Starting point is 00:00:00 This podcast is brought to you by Podcast Nation. Slam goes the door. Fart goes the bud. As everybody, Dodd. Badongka. Okay. It's rating in Los Angeles,
Starting point is 00:00:17 which, I don't know. I think that's El Niño. Which is Spanish for the Niño. Old Chris Farley bet. Anyways, a lot of Canadians out there angry about the horse meat. conversation that Brandy started last week saying that horses are sold to Canada because they
Starting point is 00:00:38 eat horses, a lot of Canadians saying that Wells, that's not true. First of all, don't come by me. I didn't say that. I don't know about the horses and the horse meat. All right, I'm not the horse girl. She's the horse girl. So we're going to get her on the phone. We're going to have her talk about this because this needs, we need to get to the bottom of this
Starting point is 00:00:52 horse meat situation. All right? Let's call her. It's time to go. It is time. Canadians don't eat. horses or we don't think they do. How's it going? It's going good. You seem very quiet. My mic's quiet. Yeah, there you go. Just bring it closer to you. As far as the table goes.
Starting point is 00:01:12 Okay. What's going on? Oh, nothing. Where are you now? This is a new, this is a new look. I just flipped the computer because the light was so bad last time. Yeah. Well, I mean, I think we recorded it at night maybe too, which wasn't helpful. I don't know. I can't remember, but the windows are that way. So even though this is messy and horrible and not a great background, I feel like it's better to have the light. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:01:41 It's, you know, it's very like home goods behind you. Home goods? Is that what the bag says or something? No, I don't know. Like home goods, you know, like it's a kitchen. I see a kitchen behind you. I feel like you're going to do like some sort of influencing on some like new. tool I need to buy for the kitchen.
Starting point is 00:02:00 hilarious. That's what I need to be doing is influencing. That's kind of gone away, by the way. I know. And did you see where they just like to send no more influencers at what's happening right now, the tennis thing? US Open. The US Open, yeah. What's the golf one called? I get them confused.
Starting point is 00:02:17 The US Open. That's why. Yeah. Why are they both called that? Technically opens are tournaments that are open to everyone. Everyone. You just to qualify to get in. So I believe, at least I know that's in golf.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Like, you can be an amateur and go qualify at, like, your local club and then, like, win and, like, keep on winning until you get to play in the U.S. Open. I assume that's probably not the same for tennis, but I don't know. That's why it's called the. I mean, the original one was the European British Open. I love that. Did you see the influencers? No, but good.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Surprised you didn't see that. I didn't. But I never, I want to go to the U.S. Open. I want to go to Flushing Meadows. I'd love to go to Wimbledon. Sit on Henman Hill. I like to go to Roland Garros. And I'd like to go to the Australian Open.
Starting point is 00:03:04 I like tennis. Okay. But I think it's good that, yeah, we don't need Charlie DeMilio. You know, like, what is that? What is that doing for tennis? I don't know. But apparently the influence were like straight up, like, disrupting the tournament. I'm sure they're doing TikTok dances and crap.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Get out of here. They said no more. Good. I like that. Hold on, Brandon. We've got to talk about something because we've been getting roasted in the comments. Oh, what for? Canadians are very angry at you right now, Brandy.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Oh, what now? They feel very, very strongly about the statement you made about Canadians eating horse meat and that they do not eat horse meat. Why? Because they don't. They said they do not eat horse meat. They never heard of that and don't know what you're talking about. Let's give it a Google. Hold on. Let's ask chat, GPT. Hey, do Canadians eat horse meat?
Starting point is 00:03:54 In Canada? Yeah. Some people do eat horse meat. But it's not super common. It shows up occasionally in specialty butcher shops or certain restaurants, but it's not exactly a weeknight staple for most folks. Culturally, it's a lot less common than beef or chicken. There are a few countries where it's more normal. Okay. Like parts of Europe and Japan.
Starting point is 00:04:22 There's a sashimi-style horse meat. Oh. Vasashi. Yeah, you couldn't do that in most other places. So, yeah, it's legal here, but definitely niche. Do Americans eat horse meat? Hmm. Generally, no, it's very rare.
Starting point is 00:04:43 The U.S. doesn't have any commercial horse slaughterhouses operating right now. Culturally, Americans tend to see horses more as companions or work animals, not livestock for eating. Where in Canada are they eating horses, chat? Mostly in Quebec, a bit in Ontario and Alberta, but even there, it's not common. Most of the horsemaid that's produced in Canada is actually exported. All right, there you have it, Canadians.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Brandy told no lies. I did not. Here's the thing. Yeah. It's like saying Americans eat lamb. Yeah. Well, I don't eat lamb. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:22 But I'm very aware that in this country people eat lamb. It's the same thing. Just because these people that are Canadian don't eat horses doesn't mean that other Canadians don't eat horse meat, you know? Yeah. It's okay. We're all getting educated out here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Listen, you like you freaky-diki French over there in Ontario, eh? You guys are getting that horse meat, all right? And then I think what Brandy was saying was that we round up all them wild ones. We send them to Canada. And it looks like Canada has a system to be able to send it to the freaky-diki Japanese. where they have so does Mexico. Right now the border is closed to Mexico actually, but that's the bigger problem is Canada is,
Starting point is 00:06:03 I thought it was, they said, I think Google said Canada was the number one largest exporter of horses for slaughter. I do know that a lot of the horses from the west, like the wild horses, most of them shipped to Texas across the border to Mexico first to slaughter,
Starting point is 00:06:18 but like Canada obviously does it as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, well, we got to the bottom of that and yeah. Not trying to offend anyone. No, but just trying to save the horses. Just do your research, guys. Also, I'm surprised that America is not selling horse meat. I mean, like, I feel like we have like no moral, you know.
