdale Chargers men's basketball team,
trailing big.
early in the game in their second showdown with Saginaw Valley State yet this season.
In front of the home crowd, 2311 Hillsdale's defense just cannot get any stops right now.
That was the story of Friday night, Payton. Saginaw Valley State with 48 points in the paint and 19 off the fast break.
Compared to Hillsdale's 32 and 7, the Saginaw Valley State offense is just too deep for this Hillsdale defense, it seems,
as Hillsdale will now attempt to not up the score.
And an off-ball foul is called on the screen.
Unclear who it was called on, but a moving screen on Hillsdale.
The key difference on Friday night was Hillsdale being able to score there too.
In the first half, Hillsdale put up 38 points.
Right now with 11, almost going into the halfway mark of the first half,
Hillsdale needs to figure something out.
Don Tez Scott will control the ball for Saginaw Valley State.
Plenty of off-ball screens as they look to open up there.
players around the perimeter. He hands off to Kavanaugh-Taylor, the 6-10 red shirt
junior for a Saginaw Valley State who cuts open to the basket after giving it to a guard. The
pass is there. The shot is good. 25-11 Saginawale State. Looks like a little bit of a miscommunication
between McWenny and Janowski on the help there. No one guarded it. And at 6'10, really the only man
you can trust to effectively guard Kavana Zaylor is going to be C.J. Yerian. But, you
Yerian was tied up around the perimeter.
Hillsdale needs a bucket here.
And they won't get it.
It's number 12, Jacob Meyer, takes the shot from the left elbow, rims out.
It's no good as Marquise Josephs will control the ball here for Saginaw Valley State
as they'll look to open up Dantes Scott.
They'll go right back to Taylor at the free throw line.
The floater is no good as Yerian cuts up the court trying to get the Hillsdale fast break going.
but they let up instead and give the ball to Cole McWinney on the perimeter.
The ball's poked away, taken by Xavier Thomas, who passes up.
Kavanaugh-Taylor with the slam dunk off the fast break.
And coach Kevin Bradley takes another timeout for Hillsdale, 27-11, in favor of the Cardinals.
The Chargers paid a mighty struggle fest early on halfway through the first half.
Well, early on in the first half, it looked like Hillsdale's offense was going to be rolling with Stonebreaker and Glazer working that high-low post.
But with both of them out right now, and Yerian and Bolte playing, we've seen almost a five-out split along the perimeter trying to pass outside.
Not great passes while Saginaw Valley's been playing very close and tight defense.
Hills and Leeds makes more cuts towards the basket, get something rolling, get some speed in this offense to try and catch Saginaw Valley off guard.
Saginaw Valley is really just playing tight and playing close, and Hillsdale can't do anything with it.
Coach Bradley's 30 seconds are up, and you can only hope that he's tried to inject some life into this Hillsdale lineup.
Glazer is back on the court.
Winnie is on the court, or Mick Winnie, Cole McWinney.
It's Jacob Meyer.
And it's Asgen, Janowski, and Connor Stonebreaker.
Looks like he's favoring the shooting lineup here.
Hillsdale will need some threes to fall if they're going to close this deficit.
It'll be glazer at the top of the key.
An off ball screen tries to open up Janowski, but no good.
Jacob Meyer drives and under the basket to Saginaw Valley State defenders bite,
and he rolls it back around the rim.
Two points good for Hillsdale, 2713.
Balls to Joshua Thomas, and he passes to the top of the key to Bryson.
be passed to the corner for marquise jacobs sagano valley state perfectly content to take their time now
five to shoot it's Xavier thomas in the corner he puts up a shot guarded closely by
connor stonebreaker it's no good they trap stonebreaker on the rebound in the corner but the reach
is called there on Xavier thomas so hillsdale will take the ball a great defensive possession
for the chargers exactly what they need to be doing to narrow this deficit and nick winnie
will take the ball up for hillsdale yeah that last possession you saw stonebreaker move over to the
other post as hillsdale drove he he pulled his defender off that gave a gave an open layoff
stonebreaker at the top of the key passes to glazer the flex guard jenowski takes the handoff
dribbles into the left elbow nothing going there passes back out to connor stonebreaker who pulls up
and it's good for three 2716 hillsdale
brings the deficit back to 11
with the three from Connor Stonebreaker
Saginaw Valley State will look once again
to ignite their offense
and they do
the passes from Xavier Thomas to Joshua
Thomas in the corner
Joshua Thomas the Western Michigan
transfer Xavier Thomas
the Toledo transfer
and Joshua's three is good for
Saginaw Valley State giving them
30 on the half Hillsdale
brings the ball up Janowski has the ball
stripped away by Bryson Huckby
who moves it forward on the fast break to Joshua Thomas
and a tough contested layup there
against Jacob Meyer
rolls in 16 for Hillsdale
32 for the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals
and Janowski will look to get Hillsdale scoring again
steps back from the free throw line of a short drive
and it's good for two not a high percentage shot
but it falls for Janowski
that's all he really could do there everyone was guarded up
Not a lot of movement down in the post, but Janowski drives up to that free throw line,
sinks the shot.
Saginaw Valley State will not take their time on this possession.
It's Bryson Huckby from a step or two behind the three-point line, pulling up and no good,
rebounded for Hillsdale.
Janowski once again takes the ball, dribbles right back to the free throw line,
attempts another pull-up jumper.
It's no good off the rim, long rebound, bouncing far out, and out of bounds.
looks like it will be called off off of Janowski.
They ruled none of the Saginaw Valley State rebounders touched it,
and we will enter yet another media timeout here with seven minutes to play in the first quarter.

alongside Payton used seven minutes to play in the first half of Hillsdale men's basketball's home opener of the season against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals, and it has been ugly, Peyton.
Saginaw Valley, what happened on Friday, they relied on Xavier Thomas and Marquis Joseph to get their points.
Right now, they have 18 points off of their bench, as opposed to Hillsdale's nine.
Hillsdale is turning the ball over way too many times, five turnovers in the first 13 minutes compared to Saginaff, at least one.
hillsdale needs to clean up the sloppy play
maybe they can get some of the rolling a trail by
14 with seven minutes to play
in the first half and would ideally like
to close that deficit but
Saginaw Valley State will have the ball
it's Xavier Thomas backing down
it looks like he was backing down
Connor Stonebreaker and Stonebreaker
decided to take the charge
Thomas does not like the call
but he will check out
I believe that's his second possibly his
third foul there Payton
and if Hillsdale can remove Xavier Thomas from the game
like you said as much as Saginaw Valley State relied on him on Friday
the Toledo transfer
could potentially change the flavor of this game for Hillsdale
as Cole McWinney will bring the ball up
passes right side to Connor Stonebreaker
who's looking for Caleb Glazer in the post guarded tightly
by Don Tes Scott
will decide against it passes instead to Jacob Meyer
at the top of the key. Meyer drives with the right hand from the left side of the basket
closely contested, but it's good. That'll give Hillsdale 20 on the half. Down 12 to Saginaw Valley
State as Tristan Nichols will bring the ball up. Hands off to Stefanski, the western Michigan
transfer who passes to Dantes Scott in the corner. He drives and another charge it looks like
is called against or a travel. The defense was from Colmick Winnie. He shut down the drive for Scott
to instead divert his drive toward the free throw line and what looked like a bump could have
been called either way but Scott lost his balance and was called for the travel so hillsdale
will take the ball here chance to close the lead to 10 or even single digits here it'll be
connor stonebreaker in the post stonebreaker up and in working on joshua thomas went right
got him to bite on the fake spun back out left the two goes up and he's fouled by bryson and
So the and one free throw will go to Connor Stonebreaker, chance to move this game to nine points here in the first half.
I think you can feel it too here, Lewis.
The energy has completely shifted.
I think it came right off of that charge.
Once Xavier Thomas has that charge on Stonebreaker, leaves the game with two fouls.
You were right.
The energy's shifted.
We immediately drive down Hillsdale, works the offense, scores.
Venga has the travel on their next defensive possession.
And now Stonebreaker is able to work the paint and really make something happen.
The free throw is no good, but it's rebounded by Hillsdale.
