Starting point is 00:00:01 You were listening to Soundtracks for the Skyline, a genre of music for each city. I'm Lily Faye Kramer on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM. One of the largest metropolitan in established cities in the world, the London music scene is always in the spotlight because of its hit music. Today, in part one of London, I'm going to introduce their modern music. Beginning in the 60s, the Beatles captured the hearts of people worldwide through their moving lyrics through songs such as Let It Be or Yellow Submarine. They pioneered with their use of patting on drums and vocal double tracking which modernized the music industry. Later, in the 70s until now, Elton John continues to chart top, top charts with each album spanning from soft rock, electric pop, and R&B. Most recently, his duet with Dua Leipa, cold-hearted, topped the charts and adjuncted.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Dole Contemporary in the UK. Brit Pop, made famous by the Spice Girls in the 90s, created a new wave of dance music, popular on the radio and at clubs around town. Wembley Stadium, which is the home stadium for England's national football team, is a popular spot to attend arena concerts, while smaller venues such as pubs around town are fun too.
