Starting point is 00:00:00 This podcast is brought to you by Podcast Nation. Hi. Was it? I don't know why. I'm quiet on my end, but you can hear me fine. Yeah. Okay, great. Why do you look like you're going to opening day of deer season right now?
Starting point is 00:00:18 Oh, maybe I am. Yeah? You're going to go hunt some deer? No, I would never do that. You got some camo on. Where are you going? You going into the bush? I'm going nowhere.
Starting point is 00:00:29 I feel like I wore this like last week or something. thing. Yeah. All my shit's packed in boxes. So I just keep wearing the same shit every week. Yeah, you're in a new place. I got two new windows behind you. What's going on? Well, let me tell you something. First of all, I got Botox and it's just like a little nuts. Like, you know how when you first get Botox, you don't know. But when you first get Botox, I don't know that, but it's a little like insane for a minute. Okay. Okay. And then after like two to three weeks, it'll start to settle. And it's a little crazy right. How long do you have? What's the window of like when it settles to like when you need to do it again?
Starting point is 00:01:07 Like is that another like two weeks or what? Oh, not that often. I do it every four months. Okay. So I did it last week. So right now it's like really it's like pop in like a little a little much. But you kind of want that. Otherwise it would wear off too quick.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Yeah. So like mine settles in like two weeks. It'll start to look really good. And then like three months later, three and a half months later, I have to go get it redone. So like once. a quarter you got to do this thing. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Dang, dude. I don't know. I just tell you what, I think I'm just going to get old. It's like fake hair. Do you realize, I'm sure you do living in Los Angeles, but I live in Nashville and it's the same. It has become the norm for women to have fake hair. Like more women than not, I feel like have fucking extensions.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Like it's crazy. Everyone has fake hair. Yeah. It's wild to me. But I get that it's probably like, it's like, Botox. It's like once you get it, then you're like, oh, this is amazing and I can't go without it. And then you just never can have your normal hair ever again. This is why I can't do extensions because I know I would get addicted like that.
Starting point is 00:02:13 And I just, I can't, I don't need one more thing, you know. I used to did a girl who the only thing she did was get the eyelashes, like glued on to her eyelashes, you know? So she had like really long. I'm allergic. It's also like in the South. Big hair is a big thing. I feel like. It is.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Whereas I don't know if I think that's such a big thing out here, but I do think that everyone does have fake hair. You know, doing Paradise, everyone's got, is it called tracks? They've got like, yes. They're like, it's like a comb that like sticks in their head.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Yeah. Yeah, that's pretty funny. I mean, everywhere I go, I went to the ACM honors awards last week and like every, every girl in the audience had fake hair. Yeah. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Nothing's real anymore. Nope. At least with you ladies. For the boys, I feel like we are keeping it real. Let me tell you something. I was literally thinking about this today. Okay. Love it.
Starting point is 00:03:07 First, it's women on the, like everyone's on O-ZMPIC. Literally fucking everyone, it seems like. Now all of a sudden, it's men are on there too. Men are taking Reda. It's like every man is on Reda. What is Reda? It's another one of the fucking peptides, weight lost peptides, but the men take it because it helps you build muscle, apparently.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Dude, those are the worst guys. I'm telling you everyone's on it. It's insane. We're going to hit a point where like 98% of people are on either a GLP 1 or whatever the fuck red it is. I think it's like a GLP 3. It's just crazy. Yeah, it's like that guy jelly roll. What's he on?
Starting point is 00:03:42 He's on a GLP 1, I'm sure. And you know what? Everybody is. I feel like I went on like a tangent the other day about Jason Momoa being like shoved down my throat. That's another guy that's getting shoved down my throat. Jelly roll. First of all, I've never listened to a goddamn song jelly roll has ever put out, all I'm... Who's shoving him down your throat exactly?
Starting point is 00:04:06 I don't... Fucking social media. It's just like, look at this fat guy that's now skinny. And then he's like preaching to me about think, I... You know what? No thank you, sir. I never signed up for this. He does look.