Starting point is 00:06:36 You've heard the new conspiracy, right? Please, enlighten. This mystery beef meat that Trump's importing. Yeah. That he won't say where it's from. Yeah. Everyone's freaking out saying it's horse meat. And that's why he won't tell us what it is.
Starting point is 00:06:49 I'm just telling you what the social media is saying. You know, I don't think that's true, but that is what social media is saying. Yeah, well, it could be. I mean, it could be. But why won't you just tell us where the fuck the meat's coming from? I don't get it. Like, why is it that big of a deal? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I don't know what's happening. I feel like I've fallen into a, like, like a bad timeline. Mm-hmm. I feel like none of this is real. And I feel like I did something that I'm getting punished for now. Yeah. How's the house building going? Uh, horrible.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Great. Okay. Matt and I've been painting for two days straight and my body feels like it's been in a car accident. I'm so sore. Gross. Yeah. Not fun. All right.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Don't just don't, don't ever think that you're capable of painting unless that's your actual job. Let me just, I'm just going to say that. Whatever you were going to do, don't do it. My advice to you, if you're going to, if you're thinking about, doing something, you shouldn't do that. Don't do that. It seems like a good idea. Don't do it. It's not. No. Yeah. I mean, they don't live my life going forward. It's just spot in 80. I'm not going to plan a, I agree to nothing. And then if I wake up and it's like, hey, do you want to go to Mexico? Sure. Let's go. I don't know. Okay. You know. Love that. What else is happening in the world?
Starting point is 00:08:17 Well, we should probably start the show. Okay. And then we can get into it. Okay, let's get... Hold on. Now let's get into it. Yeah, let's get into it. Wells and Brandy. What are we getting into, Brandy? Wells.
Starting point is 00:12:23 We all know that I live under a rock and that I don't ever know what's going on in the world, right? Yeah, I would say that's fair. I don't keep up with the news. I don't keep up with really anything. Matt has enlightened me to this whole mom that killed her three kids thing. And the trial that's currently happening. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've seen a little bit of this.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I can't believe you haven't brought this up. Dude, they haven't made a documentary about it yet. I got away for that information to come out. They haven't, but Matt made me watch the 2020 special last night. Oh, that's on Hulu, I think, right? It's on Hulu. And I didn't know anything about it. Like, all week he's been like, what are your thoughts on this mom that killed us or kids?
Starting point is 00:13:03 I'm like, I have no idea what you're talking about. Yeah. So last night, I was like, we've got to watch something new. So I have something to talk about on my podcast. and he was like, this is what we're going to watch because you need to know about this. And you can talk about this on your podcast. And he was like, also I secretly just like want to know your thoughts. And I was like, okay.
Starting point is 00:13:19 So we watched this little 2020 special that basically just like shows some of the court footage. I guess like the trial just happened, you know. And it was a mistrial, I guess. So did she kill them kids or what? Yes. Yeah, she definitely did. And she admitted it. Like I think like it's from what I gather, this chick killed her three kids.
Starting point is 00:13:39 tried to kill herself, failed. So because she didn't die, she then had to, like, admit that she did it. But they're trying to get her off by saying she was mentally unsound when she did it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which here's my thing.
Starting point is 00:13:58 I just don't, like, I don't understand this loophole because to me, two things can be true. She can have killed her three kids and she can be mentally unsound. Like, both of those things can be true. Even if she is mentally unsound, does that mean we want her walking the streets knowing that she's mentally unsound
Starting point is 00:14:19 and capable of murdering children? Well, I don't think that you get released for that. I think, no, you go to a psych ward. You go to a different part of jail. I don't know. Do you? Because they're claiming, like, she's claiming not guilty. Even though she's saying she did it.
Starting point is 00:14:38 She's saying she's not guilty because she was, having a psychotic break or something. But I'm just like, okay, no one's arguing that you didn't, that you had a psychotic, like, I'll, admit, like, you're probably having a psychotic episode. If you're murdering your children, I still don't, I still think you should be in jail.
Starting point is 00:14:54 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, like, and, but like, apparently there's like, half, half the country is saying that she should be, she shouldn't be charged and she should be released. It's like, what? She killed her three kids. We're not arguing, like, whether it was, like, I, I guess,
Starting point is 00:15:10 a big piece of it is she was prescribed all these medications, which, hello, it's old news that this country has a pharmaceutical drug problem, right? Like a fucking opioid crisis. Like everyone's prescribed way too many pills. Like, that's old news. We've seen all the shows, documentaries, and research and evidence about that. Like, in no world am I saying that these doctors were right to prescribe her all these things. And like, yes, the system failed her in that sense. It's failed a gazillion people. She's not. the only one it's failed. There's a, there's a, freaking opioid crisis in this country. But it doesn't change the fact that she committed a crime and needs to go to jail for murdering her
Starting point is 00:15:50 children. Yeah. You know, I guess, I guess an argument could be made that anytime anyone kills anyone, unless it's like by accident, like a car accident or something, that they are having a mental break. Because a normal person, a sane person would never kill anybody. Unless like, or self-defense. Like, that's okay, I guess, you know, but yeah. So I don't really understand that rule either, but I don't think that if she gets off on that, but I don't think that means you get to walk for free, walk free. I think it means that they send you to different prison, which is more of like a mental ward. I don't think it's a prison though, if she's found not guilty. I think it is. I think you still go to. Can we look this up? Can you find out? What do you want me to look? How do I ask
Starting point is 00:16:29 this question? What's the girl's name? I forget. I don't know. You're the one who watched the thing. I can't believe you don't know about this. I know about it. I just haven't watched it. Yeah, Lindsay Clancy. Okay, let's ask chat. Hey, what's going on with the Lindsay Clancy trial? And if she's found guilty, does she go to jail? Or since it's a mistrial, does she go to like a psych ward? Tell me what's going on. I'm confused.
