Welcome to 101.1.7 Radio Free Hillsdale with Charger Basketball. My name's Colin.
I am Gordy. Welcome back to a beautiful, beautiful game in Dawn Tipus Potter Arena.
We have the Hillsdale Chargers facing up against the Wayne State Warriors, in-state rivals.
Should be a real exciting game. Wayne State traveling up here from Detroit.
are Lady Chargers at home?
Should be an exciting one.
Absolutely.
And, you know, the Lady Chargers are looking good, looking dominant.
You know, the thing is,
Wednesday Warriors, by the way,
are at a record of 1 and 2 while the Hillsville Chargers are 2 and 2.
So really pivotal game here.
We'd love to see we've got a win here at home.
Yeah, early non-conference game, you know,
doesn't mean anything necessarily for the G-MAC,
but it's important to get wins, especially at home.
Yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
And, you know, see this team warm up,
It just seems to me that it's a well-coached team.
I predict a beatdown.
Sure.
Yeah, I would love to see that for the Chargers.
Absolutely.
First Woman's game I'm here for, so I'm excited to see how they do.
Yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
Chargers are without a couple of players today, but we will see.
Absolutely.
As we line up here for the National Anthem, we will be taking a 30-second timeout break.

Two sophomores, two seniors and a freshman.
Pretty rounded out.
Very much.
I mean, I think, as far as,
ages ago we have a pretty good
rounded out with the Chiru.
Bright future for the charges but there's a bright
right now for the charges and I'll tell you what this is an exciting
game. I'll tell you what, it should be
an exciting start to the
non-conference against Wayne
State. Good little crowd here, I'll say it, for a 530
Wednesday.
It's definitely tough for families coming to see their kids
play. Yeah. But for a lot
up for a 530 game it's great to see this many people out there.
Love that. Chick-fil-A game, that's huge.
Yes, absolutely.
Absolutely. As Savannah Smith goes up against number 13. Pardon me? Taylor Thompson. Taylor Thompson for the tip.
Here we go. Charger tip off Savannah Smith on Taylor Thompson. As Wayne State gets the tip.
Number 21, McKenna Ferguson brings the ball up and swings at the top of the key to number 23.
Shea Tripp. Who's up for a lamp? No good. Not going to go.

Top of the key.
A lot of screen and rolls to Annalise.
Top of the key.
A lot of roles.
Sarah for three.

Three-pointers.
Sarah Alka Venetius.
The freshman from Wisconsin.
Big three-pointed open up for the Chargers.
Absolutely.
Number 15.
Gabby Luchka with the ball driving in,
trying to find her buddy, trying to find her buddy, Shea Tripp as Taylor Thompson has the ball at top of the key.
Driving in.
Swings it over to Gabby Luchka.
Gabby Luchka for three, no good.
Rebound.
Savannah Smith.
Off the front of the iron there.
Chargers going back the other way with Lauren McDonald.
Annalise gives it to McDonald's trying to find a way in.
Sarah Alcavenatius up at the top of the key.
Back to Lauren to Anelisse.
Trying to get that penetration.
Another three-pointer.
Three-pointer.
Off the mark.
Top rebound.
Fowl going to the Chargers.
Offensive board by Sarah Alca Venetius.
As McCormick has the top of the key, looking to kick it down to Savannah.
Fick passes and drives, no good layup.
Rebound.
Shea Tripp.
Warriors have a stout defense here so far as Shea Tripp drives on Savannah Smith and makes it.
That's going to be the first buck of the game for the Warriors.
Three to two here early.
Chargers up.
Good defensive game.
McDonald has it against Taylor Thompson.
Oh.
Oh, foul.
Reach and follow McKenna Ferguson.
The 5'7 sophomore from Granville, Michigan.
Shout out.
Chargers will inbound on the right wing.
Kendall McCormick to inbound.
Yeah, Kendall McCormick.
Looking to kick it to a ruddy.
Lauren McDonald,
McDonald resets the top of the key.
Kicks it to Alkavenetius.
Who gives them back to McDonald?
McDonald shoots a three.
No good.
Rebound.
Gabby Luchka.
Wayne State.
One the other way for Wayne State in transition.
Fakes the three.
corner swinging around getting it down low buck is no good foul on the floor on number three of
hillsdale Lauren McDonald it's gonna be the first foul for the chargers good dump in there to
number 30 Taylor Thompson center I mean luckily they called out on the floor because that looked like
an A&1 to me as it's inbounded to Shea trip to Alyster has been quiet number 15 shoot
to three Gabby luchka good from three as the charges on five to three
with seven minutes left in the first period.
Lauren McDonnell with the ball,
kicks it to Annalise.
Trying to get a download to Savannah Smith, posting up.
Alcavenatius to Piazsche.
To Savannah Smith, who goes up and under?
No good. Rebound.

Rebound, Taylor Thompson, who swings it to Gabby Luchka, driving up court fast break, puts it up no good.
Rebound.
Number 14.
Ali Shanega.
And one for the Warriors.
That's going to be number 30.
Taylor Thompson took that one and drove to the hoop and was able to get the N-1 there.
Tough bucket.
Tough bucket for the Warriors.
They're going to get the foul on, I think, 23.
there for the Chargers.
It's going to be Anneliese.
And I'll tell you what.
As number 13 for Wayne State, Hillary Griffin.
I think one thing to check in and notice early is the transition for the Warriors there,
getting out and running, especially Taylor Thompson number 30 at the line here.
Absolutely.
The bucket and the foul is good.
It's going to make your score 8 to 3 with 6 to go in the first quarter.
And I'll tell you what, this Wayne State defense has a stout up front.
I mean, they're not much perimeter, sorry, not much penetration.
from the perimeter as the charger swinging around swinging it down to Ellie Bruce.
Ellie Bruce is a nice lay up under the basket as Alyssa Leicester takes up the ball
kicks it to Taylor Thompson the top of the key she's looking to swing the ball
dribble-hers the Hillary Griffin what trying to feed it down low to Taylor Thompson
she goes to work up with a shot no good no good tie up jump ball will be
Possession error is going to be Chargers ball.
Good effort there by Ellie Bruce to get down there.
One thing to note early I am noticing,
number 30, the center.
Taylor Thompson is guarding our point guard early and often.
Yeah, I wonder if that's just because, you know,
she's their best athlete, just trying to put best athlete on best athlete.
You don't know, maybe she's, I don't know, an all-round player.
Speaking of guards, checking in for the Chargers, number four.
Magdalena Sularski.
The freshman from Lamont.
Illinois Bennett Academy. And believe it or not, there's two of Sularskis and they are identical
twins. As Annalise gets a ball at the top of the key, he won't go. Puts up a shoot, shot and doesn't go.
Great effort by Bruce. Beautiful effort as Kendall McCormick drives, kicks it out to Alika Venetius.
Alka Vinicius drives, puts up a blam, no good. As number 14, Ali Shinaga with the rebound.
Chargers are getting good looks. Just got to come, got to finish those early.
As Taylor Thompson kicks it out to Shinaga.
She kicks it.
It's number 15. Gabby Lucia for three.
No good, as there's a foul on the floor.
No, it's going off the top of the backboard there.
They're going the other way for the Chargers.
Again, like I said, Chargers are getting good looks here.
Trying to pass the ball around getting some good looks.
Just got to finish those early.
I'll tell you what.
For the Warriors, Taylor Thompson's a player to watch here.
She's playing center on offense when it's looking like she's guarding point on defense.
It's definitely a hybrid type of player.
Yeah, that's special for them.
She's running the floor, guarding the point card.
not easy to do.
Out of bounds off the Warriors.
Chargers are going to take it out of bounds.
Kempomark.
Sularski, the top of the key.
Look at the pass to her buddy,
Aleka Venetius.
As she swings it to Anley's Petrazek.
Who has the top of the key,
McCormick, driving, trying to get a bucket,
puts it up no good.
No foul.
And it's going to go off of Wayne State,
Charter basketball, as Emma Rulman subs in.
And we'll be going to go to a little break here.
You'll send a radio free Hillsdale,
101.7 Charger basketball.
I'm Colin. I'm Gordy.
And we'll see you after the break.

Welcome back to Charger Basketball on Radio Freehills at 101.7 FM. The Chargers are imbounding it under the basket,
Sularski passing in. Still five to eight. Chargers down three with four, 45 to go.
We got Emma Rulman and kicking to Ellie Bruce.
Swings to McCormick, who's driving. Two on the shot. No good. As it stays with the Chargers out on
Wayne State. I think they're going to call a shot clock violation here.
It's probably going to go towards the Warriors. I think clock expired.
They might give them just enough time to get one shot off off the inbound, but
might be going the other way, folks.
We'll see here.
Martin McDonald's at the scores table.
Yeah, the leading Chargers scores.
She's a player to watch for the Chargers.
Electrifying player.
And yet prolific.
They're going to call, oh, they're going to take it to the review booth.
As they take it, the Review booth will be seeing you.
after the commercial break,
radio for Hillsdale 1.7,
charger basketball.
This is the Making of America
from the Jefferson Media Group.
The year is 1842
and a patient is about to have a tumor
surgically removed,
but for the first time in history,
it will be done painlessly.
Born in Macon County, Georgia,
Dr. Crawford Long was a surgeon
and a pharmacist who had experienced
the brutality of performing surgery
without anesthesia.
But all that was about to change.
He administered Sefurture,
ETHRIC ether on a towel and had his patient breathe through it. And to the delight of everyone,
especially his patient, the operation was painless. Dr. Crawford-Long had discovered anesthesia. In 1845,
he used that same method on his wife during childbirth. And it must have worked because she bore him
12 children. This has been The Making of America. I'm Michael Emerson. And you can visit us at
jeffersonmediagroup.com.
I'm sweaty.
Oh, for us.
Welcome back to Radio Freehills Zone 101.1.7 Charger basketball.
Still here with Gordian Collin, as they're still in the review,
seeing really what's going on.
I mean, it seems like a long decision.
Referees love to get a right, and I love that from the referees.
Shout out to the referees.
And I think even if they do give this to the charges here,
there's going to be very limited time in the shot clock,
and they're going to call it violation.
Going to Wayne State.
I think that's the right call.
