As a busy college student, don't be so consumed with your own accomplishments that you forget to love others.

Hello, I'm Ariel McDowell here with a word to the wise. It's important to remember that seeing, loving, and serving the people around you is vital to having joy. As a busy college student, this is so easy to forget because this phase of life centers around accomplishing one's own desires and improving one's own abilities. But quality time with people where your focus is taken off of yourself is essential. There are no hobbies so beneficial they replace love. Now, obviously playing too many video games is subpar, but what about practicing an instrument or working on a project? Let me encourage you that even the latter activity should be prioritized only after love. We simply can't live without it.

And if we fail to spend time with our eyes open to other people, our world grows smaller, more lonely and more self-centered. As it does, we wonder what we are missing. We spend more time on our projects seeking approval when really what we need is to see and be seen by someone else. Take a break and buy a coffee for a friend. Don't forget how important it is.
