The following is a special presentation of WRFH Forks.
The crowd is boring. It's a sold-out game here.
Takes the three.
Got that one that class is outside to Tavon.
Tavon takes the three, got that one.
Back-to-back three is with the Chargers.
They pulled ahead by three.
They'll charge your basketball on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7.
FM starts now.
You're a team.
Don't dumb down your dialing.
Hello and welcome.
You are listening to Radio Freehildo 101.1.7 FM Charger Basketball.
I'm Gordy.
And I'm Evan.
We have an exciting one here for you at Don Tibbitts Potter Arena,
a matchup between your Hillsdale Chargers
and the visiting Thomas Moore Saints.
New to the conference, but they've had a heck of a year.
Yeah, they have.
I mean, 17 and 8.
against 17 and 9.
Hillstall Chargers has one more loss in this team,
but really, this is a big game for both teams.
Whoever wins this game will most likely post the first round of the GMAX on Tuesday,
and probably you're going to see a rematch.
These two teams are probably going to be the 4-and-5 seed.
It just depends on who gets that home court advantage,
and in the playoffs that matters twice as much as it does in the regular season.
Yeah, for sure the Chargers, as we have mentioned,
the last couple cast have done very well at home,
a big win over Kentucky Wesleyan,
and then last weekend finding a way, or two weekends ago, sorry,
finding a way to beat Northwood on senior day by quite a bit.
A dominating victory coming off a game for Northwood where they beat Finley,
who Hillsdale did drop a game to against the road.
Hillsdale very up and down, January, February,
trying to find their rhythm here heading into postseason.
Yeah, they were hot really, really early in the season.
They've had some streaks of greatness and some streaks of, oh,
but here it is.
Big game tonight.
And one thing Hillsville does have on Thomas Moore is that
Thomas Moore has a negative turnover margin.
They turn the ball over a lot, and they don't really get a lot of steals.
So they're looking to make do on those turnovers.
They also shoot the three ball just a little bit better, although Thomas Moore does
cheat to do two, deep two way better.
So shooting is about average.
It's that turnover margin.
That's going to be the factor right there.
Yeah, for sure.
One interesting thing to note as well, sophomore Carson Brown didn't really start much at the
beginning of the season for Thomas Moore, but it's kind of filled in.
He's six-nine matching up with a guy.
like Big Rick, a guy for Hillsdale.
And a lot of times at this top of the hour,
we kind of talk about how Hillsdale is a size advantage,
and it's pretty close to this game.
Yeah, this is the first time.
Of course, when that guy subs out,
and Big Rick subs out,
you're going to have the size advantage over here.
Whoever is playing on CJ Yerrian,
but to start out, we actually are going to have a pretty easy-even-sized matchup at 6-9, 6-10.
Yeah, leading score for the Thomas More Saints is Casey George,
the 6-foot senior from all.
Ohio, and he's becoming one of the best offensive players in the G-MAC, averaging around 15 a game.
And a team that, like we said, this is only their second year, but in a tough conference,
having such a good record, should be interesting.
Yeah, Hill still likes to spread the ball around a lot.
I mean, get a lot of guys active.
Every single one of these players, 10 players deep, has played in all 26 games,
except the two games that were just a bitch was injured.
They've all played in 26 games.
That's incredible for a college team.
Yeah, a lot of depth.
Thomas Moore only goes about seven, eight deep.
So it should be interesting to see.
Chargers is able to wear him out.
But we are just about to start with the tip off Big Rick against the sophomore.
As we mentioned, Carson Brown should be a fun one here.
We are underway.
Tip in the air.
And back to Janowski.
Normal starting five for the Chargers.
Zone early from Thomas Moore on the right wing.
Wottoms kicks it to the corner to Beeson.
Drives to the middle, kicks it back to the corner.
Big Rick.
He pumps.
Drives middle.
Working here. Find Janowski on the right wing screen for Big Rick.
Working in the post here. Back to Janowski. His three-pointer from the ring.
Up and good. Your score 3-0, chargers up early.
Yeah, that's zone early. They're looking to double-team a lot, trying to force the issue.
But if you double-team a lot, you're going to open up wide-open threes like that.
George back the other way here for the Saints.
It's a high ball screen from Riley.
Working at the top of the key here. Brown swings it back to Kai Simpson, driving on
Janowski on the right wing gets to the cup no foul doesn't get it to go rebound clear by big
Rick in transition rudder on the left wing nobody stops ball he takes it left hand layup up good
five nothing here early for the chargers can't let him have that much speed going to the basket
i mean nobody gets that in front of him because he's just going to euro step around me and you can't
jump with him Casey george setting up the offense 20 on the shot clock guarded by woodham's kicks
it to the corner to brown back top of the key finds why at v swings it over to simpson
Top of the key, Mitchell Riley.
Back to Simpson, kicks it down low to Brown.
He drives dish down, lay up, no good, rims out, rebound clear by Woodhams.
Chargers here, 1830 to play up, 5-0.
Continues with the zone, top of the key, Beeson.
Woodham's on the right wing, swings it to Ruder.
Duck down, Janowski, fading, mid-range, good.
7-0 early for the Chargers.
Yeah, last time the Chargers did lose this matchup,
but looking good here early, and I really really.
really, really like the zone for the Chargers that looks good.
Playing against the zone is passing is one thing to do very, very, very well.
Casey George, 20 on the shot clock, top of the key, mismatch with Big Rick.
Swings it over to Simpson.
Down low, Riley working on Big Rick on the block.
Turning middle, spinning.
Can't find anything.
Tough take with the left hand up.
Good.
7 to 2 now, Chargers up 5, 1750 to play in this first half.
Big Rick in the corner.
Surveys, finds Woodham's on the right wing.
Top of the key, Janowski, swings it to Beeson on the left wing.
Big Rick in the corner working against what looks to be manned defense now.
Big Rick on the block.
Double come, spins middle, floater up, no good.
Rebound cleared by George.
And great look there for Big Rick just couldn't get it to fall.
One thing he does have is he doesn't have the size management in height, but he does have it in strength.
Definitely stronger than the skinnier Davis.
Simpson on the right wing now, working on Janowski, 15 on the shot clock.
Back down low to Riley again on Big Rick.
Winning travel.
Got him with a walk there.
Big Rick with the tough defense.
He's going to get a quick sub after a great first three minutes.
CJ Yerian in for the Chargers.
Seven to two here.
Thomas Moore switching up their defense early and often.
Back to the zone here as Janowski takes it top key.
25 on the shot clock picks it up at half court surveys, finds Woodhams.
Top of the key back to Janowski drives left, kicks it to Ruter.
Ruter working ISO, spins back middle, kick out Yerian.
More to the corner. Logan Beeson.
Corner three ball.
Good.
Big shot there from Beeson on the dish from Ruter.
Your score 10 to 2 now.
Yeah, absolutely phenomenal shooter, Beeston.
But talk about that pass there from Joe Ruter.
I mean, he had the layup kind of, but it would have been heavily contested
and he found him wide open CJ Yerian.
Kicked another pass out to Beasie.
George working on Woodham's tough defender, spins back middle.
Tough layup up and good for their leading score.
10 to 4 now, Chargers up 6.
Right wing Janowski gets a screen from Yerian.
kicks it to Rooter on the left wing.
Back to Beeson on the right wing, down to the block to Yerian, swinging the ball around.
Woodham's on the right wing.
Looking to work here on Wyatt Vee.
Swing.
That ball, Rupert won't go.
Setting up that offense back to Simpson here.
On Janowski drives baseline, got him with a foul.
Janowski just with a little hand check there, they're going to call it.
Yeah, I think it's a good call right there.
Definitely extended both arms, kind of got around him right there.
Probably actually a good foul,
he was driving to the basket, would have needed that help defense.
In now for Thomas Moore, number 21, Tyler Johnson, the freshman 6'7 from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Doesn't play much, but like we mentioned, off the bench, they've got to find some size to match up with the Chargers.
Baseline, sideline out of bounds, back in to George, working on Woodham's tough left-hand lay-up, off the rim, no good.
Cleared away by Yerian, who finds McWinian transition.
Great pass.
Router to the cup.
reverse layup good 12 to 4 now on the feed for McWinney to Rooter I mean you just switch
guards and all of a sudden the assist just just keep coming doesn't change doesn't really drop
off from Janowski to win in the 20 check in here top of the key George working on
Wudham's once again gets the mismatch with Yerian looking step back midrange up and under
kicks it to the corner he finds Wyatt Veefe Veefe top of the key to Simpson 10 on the
shot clock now it's Riley back to George their lead score tough take can't find
think Simpson's got to take the end of the shot clock three ball won't go out of bounds
Mikey McCollum good to see him back in for the Chargers 12 to 4 here it's going to be a media