It looks like the shot clock ran out.
would have been tough for the church to get a shot off.
Here we go.
Wayne State to inbound.
Number 13.
Hillary Griffin at the point.
The kid from Jackson, Michigan, Parma Western, Parma John Western, if that might be the full name.
Kind of a local game for her, Jackson, not too far away.
Not too far.
She kicks it to Taylor Thompson, who looks like she wants to put up a shot on Emma Rulman,
as she swings it out to number 21.
McKenna Ferguson.
Good, left-handed bucket.
Yep.
Tough finish inside there by
Chargers are getting good
Penetation on the Chargers
as McDonnell takes up the ball
and kicks up the ball and kicks up to Ruleman.
Case for Petra Zick.
Backs with Salarski.
Really just swinging around the top of the key.
McDonald to Rulman.
Trying to get a post touch in there to Bruce.
Picked away by Hillary Griffin.
Tries to save it out of bounds off Rulman
and it looks like it's going to go towards
Wayne State.
It looks like she did.
Oh, they're going to call a foul there on Rulman.
As Ellie Bruce subs out for a
Savannah Smith.
Savannah Smith, the kid from Liberty Township, Ohio,
Lakota East, like Dakota without the D with an L,
just for pronunciation purposes.
As Alyssa Leicester takes up the ball,
McDonald's guarding at the top.
You got Ferguson with the ball.
Taylor Thompson's hanging his screen rolling
as kicked down to Thompson on Szilarski in the faint.
Tough mismatch.
They're going to call it on the ground, though.
Fowl on Silarski.
They're going to get her...
Oh, no, they're going to call it.
offensive foul. They're going to call the hook on Thompson.
Try to wrap around there.
Get a nice little layup.
Good call there.
You don't see that call often where the post player gets one on offense for a hook.
I love the rest here.
I shout out to refs everywhere.
As Petriezeg has the top of the key, we're going to find McDonald.
Because we're going on, again, Taylor Thompson playing every position, really.
Donald wants to put up a shot as she does.
No good. Rebound.
Gabby Luchka, as Gabby Luchka's dribbling.
trying to find her buddy Taylor Thompson.
As Taylor drives on McDonald, puts up a shot and it's good, left-hand of the layup.
She's driving with ease, Taylor Thompson.
Story of the game right now is Taylor Thompson on both ends of the floor.
As a ladybug just flown to my desk, as Petrusick drives in and kicks it out to Solarski for three.
As she shoots and is no good.
Petrizzerick gets the rebound, puts it back up, no good as Smith gets the rebound.
Fowl on the floor.
I think that's going to be on 42, McKenzie Miller.
Yeah, but it's going to be a block down low.
Chargers is going to inbound it.
Checking in for the Chargers is Kendall McCormick and Sarah Alevetchkus.
Yeah.
This ladybug is still on my desk.
I'm going to leave it there because it's just watching Charger basketball.
And what else can we be doing but watching Charger basketball?
I'll tell you nothing.
Score is 5 to 12 Chargers down early with three minutes left.
Ruff's going to talk about time here, I think.
Big Chick-fil-A night here at Dawn Pippets Potter Arena.
Yeah, and it's starting to fill up nice.
Great crowd here.
530.
See some football guys over there.
I see the Affelter Twins.
Big shout out to them.
Big shout out.
Had a fantastic career with the Chargers.
See what they're going to call here.
A lot of discussion.
As the discussion is over, Lauren McDonald gives it to Alka Venusius.
We're swinging around the top of the key as Lauren McDonald has the ball.
She's looking to find.
And kickball violation.
Chargers are putting a huge emphasis on trying to get it down in the pain.
Early, that one was intended for Savannah Smith,
down low.
I'm trying to get that post touch.
Alyssa Leicester of Wednesday with a kickball violation.
Good time for the charges going on an offensive run with Taylor Thompson,
checking out for the Warriors.
Taylor Thompson out, McKenzie Miller and the junior from Schoolcraft, Michigan.
Another close.
Close player here.
Alka Venutius kicks it out to Petrazek who shoots a three.
Nice.
Right up with three for the charges.
And Elize Petrusick with a huge three.
Chargers needed that.
And the T-shirts are getting thrown out here.
Don Tibbitts.
Oh.
Oh.
Alika Venousis will just have been in the block McKenzie Miller in the paint as it's called a shooting foul on Alka Vinutius.
Tough call from our angle looked like all ball but got her on the arm.
Mackenzie Miller to the line for two.
Like we said, the Chargers looking for offense where they can find it here early.
As you know the Warriors, they're banging free throws.
It's just a beautiful, beautiful part of the game to be able to knock down free throws.
So we're an understated part of the game.
Your center can make free throws.
that is huge. She makes both.
Makes both free throws. Alka Venusius passing into McDonald.
It's going to make it 8 to 14. Chargers
down 6 with 2.30 left.
Lauren McDonald.
To McCormick, to Petrazzarzyk,
slicing it into the lane, but kicks it out to McDonald.
Back to Alka Venusius.
McCormick, top of the key.
It's really trying to find it down to Savannah Smith in the paint as they can't.
Ball kicked away.
Back to McCormick.
As McCormick drives in.
And one.
And one bucket.
The Chargers, 10 to 14 with two minutes left in the period as Mrs. McCormick.
Huge and one there.
Tell you what, Savannah Smith being out is two straight buckets for the Chargers.
Haven't seen that all game.
That's going to be a huge trying to get three points.
The old-fashioned way.
Old-fashioned way.
Before the big old three-point line was invented, huh?
Yep.
Going back to the fundamentals here.
Tempt that the line is good.
That's McCormick makes a free throw.
Yes, yes.
11 to 14.
Chargers down three have cut the lead in half.
Alyssa Leister with the ball.
McCormick on defense.
As she kicks it to her dear buddy, J.C. Tubergen.
The charges have gone to a zone here.
A little two, three.
I wonder if they're doing that around the fact that Taylor Thompson's out.
As Alyssa Lyster is in the corner,
swings it all the way across court to number 21.
McKenna Ferguson, he puts up a shot.
That is the weak spot in the two-three zone.
The corner three.
McKenna Ferguson for three for the Warriors.
As the charges down six points, 11 to 17.
Minute 40 left in the period as McDonald takes the ball.
Good take.
Good, finish with the last.
Great left-hand layup.
Once again, Samantha Smith, not there,
and they're going to throw it out of bounds.
Warriors trying to get something in transition.
Aaron Pass, going the other way.
As Panasic subs in for Annalise Petrazik.
A lot of P-Names.
Yeah, the sophomore from Dexter, Michigan, near Ann Arbor.
As Alika Venusius.
Let me, let me.
Let me say something. I think I'm in Browsy this wrong. It's Alika Navitious.
Ah, yes.
As Panasic swings it to Alika Venetius.
At top of the key, who kicks it down to McDonald's in the paint.
She's a little fadeaway jumper. No good. Rebound.
Rims out.
Number 20 of Kenna Ferguson.
And she kicks it to Lushka.
Back to Tubergen.
Toluchka at the top of the key.
He wants to get it down to number 34.
Number 34 for Wayne State Zamaria Polk.
Shoot to lay up no good as Kenna McCormick.
Fast break opportunity takes a ball.
Chargers are going the other way. Panastic for three. Bang! Huge Panassic for three as the Chargers are down 16 to 17 with 50 seconds left in the period. T-shirts are flying here at Don Tibnets. 45 seconds to go, Warriors with the ball.
As number two, Alyssa Lester puts up a shot, no good, rebound. Kendall McCormick. As almost picked, thrown away by McCormick. Fast break opportunity, layup, good.
Number 21, McKenna Ferguson. A little throwaway there by the Chargers. Wouldn't want to
to see that again. Had a chance to transition. That's going to make the lead 19 to 16 for the
Warriors and the charges are going to opt for the last possession here. McDonnell taking her time
at the top of the key. Listen to coach. Coach, what do we do here? That's what she said.
Need a ball. I think coach said we should buy a score here. Yep. Big three-pointer would give them
a tie. And Savannah with the pick. Savannah, Smith, for three. No good.
We need to say Warriors rebound. One second left. It's going to be a heave. A heave and it is
No good.
You're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale.
Chargers down 16 to 19 at the end of the first period.
Charger basketball 101.1.1.7 Radio Free Hills, though.
I'm Colin. I'm Gordy.
We'll see you after the break.
Astro Minute, where we're exploring the universe 60 seconds at a time.
I'm Lauren Smith, and today we're looking at two bright star clusters.
While planets, meteors, and aurora adorn this year's winter skies,
more distant objects, such as the Pleiades and Hyades,
returned with familiar dazzle to their winter posts.
The Pleiades and Hyades are open star clusters, groups of hundreds of stars born together and loosely bound by gravity.
They've been admired since antiquity visible even to the unaided eye.
To see them, look east toward the constellation Taurus.
The Pleiades is an obvious fuzzy patch sprinkled with a handful of bright stars.
Nearby Hyades is V-shaped and accented by bright red aldebaron, though that star is not actually part of the group.
You'll see several stars in each cluster, and binoculars will reveal.
feel many more of their hundreds of members.
That's your Astro Minute.
You are listening to Radio Free Hills, though, 101.7.
You're back here with Colin Gordy as Charger Baswell.
Having coach, Brianna Brennan, speak to him in the huddle.
What are they're staying down there?
Yeah, it's been a great.
First quarter there. Chargers are only down three, which feels like, honestly, could have been more of a deficit here.
But great job making shots when they needed them most. And we got a close one here.
Yeah, I mean, towards the end of the quarter, that's kind of what you want to see from Chargers.
Early defensive struggles. But I think I will say Taylor Thompson is out. I think that's definitely notable.
She's going to check back in here to start the second quarter.
I would expect her to be on the point card again, driving to the basketball.
It is a great player for the Warriors.
As the Chargers will have, Savannah Smith Panasic, Sarah Alkavenu.
Yep, Kennell McCormick and Lauren McDonald.
It's a tough name.
Sarah A.
I think you've been doing a great job.
I'm trying to hardest here, Gord.
Starting a Warriors side inbound.
Going the same way.
Elisa Leicester with the ball.
Crossing half court with McCormick on defense.