Starting point is 00:16:52 It sounds like you're talking about the Lindsay Clancy case. The judge declared a miscarriage. So there's no conviction. Prosecutors can choose to retry the case. Right now, she's in a state psychiatric hospital, not present. If she were convicted in a future trial, she pretends to preface. potentially for life. If she's found not guilty by a reason of insanity, typically be committed to a secure psychiatric facility with periodic court reviews.
Starting point is 00:17:19 For how long? It can be a very time. Even the rest of her life, it would depend on ongoing court reviews. I feel like my chat GPT is talking really slowly. It is talking really slow. Yeah. What's going on here? Hey, chat, how do we make you talk faster? You're talking slow like a drunk person. Got it. I can keep it snappier if you like. Quick beats. Less drawn out phrasing. Just let me know if that pace works. Even faster, dude. Great. Sure thing. Faster mode activated. Short sentences. Less fluff. I feel like you're still being slow. Let's go. Let's keep it up. Let's go. Come on, come on, come on. Okay. Punchy and tight now. I think he's drunk. Yeah, maybe you just need to pick a different voice.
Starting point is 00:18:02 No, I like the British guy talking to me. Okay. Like a British man. Well, all that to say. Yeah. So I was right. She's going to do a fucking. is that glory dude you know i just yeah but i just i feel like there's gonna be some fucking loophole where she's gonna go for like a short time and then they're gonna say like she's cured or she's she's not psycho anymore and let her go and yeah i don't know i just have problem with that but yeah i mean listen like i feel like this is like much more controversial than we even realize i think people are going to come for us with this but i like i just why are people going to come for us about this i don't like look it up there's like like specifically women are like saying you know
Starting point is 00:18:38 know she's not guilty like it's not her fault it's the doctors that prescribed her that the drugs it's the postpartum depression it's x y z but it's like all those things can be true like yes those things are true but she still strangled her three children in the basement like yeah what there have to there has to be like repercussions for that otherwise everyone's going to start killing their kids and being like well i had postpartum depression or i you know took a a zanax or a frigging result, whatever it is, you know, I, I just, that's a slippery slope to me. Well, you know what? I'm going to be a rebel here and I'm going to take the side of the dead kids. Okay. And that's who I, that's who I'm championing, champion.
Starting point is 00:19:23 So the reason that the, that it mistriiled is because how many jurors are there like 12 or something? Yeah, 12. All of them except one person found her not guilty. And because the one person stood their ground and said, no, I'm not budging. like this woman killed her kids, she's guilty. The one person wouldn't budge. Now it's a mistrial and they have to do it all over again. Yeah, but that's our court system. I know.
Starting point is 00:19:46 But isn't that crazy that all the others were like, yeah, not guilty? You mean they were all guilty? No, everyone found her not guilty except one person. Oh. Oh. Yes. Well, either she got one hell of a lawyer or she didn't kill those kids. I got to watch this thing. I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:20:03 You got to watch it. She definitely killed. I think she admitted that she killed them. I don't think there's any question about that. I think if you strangle one child, you've got to go to jail. Three children? It's fucking crazy. Anyway, you got to watch it.
Starting point is 00:20:15 All right, all right, all right. I watch it. I watch it. I watch it. I watch it. I watch it. Speaking of killing kids. Ugh.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Whatever. I watched The Whisper Man. Oh, I never finished it. You didn't? No, I just like always watch TV before bed and it was just too icky to watch before bed. I thought it was going to be more like spooky. Now, there is. is a ghost aspect to it, but it's, it's kind of not a main thing. A grieving father and his
Starting point is 00:20:45 young son relocate to a quiet town of Featherbank, which was terrorized by a serial killer known as the Whisperman 15 years earlier, while rumors circulate that Whisperman worked with an accomplice. The Whisper Man on Netflix starring. This cast is insane, by the way. It is. Robert De Niro, Michelle Monaghan, Adam Scott. Michael Keaton and O&T, who's in like every Stephen King thing ever invented. Cass is insane. So Adam Scott plays the father who brings his son back to Featherbank.
Starting point is 00:21:22 But also like, why, like, so his wife passes away. So he's like, you know what we should do? We should move back to the town that your mom grew up in, which is Feather Bank. And you're like, oh, okay. And then you're like, but this is also the town where the whisperman murdered children 15 years ago. Like, why would you move back there, you know? And then Robert De Niro plays Adam Scott's estranged father, who was the police officer who found and brought to justice,
Starting point is 00:21:50 the whisperman who's played by Michael Keaton. Anyways, the whisperman is back. Confusing because Michael Keaton's in jail. How could this be happening? Adam Scott's child gets abducted and taken by the whisperman. Then we're trying to find him and figure out who the new whisperman. is or maybe the old worst man's being able to get that jail. I'm not really sure. Also, for
Starting point is 00:22:11 some reason, the kid's talking to a little girl who's a ghost, which is very scary anyways. I enjoyed it. Okay. I like... Oh. Shut up, chat. We're not talking to you. I enjoyed it. I actually really like the ending. I thought it was really sweet. Oh, okay. Sweet, huh?
Starting point is 00:22:29 Yeah. Interesting. I'll watch it for sure. Yeah, it's not that spooky. Okay. It's not spooky like the way like the exorcist or like the haunting of Hill houses. It's that was a great show.