Jacob Meyer, who passes back out to Janowski.
Off an off-ball screen, Janowski passes to McWinney, and McWinney with the off-balance
three wide open.
It's still good, and the deficit is now seven for Hillsdale, 32-25 game.
Five minutes to play in the first half, it's Dantes Scott.
Lost control of his dribble for a second, got it back.
It's poked out by Stonebreaker and kicked out of bounds off of Dantes Scott's foot.
Another turnover for Saginaw Valley State.
Hillsdale takes possession, a seven-point game, and all of a sudden, Payton, as soon as Xavier Thomas checks out, the flavor of this game changes.
It just changed on a dime.
It just changed all of the momentum in the span of two minutes.
Right, that's seven fouls now for Saginaw Valley and three turnovers, two turnovers in the last couple minutes.
Colnick Winnie dribbles all around the paint, draws the defenders in, and back out to the left corner.
for Conner Stonebreaker, who puts it in a four-point deficit for Hillsdale.
Connor Stonebreaker, everything he needs to be and more in this first half.
And, well, that'll kill the momentum real quick.
Jack Stefansky gets the ball for Saginaw Valley State and immediately runs up the court,
throws up a shot with a hand on him and gets the foul called.
So he will go to the line.
Chance to slow this game down for Saginaw Valley State.
They got out over their skates a little bit.
The first free throw rooms out.
It might kill the momentum, but you have to keep in mind just four minutes ago.
This was a 16-point game.
Now it's a four-point game.
Hillsdale is back in this.
The momentum might be even now, but Hillsdale knows what they have to do,
and they know they have the ability to do it.
Defansky misses the second free throw, so Hillsdale remains on a 12-0 run.
McWenney with the rebound.
He'll bring it up.
The screen is set by Stonebreaker.
McWenny passes to Glazer, who looks for Stonebreaker.
inside. He has the open
shot, but the ball's poked away by
Stefansky. He recollects the ball
tries to go up again and the foul is called
and looks like the foul will be called
on the ground as Stonebreaker was trying
to work that ball up over his shoulders
and get it toward the rim. Never
mind, it was called in the air. So Stonebreaker
will go to the line again and this is big
Stonebreaker not as built
as Joe Ruter was last year
but an excellent scorer
guarded closely by Xavier
Thomas to this point in the game. But
When Thomas checked out, Stonebreaker really seized his moment as he makes the first free throw.
And we now have a one possession game.
It was 32 to 16.
Stonebreaker with the second free throw.
Misses.
Rebound goes to Hillsdale.
Janowski with the ball, passes to Meyer, passes to McWinney on the left side,
Glazer in the left corner.
Does not hand off to Janowski, open lane to the basket, drives to the right side, up.
And no good.
But a foul is called on Saginaw Valley State.
And Glazer will go to the line.
It was 32 to 16.
It is 32 to 29 now as Glazer with two free throws
can put this game within one point.
The first is up and it rims out.
No good for Caleb Glazer.
That was Marquis Joseph just a minute ago
with Connor Braker on that foul.
He now has two fouls as well alongside Thomas and Stafansky.
The top three scores right now for this Saginaw Valley team.
Glazer misses the second.
We saw that story on Friday, 25-435 from the free throw line for Hillsdale.
Killer in a two-point game to miss 10 free throws.
Saginaw Valley State will bring the ball up, hoping to extend their lead past one possession now that Hillsdale is narrowed it.
But it's a 13-0 run for Hillsdale as Tristan Nick.
will look to ignite the Saginaw Valley State offense, and he fails in that regard.
Pass to Aidan Duran, who attempts to work it inside to Joshua Thomas, who is not expecting the
ball. It's poked away for Hillsdale. Stonebreaker with the ball.
Top of the key, hands off to Janowski on an off ball screen.
Janowski sees an open drive, takes it another jumper, but it's tipped by Dantes Scott
and corralled by Saginaw Valley State. That'll go down as a blocked shot.
Dantes Scott up with the ball, pulls up for three, it's good.
There is the long awaited score for Saginaw Valley State, breaking that drought,
putting the lead back to six.
These last two possessions, Hillsdale's been in a two, three.
It seems like they're more scared of this slashing offense out of Saginaw Valley.
They're begging them to take that three.
They do not believe it.
Cole McWinney bounces the ball off of his foot off a strange-looking pass,
but it's corralled by Jacob Meyer sent back.
to McWinney who dribbles into the free throw line and puts up a floater uncontested
Saginaw Valley State miscommunication no one jumped to guard the man with the ball
31 Hillsdale 35 Saginaw Valley State Dantes Scott once again open around the perimeter
for Saginaw Valley State but this three-pointer is no good rebounded by Caleb Glazer
past Tacoma when he brings the ball up for Hillsdale left side of the court the screen set by
Glazer he's now at the top of the key passes to Stonebreaker on the right wing
Glazer trying to work in the paint.
Nothing going there.
He moves out to the perimeter.
He receives the pass passage of Stonebreaker in the right corner.
Stonebreaker for three.
It's good.
35, 34 deficit.
It is a one-point game.
Hillsdale was down 16.
They are now down one in the span of six minutes.
Coach Kevin Bradley, a great defensive adjustment, an even better offensive adjustment
to give Connor Stonebreaker the ball.
Saginaw Valley State will call the team.

I'm Lily Fay Kramer, and this has been Soundtracks for the Skyline on Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FX.
Welcome back atop John Timmitts Potter Arena, Lewis Thune, alongside Peyton Hughes.
And the last time I said that, Payton, the last time out we took, I said,
It was an ugly game.
Hillsdale was down 16, and all of a sudden,
Hillsdale manages an 18-3 run.
It is 35 for Saginaw Valley State,
34 for Hillsdale with two minutes left to play in the first half.
The Saginaw Valley State offense cannot get an open shot yet.
Check that.
Tristan Nichols, drives in with the right hand,
Bobbles the ball on his way up and still puts it off the backboard.
An impressive shot for Tristan Nichols.
It goes in.
Tough contest from the Hillsdale defense.
3734, three-point deficit.
Cole McWinney with the ball for Hillsdale.
He will dribble in to the pain.
Puts up a two, trying to draw the foul, but it rims in anyway.
Just a simple pick and roll with Glazer there.
McWinney doesn't use it, takes it to the paint.
Nick Winnie has been good from short as Ashton Janowski for Hill.
And then, of course, Connor Stonebreaker, providing the spark from three-point range as Saginaw Valley State will pass the ball around the perimeter looking for an open shot.
It's missed by Bryson Huckabee. Long rebound. No good. Rebound long Trenton Territuda. He goes up for three as well. Also no good. Another long rebound, but a push is called against Saginaw Valley State trying to get that rebound. He was shot from the right corner and ended up on the left.
wing bouncing out of bounds that is now 10 fouls for sagano valley state hillsdale going into double
bonus here two free throws for stonebreaker three of three from three point for him tonight he was
o of two friday night he has lit the fire for this hillsdale offense he and glazer have a really
strong connection right now the two combining for 15 points eight rebounds they have lit this fire
and this offense is now rolling this is a one point game 37 36
Saginaw Valley. Stonebreaker misses both free throws, but Jacob Meyer with another rebound off a
missed free throw. That should be three for him on the day. Passes the ball out to Ashton Janowski,
who drives toward the basket, loses his balance, loses the ball. Dantes Scott will bring it up
for Saginaw Valley State. Passes to the corner for Trenton Territuda, and it's good for 3.40-36
Saginaw Valley State under a minute to play here in the first half. Saginaw Valley State in the
double bonus so Hillsdale can draw a foul they'll most certainly be walking away with points on
this possession it's Cole McWinney who dribbles in for Hillsdale and puts the ball off his foot
tied up with Trenton Territuda Saginao Valley State will take the ball that'll be a turnover for
Hillsdale 35 to play 30 on the shot clock so Saginaw Valley State will look to kill time here
it's Tristan Nichols with the ball for state passes to Dantes Scott at the top of the key
Territuta on the left wing back
to Scott on the right. In the corner
is Huckabee.
Some beautiful ball movement
opens Territuta up in the left corner.