Looks like the Chargers may be going back to that zone again.
as Taylor Thompson has the ball.
I'm fake by number 23.
Shea Tripp.
Kays to Taylor Thompson, batting away by Savannah Smith.
Taylor Thompson wants to put the ball up out on Warriors,
Charger basketball.
That's going the other way.
Great defensive possession by the Chargers.
Thompson looking for a foul there, not going to get one,
and she's going to pick up the point guard.
She's a little bit upset by that.
I'll be honest.
I don't know if I would.
I think the rest are doing a great job tonight.
As McDonald takes the ball up,
Taylor Thompson on defense.
as McDonald kicks it to McCormick
batted away by Wayne State.
It's Charger basketball.
Great defense there by number 15.
Gabby Luca.
Still down 1619.
As Panasca has the ball top of the key.
He wants to give it to Alika Venousius.
Back to Banasic.
All the top of the key to McCormick to McDonald,
really wanting to fitting in there,
but they're playing great post defense there.
Savannah sets a screen.
Chargers with an emphasis on that post touch.
Not going to get it here.
He takes down the paint to Lauren McDonald.
He wants to get a shot up, and she does.
Makes it, but it's going to be before, or it's going to be after the buzzer, excuse me.
Going the other way, great defense again, Taylor Thompson.
Charge him really wanting to get the ball down there, and, you know, the Warriors are denying it,
and that's just what you want to see for the Warriors, but not so much for the Chargers.
Checking in for the Chargers, number 23.
Anna Pitcher's, sorry.
As Luska drives in, kicks it.
Panassic with the steel.
Big steel there for the charges.
A little fast break opportunity to try to find McDonald,
as McDonald has it, Taylor Thompson on defense.
McCormick at the top of the key.
Chargers cutting, takes it on the left side.
Gets up a layup, no good.
A rebound.
Number 21, McKenna Ferdeson.
Again, Warriors running the floor.
Ferguson with the ball.
McDonald on defense.
As Taylor Thompson is in the corner.
Great kick there.
Corner three for the Warriors.
Not going to go. Great box out by Savannah Smith, rebound chargers.
Kenne McCormick taking the ball up here.
Gabby Luchka on defense. Sounds a little Polish.
Same with Sir Alkavinucius, a little Polish maybe, as Alkavinusius kicks into McDonnell
top of the key, tight defense by Taylor Thompson.
As they get it down to the paint to Alkavinusus, as she does spin layup, no good.
Not going to go. Tipped.
As it's a tip ball, Wayne State basketball.
Off the chargers. Again, focusing on those paint touches early, the Chargers.
Just can't get the layups to go now, but I never know.
As Annalise Petrusik subs in for Alika Venutius, a couple of tough last names.
That's fun.
Fun last names for sure.
Always love a challenge here with Chargers.
As Luchka has a ball.
Trying to find a cutting Taylor Thompson as Alyssa Leicester shoots a three from the corner.
The South Pole.
Not going to get his go.
Rebound.
Lauren McDonald.
As she kicks his Vanof Smith.
Spanof Smith for three at no good.
Out on Charger, Wayne State basketball.
ball. Chargers are trying to get it in transition or in the post. That one's not going to go.
Our store, still 1619 charges only down three here. Great defense early in this quarter.
As Ellie Bruce subs in for Savannah Smith here. Trying to keep the post players fresh.
I think the post is definitely what can win or lose a game here against the Wayne State Warriors with that tough interior defense.
As number 21, what kind of Ferguson drives? They're going to call a block there. Try to stand in.
Annalise trying to stand in there.
a nice charge momentum play for the chargers instead it's going to be a block
inbound below the basket here for the warriors they're going to get a sub in here
saluski as a list of leicester's passing the ball trying to find somebody as she find

As McDonald puts the three at the top of the key.
No good, rebound Kendall McCormick.
As gives it back to McDonald.
And, oh, almost an and one there.
Tough.
Floater.
A little floater there.
Gets a foul.
Almost dropped, but we'll get two at the line for Lauren McDonald.
Chargers, trying to get threes.
Trying to get paint touches.
Kenna McCormer talking to coach.
I think, you know what?
I'm going out here going and predict what coach is saying.
I think we want to score more points than they do for us to win the game.
I think that's a good piece of advice.
Yeah, I think she's trying to tell her.
You know, you got to slow down a little bit when they get the ball.
Chargers rushing things on offense a tad.
First free throw up and good for McDonald's.
Seven minutes left, 1721.
Chargers down four.
Great game, as we predicted.
It's McDonald's on the first second free throw.
And it's good.
There's going to go.
Free throws early.
I don't think anyone's missed one.
Knock on wood there.
as McCormick is going
Alyssa Leicter, top the key,
driving around.
Still looking like they're in that two, three zone there.
Trying to limit the post plays.
As McKenna Ferguson puts a shot.
Great defense down low, but an even better finish there.
Check that, Lexi Boyk,
retrofreshment from Frankenmuth,
another Michigan native.
2318 Warriors up on the charges
and McDonald has the ball, top of the key.
Trying to attack with no Taylor Thompson in for the Warriors.
As McCormick drives,
Kicksdown to Panassik.
It's Panassik.
It shoots a shot.
Three-pointer, no good.
They're going to foul there on the freshman.
On the arm.
Going the other way, Warrior basketball.
I tell you, well, one thing of M-Sys I've seen here in the second quarter is
lots of pressure on the offensive rebounds for the Chargers.
Yeah.
Yep.
I'd say that the thing is you'd like to not have that many offense rebounds
because you'd like to be making those shots.
But second chance opportunities could be huge.
Absolutely.
You'd like to have them both.
As number 23, Shea Tripp kicks it down to number 33.
Lexi Boyk in the point paints.
Not going to go.
Pass away by McDonald.
As McCormick on the fast break, no good.
Out of bounds off the Warriors, though.
As Emma Rulman, subs in for Panasic.
Number 13 for the Wayne State Warriors,
Hillary Griffin, sorry, checking in.
Chargers trying to play great post-defense.
They're warriors also looking for a lot.
of post touches.
McDonnell passing in.
Trying to find Sue Larson, but she finds
a ruleman at the top of the key.
Who kicks it down?
Great inlet pass to Kenna McCormick.
They're going to get a push here on 33.
Lexi Boyke.
Great little play there for the charges,
trying to get a back screen to a layup.
Trying to get some easy buckets here.
Our score, 18, 23, charges down five,
with 55 to go.
A lot of fives there.
As Sularski, kicks in to Ellie Brew.
who kicks to the paint to Lauren McDonald who gets the tough-handed hook buckets.
Great finish inside.
As Hillary Griffin is guarded tightly by Kendall McCormick, Emma Rulman on defense to Solarski guarding.
Luchka, as Lucha pulls a mid-range jumper and it's good for Wayne State Warriors.
Chargers down 20 to 25 with five minutes left.
McDonald's taking the ball up.
As McDonald is going to find her buddy, Kendall McCormick.
Tough denial defense by the Warriors.
Not sure that the charge of sub-dop McCormick yet as Sularsky drives in looking to get a shot and she does no good rebound number 33 Lexi Boyke
That Hillary Griffin brings the ball up nice behind the back nice press breaker there by Hillary Griffin
She's trying to find number 23 for the paint
We're gonna call it a walk on the drop step there
Shea Tripp with the walk the travel good defense by number 40 Emma Ruman down there
The rest call of travel. I say traveling where?
Pack the bags, huh? We'll see you later.
Checking in for the Chargers, number 21, Savannah Smith.
Ellie Bruce is out.
You know, a young core at the center position for the Chargers.
Promising future.
Trying to rotate them often.
As McDonald, trying to get some work in on number 21.
McKenna Ferguson at their swing at top of the key.
Emma Rulman trying to get down there as it gets tipped.
Whoa, crafty finish.
Kenne McCormick gets some.
The ball is a nice right-handed finish at the rim.
Spins it off the backboard.
Chargers cut the lead to three down 25-22.
With Roman on defense, kicking it down to number 15.
Lushke as she shoots another mid-range.
She's good for there, but no good.
Kenne McCormick with the board, giving it back to McDonald.
Chargers trying to run in transition here.
McDonald's taking it up.
I think it's ironic how McDonald's numbers three,
as she's such a good three-point shooter as...
Nice pass.
She picks it down to Savannah Smith.
Huge finish for the Chargers there.
finish. They've cut it to one here 24, 25 with four to go. As Haley Griffin kicks it to
McKenna Ferguson. Sorry, Shea Tripp, kicks it to the Lushki in the corner. Lushie looking to shoot.
Warriors, pretty stagnant here on offense. To Ferguson in the paint. No good. Layup, no good.
Rebound Emma Rulman as Sularski is driving up court. Chargers and transition. Nice pass to McCormick.
As McCormick drives in for Lamp, no good. Offensive rebound by her own shot, though. She kicks
out Sulaski. Sularski shoots the three. No good. No good. Another offensive
Real McDonald down low good
nice shot Lauren
Chargers take the first lead of the night

Don Tibbitts

Haley Griffin was yelling at number 21 McKenna Ferguson

We'll see you after the break. You'll listen to Radio Free Hillsdale.
101.7 FM Charger Basketball. I'm Colin and I'm Gordy.
We'll see you after the break.
Welcome to the Grammar Minute, where we're saving the English language 60 seconds at a time.
I'm Lauren Smith and it's raining cats and dogs in Hillsdale today.
Actually, it's not. It's clear blue sky.
I just said that to give you a taste of all the lovely cliches English has to offer.
If anything about the previous sentences feels stale to you,
that's because I've used at least three cliches already.
I'm defining cliches as any commonly used sequence of words that is not direct and to the point.
So, for example, give you a taste is a cliche.
Don't get me wrong, these do have a place in good writing, but you have to use them with caution,
because if the reader has heard them often enough, or if they aren't used in a fresh way,
they can make it sound like you're not expressing original ideas.
What's stopping you from coming up with your own phrase, or just saying exactly what you mean?
It's raining like the giant mushroom at the water park is entertaining.
It's raining is concise.
Take your pick.
That's your Kramer.
Welcome back to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7.
The Chargers take their first lead in the night, 26, 25, with 332 left in the second period.