Starting point is 00:04:19 He looks good. But like... Does he though? He looks fucking... Let me say this. Let me say this about GLP once. You look weird. just so you guys know
Starting point is 00:04:31 you kind of look weird and we all know everyone knows that's what's going on all right you look a little hollow you know the ozimic is like in the face
Starting point is 00:04:44 you can tell but like I'm telling you men that are on this reddath stuff like I can tell by the way their muscles look that they're on that it's not real what do they look like
Starting point is 00:04:55 they just look different it's like it's like you look it's someone that's like all of a sudden gotten into shape and has muscles and you're like, but they, something's off. I know. I tell you what, I don't like it. I do not like a, I don't like a man losing a bunch of weight and then getting in good shape because you know what's going to happen with that man.
Starting point is 00:05:12 That man's about to cheat or has been cheating on his wife and I don't like it. All right? I want to be not doing it. Let me tell you, this is how you're going to know. I'm scared. This is how you know that I'm faithful to my wife. Your boy's not doing a goddamn thing. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:33 I'm not doing any. Also, look at your wife. Are you kidding? I know. Yeah, I can't do better than that. But like, nothing. If there was ever a day where I changed anything about myself, that would be your opportunity to be like,
Starting point is 00:05:47 Wells, what's going on? All right? But you know what? It's never going to happen. I'm just going to be me forever. And I'm not going to get ripped. All right. I'm going to try to keep it as tight as.
Starting point is 00:05:58 as I possibly can and look good. Yeah. But at the end of the day, if you're getting in shape, if you're doing squats, you're cheating on your wife. Those are the rules. I'm not, I didn't come up with it. Actually, I just did. If you're doing squats, you're cheating on your wife,
Starting point is 00:06:16 and you know what? I'm sorry about that. Or you're thinking about it. Do you know who Tom Segura is? No. Tom Segura is this comedian who does a show with Burke Christi. who's a lovely person and fun to be around.
Starting point is 00:06:31 And he and Tom was married to a woman who's also comedian. They had a podcast together. And guess what happened with Tom? Tom got on some motherfucking GLP once. All right? And now all of a sudden he's like thin and he's like working out. And guess what happened? They broke up.
Starting point is 00:06:51 They broke up. And let me tell you something. Tom, that's as good as you're going to get, by the way. that girl was so fucking funny. You think you're going to go find a 22-year-old with a tight body, nice ass, and big tits, and is going to be anywhere near as cool or as fun or as fucking funny as that girl? It's not going to happen. And guess what's going to happen, Tom?
Starting point is 00:07:14 In 10 years, she's just going to start looking like your ex-wife. And then what do you do? Is it like the laundry? Do you just put in another load? No, dude. Yeah. I know. And I think that's wrong.
Starting point is 00:07:29 I'm an ally. I'm glad. I'm also way too lazy. People who give me a break. First of all, the GLP one thing is so funny because we actually might be like sponsoring a GLP one soon. I know. I saw that. I know.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Listen, here's the thing. If you need, like if you need it, like some people have diabetes or blood sugar stuff. like sure by all means like I actually have one friend that she does she's had diabetes since I've known or forever um and has like a blood sugar thing and she needed it and she's on it and she looks fucking amazing she has lost weight but she doesn't look weird and I think it's because she needed it yeah you know no I think it's good for people that need it I think that the problem is is that it's like people like me and you who like get on that don't need it that get on it and then you're like what what happened to them
Starting point is 00:08:25 What's going on? People that want a shortcut to lose weight. Yeah. Just, I don't know. Get yourself into a calorie deficit. All you got to do is walk on a treadmill uphill. If you do like three miles a day, I'm telling you what, it's going to fall off your body. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:08:43 Walking uphill. And then if you got a weighted vest, geez Louise, you will immediately. I got one of those, but I don't walk. Do you have a treadmill, though? I do. If you got a treadmill, put on the TV. Yeah, I do enough. I go to Pilates.
