Starting point is 00:00:00 This podcast is brought to you by Podcast Nation. What's up? Hi. How you doing? Oh, I'm good. Guess what I've been doing. What are you been doing? More painting.
Starting point is 00:00:12 Oh, my God. When will the painting end? Never. I'm sorry. It looks white back there, though. That's good. This room hasn't been touched. This will be the last room to get done, I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Oh, really? Because it's mine. Why don't you just paint yourself? Because I'm busy painting the fucking upstairs. Yeah. It's funny, today was supposed to be Matt's data paint, and somehow I got drug into it. Where's Matt? He's upstairs painting.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Oh. Well, so it still was his data paint. Yeah, but I thought he was going to do all of it. Oh, okay. Somehow he swindled me back in. Gotcha, gotcha. Yeah. Swindled me.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Well, normally you're doing worse than me, but not now. I had the worst weekend ever. I'm sorry, Wells. I know. If I could change it and my weekend be the worst ever, I would do it. Yeah, I believe that. And I would trade with you too. I would paint.
Starting point is 00:01:11 As much as I hate painting, I like it better than having to say goodbye to my dad. But, yeah. You know, he lived a full life. He ran a good race. He was 85 years old. He had five kids who are all normal. Well. Yeah, you know.
Starting point is 00:01:29 He was a doctor and a pilot and a veteran and he lived in Monterey and he played golf and hunted and fished. So he had a good life. And, you know, if I've learned anything about this is nobody gets out of here alive. That's true. And if I could also give one other piece of advice to the YFTers out there. Yes. Make sure that you have everything taken care of now with wills and what you want. if you get really hurt or if you get put on an incubator of some sort.
Starting point is 00:02:02 It is so important. And the other thing is, is that whoever's in charge of those things should not be your family. It should be someone that you trust as a friend because it makes things a lot easier. You have certain wishes at the end of your life. Yeah. Not one of my favorite things.
Starting point is 00:02:19 I feel like it's pretty rare that people have their shit together for that. I know. I feel like I'm pretty young, but I was driving back from, my hometown and I was like if I learned anything it's I need to talk to a lawyer like yesterday about all this stuff. You don't have a will? I don't have a will because it's like well what?
Starting point is 00:02:38 I've told my wife you can have all the money. I know but it doesn't matter. If it's it'll go to court it'll end up in what's it called fucking probate probate court like it takes part like it's you can't do that you got to have it all. I know I told my brother he can have my car. You can't my land cruiser. You can't just tell him. It has to all be in a thing.
Starting point is 00:02:58 I know. You also need to say that what you want. Do you want to be buried? Do you want to be cremated? All that stuff. All of it. So you have a will? Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:06 What am I getting? I did it last year. What am I getting out of all this? You're just going to have to wait and find out. Am I getting the bell that I gave you? Maybe. Yeah. You probably don't want anything that's in my will.
Starting point is 00:03:19 Everyone's, my entire will is dedicated to all the animals. It's essentially delegating who gets to take care of which animals and how much money they get to do it. All right. I'll take a donkey. You could take a donkey in California. Yeah, come on. Bring them on over here.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah. Yeah, that's that's, that was, I mean, I guess that everyone's probably not surprised by that. But that was my biggest concern was if something happened to me and I got an accident, like what, what would happen to all my animals and such a financial burden for someone else to take your animals like a kid. So I just wanted to make sure that it was in writing, who took who. and that every animal I've, you know, agreed to care for for its life
Starting point is 00:04:02 also has a bank account to go with it. But yeah, it is, it's important to have it all, you know? Anything else going on? You mean, you're painting, you know. I hear him coming down here. Baby? Hello? You glad you're off the hook?
Starting point is 00:04:16 Well, if Wells wasn't up to podcasting, you and I were going to do it. He says you're a trooper. I didn't know. I'm very sorry to hear about he's all going to look like he was about us. Did you hear him? Yes, I did. Thank you. Tell him thank you.
Starting point is 00:04:27 He says thank you. He did. He was like looking through your Instagram post and he was like, Manuel's dad really was living large. He said he was a stud. He was like he's doing all the things. All the things Matt wants to be doing. Flying planes and looking at pussy for a living. Playing golf and all the things. Yeah. Let me tell you something. You can tell him the gynecologist isn't cracked up as you think it is. Oh, yeah. Well, ain't no one's going there because everything's great, you know? He says no one's going to the gynecologist because things are great down there. He says, it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Starting point is 00:05:04 He did, wait, your dad came on the podcast. Yeah, we had early, early on. On the phone, early on and told us that, didn't he tell it on the podcast that like women come in with ugs but no socks? Yeah. And take their ugs off and you know you had to put your feet up in those stirrups. And like the smell is apparently just like atrocious. Yes. I mean, I'm sure it's not.