And I'll tell you what, something I was looking at over the break.
Wayne State's coach has been there 14 seasons, Carrie Lour, very long, tenured coach with a very, very pink suit on the bench today.
Yes.
Looking awesome as always.
Shout out to.
Carrie Lorre, but I do hope the Chargers
beat her team tonight. Checking in for the first time
tonight, number one, Peyton Adkins for the Chargers.
Also Panasic subbing in, Alka
Venutius subbing in, and Savannah Smith
back in. Big new lineup here
for the Chargers. Seeing what we can do.
One notable thing, Taylor Thompson is not in the game for the Warriors.
She hasn't played much here in this quarter. Wonder if something's going on.
Yeah, it might be, I don't know, the weather.
It's been a little cold today. Sure.
Side inbound for the Warriors.
Having a tough time getting it in.
Two players down for the Warriors.
clean up on aisle the floor as a lot of people tripped.
I can't tell you who.
I don't even know who it was.
A little bit of a collision and they look shook up, trying to get it down low.
Defected.
Deflected as number 21.
Ferguson tries to kick it to Haley Griffin in the corner.
Another deflection.
I'm sorry.
Lauren McDonald kicks it out of bounds.
I know a landing McDonald's.
I know of one of them.
There's number 14.
Ali Shigena subs in.
I tell you what deflections are huge on defense.
My coach used to keep track of them.
You love to have them.
I mean you're flying around on defense.
They're not a track stat, but they're a good stat.
As Ellie Holman has the ball.
Kicks up to Leicester in the corner.
Leicester for three and it's great.
Whoa, Rainbow shot.
Almost touching the ceiling there.
They're going to go in.
Makes your score 28, 26.
Chargers coming back the other way.
Savannah Smith has a ball.
Trying to drive in.
Nice little hook shot.
No good.
Rebond number 42.
McKenzie Miller.
Big stop there for the Warriors.
Hoping to expand their lead here.
As Leicester brings the ball up, kicks at the number 14.
Sheik Jaina, who passed the number 23, Shay Tripp in the paint, who gets shoots, he gets the rebound and scores.
Tough back at basket by Shea Tripp.
Great helpside defense for the Chargers, not going to be enough.
It's going to make your score 30, 26.
Chargers down 4 with 2.30 left.
You know another Shea?
I know Shea Ruddy.
He's pretty good.
As McDonald has the ball at the top of the key.
Panasic to Adkins.
Back to Banasic.
Trying to get in there.
Warren McDonald driving, kicking it out, stolen from.
Sworned by.
trip. Sworned by the Warriors. They're coming back the other way.
Fast break opportunity. As McDonald tries to get the ball,
kicks it to Leic. And Leicester shoots a no good. Rebound Panassick.
Big stop there. Almost had a three-pointer there for the Warriors coming back the other way.
McDonald.
Lauren McDonald kicks it to Alica Venusius.
Because McDonald has the ball again.
Trying to find it down to her buddy Savannah Smith in the paint.
Savannah kicks it out Panassic. Panassic looking to drive here.
Kick out Savannah.
Savannah's working on McKenzie Miller.
eight to go on the shot clock stoppage down low
gonna be a foul there on number 13
haley griffin haley griffithy hillary Hillary Hillary and haley different names
close checking in for the chargers number 15 kennel mccormick
Hillary griffin sounds like Hillary clinton if i do say so myself
pretty close there and checking in for the warriors is going to be number 21
mckenna Ferguson
Ferguson
well inbound under the basket for the chargers I'll tell you what
Wednesday Warriors playing pretty well, but I don't know what they know about the power of Don Timis Potter Arena.
Nice little play there from the charge.
And one.
McCormick, huge finish inside, and that's going to cut the lead to two with one on the way.
McCormick, receive the inbound.
Gets it up and under for a nice basket, nice and one basket there.
One thing I've noticed great inbound plays from the Chargers.
That's just elite coaching.
They've been getting good looks off of it, and it's great to see them capitalize on one.
Coach Brianna Brennan has the kids playing well, playing hot and playing well.
148 to go the free throw's good and I did not jinx us as McCormick splash O'Drano McBuckets
the free throw as she's guarding Alyssa Lister at top of key we made recently made a rainbow three-pointer
tough basketball down there as Ellie Coleman kicks it down post touches great pass but one
side play by McDonald's going back the other way McDonald blocks McKenzie Miller in the
paint as they're on fast break McDonald finds Savannah Smith at the top of the key
back to McDonald's as Savannah sets a screen.
Good take. Tough defense inside. No call.
Now's looking for the board. Doesn't get it as McCormick.
Great effort going the other way. Going to be Charger.
No, sorry, going to be Warrior basketball.
McCormick trying to get that late steel there.
Checking in is going to be Gabby Luchka.
Gabby Luchka from the Poland. She's not from Poland.
There's a lot of Polish names, I'll say it.
She's from Grass League Michigan. Again, not too far from here.
A lot of Michigan guys on Wayne State, believe it or not.
West State is in Michigan, so I do believe it.
Yeah, I believe it.
As McCormick, he's going Leicter.
My voice is cracking a lot, no?
As Adkins on defense, Savannah Smith kicks it down to Tripp.
Fumling the ball.
Trouble in the ball.
Trouble to snap, and it's going to go the other way.
Charger basketball, down 1.30 to 29 Warriors up with exactly a minute to go.
We'd love to see them take the lead hanging in half.
Yeah, absolutely.
as Peyton Adkins
subs out. We'll see
what we can do here with the Chargers.
Taking their time here trying to get a little two for one basket.
Score-stop score here would go
miles for him.
He's a kick-down Savannah Smith at the top of the key.
They're going to call it. Wow.
I think that's going to put us in the bonus here.
It's going to put us in the bonus here.
Savannah Smith to the line.
Physical defense at the top of the key, but they're going to call it.
Starting to tighten up.
the calls here at the end of the half.
Savannah Smith is shooting 93% from free throw
land this year. It's one thing
about the charges. Getting the freebies.
And they are free
for a reason. That one's nothing but nylon.
That's going to tie us up 30-30.
Savannah Smith's the second shot
and it's great. Bang, takes the lead.
49 seconds to go. Warriors are going to have to get
a shot off here before the end of the half.
As Leicester
takes it up, guarded tightly
by McCormick who kicks it to Luchka.
Back to Lister in the corner. Heicks it
Down in the paint and Savannah Smith with a steel.
McDonald's fast break opportunity.
Slowing it down a little bit for the charges.
32 seconds left.
Savannah Smith drives in the paint, no good.
Blocked by Warriors.
They're going to call it on the arm.
Savannah Smith back in the lines.
That's something the Warriors don't want to see.
Yeah, she's been getting some great touches.
And the difference there, Warriors, bad entry pass down low.
Chargers, good entry pass down low.
Savannah Smith to the line again to make two freebies, hopefully.
29.6 with the Warriors.
get it back here they will have oh savanna's been no good rare missed by savanna shot here we'll give
them the lead by two lines it up bang got one for two there it's gonna make your score 32 30
30 last shot is available here for the warriors see what they do chargers number 21
misses ferguson with the ball at top the key he's a screen from number 22 having a trouble
going to lob one up and they're going to call it.
See who it's on here. I think it's on McCormick.
Yeah, they're going to call it on McCormick.
A little bit of a push there.
Interesting to see the Warriors try to get a shot off there before the end of the half.
They did not want the last shot, so Chargers could rebound here.
They will have 14 seconds left.
Ferguson at the line, she didn't really like her shot there, I can tell.
And it didn't go in.
I'll tell you what.
She didn't like it, it didn't go in.
Hopefully she likes the next one, but hopefully not for the Chargers.
Still 3230. Great comeback in this quarter for the Chargers. Second one is good.
She liked that one. Spanastic end bounds it to Lauren McDonald.
13 seconds left, 12-11. As McDonald has the top of the key, she's looking like she wants to get the last shot.
As Savannah Smith sets the screen, McDonald shoots a fadeaway jumper, no good.
Rebound, Wayne State. As Savannah Smith gets a steal as this quarter is over, we're going to halftime here at Don Tibus Potter Arena.
Charges up 32-31 over the Warriors. You're listening to Radio Free Hills.
101.7 FM. I'm Colin. And I'm Gordy. We'll see you after the break, Charger Basketball.
Welcome back to Radio for the Hillsdale, 101.m. with Charger basketball. I'm Colin. I'm Gordy.
You know, a bentful first half, Chalesdale Chargers up 32, 31 over the Warriors.
McCormick and McDonald's leading scores, eight points each with Savannah Smith with five,
and then three and two points sprinkled without the Chargers.
You know, what do you think we can see better from this Chargers team in the second half, Gord?
I think that the emphasis needs to be better passes on the wing and entry.
Tight denial defense, both in the post and on the wings early by the Warriors.
And I think the key to it would be fake a pass to make a pass, as they say.
They said that.
They did say that.
And that would be a key.
And then just at the end of the second half, or at the end of that first half, sorry, you saw it.
But great defense on the post confronting the post player and having help side on the backside.
That's been huge.
Yeah, absolutely.
And I mean, the thing is, the thing that's been hurting the Chargers is Taylor Thompson, really.
And I think it's clear to see that she's one of the better players in the court for the Win State.
And I think with her ability to guard the point and her ability to guard down low and play down low, she's just a dynamic player.
So hopefully keeping her in check is a big part of the second half for me.
She didn't play much, bud.
That was because she didn't play much there in the second quarter, but I'm sure we'll see her to start this second half.
Yeah, just being able to swing the ball when she's guarding the point, getting great look.
Yeah, absolutely. And leading scores for your Wayne State Warriors. Lots of threes from them, a lot of post touches. Very similar strategies for both teams, I would say. Absolutely. You got Ferguson with eight, Tripp with six, Luchkoe with five, Leicester with three. That summarizes the points for the Wayne State Warriors. You know, I think the big thing for the Chargers is to have fun. I think another thing too with that is stay on that offensive board. You saw it at the end of that half? They were just fighting down there.
a little bit of energy and gave him the lead.
Watched a little bit of semi-pro today, Will Ferrell.
And one thing stood out to me that I think can apply here today.
Everybody love everybody.
Yeah.
