Starting point is 00:00:04 You're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM. This is the lazy Susan, and I'm Peyton Hughes. On The Lazy Susan, we highlight happenings in the cabinet on a weekly basis. However, my co-host, Louis Thune, is driving home for Easter and will not be with us today. But let's dive in. At a press conference on Wednesday, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., presented some stunning new data. He announced that now, according to a survey from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, one in 31 children have autism.
Starting point is 00:00:38 In a post on X following the press conference, Kennedy stated that the risks and costs of this crisis are a thousand times more threatening to our country than COVID-19. This follows an important statement in a cabinet meeting on the 10th of this month, where Kennedy declared that the Health and Human Services Department would uncover the cause of the autism epidemic by September. Kennedy is charging full steam ahead to fulfill his promise to the American people

In the midst of Harvard's federal, Federal funding controversy, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, has doubled down on her stance to protect civil rights. In an interview with Newsmax on Tuesday, McMahon spoke directly to Harvard as she stated that the government will not tolerate any civil rights violations or unsafe environments for students, especially as long as those universities receive federal funding. McMahon has been very active this week, as on a different front, she is working with the Attorney General Pam Bondi, and they have announced a lawsuit against the state of Maine for a failure to comply with Title IX. McMahon and Bondi both believe that Maine is refusing to protect its female athletes.

Also of note as we approach a new week, Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Besant, is reinvigorating the Internal Revenue Service with new efficiency, slashing unnecessary contracts and positions while hiring more productive and skilled workers, all with the goal that Tax Day might work better for American families. of state Marco Rubio has followed suit with percent, cutting many unnecessary parts of the State Department, and saving taxpayers tens of millions of dollars per year.