Starting point is 00:22:42 So good, dude. So good. Like, if you love haunting of Hill House, I'm surprised you haven't watched Widows Bay. It wasn't as good. Although they just went a ton of Emmys. It's so dude, it's amazing. I love Matthew Rise.
Starting point is 00:23:00 Like, the more and more I watch it, the more I'm in like just falling in love with this man. Um, I guess like, Widows Bay, though, is more like comedy, right? Then Hill House wasn't comedy at all. Yeah, no, it's Stephen King. That's funny. Yeah, it's not really my jam.
Starting point is 00:23:17 You can go for the horror and, you know, I tried. Leave with the comedy. Yeah. Yeah. What's it like on having a sense of humor? Does that, does it offend you? Does it suck?
Starting point is 00:23:28 What's going on? Some days it sucks, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You can't force, you got to force yourself to laugh, sister. Nah. No, don't need it. Don't need it at all. That's wild. No, I'm good. Whoa. Yeah. You guys, I know it's August, but fall is so close. I can almost feel it. I have officially started fall wardrobe shopping. I am done with summer clothes. And as you guys know, one of my favorite places to online shop is Quince. I love that Quince does elevated everyday essentials using premium materials. Anything from like basic teas and tanks, they have an organic cotton collection that I'm obsessed with.
Starting point is 00:24:11 But when it comes to fall and transitioning into winter, I am so in love with their Mongolian cashmere sweaters. Get this. They start at just $50. So you're getting something super luxurious, but at a completely acceptable price point. So you're getting luxury, but without that luxury price tag. Starting point is 00:26:10 Okay. I face-time. I guess the only person I FaceTime is Matt. Like if Matt's not here and we call each other, it's usually a FaceTime call. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But other than that, not really. I live on FaceTime because my wife's in London.
Starting point is 00:26:25 And so like it's the only way that we can feel like we are you know, somewhat close to one another. And so we've gotten into this thing where we FaceTime, not really on our phones because it gets hard to hold your phone up. So I'll use my laptop. She uses her iPad. She's got a new iPad. I've got a new laptop.
Starting point is 00:26:44 There is a function on this new FaceTime. I don't understand what's happening. It's constantly zooming in and zooming out. What? Oh my God. It's like an episode of The Office, you know, Like where they like rack in for like a facial expression and then rack out and it's like I'm getting fucking motion sickness. You know, I feel like Apple is solving problems that we don't have because they can't solve any other new problems.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Like the real problems. Like Tim Cook is like, you know, it goes up in front of all those people with those, you know, Apple like releases or whatever. And he's like, none of you guys wanted this, but we finally did it. We figured out to have a drunk cameraman zoom in and zoom out of your face when you do FaceTimes, because you guys didn't ask for it. We've got nothing left to do because we've kind of done it all. These things have technologically they advance as far as they possibly can. So now we're doing weird shit with it.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Do you want a phone that fucking folds up like a taco? Oh, we got it, buddy. Ah, yeah. You want a camera that zooms in and zooms out and zooms in and zooms out? Yes. Do you want apps that delete themselves? from your phone so then when you have to use them, you got to download, we can make that happen.
Starting point is 00:28:01 We got a lot of shit you don't need, and you're still going to buy these fucking phones. That was great. Don't you feel like that's happening now? I feel like they're just solving issues that we don't have. Yeah, they are. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Surely you can turn the Zoom off. Surely, but do you think that I know how to do that? No. You think that anyone knows how to do that? No. I don't think so either. Yeah. You know those commercials, those progressive commercials
Starting point is 00:28:24 that are really good, actually. it's a solid bit where it's like, progressive can't help you from becoming your parents, you know? Yes. Yes, it is a good bit. It's so funny because it's like just so spot on. And I've always laughed at like,
Starting point is 00:28:37 me, my parents are like that. That's my parents are like that. And it finally happened, Brandy, where I was like, oh no. You're like that. That's me now. Oh, no. Yikes.
Starting point is 00:28:49 I'm watching it. I'm watching myself age in real time. It's not good. All right? No. So the most recent one I saw was the main guy is like the guy who's coaching them. He's got a mustache. He's very funny.
Starting point is 00:29:03 He brings it an influencer. He's like, this is an influencer. Have you not seen this one? No, I haven't. Okay, let me see if I can find it because I want you to listen to it. This is Zach. He's a social media influencer. There's a lot young homeowners.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Don't understand about the internet. People just watch you watching videos. Yeah, it's a reaction video. You must be good at reacting to video. What are you doing there? Oh, this is me trying on hats. So you sell hats? Uh, no.
Starting point is 00:29:31 So you work for the thrift store. I was just trying them on and fell myself. Why'd you do that? Progressive can't save you from becoming your parents, but we can't save you money when you bundle home and auto with us. This is just you open in a box of sneakers. This one is just you brushing your teeth. Uh, yeah, it's a get ready with me.
Starting point is 00:29:47 To do what? How funny is that? Yeah, it's just so true. So, this is just a video you've tried on hats. Yeah. Do you sell hats? No. What? This is just a video of you brushing your teeth. Yeah, to get ready with me. Like, it's so funny because it's like, what are you guys doing? I know. It's just gone way too far. It has. What I hate about that is, is that I do find myself watching those things. Oh, really? The reaction video, that like angers me to my core. the reaction video. You know, where it's like someone who's cooking something. So it's like, okay, that's actually a cool thing.
Starting point is 00:30:30 I do want to watch and I want to learn how to make this like spicy pasta or whatever. And then it's split screen with the guy being like, whoa, look at that. I'm like, shut the, you've done nothing. All right? This guy did, you're just using this guy's talent to do what? I'm offended by those people. I see it a lot with music. It'll be like someone's reaction to like, like, Milie's new song.