Hello and welcome back.
You're listening to Radio Freeieldsdale 101.1.7 FM Charger Basketball.
I'm Gordy.
And I'm Evan.
1522 to play in this first half, 12 to 4.
what are the Chargers doing right on offense to be scoring almost every time down the floor?
I mean, offensively, they're getting matched up against the zone defense, right?
Playing against that 2-3.
And they kind of thrive against that 2-3 because it's good for finding passes, finding quick passes,
and then shooting 3s, and they love to shoot that three ball.
Yeah, very interesting, too, to see that.
It appears that Thomas Moore, depending on the possession,
will switch to a man look every once in a while,
trying to give the Chargers different looks, different offense is required, obviously, for man or zone.
So Chargers done a great job adjusting,
And like we mentioned right before the timeout, Mike's McCollum back after a foot injury.
He's been out for a couple weeks, so good to see him back.
He's been the sixth man, one of the leading scores for the Chargers.
Inbound goes to McWenny here.
Chargers up 12 to 4, as we mentioned.
Woodham's on the left wing.
Trying to find someone in the zone, finds McWinney in the corner.
Drives middle, working on Veeth here.
Joe Ruter on the right wing finds McCollum.
Coming off the screen, Woodham, drives to the right physical take on Simpson.
Up and good.
I mean, just a phenomenal take.
Usually you try to get it at the high point and make that layup,
but he didn't have anything in coming back down and just kind of toss it up
and hit that perfect corner of the backboard and fell in.
George on the right wing, 20 on the shot clock, working on Woodhams.
As he has been all night, Riley down low on Yerian on the block.
Trying to get an easy layup here, working them.
Spinning, baseline, tough layup, no good, rebound bounced around, cleared by McWinney.
In transition, here come the Chargers.
McWinney, great pass to Yerian.
layup no good.
Got to make those ones right there.
Simpson back the other way here.
In transition, scanning.
Can't find anything.
Finds George working right here.
Screen from Riley, drives middle on Woodham's.
Spins back.
Can't find anything.
Still working, has to kick it out to Riley and Simpson back up top to reset.
Ten on the shot clock now.
Simpson on McWinney.
Triple size up, dry.
Step back.
Can't find anything.
Back cut.
Tough layup, foul by Ayerian.
Hi, Simpson early doing a lot for this offense, moving, dribbling, trying to find something.
Physical take there draws a foul on Yerian.
Yeah, the other two layups that they've made so far were heavily, heavily contested.
That was by far their best look.
And even on that one, I mean, you had the back guy, C.J. Yerian trying to block it and he gets the foul.
But he was there.
So that's their best look.
Charters don't need to change anything on defense.
14 to 4 still is the first one's up in no good.
Simpson not happy about it.
Interesting to see the offense is running a lot
through Mitchell Riley.
Only averages 10 a game.
Trying to work that big guy down low
on the Chargers, Yarian, and Big Rick.
Second one is up, the rim, and in.
Checking in for Simpson number 30.
Jack McCune.
One of their leading scores coming off the bench.
Kind of a six-man roll.
14 to 5 here, 14 to play.
McWenny back the other way, working against the zone.
Top of the key, boltie.
now in for the charges.
Finds McCollum on the left wing.
Surveys finds McWinney back on the other wing.
In the high post, Diary, and he surveys, finds Woodhams.
Has a mismatch here.
Top of the key, swings it down low on the block to Yerian,
back up top McCollum.
10 on the shot clock.
Woodams will take the left wing.
Three ball, good.
Nothing but nylon on the shot from Woodham's there.
17-5.
Top of the key. George again,
setting up that offense.
Their leading score.
back to Riley on the wing
dribble handoff there to Veeh
McCune who's in now driving
on McWinney in the post here trying to work
spins back tough defense by McWenny
he's got to throw one up won't go rebound cleared
McWenney
He's still no great looks for Thomas Moran
Back the other way McWinney working here
Erie in on the left wing
21 on the shot clock 17 to 5
Chargers up
McCollum will take the deep three ball
Good! Welcome back Mikey McCollum
20 to 5 time
out Thomas Moore.
Man in his face and he just let it ride.

Hello and welcome back. You're listening to Radio Freehieldsdale 101.7 FM Charger Basketball, 20 to 5 here.
What are the Chargers doing right defensively? Only five points here for Thomas Moore.
I mean, the big man is playing the hedge, not allowing the three-pointer, and then getting back on his man,
They have not found a single post touch to the big man inside the paint.
They've only been the big man on top of the free-thor liner out in the key and try to let him work,
but it has not been working today.
George back the other way here, just under 13 in the first half.
Top the key, finding Riley back to George working on Woodham's.
Corner three ball from Vieth.
It's up and rims out no good.
Tough box out on the floor.
Woodham's ball still free.
McWinney fighting for it.
See the call.
Jump ball.
great effort there by the Chargers
going to stay down
with Thomas Moore on the baseline
out of bounds.
McGuney a little shaking up on the effort.
Janowski will check in for him,
but great effort from the senior.
Yeah, I think that was just one of those things
where both guys kind of got tied up and we're pulling.
And I like the jump ball call there.
99% of the time in basketball,
you see a ref call a foul on one guy or the other,
but it's not justified on either guy.
Glazer in as well for the Chargers.
George topped the key off the inbound.
Veith in the corner drives middle on the column,
He spins back baseline up and under.
Tough take.
Fowl on McCollum.
Try to stand in for a charge almost.
Got him on the body.
Two shots at the line now for Vieth.
I think he did really draw that charge,
but I think he was standing inside the circle,
and that's why he'll draw the foul.
Yeah, very aggressive move by Vieth,
just trying to get to the rim when he can.
Chargers playing tough defense here,
20 to 5.
Viz's first one is up and off the back.
Rattles around no good.
1230 to play in this first.
first half.
A large margin early in the charges.
When they start hot like this, they're one of the most dangerous teams in the GMAC.
Second one up and good for Vieth.
Now 20 to 6.
Janowski back in with Glazer, Boltee, Wudoms and McCollum.
Top of the key McCollum, still in that zone for Thomas Moore.
Right wing Janowski, top of the key McCollum.
Working on Vith at the top of the zone.
Driving baseline, Wudoms, lay up.
22-6 now.
Senior leader Charles Woodham's
finding some early layups here.
One big thing to say about these
Thomas More Saints is that they're a really young team.
A lot of freshmen, a couple juniors and seniors,
but really a lot of freshmen and redshirt freshmen.
Guys who haven't gotten a lot of game action.
And late in this season, it's not like high school.
Your body starts wearing down and things change.
George here, seven on the shot clock,
working on Woodham's tough floating layup.
Good.
That's why he's one of the best in the G-Mack,
two to eight now.
Ginooski back the other way,
finds Bolte, top of the key, swings it to Woodhams.
In the corner to McCollum,
surveying, trying to find something with 20 on the shot clock,
top of the key, Janowski, back to Bolte on the left wing.
Guarded closely by Vieth back to Janowski,
swings at the corner, Woodhams.
He's feeling it early. Corner three ball won't go,
tipped around by Glazer, saved by McCollum.
Wow, what an effort to get that rebound right there by Glazer.
Back the other way, Janowski in the mid-range,
Can't find anything, finds Woodham's top of the key, 13 on the shot clock.
Trying to find the post touch McCollum, heat check, three ball.
Nothing but net Mikey McCallum coming off injury, finds another three ball, 25 to 8 now.
He's feeling it.
I mean, coming off injury, you know, you miss a couple games, and you make that first shot,
and all of a sudden nothing can stop you.
Janowski guarding tightly McCune, top of the key.
Working here, Riley, finds George 10 on the shot clock.
by Glazer on the screen, kicks a defeat down low, Riley. Glazer got him on the file there.
One of the most physical players for the Chargers. It's going to take us to the under 12 timeout.
25 to 8 Chargers up.