It's no good. Rebound to Saginaw Valley
State. Put back up by Aidan Duran.
No good. Rebound again to Aiden Duran
and he's fouled going back
up.
Looks like the foul is called on Caleb Glazer
once again for Hillsdale.
Foul trouble for the flex
guard. Plays like a
forward.
Duran will go to the line for two
Chance to extend this lead to six here in the waning moments of the first half
11 seconds you have to play
And the first shot is in
Yeah that's two for Stonebreaker
One for Glazer and two for McWenny going fouls-wise
So Hillsdale relatively safe right now in the foul game
As compared to Saginaw Valley State
Two for Josephs, two for Thomas, two for Taylor, two for Stefansky
they're going to be worried going to this second half.
Duran puts the second free throw in.
It's 42, 36, 11 seconds to play for Hillsdale.
Stonebreaker dribbles up the court, passes to McWinney in the left corner.
McWinney misses the three.
A long rebound goes to McWinney.
He dribbles back out to the three-point line, puts up the shot with 0.5, and he's fouled.
He's fouled.
A foul called on Saginaw Valley State, number 11 on the first half.
And McWinney, it's rolled a three-point.
shot. McWinney successfully driveled the ball back out to the three.
Nope. The referees will review the foul call. Either they're reviewing the foul call or they are
reviewing whether McWinney was behind the three point line when he pulled up for the shot.
This will be big because that's a difference between two shots and three and that's the
difference between a one or a two possession game assuming McWinney is able to make his free
throws, which he has been able to historically.
right McWenney is 100% on the season so far seven of seven on Friday night you're trusting him to put these free throws in get you at least two points on the board depending on how they review this Sagina Valley State though I mean I mentioned it just a minute ago that was that was Taylor Nichols for another foul he used he was their leading minutes he's the leading minutes leader for this Saginaw Valley State team coming in from last year everyone else either transferred out or graduated and now he's at two fouls as well that's five players for
Saginaw Valley State with two fouls apiece.
That's scary.
Coming from Shelby, Michigan
in De LaSalle High School,
a basketball powerhouse, to be certain.
Obviously, we would love to have him on the court.
And in the second half,
Xavier Thomas will come in for Saginaw Valley State.
It is ruled three shots for Cole McWenny.
The first is up and in, no doubt.
But yeah, Xavier Thomas had to sit out
the last eight minutes of this half
in foul trouble for Saginaw Valley State,
and that really turned the game in Hillsdale's favor.
When he returns in the second half,
we could once again see Saginaw Valley State come out strong.
And if that happens and Hillsdale is down double digits laid in the game,
you have to think with how little experience there is on this team compared to last year,
probably won't be able to pull out a close game pin.
Right, Xavier Thomas, in those first 11 minutes,
had two rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
he was doing everything this team needed him to do
and then you look at Marquis Joseph
he has not had the game that they needed him to have
outside of the points he needs to be a little bit more of a playmaker
with Xavier Thomas probably not playing a lot of this
but Scott has been the guy for this team
seven points three rebounds two assists and a block
in the wake of Xavier Thomas leading the game
and Joseph's not having that really team building game
Scott has stepped up and he's filled that role
let's see where it goes in the second half
Shots two and three. Good for Cole McWinney. Once again, no doubt in McWinney's free throw shooting ability.
Nothing but net. And with 0.5 seconds left on the clock, Saginaw Valley State just touched the ball off the inbound.
The half expires. It is 42 to 39. Saginaw Valley State leading the Hillsdale Chargers in their home opener.
Payton, you talked a little bit about the story from the first half. Obviously, Dantes Scott picking up for a
Saginaw Valley State, where Xavier Thomas left off.
But say a little bit about Hillsdale, an ugly beginning.
What was the determining factor that allowed them to change the story of this game
from an absolute blowout as it was shaping up to be in the first half to a very close game here entering half time?
I think it just has to be turnovers.
In those first nine or ten minutes, you had five turnovers from that Hillsdale offense.
In the following ten minutes, they cut that in half, only two.
on top of that you have Stonebreaker going three of three from the three point line
when your big man is putting up those three point shots and they're going in
that is going to energize that offense and it was just enough
Hillsdale got back into this game three points from what was a 16 point deficit
so with Stonebreaker's help
and not the least bit of fortune and a lot of Saginaw Valley State
four passes and some shots that just rimmed out
Hillsdale is able to turn this game from 32 to 16 into a 42-39 game at half-time,
down one possession, and crucially, no players in foul trouble yet.
The same cannot be said for Saginaw Valley State,
and that will be a recurring theme we will see no doubt in the second half playing out.
We will keep an eye on it, we'll keep an eye on the shooting and the points in the paint.
But for now, we've got to take a break for halftime.
We've got to back in about 10 to 12 minutes to bring you the exciting second half here from Don Tibbitts Potter Arena.
Hillsdale trailing by three here at the half in their home opener.
You're listening to Hillsdale Chargers men's basketball on Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM.
And welcome back to the Georgia.
George C. Roche Sports and Athletics Complex and Don Tibbitts Potter Arena here at the beautiful Hillsdale College.
Lewis Thune alongside Peyton Hughes, gearing up for the second half of Hillsdale men's basketball's home opener against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals.
What was an ugly first half for the Hillsdale Chargers turned around in the last seven minutes, erasing a 16-point deficit, narrowing it to one before it was expanded back to three.
at the end of the half.
So Saginaw Valley State leading Hillsdale, 42 to 39.
Hayden, not having Mikey McCollum right now for Hillsdale.
They're really feeling it.
A man who produced so much for them last year as a scorer,
as a role player, leading in minutes and points
and so many important categories and so many important stats.
His presence not.
there on the court and it's being felt
they've really relied on
Connor Stonebreaker. Ashton
Janowski, Cole McWenny
contributing edgewise
but it's really been a story of Connor Stonebreaker
having to carry
Hillsdale back into this game.
Who's going to have to start performing
here in the second half to fill that
hole in order for Hillsdale
to overcome the halftime
deficit and win this
second game against the Saginaw Valley State
Gardinals? I'm looking at one gardener
looking at one forward, those being Ashtonanowski and C.J. Yarian. We saw C.J. Yarian get a lot of
good minutes early in this game, but he wasn't scoring very well. He wasn't being dominant
down in the paint. Only two points on those seven minutes. Compare that with Ashtonowski
at guard. Four points and 18 minutes of play. He's missed a three point. He's two of five from
the field. Get him some more shots. Get him driving the lane and get him giving fouls to
this already foul laden Saginaw Valley State team. Well, speak of the devil, Peyton, because
because Hillsdale runs an inbound play to begin the half, which opens C.J. Yarian in the paint,
and he puts in two. The deficit is now one, and the deficit is once again three,
as Dantes Scott does it all for Saginaw Valley State, dribbles up, pivots, hits the fade away,
two-pointer from the left elbow. It's good. Deficit three for Hillsdale.
Colmick winning with the ball at the top of the key, slips to C.J. Yerian.
The Euro step layup is blocked by the 6'10 junior in Kov.
Von Daler for Saginaw Valley State, but they will quickly give that ball right back to Hillsdale.
A charge is called on number one Marquise Josephs.
He hit Cole McWenney hard in the paint, and McWinney chose to take the fall.
The charge called excellent IQ there from Cole McWiney.
Less than a minute into this first, into the second half, and Tagalogist State already has another foul on the board.
They're already in scary position.
That's the third on Marquise Josephs.
Already a foul. Hillsdale starters back on the Colt. It's Garrett Bolt, Tommy Morgan, Cole McWinny, Ashton Janowski, and C.J. Yerrian. A moving screen called against Hillsdale against Yerian, or rather a block against C.J. Yerian. So Hillsdale will contribute a foul of their own and give the ball back to Saginaw Valley State down three.
With fouls being so prevalent and Hillsdale being able to get to the line so much,
We need to see Hillsdale establish that free throw game a little bit better.
Obviously, Cole McWinney has been able to sink all of his free throws,
but as much as Stonebreaker's been having a great game,
he's missed a lot of free throws.
Hillsdale's 7 of 16 from the charity strike this game.
They need to fix that up.
You need to be looking at 75% or better.