Starting point is 00:30:52 You know, they'll be like, all right, the reaction. video to Miley's new single. Yeah. And they'll just sit there and like comment on it along the way. I'm like, this is not, this is silly. I do like the reaction videos where it's like black people hearing white people music for the first time and them liking it. Have you seen that?
Starting point is 00:31:09 No, I haven't. He's like, you know, like some rapper or whatever being like, all right, what's this Noah Kahn shit? And then they're like, oh, he's dropping bars. And I'm like, yeah, yeah. We're not so different. That sounds funny. Yeah, it's very, very funny. Yeah, or like when people hear like Chris Stapleton's voice,
Starting point is 00:31:33 they're just like, holy shit, dude. I like that. That's funny. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Because that's bringing people together. True.
Starting point is 00:31:41 But being like, you got to watch this. And that's all you've done in the video. Or like, check this out. Or it's just the one that really gets me, it's a funny video. And the person's just laughing, but you can't even hear their laugh. Shut up, you dumb. I hate you so much. But I'm doing fine.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Everything's fine. Are you? I don't know. What's going on? Speaking of people I hate. Oh. I hate Jaden Smith. So much.
Starting point is 00:32:12 All right? I don't think there's a person I hate more in this world than Jaden Smith. That's crazy. I know. Every time I see him on my screen, it aggravates me. I've got a video, okay? Just, first of all, I don't know what the fuck this kid's wearing. It is camo with pearls attached to it and like, I just,
Starting point is 00:32:34 uh-huh. Shut up, dude. What is this? Okay, first off. And then this is what he says. He does carpentry for his friends. Like, can I build you a bed? Like, can I build your bed frame?
Starting point is 00:32:49 No, Satan. Okay, and like, I'll go away for like a long time and like get my, circular handsaw and my drills, my riotous. I literally build them a bed frame. I'll like write a note for them and like put it on the thing and then like drill into the bed frame so that they can't read the note until such a long time has passed that they actually have to disassemble the bed. And then they disassemble the bed and find like this note in it and it's like from me like I'm a carpenter. Like I build shit with my hands when I'm bored. Okay. You're not a carpenter. You're a douchebag. All right? And you know what? You know what kid?
Starting point is 00:33:22 Ain't no way you're any good at that, all right? Listen, there's some guy up in Vermont who's like studied under some old guy who's studied under some old guy who's an absolutely fantastic woodworker and has been making bed frames that actually last and stand the test of time. That kid's never learned how to do shit, okay? You're telling me that this guy went to like new Yankee workshop and learned under the tutelage of a real carpenter. No, he's going to Home Depot getting crap two by fours. You know those bed frames suck. You know they suck so hard. But then they're just like an adorned with like weird tapestries and weird stuff. Here's what off me.
Starting point is 00:34:04 I don't like that you can pass off weird as art. I just think that's it's lazy. Have you seen his shoes? You know? The fact that like Balenciaga gives this kid money to make stuff is offensive. I just don't like the Smiths in general. I got to be honest with you. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:34:23 This rant's insane. Doesn't that kid annoy you? No. I think it's great that he's spending some free time doing something so wholesome. When I really love someone, I make him a bed frame. And then I, and then you know what I do? And then I drive a handwritten note and I drill it into the bed frame. And then they can't find that note until they have to disassemble it.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Why they disassembling it? because it's a piece of garbage. Probably. And then you find some weird note in the bed. Gross, dude. This is the, I think the problem with, like, why we might need, like, a French revolution and we need to, like, kill the bourgeoisie because bourgeoisie. Anyways, because I think that that family has too much money. And now they're doing this stuff.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Doing carpentry. Not good carpentry either. Bad carpentry. You know there's a part of Jaden that thinks he's Jesus, right? Like that's what that, what that's why? This is just like very personal, it seems. Anyway, I'm sure he's a lovely person. Are you okay?
Starting point is 00:35:32 I'm not. I'm all alone here. I know. It's not good to be alone this much, actually. It's starting to wear on me a little bit. It's really not great. Yeah. Anyways, far goes the butt.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Maybe you should get like a coffee shop job so that you have to be around people like once a week. Maybe I should start getting into carpentry. Brandy, you're, I don't think that would put you around people. No, but do you need a new bed?
Starting point is 00:35:58 I can also like whittle a note into the bed frame, which would that would be creepy. Not good at all. Yeah, I don't think Matt would like that at all actually. Yeah, I wouldn't like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:36:08 I don't blame them actually. Oh, I watched a pretty good movie the other day. I didn't finish it though yet. Called Signal 1. It's a pretty good cast. Signal 1. It tells the story of a computer scientist who's recruited by a tech billionaire to work on a project that could change humanity's place in the universe.
Starting point is 00:36:27 Signal 1. Starring. Isabel Furman, Dennis Quaid, David Twills, Josh Hutcherson. Dennis Quaid plays the tech billionaire. Isabel Furman. She wrote an algorithm that was able to see dark matter in the universe. and then Josh Hutcherson plays, I think, like a mechanical engineer. And they both get picked off by Dennis Quaid and sent to this like island to go work on this project with this like insane but also genius code or whatever named Perry Glastner.
Starting point is 00:37:11 And effectively they figure out a way to talk to aliens. And they opened some sort of like portal. Okay. Using like quantum mechanics and quantum computing and stuff. Mm-hmm. And entanglement. I don't know. I can't get into the science of it all.