Starting point is 00:05:26 only thing but yeah yeah coupled coupled with other things coupled with other smells i'm sure so yeah not sure like that profession is really i'm not sure you're cut out for yeah because you got a really good Matt did used to um like way back like when he was teenager used to be a piercer oh really and he's dealt with that in the piercing world yeah having to pierced uh labia's Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Do you ever have to pierce a man-man situation? Jacob's Ladder, I believe it's called.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Oh, probably. Wow. But I don't know. He doesn't tell those stories. But he's told some stories about. Yeah. Down there. And, oh.
Starting point is 00:06:15 That's, I don't know. I've never come across anyone with one of them. Really? In my journeys through this world. I've never come across up like that. That's actually, I'm surprised. by that a little. Really? A little.
Starting point is 00:06:28 I've seen it on film. On film, you say. To be honest with you... What kind of film? What kind of film? Are you watching? Yeah, you know. I actually don't even know if I've... No, I think I have.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Been with someone who had a tongue ring. I've actually never... Never kissed anybody with a tongue ring. Yeah. Yeah, it's weirder if a guy has a tongue ring, though. Yeah, I guess so, yeah. Yeah. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:06:52 I feel like in the 90s, though, that shit was very popular. Yeah, for sure. Not that I was... I wasn't doing much in the 90s, if anything, right? Like, yeah. No. Well, next time Matt talks about labia piercings, you need to be like, did you ever do a Jacobs Ladder?
Starting point is 00:07:06 A Jacobs Ladder, I'll ask him. Let me look up Jacob's Ladder. Okay, Jacob's Ladder originally refers to a biblical dream from the book of Genesis where the Patriarch Jacob's He's a Letter. Whoa, that's not other meanings. Oh, no, yeah. In modern slang and body modification culture, Jacob's Ladder, also called a
Starting point is 00:07:26 Freedom Ladder, is a series of multiple horizontal genital piercings running down the underside of the male shaft. That sounds horrible. Yeah, that sounds like if you do sex, it's going to like pull on them, you know?
Starting point is 00:07:41 Yeah, that doesn't sound nice at all. I don't know why you would you do that? Not sure. All right, if any YFT years out there have Jacob's Ladders or been around Jacob's Ladders, we need to know how this all works. Send us a voice. message. 858630 1856. I think we're going to post the image of it this week on the Instagram. but I got one for all the dogs. It was just so easy to make. They're so cute. I love them, and they're just the perfect gift.

Starting point is 00:12:19 That's fine. To be fair. Like I said, I'm surprised you were up for it. No, I actually did my other show too today. I mean, you can't, you got to keep going, you know? I know. And also my dad would have been like. But it's important to grieve.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Totally. My dad would have been like, fuck, I can go back to work, dude. What are you talking about? You know, come on. Be a man. Sure. So I haven't watched a whole lot of stuff, but I have watched some stuff that I've absolutely loved. Well, I got a couple things.
Starting point is 00:12:44 All right. You want to go first? Sure. Ladies first. Have you started? East of Eden on Netflix. That's what I was going to bring up. We've talked about this before,
Starting point is 00:12:56 but my favorite book is East of Eden. Mm-hmm. Because I grew up... I grew up in Salinas, where they are. Right. And that's where John Steinbeck, he lived in Salinas and he lived in Monterey. I grew up in Monterey.
Starting point is 00:13:11 So as kids, I've read every single John Steinbeck novel. Tortilla Flats, the Pearl, grapes of wrath, I didn't love so much, of mice and men. Oh, yeah, yeah. Cannery Row I loved. But East of Eden is fantastic. It's always my favorite novel.
Starting point is 00:13:27 It's so fucked up. And I was really excited to see that this came out. Well, first impressions, do you like it or no? I think it's beautiful. I will say that. I'm going to start with things I like, and then I'll tell you things I don't like. Okay, because for someone that loved the book that much,
Starting point is 00:13:42 I'm sure you have a lot of thoughts on it. Because I read it a long time ago, but I don't, like, I read it one time, and it was what I, like, it wasn't like, it's not my favorite book. So it's been a long time for me to even remember what happens and what doesn't. Yeah. For me, I'm really enjoying this show, but I don't know how accurate it is to the book.