It's Dantez Scott and Xavier Thomas,
the two leading contributors for Saginaw Valley State.
And then in the pain, it's Kavanaugh-Taylor at 6'10.
Joining them also, Bryce and Huckabee.
And Tristan Nichols, two of the returning players for the Saginaw Valley State team obviously changed a lot from last year, as we observed in the first half.
Another foul. Check that. Two more fouls called against Hillsdale. A push was called against Bolty.
And then a block was called against, it looked like McWinney in the span of about five seconds of game clock.
Saginaw Valley State takes the ball. It's Nichols on the drive. Layup is no.
good, rebounded by Hillsdale.
C.J. Yarian will accept the ball
on the right wing and puts up a three.
The six foot 10 center
shooting the three. It's no good.
McWinney almost gets the rebound,
but it goes to Nichols instead.
Nichols drives against Bolte.
Check that against Tommy Morgan.
Good contest from Morgan. The shot is no good.
Rebound goes to Morgan and out to McWinney,
who brings the ball to the top of the Keyford Hillsdale,
passes to the left wing to Tommy Morgan.
who passes up Janowski on a cut back to McWenny
who finds C.J. Yerian on a cut to the hoop.
Yerian looked like he got hit on the arm.
He wanted the call from the referee, but no call.
His shot is no good, rebounded by Saginaw Valley State,
and a foul is called on Yerian.
The driving Bryson Huckabee ran full bore into C.J. Yarian,
and Yerian was more than willing to step in his way.
So a hard hit, Huckabee, not too shaken up, but C.J. Yerri had visibly disappointed.
I know I mentioned it just a minute ago.
Yerry needs to get big in this game.
He's already had two good shots, three good shots.
One of them went in.
He's got two points on the half, but he's had that Euro step on that last possession,
which he probably should have gotten the foul call, but you're not always going to get those.
I think he's wanting to dominate this game.
He looks like he has the energy.
He'll still just keep getting that ball back into Yerry, dominate the paint so that they can get some of these free
point shots to be more open.
Yerian's got 30 pounds on his opponent there in the paint.
Check that.
Yerian's got 70 pounds on his opponent there in the paint.
I'm sure Coach Bradley is hoping and praying that Yerian can start making this a more
physical contest there in the paint as Hillsdale will miss a two.
and the rebound goes to Saginaw Valley State.
Huckabee on the right wing pulls up for three, and it's good.
Saginaw Valley State 49, 41.
A 70-pound differential there.
Kovon Taylor, 6'10 and skinny.
C.J. Yerian, 6'10, 230 pounds.
Passes to Cole McWinney on the perimeter,
denies the screen from Yerian.
The shot's no good.
Morgan can't grab the rebound.
Saginaw Valley State takes the ball.
Huckabee from way.
downtown is no good but rebounded by Xavier Thomas working on Garrett
Boltey and against the double team puts up a shot it's no good
rebounded by Boltee passed out to McWinney who's looking to get the fast
break going decides against it guarded by Thomas passes to
Boltie Scott on him at the top of the key Yerian on the left wing taking the
three nowhere near where it needed to be rebounded by Huckabee
disappointing start for the hafer Z.J. Yerian
dayden certainly he has three fouls already this game hillsdale's taking a really big risk here
keeping him in like you mentioned he has that 70 pounds strength on his opponent savior thomas
i think that is and he just we're not using it hillsdale's keeping him on the perimeter he needs to get
down low like he was early in this first in the second half tristan nichols drives for saganoe valley
state and scores the two on c j yarion killsdale gives the ball back to yarion for three
And this time, Yerian converts.
The deficit was 10 there after Nichols converted.
It's back to 7.
Yarian with the three from the left wing.
Saginaw Valley State brings the ball up.
And Xavier Thomas looks to answer with a three of his own from the corner.
Not trusting the offensive set there, just pulling the three.
It's no good.
Cole McWenny, high screen from Yerian, passes back to Yerian.
Yerian passes up the three dribbles in on the left-hand drive, and he is fouled there.
And that is going to be the third on Kavana,
Kavana Taylor, obviously, that's the 70-pound weight difference.
When C.J. Yarian is driving down that paint.
He needs to be in position.
He wasn't.
That's going to give the foul.
That's three on him and that's three on Marquis Josephs.
This Saginaw Valley State team is in trouble.
Coach Chris Fowler for Saginaw Valley State as alternative between Kavanaugh and Aiden Duran.
Duran provides him that physicality, but Kavanaughan Taylor taller and a better scorer.
He's providing them that offensive edge in the paint, creating that.
that threat off the screens to cut to the hoop.
With him in foul trouble, it'll be Yerian against Duran.
And with that height advantage, it's definitely looking to slide in Yerian's favor.
So Coach Kevin Bradley here for Hillsdale will be more than happy to exploit that weakness as it becomes available.
But Payton, overall, not a great start to the half for Hillsdale, finally broke the lid, put up three more points.
but it's 51.44. The deficit was three. It's now seven, five minutes into the second half.
And Saginaw Valley State looks spectacular on defense.
Well, I think it's come down to Hillsdale trying to rely on these last three minutes around the perimeter.
Hillsdale's taken four of those shots. Five of those shots, only one of those has gone in.
Hillsdale was over 50% from three in the first half thanks to Connor Stonebreaker.
They haven't had the same good shooting luck.
When your shots aren't fallen, you need to be able to adjust and work yourself back into that paint.
And I think we're going to see what happens with how CJ hearing can work there if Kvon Taylor isn't in the game.
And here is the line change for Coach Kevin Bradley.
It's Caleb Glazer.
It's Paxton Geertz.
It's Raylan Morris.
It's Connor Stonebreaker.
And staying on the court will be Ashton Janowski.
And right on cue, Connor Stonebreaker.
in for two points on the layup guarded closely took his time put it in five-point deficit for hillsdale
and immediately they get a steal that's paxton geertz bringing the ball up on the fast break
hits the brakes and decides to set the offense hands the ball off to ashton jannowsky on the left wing
who passes right back to geertz in the left corner it's off the side of the backboard and no good
rebounded they're in once again aidan duran gives the ball to dants scott for saganov alley state
at the top of the key, guarded by Janowski.
Hands off to Tristan Nichols, who passes inside to Aidan Duran.
And a hold is called on Connor Stonebreaker there,
trying to tie up Duran before he could put the ball up.
Yeah, it didn't look like he got that second paw around there
to hold on to that ball, just the one.
But a heavy forward lineup for Sagina Valley State
with Scott Thomas, Saffanski, Nichols, and Duran.
They want to maintain, even though they have the height,
difference favoring Hillsdale
they're trying to keep some strength down there
in the fence. That's five fouls already
on the half for Hillsdale. Xavier Thomas
converts a layup for Saginaw Valley
State, guarded closely by Stonebreaker
but takes his time, puts
it in. Deficit is seven for
Hillsdale Janowski with the ball at the top of the key
pass to Braylon Morris. Brailin Morris on the left wing, pulls up
for three. No good, rebounded by
Saginaw Valley State. That's Tristan
Nichols. They look to run in transition,
but Braylin Morris intercepts a pass.
Lazy pass from Stefanski. He drives
to the hoop, switches to the left hand, and it's good from the left side.
53-48 for Hillsdale, heads-up play there from Braylon Morris to reach his hand up,
deflect that pass to himself from Stefansky and get the fast break points.
And those are the first fast-break points in the game for Hillsdale.
Xavier Thomas, what looked like a walk, gets the ball up, floats it in the air,
bounces out of the rim, it's rebounded by Duran, contested by Caleb Glazer and Connor Stonebreaker,
out of bounds ruled out off of Saginaw Valley State. Stonebreaker will
inbound for Hillsdale down five and it looks like Paxton Geertz will bring the ball up for the
Chargers. Now checking back in for the Chargers is Tommy Morgan as Jonowski will take a well
deserved breather and they'll look to lean on Connor Stonebreaker for points. Tommy Morgan
left to Stonebreaker top of the key guarded by Tristan Nichols.
