One of the biggest bright spots for this women's Charger basketball team is the absolute production of number 23 and Elise Petrusik.
In five games, she's played, she's been shooting 49.1% from the field.
She's made 17-3-pointers on the year, shooting almost 60% for three as the Chargers win the tip-off.

Rulman at the wing, back to Ellie Bruce in the center, who hands it off to Alcanish.
She's turned over by the Lake Erie Storm.
Lake Erie drives the ball down the court, passes around the three-point line, holds it at the

Your Chargers, 3 and 2 on the year.
Coming off of a loss of number 19th in the country,
Ferris State University,
who has a stellar athletic program.
Lake Erie passes down to the low post,
guarded by Smith.
Who passes, puts a shot up,
and it's good.
So you're Lake Erie.
That'll be the third shot they've made after
your chargers held the storm to just four points
and one quarter of play.
Chargers take the ball back down the court.
Petra Zick at the top of the key passes to Emma Rulman.
Emma Rulman had capted on this team.
Passed to Savannah Smith, who drives?
Layup does not go in.
Rebounded by Lake Erie as they drive down.
Looking for a fast break.
Lake Erie's been struggling to penetrate this
Chargers defense between some elite low post play
from both Savannah Smith,
and Ellie Bruce and out on the wings between
Al-Kanesha Cilarski and Petruzik.
They have been playing
very well as they rebound to
miss shot from Lake Erie. That's Maddie Smith
who tries to pass back
to Annalise Petruzik but is
deflected off of the hand and out of bounds
of a Lake Erie basketball player.
Lake Erie
tries to inbound the pass, but
fumbles with it off of a charger deflection
and they will get a second chance to
inbound the ball.
Lake Erie takes the ball across half court.
Passes down to the low post, puts a shot up,
blocked by Savannah Smith, who passes to Maddie Smith.
Maddie Smith passing out to,
Sarah Alkinesh, who's pass is stolen by a Lake Erie basketball player who dribbles down the court.
Dribbles, passes down, tries to drive, is fouled on the shot, and she will shoot free throws.
That'll be number 15 for...
Oh, scratch that, labeled not a shooting foul.
Lake Erie will just inbound the ball.
They pass in, guarded by Smith, Savannah Smith.
Lake Erie passed back on the three-point line.
Shoots does not go.
And a Lake Erie player leaps out of bounds towards the ball
and knocks it back off of a charger ankle to maintain possession.
Pretty athletic play from Lake Erie Storm.
Your Hillsdale charges currently lead the Lake Erie Storm 13 to 6 with 7 minutes and 45 seconds left in the second quarter.
Lake Erie with the ball at the three-point line, passes in almost deflected, puts a shot up, does not go.
Rebounded by Rulman, who takes the ball down the court passes to Emilia Silarski.
Who passes back to Rulman over to Petrusik.
Petersick who drives
puts a shot up
the layup is good
Annalise Pitcherzik
with an athletic layup around
two Lake Erie
women's basketball players
to bring your charges to a
nine point lead
15 to 6 with seven minutes left
in the second quarter
Lake Erie puts a two point shot up
in the corner of the court
is good
Sarah Alconnesius takes the ball
up passes to Emilius Larksoy
puts a three point shot up
It's good!
Amelia Solarski, the sophomore out of Illinois,
with a great three-point shot to bring your charges to a 10-point lead.
And in the crowd, the crowd is going wild because here at Don Tibbitts Potter Arena,
we have T's for threes, and every time a three-point shot is made by your chargers,
T-shirts get tossed into the stands.
And I got to say, those are some pretty sweet T-shirts.
so I've got a few myself.
Sydney Panassik, number 11 and number 24.
Ellie Bruce sub in for the Chargers
as Lake Erie looks to inbound the ball.
Lake Erie dribbles.
Makes a two-point shot down the baseline.
Bringing their deficit to eight as Solarsky dribbles down the court.
Passes to Petruzik.

Amelia currently has the ball.
Shoots another three.
Does not go.
Rebounded by Lake Erie.
Lake Erie taking the ball down the court.
Passes.
Looks for an open storm player.
Lake Erie Storm puts a shot up, is blocked by Elie Bruce, but they're calling a foul on her.
So number 33 for the Lake Erie Storm will be shooting some free throws.
in an odd turn of events
there's not a 33 listed on the Lake Erie
women's basketball roster
so I'm going under the impression
that was actually number 34 in the roster
more
and Elise Petersick
with the ball for the chargers
down at the round of three point line passes to
Magdalena Solarski
who dribbles, drives.
Shoots.
Does not make it. Gets her own rebound.
Passes back to the three-point line. Ailey's Peachtick for three.
Does not go. Rebounded by Lake Erie.
Pass to Leonard.
Guard for Ronnie Leonard.
For Lake Erie, who dribbles.
Passes number three for Lake Erie in the corner.
Three-point shot is air balled.
But number 33 for Lake Erie leaps out of bounds and spikes the ball at the ankles of a Hillsdale Charger.
That's the second time they've done that now to maintain possession on a bad shot.
Lake Erie inbounds the ball.
That's Leonard passing and driving.
As we will, as ball goes out of balance, and we will go to a media media timeout.