Starting point is 00:37:30 I only got watched half of it, but I liked, I liked the first part. And I think, I think you should check it out. That sounds really good. Right? Where do you watch this? Hulu. Hulu. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:37:40 Hulu's got some good stuff, actually, these days. Okay. The other thing on Hulu that I finished that I really liked, And you can find out like all of my thoughts on it on my other podcast with by order to the faithfuls. Dancing with the Stars, the next pro. Oh yeah. You were loving that show. I love it.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Yeah. It looks like I think Dancing with the Stars is coming back soon. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think like in the next couple of weeks. Ooh, that's exciting. Have you seen the cast for it?
Starting point is 00:38:08 I've seen a couple of pairs. Yeah, like Mark and. Mora. Yeah. Jenna DeWan's doing it. I saw that. Tyler Cameron's doing it Saw that
Starting point is 00:38:19 Oh Julia Stiles Wasn't she in a dance movie? Yeah Well Jenna Dewan's a dancer I know Yeah Yeah, DeWan should be one of the pros I know
Starting point is 00:38:33 I don't understand You know Yeah I do Who do think gets paid more The judges or the hosts of that show Probably the judges Okay so it's hosted by Alfonso And Julian Huff right
Starting point is 00:38:46 But then the judges are Derek Huff, Carrie Anna and Bruno. Like, do you think makes more money? Derek or Julianne? Julian. You do, but Derek's the judge. Oh, sorry, not Julian's, his sister.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Carrie Ann is who I think makes probably more money than Derek. Yeah. She's been doing it for so long. And you know what? She's got a harder job. She has to be the mean one. She does. So, like, I don't know if it works.
Starting point is 00:39:12 I wonder how contracts work with something like that where it's like, you guys need to pay me more because everyone hates me, you know? Yeah. Like, that's worth something. I just think because she's been on it so long, she's probably got a pretty good fee going.
Starting point is 00:39:25 I know. Same with Bruno. I know. But to honest with you, be honest with you, Derek's the one I like the most. Really? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:39:32 because he's positive, but then he's also like he's really, he like knows his stuff, right? Mm-hmm. He's a good judge. I like him. Yeah, too. And like Guillermo's doing it.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Like, that's just like a Jimmy Kimmel bit, I guess. Yeah. Like it's purely just for like cross-pollination between like Blachio and this, right? But he's going to get kicked off immediately. Oh. Who's going to win this thing?
Starting point is 00:39:56 Jenna Dewan. Maybe. So here's a thing like why it's a risk for someone like Jenna Dewan to go on. She should win this thing. Uh-huh. She's, I think of all the stars, she's the biggest star. Okay. Her or Julia Stiles, I think.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Like they're like legitimate stars to me. Uh-huh. And Jenna Dewan's known for. for dancing. I know. That'd be like if Sarah did like voice show, you know, like that's not fair. You're good at that. Right.
Starting point is 00:40:24 Right. I wonder if people will start voting off people they think are overqualified. Turn on them. Yeah. I could see that happening. Yeah. So like the only person from the Bachelor world is Tyler Cameron. That's because the Bachelor hasn't been on air.
Starting point is 00:40:37 No. It's crazy. Yeah. Who's your favorite pro? I love Daniela. She danced with. Ezra French is who she's dancing with. She danced with Dylan last time.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. She's so good. I like Whitney Carson. She's got Guillermo. That sucks. She's not making it very far there. That sucks. That sucks for you.
Starting point is 00:40:59 I also like Jenna Johnson. And then for the boys. I love Mark. Yeah, Mark is great. So he's one of the judges on the next pro. He's fantastic. Oh, yeah. It's him and his mom, and all they do is fucking fight the entire time.
Starting point is 00:41:11 It's hilarious. It's funny. Wouldn't they give them a show. I know. They hate each other and love each other. It's like so it's so relatable. That's cute. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:21 I also like Val. Val's a nice guy. Anyways, I'm excited about that. Yeah, me too. The one show that I do want to watch that I haven't started watching yet is called Mr. In Between. I think it's an Australian TV show. Ray Shoesmith is a father, ex-husband, boyfriend, brother and best friend. Tough roles to juggle in the modern age, especially when you're also a criminal for hire.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Mr. In Between on FX and Hulu. I've just been seeing clips of it on TikTok, and I'm like, that looks pretty awesome, kind of like this. Okay, I haven't heard of it. Anyways, I'm going to start watching that, I think, today, mystery in between. Are you watching the new season of Dark Matter?
Starting point is 00:42:01 Yeah, but I haven't seen episode two yet. Is it good? Yeah, I'm loving it. All right, I do love Dark Matter. Have you watched the end of Silo? No, I haven't. I need to do that this week. I need to get in on that one as well.
Starting point is 00:42:12 I haven't finished it. I've been gone for a while. Yeah, dark matter is great. And then what was the other? Oh, I was going to ask you, are you loving lanterns or no? I like the first couple episodes or yeah. I'm not loving it. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:28 I don't know where they're going with it. I do like Kyle Chandler a lot. Like, I think he's just a good actor. He's amazing. And it's a fun part of like this kind of aging superhero. I'm going to stick with it. I'm not going to give up on it. Yeah, I wish I liked it better more than I do.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Mainly because I feel like it's going to be canon in the Marvel universe, so like I should know about it before like the next Avengers or whatever. We got some DMs here in response to the milk debate. Oh. I love this. A lot of YFT years DM'd and the overall consensus was no to the adult milk drinking. And a lot of them agree with Wells that it could be the cause of Brandy's gut issues. There were some very proud milk drinkers.
