Two shots the layup bounces off the left side of the rim.
Offensive rebound.
Sidney Mills puts it back up and end.
There's that size advantage, easy layups.
Hillsdale Charger Basketball on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM starts now.
Hello and welcome.
You are listening to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM Charger Basketball.
We have a great in-conference matchup for you here.
I'm Gordy.
Today, your Hillsdale College Chargers taking on the Walsh Cavaliers in a matchup that is a big one for the Chargers.
Yeah, I mean, Chargers saw here, eight straight wins.
Can't make that up.
No, can't make that up.
This women's basketball team that was, you know, trying to fight for 500 last year, fighting for that middle pack team.
And now they're won eight straight.
That's incredible.
I couldn't remember the last time the team at Hillsdale has won.
I mean, eight straight other than maybe men's basketball.
Yeah, it's been a great run. Walsh coming off of a little in-conference losses,
but tough games that they've played should be a good opponent,
8-8 on the season.
So really exciting matchup.
Hillsdale probably really wants to keep this hot streak
because they have probably their most important game next week against Ashland.
If they can keep that game competitive,
well, Ashton has been the dominant force in the GMAC for a long time.
And it's just D-2 women's basketball in general?
Yeah, they won the national championship two years ago
and or the runner up three years ago.
So if they can keep this street going in the next game, it would be important.
Yeah, it could be a big game.
A couple of storylines for this game, just checking out what we got going on.
The height difference is one that I pointed out.
None of the starters really reaching six foot for Walsh playing on a small ball.
And the Chargers, of course, have a couple people that are six to, a couple bigger forwards.
The Chargers really like to get those close touches early.
So it should be an interesting storyline, see if we're going to go.
Walsh applies pressure with the press or their game plan.
Yeah, and one other big storyline for Hillsdale is it lost two fifth-year seniors to a medical
retirement, both to knee injuries, not coming back this year, and because of that, they will be
done.
They're both sitting on the sideline today.
So they went to the volleyball team and recruited another graduating senior, Marilyn Popalwell,
who is, I've never seen her play basketball, but she is a phenomenal volleyball player and phenomenal
athletes. So it'll be interesting here for me, especially to watch her play her first game.
She's been playing in these games. Should be exciting in all-conference and all-American volleyball
player taking her talents to the basketball court. Here we go for tip off. Chargers in the gray.
Savannah Smith is going to win it back to Lauren McDonald who sets up the offense.
Chargers looking to stay hot. Caitlin's blaine tipped away off her out of bounds. Turnover
Walsh takes it.
Yeah, you never want to turn it over on that first possession.
That first possession, you at least want to get a good look.
Bounding and running the point.
Number 12, Sammy Kim for the Cavaliers in the post.
Find them a dread key.
Dredkey, top of the key, looking for something.
Back to Kim.
Down low, post touch.
Kick out.
Swing the ball, Walsh, looking for something.
Top of the key, driving.
Floater, won't go.
Rebound.
McCormick. Yeah, great man defense right there. A couple guys got beat there, but
help defense. Very important early for the charges. Chargers back the other way.
McCormick drives left. Looking for something. Finds Splain in the corner. Three ball won't go.
Rebound the other way to meet Mallory Odo. And they're going to get her with a walk coming back
the other way. Your score is zero zero still here early. Yeah, and she was just looking to get the ball down the
court. I mean, wide open down the court was Sammy Kim, but Sammy Kim wasn't looking, so she had to
hold it for an extra step and ended up growing that travel call. Still a defensive battle here early with
nine to go. Chargers trying to start their offense. McDonald picks it up at the top of the key.
Swings it over to Splane. Finds Emma Rulman on the wing. Chargers setting up their offense.
Tribles left finds Lauren McDonald who comes off a screen. Looking for something. 12 on the shot clock.
Finds McCormick.
Drives to the left.
Left-hand layup won't go.
Rebound the other way to Lauren Galasca.
In transition.
Take blocked away by McDonald.
Great block there by McDonald.
I mean, the crowd's excited about that one.
In a defensive battle like this, still zero-zero, a great play on the charger defense.
Sandy Kim, the point guard to inbound.
She finds Lauren Galaska on the wing.
swings it to the corner is he callaway driving on mcdonald spins got her with a walk great defense by the chargers
yeah and you can see early there that they want to get the ball to sammy kim uh controversially
their best point score played all 16 games only started two games and starts on the bench most games
averages 14.8 points that's izie calloway um but instead kendle mccormick guardy sammy kim
Passes one down to Savannah Smith won't go.
Tough rebound.
Your score still zero zero.
Coming back the other way, Mallory Odieu to the right.
No good, rebound chargers.
Here comes Splein and transition.
Finds Kendall McCormick takes it.
Hop step, layup foul.
Just a defensive battle here early.
Both teams flying around with lots of energy.
Yeah, one of the storylines for today's game is Kaelin Splain,
32 points away from her 1,000 point.
It's going to take a phenomenal game.
I can't remember the last 30-point game I've seen out here in Dunnibitz-Potter Arena.
I've heard of her to get it today, but very close and has much basketball left to play.
For sure, McCormick's first one from the line is up and good.
Your score 1-0. Hillsdale with 803 to play in this first quarter.
Cormick's second one up and nothing but nylon.
2-0 here early for the Chargers looking to get a stop.
Kim setting up the offense, swinging the ball around.
Izzy Galloway.
Back to Kim.
Looking for something down low.
Emma Dredke.
Back to Kim.
Screen and roll.
Kim goes ISO on Savannah Smith.
Can't find anything.
Nine of a shot clock.
Chargers playing tough defense.
Mallory Odieu drives to the right.
Defense by Rulman.
Tough defense.
Good move.
Finishes with the left.
Your score 2-2.
Chargers deadlock.
Emma Rulman brings.
bringing it back down.
Finds McCormick.
Looks for a post stuff, batted away, stolen away by him a dreadkey.
Here come the Cavaliers back the other way.
Tim, on Rulman, drives to the right, can't find anything.
Fines Izzy Callaway, finds a corner three.
Galaska, no.
Offensive rebound, Dredke, back out.
Offense setting up with Mallory Odu, back to Kim.
Has to be able to box out there.
No second possessions, no charges under the basket at all.
Step back three from Kim won't go.
Rebound, Rulman.
Still 2-2 with 7 to play here in the first quarter.
McDonald's on Kim.
Rulman, down low.
Great cut by McCormick, the left-hand lay up.
Good.
Yeah, both teams playing man defense.
Hillsdale, collecting a lot of off-ball movement
instead of trying to dribble around the defense.
Walsh comes back the other way.
Won't get it.
Mallory O'Doo misses rebound, Savannah Smith.
McDonald, looking to push it.
finds Ruhman three ball good big three point shot for Emma Rulman your score seven to two
hillsill out to an early lead here in the beginning of the season hillsdale really struggle in the
fourth quarter so getting these first quarter points and making big leagues is huge
miss back the other way Mallory Odu's three-pointer won't go rebound splain she's looking to push it
chargers looking to expand on the seven to two lead with six to go McDonald drives baseline got her on
the arm on the floor the first foul your score seven to two as mentioned six to play
chargers playing tough defense early yeah both teams playing tough defense early i mean seven to two
nice low scoring game here in the first quarter for women's basketball a little bit of a hockey
sub here for both sides almost a full lineup switch for both teams for laying this first
and she's not the foul was on the ground so she won't be shooting free throw
In for the Chargers.
Lauren McDonald's still in.
Same with the leader, Caitlin Swayne.
Look at a drive.
Find Sarah.
Swings it over to Lauren McDonald.
Batting away.
Balls loose.
Goes to Walsh.
Transition.
Dredkey.
Top of the key.
Swings it around.
Into the game now.
Dredkey at the post.
Looking for something.
Driving is Walsh.
Back to Dredkee up top.
We're going to find a post touch on McDonald, puts it up blocked away by Ellie Bruce.
Out of bounds off Walsh.
And another big stop for the Chargers.
Yeah, great defense there, even if that ball went in Walsh's possession.
If it was last off the Charger, there was only four seconds left in the shot clock.
And a good shot would not have went up for Chargers.
So great defense there, taking the whole shot clock down.
Your score is 7 to 2.
Caitlin and the Chargers.
lines the freshman back to sloy in the corner looking for something she takes it won't go tough rebound there
for caroline guy coming back the other way walsh race roski three ball for walsh is good before i'm a dreadkey
there your score 7 to 5 yeah we haven't really seen it affect the game yet but walsh as soon as that
shot goes up is sending two players down the court. Walsh back the other way with a steel.
Balls loose. Picked up by Sarah. Swings it over to Annalise Petrazich. Finds Lauren
McDonald post-touch down low, Ellie Bruce. Layup, good. Just a great pass right there.
Put it in a place where the defender couldn't even get to it. Your score, 9 to 5, 417 in this first.
Walsh looking for something here.
Grace Reckosie
finds that Medvedkee.
And they're going to call it
offensive foul, I believe.
That was an offball foul.
A girl didn't get by
the girl that she wanted to.
Tried to cut back, but lowered her shoulder
into Sarah.