Starting point is 00:13:59 I've read it, I mean, three or four times, but it's been probably 10 years since I've read it. So even for me, it's a little like, I don't know. I will say this, though, the guy who plays Charles, Mike Faced, is phenomenal. So good. He is, I'm like blown away with how good he is and like his choices too. and I'm just like really, really into him. And I think that Christopher Abbott, who plays Adam, is doing a very good job, serviceable job.
Starting point is 00:14:27 And then Florence Pugh is a fantastic actress. My complaint about the show comes through her, but it's not her problem. It's the writing. They've tried to make her be a sympathetic character or tried to justify the way that she is. And I saw some interview where it's like, you know, Steinbeck's,
Starting point is 00:14:48 misogyny was showing and, you know, villainizing women and all this stuff. But like, that's not really what the point of the story is. The point of the story is, is that can these two kids who were born within such evil become good people? And so there's a part of me that's like, okay, I guess it's nice that I know why she is the way she is and she has this origin story. Sure. But I don't care because what she ends up doing is so incredibly terrible that nothing that happened to her could justify what happens. All that to be said, I forgot about how much I love the character of Lee.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Lee was my man. What a fucking amazing character Lee is. Have you gotten to Lee yet? I don't think I've gotten there. I've only watched the first two episodes. Okay, Lee comes in the third episode. I don't know if you remember, but Lee is the Chinese man who's like basically their maid and their cook.
Starting point is 00:15:43 Yes, and you know what, I didn't love this casting choice. Would you even see them yet? I saw him in a preview, and it's the guy from, he was just in your friends and neighbors. He's just a little bit too recognizable for me. Oh, I did. Like the actor. Well, wait until you see him on camera when he has this amazing scene where you grew up here, but you still speak Chinese, you know, like, and then he switches over to speaking completely normal.
Starting point is 00:16:09 And he's like, because when I sound like this, like, it's such a. good scene or is like when I sound like this they don't believe me character's all about the philosophy of everything right and he's like the moral compass for these kids oh he's such a good character lovely okay lovely I used to go to this john Steinbeck museum every year for like a field trip and stuff so obviously this I might be a little too close to it so what did you think well I mean I I'm really enjoying it I think all the actors are phenomenal I love loved how the entire first episode was dedicated to the brothers and their entire arc, right? And then episode two was kind of all dedicated to Kathy.
Starting point is 00:16:54 I really like how they're doing that. And just the arc of like episode one started with her crawling up to the porch. And then you kind of circle back to it at the end of episode. I just love the way it's telling the story. I think Florence Pugh looks the best in this movie she's ever looked. I think she's like she's always been beautiful. but like she is fucking gorgeous in this like so stunning.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Yeah, I mean definitely obviously there are scenes that are so hard to watch and there's a lot of violence in it and everything. It's funny I was watching it on the airplane. It's one of those things where like I immediately regretted turning it on on an airplane. Because Florence gets a little naked. You know, it's like it opens with this like bloody woman.
Starting point is 00:17:33 She's like beat to shit. I'm like, okay, people are probably wondering what the fuck I'm watching. But yeah, and Matt, Matt's loving it too. So it's a great show that we can watch together. And, uh, yeah. Has Matt read the book? He is not.
Starting point is 00:17:47 He never even heard of it. Isn't that crazy? Wow. It's, to me, it's like one of the most famous novels of all time. Yeah. I would,
Starting point is 00:17:55 it's up there. You know, Sarah was like, I think I read that. And then I was telling her like, oh, Lee finally showed up and she's like, Lee,
Starting point is 00:18:02 you know, and she was like, I don't know if I've read this book. What? Well, it's not a book you read in like middle school. Like you read of mice and men in middle school, you know?
Starting point is 00:18:10 Yeah. And then you, you also kind of read Grapes of Wrath in high school. Yep. Yep. The themes in this book are, you're kind of in college. Older. Yeah, with these themes. Totally. But anyways, for, for those of people that don't know about it, it's an allegory for
Starting point is 00:18:24 the Canaan Abel story. So it's got biblical ties and, yeah. I'm excited about it. Like, going back to what you said, like, I do think it's like one of the most American novels up there with top 10, I would say. Yeah. Which is probably why Matt doesn't know it. He was like, well, I'm from Australia.