And let's just play ball.
Let's deliver the victory.
Let's have a great fun home game here.
We'd love to see a win for the Chargers heading into the Boys game.
Should be announced later by me and Cole.
Should be a fun one.
Cole, Canta, otherwise known as Banta, can'ta.
And fun fact about him, transfer from Wayne State.
Yeah, I mean, this is almost a homecoming for Cole Cantor.
A couple of his ladies he knows on the team.
And he's, you know, he's excited to see the Warriors back.
It's been a minute for him.
The kid from Newark Catholic, Ohio, went to Wayne State, came to Hillsdale, came to the better side.
And, you know, we're happy he's here.
As the Wayne State Warriors come to warm up for the second half.
And I'll tell you what, if I was anybody with the Chargers, I'd be intimidated.
But I have the Chargers.
I'm not intimidated.
As the lady Chargers come back out to warm up for the basketball game.
Lady Chargers, there's just an aura about them.
Yeah, should be an exciting one with the lead.
We didn't see him have the lead much, but great to go into that halftime meeting with it.
Yeah, absolutely.
We'll see what the Lady Chargers can do here.
Bring them out, bring them out.
That's what they're saying about the Chargers today.
That's what they're saying.
That's what they are saying.
Shout out to Lady Volleyball.
Yeah, true.
Chargers semifinal, or GMAX semifinals.
Hosted here and home.
Game at on Friday, I believe.
Yeah.
And then if they win that big home game on Saturday,
I've seen the Lady Chargers win lots of GMAX at my four years here.
I would love to see another.
Absolutely.
Shout out to Jared Goff.
No reason.
She's playing well.
As a Panthers fan, I'm going to shout out Bryce Young playing well.
You have the floor, and you can shout out whoever you want.
I wouldn't shout them by myself.
And that's fine, but I would.
will. Now football, we are in the basketball realm now. We aren't just in any basketball arena,
though. We are in Don Tibbitts. Don Tibbitts Potter Arena for the charge of basketball. Women's
game should be a great second half. Like we predicted, we predicted based on records,
should be a close game, interstate game. Yep. As we have a minute 20 till the electricity starts
flowing again and the everybody love everybody mentality begins to show for the chargers yeah i think this uh
you gotta win that you gotta win those first four minutes coming out of half i think that's important
absolutely see if the charges can do that another thing like to see a couple more threes going
yeah you could use a couple more threes but that's always the case you know yeah we're taking a lot of
them pretty good looks overall but yeah same with the warriors like i said very similar offensive
Game plans early.
Getting it down to the post.
You don't have that.
It's going to be a three ball.
Yeah, absolutely.
As 42 seconds left.
Until Georgia basketball starts to dominate again.
Shout out Jemir Gibbs.
Another shout out.
You know?
Shout out.
Who else can we shout out these last 26 seconds here?
I'm going to shout out.
My friend Ryan Straster on the football team over here.
Good shout out.
I'm a shout out.
Coach Deck
across the pond here,
across the basketball court.
Seeing him over there.
Really brightens my day.
Hey, we got a couple defensive coaches
from the football team at the game today.
Love to see that.
Yeah, absolutely.
As coach,
Rihanna,
Brennan,
talking to their players.
Second season here,
hoping to have a good one for the Chargers.
We'll see what we can do here,
but I think it's a promising second half.
I think somebody must have given a fiery pregame speech
because it looks like the Chargers are out here
with a good one.
Russian. Another thing to note, as we mentioned on there, Carrie Lorne, head coach of the
Woman Warriors, 14 years, definitely had some talking, had some game planning. We'll see what she has
for the Chargers here in the second half. Yeah, absolutely. We'll see what we can do here.
It's something that I feel of me.
It's going to be shot out Don Tibas paded arena there at Oaks today.
It's going to be Charger basketball here, side and bound, going the other way, see if this
renmo is a little more lenient for the charge.
Chargers.
For the charge of the F.
Sarah Alkavenutius, Lauren McDonnell,
Kendall McCormick, Savannah Smith, and Annalise Petrusick.
And Taylor Thompson is in for the Warriors.
And I think that's back on Lauren McDonald.
McCormick drives in, kicks it back out to Petra Zick.
Back to McDonald, top of the key.
She's driving around, trying to find an inlet to the Savannah Smith,
which she does.
Great pass.
It's an open layup.
Nice.
Nice starting basketball.
Like we said, and a little press here from the Chargers,
a little zone press to start it off, trying to get some pressure.
Keeping them in the back court.
court. Lushki breaks it by the pass to Leicester as Leicester's gone
to tighten the time. Fun little start there from the Chargers. Brings the little pressure.
As McDonald is guarding Luchke at the top of the key, Taylor Thompson is going to by Alka
Venusius. And they're going to call the charge. Oh my. Try to post up there.
Number 23, Shea Trep trying to post up. They're going to call offensive charge on that.
Great start for the Chargers. Up 34, 31 with 918 early here.
this second half. We'd love to have a good, good run by the charges here. You know what?
Interests me? See, I'd love to get more points in the pain. Oh, as Lauren McDonald passed
the ball away to Shea Tripp. Sorry, that's Ferguson. As Ferguson kicks to the Leicter, who kicks
it to a player in the corner, no good. Great rebound by McCormick. In transition, here come
the Lady Chargers. As Loose Q with the shots, McCormick drives fast break, lay up no good,
as rebound by Alyssa Leicester. Come on back the other way, Warriors in transition as well.
Trying to get the post touch.
As Ferguson kicks it down to Taylor Thompson in the paint,
who puts it up no good, rebound McCormick.
Another rebound for McCormick.
Chargers are going to slow it up here.
34, 31, 8.30 to go.
As McDonald kicks it to McCormick, top of the key,
with Petra Zick, who kicks it to Alika Vanucius
at the top of the key, McCormick to McDonald.
Also, we get to Savannah Smith, McKee.
That's their rock.
Great pass.
Gets it in.
Savannah Smith, heating up here in the second half.
36, 31, Chargers, taking it,
five-point lead, great entry passes.
Shea Tripp down low, takes it to the hoop,
fouled. McDonald doesn't like it.
She got her on the shot. It's going to be two freebies for Tripp.
See how Shea-Trip can do here at the line, and I'll tell you what.
I have her stats right here, if you were wondering.
Shea-trip at the line is 500 on the year, four-for-eight,
nine points for game.
Just a kid, Shea-Trip from Jackson, Michigan again, nearby town.
Coach is trying to get an understanding.
Misses her first one.
Coach pressing the ref on.
what she did there.
Look like McDonald's had her hands up.
They can call it on the body, though.
Shout up McDonald's.
Shea tripped with her second shot, trying to make one of them.
She does.
Enough of a net there.
Checking in for the Warriors, number 14.
Ali Shenega.
Ali Shinaga, as Alikavenousis
kicks it to Warren McDonald's taking it up.
The leader of this Charger basketball team.
And a little two-three zone for the Warriors
trying to switch things up.
as McDonald kicks it down to the paint.
Great passing. Nice covered.
Let's a little 2-3-beater as McCorm put up a shot no good.
Rebounded Taylor Thompson as she takes up the cord.
Looking to make something happen.
Who kicks it to Leicester.
Leicester hasn't come out this game yet.
Still looking for those post touches Warriors with a huge emphasis on it.
As Ferguson drives in, looking to kick it in to Taylor Thompson.
Check that.
That is number 14, Ali Shenega, who gets the layup up and good.
Like I said, trying to get it inside.
They're going to go to the zone again on defense here.
Two, three.
Can the Chargers get a good look?
36, 34 Chargers says Annalise kicks it to McDonald's Top of the Key.
Back to Man.
See what they can do here.
Check that.
No, they're still in 2-3 zone.
Yeah, they're sitting in the zone here.
Open the Chargers.
Come down to Alika Venutius.
Oh, stolen by Alyssa Leicester.
Alka Venusius intercepted.
The zone is causing problems early for the Chargers.
Your score, 36, 34, Chargers up two.
Not sure.
Chargers is expected zone.
There's an in the pass to Thompson as Thompson gets it up and in for a Wednesday Warriors' layup as there's a timeout.
Your score 3636 with seven left.
You were listening to Charger Basketball on Radio Free Hills at 101.7 FM.
I'm Gordon.
I am also Colin and we'll see after the break.
Welcome to the old ball game where we talk about the past of America's favorite pastime.
I'm Tate Christensen.
Today we talk about the origin of baseball's favorite concession food, hot dogs.
At early ball games, there were no official concession stands,
but local people would sell food to fans,
who tended to eat things you would eat without utensils.
And at the beginning of the 20th century,
German immigrants began to help shape the culture,
and people began to love their dachshund sausages,
which were served with a milk roll in sauerkraut.
In the 1860s, Chris von der Ahehe,
a German immigrant and owner of the St. Louis Browns,
introduced the hot dog to baseball fans.
At first, they were served without buns,
and instead, customers would keep the white gloves
that the hot sausages were served on.
However, the gloves were eventually not being returned, and this frustrated the company.
Somewhere along the line the split bun was introduced, and it fit just like a glove.
And now countless hot dogs are eaten every ballgame.
This has been the old ballgame on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
Welcome back to Charger basketball.
Charger basketball.
Collins excited.
A little run there for the Warriors and that one we wanted to see, but it's going to be 36-36-7 to go.
In this third quarter, Chargers is looking to get something going.
against the zone. Great call there by coach. We thought she would come out on something different
veteran coach and she does. And I'll tell you what, part of this is on me because I am not bringing
the juice that I want to bring and we'll see what we can do here. The closing part says McDonald
takes the ball up. Pass from Alec Cavendousous. Great pass as we're trying to find a covered three
beater. That's football. I meant two three beater as McDonnell has a ball top of the key.
We're going to make something happen. They have a stout defense inside as McCormick has the ball.
Swing it all the way to Petrusick to Al-Kiffon-Nusius.
Excuse me.
Seven to go on the shot clock.
Chargers are looking for a basket.
Four to go.
Petruscic kicks him a corn like thrown away.
Gorski gets it out of bounds.
As this Charger basketball, two seconds left on the shot clock.
See if you can get something.
Got to give it to a player who can just get a shot up real quick.