Aalekhavanishes, however,
you pronounce that name.
And we're going to go to a short media break.
He's listening to Radio Fieldsdale 101.7 FM.
I'm Gordy.
I'm Adam.
where we're saving the English language 60 seconds out of time.
I'm Lauren Smith, and someone recently asked me for my opinion on the word skidaddle.
Well, he didn't actually ask.
He said he didn't like the word, and I said I did, and one thing led to another,
and here I am making an episode about it.
Recently, I suggested using highly descriptive verbs and nouns rather than heaping up a bunch of adjectives.
For example, instead of saying the food was very good,
describe the experience of enjoying that food, using strong words like savored,
or, oh, here's a good one, scrumptious.
This can get taken a little far when you start using words
most people don't understand, such as crepuscular, for example.
I have no idea what that means,
and something about the texture of the word makes me uncomfortable.
In my opinion, skid-addled doesn't fall into this category.
It's an interesting, somewhat unusual word that sounds like what it means
and is commonly understood.
So, though it isn't frequently used, it conveys a lot of descriptive information.
That's your grammar minute.
Hello and welcome back.
you were listening to Radio Freehills, 1.1.7 FM Charger basketball.
Evan, what is the key for the Chargers to keep this 9-5 lead up?
So, Chargers are dominating in the size battle here early,
and they've shown that with a lot of down-low passes.
Some great passing down-low is really what's going to lead them to victory.
Easy lay-ups.
I mean, they've just gotten that backside, just a little touch pass over the defender,
and it's been working so far, and that's what they're dominating.
But Wall's coming out here early in the first quarter pressing now.
Full court pressure gets it into Annalise, Pitchvich.
Finds Lauren McDonald and the Chargers get past half court.
Just under four to play, nine to five.
Warren McDonald's setting up that offense.
And early, they're looking for Savannah Smith down low, just like we talked about.
Kendall McCormick stopped in the key.
We'll take the three ball, won't go offensive rebound.
Back down low, McCormick.
won't go another rebound off of walsh couple good looks there for the chargers couldn't get one to fall
so that's the first time we've seen it affect the game walsh as soon as that shot goes up since two players down
the court trying to get an early fast break and he'll still able to get an offensive rebound off of it
because somebody was left wide over chargers baseline out of bounds gets it in savannah smith
finds warren macdonald walsh in a two-three zone now switching things up on defense mcdonald attacks
through the middle and she's foul
Going to the rim there, attacking the weak spots to the zone.
Two shots for McDonald's.
Yeah, they usually say don't dribble through his zone,
but when the waves part, I mean, you've got to take the ball right through.
Definitely interesting to see them going to the zone.
As we mentioned, the size has been a huge factor in this game early and often.
Yeah, probably going to double team that post in that zone.
Trying to give up some more long-range shots.
First one for McDonald's up, no good.
Still 9 to 5.
Chargers, a lot of juice.
As you said, they've won at eight straight.
So a lot of energy from this team early.
Hot.
McDonald's, second one up and through your score 10 to 5.
Walsh coming back the other way.
They're going to get McCormick with a foul.
On the point guard, Rusky.
And no surprise there.
Kendall McCormick, Hillsdale's best defender,
but also probably Hillsdale's most aggressive defender.
Draws quite a few fouls, but also gets quite a few steals.
She's picking up pretty much full court on the point guard.
You don't see that too often.
Kind of a one-person press, but tight defense on Gracie Rekasey.
Walsh, looking for something here, finds their point card Rackacy.
Down low, they find Rory O'Hara.
Tough take there, won't go.
Rebound, Warren McDonald, and the chargers are back the other way.
Looking for a quick one.
McCormick, wing three, blocked.
Rebound.
Back out.
Laura McDonald. Tough take to the rim and she's filed again.
Yeah, I mean, one of these times she's going to get the N1.
She's getting a little push off to get the open shot.
She's not getting, you know, slapped around hard enough that she can't make that.
They're just rolling out.
Walsh actually really lucky not to have had N1 against McDonald's yet.
Checking in after a couple of fouls for Walsh, number two, Mallory, Odu.
And number 10, the Lydia Rimbold.
Yeah. McDonald's third best free throw shooter on Hillsdale.
First one is up and good, 11 to 5 with just under three to play in this first quarter.
She also has the most attempts with before this game at 53, probably now at 56, make that 57, and that one's good.
12 to 5, Chargers decide to pick up full court now.
Walsh, not ready for it at all. Kind of panicking, throws the ball away.
Stolen away by Lauren McDonald, Chargers looking to convert off the turnover.
Chargers up top.
Find that post touch to Savannah Smith.
Drives to the left with the left hand, and she's filed.
She's going to get two from the line,
and that's going to be the sixth foul on Walsh here early.
I mean, originally playing great defense,
but when that shot went up,
just a slap down on the arm.
Surprise pressure from the Chargers pays off,
checking in.
Caitlin Slein for Lauren McDonald.
And Smith, their best free throw shooter,
taking 29 free throws on the year.
so far made 25 of them first one it is up and good 13 to 5 here chargers expanding that lead with
good defense and making the free ones 238 to play second one's up and good
checking for the chargers number 24 Ellie Bruce your score 14 to 5 and the charges you're
going to stick with that full court pressure and Walsh beat it swings it over to rosski
the point guard trap at
Midcourt back to Roski.
She finds someone in the corner here trying to get that offense.
Mallory Odo will pull it back out.
Back to the point guard, Roski.
Back up top, just into the game, Lydia Ryebold.
Three ball for Walsh won't go.
Tipped out of bounds.
Off Walsh.
Another stop for the Chargers.
Yeah, it was a really deep three there.
Walsh is going to pressure here.
But you know what one thing is that's almost as important as how good you
Pressure is how fast you can get back into man defense.
And Chargers were seamless there, not allowing an easy basket.
Chargers check in.
Emma Rulman to inbound.
Full court pressure from Walsh.
Your score 14 to 5.
And the Chargers break the press.
Inbound goes to Splain, trap off of it.
Back to Rulman.
Finds Splean.
Deep swing to McCormick, and the charges break the press.
Back to Rulman.
Looking for a post-touchess of it.
Telly, Bruce.
Excuse me.
Stolen away by Walsh.
Number two, Mallory Odo.
Back up top, Tarakoski.
She'll take the three.
Won't go.
Out of bounds.
Goes to the Chargers once again.
Yeah, and you can see Walsh.
Right there, doubling the Big Man on Hillsdale
without that big size.
Star player for Walsh.
Sammy Kim back in,
trying to find some offense.
14 to 5.
Still chargers, inbounding the ball against the press, and they break it easily.
McCormick drives to the right, kicks it out to Rulman, back to Splain.
She'll take a three ball, won't go.
Tough rebound McCormick, taken away by Walsh.
Coming back the other way, Mallory Odo, she'll throw up a shot, won't go.
Rebound Splain, and they got numbers, four on five.
Splane, tough layup, won't go.
Rebound Ellie Bruce, she puts it up, and she's filed.
Once again, another rebound and another foul.
I mean, you can pick apart parts of this game pretty easily,
but he'll still really dominating on all ends,
except maybe the three-pointer because they missed a couple of them,
but even those, they've gotten great looks.
And with those great looks, too, a big thing for them has been the offensive rebounds,
getting those second chance shots and Walsh with another option with a foul.
Ellie Bruce to the line for the chargers, she's got two of them.
Still 14 to 5.
first one is up and no good
119 to play in this first quarter
yeah Ellie Bruce coming to this game was a 500 free throw shooter
18 for 36 as just a freshman
metrics don't lie she makes the second one
one for two 15 to 5
Chargers sticking with that pressure
Sammy Kim trying to break it
bad pass stolen away by ruleman
Chargers slowed up back to Lauren McDonald
another steal for the charger
Martin McDonald gets a screen from Roman, takes it to the right, hop step, left-hand and layup, up and good.
You score 17 to 5 under a minute to go.
Chargers continuing with this press.
Sammy Kim looking.
I mean, Hills those offense right now is good, those defenses.
Just phenomenal.
Chargers were to first stop.
Sammy Kim finds Alicia Trippett.
Her first time in the game, blocked away by McDonald, rebound Roman.
Great help there.
by McDonald. McCormick kind of got beat, was going to stay in front of her. It was going to be a
tough layup in the first place. And McDonald comes from the other side off of her man and just
blocks the layup. Speaking of McCormick, she gets a cut. Layup no good. A rebound back the other
way. Walsh looking for a transition bucket. Sammy Kim, trip it. Won't go. Rebound again,
Rulman. 14 seconds. The chargers can hold for the last shot here. 17 to 5. Five seconds to go.
McDonald going ISO drives tough take won't go
out of bounds
with 0.6 to go
we're going to keep it down here and the charges have to go for
a crazy shot here
nice little volleyball tip just put Maryland for this one
yeah it would be a good time for the volleyball player
at the rim Chargers have to
tip this one here
looking for something can't find anything
backdoor cut room and lays up good
what a phenomenal move
She just, she backs up to the three-point line.
This little swim move goes right underneath her.
Wide open layup there.
That makes your score 18 to 5 at the end of the first quarter.
You're listening to Radio Free Hilton, 101.7 FM, Charger basketball.
I'm Gordy.