Starting point is 00:18:45 I'm like, that's true, I guess. But it's weird that this is only the second attempt at a recreation of this. The first one was James Dean. Yep. And now this, which is just wild because, like, how many, like, weathering heights have we had in, like, Bronte sister? They just did that Tale of Two Cities show I was talking about. I never really started that, but. Oh, what is that?
Starting point is 00:19:10 What is that on? It sounds like a weird network. I think it showed up through my Amazon, but it's like it's... MGM Plus. Fucking weird like that. But who was it? Who did I say?
Starting point is 00:19:18 Was it? Kit Harrington, I think. Oh, yeah. Which, by the way, this guy, Christopher Abbott looks so much like Kit Harrington to me. Yeah, I could see that. I'm just like the guy who looks like John Snow. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:19:29 But before we go over that, it's in the farmlands of the Salinas Valley in California. Successive generations of two families, the Trasks and the Hamiltons are dead. are destined to reenact the fateful story of Cain and Abel. East of Eden, good and evil are a choice. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so was the other one of the Tale of Two Cities. MGM Plus, I was right.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Yeah, one of those weird ones. Well, that's what From is on, so I think I am. Oh. I think I have that in there. Anything else on East of Eden or Tale of Two Cities? I think that's it. Like I said, I'm only two episodes in. But I'm loving it.
Starting point is 00:20:10 I watched another climbing movie. Remember I watched that one about the girl who like tried to do, you know. Oh, yeah. So now Netflix is like, you like climbing movies. And I'm like, I'm kind of like just like, not really. I'm just like white knuckling through these things being like, why are these people do this shit? Anyways, I watched another one called Maroo.
Starting point is 00:20:32 What's that? Believe in the Impossible. Three elite climbers struggle to find their way through obsession and loss as they attempt to climb Mount Meru, one of the most coveted prizes in the high stakes game of Himalayan big wall climbing. These motherfuckers are insane. I don't know what you're getting out of this.
Starting point is 00:20:54 So it's these three guys, Conrad Anchor, who's like famous and has been around forever, and he had this mentor. In the climbing world, you have mentors, and he had this mentor named Mugs. And Mugs was like this insane. climber and he tried to go climb
Starting point is 00:21:10 Maru and wasn't able to make it ended up dying in an avalanche so Conrad has always been like I want to do this I want to I want to complete Mugg's destiny and then you have this guy named Jimmy Chin who is like an amazing videographer and climber so he kind of
Starting point is 00:21:28 does both at the same time then they've got this other buddy named they start the movie doing it like going up there and doing it they only allotted for seven days of food. They got stuck in like a crazy storm. Of course.
Starting point is 00:21:43 They got stuck up there for 17 days. Yikes. They got a hundred feet from the summit and had to go. They were like, we have to go down. And this is all real? Yeah, and they filmed the entire thing. So then it's like, all right, we got to, we got to go down and we got to try this again later.
Starting point is 00:22:02 And there was an avalanche and it like pushed him off a cliff, cracked his skull open. somehow survived, got life-flighted out of there. Like half the blood to his brain gets like turned off. And so they're like, I don't know if you should be like you might never walk again, let alone climb. This dude like becomes a crazy workout addict because he wants to like get back. He builds up. And then Jimmy is doing some shoot in the Himalayas and he gets nailed by an avalanche.
Starting point is 00:22:35 He somehow survives it. but like shouldn't have other people die in this whole experience. And they, anyways, they still decide to go up Maroo. Damn. And get 100 feet to the fucking top and turn around. Anyways, dude, be honest with you. I did a pretty good job of selling this to you because listening to me talk about it is pretty crazy. It is.
Starting point is 00:22:59 I bet Matt would like Maroo. For sure. Yeah. I bet so. It's on Netflix right now. Okay. And Prime. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Yeah, go check it out. What Maroo is is at the, at the top of it, it looks like a shark's fin. So they're trying to, they're trying to summit the shark fin. Wild. Insane. I have no desire to do that. No. None.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Also, you know what else? I have no desire to do is the people that fucking like base jump with the squirrel suit. Oh, yeah. Like are you fucking crazy? What if you're seen them when they like, we'll go under a bridge or over, like go through a bridge. You're like, what are you thinking, dude? It's insane. And also, could you imagine the first fucking jump? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Could you imagine the first time that you just decided to jump off a cliff? No. I just... I bet a lot of people die the first time. Sure. It seems dangerous. Yeah. All right, you guys, I know it sounds insane, but the holidays are upon us. And holidays mean gift season. And if you're like me and not great at gifts and need a little extra help, you'll have to check out Zazel. I've talked about Zazel before. It truly is just my favorite place to shop for gifts. Starting point is 00:26:30 with their friends, the kind you'll be retelling for years, the laughter, the honesty, everyone dropping their guard at the same time. I just had this brandy at my pool party. We all dabbled in a little bit of Schedule 35 and have the absolute best time. And you can too, if you try some psilocybin from Schedule 35, it wasn't about tripping. It was about connecting. We were actually listening to one another, laughing until our faces hurt and remembering what it feels like to be fully present with the people you love.