Need a quick shot here.
Turn around three.
puts it up.
No good.
Shot-clock violation by the Chargers.
No harm, no foul though.
Shot clock was gone anyways.
Tough. I'm telling you that two three zone. Chargers passing around the arc can't seem to get it inside what they want to do.
Alyssa Leicester putting her hand up like she's running a play. I'm not, she was waving at somebody. I don't really know.
As Leister kicks into Gorky.
As Gorski throws it away, it'll be Charger basketball.
No, that's tipped away there by the Chargers. Great denial defense.
Bad commentating on my part. My apologies.
Great defense there. Chargers hoping to get a stop here in a transition bucket. That's one way.
to beat the two three zone yeah absolutely as taylor thompson gives it to her best friend presumably
alice alice lyster as leicester's going to tightly by mccormick who picks it away but picked up by
the waystay warriors as gortsky as the ball a kick ball violation against the chargers trying
to deny a pass inside we're going to have two seconds left on a shock luck that's going to reset it to
20 your score still 36 36 with six to go cormac tightly guarding alice leicester
As Alyssa Lester throws it away, there's foul on the floor.
Physical play by the Chargers.
I think they're going to get Savannah Smith with one.
Yep.
And Savannah's been their rock here in the second half so far.
I think she's been playing well.
We're trying to get the ball down to her, but this two-three zone is pretty tough here.
Tough for the Chargers to get in there.
Tough if you can't make any corner threes.
That seems to be the beater, but inbound for the Warriors.
As my Skittles spilled everywhere, Taylor Thompson underneath the basket.
Won't go.
Tough rebound McCormick.
Gritty player right there.
Going back the other way with 5.50 to go.
Still all square here.
Norman Gallagher, Kesea McCormick,
Donald Paints, Susanna.
And they're going to get her on the arm.
Great entry pass to the elbow.
Chargers couldn't get it in.
Number 11 for the Chargers checking in.
As McDonald kicks into Panasik.
Panask is in the game.
McDonald.
Kays down to Savannah Smith.
They're really trying to break the cover three.
It's Fanasic drops the ball and the goals out of bounds.
Wayne State basketball.
Yeah, tough.
I mean, the zone still bringing pressure.
Warriors going to amount here.
As Alyssa Leicester, it's bringing the ball up.
Guarded entirely by McCormick again.
As they get McCormick on a foul.
Reach in physical defense early in this second half by the Chargers,
but the rest of seem to call it all.
Absolutely.
Here, we have Leicester.
Passed in, see what Wayne's taking new on the end-mile pass.
She got number 21.
Mekina Ferguson at top of the key.
Trying to drive in there, get a lay-up as she does.
No good.
Rebound, and Elise Petrazik.
All right, McDonald takes you the other way.
So, Banasic.
Watch two to three.
Gives it away, number 14.
Ali Shenega.
A lot of fast basketball here.
Tough basketball.
They call foul on the floor.
On number three, Lauren McDonald.
As we highlighted, physical defense from the,
Chargers they're going to call it though.
Roman checking in.
Still stalemate at 36 here.
As Gorksky is passing the ball in.
And it's tipped by McCormick.
Still guarding Alyster-Tythor tight as Taylor Thompson drives in fast to the paint,
looking to get up a shot, which he does.
Tough basket.
Gets her own rebound, puts it up again,
and it's good, offensive rebound putback by Taylor Thompson.
Got a box out there for the Chargers.
Not going to be able to great rebound and put back.
Yes, I mean, Taylor Thompson is still electrifying player
As Petrazek pulls up a three and is good
Annalise Petrazik with a three-point basket
Huge three-pointed for the charges making your score
39-38
Alyssa Leister kicks it to Gorski
Who's going to tell you by Annalise
There's a foul on the court, no basket
Foul on number two
Looks like they pointed up to two we don't have one out there right now
We do not have a number two believe it or not
Did she call two shots potentially?
She might have been.
She signaled like it was on the floor.
I'm not sure.
We'll figure that out of the break.
You're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale 1-117 Charger Basketball.
I'm Colin and I'm Gordy.
I'll see you after the break.
Welcome to the old ball game where we talk about the past of America's favorite pastime.
I'm Tate Christensen.
Today we talk about Jackie Mitchell, one of the first and one of the only female baseball players in baseball history.
Mitchell was born on August 29, 1913 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Growing up, Mitchell played many sports, including basketball, swimming, tennis, and baseball.
In her teenage years, the Mitchell family moved to Chattanooga, where she joined a baseball school
and scouts from the Chattanooga Lookouts saw her pitch.
In 1931, she signed a temporary contract with the Lookouts to play two exhibition games that year.
On April 2nd, 1931, in a game against the New York Yankees, Mitchell, at just 17 years old,
was put into pitch for the lookouts.
The first batter she faced was Babe Brew.
She threw three pitches to him, two swings and misses, followed by a called third,
strike. After Ruth, Lou Gehrig was up to bat. Again, she took only three pitches to ring him up.
Many people are skeptical of this game, however, and think that it was staged or was a publicity
stunt. Following this game, Mitchell played baseball on and off until her official retirement
from baseball in 1937. This has been the old ballgame on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
Welcome back to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7, Charger basketball. I'm still Colin. And I'm still
Gordy, and we are still up one. Chargers up 39, 38, 433 to go.
And what do you see it out there, Colin?
I've seen a lot of basketball being played,
but, you know, I think offensively chargers need to get inside the paint.
I think that's make or break for the charges.
We've got to see what we can do here.
As Gorski lines up for two free throws.
They did call it as it was a shooting foul.
We thought it might have been on the ground, first one.
As Gorski makes her first free throw.
Chargers are going to be tied now, 39-39, with the second free throw here.
Gorski with her second lineup here.
and it's good
Gorski
it's going to give the
Warriors the lead
and they're going to come out
in a little press here
fresh trap for the Warriors
believe or not that was Gorski's
first three free throw attempts of the year
a little
fun fact of the day
checking in for the first time
tonight
number five
Coco Sylvester
Coco Sylvester
the kid from
Newville, Michigan. Check that. Toledo, Ohio.
As McDonald takes the ball up.
Looking like the charges run and play to beat this cover.
Not cover three. I'm still thinking cover three. Two, three zone.
As McDonald puts up a shot, it's great mid-range shot. Good.
Yeah, great shot. That is the weak spot of the zone. Right in the middle there.
Got to the spot and knocked it up and through.
4140, 40 chargers up one.
As Gorsky has the ball at the wing, looking to find somebody in the paint.
She's driving. Looking to kick it to her buddy Coleman.
as they kick it back out to Leister.
Cartily by McDonald.
Over to Gorski.
Covered by Alika Venus.
Ellie Bruce on the defense.
Gorkshee shot.
Gorkchieke, good.
As charges are on 42, 41.
Going to the soft zone press here for the Warriors,
trying to apply some pressure in the back court.
As McDonald breaks the press to Alka Veneutius,
Ali Bruce wide open to the paint.
Good layup.
Great pass by Alika Venus.
Great job.
Breaking the zone.
44342, charges up one with 3.30 to go.
As Alyssa Leister has the ball, guarded tightly by McCormick,
with Gorski, one of their key players at the top of the key,
guarded by Alka Venusius.
Who shoots a mid-range shot, no good,
but they're going to a shooting foul there on Alka Venetius.
Yeah, it looks like they say she got her on the arm,
on the shot, mid-range jumper.
Story of this second half is zone.
I'll tell you what, double zones here,
Chargers running a little zone,
Warriors running that soft press into a zone.
Chargers were able to break it last time off the inbound.
We'll see what they can do after these free throws.
As Gorski is taking your third free throw of the year,
and it's good.
Yeah, of the year.
Of the entire calendar year.
Crazy stat to think that she has not been fouled yet,
but here we are.
Gorski, looking to be an impact player here.
As she shoots your fourth free throw at day,
and it's no good.
Three for four on the day,
as Panasic subs in for Rulman.
But they get an offensive rebound, the Warriors,
as a Leicester has the ball at the top of the key.
kicks it to Coco Sylvester.
Chargers go back to Mann here.
As Leicester has a shot.
Rainbow shot in the corner, it's good.
Alyster with a dagger.
Not necessarily a dagger, just a great shot there by Leister.
46, 43, Chargers down three.
Warriors back in the zone.
As McDonald kicks it to McCormick, top of the key,
swinging around, trying to find that middle zone of the two, three.
Trying to kick it in there to kick it around.
As Longer, McDonald shoots a deep three, and it's no good.
as she gets her own rebound
when she's driving
and they're going to be calling
a blocking foul on
Taylor Thompson.
Yeah, Chargers seem to be swinging around, getting better
looks here in the two-three, starting to adapt to it.
We'll see how that continues throughout this second
half with 237
to go down 3, 43,
46.
As number 42,
Mackenzie Myler
subs in. That was the third on Thompson.
That could be a big story here late.
as McDonald kicks it to Bruce.
Panastic in the post on Coco Sylvester.
Goes up with the left, no good.
Rebound number 15, Gabby Gorksky.
As Leicter, trying to find his spot to kick in there.
Chargers man-to-man, guard tightly by Mick Cormick.
As Shenega has the ball.
Colonel foul on the floor.
Number five, Sarah Alika Venusius.
Tell you what, like we said,
Chargers playing tight defense.
That's going to be there.
Fifth foul of the half.
Get a center to the line.
Ali Shenega at the line.
5'11 senior from Fort Gray to Yots, Michigan, if that's a place.
Port here on Northern.
High school.
First one's good.
Going to make your score, 47, 43.
Chargers down four here with about two and change to go in the third quarter.
A Shenega.
Around the bucket makes her second one.
Spun around there for a while.
Ruman checking in for Alika Vanousis.
Warriors come out of the half-court press.
We're going to go into the zone.
Two-three still.
Seems to be working.
They're up 50-43 here.
As McDonald takes the ball up for the charges.
Kicks to the Rulman on the pit.
You're running really a three-man team here.
Three-man basketball here.
As Bruce has in the paint,
they're going to get a shot.
They're going to call foul on number two.
2. Alyssa Leister. Check that. Not even close. Number 25. No, 15. What's happening? Gabby Gorski.
Her second on the day. Great entry pass. Trying to get post touches still in the zone.