And I'm Evan.
This is The Making of America from the Jefferson Media Group.
It is highly probable you never heard the name Whitcomb Judson,
but it is highly improbable that you don't use his invention every single day
and numerous ways. Born in Chicago in 1843,
Chudson turned out to be a natural born inventor.
Unfortunately, most of his inventions were unworkable.
That is all but one.
In 1893, he was granted a patent for his
closed-gathering locking device.
However, that device didn't catch on until 1918
when the Navy ordered thousands of them for their new flying suits.
And shortly thereafter,
the whole world were using Z.
Zippers. This has been the Making of America. I'm Michael Emerson, and you can visit us at
Jeffersonmediagroup.com. Hello and welcome back after that first quarter of play. You're
listening to Radio Freehocco, 101.7 FM Charger basketball. Heaven, what are the Chargers
doing right to have this 18 to 5 lead? I mean, playing phenomenal defense. Steels on press,
steals on surprise press. They've had two pressed steals and
I mean, just in their manned defense
are not letting up any easy shots.
There have been zero easy shots for the Walls Cavaliers
and no layups.
A couple of locked shots, no offensive rebounds,
to my knowledge for the Cavaliers.
It's one, one offensive rebound,
which still...
I mean, for the amount of shots,
they are shooting...
Cavaliers are trying to get shots in transition,
as you mentioned,
and they're not able to find that early.
Yeah, Hillsdale right now on pace
to put up 70,
four short of 80.
76 and Walson pace about 20.
Yeah.
Really just a dominant, dominant first quarter for Hillsville College.
I think the key for Walsh here is to try to find their leading score.
Sammy Kim held scoreless, I believe, to this point.
And it could be a difference maker if they get her going.
Walsh ball outbound to start.
Chargers enter in a little bit of a zone to start.
Tim finds Dredke.
Swings it back to Kim.
Looking for a shot. Kim will shoot a wing three ball. Won't go. Rebound McDonald.
Another shot for the Chargers. Looking in transition here.
Warren McDonald finds room and on a great backdoor cut. Layup blocked away.
Great block there by Dredke and the rebound to go with it. In transition, quarter three ball there for Sidney Lovickson. Won't go. Rebound McDonald.
Yeah, and I mean, backdoor cuts.
been a huge thing and they're going to get a jump ball there on the shot from
Samantha Smith kind of plot.
I'm going to stay with the Chargers here.
19 to 5 still.
Chargers is defense holding strong.
Backdoor cuts after backdoor cuts.
That's been their big point score because they have not shot the three balls super will,
but they haven't really needed it.
Tim Bowman McDonald finds Wilman in a little zone here from the Cavaliers.
McCormick swings it.
McDonald's three ball.
Won't go.
Tough rebound there by Sidney Lovexstead.
Back the other way is Dredkech.
Finds the Lovickston. Walsh looking for a bucket.
Bit of a scoring drought here.
Find Sammy Kim.
Over to Izzy Callaway, back to Kim.
Kim going to work on McDonald.
Great pass.
Good find.
Scored by Mallory Odo.
And the first easy basket of the game for Walsh.
Their score, 19 to 7.
Walsh scoring first here in this second quarter.
McDonald, coming back through the way, finds McCormick.
Looking for offense here. 18 on the shot clock.
Lauren McDonald.
Great cut again by Rulman gets into the post.
Good move. Floater won't go.
Tough rebound there by Dredkeen.
19 to 7 here.
Sammy Kim dribbles an offer foot.
It's going to be out of balance, turnover.
Ball to the Chargers.
19 to 7 of 822.
Just one of those simple mistakes.
Just dribbling the ball down the court
and it just bounces right off your foot and goes out of bounds.
Hate to see it.
Especially with the pressure the Chargers have brought,
I feel like that's what might have caused that turnover.
Just that tough defense.
Chargers back the other way.
Lauren McDonald, guarded by Lizzie Talloway.
Fines McCormick on the wing,
looking for a post-touch to Ellie Bruce,
stolen away again by Dredkey.
Back the other way,
Dredkey looking for offense.
Guarded by Ellie Bruce.
Fines Lovick sting in the corner.
Back to Dredkey.
Loving's thing on the wing,
tipped away.
McDonald returned to the offense.
Mallory Odo,
the 12 on the shot clock.
Looking for something.
Izzy Callaway,
in the corner, drives.
Trapped by the Chargers.
Three on the shot clock.
Gonna have to shoot something here,
and they won't get anything off.
Turnover on the shot clock violation.
I mean, just another excellent defensive drive.
It looks like nobody on Walsh wants the ball in their hands.
Not a lot of movement, just swinging it around the key, and 30 seconds of defense right there gets them to stop.
Nobody's taking anybody on.
Back to the press for Walsh.
McDonald, 19 to 7 here.
Chargers up still.
Warren McDonald, guarded by Izzy Callow.
Swings it over to Petra Zich in the corner.
Swings it around.
Back to McDonald.
Open three for Splane from the wing.
Won't go.
Rebound by Odo.
Coming back the other way, here comes Walsh,
Lauren Galasca spins, fouled.
It's going to be a foul there on Sarah Elliccan Navicus.
That sounds pretty good.
That sounds better than license.
That's my best bet at it.
Tough last name there.
Definitely some four in origin.
Yeah, I've asked her, and I just don't remember.
I asked her one time, I was like,
hey, how do you pronounce this?
Because I do your basketball games, and she said it to me, but I don't remember.
First shot at the line for Galaska.
Up and good.
Your score 19 to 8.
7 minutes to play here.
Second one.
Not going to find anything there.
Going to go back the other way for the Chargers.
19 to 8.
Pressure still coming from Walsh.
Rare air ball.
Free throw right there.
Don't see that often.
The Charger defense, I think, is it's in their head.
Even on the free throws.
Leonard McDonald.
Setting it up.
Find splen.
Finds McDonald's fadeaway in the mid-range good.
Ends the scoring drought on the quarter for the Chargers, 21 to 8.
And those fade-away shots aren't something you see very often in women's basketball,
but it's something you see from Lauren McDonald's a lot.
She's very comfortable in that aspect.
Great shot here.
Mallory Odo, trying to find the offense.
Lovickston, back to Odo.
Trying to back down Splain here.
Poms, Poms and she walked.
Turnover there.
the Cavaliers.
Yeah, I mean, she picked up her dribble,
and Annalise Petersetka came right from the other side
and added that double team to Caitlin Spleyne
and took one too many steps.
Chargers up 21 to 8, 630 to play in this half.
Caitlin Splain, tough defense.
Oh, what a move.
Chargers have the advantage in the half court.
Looking for a pass, back door, stolen away.
There by Lovigston.
Coming back the other way, she'll pull up a three ball.
Bang!
Pull-off three and transition is good.
Well, she's kind of been dominating here early in this second quarter,
but, I mean, not cutting the lead very much.
He'll still still playing some great defense.
Your score, 21 to 11.
Chargers is looking for a post-touch, find Ellie Bruce,
and she's filed on a great entry pass once again.
And she is still a 500 free-throw shooter.
Let's see.
Hoping.
She can increase that with this.
Yeah, go 505.
Yeah, we'll see what happens here.
Chargers up 21 to 11.
A little momentum here for Walsh.
A lot of turnovers for the Chargers here in this second quarter.
Ellie Bruce's freshman out of Lancaster, Ohio.
Much of Fisher Catholic.
And she is 6-2.
That's the size difference the Chargers have.
Her first one up at no good.
I think we know what that means for the second shot here.
It has to.
It has to.
Numbers do not lie.
The numbers don't lie.
The second one is up and no good.
Oh my gosh.
She's going to end to May 2 later.
Here's score.
21 to 11.
Tough take.
Walsh coming back the other way.
Tipped out of bounds there.
Great defense by McDonald.
Number 10.
Lydia Rimbled in for the Cavaliers her first time.
Trying to get a spark here.
Now Walsh wants to run it.
They also just got to slow down the pace there.
A better team defensively when the pace is slowed down.
Inside the Caroline guy.
and she steps out of bounds
the sophomore from Potoski, Michigan.
My neck, the woods.
Couldn't find anybody open.
I mean, nobody even looked like
they were trying to make a move
to get open off ball.
Another turnover for the Cavaliers,
21 to 11,
still bringing that pressure.
Chargers looking for a basket here,
Walsh in the man-to-man.
Annalise features it.
Finds a cutting,
Splane, blocked away,
rebound Ellie Bruce
swings it over
Caitlin's spain on the wing
looking for that post touch to Ellie Bruce she'll drive
to the right tough take got it
on the ground
another foul there by Walsh a lot early
I think it's really good
well first of all that's her furthered foul
so Caroline guy's gonna have to check out of the game
which is unfortunate because I think that she's their tallest player
yeah she's their tallest player that has had
at least significant minutes for them early on and
Like we said, that side, especially with Ellie Brousson at 6-2, makes it tough.
Hit Lys Blaine on the wing, drives to the right, pulls it back, balls loose.
She recovers, finds a cutting, Annalise Peterset.
Floater in the mid-range won't go.
Rebound to Dredkey.
Swings it over.
Tough drive.
Little pull-up mid-range won't go.
Shot there by Alicia Trippett.
McDonnell, taking it back the other way, your score, 21 to 11 with just under
or five to play.
Looking for a backdoor cut stolen away again by Dredke.
And then the ball's loose again, stolen away.
Good layup by the Chargers good.
Sarah Ella Conomicus.
That's what we're going with.
23 to 11 here.
Chargers up 12.
It was great awareness there by McDonald.
Took too big of a dribble and thought that she had all the space to go with speed.
But McDonald's just sitting there waiting for it.
Tough take there by Lovickston.
Won't go with a foul.
on Splane.
Score 23 to 11.
Two shots here for Sydney
Lovickston from
Crosha, Wisconsin.
It's going to take us to a media
timeout. You're listening to Radio