Hands the ball off to Braylon Morris. Braylin Morris drives with his.
right hand. It's batted away and off Morris's foot out of bounds. Turnover for
Salgado for Hillsdale balls at Saginaw Valley State, Geertz and Stonebreaker. Check out for Hillsdale
and coming in in their place looks like Garrett Boltey and Connor McWinney. So a smaller
lineup than we're accustomed to seeing for Hillsdale. Tallest player on the court will be
Caleb Glazer at six foot eight. Forward plays like a guard. Occasionally plays guard, but
plays guard like a forward and there missed his man on the help defense aidan duran had a wide open
three put it up it was no good but off of what looked like tommy morgan's foot out of bounds
rebound was not corralled Saginaw Valley state will retain possession it might be a smaller lineup
for hillsdale here but coach Kevin bradley's seeing with with cavan taylor not in the lineup for
sagano valley state he can pull off from his taller guys give them a breather keep glazer in as that big
post-threat, and just let the game roll from there.
And it looks like Coach Fowler downsizing as well.
It's Jalen Duran, and then it's Jack Stefansky, Marquise Joseph's, Trenton Territuta.
And that would appear to be Tristan Nichols.
Nichols on the drive puts up a two-point shot, well-contested, right-hand from about eight feet away.
Banks in.
Conor Col McWinney will bring the ball up for Hillsdale.
That's it to Braylon Morris. Morris on the drive is called for a push trying to free up his hand for a shot and it is really pushed off his Saginaw defender.
Saginaw Valley State will be in the bonus now on this next foul. That's six fouls already for Hillsdale.
Only seven and a half minutes into the game. This is a similar position to where we saw Saginawley State in last half and we might be putting Hillsdale in a similar position just from a foul perspective on some of those better players.
12 minutes to play in the second half. Hillsdale, down seven to Saginaw Valley State.
Jalen Duran with the ball for State on a drive tries to hand off to Stefanski. It's no good.
Braylin Morris on the fast break. He's got speed up with the right hand and good.
He beat three Saginaw State defenders down the court and put it in easy. No contests there.
Excellent hustle there from Braylin Morris to get that ball up the court.
And he narrows the deficit to buy 55, 50, 50, just under 12 to play.
And is once again Marquis Joseph's driving.
It's no good.
Jack Stefansky can't get the rebound.
Hillsdale has a five-on-four advantage.
And Braylon Morris will once again drive to the bucket.
It's good.
Switches from the left to the right hand from the left side, puts it in off the backboard against a double team, no less.
Excellent body control from Braylon Morris.
Speed kills.
It's a three-point deficit.
Is Jack Stefansky will look to send it back up for Saginaw Valley State.
It misses his three-point shot misses.
It's batted out of bounds by Aidan Duran.
trying to tip the ball to himself.
We will enter a media timeout with a three-point deficit.
Braylon Morris, the freshman guard out of Heath, Ohio.
A great rotation for Hillsdale.
Doubtless, we will see the starters enter back into the lineup.
And we will also take a timeout along with this media timeout.
You're listening to Hillsdale Chargers men's basketball
on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
My name is Megan Peacock, and you're listening to What's in a Name on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
Today we'll be talking about the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, Arizona.
Its history starts in 400 AD with the Ho-Hocum people who built an effective irrigation system through canalways in the desert, which still exists in pieces today.
It is believed a drought led to their demise in 1400 AD.
Its modern history starts in the 19th century, when, in 1867, a Confederate soldier by the name of Jack Swilling, founded
the swelling irrigation canal company.
He moved there to take advantage of what the Ho-Hocum had already built.
Because it was a city rising from the ashes of a past civilization,
fellow pioneer Daryl Dupa suggested the name Phoenix
after the mythical bird who did the same.
Thus, the city of Phoenix was born and officially put on the record on May 4th, 1868,
now the capital of Arizona in the fifth most populous city in the United States,
its name fittingly pays tribute to both the spirit of pioneer America
and the people of ages past.
55-52 ball game here with 11 minutes to play in the second half of Hillsdale men's basketball's home opener against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals.
They fell to these same Cardinals 79, 77, just two days ago.
And now on the court for Coach Bradley will be Cole McWinney, Garrett Boltey, the freshman Jacob Meyer, Caleb Glazer.
and it appears to be Tommy Morgan there in the corner
as Hillsdale will control the ball.
They move the ball inside to Caleb Glazer
who puts up a two guarded closely by Kavanae Taylor.
Shots no good.
Cole McWenney tries to grab the rebound
but can't quite control it.
It bounces out of bounds off of McWenny's hands.
Ball goes to Saginaw Valley State.
With Glazer, Boltey, and Meyer here on the floor for Hillsdale,
Meyer plays part of kind of this guard forward mix, and Volty and Glazer have not really played together on the floor much this game.
We've really seen Glazer and Stonebreaker be the duo, so let's see how that plays out.
Hillsdale's trying to play big here, but keep in mind, Kavana Taylor is back in the game, so Hillsdale needs to be strong here.
Meyer, the Redshirt Jr. Guard, surprisingly good at rebounding for his size, not a specifically large guard, not specifically built either,
a scrappy player
through and through
has proved very crucial for Hillsdale
especially in free throw situations
three rebounds off of missed
free throws and Hillsdale has missed plenty of free throws
babe right
I mean Hillsdale not looking too strong
from the charity strike 44% still 7 of 16
no free throws on the half
they haven't put they haven't put an emphasis
on drawing fouls for Saginawale State
what was a weakness early in the half
has now become kind of an even game
And Hillsdale was called in the air for a foul against Kavanaugh-Taylor.
The 6'10 yet skinny forward for Saginaw Valley State, putting them in the bonus.
And Taylor makes both free throws.
5752 Saginaw Valley State McWinney with the ball for Hillsdale.
Passes to the top of the key, it's Garrett Boltey.
That's a foul on Marquise Joseph.
That is his fourth.
Saginaw Valley State had all five of their starters in the game right now.
They're heavily disputing this call.
It looks like they wanted a foul called on number one Hillsdale, Caleb Glazer.
But instead, the call was number one Saginaw Valley State.
Marquise Joseph's.
Coaching staff is not too happy about that for Saginaw Valley State.
And an offball foul called, will this one be on Caleb Glazer?
Looked like Glazer hit the floor alongside Tristan Nichols for Saginaw Valley State.
No, in fact, the play was whistled dead, a wet spot on the floor.
No foul called.
Resuming play from underneath the basket.
The inbound is to Jacob Meyer from McWinney.
Contested.
McWinney gets the rebound, and a jump ball is called with Tristan Nichols.
A wide open Meyer cutting to the basket.
but heavily contested there it looked like bryson huckabee and tristan nichols there trying to get
their hands on the ball mire missed to the layup having to adjust midair givon taylor skinny for
six ten but he's such long arms he was able to contest even when cole mcgrini was wide open
so it'll be dants scott for sagano valley state still up five he passes to tristan nichols
who will give the ball to zavier thomas their leading score at the top of the key
Thomas drives right hand into the paint.
Passes to Taylor.
Taylor shot up and it's blocked by Caleb Glazer.
A brilliant pass from Xavier Thomas,
but Glazer reacted in time to deny the shot there for Kavanae Taylor.
So Glazer will take the ball up for Hillsdale.
Alexa not handed off to Cole McWinney instead passing out to Jacob Meyer at the top of the key.
He will hand off to Boltie, who will toss a short pass to McWinney for three wide open.
it's good. Colmick Winnie does not miss the open shot. A two-point game now, 57-55.
Jontes Scott with the ball for Saginaw Valley State on the right wing, guarded by Bulte.
Good defense from Bulte, denying him the drive. Passes out to Xavier Thomas. The Hillsdale crowd
finally getting into the game as Huckabee almost, almost loses the ball. And this time, Nichols does
lose the ball. It was Tommy Morgan scrambling for it. He couldn't grab it, hit the ground.
and called out of bounds off of Hillsdale,
but crucially no change in possession there.
So Saginaw Valley State will inbound
from right about mid-court
with six seconds to shoot,
trying to open up a shot here
with nine minutes left to play in the second half
and a two-point lead
in the game that Hillsdale has not led.
Huckabee will inbound.