Starting point is 00:26:59 I was playing some cornhole on some Schedule 35. couldn't miss. I could not miss a single shot. Starting point is 00:27:46 place these days to shop for basics is quince. I've talked about quince so much. Their favorite collection of mine is the 100% organic cotton collection. I'm literally wearing it right now. I have on the long sleeve tea. It's so loose. It's so airy and comfortable. I have it. Uh, I had literally have the long sleeve, the t-shirt and the tank top in black, white, gray, all the neutrals. I wear them all the time. And winter is coming, you guys. And Quince has the best sweaters at the best prices. If you love materials like Mongolian cashmere, you have to check them out. Their prices start at just $50. And the quality is incredible. It's the piece you will reach for over and over again as the weather gets colder. I also, since we moved into the new

Starting point is 00:29:00 And when Quince asks where you heard about them, make sure and let us know it was YFT. You got anything else? Yes, we started. It's on Apple Plus, a show called Last Scene. It just happens to be an Australian-A-S-A-S-Y show. Ozzy actors set in Australia. Police dispatcher, Ian Ridley's daughter, Maggie, disappeared years ago. He receives a call believing it's her and embarks on a relentless quest to find her and reunite his family.
Starting point is 00:29:30 disregarding the consequences last scene on Apple TV. Yep. So what? Yep. Yep. So, okay. So basically this guy is, well, in episode one, he's, he's, you think he's like at a, he's answering 911 one call.
Starting point is 00:29:49 So I don't know what they call that. What do they call? Dispatcher. Dispatcher. And then you find out shortly that he was actually some like big, like huge cop or FBI agent or like crime. specialist, I don't know. And then he decided to go do that because his daughter went missing like 10 years ago or something crazy. His like three-year-old daughter went missing was never found.
Starting point is 00:30:09 And I guess he got like kicked off of the crime unit because he probably was like going crazy over that. Anyway, I don't want to ruin it for anybody. I don't want to like give anything away. But it's a really good watch. My only complaint is we watched episode one last night and then immediately, you know how like it'll just roll like onto the next thing. Instead of just rolling into two, it rolled into this preview. I get like season preview. And in the preview, it gave away so much shit. We were like, we were like, wait a second.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Did we, did they just give away the entire season? Because there's a twist at the end of episode one. And then, and we were like, oh, fuck. And then we watched this, this like season teaser and it like basically gave it all away. Like, it was just very strange. We were like, why would, why would they do that? They just gave away the whole show.
Starting point is 00:30:59 So I wish that had to have. So if you watch it, maybe like quickly turn off episode one and manually start episode two because we weren't stoked that they just gave so much away. But I really liked episode one. Great twist at the end of it. And it for me, like even though my husband's Australian, it's kind of hard for me to understand them sometimes. So like I'm not a big subtitle person, but maybe this is one where like subtitles go on. But Matt loves it. And like in all the scenes, Matt's like, I've been there. I've been there. I've been there. And I'm like, well, yeah. But yeah, it's really good. All right. I like it. I'm still reading Theo of Golden.
Starting point is 00:31:31 How's that? It's just getting better. It's... Oh, really? This is such a brandy book, by the way. Like... Really? I think you like real meaningful novels, I feel like.
Starting point is 00:31:43 I think you also like murder mysteries and then also like trashy romance ones, but... I love it all. I'm telling you, this is such a good book. Really? It's fantastic. Please, please, please, please go read it. Okay. Did we ever find out if they're going to make it a movie?
Starting point is 00:31:59 Well, let's look. If no one's got the rights to it, should I tell Tish to swoop it? In development. I knew it. Anything good is in development. Anything good. You can't get anything. I was just in Park City for the weekend, which, have you been to Park City?
Starting point is 00:32:12 No. Oh, my God. I feel like you would love it. I got a buddy who lives there. Yeah, it's, I would live there. I fucking love Park City. I've been a million times. I love it so much.