An effective ban on

F. F. Charter basketball. What has been the keeper Walsh to kind of cut to this lead a little bit at
23 to 11.
You know, they've been able to play the game at their pace for the last couple of minutes,
speeding it up, taking the ball.
I mean, Hillsdale is a 100 times better team on defense when everybody has a man in the
ball is just on the top of the keep.
100%.
Another thing is, as we mentioned in that first quarter,
Charters are looking for a lot of post touches, a lot more help side from the Cavaliers,
a lot of steals off that, especially the junior Emma Dredkey.
Yeah, going to have to start looking for.
looking to shoot some threes, get some pressure off the postman.
First free throw at the line for Sydney Levickson is up and good.
Second one is also up and good.
Your score 23 to 13, 10-point game, and the pressure returns on the Chargers.
Emma Rulman inbound gets the ball back at the half court.
Amurman setting up the offense, finds the freshman Magdalene Solarsky.
Back to McCormick, 14 on the shot clock, four to play in this half.
McCormick looking for a post touch, finds one to Petruset.
She spins, fade away in the mid-range, won't go.
Rebound Lovickston.
Sammy Tim in transition, finds Izzy Callaway, spinning on McCormick, looking for a floater.
Good.
Your score, 23 to 15, 8-point game.
A great shot there by the very short Izzy Callaway.
Chargers break the press.
Five, seven.
Magdalena, Solarski, the freshman.
Finds Kendall McCormick on the wing.
She looks to drive on Calloway, blocked away.
Another rebound goes to Wovickston.
High-paced offense, back for Walsh.
Pull up mid-range.
Calloway, good.
Your score 23 to 17.
A little run here from the Cavaliers.
And you're going to see some new players check in for Hillsdale right here,
and possibly even a timeout.
Bringing it up is Petra Zick and a foul there on Izzy Callaway after a nice little run
offensively and defensively for her.
Yeah, you're going to check in right here at Hillsdale.
Going to check in your two seniors.
Warren McDonald's.
Caitlin has mentioned checking in.
Slow the game down.
You're definitely more talented team.
Walsh speeding them up, three to play here in this half, 23 to 17.
The shortest in the lead has been in a while.
McDonald back in, finds Splane, looking for the post-touch to Savannah Smith.
Find Solarski.
Swings it to McDonald.
She'll take the three ball.
Won't go.
Balls batted around.
Rebound by Dredke.
Really interesting choice there for that really deep three early in the shotoff.
Back to Dredkey.
Walsh looking to really cut into this lead.
Drives on Savannah Smith.
Back in her down.
Dumps it down low.
Swings it back out to Lovic.
She drives stolen away by Splane.
Ball to McDonald.
Splane in transition.
Driving, can't find anything.
She'll take a deep three.
Off the rim won't go and another rebound for Lovickston.
Here comes Sammy Kim and the cavaliers back the other way.
Kim spins, layup, foul.
This right here is where the chargers either need to take a timeout
or call their best play.
Get the easy layup, get back on track.
Slow the game down.
Offense, a bit of a stall here for the Chargers.
Your score 23 to 17, Sammy Kim to the line.
2.13 to play.
First one's up and good.
Cutting that lead to 5 here, 23 to 18.
Get yourself like a nice little double screen, screen roll.
Something very, very simple.
Chargers looking for a little bit of spark
and as Evan mentioned,
Cavaliers love to get out and run,
get those rebounds before the Chargers
can set up that tough defense.
Sammy Kim for the line.
Second one is also up and good.
Your score 2319.
2319.
23 to 19.
2.13 play.
Chargers are looking to make it out of this half
at the lead.
Inbound, Lauren McDonald,
still with the full court pressure
are the Cavaliers.
McDonald's slows
it up. Chargers setting up their offense.
Rulman.
Screen for McDonald's.
Off her foot.
Retained by Rulman. She looks to drive.
Backdoor cut. Can't find anything.
Balls batted around.
On the floor, jump ball.
Possession to the Cavaliers and another stop.
A lot of subs in here for the Chargers.
Your score, 2319.
Minutes 50 in this half.
Yeah, got to get a set play in here for Hillsdale.
Very, very soon.
Starts on defense here.
Racy, Radiski.
And at point guard, Chargers looking for a stop.
Radiskee.
In the mid-range, pull up.
Good.
They're scored 23, 21 with a minute 30 to play.
Mark McDonald here.
The defense by the Chargers is, it's been worse, but it hasn't been bad.
It's been the offense as another turnover right there.
that has been the story of this second quarter for the Chargers.
Kind of falling apart over here.
Bad pass.
Off the hands there.
Turn over for the Chargers.
And Walsh, a chance to take their first lead.
23, 21, minute, 20 to play.
Radiski, looking, finds Dredke.
Her three-pointer won't go.
Offence rebound.
Radiske, blocked away by McDonald.
Rebound by Alika, Navicus.
And here come the Chargers back through the way.
McDonald, kickout.
lines peters it her drive spinning fade away midi won't go rebound the other way to mallory odo in transition radiske
collects layup won't go off the chargers stays down here with 52 seconds 23 21 yeah i think you're starting to see
just a little bit of frustration here out of the chargers really trying to go at pace when that's not their game
they need to get those backdoor cuts take a guy on one-on-one get some screens out here
slow the game down play their game
Radiske to inbound for the cavaliers
finds Dredkey back to Radiski who drives step back
mid-range high off the glass won't go
rebound McDonald
44 seconds in the half 2321
McDonald to Slein
back to Alcanavagus
Petrusik will pull a deep three
will go
Petrusik with a big three there
2621
The shot clock has been turned off.
Cavalier is going to get the last shot here of the half.
So a five-point game.
Not looking to take the lead, just looking to cut it out.
And finally, a little bit of momentum for Hillsdale
and a little bit of relief you could see as that three-pointer went in.
Radiski guarded tightly by Splane.
Eight seconds to go.
Radiski.
Looking, tough defense.
Ball is loose.
Corner three, Lovixton, won't go.
Offensive rebound.
Out of time.
Your score here at half, 26, 21.
You're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale,