Starting point is 00:08:58 I write the horses. Yeah, you've got farm bod, dude. We don't, we're not worried about you. My Pilates arms are really, really setting in nicely. But I will say people that, I just don't have the energy to get on a GLP one, you know? Because that means I've got to talk to a doctor probably about something. Probably. And that doctor is going to be like, what are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:09:20 Like, this doesn't make any sense. And so I've got to convince someone someone of something that I don't. really need, right? Yep. And then I have to start taking that thing, and then that thing also, like, makes you not want to eat. Could be by way of, like, making you nauseous, I don't need that either. Sounds terrible.
Starting point is 00:09:38 By the way, I do firmly believe this in, like, 12 years. We're all going to look back and be like, I can't believe we were doing that. That was crazy. You know? Yeah, for sure. Same with vapes. I think vapes is the same way. Well, we already know vapes are horrible.
Starting point is 00:09:54 I know. but I think at some point, like, there's going to be a doctor that says, you should just smoke cigarettes. Like, that's better for you. I feel like they have. I feel like they have tell. Yeah. Also, I'm convinced those are horrible.
Starting point is 00:10:08 I don't know. I do the zins. You do the zins? I do the zins. And it has, you know, I used to smoke a cigarette every once in a while. Oh, I know. You remember? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I haven't had a cigarette like a year. Really? So I feel like that's a win. I've never seen Matt smoke a cigarette, thankfully, because cringe. But I know he does it. Yeah. With the boys, like when they're on a motorcycle trips and stuff. Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Uh-huh. Listen, I don't need to see that. Let me just tell you something. I feel like smoking's gotten a bad rap. There's nothing better than a drunk cigarette. I'm telling you, like there are a few things that are better than a drunk cigarette. Smoking got a bad rap because whatever's in the cigarettes was killing people. Yeah, I was giving people cancer. That makes sense. You're right. You're right about that. But you know what? Water also gives people cancer and also the sun and we got out in front of that. Anyways, I will say that I do miss a real drunky cigarette outside of a bar with like a pretty girl. That's as good. That's as good as it gets. Should we shut the show?
Starting point is 00:11:20 We should. Me? Thank you. Bros and Hose, you're listening to Your Favorite Thing Podcast with Wells and Brandy. All right, guys, I've been trying to be healthier these days. I've been working out a lot and I've also been trying to eat better. And so I've gone to Hungry Route. Have you heard about Hungry Route brandy?
Starting point is 00:11:41 Totally have. Love it. All right. So, like, at this point, I generally don't think about grocery shopping or meal planning anymore. It just happens. They've got over 50,000 chef crafted recipes and over 1,000 grocery items. the variety never gets old. Many recipes are ready in just 15 minutes and there's always something new to try.

Hungry Roots quality standard doesn't slip and you know exactly what to expect. It's like meal kits and grocery all in one
Starting point is 00:12:20 because I can't just do one. Like meal kits are hard because I'm like, well, sometimes I just want a banana. So then I have to go to the grocery store and just get a bit of a this way you get both. Like you can get recipes for actual meals. But then if you're the kind of person like me that just likes a banana and some peanut butter, you can get those things too. It really is just the best of both. You guys are going to love Hungry Route as much as we do. For a limited time, you can get 40% off your first order.

It's where I get all my basic t-shirts, tank tops, long sleeves, even like a sports bra's underwear. I've tried it all. I love it all. And I actually recently got Matt into quince. Let's be honest, Matt doesn't do any of his own shopping. I do it for him. And I recently ordered him the 100% cotton like, man tanks. I ordered them in white, black, and gray.