Your chargers lead 18 to 11
with four minutes and 52 seconds left in the second quarter.
And so far, Hillsdale has more or less dominated the game,
especially on defense, limiting to them to only a few shots.
Right now Lake Erie is shooting free throws
That is number 33
Grace Leon
Whose free throw percentage is only 23.1%
She misses the first one
And misses the second one

He puts a shot up
Does not go rebounded by Smith
Savannah Smith

Over to Panassik, who shoots for three.
Does not go.
Rebounded by Lake Erie, losing possession, turnover, recovered by the Chargers.
who passed to Emilius Larsi down the low post.
Shot goes up, does not go off the hands of a Lake Erie basketball player
and your charges will maintain possession down by their side of the court.
This Lake Erie basketball team is 0 and 5 looking for their first win after starting to season
0 and 4 in conference play and losing their conference opener.
This is your Hillsdale Chargers conference opener themselves here at home.
And they are 3 and 2 coming off a loss to number 19 Ferris State.

Lake Erie continues to pass around the three-point line,
unable to find an open player down the court.
Lake Erie puts a three-point shot up, guarded by Savannah Smith, does not go.
Ball is dropped.
in, I believe, a backcourt violation was just called on Lake Erie.
So Hillsdale will maintain possession.
Emma Rulman will inbound to Magdalena Salarski for your chargers.
In addition to the Salarsky twins, there's another pair of twins in the house.
Shout out Olivia and Lauren Legory for work in the game.

That is number three for Lake Erie.
Nina Schaefer
Her free throw percentage is 83%.
Her first shot
Rims out
after bouncing back and forth
for quite a while. She dribbles and prepares to take her second shot.
Shot goes up.
Also goes out so the 83% free throw
free throw shooter,
pardon me, cannot make one
on those attempts.
Magdalena Solarski drives a ball down the court four-year chargers,
passes to Ehrulman, back to Salarsky, who drives,
puts a shot up, and one.
Magdalena Solarski puts a great shot up around a Lake Erie player,
and draws a foul, and she will go to the free throw line.
Magdalena Solarski, that is a sophomore, number four, out of Illinois.
Her free throw percentage on the year is,
66%. She has made two of the three. She's attempted this season so far. But she'll get two more
opportunities right now. One more opportunity, actually. My bad. This is an and one shot.
Looking for a three-point play to bring the Chargers lead to 11. First shot, the shot goes up and goes

Break through a stifling Chargers defense

That is number two for Lake Erie.
Riley Mantagner, her free throw percentage so far is 72.7%.
First shot does not go.
She dribbles again.
Her second shot goes up.

I'm Lauren Smith and I like to say
I'm a better runner than my dad.
Then we will argue about this
and finish the debate
by going for a run
at exactly the same speed
for exactly the same amount of time.
That's irrelevant,
depending on who you ask.
But what's not irrelevant
is the difference between
then and then.
While the pronunciation may be
almost identical,
these two words
don't mean the same thing.
Then, T-H-E-N
refers to time
or logical results.
It happened back then.
Well, then,
I'm just going to run faster.
Than T-H-A-N is making a comparison.
I think I'm a better runner than him.
He thinks he is a better runner than me.