I'm Gordy.
Hi, I'm Evan.
Hello, and welcome back.
You are listening to Radio Free Hillsdale,
101.1.7 FM, Charger Basketball.
Your score, 26, 21.
Late push there for the Cavaliers.
What was going for him?
I mean, they were definitely playing a little bit better offensively,
making a little bit more offball movement.
He also did look a little bit more tired,
but Hill still really kind of fell apart offensively and that was the story.
Wall started doubling that post, that little cut down pass and
Hill still hasn't made adjustments yet to it.
He'll still hasn't started shooting more threes, hasn't made out to the adjustments to it.
So when Hill still adjusts offensively, I think they're defensively bit easier.
For sure, the big three-pointer at the end of the half there by Annalise Petrazic,
but other than that, the Chargers kind of stalled out offensively.
We're scoring, what, seven points in that second quarter.
Could be key here in the second half.
See, the church gets some easy buckets, and then when you get easy buckets, you can set up the defense.
Yeah, you definitely have some plays drawn on for early in this game, hopefully.
Getting your best players, the ball under the basket, getting Lauren McDonnell, you know,
keyless playing.
Emma Rulman's actually had a great game, making some great backdoor cuts,
so we get her involved early on some set plays.
Yeah, when you saw the Chargers at their best, it was McDonald driving, getting foul,
chargers getting easy looks that kind of went away from it here,
but they'll get the ball to start this second half, looking to keep that windstreet alive,
see if they can.
Eight-game win streak.
At home here, Don who's on the arena, blue-out theme tonight.
The fans are in blue.
The students.
Scattered blue.
There's blue here and there.
We are back in at
Teno McCormick on the wing
Find Savannah Smith
Lord McDonald's screen
from Savannah Smith
Looking can't find anything
Splane comes off the screen
Pump fake three ball
won't go
rebound goes to Kim
And back the other way
She can't find anything
Swings it over to Callaway
Izzy Callaway back to Kim
In the high post there to Mallory
Odo
Swings it over to Dredke
She drives, dump in a Dredkee, lay up.
Great help defense, blocked away by McDonald.
Gets her own rebound, puts it up good.
Your score, 26, 23, early basket there by the Cavaliers.
Just kind of an unfortunate bounce for the chargers that bought a whole bunch of backspin on it after the block
and just ended up right back in Dredski's hand.
Looking for a post-touched to McDonald.
She drives, blocked away there by Dredski.
And I feel like we've been saying that name,
lot. Dredski with a lot of steals, a lot of shots. A lot of blocks. She's been kind of
everywhere, a lot of rebounds everywhere for the cavaliers early. Yeah, Hillsdale. Maybe look to
attack somewhere else other than where she's at. Inbound goes to Savannah Smith. She looks to
drive on the smaller Tim. Right-hand layup, good. Your score 28, 23 with 850 to play. Calloway
coming back the other way. Screen by Dredski out top to Glasgow. Swings it over to Calloway.
Jab step on Smith will pull the three won't go good rebound
Rulman tipped away and stolen
Big steel there by Galaska Callaway
Driving
finds Kim
Kim to the rim floater good
Now Rulman just didn't see her there
Got the rebound and just tried to underhand toss to McDonald
Not realizing that
Go running right across her face
We scored 28 25
Tight one here at Don Tibitz
Rulman looking for something here
Swings it to McDonald.
McDonald post-touch Savannah Smith, turns blocked away by Dredski again.
Coming back to the other way is Odo.
Driving on McCormick, backs her down, looking, throws up a shot blocked.
Fowl. Fowl there on Kendall McCormick, your score 28, 25, headed to the line.
Number two, Mallory Odo, sophomore guard from Green, Ohio.
Now, Odo only shooting 600 from the free throw.
Line, or 25 for 42.
So a lot of free throws taken, but not a great free throw shooter.
So she can cut the lead here to one.
Chargers did get that quick, easy bucket.
Haven't had much since, but good to see that for them.
Odo's first one's up and good.
The good news is no matter what happens here, you're still in the lead.
Still in the lead, make or miss.
You are still in the lead after the shot.
Chargers trying to go on a little run as they did in the first quarter.
Second one up and good.
Your score, 28, 27.
Slimest margin, it's been all night.
Since it was 1-0 at the top.
McDonald driving, kicks it out to McCorm.
Swings it to Rulman, back to McDonald in the mid-range.
She scans, finds Splein at the three-point line.
Tightly guarded by Odo.
Splane backs it out.
Mismatched down low.
Savannah Smith drives.
Left hand.
Good.
Left hand, hook shot good.
You scored 30, 27.
Just knowing that you have that mismatch,
defender switched,
and you got the size advantage with Smith.
On the corner, Callaway driving on Splane.
Fines Galaska.
Alaska has trouble with it.
Fines Oda.
Spinning on McCormick,
tough, right-hand of layup,
no good.
Might have been tipped, rebound McDonald.
30 to 27, charges.
looking to go on a little run.
McDonald, tough take a cheese foul.
As we mentioned before, the Chargers were at their best
when they were able to get to the rim and get easy looks.
A couple in a row there.
Subs check in for the first time for the Chargers.
Number 11, Sidney Panasset.
Yeah, drive the ball.
Drive the ball, pass the ball.
Get the ball in the paint whatever way possible.
And then when you have to, kick it out and get open threes.
But driving the ball and getting in the paint
is your number one priority as Chargers.
Great free throw shooter is Laura McDonald's.
her first one up and true your score 3127 was 7 to play in the third quarter
Chargers trying to have a little damage control after that big run to end the half
second one is up and no good tipped around McCormick goes for it and she's going to get another
foul physical defender looking to get the ball there and they're going to check her out after
that one her third yeah half to third quarter early third quarter you're going to want her
for the fourth quarter when that rolls around defensively
Unfortunately that she has three fouls.
I don't think very many other chargers even have fouls.
Chargers going with a little zone press here, trying to get its quick turnover in a bucket.
Kim, back to Galaska.
She's going to drive, kick out to Odo.
She's going to take it left hand, no good, rebound Penesic.
McDonald's coming back to the other way.
Chargers up 3127.
McDonald slows it up, swings it over, Petrazek, three ball, won't go, tipped around.
Balls loose rebounded by Dredski.
Wall's still going to go quick here.
Spinning layup, left hand, crafty finishes good by Galasca.
Player down here for Walsh, your score 3129.
She appears to be okay.
It's their leading score.
Sammy Kim.
Only a sophomore from Brunswick, Ohio.
She's going to stay in the game.
Love to see that after a physical take.
Kind of a friendly fire there by Glasgow.
Score 3129. Chargers with the baseline inbound.
Walsh continuing to press.
Yeah, kind of just got tripped up and maybe hit her head or hit her shoulder pretty hard.
It took her a second to get the win back in.
Warren McDonald, looking to drive, takes it to the left.
Great pass down though to Ellie Bruce.
She's followed on the layup at a great fine there by McDonald.
Yeah, followed from behind because, I mean,
McDonald had a beat.
McDonald had her beat.
Some great help defense, but an easy find to find Ellie Bruce.
And you love to see that for McDonald's.
Somebody who's so good at driving with both hands to have that awareness to dump it down low.
And like we said, Chargers getting some good looks, hoping to convert a couple of these.
And statistically speaking, these are both good.
These are already both good.
We're going to keep that 500 for Ellie Bruce.
Just a freshman from Lancaster, Ohio, Fisher Catholic, as we mentioned.
6-2 though and to be a freshman and to be playing in any college sport in any division very impressive very tough to do
first one is up and good as we have predicted charges expanding that lead see if she can knock in this one
that one oh won't go tough rebound out of bounds off petersick try to get that offense of rebound
Coach fans booing a little bit.
It looked like it could have been off either of them.
Good call on the end, going to the Cavaliers.
Your score, 3229, 6 to play.
Chargers continuing to press.
Open to speed up, Walsh, make them have another turnover,
which was so key in that first quarter for the charges to expand their lead.
Tim, down low to Dredski.
Dredke.
Back outside, finds Lovigston, her three-pointer.
Good.
And we are all tied up here at 32.
Two. First tie since 0-0. Post-touch, Ellie Bruce, floats one up and she's fouled again.
Want that double team as they have adjusted, but slapping down on the arms.
Yeah, and I mean, if you can get the ball in there before the double team comes out,
then either she can still take the shot or she can find somebody wide open and distribute it.
Another foul on Dredke, which could be huge theme in this game,
and she's been everywhere for the Cavaliers offensively and defensively.
Bruce's first one up in no good.
Still deadlocked here at 32 with 542 to play.
Bruce, second one is up and good.
33, 32.
Chargers sticking with that full court zone pressure.
Trying to make it hard for the Cavaliers.
Looking for a trap, they're not going to find one.
Cam at the top of the key, setting up the offense here for Walsh.
Down low, Rory O'Hara.
Looking to set a screen here.
for Lillia Rimbold.
Down low to O'Hara.
Trapped by the Chargers. Swings it around.
Corner by Lovickston.
Foot on the line. Out of bounds.
Turnover. Headed back the other way,
33, 32.
Chargers force out-of-balance pass, though.
Haven't a lot of them take the lead yet,
and not going to allow them to on that drive.
You want to get another basket here,
separate yourself, and so then they can't possibly take the league.
The leader of this team,
Lord McDonald, sent up that offense on kids.
Swayne to the corner to Panassik.
We're going to find that post-touch to Ellie Bruce.
Panassick dribbles out.
Finds McDonald's.
She looks to drive.
She'll take a step back three ball, won't go, pushed around,
and they're going to get a foul there on Walsh.
Great effort by Ellie Bruce to get that off into rebound.
They have no choice with the fouling.
Two hand shoved there, trying to get her off.
It's going to take us to immediate timeout.