Host season looming, you're listening to Radio Free Herald 7 FM Charger Basketball.
25 to 8 here.
Thomas Moore having a hard time finding buckets.
What do they got to do to change things up?
I mean,
the coastal defense is playing really, really, really well.
What you got to do is you got to start setting screens with guys
other than your big man.
Defensively, the charters are very, very prepared for that.
I'll spend something Thomas Moore has done well last time
because it seems like the charters perfectly adjusted
to what they were doing, and they're playing it different.
They're probably a perfect.
A couple of new saints in for Thomas Moore
trying to change things up.
Baseline out of bounds goes into just checked in Jace Shaw and Pouncey.
Top of the Key Simpson back in.
15 on the shot clock guarded tightly by Janowski.
Forces him left screen by Pouncey trying to find something here.
Fines McCune working on McCollum.
Step back mid-range, tough shot.
Rebound cleared away by Big Rick.
Out to Janowski and the charges are in transition.
Janowski, top of the key, Big Rick.
Working on Tyler Johnson on the block, waiting for the double to come at
does great duck down McCollum lay up tough good Mikey McCallum with eight early 278 now he's hot
and I mean out for that one though he is limping a little bit I will say tough finish there see what the
charges do with that injury McKeown here on the right wing 20 on the shot clock now in Ryan
Paris at guard j Sean Pouncey finds Paris swings it over to Simpson 13 on the shot clock
Pouncy top of the key 10 on the shot clock now working on big Rick on the block big Rick
Forcing him baseline, tough layup, won't go, rebound. Pouncy gets a back.
Blocked by Big Rick.
Balls cleared away, tipped around, still loose.
Secured by Paris and the Saints.
Tyler Johnson now on McCollum, download a Pouncey.
Tries to go back on Big Rick again.
Back cut, finds Johnson foul there by Ruter on the tough denial.
Yeah, I mean, if you would have touched the ball over there right there,
it would have been very clean.
Unfortunately, he just whiffed on it and got him with the bottom.
Interesting strategy for Thomas Moore.
They have some very talented guards, but it has been the postplay that they are trying to go to.
Freshman Jay Sean Pounce at getting his opportunity now with the size disadvantage around Big Rick.
I mean, especially surprising because of how big Hillsville is.
Baseline out of bounds, shot there by McCune.
Skies off the backboard.
Now the Chargers are in transition.
Tough take by Woodhams.
No good.
Wanted to foul the refs or letting him play here.
I mean, McCune lucky that he didn't make that one.
Otherwise, he might have been sitting on the bench for the next 10 minutes.
That was a horrible shot.
Pouncey now back to the other way, 27 to 8, 9 to play.
Triple handoff to Simpson trying to get the offense going.
Spins back balls tipped around stolen by Woodhams,
and he's going to calm the offense down.
Trying to find something here.
Back to Mann now for the Saints.
On the right wing, Janowski drives middle,
kicks it to Router, kickout.
Rhythm shot for Big Rick from the three ball.
Won't go, rebound cleared by McCune.
Yeah, they love those big man threes for sure.
McCune on the left wing, 27 to 8 still.
The teams can't find a bucket here recently.
Simpson at the top of the key.
finds a Pouncey on the left wing.
Back cut by McCune.
Great denial by Woodham's and he steals it to Rooter.
Routers got the breakaway.
Tough take on Pouncey's fouled.
Layup doesn't go, but he'll get two shots at the line.
Yeah, I mean, you're up 27-8 right here,
and you're just dominating.
Got to extend the lead while you're playing this well.
Chargers, as we mentioned,
Mikey McCollum goes to the bench after that awkward layup,
and he has eight points,
the same as Thomas Moore's whole team coming off injury.
You'll love to see it as a charger fan.
And Routers' first one's up and no good.
Star Guard George back in along with Mitchell Riley.
Casey George, the senior guard from Pinkerton, Ohio.
Pinkerton North High School, average in 15th game.
As we mentioned, he's been a great score in addition to our league.
Ruder's second one is up and pure.
28 to 8 now, 20-point lead.
The largest of the afternoon.
Chargers going through full court pressure they back off
Simpson and George the two guards with Tyler Johnson
Ryan Paris
in for Thomas Moore top of the key George driving right
finds George top of the key swings it to the left to Paris
Johnson working on rotor back to George 10 on the shot clock now
got to go George ISO drives to the middle
tough pull up mid range good
28 to 10 now.
McWenney brings it back down for the chargers.
Cut Woodham's going over the screen there.
Got a nice open jump.
Top of the key, Woodham swings it to McWenny left wing.
18 on the shot clock chargers setting up that offense.
McWinney surveys, finds Rooter on the left wing.
Driving, step back, tough three ball, Rooter.
Won't go off the rim, rebound,
skied and cleared away by Mitchell Riley.
George, trying to look for a couple buckets here in a row in transition.
Spins baseline. Tuss. Woodham's defense, tips it around, off Woodham's. Saints will retain possession
with the baseline. It's going to take us to a timeout here. 28 to 10, Chargers up here at home.