Is Ellie Bruce misses her first one? Coach contemplating if that was a foul. They had a nice trap.
No reason to reach in there, but... Sorry, we have a quick score update. They have changed it back.
So 4843. Chargers are down five. Five, the number with each team with five fouls here.
A number to be as Ellie Bruce makes her second free throw. It's going to make it 44, 48. Chargers cut it to four with two to go.
Bruce the pressure from Lancash, Ohio. Oh, as Leicester passes it out of bounds. And I believe that she just drilled Taylor Thompson in the face on the bench.
Yeah, a little miscommunication there for the Warriors.
Not good for anybody.
As the Chargers have the ball again, top the key.
To Rulman at the wing.
Looking to cut in to that middle there,
as the Warriors are denying it.
As McDonald takes up three from top the keen is good.
Nylon, huge shot for the Chargers.
Making their score 47, 48, with a minute 30 to go in this quarter.
Bangorang!
Rufio.
As the T-shirts go flying, Alyssa Leicester,
kicks it to Gorski.
Can't find anything. Gives it back to Shinaga.
Back to Coco Sylvester.
We're going to make a move here.
Back to Leicester.
McDonald's playing tough defense.
Trying to push it out of bounds. We couldn't get it.
As Leicester is getting a screen from Gorski,
as Leicester gets up and under for a shot, no good.
Shot is no good.
Shot-Foc violation, Charger basketball.
That was a close one. Got the shot up?
It appeared, did not.
Your score 47, 48. Chargers down.
one with one minutes to go in this third.
Huge stop, two in a row, see if the charges came in a basket here against this tough zone.
Yeah, as McDonald comes out for Sularski and Ellie Bruce comes in, sorry, comes out for Savannah Smith.
See what the Chargers can do here as the Cormick has a ball in the wing.
Still looking to get that inside of the top of the key as they do.
Fantastic to Savannah Smith for the easy bucket.
Chargers up 49-48.
Great job.
Cutting into that zone.
finding that weak spot.
49-48 is Colin mentioned.
Chargers take the lead.
As, what's her name?
Hillary Griffin is in for the Wednesday
Warriors. Hillary Griffin kicks it to Leicester.
Leicester with the moonball three, and it's good.
I'll tell you what, that three-pointer nearly touched
the top of the Don Tibbitts Potter Arena.
Chargers have the last shot
here if they want it.
Panasic to Rulman.
Back to Sularski, the freshman.
McCormick has the ball.
So we get all the way across court to Rulman.
really looking to penetrate that defense but can't seem to do so panastic to sularski to mccormick
mccormick pump fakes puts up a little floater and it's great two seconds left one second left
as lister puts up a shot and it's no good 51 51 at the end of the third period
one thing about the charges they have finished the quarter strong great job tying it up there at 51
headed into the fourth you're listening to charger basketball brady free hills though 101.7
I'm corded.
Telling the stories of those who have been awarded the Medal of Honor.
This is Minute of Honor.
Here's Jinnah Suhita.
On February 10th, 1970, near Fuak Long Vietnam,
specialist John Baca was setting up an ambush with his unit.
When one of the tripwires detonated in the jungle ahead,
a platoon was sent to investigate.
Soon they came under intense enemy fire from concealed positions along the trail.
As they prepared to engage the enemy,
a fragmentation grenade was thrown in the midst of the patrol.
Baca said later at that moment he thought of his mother.
He called her only the day before telling her that he was working in the post office, safe from action on the front lines.
But with the lives of his friends hanging in the balance, Baca acted quickly.
With complete disregard for his own safety, Baca used his steel helmet and his own body to cover the grenade and absorb the lethal fragments.
His conspicuous gallantry at the risk of his own life directly saved the lives of eight men.
For the extraordinary courage and selflessness he displayed on February 10th, 1970, Specialist John Baca was awarded the Medal of Honor.
This is Minute of Honor on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
Welcome back to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.1.7 FM. Charger basketball. Shout out my mom. She just called. I'm still Colin. And I'm still Gordy.
Huge fourth quarter here at Don Tibbitts. We'll see what concludes in this final quarter tied at 51.
Warriors are going to start with the basketball here. Story of this second half.
I would say the zone D from the Warriors,
they were able to find some spots in it at the end for the Chargers.
But we'll see how this concludes.
Chargers start in the quarter with McCormick Smith,
Alika Venutius, McDonald-Panasic.
As Leicter, as the ball.
Kicks it to her good buddy Shinaga, presumably.
Back to Thompson.
Top of the key, you're not really getting any penetration yet.
Kicks it to Leicester.
Top of the key still.
as Gorgesky takes a shot, three ball, and it's good.
Huge basket there, top of the key, giving them the lead, 54, 51,
left her open, she was able to knock it home.
Absolutely, I mean, got to close out there as McDonald brings the ball up.
Kids from Air Force, transfer from Air Force.
Great player for the charges.
Smith has the ball.
Takes a little post-mid-range, makes it great.
against Amanda Smith heating up.
Great little turnaround jumper there.
Weak spot in the zone, found it.
As Taylor Thompson takes a fast, fast, fast break
and gets it to the basket
with a nice little left-handed right-hand layup.
56, 53, Chargers down three.
As McDonald kicks in the Panas on top of the key
to Aleka Venusius,
really just swinging top the key.
Looking to get a play for McDonald.
Wasn't open, though.
As McDonald takes a mid-range shot, no good,
looks like it was tipped out on Wayne State Charger basketball.
12 seconds left on the shot clock for the Chargers.
Again, that zone cause and fits.
They were able to find a weak spot on the last possession with Savannah Smith.
Down there in the corner, nice little middy.
As Petrusik subs in, run in-mound player trying to get up.
Kickball violation on number 30, Taylor Thompson.
Charger basketball still under that.
As McCormick, great hustle to go get the basketball.
Okay, back to Earth here.
Lord, we got along with the basket.
trying to find somebody as she finds peters-zic top of the at the wing fanatic on the screen with the roll almost stolen by taylor thomason who's guarding warren macdonald top of key tight we're going to get into the zone is tipped savannah smith trouble with the ball tough pass from mcdonald's broken away by gabby gorski as shay tripp driving fast again puts it up foul on savannah smith physical foul down there had to call it going to be two

8 23 to go as Shay Tripp makes her first free throw as there's a kid not very
happy that she made the free throw stands that is a upset kid
Shea Trit makes the second free throw lights out there
as McDonald
58, 53.
Takes the ball up.
Looking to find
Petruzic
back to McCormick.
Recurham's been in the game
the entire game, I'd say.
But an impact player for sure
as McCormick
puts up,
I'm sorry,
McDonald puts up a shot they call.
They're going to call a charge on her.
Wow.
Push off there.
Charging foul on Lauren McDonald.
Great defense by Thompson,
not getting a blocking foul there.
Basket would have counted
as Alec of Inoucius and Sulars.
Subbin for McDonald and Panassik.
Huge thing to note there. Chargers leading score McDonald with her fourth goes to the bench.
Interesting to see. Very interesting to see one of their preserving her for fouls.
She has four fouls in the moment as Leister has the ball.
Kicks it to Taylor Thompson.
Out to Shea Tripp, out to Gorski.
Who's looking to get a bucket up as she has a little trouble with the basketball.
Shea Tripp.
Looking at driving on Savannah Smith and she does.
Blocked to Savannah Smith.
No, no, no.
Not in her house.
Great job.
Not getting her third foul there.
Blocked away.
Score is going to be 58, 53 with 747 to go.
Chargers down five.
As it's inbounded to Shea Tripp.
Looking again to score on Savannah Smith.
As this time she does.
Nice up and under left-handed basket by Shea Tripp.
As Seularski in the game.
Oh, Errant passed a little bit to Aleka Venutius, but it's recovered by Petruzik.
It looks like Coach Brana Brennan's calling a fantastic player for the ladies to run.
Seven minutes left, only down seven.
A lot of basketball to go.
As Savannah Smith, again, has trouble called jump ball, possession air to Hillsdale, though.
Interesting to note here, the Warriors went back to Mann with McDonald's out.
Could be an answer for her game.
They're going back to man, trying to pressure the freshman for the Chargers.
Sluski.
Absolutely. See if we can get in here to Algae Lears is tough follow by Thompson.
And that's going to be her fourth. It'll be interesting if she'll go to the bench with four.
Definitely something to keep an eye out. Coach looks like she's looking for somebody.
As she does, she finds number 21 of Ferguson. As Ferguson comes in for Taylor Thompson.
Taylor's not very happy about that, but as Chargers, Chargers might be a little bit happy about that.
Yeah, that could be huge. Score 53.
60. Chargers down seven with seven to go.
As Sularski, looking for an inbound pass,
kicks it to Petra Zick.
He's looking to find Sularski,
Toplakee, still trying to penetrate into that defense.
Savannah Smith puts up a three, no good, but they're going to go foul.
That's huge. One of the Chargers' best free throw shooters
is going to get three of them.
They're contemplating if it was a two or a three on the foul.
Refere's disgusting.
They're going to call it on the floor, actually.
Shea Tripp, her fourth as well.
Great player for the Warriors has got four.
The fouls are going to be interesting here, down to the wire.
Two for each team in this quarter.
As McKenzie, Myler subs in.
Checking in, due to foul trouble, charges with the inbound.
Kicks into Petrazik, top of the key.
Looking for a screen from Alec and Anurus.
As Petrusik drives in free, gets a nice left-handed layup.
That's the weak spot in the man zone, beating him to.
the baseline. Chargers is going to go down
555-60. As
Ferguson kicks it into the paint
to McKenzie Miler, as McKenzie
Myler gets a nice left-handed
ball. Good finish inside.
Yeah, Chargers tried to have helpside. Couldn't
get it done. 62-55
Chargers, down seven.
Toularski to Smith.
Who has the top of the key? Looking to distribute the basketball.
Kisksis Floski, wide-open three-pointer, and
it's no good. A lot of bounce
off the board as Alkavenuio gives it her best effort to
get the board but Gabby Gorski gets a rebound passed it all the way down court to
McKenzie Milers.
McKenzie Miler puts up a basket no good.
The other left hand shot by Shinaga, no good.