Starting point is 00:32:22 Mostly been in the winter. Very nice fall. The leaves are beautiful. And I stayed up in Deer Valley, which typically is fucking outrageous. during ski season and I can never afford to stay there because it's off season. We actually got a pretty good price at a hotel up there. So we stayed up there. And Stein Erickson Lodge, I believe, is so fucking sick.
Starting point is 00:32:41 You feel like you're in Switzerland. The views are insane. And let me tell you guys something at their restaurant. I forget the name of the restaurant, but it's the one where you sit outside on the back patio and you look over the beautiful view and the ski runs and the lifts and all the things. They have a sticky toffee pudding on their menu. It was the most incredible dessert. Matt and I both said it was the best dessert we have ever had.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Okay. It was incredible. Like, I would go all the way back up to Deer Valley to that hotel to have that dessert anytime I'm in Park City. All right. That's a favorite thing. Yep. Well, speaking of delicious desserts, I'm watching a documentary about a serial killer. Ah, interesting.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Great segue. This is on Netflix, by the way, called Eileen, Queen the Searle. serial killers. Oh, God. Have you seen this? No. I think this is, remember when Charlize Stheron
Starting point is 00:33:35 played like a ugly hooker who killed men? Yes. Is that monster? Monster. I think this is about her. I could be wrong. But anyways,
Starting point is 00:33:45 Eileen, Queen of the serial killers, Eileen Warneros killed seven men while working as a prostitute in Florida, claiming self-defense against rape. Eileen, Queen of the serial killer. This story is crazy and this woman is insane. Obviously, she killed a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:34:06 She was a prostitute, but she also had a lady friend. It was a lesbian. I would imagine that if you were a hooker, you would become repulsed by men very quickly. Yes, I totally get that. I totally get why hookers turn into, like, decide to be lesbians. Yeah. I guess, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:26 You're right. That's not surprising to me. I would be repulsed by men if I had to encounter them that frequently, I think. Yeah. Anyways, she's a crazy person. She kills a lot of dudes. She kills a lot of Johns, whatever, guys that, you know, hire for sexual acts. She gets caught, and it's insane.
Starting point is 00:34:46 Sounds like the Hulu show with Emmy Razum that we just watched. Only, she wasn't, I don't know if you'd really call her a hooker, but you know what I mean. Yeah, I feel like she was trafficked. Mm-hmm. That's what I feel like that was more of that. She kills all of the traffickers. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Yeah, maybe I'm rooting for Eileen, you know? Okay. I mean, I was rooting for the girl and Furious for sure. Yeah, I go kill all that. I have a rant. I'd like to go on. Oh, I love it. Usually I'm the one that goes on the rants.
Starting point is 00:35:18 I know. It's a Wells-inspired rant. Okay. Give it to me. Okay. You guys know the freaking toilet seat covers that they have in public restaurants. that come out of the metal thing on the wall and you have to put it on the toilet.
Starting point is 00:35:31 You know what I'm talking about? Yeah, and you got to use your finger to like make the outline like cut it open with your finger. Yeah. Yeah. Like how the fuck is there not a better solution than that? Am I the only one
Starting point is 00:35:43 that can't get it to sit on the seat? I think I probably go through three or four before I actually get one to stay on the seat. And the most infuriating thing ever, first of all, I don't even want to have to touch it. Like I don't want to have to do with that thing with my finger. I don't want to have to break it. I just want to.
Starting point is 00:35:57 put it on there, but then you have to because then if you pee and it's not broken, then it's not broken, then it gets on you and it's a whole mess. But what happens for me is I'll break the little thing at the top so that it's open and then I'll put it on the seat. And then as I'm sitting down, it falls into the toilet bowl and then my ass hits the fucking toilet seat and it was all for no reason. How is there not a better solution to this? Am I the only one that can't figure out how to get the fucking piece of paper to stay on the toilet seat before I sit on it? Well, I recently found out that you're supposed to have, you know, when the flap goes down, right when you when you do get your finger through the thing and then the middle part falls down
Starting point is 00:36:32 that part's supposed to go in the front of the toilet oh did you know that no you've been putting on the back i know yeah is that why it's falling in the water i think that helps a little bit but i've got to be honest with you brandy and i'm not proud to announce this but you know what you don't use them i long ago is like i don't i what am i doing well i can't well here's the thing and as a man you don't sit down as much as women That's true And so it's you don't It's probably like I mean
Starting point is 00:37:00 Call me crazy I don't take shits in public often Like it's very It's like rare that I would have to like Take a shit at the airport Or somewhere where you have these things Like let's be honest I was just flying and this is where I encountered this issue
Starting point is 00:37:12 But I would have to sit down And squatting is just not an option It hurts my quads It's just not great And I don't like to pee on the seat I think that's rude So I have to pee on the seat Like if you if you hover over like like I have a friend who like refuses to sit on any public toilet
Starting point is 00:37:30 So she she she hovers Oh so and when you hover it goes on the seat because you guys don't have a seat You don't have a stream on every fucking toilet she hovers over and I think it's so rude I know but hold on okay see you ever seen a man pee before Yes so it's like it's like a water gun says it's a straight line it's like a laser beam right We can aim with it and stuff can yeah well you don't aim very well because all men pee on seats That's true. But so does your guys does your guys not have laser beam technology?
