After bringing you chasing the base during the Republican primary contests this year, I'm hitting the road again for a new series that explores the contest between former President Donald Trump and Vice president Kamala Harris. I wanted to know how big campaign arguments are playing out on the ground.

Like, how the debate over abortion will drive people to the polls. Arizona is the biggest battleground where abortion is expected to be on the ballot. What do people think when they hear Democrats say that democracy is on the line? January 6th, I mean, was as close as we've probably come to the undermining of a free and fair election in this country. How's the economy shaping people's thoughts on the race? My dollar went a lot further when Trump was in there. And how is Harris' sudden rise being received by voters?

She's already proven herself to be a formidable opponent for Trump. Introducing Chasing the Vote, a new multi-part series from the Wall Street Journal. Starting in September, I'll be talking with the voters who will pick the country's next president. I'll be traveling around the nation hearing from retirees in Arizona, business owners in Wisconsin, and students who lived through campus protests over the conflict in Gaza. We'll also talk about immigration, voting rights,