looking to build off the successful season last year,
returning a lot of players.
This team is full of young talent,
with several sophomores being key contributors,
contributors, including Magdalena and Amelia Solarski,
the twins from Illinois,
Ellie Bruce, who played a lot as a freshman,
especially after the injury last year of Savannah Smith.
Both run the five and the four here for your chargers.
Among other sophomore, Sarah Alucanacius, another striking guard.
And so far, it's been pretty good for the chargers.
Up by 14 points and really just playing elite defense so far.
Absolutely stifling.
defense. Lake Erie struggling to get the ball
inside the three-point line
for most of this first half.
But overall,
moods are great here in the Dale.
We've been getting a lot of three-point shots,
namely from Annalise Petrusik, shooting 58.1%
from three on the year.
having an elite season so far.
And the best part about having great three-point shooters on the team like Annalise Pitcherzic
and Caitlin's Blaine and Lauren McDonald, two great three-point shooters for last year,
is here at Hillsdale College.
Every three-point shot made means T-shirts get tossed up into the stands,
T's for threes.
And I will say, if you go to every home game this year,
you may just be able to fill up a whole closet.
and create a whole new wardrobe with all the three-point shots we make here at Hillsdale.
Looking great so far.
Here is our halftime show.
We've got some youngsters, hopefully some future chargers, some young children playing some basketball.
We've got a boys game down by the Hillsdale side and a girls game.
We're by the Lake Erie side.
In attendance today is our wonderful athletic director, Coach Tharp.
And, yeah, I mean, hey, we're looking great so far.
It's a wonderful Saturday afternoon.
Your chargers just got through a brutal week of academics here in classes.
The week before final exams, everything gets due, quizzes, essays, and all of the such.
But with final exams coming up, your charges are locked in in the classroom and on the court.
And overall, just it's a very focused Saturday here in Hillsdale.
I will be right back with you.
In a few minutes, you're listening to Chargers Basketball on Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM.
Welcome back to everybody.
You're listening to Chargers basketball here on the radio.
It's still 101.1.0.0.0. 0.m.m. I'm your host, K. Pymar.
And your Chargers currently at halftime against the Lake Erie Storm.
Your Chargers lead 29 to 15.
We'll be kicking off the second half, about six minutes or so.
Chargers have been playing some stifling defense
and have had a lot of success on offense
so far
Some team stats for Hillsdale
They've been shooting 41% from the field
As opposed to Lake Erie's 20% from the field
They've made two of nine three-point shots
Lake Erie has made none of their 12 attempts.
So not the best night from three today this afternoon,
four-year chargers who normally make quite a few three-point shots per game,
especially with Annalise Beecherzik shooting 60% on the season.
But what hasn't come from three has come from inside the paint,
especially from Ellie Bruce and mainly Savannah Smith.
with both have at least six points right now
between free throws being fouled
and put shots up overall inside the paint
and I think that's going to be,
I mean, Ellie Bruce and Savannah Smith
are definitely big reasons why this team has been successful today
between being able to score in the low post
against a, you know, overall much shorter
Lake Erie basketball team
and a big part of, you know,
Blake Erie's been struggling just to even get the ball inside the three-point line on their side of the court on offense,
and I think a big part of that is Bruce and Smith being absolute forces to be reckoned with down in the low post.
In addition to great defense from the guards around three-point arc.
Here we have several celebrities around
We got Rob Madison
And Maggie Hayward
It's a baseball and softball player
I see in the stands sitting next to me
We have
My brother Luke Jones

Speaking to Simpson, starting to realize what's missing from the picture here.
There's no Simpsonites down in the student section.
Just Tommy Morgan of the basketball team.
I'm sure they'll be here for the men's game, though, which starts pretty soon.
After your Hillsdale
Women's Basketball team wraps up this game
This second half against Lake Erie
The men will take on

the Charger, Hillsdale College Charger football team will be taking on Upper Iowa in the Albanyce Candy Bowl.

looking pretty well so far.
Obviously, a great way to start conference play.
And a four and two start of the season
is not something to be taken for granted,
especially when, well, you look across the court
and you see Lake Erie who has not had such fortunes so far.
Hillsdale Women's basketball made a decent push
into the conference tournament.

this season
we've got about 50 seconds

Other things to look forward to for Chargers athletics
after this semester is over
and we get back up in January.
Softball and baseball will also start.
Volleyball wrapped up their season a few weeks ago
in the G-MAC tournament.
And football plays about 10 minutes.
And, but first and foremost, your Hillsdale women's basketball team is starting their second half right now.
Up 29 to 15 against Lake Erie Storm.
Lake Erie, shockingly, I know, I know, from Ohio right around the Great Lake, Lake Erie.
In the Cleveland area, they inbound the pass.
because Hillsdale has won the previous jump ball.
They pass the ball around the three-point line,
guarded by Annalise Petrusich.
Passes.
Down to the corner.
Down to the low post, guarded by Ellie Bruce,
number 24, the sophomore.
Shot goes up, does not go, rebounded by Emma Rulman.
Emma Rulman passes to number four, Magdalene Slarsie.
Over to Ellie Bruce, a fast break.
Bruce puts a shot.
up does not go. We're covered by Lake Erie, who takes the ball back.
Lake Erie slowing it down, trying to run their offense, passes around the three-point line,
holds at the top of the key, drives, fumbles the ball, recovered by Emerulman, who passes to
Magdalena Silarski. Emma Rulman with the steel there.
Second-year captain, senior, on this team, beloved by her teammates.
So I've heard.
And as number 23, Annelese Petrusik, is fouled by a Lake Erie player.
And your charges will inbound the ball down on their scoring half.
That is Solarski.
Looking for someone to pass to, I think, I believe was intended for Emma Rulman.
But Ellie Bruce tipped it also going for the pass.
After a
after a scuffle looking for the ball
Lake Erie knocks it out of bounds
and your charge will maintain possession.
Petrusick passes into Emma Rulman
who passes over to
Halle Cinesh who drivels down to Ellie Bruce
in the low post. Shot goes up. It's good.