Hello and welcome back.
We're listening to Radio for deals at 101.1.1.7 FM Charger basketball.
Your score, 33, 32.
What if the Chargers been able to do not allow Cavaliers to take a lead?
I mean, first of all, defensively, you've got to slow them down.
Because they are best on their fast break and on their fast-paced game.
Offensively, dribble drive.
I mean, they're double-teaming the post man,
but everybody individually has one-on-ones with the ball on their hand.
I think that Lauren McDonald is good enough to beat that one-on-one.
Chargers have an inbound, 453 to play, 33-32, McDonald to inbound.
Looking for somebody finds Splane in the corner.
Splane takes it out, finds Lauren McDonald, who looks the drive.
Post-touch, Ellie Bruce, up and no good, but another foul.
draws another foul she's drawn so many fouls to that two on that possession basically alone
and once again chargers key to winning is getting those post touches and they're getting them here
in the third quarter and in women's basketball there is no single bonus fouls reset every single
quarter and once you get to five in the double bonus charges in the double bonus right now
first one up and no good for Ellie Bruce a little bit of struggles at the line for the amount she's getting fouled
Let's see if she can knock home the second.
The second one is up and no good as well.
Tough rebound by Petraza.
She hits the hardwood there.
Tough physical collision going for that offense of rebound.
Yeah, they're going to sub her out right here real quick.
She seems to be all smiles.
And okay, they're going to get a sub for.
Great effort, though, once again, to get that offense of rebound.
Yeah, you have to come out after you hit your hat.
Have to.
in the NFL she'd be headed right to the blue medical tent as I say yeah and if you're just joining us
or if you've been here the whole time don't forget to stick around for the men's game right after this
little double double header here and the chargers are going to get a steal with that press
laurnenenenenene land hand lay up good your score 35 32 430 to play and just like that attack the lane
attack the lane you're a better team in the pants than they are
Press causing problems.
Get it across half court with Reimbold.
Corner three ball from Walsh won't go.
Rebound knocked around.
Rebound Rebound Reibold blocked away by Panasik.
Chargers back the other way.
Panasic looking.
Finds McDonald.
She finds Panasic.
I thought she was going to shoot there from the logo.
Almost a logo three there.
She wanted it.
Splane looking for something.
Find Savannah Smith.
McDonald's the 12 on the shop clock.
Post touch to Savannah Smith.
Kick out.
Solarski.
Offensive foul.
Got it with the push-off.
Chargers.
Looking to attack, a little too aggressive on that one.
Yeah.
I mean, I like the drives, though.
I like it.
I love to see it.
Haven't shot very well tonight when you have had open looks,
but just got to be a little bit less aggressive on your push-off.
Make it a little bit, you know, they don't usually call that if you're very gentle.
Yeah.
If you keep...
It's the extension of the arm that they look for.
Cavaliers back the other way.
Only down three with 3.30 to play.
35, 32.
Lovingston.
Fines the point guard.
Rasky won't go.
Rebound Salarski.
Walsh gets back on defense.
Chargers setting up the offense.
And Asick swings it to McDonald's.
Tries to find a post-touch of Savannah Smith.
And again, tough defense, Caroline Guy.
Yeah, she had Panassik rolling off the pick and Savannah Smith down there, but there remotes,
there are also two Walsh defenders down there, so she's able to find the middle.
Caroline Guy on Panassik.
Lines Lovingston trying to find something there.
Back up top to O'Hara.
Back to Radiski.
She'll take the three ball.
Won't go.
Out of bounds.
Another stop for the charges, 35, 32, with 252 to play in the.
this third quarter.
Yeah, I mean, Chargers looking a little better here.
Got some good looks, just haven't been able to hit anything.
And, you know, that happens in basketball.
That happens.
This is better than a team than they were in the second quarter.
Much better team.
100%.
And it's all about getting those stops on defense.
McDonald drives to the right.
Balls battered around.
They're going to get a foul there.
Might be the fourth on guy.
looks like they got Gulaski actually on that one.
McDonald with a tough drive again.
She's going to go to the line here.
They are going to call that in Gulaski.
McDonald, done a great job.
Shooting free throws on a night that they've had some struggles from the line.
100%.
And the jump shots really aren't falling for the Chargers.
First one is up and it's going to roll in.
36, 32.
Chargers slowly expanding that lead back to where it was.
Sozo's looking to keep that eight-game win streak alive.
make it nine
which would be
unbelievable
second one up and no good
rebound goes to
Galaski
Radiski going to take it up
the court 36 32 to 30
you got a two possession game here
for Hillsdale
with their lead
Radiske on the wing
finds Bruce
back up top
swinging it around Radiske
driving on Splane
right hand lay up good
big response there
36 34
A lot of switches on defense now for Hillsdale, a lot more than you saw in those first two quarters.
Alcanobagus balls tipped around.
Blaine can't find anybody stolen away by Radiske.
Coming back the other way, looking to tie or take the lead.
Calloway.
Dishes went down to Gulaski and she's foul.
They're going to have a chance to tie it right here with their two free throws.
The charges are going to go right back to Ellie Bruce.
Who's been a great player from them down low with the size advantage.
She's going to check in here.
Two shots.
for Gilleski.
We're scoring 36, 34, minute 50.
Exciting game coming down here into the fourth quarter.
Hillsdale, when I was here a couple months ago, they were struggling in the fourth quarter.
They would keep games close, keep games close.
They'd be win by one, losing by one.
And then they'd fall apart in the fourth quarter.
But this is a different Hillsdale team.
If one age straight, can't do that without playing great in the fourth quarter.
Kalaski's first one up in no good.
Second shot, going to find it.
36, 35.
Chargers, up one.
McDonald breaks the press.
She's going to draw a foul.
Yeah, and some argument with the ref, but that was definitely a foul.
It was definitely a foul.
She was running back.
You can't run into each other.
Galaskey's going to get another one.
They're going to favor the offense.
More times a nod on a physical play like that.
So let's see if McDonald can knock these in, expand that lead back.
The double bonus, as we said, because of the way women's basketball works.
First one's up and good, 37, 33.
Try to make a three-point game here.
He'll still have that 16-17-point lead in that first quarter, and it slowly squeezed down,
but Walsh has still not yet had a lead in the entire game.
Chargers seem to score when they need to most.
38, 35, minute 46.
Chargers able to set up the press after the make for McDonald's.
Press has been effective, see if Cavaliers can break it.
Radiski gets a pass half court.
18 on the shot clock, setting up that offense back into the game.
Redkey.
Caroline Guy driving on Alicanavagus.
Shot up, rebounds loose, rebound. Chargers.
McDonald looking to push here.
Yeah, haven't really got to see a lot of Caroline guys.
She had three fouls early in the first quarter.
And good job defending her by the Chargers.
Three-pointers, good.
Annalise Pitchie's a great possession from the Chargers.

Great shot there by McDonald.
Great rebound.
Kind of snuck underneath, got out in front of her man.
And a crucial basket right before the fourth quarter begins.

Last shot opportunity here for the Cavaliers.
Dredkey.

You're listening to Radio for Hillsdale 101.1.7 FM Charger Basketball.
438, what are the keys to keep this lead up for the chargers?
I mean, first of all, one great thing for Hillsdale is that there's more people here now.
You know, fans have started to show up.
You have the combination of the fans who are just coming to the men's game.
They're just showing up now and all the fans who are staying to the entire women's game.
So hopefully the crowd gets a little bit more into it and makes it more exciting fourth quarter.
It should be a great finish Chargers ball out of the quarter timeout.
Panassik on the wing finds McDonald's.
McDonald's screen for Panassick drives to the left.
Great pass again.
Find Savannah Smith won't go.
Gets her own rebound.
puts it up and good.
your score 45-38 chargers out of the timeout get one
yeah best thing for her chargers today is ben they're driving
ben getting the ball down in the paint any way possible driving passing

Hits off the head of three different players, and then falls in the hands of Warren McDonald.
Warren McDonald swings it to McCormick back into the game for the Chargers.
Post-touch, Savannah Smith, had to hold her.
Could have been a good look for the Chargers, but once again, another foul for the Cavaliers.
And probably the best player to draw a foul on.
He was playing absolutely phenomenal basketball tonight.
Dreske.
Emma Dredke.
Another penalty there on her.
Fannacic in the corner on the out of bounds.
Panasic looking to drive.
He takes one up to McDonald.
One-on-one, Hervers Lovingston.
Lovickston.
Trying to stay intact.
Odo.
McDonald takes one to the cup.
Fowled again.
Can't get that and one to fall tonight.
No, just can't.
I mean, it seems to roll around the basket every single time.
Chargers aren't going to complain about two early fouls in the cavaliers and a couple of great looks.
Yeah.
And setting some screens now.
It might have been like the second screen.
I've seen all the game for them setting for Lauren McDonnell.
I think they need to do more of that in this fourth quarter.
She's great off the bounds.
It's been a great job getting to the rim, finding her teammates.
See if she can expand that lead.
First one's up and good.
46, 38.
8.49 to play.
She has had a lot of free throw shots tonight.
Her and Ellie Bruce both.
I mean, a lot of work with the charity stripe.
Second one is also up and good.
Great to see a two for two there.
47.
38.
Yeah.
I was still expanding this lead to nine points.
Again, biggest lead since probably
that's middle of the second quarter.
Nice score.
They're able to set up that press.
Kim, able to break it.
She's back in.
Lovingston.
Swings it around, finds Rhinebold.
Down low.
Rimebold.
Take good.
Correction, that's Mallory.
Odo, down low.
47.
40.
And it was a great finish there.
I mean, she's matched up on.
Definitely has the size.
disadvantage that.
Charger offense, looking
to keep the scoring going.
Fines it open three for Spleyne.
Won't go. Balls bad around,
rebound. McCormick.
We're going to call it a jump ball. Maybe it could have been a foul
there. Going to stay possession to the Cavaliers.
So, Hillissel now, 7-point lead.
Eight minutes and 29 seconds left.
Sorry, eight minutes and eight seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Chargers up 47-40.
High up is able to let them set up the press here,
but Lovingston able to get it cross, half court.
20 on the shot clock here for Kim.
Cavaliers needing a basket.
They go to Dredkeam.
She finds Kim.
Kim on the corner.
Swings into the corner.
Tipped.
And it's going to be off the Cavaliers.
Great defensive play there by Caitlin.
Yeah, she was able to get a hand on it, kind of deflected,
and bounces off a wall's player.
going to be a turnover there haven't seen a lot of those in the second half for the cavaliers that's
able to keep them in it no yeah for sure your score 47 40748 to play in this fourth quarter should be a fun one
he gets it past half-court for the charges guarded tightly macdonald will call a play here
chargers looking for a big basket expand that lead tipped around back to fanassic she finds ellie bruce
in the high post, swings it over to Petersick.
She looks to drive.
Tough take off the right, good.
It's a great drive there in a great way to get herself squared up on the basket and had
the defendant on her back sides.
Then all she can do is either foul or watch that layup go in.
Your score, 49.40 now.
Walsh, looking to score.
Looks like they're going to get an off ball foul.
I'm going to call a 30-second timeout.
It's going to be a timeout here.