Xavier Thomas breaks open,
but Huckabee passes long to Taylor.
Taylor's shot is no good.
It's rebounded by
once again Connor Stonebreaker on the court for Hillsdale he grabs that rebound back to McWinney for
three shots no good rims out McWinney upset about it it looked like he lost to the ball as he was going up
still managed to get it close to the rim but a bit of a fumbled dribble there for McWinney and now he's
stuck guarding Xavier Thomas a massive size differential there Thomas takes full advantage backs up
Fadeaway 2 is good from close.
Deficit is now 4 for Hillsdale, 59, 55.
It's Ashton Janowski with the ball.
Passes to Colmick Winnie.
Off ball screen for Janowski.
And for Jacob Meyer.
Jacob Meyer drives through, finds Janowski in the left corner who passes back out to
Meyer.
The open three is there, but he will drive instead.
Dishes off to Caleb Glazer, who puts up the two.
The two is no good.
But a foul is called on the attempted rebound against
It looks like
Was that Taylor or was that Huckabee?
I thought I saw him put up five.
If that's on Taylor, that's going to be his fourth.
It looks like it's called against Huckabee,
or at least Huckabee is the one angry at the official.
No, it's not called on the rebound.
It's called in the air for Caleb Glazer
who misses the first free throw.
Yet again, Payton.
And there's Kavanaugh-Taylor coming out.
Missed free throws for Hillsdale,
an absolute killer in this game.
at this point hillsdale just has to be happy kavana taylor is off the floor they were putting him right in the center of the pain on defense he could stand there and he was blocking everything blazer was getting good shots up but kvon taylor is just too lanky so it's glazer and stonebreaker anchoring the post for hillsdale
and then braylon morris has checked into the game as glazer misses his second free throw as well and then jinooski and mcweeney on the court for saganaw valley state it'll be dants scottes scott brice scott bris
Huckabee, Jalen Duran in the post,
Xavier Thomas handling the ball and Tristan Nichols as the shooting guard.
Janowski will bring the ball up for Hillsdale as Saginaw Valley State misses the open three.
Colmick Winnie will drive.
Shots no good.
Looks like he fumbled it, got it back out to Stonebreaker.
Stonebreaker misses the 3.59.55, 7 and a half to play in this second half.
Xavier Thomas controls the ball for Saginaw Valley State uses the screen from Duran.
Stonebreaker gets around the other side at the hoop, puts up a reverse layup, it's no good,
knocked out of bounds off of Caleb Glazer and two, a media timeout, under seven and a half to play
here in the second half of Hillsdale's home opener, down four in a game they have not led.
We will take a break beside them.

Janiste, Fox News.
Welcome back to Don Tippett's Potter Arena, Lewis Thune, alongside Payton Hughes-Hughes Hillsdale Trails 595, about halfway through this second half against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals.
Payton, Hillsdale, the three-point shot has begun to fall after a terrible showing on Friday from both teams beyond the perimeter.
But tonight, Payden, the story for Hillsdale has been the free throw cannot fall.
Exactly right. If Hillsdale was shooting 75% from the free throw line, they would be up right now.
They would be up by three points. But unfortunately, there's 7 of 18, 39% from free throw.
Hillsdale needs to improve that as we go in the last seven minutes the game.
39% from the line for Hillsdale, an absolutely atrocious number as Saginaw Valley State will inbound the ball off the media timeout.
Dantes Scott with it, driving with his right hand. And a block, a block is called against Braylon Morris.
he tried to take the charge against Dantes Scott.
But already in the bonus,
Dante Scott will go to the line.
That's only the second for Morris,
but that's eight for Hillsdale this hat.
That's putting us in a scary position
as Hillsdale goes maybe into that double bonus
this next foul or two.
Dante Scott puts in the free throw,
something Hillsdale has not been able to do.
Affirmationed, he will get another
off the one-in-one 60 to 55.
Gents to put this from a five-point game to a six-point game,
potentially expand this lead.
Shot is up, and good.
No doubt for Dantes Scott.
And Saginaov-L.E. State is in a press against Hillsdale.
They trap Cole McWinney.
McWenny passes to Stonebreaker, and Hillsdale on the break.
Stonebreaker looks for an opening, doesn't see.
It hands the ball off to McWenney.
They will set the offense.
McWinney is guarded by Aidan Duran.
And back into the game is C.J. Yerian,
for Hillsdale, Yerian on the perimeter.
Nothing there puts inside to Connor Stonebreaker guarded by Dantes Scott.
Mishmatch, mouse in the house called Stonebreaker.
Easy money against Dantz Scott, only six feet tall compared to Stonebreaker's six foot seven.
And it is a four-point game once again.
Right with CJ Yerian back in the game, Hillsdale's going to be looking to dominate that pain.
Aidan Duren gets the entry pass.
And no good on the layup.
Once again, a great pass from Xavier Thomas, setting up his post for success, but Duran can't cash it in.
Connor Stonebreaker on the cut, a beautiful pass from Cole McWinney, a bounce around his man against the blind at Saginaw State Defender, and they fumbled the in-bounce pass.
They fumbled the in-bounce pass.
Dantes Scott attempted to hand the ball to Xavier Thomas, and Xavier Thomas didn't see it.
The ball bounces out of bounds.
A careless turnover for Saginaw Valley State in Hillsdale is now down to.
Two points with the ball.
They have not led yet this game and a chance to tie or take the lead here.
The inbound passes to Cole McWinney, guarded by Dantes, got six minutes to play.
Scott smothers McWinney.
Passes to Gerion at the top of the key who enters to Ashton Janowski.
Dribbles back out.
Garian, top of the key, swings to Connor Stonebreaker.
They like this matchup.
Stonebreaker, a long two is no good.
Off the rim and over the backboard, out of bounds called.
hillsdale is constantly looking to run that baseline back and forth and back and forth three baseline runs on that last possession they got some good shots up but they just didn't fall hillsdale is trying to work low with kvon taylor not in the game right now
CJ Yerian and Stonebreaker, both being Hillsdale's leading scorers in the paint.
They want to work low.
They want to get more fouls with the Saginaw Valley State team and get more points in the paint.
They get physical again.
Coach Kevin Bradley has brought Hillsdale out into two-three zone,
and it's quickly broken by Saginaw Valley State.
Tristan Nichols, working on the much taller CJ Yerian is able to convert the two-point shot.
It is a five-point lead once again.
Two possessions for Saginaw Valley State.
Yerian will control the ball on the left wing.
6-foot-10 center.
Playing guard at the top of the key.
Open in the corner is Stonebreaker.
No good.
4-3 rebound, Xavier Thomas against Ashton Janowski.
The switch defense now.
Braylon Morris is guarding him and left wide open on the left side of the court is
Don Tess Scott and he says, thank you very much.
The three-pointer is good.
66 to 59.
Ashton Janowski will bring the ball up for Hillsdale.
Nick Winnie sets the off ball.
screen opening up Braylon Morris.
Braylon Morris enters to C.J.
Yarian on the left block.
Wide across the court to Ashton Janowski, the open three is good for Hillsdale, answering right back 66 to 62.
A timeout is called.
It is uncertain whether that was Chris Fowler for Saginaw Valley State or head coach Kevin
Bradley for Hillsdale.
But doubtless, both of these defenses want to talk it over after back-to-back lapses.
Hillsdale with that completed three-pointer
now has the same completion percentage
on the same number of shots
as of three-pointers and free throws.
Either that means you're having the greatest three-point game of your life
or you're having the worst free-throw game of your life.
And unfortunately for Hillsdale, it is the worst free throw game
that they could have today.
39% 7 of 18, that's the same percentage on both three-point and free throws.
It's never a good day or perhaps it's an amazing day
when you're shooting the same from the perimeter as you are.
from the charity stripe and in hillsdale's case it is a very very bad day seven of 18 from the
three point line is respectable you want to be over one in three and that's exactly where they are
that's exactly where you need to be to win games but from the free throw line seven of 18 in a game
where sagano valley state has struggled with fouls hillsdale has been unable to capitalize on
those mistakes and it has clearly bit them down four in this second half
half, baby. Hillsdale is really trying to bring it in, though, in this last five minutes of the
game here, Hillsdale has, like I mentioned a second ago, C.J. Yerian and Connor Stonebreaker,
working that high, low post, and then working Braylin Morris and Connor Cole McWenney along
that baseline. They're trying to work low as long as Kvon Taylor is not playing defense
inside the box. Let's see if Kvon Taylor comes out of this timeout. Last five minutes, he has
four fouls. They need him to play strong here.