Rebound McCormick.
Wow.
Sighting basketball here was six to go.
Snuck out of there with no points against them, the Chargers.
Still down 755, 62.
As Alka Vendez just kicks it to Petrazik, the faint who's spinning around, gets blocked by
Gabby Gorski.
Charger basketball underneath the rim.
Sicking to the man here are the Warriors seems to be working out.
Chargers down seven still, six to go, plenty of time for a comeback.
As Toularski, we're going to find somebody anybody.
Petrazik, wide open three, no good.
Rebon Gorski.
Chargers are getting open looks.
Can't seem to convert here late.
As Leicester is guarded by Sarah Alika Venusius.
As Leicester's driving on Alka Venusius, gets up and under.
Wow.
And one basket.
I'll tell you what, that was a tough basket.
Yeah, Warriors are.
Fired up after that one with a chance to extend the lead to 10.
64.55 here with 543 to go.
Great, tough bucket inside.
As Aleka Venusius has four files as she subbed out for Panasic,
as well as Sularski, the freshman subbed out for the veteran McDonald.
That's somebody need down the stretch here with five minutes, 43 seconds left, down nine.
Yeah, Colin.
Interesting to note, McDonald with four fouls, one more and she's gone.
so we will follow that story.
As Leicester, looking to get her free throw here.
As she does.
That rainbow shot.
Patented by Alyssa Leicester.
As McDonald, calling the offense, directing traffic,
reading the zone, finding her safeties.
McDonald kicks in to McCormick, top of the key.
As Petrusick drives in, is charging foul.
Elisa Leister withdraws the charge on Annalise Petrazic.
That's huge.
Her fourth is well.
A lot of foul trouble for the charges.
A great take, but they're going to call the off arm there.
I'll tell you what.
Chargers are going to need something here late.
A lot of time left, but you've got to play some great basketball here down the stretch
and play it pretty clean too with no fouls.
As Leicter.
Ball up on McCormick.
Still 55, 65.
Warriors up 10.
She kicks it to Shinaga, out to Hillary, over to McKenzie Miler.
In the pain to Shinaga, Schenegu lost the ball, stolen by Panasic.
Great help defense there, not to foul.
As McDonald has the ball atop the key to Panasic, back to Petrazig.
As Petrusik pulls.
Bang!
Huge three-pointer for the Chargers, cuts the lead down to seven.
The T-shirts go flying.
as Leicester takes the ball up.
That's what we need.
Time out, waitstate, Warriors.
You're listening to Charger basketball

I am Gordy.
And I am Gordy.
Telling the stories of those who have been awarded
the Medal of Honor. This is Minute of Honor.
Here's Jinnah Suhita.
On the night of October 2nd,
1952 in Korea,
private first class Jack Kelso was defending
a vital outpost against a vastly
superior enemy force when the commanding officers became casualties.
When an enemy grenade landed in a bunker holding four Marines besides himself, he unhesitatingly
picked it up, rushed out into the open and hurled it back at the enemy.
The grenade exploded as it left his hand, but Private Kelso refused to move to safety and instead
returned enemy fire, allowing other Marines pinned down in a nearby bunker to escape.
Kelsa was mortally wounded while providing cover for his comrades.
He gallantly gave his life for his country.
For his valiant fighting spirit, aggressive determination, and self-sacrificing efforts for the sake of others,
private first class Jack Kelso was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
This is Minute of Honor on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
We are back.
After that timeout from the Warriors, your score 58, 65, Chargers down 7.443 to go.
Warrior Basketball.
Loria Basketball is up seven on the charge.
But seven points didn't stop anybody ever from winning a basketball game.
Need a stop score, stop, in my opinion.
That would go miles for these ladies.
Looks like the same cats are in for the Chargers.
Panassik, McCormick, McDonald, Petrusick, and Savannah Smith.
Anchored out on the paint.
See if these five can get it done here late.
We're going to get the ball in.
Leles-Lester kicks it down to Gorski in the paint.
Spin-moved basket, up and good for the war.
Warriors.
Tough fucking down there, got a nice entry pass in.
They're gonna make the score 67-58.
Great shot by Gorski as McDonald has the ball coming up here.
Kese-Milkormick, top the key.
Looking to shoot, does not, holds off as Petra Zick.
Drives around under the basket, passed it off the back of the, oh, tipped off the back
of the backboard.
Still charge of basketball down here.
Tough, still stay into that man.
Warriors playing tough defense here late.
As we got McDonald
underneath the basket here
trying to kick it in here.
Kenzie Miller off the court.
Subbed in for.
Coach has a question here for the ref.
It's going to stay with the Chargers.
As McDonald, kicking it into
Petrazac, but it's up and over,
out of bounds.
Great opportunity there off the inbounds for the Chargers.
Weren't able to get anything
and they're going to bring the pressure here.
going to press here to finish it out with 4.20 left, down 9.
Still possible for a comeback here.
Charger basketball.
Looking for a late comeback here as Shay Tripp.
We're going to dribble it up.
Gives it to her dear buddy Leister presumably as Leicter is driving around.
Switched, going by McCormick.
Feet tripped up a little bit, but no foul.
As Gorski takes a deep three.
No good.
Rebound Panassick.
Huge rebound there for the Chargers needed to stop.
Got one.
as McCormick has the ball looking to drive-in.
Knife through gets up and under and it's great, great layup by.
Huge finish there and the charges are going to pick up full court.
As they break the press down there trying to slow things down a little bit for the Warriors,
as Leisier is directing traffic.
3.40 left, 60, 67, chargers down seven.
Close game.
Need a stop here.
As Gorski, heating up, driving in the paint.
We're going to get up and under as she does.
Gorski's on fire.
this second half.
Huge bucket to extend the lead to nine.
As McDonald.
Oh.
They're going to call the push off there on McDonald.
That's going to be her fifth and that's going to be her night.
Offensive foul.
You know, it's something you don't like to see for the Chargers.
Trying to get a spin move up and under for the layup, but didn't get it.
Got a good look.
They're going to call the foul first.
Chargers, once again, picking up full court, trying to get some pressure, trying to get some turnovers.
Yeah, absolutely. We'll see really what can happen here. I mean, still full core press.
Not really advancing the ball much for the Warriors as now they do.
Driving up, Tripp, just slicing through, kicks into the corner to Ferguson and kicks it back down to Tripp.
Back out to Leicester.
Look at their two and clock a little bit.
Yeah, Warriors taking their time with three minutes left, up nine, trying to get the best shot they can with 10 on the shot clock.
As Gorski has ball at top of the wing, drive top of the key, four seconds off the second.
the shot clock as Ferguson drives gets up and under no good offensive rebound by shay trippedo
as they take it back out we're going to get more clock chewed off needed that rebound there for the

On the ground, yeah.
And the Chargers needed to stop there, let up an offense of rebound.
Yep, as you, go ahead, Gordon.
Taylor Thompson going to check in, four fouls.
See what we can do here for the Chargers.
Baseline, inbound play.
Let's see what they got.
It's kicked up an ass.
the wing. Donovan in the paint, puts it up and is great.
Huge finish down loan. Chargers need to stop desperately here.
As the Warriors break the press with ease, we're going to chew some more clock here.
Gotta press them. Got to press him to get any chance.
As Gorshke's ball kicks it to Tripp, Tripp driving in, gets up and under, and they call foul
on the floor, Shay Tripp.
It's going to be the third on Savannah Smith with two minutes to go.
Chargers down 10. Warriors are doing a great job.
here of getting the best shot at the end of the shot clock.
Shout out Gabe von Drak.
Former announcer, former Charger football player.
As trips at the line.
And she shoots and misses her first free throw.
Big for the Chargers.
You'd like to see her miss another one.
She misses this one.
Chargers need to make sure to box out and get the ball up the court quick.
Only two minutes left down 10.
As they make the second one, down 11.
As there will be a timeout by coach Brianna Brennan.
Timeout charges in the Radio Free Hills Zone 101.7.

Charge her ball.
As Toularski in for point from McDonald's
and she kicks down to Smith in the paint.
Trying to find Panasic as she doesn't.
But finds Petrazek at top the key.
As Petrusik throws it away,
trying to find Silarski.
Errant pass.
Tough one there for the Chargers.
Needed in a basket terribly bad.
Not going to get one in turnover instead.
As they kick it in the lights here,
trying to break the press as they do is Gorky.
Check that.
Shea Tripp.
Takes it up and is fouled.
Chargers are going to foul there.
Kind of looked intentional,
trying to get some free throws,
hoping for a couple misses.
Number 21 Savannah Smith.
That's her fourth foul as well.
Now, to the wire here.
Chargers need something very good.
quickly to happen for them.
First one is nothing but nylon.
A swing and a hit, as the new kids would say.
That Shaitrip lines up for a second free throw, and it's good.
Huge ass story is the free throws early for the Warriors.
McCormick at the wing trying to drive in there, trying to knife in the paint there.
As Slorzky has the ball, top the key.
You get points here quick as Smith has a ball in the paint.
Petra Zick in the corner, she puts it up.
No good, but.
Fowl on the floor by Taylor Thompson, as she is not happy.
She said some vulgar words.
That's going to be her fifth.
She is out of the game.
Charger inbound below the basket, one away from the bonus.
Shenega subs in for Taylor Thompson.
As to Larson, Larson has the ball underneath the net.
20 seconds left on the clock.
62, 65.
As Leicter tips it and steals the basketball.
Very soon, oh, McCormick almost steals it.
As the Warriors are bringing it up court very fast,
as they're trying to trap the ball carrier,
which there was a errant whistle, it appears.
I don't think anyone called anything,
but the players seemed to stop.
I also heard that.
I won't lie.
I did hear something that resembled a whistle,
but there was no whistle.
So the referees are going to discuss this,
go, hey, what the heck just happened?
And see what can happen.
Heard maybe a squeak of the shoe.
It's going to go back to the Warriors here with 108 left,
up 13.

And as the shot clock winds down here, they can dribble it out.
Still playing tight defense.
Chargers are not going to foul.
As Ferguson dribbles the point, as dribbles the ball out,
five seconds left, the chargers are going to go down 80 to 67 to the Wayne State Warriors.
