Starting point is 00:00:00 You are listening to Soundtracks for the Skyline, a genre of music for each city. I'm Lily Fay Kramer on Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM. With its wide variety of music ranging from American hits, jazz, and French pop, the Paris music scene is quite diverse. By walking the streets, a multitude of sounds are heard from the saxophone is busking on the street or the distant organ coming from a cathedral. Music festivals are quite popular, too. La Fette de la Muzique, or Music Day, is the most well known throughout France and is hosted by their national radio station, Radio France.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Famous for its diverse international beats, Le Fette de la Muzique in Paris brings people together. Paris has a growing number of citizens from African and Arab countries which contribute to the new music scene. It is not uncommon to hear Caribbean and African beats as the bassist for the Paris top 50 songs. If you are curious more about French music, Juliette Armenet and Angel are some of my favorites. I'm Lily Fay-Kramer and this has been Soundtracks for the Skyline on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