Hillsdale needs to shut down Dantes Scott, the guard for Saginaw Valley State.
And of course, Xavier Thomas, Xavier Thomas led this team in scoring in the first half
and has since then become an orchestrator in the second half.
He's found an open Dantes Scott.
He's found an open Kavanaugh-Taylor.
Taylor hasn't been able to convert.
Scott most certainly has.
Taylor is back on the court alongside Tristan Nichols, Jack Stephansky, the Western Michigan transfer.
Xavier Thomas, the Toledo transfer.
An off-ball foul is called on a loose ball.
Connor Stonebreaker dove to try and grab a ball that Jack Stefansky had dropped and hit
Stefansky hard.
The foul is called.
And bonus.
So, Stefansky will head to the line.
That will be the fourth on Connor Stonebreaker and then nine for the Hillsdale Chargers here.
Four minutes, 20 seconds left in the clock.
66, 62.
Stafansky, two shots.
Check that.
It's a one-in-one, and Stafansky missed an uncharacteristic free-throw miss for Jack Stifansky.
Pays Hillsdale back for all their miss free throws.
It's Caleb Glazer, Connor Stonebreaker, Braylon Morris, Cole McWinney, and Ashton Janowski.
The ball is entered to Stonebreaker in the paint.
He's double-team, gets it back out to McWinney.
McWinney passes up an open shot.
Ashton Janowski.
dribbles in for a two. It's no good. Rebounded by Caleb Glazer. He puts up a two.
Guarded closely. It's no good. Glazer gets the rebound. Attempts to throw it back out to
McWinney. It's no good. Xavier Thomas gets the ball. Drives up court. The fast break.
Layup is good. Fowled by Ashton Janowski. That not only puts Hillsdale in the double bonus,
but gives Xavier Thomas an and one free throw attempt. 68 to 62. Hillsdale down six,
less than four to play here
in the second half. Media
timeout is upon us,
so we will take the time out with
the teams. You're listening to Hillsdale

A 68-62 ball game here at Don Tibbitts Potter Arena.
The 0-1 Hillsdale Chargers against the 1-0 Saginaw Valley State Cardinals.
These two teams met before.
Two days ago, as we've alluded to previously in the broadcast,
Peyton, it was a two-point game then.
it's a six-point game now
and Hillsdale misses Mikey McCollum
badly
right they need that deep ball threat
they need a pure scorer to come out
onto this field on this court
and take charge of the game
right now I don't know who it's going to be for Hillsdale
they're trying to work low but Gavon Taylor has been
so strong in the paint blocking just about
everything Hillsdale needs to figure that out
get a couple threes in here and live in the
offense again and then we'll see that Hillsdale game
back to where it needs to be
Xavier Thomas misses the N1
free throw for Saginaw Valley State.
So Hillsdale will take the ball down six.
It's Ashton Janowski with it, driving against Dantes Scott.
He's smothered, no good.
He'll pass back out to Tommy Morgan.
Top of the key to Caleb Glazer and Connor Stonebreaker.
Stonebreaker passes to Morgan, cuts.
Morgan gets open.
Stonebreaker was open in the corner.
Morgan didn't see him, gave it to Caleb Glazer instead.
Three to shoot.
Connor McWinney with the ball.
Shot is no good for three, but rebounded by Caleb Glazer,
wide open on a cut to the basket and with no one to contest him he will say thank you and cash in
the layup glazer's been missing in close all the game but that is one that it is impossible to
miss my goodness what defense there from colmic winnie marquise joseph had the ball for saganoff valley
state and burned the hillsdale defense i believe it was ashton jenowsky on him left hand wide
open lane to the basket. McWinney jumped in the lane, reached out his hand and managed to grab a
hold of the ball and did not let go. That was a wide open two points that Cole McWinney just
stole from Saginaw Valley State and Hillsdale gets the jump ball. So it'll be Caleb Glazer
at the top of the key. Passes to Tommy Morgan. Morgan working on Dantes Scott. A weak defense in
the post. Morgan back Scott down puts up to two and it's a two point game. Sixty-eight, 66.
With two and a half left to play in the game,
Dantes Scott will bring the ball up for Saginaw Valley State.
Hillsdale has not led in this game.
The deficit has been one.
It's been two, it's been three.
It's been as big as 16, but now they have a chance.
Joseph's with the ball,
passes to Huckabee in the corner,
back to Joseph's on the right wing.
And then to Xavier Thomas, the orchestrator, on the left wing.
Dante Scott is in the corner.
Thomas opts for the right corner instead to Bryson Huckabee,
who drives and puts in a tough two.
wants the foul call, but he does not get it.
Two points of four-point deficit under two to play.
Cole McWenny with the ball for Hillsdale.
Denies the screen from Caleb Glazer.
Passes instead to Stonebreaker.
Glazer inside.
Glazer with a nice pivot move against the much taller Kavanaugh-Taylor.
Taylor can't guard Glazer.
Glazer puts up the two right under Taylor's outstretch hands.
It's a two-point deficit yet again.
a minute and a half to play
and the whistle
is blown dead
that was from the previous possession
it was Bryson Huckabee who drove in
converted a tough two-point shot
and fell on the ground no foul was called
but he left a massive wet spot
he has been sweating all night
so Saginaw Valley State
will inbound the ball as that
wet spot has been taken care of
the ball is given to Xavier
Thomas and they will take their time a minute 30 left to play up to they will use the full shot
clock here at Xavier Thomas passes Hillsdale in the two three defense savior Thomas at the top of
the key gives to Bryson Huckabee from way down down the three is good bryson Huckabee no doubt from
three steps past the three point line pulls up and knocks it in it's a five point game with a
minute to play and Hillsdale needs to score right now. Caleb Glazer at the top of the key
guarded by Kavanaugh-Taylor. Hands off to Janowski. Janowski to Murphy. Murphy under the
basket can't find anything. Hands off to Glazer. Glazer for two. It's no good. Rebounded by
Bryson Huckabee with 40 seconds to play. Saginaw Valley State will run the clock down five
in Hillsdale intentional foul. It's Tommy Morgan there.
with the intentional foul, sending Dantes Scott to the line for two.
Bryson Huckabee, one of two returning starters for this Saginaw Valley State team
in the biggest moment comes through, putting the Cardinals up five on Hillsdale.
That three point was basically from the logo in the corner.
That's about as far as you can get without being almost a half-court shot,
and it seems like they were playing for it.
They dropped that down to the last two seconds of their possession.
They knew they wanted to get the ball to him, and he was confident in that shot.
Then on this last possession, it just seemed Hillsdale, they weren't quite certain what play they were running.
They were working the ball around, but they didn't have anyone making intentional movements.
It left Tommy Morgan, Tommy Morgan stranded in the middle of the paint.
He gives the ball to Glazer.
Glazer was too far away.
A little hook couldn't do too much there with Juan Taylor ready.
Dantes Scott makes both free throws.
McWinney will bring the ball up for Hillsdale.
They need a bucket.
Janowski uses the screen from Glazer, pulls up for three.
three, it's good. It's good.
Shot is good. Four point deficit.
Coach, head coach, Kevin Bradley, will call the timeout for Hillsdale.
They need to set this defense and work out their offense.
Four points they need in 25 seconds against Saginaw Valley State.
The press is on.
This is a clutch moment.
Payton, what is head coach Kevin Bradley drawn up right now?
He is drawing up everything.
That is the last Hillsdale timeout.
He has to figure out the offense and the defense for the rest of this game.
I think there was a little hesitation on the first of the game.
I think there was a little hesitation on this last possession, two possessions ago,
where Hillsdale didn't know who they needed to foul.
Tommy Morgan had no fouls.
Hillsdale lost about six seconds trying to figure out who they wanted to send to intentionally foul.