Hello and welcome back. You were listening to Radio Freehieldsdale 101.7 FM Charger basketball,
28 to 10 here and a great local crowd here on a Thursday night before the postseason starts up.
Obviously, students out studying, I'm sure, a lot of exams this week, but great to see the Hillsdale faithful showing their team support.
And I'm sure they're loving this 28 to 10 lead.
Like you said, not a lot of students, but a lot of people from the town, a lot of parents.
This is the last game that the Chargers will play at home, that we know for sure.
Of course, if they win this one and win this weekend, they should be hosting another game here on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
But if they lose here tonight or if something wonky happens, they will not be playing another game.
It'll be the senior's last game at dawn to its Potter Arena.
Yeah, senior night a couple Saturdays ago was an exciting one.
Northwood, a big blowout victory.
and the Chargers seem to be really finding their stride with these home games.
They win a lot of games here at home.
Great fans and they're off to a great start.
20 to 10.
Baseline out of bounds.
George didn't rebound it.
Skies over top to Simpson, swings it to Riley on the left wing.
19 on the shot clock.
George working in the mid-range on Woodham's again.
Driving baseline, physical defense, trapped by Eerian.
Can't find anything.
Back to the basket, nine seconds now.
Working tough, left-handed layup.
Good.
Great finish by George, 28.
to 12 now.
I mean, but still not a great look for the team overall.
It was a phenomenal finish and a great basket,
but can't be shooting those tough shots all day.
Woodham's fines, Mc20 on the shot clock on the right wing.
Working on Johnson, down low.
Woodham's tough finish and won.
The bucket and the foul.
Senior guard, Charles Woodham's,
a big physical guard.
I mean, he gets that size advantage down low.
He's not afraid to go up with it.
Yeah, he is seemingly very quiet on the court,
But he is the leading scorer on average for the Chargers.
Very interesting, too.
As we always mention, the Chargers, two of their leading scores,
Joe Ruter and Charles Woodham's.
You will see them guarding the best players as well.
So great defensive players.
The bucket and the foul.
First shot up, or the bonus shot up in no good.
30 to 12 now.
Chargers expanding that lead with 6.45 to play.
George taking his time, surveying.
Trying to find something here in the corner.
Woodham's still on him tightly.
Finds Paris.
Working on Beeson back in for the Chargers.
Riley, top of the key on Yerian drives to the right.
Gets Yerian to jump.
Tough take foul on Yerian.
Two shots here coming up for Mitchell Riley,
the junior forward 6'8 from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.
Transfer from Miami University.
Big transfer there.
A couple of redshirt freshmen.
I wonder how many of those guys are transfers from big Division I colleges.
Yeah, it's definitely interesting.
Thomas Moore, as we mentioned, we play them in football now.
They're in the G-MAC and they're a school that was NAA,
but has really made a tough jump in football and basketball.
Been a great team in the conference.
So interesting to see how they'll grow as they start to get more D2 recruits.
First one is up in no good for Riley.
Still 30 to 12 here.
His second shot is up in pure.
30 to 13 now.
Chargers trying to keep that lead before the half, 630.
McWinney working in that zone in the mid-range.
Finds Woodham's on the left wing.
He's been fantastic early for the Chargers.
Right wing, Yerian, downscreen, finds McWinney, guarded tightly by George.
He drives baseline.
Tough take, off the glass won't go.
Rebound, secured away by McWenny.
Second chance here.
Beeson deep, three ball.
Off the rim won't go.
Rebound skied away there by Wyatt Veeth.
30 to 13 still.
Veith coming back in transition, Fine Simpson.
Top of the key, Riley, driving on Yerian again.
Trying to work that mismatch here.
Tough take, and he's fouled again.
Mitchell Riley getting to the line once again, and he's been a pivotal part for this offense.
Very physical, drawn a lot of fouls.
Yeah, really early here, the Hillsville is also in the, or sorry, excuse me, Thomas Moore is in the bonus.
Hillsville has seven fouls, and that's Joe Rutter's second.
So I'm going to watch out for maybe later on in the game, but definitely probably going to take him out here.
First one is up and good for Riley.
One of their best players, as we mentioned, 10 points a game, but it seems like they're kind of feeding the offense through him.
He shoots free throws at about a 61% so second shot on the way.
30 to 14 here.
Game slowing down quite a bit here.
See if the Saints can find a way back in this game.
Second one's up and good.
30 to 15 now.
Lead, only 15 for the Chargers.
It once was 20.
He was still playing really well on defense still.
Just got to step it up offensively, I think.
Woodham's on the left wing, finds McCollum back in for the Chargers.
Top of the Key, Janowski, 18 on the shot clock.
back to man for Thomas Moore. McCollum.
He'll take the deep three. He's feeling it.
Won't go. Rebound. Tipped around, cleared by George.
Slowing it down. Thomas Moore, they love to take the pace down, take it out of the game.
They're out of the basketball. Top of the key, Simpson.
Down screen, finds feet. Down to the post again to Riley. Glazer back in the garden.
Tough drive. Physical, drive into the middle. Tough right-hand layup. Good.
Mitchell Riley taking over in this game. 30 to 17 now. Top of the key, Reuter.
need a bucket to stop the bleeding.
22 on the shot clock, 5 to play in this first half.
13 point lead for the Chargers.
Woodham's on the right wing, guarded by George.
Man, defense here from the Saints.
McCollum.
Working on Simpson, swings it to Glazer.
10 on the shot clock.
Screen from Glazer.
Working downhill.
Woodham's on Johnson.
Finds Glazer down low and a reach-round foul there by Veefe.
Yeah, probably really, really fortunate foul there for the Chargers.
As Glazer only had four seconds left on the shot clock,
second was facing away from the basket.
Tough there.
Chargers have to find a way to get a stop.
Mitchell Riley's done a great job.
Top of the key, McCollum, swings it to Janowski.
Shot clock reset, so there's 15 on it now.
Woodham's with the baseline drive, guarded by Johnson.
Back to Janowski, top of the key, McCollum,
nine on the shot clock.
Tough three ball.
McCollum, good.
Mikey McCollum.
33, 17 now.
Chargers needed it and they got it from Mikey McCollum
George on the left wing back the other way here now
Riley top of the key working on Glazer he's going to go to the post
he's been working balls tipped stolen by Ruter
in transition Ruter on Simpson Euro step and he's filed
hits the deck hard tried to get around him got clipped on his way to the cup
yeah I mean Thomas Bore changed up a little bit defensively
the last couple drives drives they're going to call it possession
been starting in that two three defense and then they have some kind of word i haven't heard what the word is
but they have a word and they immediately switch to man and getting on their closest man
yeah they kind of kind of a match-up zone if you will first one for ruders up and no good
33 17 here four to play in this first half thomas more slowly keeping their way in the game
due to Mitchell riley going at the post players he's been guarded by all three here early glazer
with the opportunity to stop him now rudder one of the best free
throw shooters second one is up and no good rebound tipped around cleared by george for the saints
he's had a lot of drives and some good baskets uh has not shot the ball particularly well to
that night george on woodham's on the right wing screen from riley kicks it over to vith riley again on
glazer can't find anything to post dribble handoff to vith back to vith he's driving on glazer
riley no one on him has to kick it out to george seven on the sock shot clock right wing jab step
In the middle, drives to the left, tipped around, has to get a shot up camp stolen by Woodham's.
Wanted a foul doesn't get one on the recovery of the steel.
3.30 to play, 3317.
Right wing Janowski, tough pull-up blocked, rebound by Glazer off the block.
Tough floater from Glazer's good.
3517.
That right there is where you can get shot in the zone.
If you try to dribble one too many times, take the shot, you get blocked.
A phenomenal play there by Glazer.
or get the rebound and put the basket back up.
Defense chance raining out here.
35, 17, 3 to play.
George set up the offense, finds Johnson, Paris,
trying to find something,
kicks into the corner to Veith,
trying to get that post-touch downloaded.
Johnson, he'll get a chance here on Rooter.
He's got two, he's got to be careful.
Hands straight up, good defense has to kick it out to Veith.
Drives, baseline, kicks it back to Johnson.
One dribble, pull up mid-range.
Shot clock rains out, no good.
Riley with a rebound, driving.
And a foul.
Chargers wanted a shot clock violation before we got the shot up they don't two shots now for Riley
so that's going to take us to a media timeout listening to radio for Eelsdale 101.7 FM Charger basketball
I'm Gordy and I'm Evan this is the making of America from the Jefferson Media Group in 1620 the
Mayflower dropped anchor at a place called Plymouth Rock where its passengers founded one of the earliest
successful English colonies in North America and the first first
permanent colony in all of New England.
Originally named New Plymouth, that settlement today is the modern town of Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Unlike the entrepreneurs who founded Jamestown and other settlements, the citizens of Plymouth
had fled religious persecution and sought only a land where they could practice their faith
openly and without fear of reprisals.
However, the pilgrims, as they were known, are probably best remembered for their celebration of the holiday
we know as Thanksgiving.
This has been the Making of America.
I'm Michael Emerson,
and you can visit us at jeffersonmediagroup.com.
Hello, and welcome back.
You are listening to Radio for Eelzo.
101.7 FM Charger Basketball 3517, 248 to play in the first half.
Mitchell Riley, with a chance for two at the line.
What's Thomas Morbin doing to chip away at this lead?
Well, I've been getting in that two-three zone,
especially to that man,
and it's worked very well defensively.
offensively they're you know they're taking hard shots they've gotten a couple of better looks but
offensively they still haven't been able to get it going defensively where they've been better
now hills are to counteract that has to get changed on their offense right they get set up in one
offense either zone or man and then when thomas more switch i think they're switching too late
they just switch right away that'll help them beat this Mitchell riley with two shots first foul
on woodham's eight fouls for the chargers a lot of opportunities at the line Riley converts with the
first one. It's been a great game here early at Don Tibbitts Potter Arena. Fans hoping for another
game here next Tuesday, as we mentioned. Second shot up and good. Riley converts with both 35-19 now.
Ginooski bringing the ball up. Chargers need a score here, as we mentioned. Offensive is struggling
and back to the zone for Thomas Moore. Left wing, Woodhams. Fines Janowski in the corner,
swings it from the column, back up top to Janowski.
He looks to attack.
McCollum, working on Riley.
Mismatch down low, trying to find Glazer they do.
He's got the mismatch on George.
Spins baseline, tough take, and he's fouled.
Physical play, Glazer, like we said,
one of the most physical players for the Chargers.
Tass with guarding Riley on the other end.
Gets the mismatch.
George is going to get his first two shots for Glazer.
I mean, the height is advantage.
It was very big.
Very, very big.
Surprise even got up there to get the ball,
almost kind of a clean block but he came down too hard and hit him in the face first one's up and no good for glazer
3519 free throws becoming a storyline early in this game due to the amount of fouls yeah and chargers are missing a lot of them
Chargers historically pretty good free throw shooting teams second one rims in 3619 now 230 to play
george guarded by woodham's it's been a fun matcher between those two early riley top of the key
Borkin, dribble handoff to George, 20 on the shot clock.
Town dribble, fine.
Paris coming off the screen, tough shot.
Fading, three balls good, 36, 22 now.
Real tough shot.
Coming off a double screen, too.
I think he got a little bit of the moving screen.
Look for that forward or to be called later in the game.
Woodham's on the left wing, trying to see if he can respond.
McCollum, swings it up top.
Janowski, guarded by nobody, attacks the close-out, tough take with the right hand.
Won't go Glazer, tips it out, won't get it out.
Great pass ahead by George.
to Simpson. He'll lay it up.
36.24 now.
Coach Kevin Bradley, seen enough. He's going to call it timeout here.
You're listening to Radio Breelsdale at 101.7 FM.
Charger basketball. I'm Gordy.
I'm not having.
Welcome to the old ball game, where we talk about the past of America's favorite pastime.
I'm Tate Christensen.
Today we talk about baseball's first appearance on the radio.
The first radio broadcast of a major league baseball game took place on August 5th, 1921 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
where the Pittsburgh Pirates took on the Philadelphia Phillies at home at Forbes Field.
Harold Arlen, a local radio personality, give a play-by-play of the game via the Pittsburgh radio station KDKA.
He sat in a ground-level box seat using a converted telephone as a microphone and less than ideal equipment to get the game on the airways.
In the end, the Pirates beat the Phillies 8 to 5, but the game had more impact on baseball as a whole,
as radio made baseball more accessible to the American people.
More people began to follow the sport, and it took a deeper hold in American culture.
Baseball on the radio grew quickly, and by the late 1930s, almost every MLB team was broadcasting each game,
although in most scenarios, broadcasters would work remotely and react to each game via telegram.
This has been the old ball game on Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM.
Hello and welcome back. You listen to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM Charger Basketball 36, 24 now, 12-point lead.
Thomas Morris cut into it. Quick timeout for Kevin Bradley, coach of the Chargers,
and the Chargers back the other way with 130.
Winnie down low, finds Ruter.
Column on the wing.
Man defense once again from the Saints.
Big Rick on the left wing, surveying, trying to find something.
Guarded closely by Riley.
10 on the shot clock finds Woodhams coming off a downscreen.
McGuney.
Seven on the shot clock.
Woodham's to Ruter heel attack.
Tough drive.
Good, duck down to Ruter and a block.
Ruff points exactly to the circle which he was in.
The restricted area as Ruder skied for the past.
load of Big Rick.
Great job by Thomas Morris stand in there, but he's in the circle.
Yeah, ball's going to be on the baseline as he was passing the ball, not shooting it.
So this foul number six for Thomas Morris.
The next foul, those still will be in the bonus.
Baseline out of balance McCollums will do the honors.
36, 24, just over a minute to play.
Inbound goes deep to McWenney.
Gets the screen from Big Rick.
Working on Paris drives.
Can't find anything.
Finds Rooder.
Looking to attack.
Finds McCollum.
Tough three ball McCollum again.
Mikey McCollum shooting the lights out 39-24 now.
It's huge to have him back.
I mean, him and Beeson have been the two three-point shooters for the Chargers.
And now that he's back, he wants him more than ever, and he's hot.
George Beck the other way, just under a minute.
Paris, another fading three-ball.
He'll respond.
Rise up, 39-27 now, his second of the night.
42 on the shot-clock.
Chargers have an opportunity to go two-for-one here.
McQuigney in the mid-range.
Finds McCollum.
He's feeling it early.
Guarded closely by George, back out to McWinney.
15 on the shot clock.
Woodham's download a big Rick.
Doubled on the catch.
Back out, McWinney, deep three ball.
The sharpshooter won't go.
Rebound cleared by Simpson.
Shot clocks off for Thomas Moore,
and they're going to take the last shot here.
Reset the offense with Simpson.
Look for Paris.
Cover him closed.
Don't let him get that three-point shot off at the end.
39, 27, 10 seconds to go in this first half.
Paris, top of the key.
Fines.
McCune, back to McCune. He'll take the deep three with four on the shot clock.
Won't go. Rebound Paris and he's fouled.
Chargers don't like it. Two guys going for the rebound.
We got Woodhams. I think that's going to be his second.
Killer shot there by McCune when they had only four on the shot clock, kind of a contested three ball.
But they get the offense a rebound in Paris.
Ryan Paris has been a spark for them. It's going to get two at the line here.
Yeah, I don't really love that call. I mean, both guys going for the rebound.
And he didn't seem to get any contact on the body.
the ball straight out of bounds, so it doesn't quite make any sense to me.
Ryan Paris, the 6-5 junior guard from Hillard, Ohio.
Two seconds on the shot, or on the game clock, sorry, before the first half.
His first one's up and good.
39 to 28 now with a chance to make it a 10-point game when
Chargers had a 20-point lead at one point in this half.
Junior who's been shooting it, had a great clip early, up and good.
Just a couple seconds here as it's 39-29.
Chargers running their best play.
They get an end to McWinney.
He's going to have to launch.
Gets it off before the buzzer.
Off the rim won't go.
Great attempt there.
39, 29, here at the half.
You're listening to Radio Freezers at 101.7 FM Charger basketball.