Starting point is 00:43:13 though, so Brandy isn't completely alone on this one. I think that you should try not drinking milk for like a week and just see what happens. The thing is, though, you know who got me back into drinking milk is Matt? The government? Oh, okay. No, Matt. And I was having gut problems before I started drinking. I mean, I've never cut out dairy. I've always had cheese and ice cream, which has milk in it.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Like, I've had milk, but I haven't ever bought like whole milk from the store until, like, a year into my relationship with Matt and then I was like maybe I will give it a go but I was having gut problems before, wait, way before that. So, I don't think that's it. But I will tell you.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Yeah. I do feel a hell of a lot better not eating gluten. Yeah. I really do. I hate to say it because I was that person that was like I had friends that were gluten free and shit and I'd be like, I'll never give up bread.
Starting point is 00:44:11 I love gluten, you know? Like I wasn't really like getting like sick over it the way somebody with celiac disease would. But cutting it out, I do feel a lot better. Really? In what in what respect? Like you've got more energy or? Yeah. More.
Starting point is 00:44:28 And I feel like I'm less inflamed. I have more energy. I do feel like my gut is getting better. Like it's so crazy. You're going to think this is insane. But like the other day, let me ask you a question. Does your stomach growl? Like do you hear your stomach make noises when you're hungry?
Starting point is 00:44:42 Very rarely. Okay. Mine did that the other day. It like my stomach growled, which is stomach acid in your stump, right? Like that's what that sound is. And that was the first time I had heard it do that and God knows how long. Like I can't remember the last time I heard my stomach make noises. I think it's supposed to because part of my gut problem is I have very low stomach acid or did like when I took that test.
Starting point is 00:45:08 And like for the first time I fucking, I can hear stomach acid in my. my stomach again. I think that's a good thing. All right. Isn't that crazy? It was like it was just something that I didn't realize that wasn't happening until it until it did again. And I was like, fuck. I haven't heard my stomach do that. And I don't know how long. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Crazy. But like just little things like that that after cutting gluten out for a few months, I feel like it's getting better. All right. I don't know. TMI, but like I poop better. You know, we cover a lot of stuff on this show, Brandy. let's not get into that. Let's not start. I'm just saying I do.
Starting point is 00:45:46 All right. You want to tell me about the, tell me about the BM? How is it solid? Is it? No, we don't need to go there. Exactly. That's funny you know that it's improved.
Starting point is 00:45:58 That's good. You know, equality is improved. Gross, dude. Do you and Matt have different restrooms that you use to crap in? No, he doesn't. He just,
Starting point is 00:46:13 I mean, No, we don't. No. Wow. I want to say, listen, I think the key to a healthy marriage is having separate bathrooms. I do. Like maybe Matt, you're going to be like, you have to use the half bath downstairs. Like, that's the rule.
Starting point is 00:46:32 He won't. Why? Because he'll just use the one closest to him at all times. Okay, well, then you use the half bath. We don't have a half bath at the new house, but we have. like a guest bathroom downstairs right next to my office. So like that'll probably be like more like the bathroom I use. Okay.
Starting point is 00:46:53 Probably. But he will also use it, I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah. All right. On that note, what's coming up? Or coming out? Well, I was supposed to go to L.A. next week, but I don't think I am now.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Why? Because we're so behind on the house. There's just so much to do. We were supposed to move in over the weekend. Now we're not moving in until Wednesday. And I was supposed to leave Friday. And I just feel bad, like moving all of the dogs to a new foreign house and just dumping them and being like, see ya. And leaving them in like a new place.
Starting point is 00:47:31 I just don't feel good about that. So I think I'm going to stay here next week and finish painting and make sure the dogs get settled. Okay. But I do have a show in Nashville in a couple weeks. I may have mentioned it last week, but they opened a Palm Tree Club downtown on Broadway. I've played at Palm Tree Club in Miami and, well, there are other venues. But yeah, Palm Tree Nashville, grand opening this weekend. Kiggo's playing.
Starting point is 00:47:58 And then next weekend, Saturday, the September 19th, your girl will be doing a late-night DJ set. Come hang out if you're in Nashville. The place was called Chiefs, or maybe it still is and it's the rooftop. I'm not sure. But anyway, I'll post a info about that next week. So I've got that. And then, yeah, I'm just kind of here this month, working on the house, finishing the house, and then in October I start traveling some more.
Starting point is 00:48:19 What are you doing? Nothing really. I was just up in Pebble Beach doing this really cool thing called the Crew Cup, which is a golf tournament with the philanthropic goal. I have an amazing story about it, but I feel like I need to wait to tell it. But I was playing with like Steph Curry and Ben Rothesberger and Drew Breeze. Maybe I'll tell the story. Go ahead. Okay, so you're not going to know what this is,
Starting point is 00:48:48 but at golf tournaments, you have a thing called a derby, right? Okay. So it's different from like the normal tournament that you're playing in. It's like this kind of like fun side quest that you do. So we did a derby who was at Palo Beach. It was very cool.
Starting point is 00:49:02 And so we all started like on one hole. There was like six of us in the hole, right? And then you play the, so it was like three groups of six or four groups of six. We had a lot of people there. So you play the hole. And then whoever makes the word,
Starting point is 00:49:14 worst score, they're out. And then you go play another hole and whoever makes the worst score, they're out. You gotta whittle people down until it comes to, until there's just two people in the group. And then when you have two people in each group, then you combine back up for another six and then you go to kind of like figure out who's gonna be the winner, right? Okay. So the first hole we were playing, it was like a, it was like a, we were playing as a part three, it was number eight. And we were hitting over the ocean to the green. And I snap hooked mine 40 yards left. Everyone was making fun of me. And I'm like, yeah, but I'm not in the water. Like, I can get up and down. I don't need to be the best. I just need to be not the worst, right?