to play three timeout just then by Walsh.
What does Walsh have to do to cut this lead like they had and eventually take the lead for once?
Well, first of all, they have to rebound better.
Those definitely won the offensive rebounding battle here in this fourth quarter,
and they have to get those fast baskets.
They have to get the rebound in order to get the fast baskets,
but the fast baskets is what is going to get them back in this game with only seven minutes left,
but also only a nine-point lead.
It sounds big, but at the same time, it can.
very easily be cut down like that with just two three points you've seen them cut it down before and when
they were able to cut the lead it was a lot of quick mid-range shots actually haven't seen them back to those
very often but the mid-range is working well for walsh turnovers they're going to be able to speed that
offense up for the chargers and i'm looking at this shot chart here for hillsdale there are four
shots outside of the paint three three pointers and one mid-range two lovingston will take a three
out of the time out for walsh balls batted around
Out of bounds.
Going to go towards the Chargers.
Big stop there was seven to play 49-40.
Looking for a good look on the timeout.
Got one.
Couldn't convert.
Yeah.
Chargers also, the press has not really worked for either team this game very much.
Chargers had some success there in the first quarter when they surprised them,
those first two drives down.
But other than that, both teams have been able to get the press pretty easily.
Peter Jig will take a tough drive.
Rate lock again by Dredke.
The defensive.
doll work for these cavaliers she's been everywhere.
It's going to go out of bounds off her, though. Chargers basketball.
Yeah, I mean, great job by Petrusig, though.
I mean, you're keeping possession of this ball because she didn't just hold onto it all the way
to the floor.
Going to go into Petrozick here.
Chargers, you're looking to set up that offense with 13 on the shot clock.
McDonald's finds Bruce double team, finds Petruszic.
Down low to McDonald's, he's going to post up.
Tough take with the left, won't go.
rebound by Bruce and they're going to get her for one over at the back.
Just unfortunate.
Has really, really long arms there.
Just barely over the back, but enough to call it.
Great effort again on the offensive rebounds, as we mentioned.
But it's going to get her for one.
Her first, 49, 40, 6.30 to play.
Chargers trying to keep it a slow pace and kind of just drain the clock here.
And they put their best defender back into the game who has three fouls right now.
That's Kevin McCormick number 15.
She's going to guard Tim here.
22 on the shot clock.
Cavaliers need a basket.
Kim, looking to drive here.
Gets a screen from Dredkees.
She'll pull up the three ball and it's cure.
49, 43, six point game, six to play.
Cavaliers cutting into that lead.

three six minutes ago. Chargers have the ball
out of a timeout.
Big shot there from Kim.
Both teams still have three timeouts, but now
only a six point lead for the
Chargers. There's six minutes left.
That's a point for minute.
And in a low-scoring game like this, a three-point
shot like that, which is hard to find is huge.
Chargers here need to drive the basket.
Like I said, I looked at their shot graph earlier,
and they had four baskets
made outside of the game.
the outside of the paint.
Chargers inbound to McDonald's 49, 43, clock ticking.
Petrazek finds Wilman back into the game for the Chargers.
Looking for a post-touch to McDonald.
Back to Wilman up top seven on the shot clock.
Petrusick, download a Bruce.
She scans.
We're going to get a three second there on Ellie Bruce.
Rare call.
That rare call.
It's something that, honestly, everybody's going to paint three seconds once.
And if you're not looking for it, you're not going to call it, but she's been so dominant down
in the post that definitely had eyes on her. Coach might have said something. They call it.
49, 43, 540 to play. That's one of those things that usually you say it right after the coach calls it.
Tim, driving on McCormick. Tough take blocked away from McDonald's and they got it.
A big foul there on McDonald. A great helpside effort to block it away.
Yes, she definitely got the ball first. Definitely got the ball first. Did she make contact with the arm
afterwards on the follow-through. I'm not really sure, but I'm going to guess that's what they booked
down. Yeah, it could have been the body too, physical help side there, but a great play.
Didn't even look like a clear layup for Kim. Sted. She's going to get two.
Going to have to earn them here at the line. Yeah, and you'd probably much rather her be shooting the
two free throws than be having that easy layout. That being said, the first one's up and good.
49-44. 532 to play. Second one is no good.
Balls tipped around.
Rebound McDonald finds ruleman.
Chargers, looking to break this press.
McDonald does.
She drives, kick out.
Petra Zick three ball, open.
Rattles around, won't go.
Rebound McDonald.
Tough rebound, blocked.
Great block there by number 10.
Lydia Reimbold.
Cavaliers unscathed on that possession,
49, 44.
Yeah, very, very lucky to be unscathed in that possession.
Chargers had two opportunities there.
And the first one rolls around the room and the second one barely blocked.
Eye bowled on the rim, batted around.
Great defense there by McDonald.
Eight on the shock clock.
Tim drives on Petrusick.
Can't find anything.
Swings one.
Calloway keeps it inbound.
Three seconds.
Has to go.
Driving on Bruce.
Great.
Stop by the Chargers out of bounds just before the shock clock ends.
But that's the defense we saw in the first quarter.
I mean, it looks like that Dan Arlovsky where he walks out of the back of the end zone.
You were you just not aware?
that the shot clock was running down.
There was no sense of urgency at all.
Tough communication there from Walsh.
They're not going to be able to get a shot up.
49-44 with 4-44 to play.
Your score.
Still within five.
Mabaliers hanging around.
Donald, looking to break the press,
finds Petrusick.
She drives on Tim, gets by her.
Petrizik all the way to the rim.
Ticks one out, stolen.
Balls batted around.
On the floor,
effort by Emma Ruhman that's going to keep it with the Chargers.
Yeah, jump ball right there.
For the Chargers' sake, hopefully the last jump ball of the game,
because that one's going to stay in their possession.
Rulman's been a great energizer for this team.
Backdoor cuts, rebounds, effort plays.
Making a big difference, 49, 44, Chargers, baseline out of bounds.
See if they can get a basket here.
No, Hillsdale, not had their best shooting day from the free throw line,
shooting only 61% and not have their best day from the three point line only 18%
McDonald ducks one down to savanna smith back in on the mismatch turn around middy got her on the
arm number two there Mallory odo not happy about the call she had great positioning only 510
Savannah Smith much bigger but I mean great job from the chargers once again to find a post-touch
Yeah, and Hillsdale, when you have that size, you have to take advantage of it.
And they've done a great job of that all game.
First free throw, their best shooter, Savannah Smith, up and good.
50 to 44, 422 to play.
Chargers, once again, slowing that game down.
Second one is up in, rattle around.
No good rebound, McCormick.
She gets up with a good.
Great effort again by the Chargers.
It leads back up to 8.
52, 44.
Yeah, a huge, just effort play there by McCormick.
and I mean honestly a game changer
8 point game
3 possession game going late in this
4th quarter only 4 minutes left
could have been a 6 point game if they got the rebound
they couldn't Caroline guy swings
it over to Odo
Odo on the wing swings it
to Callaway driving on McCormick
looking great defense
tipped around rebound McCormick
and even if she didn't get that rebound
there were only 3 seconds left in the shot clock
the ball did not hit the rim
Chargers slowing the game down, almost stolen there by Caroline Guy, knocked out of balance. Chargers retained possession.
They've got to be careful. You have the lead, eight points late in this fourth quarter.
Just got to be careful not to give it up. Just got to be really careful with your turnovers.
52, 44, 3.42 to play. Clock continues to dwindle on the Cavaliers hope to snap this winning streak.
For the Chargers.
The Cronick on the wing, Rulman swings it to Splane back in.
Coast touch Savannah Smith.
Physical catch. Turn around.
Won't go. Balls batted around.
Great effort for the offense of rebound.
Won't get it to go. Rebound. Kim.
Still a great look there by the Chargers, though.
Finding those inside points, which is, like we said,
they were two of them in dominating all game.