They can't be sending McGuney.
He's already at three.
You don't want to risk losing him.
So you're drawing up some sort of play on this next possession.
After having a great defense, you're going to want to protect that three because they're confident.
You're going to be fouling with Tommy Morgan.
You want him guarding that ball.
I don't know if you're going to have Stonebreakerer out there,
but you cannot have him making a foul.
He already has four.
You're going to file the second this ball gets in.
Hopefully you can trap.
You're going to have full court press.
Hopefully you can trap.
But if not, you want Tommy Morgan on that foul.
Just about everybody else in some sort of trouble.
Maybe Jacob Meyer, if you can't, if he's on the floor.
I'm just not sure.
I would be opting for defense here.
I want to see Jacob Meyer and Braylon Morris in the game.
You need the speed.
You need the long arms.
But it looks like head coach Kevin Bradley is going
just stick with the five he's got right now.
It'll be Stonebreaker, it'll be McWinney,
and then it'll be Janowski,
joined by Tommy Morgan and Caleb Glazer.
The inbounder for Saginaw Valley State
will be Bryson Huckabee,
who hit the outstanding three-point shot
from far beyond the three-point line
to put Saginaw Valley State up five.
The inbound passes to Dantès-Scott.
He's trapped,
reaching for the ball, Scott will go to the free throw line with 23 seconds on the clock.
No timeouts for head coach Kevin Bradley, as you alluded to, Payton.
For better or worse, Hillsdale is going to have to run this offense and find an open shot.
Dantes Scott steps up to the line for two.
He had Tommy Morgan and Conn McWenny there trapping up at that very front.
It was a quick pass.
Connrickwinn goes to the ball, and for that reason, Tommy Morgan doesn't immediately foul.
It seems like McWenney had his hands somewhat on there, but he didn't.
He didn't have real possession with his fingers there.
So it ends up going.
Tommy Morgan doesn't foul.
McWanney gets the foul, that's his fourth.
Dante Scott makes the first free throw.
Saginaw Valley State will not contest to the rebound on this second free throw.
It is a five-point game, 76-61, and now it is six points.
77-71 Saginawally State.
The inbound is to McWenny.
He's guarded by Scott trying to drain as much clock as possible with a one-man press.
McWinney dribbles up.
Janowski is open on the curl.
He steps back for a short two-pointer fade away.
It's good.
The inbound's pass is in to Dantez Scott.
He's fouled by Caleb Glazer with 10 seconds left on the clock.
Still a four-point deficit.
Scott once again headed to the free-throw line where Saginaw Valley State has converted
and Hillsdale has not throughout the game.
An atrocious free-throw performance from the Chargers.
Contrast that with the Cardinals, just what it needs.
needed to be. Yeah, the Cardinals are 73% from the free throw line. Normally you're aiming for 75%,
but Deontes Scott has been perfect, eight for eight already. That makes his nine for nine. He's looking
for 10 for 10 here to go up six. Seventy-78-33. He converts the first free throw with 10 seconds left
in this ball game. And here is the second shot once again. Saginaw Valley State will not contest
this rebound. Shots no good. Caleb Glazer with the rebound. Hands off to Nick.
They need a shot right now.
Glazer will pass to McWinney.
McWinney, an off-balance three is no good.
Rebound goes to Dantes Scott.
He's fouled with 0.3 seconds left on the clock, and Saginaw Valley State will beat the Hillsdale Chargers.
79 to 77 two days ago.
Tonight, it'll be 80 to 73, presuming Dantes Scott makes these two free throws.
What a performance tonight after Zaybush.
your Thomas gets into foul trouble in the first half.
Dantes Scott steps up for this Saginaw Valley State team and delivers.
Hillsdale does not lead at any point in this game.
And Saginaw Valley State, Dantez Scott, making the first free throw will escape with the
win.
Yeah, I mean, the key here is fouls.
The shot is up.
The shot is good.
Stonebreaker will give the ball to McWinney.
80 to 73.
Saginaw Valley State, fighting Hillsdale in both of the openers.
Saginaw Valley State opened at home two days ago, beat the Chargers by two.
And in the Chargers home opener today, Saginaw Valley State gets them again.
A seven-point win.
Dantes Scott, perfect in this game for the same.
Saginaw Valley State Cardinals, the sophomore, every bit of leadership they needed from
guys like Xavier Thomas who weren't there on the floor due to foul trouble.
But you talk about coolness under pressure, you talk about leadership and experience.
Bryson Huckabee for this Saginaw Valley State Cardinals team with the play of the night from
three-point land. It was a two-point deficit. 30 seconds on the shot clock, and Xavier Thomas
catches the inbound pass from Huckabee, and then him, Huckabee, and Dantez Scott stand next to each other
for 10 seconds as the Hillsdale defense looks on. Huckabee says something to Xavier Thomas. Xavier
Thomas walks up to the top of the key with the ball against the two-three zone, passes to
Bryson Huckabee, and the 2-3 zone can't account for a man five feet beyond the three-point line.
Huckabee pulls up and buries it with a minute and a half left to put Saginaw Valley State up two
scores, a five-point game. Payton, I know the game does not come down to one play, especially for
Hillsdale with the amount of mistakes they made, but you have to think that if that one play had broken
differently for them. If Bryson Huckabee had not made that shot, this game might have turned out
otherwise. I completely agree. Like you said, this was a two-point game. It seems like the
energy was going Hillsdale's way. Hillsdale had the momentum. And yet that shot goes in from the deep
corner, basically from the logo. I don't know what to say. I mean, that that was a great shot.
Hillsdale played that properly. If he's going to try and take that, that's the one shot that they
want to take, you let them. You let them take that chance. That is the lowest percentage
shot you can basically have from your side of the court. And he sinks it as much as that
if you can account for one play, that's it. If you want to think of it from a broader perspective,
it is the free throw game for Hillsdale. Only making, I think, eight free throws on the day
is just not acceptable. Seven free throws, seven of 18. That's not acceptable. Coach is going to be
pointing that out all week. He's been pointing out between every single game. He's going to be saying,
Look, we lost by seven points.
If we make seven points, we're only 14 of 18.
That's where you want to be.
That's the little counting for missing four free throws.
Hillsdale played a really solid game offensively, a really solid game defensively.
I think outside of the free throws, when you watch both of these games on Friday night and tonight,
you're happy with Hillsdale's performance.
You have key players, McWenny, 13 points on 4 of 10 shooting.
You can improve that a little bit, but he was great the entire game, 35 minutes.
He was a great point guard.
He led this offense.
Caleb Glazer and Conner Stonebreaker worked together with McWenny a lot of times, running high, low,
opening all three of them up for good shots, good opportunities, good rebounds.
I'm happy with this Hillsdale offense.
I'm happy with the Hillsdale defense.
You just got to be able to lock down on those key few moments and make those free throws
and those broader game moments.
And this is a very different game.
Seven lead changes on Friday, none tonight.
And as much as Hillsdale shot themselves in the push.
shot themselves in the foot.
Bryce and Huckabee with that kill shot was absolutely spectacular.
But Payton, let me ask you, who's your MVP for this game?
I think it has to go to Dantez Scott.
He was 92% from the free throw line.
Saginaw State, Saginaw Valley State Guard, 33 minutes played, leading in minutes,
four of seven from the field, two of three from the three point, 21 points.
We saw Xavier Thomas on Friday of 31 points.
Hillsdale held him to seven.
He had a good first half, and the second half, he was more of a playmaker.
Hillsdale defense was strong on the players that they thought they needed to be strong with.
It just turns out that Dantes Scott turned into a prime player.
He was their leading score.
He was leading in rebounds.
He was leading in assists.
Dantes Scott did everything this team needed and some more.
Stepped up when they needed him in Saginaw Valley State shows they can win in more ways than one.
Hillsdale took Xavier Thomas out as a factor, and they got Dantes Scott for it.
A spectacular showing from him and a disappointing loss in the home opener for the Hillsdale charges
as they will drop to 0 and 2 on the year.
And that's where we're going to have to leave it from Don Tibbitts Potter Arena.
For Peyton Hughes, I'm Lewis Thune.
