Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to Objectively Correct. Probably. Where your host is Olivia Henson and Chauvonne Weed, and this is our silly show where we take five minutes to rank our top five of a random category. So join us as we share our hot takes on things that don't really matter because it's fun to have opinions. Let's list. Welcome back, guys. Today the category is sharks.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Sharks. We, I mean, everyone loves sharks, right? Actually, that's a lie. I don't even really like sharks, but these are five sharks that I do like. This might actually be the reason that we have. this podcast is because we wanted an excuse to rank sharks and we were like, how can we make it? Because we don't have that much to say about sharks, but we have at least five minutes of things to say about sharks. And like in our minds, when we think of like ranking things that really don't
Starting point is 00:00:40 matter, sharks just was the instant pop up. And at the moment, we had been really into sharks. So happy shark week. It's a constant lifestyle for us really, but you know, we decided to give it some like breathing room and now we're circling back to the quintessential episode. Yeah. So in number five, we have the great white shark. Yes. Okay. And the thing about this is that I kind of despise it the most ever. It's probably one of my least favorite animals on the planet. But it's a classic. As far as sharks go, if you think of a shark, I bet you're thinking of a great white. Also, the PR for Great White's are incredible because apparently it's not even like, I think the tiger shark is more deadly. But like, when you think of dangerous sharks, obviously the Great White one is the one is the one that you're
Starting point is 00:01:17 going to be over time. I mean, literally if I go, dunna, dunna, dunna, what are you thinking of? You're so scared right now. If you're in deep water, scared about something, it's because of a Great White shark. Up next is the whale shark at number four. You know what? He's the best of both worlds. He's both whale and shark. Two great animals. And honestly, it's one of these things, we were talking about this before, it's one of those
Starting point is 00:01:39 animals that, like, it doesn't look like any other animal. It's so unique that it almost, like, there's something like ethereal and just like stunning about it. Like, it's just a cool looking animal. Yeah. My boyfriend took me to the Georgia aquarium over the summer and I saw a whale shark in person in this massive tank. Were you in the tank too?
Starting point is 00:01:56 I want to say yes, but that's lying. Darn it. They need to get an interaction experience. He actually threw me in and I was like, this is the best day of my life. Boyfriend of the year. Okay, up next is a basking shark. At number three. And here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:02:10 You guys should probably look up a picture of this guy if you don't. If you can't immediately visualize it when we say it. If you can't think of it, definitely look it up. Because boy, does I have a signature aesthetic. But he's so cute. And just the gentle giant of the ocean, apparently. Yeah, because they're kind of like, the thing about them is that like they're so cute. And like, yeah, harmless.
Starting point is 00:02:27 They're never going to touch. you but like it is like still kind of metal because if you see it like if you like encountered it irl there is absolutely no way that you're not like gonna with break neck speed paddle up towards the whatever boat that you came from but we're also pretty sure i'm pretty sure from our research um which was kind of minimal that they don't eat like other fish yeah and stuff i'm pretty sure yeah it's kind of like how the humpback whales and the great like the huge massive whales just like taken plankton and other things like floating in the water and i think technically that's how the basking shark works? Yes, exactly. And then at number two, we have the cookie cutter shark,
Starting point is 00:03:02 which this might be the scariest shark on the list, at least. Yeah, yeah, explain its whole deal. Of like the specifics, because the cookie cutter shark is a little shark, but it has really sharp round, like jaw and it will attach to bigger sharks and whales and take like cookie cutter chunks out of them. So it's like scary, but an interesting way. Yeah. And like kind of an enticing way. I think I actually have a morbid curiosity about, like, what would it be like to have a cookie set? Like, take a cookie cutter to your arm. Like, people have gotten weirder, like, piercings, you know what I'm saying? There's a little hole, you know?
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah, I don't know. I just like, that's so fascinating. I mean, obviously, I would hate that. But, like, isn't it kind of like, interesting? Huh. Like, that's so innovative. That's such an innovative way to attack others. He's just a little guy.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Yeah. It's okay. Doing his best. In number one, we have the spotted wabogong. Guys, boy, do you need to look this one up because she's stunning. She's beautiful. She looks like your grandma's Paisley couch. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:03:58 No, she's just like, oh my gosh, what an aesthetic she's got going on? She's a love seat of couches. Yeah, she's of, of sharks. She's like, I don't know why, she's definitely a she. Every single one of these, by the way, new fact made up about these, there's no males. Fake fact of the day, they're all female. They're all females. She's just so stunning.
Starting point is 00:04:15 And she's a bottom feeder. So she kind of just like does her thing and like hangs out and like just kind of like takes in the scenes from the box. Yeah, she doesn't need to be like the main attraction, but she's just kind of like down there hanging out. And she's just so pretty, and her name is spotted wabagong. Let's do a quick recap. And number five, we have the Great White Shark. He's a classic. Yep.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Next at number four is the whale shark, best of both worlds. Number three, the basking shark, the gentle giant of the ocean. And number two is the cookie cutter shark. And in number one, we have the spotted wabogong. So pretty and reminds us of our grandma's couch. Great memories. And you know what guys? We're not saying we're totally right, but we are objectively correct.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Probably. On Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM. See you later.