Starting point is 00:13:25 He likes to wear those under like a button up, but I love when he just like wears the white tank on its own in the summer heat like super hot. And I love Quince because it's such great quality, but at a great price point, Lord knows Matt can't keep a white tank clean for very long. So if I have to buy new ones, it doesn't break the bank. And they also have other materials like premium Mongolian cashmere when we start getting into winter. That's also great. Quince truly has something for everyone. Upgrade your every day. That's Quince, Q-U-I-N-C-E dot com slash YFT. Do it. I hate to admit, Wells knows this
Starting point is 00:14:18 very well. I'm not the best of gifts. Okay. I just, I'll admit it. I'm not great with it. But I've recently discovered Zazzle. And if you guys are not on the Zazzle train, you've got to get on. It's a custom marketplace where you can take basically any product, anything, a mug, a tote bag, a card, a phone case. And you can make something personalized, make it mean something for anyone that you're buying a gift for. It really is incredible. I got my best friend, some customized dog bowls. It was so easy to do. I just went and like picked, you know, the porcelain dog bowl and then typed in each dog's name, picked the font, picked the color,
Starting point is 00:14:53 Bada bada bada bba, bang, bada beng, badau, and whatever the saying is. And it was so easy. It took me five minutes and she loved them. So, you know what? I'm not going to say I'm bad at gifts anymore. I'm great at gifts now, thanks to Zazel. Yeah, over 30 million customers have trusted Zazel with their most important gifts.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Yours is next. And right now, save 25% off your first order at zazel.com. It's that easy. Just go to zazel.com and Bada, bing. about a boom, that's 25% savings on your first order at zazzle.com. I was close. Go make something. Amazingzazzle.com.
Starting point is 00:15:32 I'm going to get you a Christmas gift on Zazzle this year. Okay. Great. We totally got on a tangent when you asked me about my new location. Yeah, where are you? So I'm upstairs now instead of downstairs in the basement because the day after young Nikki left, I went downstairs and there's this horrible. smell. And at first I was like,
Starting point is 00:15:53 that's weird, but it was like kind of faint. And so I was like, whatever, I'll just like sit down here and work. And then Matt came downstairs and was like, what the fuck is that horrible smell? I was like, I have no idea. Turns out it's the sink. Like the garbage disposal doesn't work. And I guess like for the food from Noah being here two weeks was just like sitting in the garbage disposal. So it smells fucking terrible down there. So she was just shoving food down the thing. Probably. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. And of course,
Starting point is 00:16:17 like the day she leaves, it starts to smell. Yeah. So I can't take it. And, um, Like I've asked Matt to fix it, but honestly, we have a long list of issues and things to be taken care of. And that's low on the totem pole because, you know what? In two weeks, that's not going to be our problem anymore. Just let it ride, babe. Yeah, let it rip. I just moved my shit upstairs.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Just put a candle over by the sink. I don't know if that would do it. Like, it's pretty bad. Is it? Yeah. That's pretty funny, though. It's pretty gross. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:16:45 What was Noah eat? Cracker barrel, I'm sure. That's her favorite. Yeah. Yeah. Chicken and dumplings. Definitely, yeah. How far is the cracker barrel from your place? Oh, 12 minutes.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Oh, my God. How many times do you think? Yeah, how many, she was here for what, two weeks? Two weeks, yeah. I bet she went at least four times, maybe five. Yeah. How many times did you go with her? I actually didn't go, but we did go to Country Boy a few times.
Starting point is 00:17:11 What is Country Boy? You don't know about Country Boy? I don't know about Country Boy. Wow, that's crazy. It's a staple in Leepers Fork. Is it? It's a cute little diner. I like to go first.
Starting point is 00:17:20 for breakfast, but they're open, I think, for dinner. Also, Matt goes to Country Boy every single morning. So if you guys want to meet Matt, try Country Boy in the mornings and I guarantee you he's going to be there. It's like his routine. He loves it. All the old women that work at the bar know him. They know his order.
