 In this episode we turn to the Old Testament for quite the scandalous tale.

You can't believe a word she says most times, but this time it was true. Now, rumor has it, she ain't got your love anymore. Hello, hello, and welcome to Rumor Has It. I'm your host, Adi Longnaker, and today we're turning back the pages of history for our scandalous little story. That's right, we're going into the Old Testament to talk about the story of David and Bathsheba. In the spring, time when kings generally go to war, David sent his generals out to war and remained at home in the palace. One day, when he was walking on his roof, he saw on the roof of another man's house a woman bathing, and he fell so in love with her that he knew he had to have her.

When she came and told him that she was with child, he sent for her husband, but her husband was a faithful man, and he would not visit his wife until the war was won. So David sent to his generals and had his generals put the man in the front lines. and then withdraw so that he would surely be killed. When Yeriah, the man, was killed, David took Bathsheba and made her his wife. Now, this displeased God, and he had Nathan, the prophet, come to David, and David felt convicted and realized the wrong that he had done. The baby ended up dying, but from this union of David and Bathsheba,

King Solomon came about. This story is so interesting because as scandalous as it is, and as horrible as it is, and the things that David did were truly awful.