Espinoza made a daring one-man assault, destroying a machine.
Hello and welcome back.
You're listening to Radio Freeles, though, 101.7 FM Charger basketball.
I'm Gordy.
And I'm Evan.
39, 29 here, about to start the second half.
A lot of implications in this game for both teams headed into the postseason.
Great comeback from Thomas Moore.
Switch and ends chargers will imbound at Joe Router to do it for us.
It just got cold up here.
feels like we're outside
nice nice chills but nice night here
Thursday night underway here at Don Tibbitts for the second half
Woodham's on the left wing
surveys finds Beeson
still in a zone switching into man
left corner Janowski drives middle
kicks it out Beeson drives baseline on the closeout
tough take balls tipped around
Coach Kevin Bradley wanted a foul doesn't get one back the other way
here comes Simpson
39 29 here just starting off in the second half for this G-MEC battle here Don Tittitz
Harris starting the second half tough three ball won't go gets the start in the second
half ever his first half had a couple of those good ones in the first half not able to get
that one alive big Rick on the right wing 22 on the shot clock in the corner to
Wittams finds Jinnowsky driving kicks it back out to Wudham's down to 15 on the
shot clock now what him serving trying to find Ruder can't dribble handoff
Bison. He'll take the tough three ball Bison off the front of the rim. No good. Rebound cleared away
there by Riley. George coming back the other way. No scoring here in this second half. Thomas Moore
slowing it down as they have all game. Top of the key. Woodham's George, great match up here.
Gets the screen from Riley, drives to the left, spins out, kick out to Tyler Johnson.
Download O'Reilly working on Big Rick. Dribble hand off to George. Step back, drive, tough layup,
Floating, won't go, hangs on the rim.
Rebound there by Beeson Janowski.
Back the other way for the Chargers.
Woodham's on the left wing, swings it to Beeson.
In the corner to Rooter.
It's been quiet offensively for the Chargers.
Looking to go ISO here, drives baseline,
tough take, floating layup.
Gets the foul, hopefully not injured there.
Kind of an awkward landing.
He's going to get two shots.
It seems to be okay.
Unfortunately to hear for the Chargers,
I mean, C.J. Yerian right now is wearing something around his back.
I don't know if it's a previous injury or if that's from tonight.
You saw McQuinnie go down kind of weird earlier and McComb's been limping.
I mean, just kind of some, a lot of minor injuries here for targets.
Called it on the floor, baseline inbound goes back to Janowski.
He gets it on the left wing.
15 on the shot clock.
Big Rick working on Simpson.
Swing past, the Beeson drives baseline on Riley.
Step back mid-range.
Tough shot won't go, rebound, cleared by George.
He never loved the step-back mid-ranges when they're that covered.
because they're low percentage shot and they're not that high reward.
Simpson driving there on Janowski.
Tough take and he's fouled.
Wanted the bucket in the foul.
Can't convert.
No scoring in this second half after a pretty high scoring first half.
So Thomas Moore, team that averages around 70, held in check in the first half,
trying to get the scoring opening up here.
39, 29, 29.
Leight 10 point game, Simpson with a chance to make it less.
First one off the front of the rim and good.
39.30.
now. Yeah, there's been a lot of good looks just haven't been able to finish. I mean, no wide open
layup misses, but there's unfortunate and not great shooting by either team here. Simpson, able to
find the second one as well, 39, 31, one of the smallest margins since we kicked off this game.
1753 to play and the rest of this one. Rooder top of the key, swings it to Beeson, back to Woodham,
swings it, Ruter drives attacking Riley in the mid-range. Tough floater won't go. Big Rick
hustling for the rebound.
Harris got that mismatch in that matchup zone had to box out big Rick and had to
follow him to not give up the O board yeah jumped up and and tried to cut him off underneath
him just can't do that yeah definitely a risky play with the hook and hold stuff like that
for flagrant fouls not going to be one here baseline out of bounds Woodham surveys
can't find anything finds a cutting Rutter great pass under the basket layup good
41 31 now lead back up to 10 yeah and although it has been Reuter's best to shoot
I think on the layups, maybe his one free throw.
I think he does have about seven.
Good sign for the Chargers.
CJ Yerrian checking in.
Back the other way here comes Thomas Moore.
Kickout to the corner to Tyler Johnson, 18 on the shot clock.
Driving baseline on Rory cuts him off.
Has to work back towards the middle.
Finds Riley in the mid-range.
He'll drive.
Trying to find something here working on Big Rick.
Eight on the shot clock.
It has to go on the left block.
Serving, tough floater, won't find anything.
Rebound Janowski.
Yeah, he wanted a foul there,
but I think the elbow hit the head of his own guy.
Swings it back the other way, Rooter, finding down low.
Big Rick going to work here on Riley.
Expect a double.
Riley trying to get a cheap reach-round steel there.
Common in rec basketball, but going to get a foul on the lazy defense.
And in rec basketball, you never call those.
It seems too soft.
Yeah, yeah, you never call that reach-round steel.
But Carson Brown checking back in, who started this game, hasn't played since the beginning.
their tallest player at 6-9.
Three early files for Thomas Moore.
I'm going to check out Mitchell Riley.
Base line inbound goes to Ruter, back up top to Janowski, right-wing Woodh.
15 on the shot clock.
He drives on Paris.
Tough move, finds Beeson back to...
Back to him at the top of the key spinning.
Trying to find something tough layup.
Woodham's with the left hand.
Good.
43-31 now.
Now I'm going to move and just little...
Go underneath him and hit the hook.
Simpson working on Janowski, top of the key brown, back in Paris.
Driving has a clear lane to the cup.
Yarian sends it back, doesn't jump.
Stays patient, and now Janowski with numbers.
Back to Beeson, he'll drive.
Great duckdown.
Yarian won't go, gets his own rebound, lay up no good, gets it again.
Won't go again.
Balls tipped around, cleared by George.
Trying to get the Angel Rees stat line right there.
Driving, Simpson, tough, floater off the glass, won't go.
Don't know what the call is.
I think it's away from the basket there.
We're gonna get Georgia on his own rebound.
That's gonna be his second.
43-31 now.
C.G. Arian with a great defensive play,
just couldn't get the layup to fall.
Just wanted those rebounds, you know.
We're going for the double double today.
Couldn't find the layup.
Good to see him back in though.
McCallum also back in for the Chargers.
43-31-16 to play.
And this one, Woodham's on the left wing,
finds McCollum, downloadeererian,
size advantage on McCure.
See what he can find here.
Can't find anything picks up his dribble.
Backcut, Rooner.
Down low on the smaller George working, throws the ball up, and he's fouled.
That's a tough one where you are just surrounded by people.
You try to get a shout up and hope for a foul.
He gets one.
It's going to take us to our first media timeout.
43-31.

Welcome to the Grammar Minute, where we're saving the English language 60 seconds at a time.
I'm Lauren Smith, which is to say I'm Hadrian and Mittens's Cat Mom.
And that brings me to our theme for today.
Should there be an apostrophe S on Hadrian or Mittens or both?
It depends on whether the owners are joint owners of the same thing, or if they each have their own.
In the example above, Mittens and Hadrian are both my cats, so I am Hadrian and Mittens' cat mom.
The apostrophe S should only go after Mittens' name.
If, however, we were talking about their toys, then both names would require an apostrophe
S since each of them has their own toys.
In short, if they're sharing, they share an apostrophe too.