Starting point is 00:17:38 He absolutely eats it up. Country Boy, yeah, and Noah loves it. So she drug me there a few times. What's the place out there where the biscuits are really good? Loveless. Love this cafe. Love this cafe. Loveless Cafe has gotten a tad bit touristy.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But when I was a kid, we used to go like every Sunday after church. Yeah, Loveless is pretty bomb. The two places that got touristy, it's too bad it happened, is Loveless and Bluebird. The Bluebird is only tourist now. I know. But that's where if you, like, want to see like Reba McIntyre sing, like that's where you would go. I know.
Starting point is 00:18:15 You want to see Allison Krause saying? She's going to be at the Bluebird tonight. Yeah. It's a cool spot. That is a good spot. Yeah. Real quick, want to vent about the racket that is the veterinary. The dog doctor?
Starting point is 00:18:30 Yeah, the vet. Okay. Don't worry. I'm going to start this with booze fine. Oh, thank God. Okay. Okay. Okay. So the other day, I left the house for two hours.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Come home and I, you know, you know when you come home and your dog, is acting weird and you're like, what did you do? What happened here? All right? Totally. So she got into the pantry and there was powder everywhere.
Starting point is 00:19:01 It was like, it was like El Chapo's bedroom. You know, it was so much powder everywhere. And I was like, what is this? I ended up finding like the bag and it was cornstarch. She had gotten into the pantry and gotten the cornstarch out.
Starting point is 00:19:18 And I was like, Well, I don't think corn starch is like danger. She might not be able to shit for a week, but, you know, that's on her. That's not my problem. But whatever. And then I was like, what is this on the carpet? And it was like this like big brown thing. And I was like, maybe she threw up or something, you know, threw up some corn.
Starting point is 00:19:36 I don't know. She ate an eight ounce can of baking cocoa. Oh, no. Why do you guys have baking cocoa anyway? I, that's a great question, Brandy, because you know. Like, who the fuck has that? Sarah, for like the quarter time she does that every year. You know, she's, she bakes once a year and it's Christmas time.
Starting point is 00:20:02 And apparently she needed baking cocoa. I didn't even know we had it. Anyways, she ate, it was an eight ounce can. I would say she ate at least six ounces of it, right? So I'm like, oh, that's not good. that's like, I feel like that's, that's like free basing cocaine. You know, like dogs are allergic to cocoa powder or like chocolate or whatever. And I was like, I feel like this is much worse because it's like really going to get absorbed really well.
Starting point is 00:20:31 So immediately I get into fighter flight mode and I get some bread and I dip it into some hydrogen peroxide and I give it to her because you know that makes him throw up, right? Yes. So by the way. It makes me want to throw up to even think about ingesting that, but yes. If you ever come across a situation where you need your dog to throw up, dip some bread into some hydrogen shroproxid, make them eat it, they will throw up. So anyways, I give her that. She's like, I want to go outside.
Starting point is 00:21:01 So I'm like, all right. So she goes outside. She takes a crap. And she's just like hanging out outside. And I was like, I don't think the hydrogen peroxide thing's working. I think I probably need to take her to the vet. So I get her in the car. I take her to the vet.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Right? walk in hey i think she she ate like i don't know six ounces of like cocoa powder and the vet's like we can't take her we can't you have to go to the emergency room oh i fucking hate when they say that all right let me just tell you one fucking thing all right you can take they're like we she can't stay overnight or whatever i don't need you to have her stay overnight i need you to make her throw up all over the place right now and get this out of her body and then we'll be fine you have to take her to the emergency room. Okay, but you could do it though.
Starting point is 00:21:44 If you could, no, you have to take her right now. Get, leave. And I was like, all right. That annoyed me first. I think it's a big racket. I think that big emergency room is paying off small, or small veterinary. I mean, they're charging enough to be doing it.
Starting point is 00:22:00 So anyways, I go to, I go to the emergency room place. I tell them what's going on. Listen, she ate a bunch of cocoa. I don't know what to do. And they go, well, you know what? You need to call, like, the Center for Disease Control, like the poison person. I'm like, what? Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:16 And they're like, you're going to have to pay $85. And then we got a case number and then we can start it. And I'm like, I just need you to make this dog throw the fuck up. Oh, by the way, I missed this part. On the way from the first vet to the emergency room vet, boo started throwing up in the car. The most amount of all. Let me show you the, let me show you. Which car were you in?