Starting point is 00:37:59 Not really. No, it's more of a spray gun. You know, you must know this. There's no laser beam technology and you can't really aim it. Like it kind of, it can go a little like Wiley Coyote. You know? Yeah, okay. So, and I just think it's so rude to pee on the seat.
Starting point is 00:38:16 And so I don't want to have to clean it out. I don't have to touch the seat. So like, I'm just going to sit on it. But I want the fucking cover. but I want it I don't want to be wasteful I want to pull one cover I want it to stay on the seat
Starting point is 00:38:27 and I want it to stay there whilst I sit on it and not just fall in the last minute before my toche hits the seat and that's disgusting and then that's like all for no reason
Starting point is 00:38:35 and now we've wasted paper for nothing. Yeah. I find that it's easier just to make a little thrown of toilet paper. No, that's wasteful to you. Is it though?
Starting point is 00:38:46 Yeah. I don't know. Have you ever pooped on? I don't want I don't really want to touch can't we come up like I feel like in Europe they have the ones that do the auto.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Yeah, I don't know if I trust that though. You hit a button and it switches the cover for you. That's what I'm looking for. That's what I'm looking for at my gazillion dollar airport that my taxes have paid for in Nashville, Tennessee. I want the fucking automatic toilet seat covers. Sing it, sister. At the Dolly Airport.
Starting point is 00:39:13 You know they're going to rename our airport after Dolly? Yeah, which is amazing. Dolly would expect the best. Yeah. And you know what? And that means auto toilet seat covers. Okay. Airports.
Starting point is 00:39:22 I'm with you on this. I tell you what, you guys are spending millions of dollars on faucet bullshittery. I don't need my faucet to fucking sense when I'm there and dry my hands and wet my hands and then put the soap on. And even when you have that, it never fucking works and you got to go over the other thing. None of them ever work.
Starting point is 00:39:43 I don't, we figured out faucets long ago. I don't need all this accoutrement. What we do need, what we do need is automated, swivel ass... We do. We do.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Did I tell you that Matt thought I made up the word acutermont? What? I said it one time and Matt thought I made up the word. He had never heard it before? I said something about accoutrement like with room service and he was like, what the fuck did you say? And I was like a quichamond and he was like, he was like, did you just make that up? And I was like, no.
Starting point is 00:40:14 But the way he said it, I was like, did I just make that word? He had me questioning. I was like, it does kind of sound made up. But then I googled it. And I was like, no, no, see, I'm not crazy. I think it's a French word. It is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:26 Yeah, my pronunciation might not be right, but I did not make it up. What do Australians take as a second language in Australia? I don't think they do. Surely they do. I don't think. I bet you they take like some sort of Asian because they're close to Japan and China and Thailand and... Apparently they all go to Bali. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:49 I was right. What is the most common second language taken in Australia? Mandarin Chinese is the most common second language spoken at home in Australia, while Japanese is historically one of the most widely taught foreign languages in Australian schools. Other commonly spoken languages, Arabic, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Punjabi, and closely followed by Mandarin. I don't think I know any Australians that know another. language though. They might know Mandarin. I don't think it's as common for them to learn
Starting point is 00:41:24 a second language as it is for us. Surely they have to take some class. It's the same way as like, I took Spanish. Can I speak it? No. Let's ask Matt. Let's ask him. I'm just like trying to think about all the Aussies that I've known throughout my lifetime. And I've never heard any of them speak a different language. He said yes.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Indonesian. Ah, see? But also. But I got to say, I know that you're way down there, but I feel like Spanish or like French should be higher on that list, you know? I don't know. I took French and I have never used it.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Yeah. Except to say accoutrement wrong, you know? That's right. Mm. All right. You got anything else? You got any more rants? No, that was it.