You're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.
101.1.7 FM Charger, Basketball 431.
What has turned into quite an exciting G-MAC finish to the season here at Don Tibbitts.
Thomas Moore hanging around.
Yeah, Thomas Moore, I mean, coming back from that 28 to 5 lead in the first half, 4331 is our current score.
Neither one of these teams, to be honest, have been second half teams.
Both teams have a positive second half ratio overall, but a lot closer in the second half than that had been in the first half.
First half dominant.
Yeah, fouls in the favorite toward the chargers here in this second half.
Five for Thomas Moore, just one for the Chargers.
Rooters first free throw up and no good struggling at the line here but see if you can find
the second one extend that lead it's been quite an exciting game here and hats off to coach
Justin Ray for Thomas Moore as the second one's no good for Rooter but he gets his own rebound
he'll reset it here with 18 great duck in two whatums with the reverse lay made up for the missed
free throws 45 31 yeah and I mean free throws at some point might be a bit of a storyline if he'll still
starts to fall under in this one. They have not shot well from the line where Thomas Moore really has.
McCure in the low post working on Router trying to get a foul call of his own just shovels one at the
rim can't find it. Great rebound by Woodhams. One of the best rebounders at guard.
McWinney back the other way finds Ruter looking to attack here. Ducks it down low to the area and still
in for the chargers. Back cut again by Ruter hit on the face but they don't call the foul.
Says he got it clean. Turnover back the other way to George working on McWinney tough drive to
left. Kickout. Corner three.
ball for brown the center won't go
great box out by a column and they
have to call the foul there on beef
go over the back literally got on top of him
and used this momentum to push him up can't do that and I'm
surprised to see such a quick
release from the big man
yeah real low wasn't expecting to shoot that one
hasn't played a lot for them is their size
and again another opportunity for a player
here the red shirt freshman zionion crow
checking in from springfield
Ohio Shawnee High School.
First time he's seen it.
And like we said,
hats off to coach Justin Ray,
who has switched up the lineups,
kept them in it.
45, 31 here now,
just under 15 to play.
McWenny back to the other way
for the Chargers,
swings it over to Bulte.
Surveys, finds in the corner,
Yerian, top of the Key Wudoms.
He's been a star player
for the Chargers in this one.
Gets the screen from Yerian,
driving, working on Brown,
has to back it out,
finds McWinney on the right wing.
Guarded tightly by George,
eight on the shot clock.
Wudoms with a mismatch.
take hangs in the air right hand layup good phenomenal finish around the rim suspended in the air and
finished it 4731 now another great night here for the senior and what could be his last done to this
swings it over to mccure number 30 here one of their league scores hasn't found much early george driving
on woodham's tough right hand layup gets the foul there thomas more strategy is get to the rim
and expect them to call it which kevin bradley doesn't like it and that's the third
on Woodham's who he just mentioned is having a great night.
Might have to take a seat.
Yeah, unfortunate there to get that third foul early,
especially from a guy who you know is one of your leaders.
Probably going to look to stub them out here pretty soon,
if not right now, in these free throws.
Two shots for George, who, one of the guys we mentioned
at the top of the hour, leading score,
one of the best in the G-Mack.
He's found a way to keep him in it.
Brown's going to sub out here.
Back in is their other leading player tonight, Mitchell Riley.
Those two have kept them in it, 47-32 now.
6-9 forward actually has shot 33s this season.
We were wrong in the quick trigger.
He's got the ability.
Couldn't find that one.
Two shots good for George.
A little press here trying to speed up the chargers down with 14 to play.
47-33 now.
They trap McQuinnia and half court he finds boltie.
He'll dribble it up and they get into the offense.
To be fair, on those 33s, he has only made six more.
A little stat check there.
Mortum's down low.
Size advantage, great kickout McCollum on the wing drives,
baseline tough take what a finish Mikey McCollum the welcome back party is great for him
49 33 now tough player playing through an injury and playing great top of the key
mccure down low finds Riley on the area and back cut there can't find a mccure he'll take the
heavily contested three ball and find it wow I mean that's just the kind of shots that you can't
defend any better and they just happen to make it great shot there 13 point league
for the Chargers 49-36.
McWenney swings it to McCollum.
He'll survey on George, finds Boltey in the corner.
Working now on Zion Crow, swings it back to McWenny.
He finds Woodhams, who's got McKeure on him.
Down low, seven on the shot clock.
Yarian, working on Riley.
Tough move with the left hand won't go, rebound.
Cleared away by Riley, back to Vieth,
and then George will set up the offense.
A really good look there for Yerian.
A little underhand roll, and it just rolls out of the basket.
George with the picking roll. Finds McCure.
Heat check after making the other one.
Can't find it.
Tough rebound.
Yarian secures it.
Heat check there for Thomas Moore.
49-36.
Yarian.
Nobody stops ball, kicks it to McCollum,
tipped, and off McCure.
McCollum says he didn't touch it, and he didn't.
Caleb Glazer checking in.
He's been a great defender.
Him and Riley have been going at it.
Two physical players.
Got called for a couple, but great bench piece for the Chargers.
Sideline out of bounds.
Fulte finds McWinney.
Glazer's been the only one able to draw any fouls on it.
Swings it over to Glazer, as we mentioned on the right wing,
trying to set up that offense.
McCollum cuts through, guarded by Zion Crow.
ISO, great move by McCollum to the middle of the floor,
step back mid-range.
You can tell he's feeling it.
Back of the rim, barely touched any net.
51-36 now.
It's a phenomenal night overall from Mikey McCollum.
George finds Riley, a dribble handoff to Crow.
He drives middle on McWinney,
has to dish it out to McIore.
to George.
Triple handoff offense.
Tough pull-up, mid-range, George.
Good.
Big response there, 51, 38 now.
Trying to keep in it with 12 to play.
McWenny's got it, taking his time for the Chargers.
Swings it over.
The Woodham's in the corner.
McCollum.
Heat check three ball.
Defender in his face won't go.
Rebound, boltie.
Great offensive rebound.
Shot clock resets 15 on it now.
Top of the key.
Woodham spins.
Tough.
Layup, won't go.
Rebound.
Glazer in another chance.
Blazer tries to punch it.
home misses the dunk off the rebound 51-38 i mean you head the basket wide open and what's the best way to
get it in is it is an easy dunk and and just misses it i mean hits the back of the rim so hard and it rolls
out george on boltie spins tough fading mid-range won't go rebound woodhams chargers will take their

eight on the shot clock now have to find
something Glazer working on Riley
and a foul there on Riley two hands
shoved to the back of Glazer and he's frustrated
about it. Like I said earlier
Glazer spent the one who's able to draw fouls
on him. He's the only guy who's not
completely bigger than Riley even so I think the reps are giving
Riley a little bit less to play with
or with those bigger guys are making to get away
with that two hand shove. It's going to take us
to our second media timeout.