Starting point is 00:22:39 I was in Sarah's car. I was. Sarah's dog, Sarah's car. Yeah. Let me show you. It looks like... Ooh, that's not good.
Starting point is 00:22:50 It looks like... It looks like... Good, do you claim that up? It looks like batter. Brownie batter. But not in a good way. Yeah, I cleaned up a lot of it. And then I went to the car wash and I was like,
Starting point is 00:23:03 hey, I spilled some cocoa. Can you do some magic? and I'm sure they were like, this cocoa smells like, throw up. Anyway, so we get there and they're like, you got to call so and so. And I was like, okay, I'll call. And they're like, but also what was on the box? And I was like, it was baking cocoa powder? And they're like, well, was it dark chocolate?
Starting point is 00:23:24 Was it milk chocolate? We need to know. And I was like, oh, well, then I have to go home. So like, all right, go home, call the people. So I'm driving home. I'm calling the people. I tell them what's going on. They charge me $80 to be like, well, what we,
Starting point is 00:23:38 suggest is that she stays at the emergency room for 72 hours. And I was like, okay. That would cost so much money. I was like, okay. So I go back to the emergency room. That for three days, that would cost you, I bet like five grand a day. You are right. You want to know how I know this? Because I've dealt with this with Happy. So I get there and they're like, so what the Center for Disease Control or whatever it is, was they suggested 72 hours and here's the invoice. And they showed me a $12,000. bill and I was like $12,000. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:24:12 And they're like, this is all the things we got to do. And I was like, let me just tell you what we're going to do. We're going to have her stay tonight. And then when she's fine, we're going to leave her. We're going to take her tomorrow. And that'll be it. Let's see what the invoice is for that. Well, that was still $3,500.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Yep. Is that what you did? Yeah, that's what I did. Because it's not, if it was my dog, if it was Carl, Carl's got to grit and bear through this. You got to deal with this shit. But it's not, it's Sarah's dog and Sarah's in London, you know? Right, right.
Starting point is 00:24:49 I gotta fucking deal with this. Yeah, I get it. And I have to pay for it because it was, I left the pantry door open. Oh, Wells. Yeah, anyways. But I think that vets are a racket. Here's the problem.
Starting point is 00:25:04 I'll tell you what the problem is. Yeah. especially the emergency hospitals, but even now a lot of the vet clinics are owned by private equity companies. They're like privately owned. Yeah. So these huge companies that don't know shit about animal, medical, anything, are buying veterinary clinics and hospitals because they make so much. And they're jacking up the fucking prices.
Starting point is 00:25:24 It's like a whole topic of conversation among the pet community. Oh, really? Yes. But it makes me really sad. I feel like I said this when I had to take happy in that like for people that can't fucking afford. that like it's so horribly sad that they just have to like let their pets die because who the fuck can pay $3,500 for a night in the like that's crazy. I mean, I could have I could have bought three cars for the three days they wanted her to stay there. It's insane. And I mean, I don't
Starting point is 00:25:55 think she needed to stay the three days. I think they over. Oh yeah. I know like say what needs to like it. Same thing with happy. I only had him stay one night and they wanted to keep him longer. And I said no one brought him home. He was told him, and he actually got better faster at home. Yeah. That being said, there are cases where I'm sure pets do need to stay. And in that case, it's so sad because people can't afford it. Yeah. It's just astronomical. It's awful. Yeah. It's a huge racket. And is that happy right there? Little dog. We're talking about you. The little fucking dog has just been on one lately. Why? She's just so hyper. I am. Well, anyways, close your pantry, guys.