Emma Rulman, drives around two players, shoot scores. Back-to-back shots up and good for the Hildesdale
charges. They lead 33 to 15, with eight minutes left in the third quarter. Lake Erie takes
the ball back, dribbles off the pick and roll, trying to get away from number four.

Emma Rulman will pass it in for your chargers
Emma Rulman passes to number four
Magdalena Silarski

Pugetrizek to Al-Kanesha as they are playing press man coverage.
Back to Emma Rulman back on their side.
Pugerick catches around the corner three-point line, drives, puts a shot up, does not go.
Rebounded by Magdalena Slarski.
Over to Al-Akinesh, over to Rulman, down to Ellie Bruce, who puts a shot up and does not go.
A foul is called, though.
And Hillsdale will maintain possession.
The refs did not call the shooting foul, however,
so Ellie Bruce will not go to the free throw line.
Magdalena Slarksky, however, will
inbound the ball for your chargers.
She passes it to Emma Rulman,
who tries to pass it down to Ellie Bruce,
down in the paint, but is batted away by a Lake Erie player.
But they say it went off a Bruce's
hands. So Lake Erie gets possession. Your charges are also playing press defense, trying to
force another five-second violation. Like they did in the first half, Lake Erie passes down to the
low post. It's the number three. That's Nina Schaefer. Who makes a two-point shot for the Lake
Hurie Storm? Sarah Alkinesh has taken the ball back for your charges. She spins, passes to
Magdalena Solarski, who passes out to Peachesick, passes intercepted by number 33 Schaefer for the storm.
Passes, puts a shot up, a three-point shot is good for the storm.
That'll take us to the first media timeout.
Your Chargers are winning 33 to 20, six minutes and 52 seconds left in the first quarter.

Rebounded by Savannah Smith, who tries to put a shot up, is blocked by number 33 from Lake Erie.
And chargers will remain in possession of the basketball as they.
Inbound. Maddie Smith on the inbound pass. Pass out to Savannah Smith. No relation,
unlike the Slarsky Twins. Savannah Smith puts a shot up and it's good.
Savannah Smith with what I think is now 10 points so far this game.
Most likely leading the team with almost a third of her team's points so far as Lake Erie takes the ball back down to their side of the court tries to put a three up.
It's good.
Your chargers now lead by 12, 35 to 23, with four minutes and 40 seconds left in the third quarter.

the stories of those who have been awarded the Medal of Honor. This is Minute of Honor.
Here's Jinnah Suhita. On the night of October 2nd, 1952 in Korea, private first class Jack Kelso
was defending a vital outpost against a vastly superior enemy force when the commanding
officers became casualties. When an enemy grenade landed in a bunker holding four marines
besides himself, he unhesitatingly picked it up, rushed out into the open, and hurled it
back at the enemy. The grenade exploded as it left his hand, but Private Kelso
refused to move to safety and instead returned enemy fire, allowing other Marines pinned down
in a nearby bunker to escape. Kelso was mortally wounded while providing cover for his comrades.
He gallantly gave his life for his country, and for his valiant fighting spirit, aggressive
determination, and self-sacrificing efforts for the sake of others, private first class Jack
Kelso was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. This is Minute of Honor on Radio Free Hillsale

Fox on check.
Get ready to pay more for music.
Spotify will raise its prices for U.S. customers in early 2026.
That's according to the financial times.
The streaming service, which today not only trades in music but in other audio like podcasts,
currently costs $11.99 a month for an individual account.
The price hike may make some Spotify users scowl a bit, but it does follow price increases in Spotify's other markets around the world.
Those price jumps have been moderate, like in Europe, where the price per month only went up one euro.
But why raise the price at all?
Experts say Spotify's costs have been going up.
Firstly, they added lossless audio to their offerings.
That increased quality requires more digital power to deliver.
And there's been talk that the record labels, which produce much of the music from big-name artists, are demanding more money from streaming platforms.