Welcome to the old ball game,
where we talk about the past of America's favorite pastime.
I'm Tate Christensen.
Professional sports teams trade players all the time,
and usually the trade is player for player,
but there have historically been some strange trades between baseball teams.
One of these trades happened in 1930 with Johnny Jones.
Johnny Jones was a shortstop for the Chattanooga Lookouts.
He was having a bad year.
His batting average was suffer
and the local press was taunting him relentlessly.
Noticing this, his manager,
former major leaguer Joe Engel,
traded Jones to the Charlotte Hornets
for a live 25-pound turkey,
who, as Engel said,
was having a better year.
Engel ended up cooking the turkey
for a Southern Baseball Writers' Association dinner.
But the meat was reportedly tough and dry.
Unfortunately, it was not
a winner-winner turkey dinner for Engel
in the Lookouts.
This has been the old ball game
on Radio Free Hillsdale,
101.7 FM.
And welcome back. You're listening to Radio for Eelsdale 101.7 FM Charger Basketball, 51-38.
Talk about the night that Mikey McCollum is having.
I mean, 18 points averaging a point per minute, which is just absolutely incredible in college basketball.
On 7 for 9 shooting, extremely efficient, four for six from the three-point range.
And he just missed one of his first or his second shot of the day.
About a minute ago, but he has been hot in every way.
And coming off that ankle injury, it's been huge.
Glazer gets the one-in-one on the foul there by Riley.
His first one is up and good.
Gets the bonus here, 52-38.
As we mentioned, Mikey McCollum,
six-man averages 12 points a game coming off injury
and just lighting it up tonight at an efficient clip.
The good thing for the Chargers is that foul on Riley,
that was his third foul.
Could be big moving forward.
Blazer.
Second one is up in nothing but net.
53-38 now.
Chargers maintaining that lead.
Huge for the chargers. They're now four for 11 on free throws instead of two for nine.
Pro working on boltie spins back middle.
Great defense by Router.
Helpside has to close out on a McHour and a foul.
Router's frustrated.
Just a little out of control on the closeout.
McHour shows you're not afraid to shoot it.
Third file there on Router.
Yeah, I mean three fouls with Ruter and Wudham's here.
53, 38, just under 11 to play.
George on the left wing off the imbound.
one off the screen. Zion Crow
working on Boltey again. Screen there.
Back into the game, J. Sean Pounton.
Simpson, driving. Tough take.
And a foul there.
On Janowski, two shots
upcoming for Simpson. And it almost appears
like when Thomas Moore goes to the rim, they're looking for the
foul and not the bucket. Yeah, it's very, very
soft calls, I think.
I mean, Schnavsky was running with him, stride
for stride, and I think he kind of got out of
ahead of him, and he almost pushed off.
And the foul call just doesn't make any sense
to me there.
Simpson's first one's up and good.
53, 39 now.
And yeah, a lot of these takes that Thomas Moore,
where they're going at the rim looking for the foul.
They weren't called in the first half.
Ref switch ends.
You see a couple more now.
So interesting to see that going forward.
Simpson up and good again.
Great free throw shooting from Thomas Moore.
53, 40, and they come out in a press year off the make.
Three players have three fouls here for Hillsdale early.
Both Ashton Janowski, Joe Ruder, and Charles Williams,
all starters have three fouls.
Chargers able to break the press.
Thomas Moore dropped back into that zone.
Routers on the right wing in the low post to Janowski in the mid-range.
That's his shot.
Won't go. Glazer. Skies for the rebound.
Kick out to McCollum.
He drives baseline.
Tough take with the right hand.
Good.
Mikey McCollum having a special night here.
55-40.
Yeah, that's 20 for him tonight.
Absolutely phenomenal coming off that injury.
Still limping a little bit.
Top of the Key, Simpson, 20 on the shot.
Clot guarded closely by Janowski.
Pouncey gets the ball, guarded by Glazer drives to the right, dribble handoff to George,
kicks it over to McCure.
Down low, tough denial defense.
Janowski working on Simpson again, keeps his hands up in a pocket and the foul.
Fourth on Janowski and coach Kevin Bradley is irate about it.
I mean, I just don't understand the call there.
Janowski didn't get his body.
He actually leaned back in order to avoid the foul and still drew it there.
Gwenny will check in as that's the fourth on Janowski,
Beeson in for McCollum who we said was hobbling still 20 points great outing if he can't go the rest of it 55 42 and a chance for the bucket and the foul here for Simpson like we said
Janowski was aware that he had three fouls and was trying to do everything he could Simpson threw his body at him and they called the foul yeah I think we will see Janowski or not Janowski I think we will see obviously Janowski again I think we'll see
oh my gosh I think we'll see Mikey McCollum again tonight
He's been great from the line.
55, 43, 12-point lead.
It keeps cutting down.
Chargers able to regain it back to where they want it.
Top of the key, Reuter finds Woodham's in the corner to McWenny.
Able to find Ritter to top of the key.
Looking to attack, finds Woodham's off the down screen.
Guarded by Veeth drives baseline.
Tough take.
Woodham's inside hand.
Lay up no good.
Rebound cleared away by Johnson and Simpson.
The chance to cut it within 10 for the first time since half.
George from the screen from Pouncey denies it 19 on the shot clock top of the key
gets it back off the dribble hand off right wing screen there by Pouncey coming off the
down screen Vieth guarded by Bison another screen from Pouncey back to George in the

5545.
Yeah, I mean, finally get the lead down at 10,
not just from the first half,
but really from the first five minutes of the game.
Woodham's top of the key, strict zone here.
They switch back to man out of it as they have all game.
McWenny finds Router on the right wing working on Simpson.
Blazer coming off the down screen,
able to swing it to the corner.
Woodham's not afraid to shoot the three ball.
Good.
Charles Woodham's with a huge shot for the Chargers,
58-45 now.
Yeah, Big Rick.
was going to go back in there for a second.
I thought he had a really, really good first half.
Haven't seen him on in the second half.
But I think they're going to leave Glazer in.
There's a big race to sit back down on the bench.
Glazer playing tough, guarding pouncy here.
Simpson coming off the screen, shoots a crazy shot.
Looks like he's going to get free throws off of it.
Three of them.
It's going to take us to another immediate timeout.
Just under eight to play, 58, 45.

This is the Making of America from the Jefferson Media Group.
On March 2nd, 1836, Texas declared its independence from Mexico
and named David Burnett as its president and Sam Houston as its commander-in-chief.
Mexico's president, Santa Ana, declared them revolutionaries and ordered them shot on site.
Because of their heroics, history has focused on the Battle of the Alamo,
where Superior Mexican forces eventually defeated its 189 defenders.
But six weeks later, in a battle that lasted less than 18 minutes,
Sam Houston's army attacked and defeated Santa Ana's forces at the Battle of San Jacinto,
and the Republic of Texas was born.
This has been the Making of America.

Hello and welcome back.
I'm listening to Radio for Reels out 101.7 FM Charger basketball, 5845,
with a chance to cut it to 10 here.
And Kai Simpson, kind of playing that NBA style of basketball.
How many free throws can I shoot in a game?
I mean, it's incredible.
A lot of fouls here.
I mean, both teams fouls this half, but for even that first half,
it was like 9 to 2.
And a lot of shooting fouls for the Saints,
whereas Chargers has been all on the ground.
Kind of some confusing calls.
definitely some calls that you should be rightfully upset about especially as your own team.
Kevin Bradley working the refs here as Simpson has three chances to cut the lead.
5845 just under 8 to play in this game turned out to be a pretty good one after a great start
from the Chargers. First one's up and good in Simpson getting those opportunities from the line
and converting. Definitely interesting too because his last take to the rim, Chargers did jump
so very could have been a call didn't get it there. Gets it on a great.
Easy coming off a down screen three point shot makes the second one 58 47
probably they better if they got it on that one because the other one would have been on Joe Ruder and that would have been his fourth as well
up and no good misses his first one in a while 58 47 charges with an 11 point lead
Ruter will start the offense big Rick back in trying to find something down low picks up his dribble
triple handoff to Woodham's on the left wing down in the low block working on pounsy is big Rick
double is gonna come it does kick out McWitty oh
Three ball wide open, off the rim won't go.
Yeah, he is the team's best three-point shooters statistically.
Not a big three-point shooter, not a big volume guy, but usually when he gets those open shot, he makes him.
George kicks it over to Simpson, feeling it with a stepback three ball taking over in this second half, 58-50 now.
McWinney trying to get in that offense, had a great look last time, wasn't able to convert, and the lead is down to eight.
Woodham's on the left wing, download a big.
Rick and this has been their offense. Great kick to Beeson.
Catches it, swings it to Woodhams working here on Veeth drives.
Tough move, baseline, tough defense.
Woodham's fading away in the mid-range.
When you need a most Charles.
Woodham's is there.
60 to 50 now.
Phenomenal shot by Woodhams.
He's having a great night, too.
McWenny guarding Simpson, who's taking over.
Tough defense.
Once again, out of control towards the basket,
throws up a shot, gets two free throws out.
of it. Charters are frustrated and it's going to be on Rooter, his fourth and that's huge.
As this game is only a 10-point game of 646 to play and those are the type of guys you need in the
game. Yeah, a lot of, a lot of time left and I don't know if you're going to sub them out here
or just wait until he gets his fifth but I mean, four fouls is just incredible for a guy who
hasn't probably fouled out maybe once all year. Yeah, very smart defender, great defender,
but very smart. He's going to stay in. Check that Garibolti. I think he's going to get
him here. 60 to 51.
Kai Simpson, the red shirt freshman, 6-3 guard from Lexington, Kentucky, Frederick Douglas High School.
It's been playing great for them in the second half.
And I know he's been filed a lot on some question of calls, but that last step back three was a big one.
Can't argue that.
Second one for him is up and good as well, making his freebies when he's got him.
60 to 52 now, eight-point game.
And the press is on.
Soft one there for Thomas More.
Offense starting up here for the charges with Woodham's on the horse head.
Swings at the boltie, top of the key, McWinney.
Surveing here, finds Big Rick in the high post.
See when the double comes, it does.
Spins baseline, blocked there.
Tough defense by Pouncey.
And a big chance here for Thomas Moore.
Tough drive.
George, tough layup.
Won't go.
Rebound by Beeson.
His most open look of the night for George.
One of the leading scores can't convert.
to play now 60 to 52. McWinney has to pick up his dribble. 15 on the shot clock. Woodham's here on
George. It's been a big shot anchor for the Chargers drives to the left tough left-handed layup.
Won't go. George gets the rebound and looking to push it here. Picked up by McWinney.
Kicks it out to Simpson guarded by Garrett Boltee, one of the great defenders for the Chargers.
Tass here trying not to foul, trying to get a stop. 60 to 52. Simpson drives, baseline. Tough take. Doesn't get a foul.
there. First one they haven't called in a while and Bolte with great defense.
60 to 52. I mean, he is extremely, extremely, extremely fundamental. And when they are pressing,
he's usually the guy that they put in on the rebounder. He's very smart defender and he's very,
very good at a shot. Redishevich swings at the boltie in the corner. Finding Woodham's
drives, kick back out Beeson tough three ball won't go. Rebound clear by George. Still 60 to 52.
Clock ticking under five now. Paris back in.
Had a couple threes on the first half, finds McCure, top of the key, George.
Guarded by Woodham's back to Simpson.
Bolty stays on him tight, makes him pick up his dribble, has to find it in the corner to McCure.
Now down low, pounty working on Big Rick.
Driving to the left, tough left-hand.
Lay up good.
60 to 54 now in the smallest lead we've seen in a while.
We've got six-point game here for the Chargers.
444 left to go.
I mean, two guys, two stars on the bench with four fouls and Woodham's with three.
Joe Ruger looks like check back in with four fouls.
Bolsey, top of the key, 15 on the shot clock, guarded tightly by Simpson.
Surveying, trying to find something here, swings it over to Big Rick.
Top of the key, he's an eight on the shot clock now.
Woodham's coming off the downscreen, tough fading three ball, won't go.
Rebound cleared away by George.
60 to 54 now, just under 4 to play.
Tough drive on Woodham's.
Stops in the lane, turnaround, tough shot, good.
By George, and now it's 60 to.
56. Thomas Moore
fighting all the way back.
McWenny driving. Tough
defense there.
Gets the timeout off.
It's going to be one for Kevin Bradley now.