Starting point is 00:26:34 okay. I knew she was going to be fine. Once she threw up in the car, I was like, that's a lot of chocolate. I don't know if there's a whole lot left in there, you know. Did they say if she threw up overnight? Yeah, they made her throw up again. I was like, when can I come get the dog? And they were like, well, tomorrow. And I was like, yeah, but if the dog is fine in the morning, I'd like to come get her and like, we can stop this treatment, you know? And they're like, well, there's no doctor coming in until noon. So we'll let you know at noon. And I'll let you know at noon. I was like, all right, fine. So then we get to noon.
Starting point is 00:27:06 No one calls me. So then I call him being like, can I get the dog now? Like, how's the dog doing? No one's giving me an update, yada, yada, yada. And they're like, well, the doctor hasn't seen her, but she's doing great. And I'm like, let me come get her. And they're like, well, you paid for 24 hours. So you might as well stay, let her stay until like 5 p.m.
Starting point is 00:27:25 And I'm like, all right, that's fine. They called back and they're like, you need to come get her a little bit. You know, you dropped her off at like four. So you need to get her before four. And I was like, well, I'm working. until five, so I can't get her until then. That's why I was trying to get her, like, earlier. You guys are going to try to charge me for, like, two hours of her staying there.
Starting point is 00:27:43 And I was like, I want you to give her nothing, no more extra stuff. And they're like, what do you mean? And I was like, I know you're going to try to charge me more money, like, for an extra hour there. But that's not fair because I wanted to get her like four hours ago, but you wouldn't let me because you guys didn't call me. This whole thing's a goddamn racket. You're trying to screw me over. And they're like, don't worry about it. And I was like, by the way, $3,500 for less than 24 hours is a crazy amount of money to pay.
Starting point is 00:28:11 Aye, aye, aye. They got me, though. They got me good. You got to give them some credit, you know? Anyways, you got any favorite things? Wow. You know what? I tried to watch, is it called lanterns or lantern?
Starting point is 00:28:25 Oh, that was my one thing I had. I was having trouble paying attention. Oh, I liked it. It's people are saying And like the ratings are through the roof Like more it's more watched than like Game of Thrones and shit The premiere episode of this show And I love Kyle Chandler
Starting point is 00:28:41 So I had to give a go But I just couldn't pay attention Oh I liked it actually Okay all right I actually really enjoyed it I mean I like some superhero stuff But you really love the superhero stuff I do but here's the thing
Starting point is 00:28:55 Green Lantern is like not one that like I grew up on Or cared about The only relationship I had with Greenland enters with Ryan Reynolds. So it's like not a great relationship, I guess, because like that movie was terrible. And then I also think that maybe he's not that awesome. But I did like this one because I don't think you need to be a like Green Lantern Stan Stan or like nerd to like enjoy this.
Starting point is 00:29:21 And I do like Kyle Chandler. I'm going to, I'll probably watch it again with Matt. Yeah. Because if he likes it, then that's great because we need a new show to watch. but I just, yeah, I was like, I don't know about this one. Didn't do it for you. It wasn't doing it for me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:39 All right, guys, we've all had those nights. The ones where you laugh until the sun comes up where conversations go places that they've never gone before and you walk away feeling closer to the people around you than you have in years. That's psilocybin, baby. It doesn't just open doors in your mind. It opens them between people.
Starting point is 00:29:55 This episode is brought to by Schedule 35, the most trusted name in psilocybin products. Starting point is 00:30:17 and honestly, maybe probably your soul. I use them mainly in microdosing. It does make me so much more creative, especially when I have to do like some sort of creative, job, but you can take a little bit more and have a little more fun. If you want, go to Schedule35.com and use Code YFT for 15% off your first order. That's Schedule 35.com code YFT for 15% off. I absolutely love Schedule 35 and you will too. I got a bone to pick. Oh, okay. With Apple. You always have a bone to pick with Apple. Always. I just need not to have
Starting point is 00:30:55 the green text message and I'll go to or whatever it is. Here's my issue with Apple. Hey, Apple, why are we uninstalling apps that I've got on my phone without willy-nilly, without me even knowing what we're doing? I'm not initiating this. The other day I went to go to Venmo because I hadn't used it in like two weeks. It was uninstalled.