Quick foul on Lauren McDonald's Cavalier's ball.
Base line out of bounds.
52, 44, three minutes.
They have to press here.
Caroline Guy, nice move.
Blocked by Savannah Smith.
She got beat, but a great play.
A great block from behind.
Just reaching over.
Not following at all.
I mean, an extremely clean block.
keep from the easy layout.
Inbound, Caroline Guy finds Kim.
Tim to Guy, swings it over Callaway, driving on McDonald, gets it.
Left-hand layups, good.
5246-247 to play.
Chargers continuing to lead.
McDonald, Tim's rider down the court there.
Yeah, easy foul call there.
put shoulder kind of down into her
and that's a tough one too
you're always taught you've got to try to cut them off
you can't just ride hip to hip
with the offensive player like that
not in the bonus yet

Hillsdale's Griffin.
They get a quick one there.
Chargers, we're going to respond.
Only up four now.
Ellie Bruce, to McDonald.
It's a screen.
McDonald looks to attack.
Gets to the paint, kick out.
Petra's League three ball.
Off the rim won't go.
Rulman, tipped around.
We're going to get a foul on Rulman, I believe.
Went in for the rebound aggressively.
Odo, down.
Seems to be okay.
Yeah, the good thing for Hillsdale is that that's only their fourth foul,
so we'll also not be getting two free throws on that rebound.
Both teams with four fouls, one, 53 to play, 52, 48.
We got a nail-biter here at Don Tibbitts to keep the streak alive.
Kim, looking, finds Calloway.
Calloway looking for a post-touch to guys.

ball is tipped. It's going to go towards the Cavaliers.
And they're going to review it, I believe.
Getting a lot of booze here. And the other ref is saying, hey, let's review this one.
Let's see if we got that one right. Very big call here.
With only a minute left, he'll still have four points.
It is a huge call here, depending on which way it goes.
One ref had it for the chargers, one with the Cavaliers.
We're going to take it to the booth here with a minute on the dot to play 52-48 chargers again.
like we said, trying to slow the game down and escape,
but that high-powered offense when they're in transition for Walsh.
Yeah, it was still here.
If they have the possession, you want a two-point basket.
You don't want to go for the three.
Haven't been shooting well all-game.
Get something you know you can get or get something and try to draw a foul.
It's even a five-point game.
Neither team has shot well from three tonight.
Even a five-point game would be huge and possibly too much to overcome
in this 52 to 48-point game with such a little.
scoring. And a big thing too, if it is the other way, and it is Walsh basketball, I like the idea of
the Chargers pressing and taking a lot of time off this game. If they're able to set up that
press, maybe take 15 seconds off the shot clock, that could be huge in a game with only 60 seconds left.
And you're going to see Savannah Smith check back in here because both teams have four fouls,
which means one more gets you the team in the double bonus. And Savannah Smith, their best
free throw shooter. So you got some of their best free throw shooters out there.
Once again, another, a great rebounder as well for the Chargers.
Any miss for the Cavaliers you want to secure.
No second chance points because, I mean, that's what the ball gets batted around
and could be an open three.
Yeah, the good news for the Chargers is nobody on the court right now is even in foul trouble.
Yeah.
For the Cavaliers, you have Caroline Guy in foul trouble, but I believe that that's about it.
And I don't think she's in the game anymore.
A lot of fouls, but I think they've been very spread out on both teams.
They're going to give it to the Chargers here.
Huge call.
20 on the shot clock.
Baseline out of bounds.
McDonald's to inbound.
Can the Chargers find a basket here?
Inbound goes to Savannah Smith.
This is probably your best play right here.
McDonald, scanning, post-touch.
Savannah Smith.
Balls batter around.
Ruman gets it, drive.
Pump fake.
Great move.
Lay up good.
I mean, just in the...
All around phenomenal game for Emma Rulman.
Made cuts.
He's done a lot of that gritty, dirty work, getting rebounds.
And right there, she gets the basket.
That might have been the dagger.
Coming back the other way, 33 seconds left.
Chargers playing defense.
Looking for Odo gets it good on the hookshot.
Timeout Walsh.
54.50.
Fans complaining.
It looks like the clock may have ran a little long there.
I think that they're resetting some of the clock right there.
That's what the ref was signaling to.
Looks like it's a lot.
It's going to go back to 27.8.

Chargers up, 28.6 seconds, their ball out of bounds.
Going to see a press, I'm sure, for ball.
Yeah, have to beat the press.
It's going to be all-out, man pressure.
Been able to beat the press all game.
No problems yet.
But obviously, this is going to be a different kind of price.
It's going to be aggressive.
Don't let the ball even get inbound and press.
Yeah, and they're not going to be afraid of foul either.
They're going to go for every steal they can.
And if you're the charges here, just take care of the basketball.
You have timeouts if you need to call one.
Take care of the basketball because the turnover into a layup could be detrimental,
making it a two-point game.
Yeah, you probably want to get the ball.
Inbound into Lauren McDonald, a player who's been in these kind of situations,
and you know that she's your All-Star and Great Free Threatrow shooter when she gets fouled.
It's going to be a sideline out of bounds.
Chargers to inbound.
They find McCormick.
They're going to get her.
She's going to go to the line here in the bonus.
Free throw shooter here.
They need these.
Trying to make it.
Honestly, it might be too much if they can make it a six-point game.
Yeah.
Going to need two threes, which, like we said before,
threes have not come easy in this game at all.
And with Hillsdale's great defense,
I mean, even if you can find,
even if you're trying to get up two shots,
those shots aren't going to be easy shots.
One thing that is in favor of Walsh here, though,
is the struggles at the,
the free throw line for the Chargers.
If they're unable to knock a couple of these in,
this game could be flipped on its head here with 27.5.
Referees having some discussion about who's on the floor for Walsh.
McCormick, 66% free throw shooter.
She's only shot.
I'll check that.
She shot 50 on the year, so definitely seen the line a lot.
First one is up and no good, though, off the front of the rim.
The second one, just as important.
more important because then you can get back and set in your defense.
Chargers could look to press as well. Take time off that clock.
Second one up and is good. 55-50, 27.5. Walsh, going to set up their offense, timeout.

Baseline out of bounds for the Cavalier is one thing that Evan and I noted in the timeout there
is these totals well under for each team.
Walsh averaging round 66 points
Chargers averaging around 70
and especially in their last couple wins
every one of them has been
over 70 points
Yeah I mean a very defensively minded game
And a game where shooting has not come
Very easily. Baskets have just not fallen
for either team especially at the three point line
Cavaliers get it in 25 seconds looking for a quick basket
Calloway on the left wing gets a screen from Dredkey
Drives it tipped around
back out Dredke
Caroline Guy drives it
wasting time and she's going to
step out of bounds
needed a shot up there
14.4 seconds left
Emma Roman going to check in here for the Chargers
yeah to be honest that might be it as long as you can get the ball
and bound as long as you can get the ball in bounds
it's going to be timeout Chargers once again

Hello, and welcome back.
You're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.1.7 FM charger basketball chargers.
Out of bounds.
I'm able to get it in.
They're going to foul.
Petra Zick.
She goes to the line for two with 11.8.
55-50. Chargers, just no fouls, no easy buckets.
Make these and get out of here with your ninth win in a row.
Yeah, I mean, these two free throws would be really, really nice.
But even if you miss both, you're in a great spot.
And if you miss that one, the way that the charges have rebound on free throws,
the ball getting batted around even, just wasting a lot of time.
First one is up and good, 5650.
Petrusik had a nice game, probably their best shooter today.
Cool three's, second one,
and pure as well.
I was going to use their last timeout,
down 7, 11.8 seconds left.
So we're going to go to a short break.

Hello and welcome back.
Roeson-Nor.7 FM.
Charger basketball.
Definitely a unique time out there for Walsh,
trying to get something,
not giving up on this game,
even though there's 11.8, they're down seven.
Yeah, down 7, 11.8 seconds left.
They just really don't want to go home yet.
And you know what?
You got to respect that,
trying to end this charger streak.
Inbound goes to Kim.
I mean, you would have already hadn't have
gotten a shot off and they're going to turn it over there
Callaway out of bounds 7.4
all the charges need to do is
dribble that out here and they're going to walk
they're going to walk out of
here at home with
their ninth win in a row
it's looking like Chargers are going to win nine in a row
hot now
playing the best team probably
in the conference but they just
beat the team last week that beat
Ashland which was Northwood
so it should be a competitive game
I mean, all signs show.
Ashley not quite as good this year.
And they're going to be fouling.
Riffs did not want to call a foul there.
The refl is sitting there for about five seconds saying, no, no, no.
Yeah.
But, I mean, you have to call a foul eventually.
You have to call a foul eventually four seconds.
McDonald's going to the line may look a little better on the stats sheet for her.
59, 50 if she makes both.
But, I mean, that charger team from that first quarter, part of the second quarter,
was really what you want going into a game against Ashwell.
And even this fourth quarter,
Charter team played great.
Never gave up the lead in this game from one to nothing on.
5850.
Donald makes the first.
You had two ties there in the middle.
Got a little bit dangerous, but never gave it up.
Sign of a good team.
McDonald drains both 59.50.
Four seconds to go.
No files here.
Cavaliers aren't going to shoot it.
That's going to do it, folks.
We appreciate you guys tuning in for the Charger.
The woman's team, ninth win in a row.
Stick around for the men's game.
Me and Reid will be on the mic.