Starting point is 00:49:51 So I make four. I get into a chip off. I win the chip off so I move on. Go to the next hole. Get into another chip off. Win the chip off. Go on to the next hole. It's par three, number five at Pebble. Get into a chip off. Closest there. Win. Go on to the next hole. So now I'm in the final group, right? Well, there's just, it's just, it's a number. It's just, it. It's, There's just three of us. It's me, Ben Rothesberger, and Steph Curry, okay? Okay. Playing a par five, famous whole up, Pella Beach, number six, right?
Starting point is 00:50:21 Bomb a drive. Hit my second shot to about 20 yards short of the grain, right? I'm in like the driver's seat. Not able to get up and down for Bertie. I make par, so does Ben, so does Steph. So we get into a chip off, okay? And when you do these chip-offs, you can't watch the other people because if you see how it goes, then you know how to play it, right?
Starting point is 00:50:42 So you have to keep your back turned to the players. And you pick, you pick like teas or straws effectively. So I was last. So I hear, you can hear people like responding or like it being like, oh, nice shot or whatever. But I have no idea. So I hit mine. I'm the closest. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Ben Rothesberger's out. It's down to me and Steph Curry. That's insane. So we go to number seven. Famous hole, downhill par three. Now, it's almost dark out right now. We can't see anything. We've got 40 people on the green watching this thing.
Starting point is 00:51:16 This is for $50,000 whoever wins it, right? We throw T's as he goes first. Steph gets the honors. He goes, puts it to like 25 feet. I'm up next. I hit mine. I put it to about 20 feet. Okay?
Starting point is 00:51:29 So we go down there. Steph putts. He misses this put. I've got a put to, if I make it, I win $50,000 off of Steph. Right? I lip out. I miss it. Just buy a little bit.
Starting point is 00:51:40 Par, par, go back up. Steph and I are like, all right, let's go. High five, you know, whatever, fist bump. Let's go back up. Same thing. He goes, now, we're hitting the ball. It's almost dark out. So you can't see the ball off the club face,
Starting point is 00:51:53 but you can see it when it lands on the green because we've kind of like lit up the green. Steph hits his. It almost goes in. It's an inch away from the hole. I hit mine to like 20 feet. I get down there. I've given Steph his put like he's not going to miss it.
Starting point is 00:52:08 I've got to make mine. Now, before we went and hit those, we were walking back up the hill to go hit. I was like, Steph, do you want to split this? You just want to go 25, 25 and call it the day? And he was like, no, dude. And I'm like, all right, fair enough. So I got to make this putt just to like keep it going.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Miss the putt, low side. Steph Curry wins $50,000. I was the runner up. And to be honest with you, it was the most amazing experience of my life. Wow. I mean, going head to head with arguably one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Yep.
Starting point is 00:52:40 who's a very good golfer with all those people watching. It was... I don't know how you do that. I would be fucking nervous as fuck. And it was crazy as I had this caddy who was a crazy person. He was like cracking jokes. He kept on like doing like ninja stuff with the pin. And he was he was so wild that like I couldn't focus on the stress of the $50,000 and trying
Starting point is 00:53:04 to do well. I was just focused on like, this guy's going crazy over here, which actually like worked somehow. This all sounds very stressful. Oh, very stressful. But how cool is that story? Very cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:18 Would have been cooler if you won, but cool. I know. I was kind of hoping Steph was going to like kick me down like 10K, you know, but that didn't happen either. You know, just like from my troubles. Uh-huh. Anyways, that was a very cool. They videotaped the whole thing, but we have to get Pebble Beach to like agree to let us put it out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:38 So I don't know if it's. ever going to see the light today, but I've got it on my, I've got like video of it on my phone. And it's pretty wild. It's like, that's crazy. You know that Sesame Street thing? It was like Ben Rothesberger, Steph Curry, and then me was like, one of these things is not like the other. Everyone was like, everyone was rooting for me because they're like, you know who doesn't need the money? The guy who just signed the $100 million contract.
Starting point is 00:54:00 Literally. Everyone was like, come on reality TV bartender. Let's go. Oh my God. That's insane. Yeah, it was cool. Well, that's all I got. All right.
Starting point is 00:54:14 Well, cool story, Wells. I wish you'd won, though. I know. But that's okay. You know, it wasn't $50,000. It, like, it would have been, it would have been worse if I, like, missed the green and he won with a par. But the fact that he, he almost made a hole in one. It's like, well, that's crazy.
Starting point is 00:54:29 What can you do, you know? And it's, like, also, like, the most deaf thing in the world. Like, of course he's going to make it from fucking deep. And, you know, who I'm just a mere mortal going up against a God. But he was very nice And it was cool to feel like equal with him for a second Do you know what I'm saying? Totally.
Starting point is 00:54:48 I had beat everyone out and like it was like Yeah. I'm right there with. Yeah. Like the greatest shooter of all time. Yeah. Ray Allen was there. The other greatest shooter of all time.
Starting point is 00:54:58 Wow. Drew Breeze experienced me going up against Steph Curry. You know? Thomas Rett. Shee Mooney from Dan and Shea. They all got to see my greatness. Wow. Now did I win a single match on our team? No. Was I considered the worst? Yes. Was I put in bad situations? Also yes, because they made me play people that were much better than me. I'd play Michael Pena twice. Dude, that guy's, I play with that guy all the time. He's better than me. Don't put me up against him. Sacrificial lamb. But you know what? Paid off. I took Steph Curry down to the wire. All right, why have tears? We love you.
Starting point is 00:55:38 Love that for you. Love that for everyone. Yeah. See you later. See you next week. Bye. Bye.