Hello, Ann, welcome back.
You're listening to Radio Realsdale 101.7 FM, and we got a tight one here.
We're just under four to play.
60 to 56.
Great comeback from Thomas Moore.
What do they have going right?
I mean, they're making their shots for sure, but deep.
Exfessively, Chargers haven't been able to get anything going on the offense
events, and they've been able to draw a lot of fouls, Thomas Moore has,
on drives to the basket.
The unfortunate thing is that these are a lot of foul calls that I wouldn't agree with.
I think they're kind of soft, but, you know, the rest are calling it the way the rest are calling it,
and you have to play it to that way.
So Chargers have been driving a lot, but they haven't been driving and trying to draw the foul.
They've been trying to try to shoot the athletic layout.
Yeah, Chargers, back in with Janowski, Rooter, and Wottoms each with three, or,
4 fouls and then Woodham's a 3 and then two injured players McCallum and
Yerian. Interesting to see charges with the sideline out of bounds drawn up there

So this particular Michigan City's name at first look has a fairly simple origin
story, it's a bit more complicated than it first seems. The name Detroit comes from a French word
that means straight like a body of water, which in turn comes from the city's positioning around the
Detroit River. The river comes from Lake Erie, one of the five Great Lakes. The city still remains
as one of the oldest and most important cities in the Midwest. Though the name comes from French
settlements in the early 18th century, which was roughly 300 years ago, the land itself has
been populated for over 11,000 years by many different peoples, including the Iroquois and the
here on rich in resources it was highly contested and after many battles ultimately ended up within the

Good to see McKeure able to get off on his own power.
Kind of an off non-contact injury, so Brewer's up for him.
But we are back here. Simpson dribbling it up.
It's been the star in the second half for the Saints.
Top of the key guarded by McCalla.
Yeah, the joy is for him in his future career.

It looked like he was holding his ankle.

they've looked at Charles Woodams.
Great finish over. Simpson.
Back download of Pouncey, swings it out to Simpson on the right wing screen.
Pouncey slips it, looking to drive.
Great defense by Routter.

Big shot there by Janowski was able to wind down the game clock, shot clock, all of them,
and make a tough layup, almost blocked off the backboard by Crow.
Now the chargers are comfortably in lead by six.
Coach Kevin Bradley firing up the troops trying to get out of here with a victory after a little bit of a slump here in the second half.
Yeah, there's Thomas Moore.
You're looking to shoot a three-pointer because then you don't need to foul technically.
He probably still will try to get a couple points back.
He'll still have a shot well from the line.
But you don't, you're looking for a three.
Tough Stevens by McCallum, 17 on the shot clock.
George kicks it to the corner.
Crow, his first shot of the night's blocked by Router.
What a play.

pretty clear. That's a flagon foul. That has to be a flagon foul. That might be the most flagon foul I've
ever seen. Simpson, who has been the one drawing fouls complaining to the refs all game,
takes out his anger after the miss in the corner from Zion Crow. Interesting they go to him for the
big time shot hasn't played much, hasn't played much all season. He takes the corner three blocked by
Router.
Yeah, you really, really thought Paris.
We'd been hot earlier in the game.
He had missed a three coming right out of halftime to see if he was still hot.
But had been a great shooter and had been hot, you thought he'd go there.
I love to see what we're seeing from the Chargers and McCollum.
Guaranteed to have at least the one-in-one, fourth foul on Simpson, who's been their spark.
Kind of just let out an anger foul there.
Kind of looked like a hockey check.
Yeah, and I think they'll come back and call that intentional.
Give the Chargers two free, or a flakron, excuse me.
give the Chargers two free throws and a foul.
Yeah, this could put the game out of reach and an errand play there.
Like we said, the Chargers are such a veteran team.
They've been in games like this throughout their whole careers.
They've been in one of the top teams in the GMAC,
and they're playing against the team and Thomas Moore
that lots of potential.
We saw it here in the second half, but still young.
Yeah, and you know what you did here?
You did the smart thing.
You inbounded the ball to your best shooter.
Yeah, Joe Ruder is a struggling night.
He's also a great free throw shooter.
but I think Michael McCollum is their best free throw shooter overall.
Usually those guys who are great from the three point line are great from the free throw line.
You're just Steph Curry, phenomenal from the free throw line.
They're able to set their feet, kind of find that rhythm.
Let's see what the reps have on it.
I mean, they're all taking a look at it.
Doesn't really feel like a question from what we saw up here just because of how physical of a play it was,
just on their own sideline and just kind of knocked McCollum out.
Interesting to see.
Good to see that he's okay, as we said, kind of how much.
in dealing with a lot of stuff with that ankle injury, that foot injury.
So he's came back and had a great night, see if he can kind of put this game out of reach
with potentially four free throws.
And I mean, we'll see what the rest finally have to call, but the calls out of being
soon.
They're away from the video board, but they are still discussing it.
And they're going to give the official.
Trying to hear and hear what they have to say to coach Kevin Bradley.
He's giving him two fingers.
two shots.
Not really sure exactly what you're saying.
I'm very confused.
Yep.
It has been upgraded to a flagrant.
Just the flagrant won.
Simpson upset with himself.
Just a lapse of focus there.
Trying to go for a steal, get the ball back.
You're only down six.
I know it seems like a lot,
but the Chargers missed the front end.
You hit a three, three-point game.
But now McCollum, the best free-throw shooter,
it's going to get a lot of chances at the line.
You're going to get two.
And you're going to get the ball back.
Yeah. Very interesting decision, as we said, Simpson, who's been the one trying to draw the fouls all game, made that one easy for the refs.
McCollum, first one up in, nothing but net, a great night for him.
Got to be close to his career high.
Yeah, I believe so.
He's a great player, sophomore, played a lot last year as a freshman, has evolved his game, and very selfless player coming off the bench.
Second one is also up in good.
68 now to 60.
Chargers are going to get the ball
and I mean
if they can get it here
try to get it to McCollum you would imagine
as he just made two
great play yep and they do get it to McCallum here
he's going to get fouled there by Veeth
24 seconds to play in this one
and McCollum's going to get a chance for the one
and one
to kind of put this game out of reach and secure a big
GMA victory head into the weekend
yeah he's going to have 22 points
scores 68 to 60
He was to leave with 24 seconds left.
He's had 28 points or 22 points, and Woodhams also had 22 points.
Yeah, very quiet night for Woodham's.
Just like we said, though, whenever they needed that big time bucket in a little bit of a slump.
They were able to find it with him.
McCollum, no good.
Yerian tips the rebound out.
Nobody home goes out of bounds.
68, 60, 22 seconds to play.
Thomas Moore going to get the sideline out of bounds.
Charger faithful clapping it up at a great effort to secure the end of this game.
Simpson coming back the other way on McCollum.
great defense by McCollum. Step back three ball. Simpson wants a foul on that one too.
Balls tipped around. Out of bounds off the area in 11 seconds now.
It's all but over here. Great defense by McCallum, him and Simpson going at it.
And you love to see him able to stay in the game and guard him there.
Yeah, I mean, phenomenal. You're coming back from injury.
You can tell he's in some pain, and he just had a phenomenal thing.
In bounds goes to Simpson drive into the cup. They're going to let him get the layup there.
I don't want to foul.
68, 62 now.
Chargers do have to inbound it with seven seconds.
Ball in quickly to Router.
He's going to get fouled.
Nope, not going to call it.
It's going to be Janowski instead of the line.
I believe it's going to be two shots now.
Yep, upgraded to 10 fouls for Thomas Moore.
And a great effort from them in the second half.
Nothing to take away from them.
But the Chargers is a veteran leadership.
We'll close this one out.
68, 62 is our score right now,
but it looks like it's going to be over.
There's only 4.8 seconds left in the clock.
for this entire game.
First one is up and good.
Shooters touch there for Janowski,
one of the best mid-range shooters in all of the conference.
Loves that shot.
69, 62, five seconds to play.
Second one is up and good.
The Chargers is able to secure a huge victory
heading into the GMAC tournament coming up.
Hope to see them at home.
Paris will launch it at the end of the game.
It's up and good.
Great shot by Paris, but it's 70 to 65, and that's going to do it.
Big win on the efforts of McCollum and Woodham's.
70 to 65.