Starting point is 00:42:11 I just got so frustrated. I think I went through three or four at one frigging pee stop at this last trip, and I just was so frustrated. Yeah. Do you travel with wet, wipes? Yes. Yeah, me too. It's just like in my like travel bad, my like carry on all the time. All the time. You've ever taken a poop in an airplane? I have, but it's very rare that I have to do that.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Yeah. I feel like I usually just like can't poop on the airplane. Well, generally when you travel, you can't really, like, consulate you for a while, right? I take magnesium every night when I travel. Does magnesium make you poop? Yes. Oh, I take magnesium. ever next. I thought it makes me sleep. Well, there's like seven types of magnesium. You have to take the right one. Oh. Am I taking the poop one or the sleep one? I'm sure you're taking the sleep one if you're taking it to sleep. What I would know? I think it's is it citrate that's the poop one? Oh, I don't know. Magnesium citrate. Which type of magnesium makes you poop? Yeah. Magnesium citrate and magnesium oxide are the ones that make you poop because your body absorbs them poorly, which pulls water into your into your intestines and softens your stool.
Starting point is 00:43:22 Hold on. Are you looking at you the one you take? All right, good news. You're not taking the poop magnesium? No, I'm taking the one that helps with sleep and muscle relaxation. Yep. That could have, but also could have answered some questions that we've got, you know? All right, what do you got coming up?
Starting point is 00:43:50 I am flying to Salt Lake, back to Salt Lake City on Thursday. but this gig is a private corporate event so unfortunately the public cannot attend. Should be a fun one. I'm opening for the Yin Yang twins. Hell yeah. I don't know who decided to put us on the same bill, but thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:08 I'm here for it. Iconic. And then I'm flying to L.A. the next day to go with Miley and my mother to a gala where they are receiving recognition for the work that the Miley Cyrus Foundation does with the L.A. Women shelter. That's amazing. I'm excited to go out. Yeah, and support them for that. And then, uh, the following
Starting point is 00:44:31 weekend are the Miley Hollywood Bowl shows that we have been looking forward to for so long. I'm so excited. It'll be probably, I think the first like full concert she's done since the South America tour and Mexico show. Wow. Um, so yeah, it's, I'm excited. And I'm excited to hear the new album live and all the things. So exciting. I think I'll probably see you in L.A. if you're there. Yeah, can I go to the Hollywood Bowl? No, no comps. You know, your sister.
Starting point is 00:45:06 There's no comps. I don't know what to tell you. No comps at all? No, her management said no comps because that's how fucking insane. Did you not see how many millions of people were online trying to get tickets? Like, it's been crazy. Did you get comps? Well, for I get a call. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:22 I'm a Cyrus. Tell Cyrus, Miley, that I'm hurt. I'm not even taking, I'm not even taking any friends, no cops. All right, fine, I won't go. I'll come hang out with you guys. You're welcome to text her and ask, but. No. That's okay.
Starting point is 00:45:38 I mean, I've even had to turn down some celebs, which is just embarrassing. Well, I'm a celeb, you know. It's not my show, you know. Miley, I mean, my dad just passed away, but, you know, it's fine. You could pull that card. You could try. You know, on his, on his death bed. What he said was, I really hope you go to that Miley show at the Hollywood Bowl.
Starting point is 00:45:59 And I said, you know what, Dad? I'm going to see if I can make that happen. Well, that's fun. Give it a go. I know. Yeah. Give it a world. That might work.
Starting point is 00:46:07 But yeah, that's what I got. All right. I got nothing. What do you got? I got nothing. I just hope no one passes around me for a little bit. I got no more tears left in my body. So I need everyone to chill the fuck out for a little bit and just be safe.
Starting point is 00:46:21 I got nothing really going on. I'm going to London soon. And that's what I'm looking forward to is to go see my beautiful wife who I feel so bad for her. She was close with my dad and her parents were really close with my dad, which is very interesting because my dad was very conservative and they're very progressive. And they got along swimmingly, famously. That's awesome. I know. And so she really wanted to come home and I was like, no one's significant others coming.
Starting point is 00:46:49 We're like we're just doing this as siblings, you know. So it'll be good to go see her and we can kind of greet. together. Yeah, that will be good. Yeah. Okay. All right. Well, sorry YFT years
Starting point is 00:47:00 for the short episode, but I've been busy. So it is what it is. But we will see you next week. Yeah, we will. Okay. Love you guys. Love you, Wills.