Starting point is 00:31:17 And I was in a place where I didn't have a lot of service and it took a long time for it to download. And I remember thinking, I never uninstalled this. why is this no longer available on my phone? Who's making these decisions, Apple? If I have downloaded this thing, I want it to be on my phone. Sure.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Let me just go through it right now. Let's just find out what... I'm sure there's a setting. There's got to be a setting. Southwest. Southwest. I haven't used it in a month. I don't want that to be gone.
Starting point is 00:31:50 I got to download that one. That's ridiculous. Can you go to your settings and like changing? it. I bet you can. Ticketmaster. I use Ticketmaster all the time. Going to have to download it. All the time. This is bullshit. All right? I didn't ask for this. If I've downloaded it, it means it needs to be there. Okay. Okay. And that's the rule, Apple. Does that not happen to you or is this only happening to me? Every now and then it does. It's not annoying. You're like, when did I uninstall this?
Starting point is 00:32:22 Yeah, it is annoying. Also, I think the most annoying. I'm sure it does it because it's like a, a story. I got plenty of storage. I was going to say I have like a one terabyte phone, you know? It's like I don't need you to uninstall the app for my storage space. I also pay like $9 a month for like a terabyte of cloud. And apparently that's a scam.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Do you know about that? I believe that's a scam. There's apparently you can get what's it called a lawsuit. There's like a class action lawsuit against Apple for that and you can get money if you've paid for that. Every time that they've had those class action lawsuits and I've gone into it, I only get like
Starting point is 00:32:56 $7. And I'm like, what are we even doing here? And they're like, well, we're paying up $3 billion to, yeah, well,
Starting point is 00:33:02 like, it's sticking it to a billion people. Yeah. Because they got to pay. Whatever. $7. That's not going to change anything for me. Anyways,
Starting point is 00:33:11 I feel like they're fucking with me. I don't even think it's like, I think they're just like, this would be funny. Let's take, let's take away his memo and see what it happens. You're like, why did you do that?
Starting point is 00:33:22 I'm always using that. Okay. So there is a documentary on Amazon Prime. It's called Blue Zeus. And it's a documentary about the wild horses. I know I've like talked about it here and there on the podcast and I post more about it on my social media. But this country has a massive, massive problem with the way we treat America's wild horses that live out west. And my friends at Sky Dog Sanctuary have been putting together this documentary now for a few years.
Starting point is 00:33:55 finally out. If you're curious at all, I feel like whenever I tell people about the wild horses and what's happening to them, people have no idea. They're very clueless. Like a lot of people don't even know there are wild horses in America. There are. And if you're interested at all to hear more about that and the roundups and just all of the issues with it and what needs to happen to protect the horses, I would highly suggest
Starting point is 00:34:17 watching this documentary. Claire does an amazing job of explaining it and also, you know, how, you know, how. having you get to know these wild horses, like she and her group have studied every single herd. They know every single thing about every horse and every family group. It's very cool and very beautiful. So if you are interested in all on that, I would say go watch that on Amazon Prime. When a wild stallion and this family are captured from Wyoming's Red Desert by the U.S. government, Blair Staples must fight a broken bureaucratic system in attempt to rescue them from a shockingly,
Starting point is 00:34:55 inhumane and inherently corrupt system. Blue Zeus on Prime Video. Prime, yeah. So it's the U.S. government's fucking around. So are they just killing horses? Are they killing wild horses? I'm confused. So here's what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Okay. And I could literally I could talk about this for five hours and probably still not explain every piece of it. It's very layered the problem. All right. Explain it to me like I'm a 12-year-old. I'm going to try to give you Cliff Notes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Okay. Well, wild horses have roamed the, a certain, I forget how many Western states forever. Okay. Years ago, there was a protection put into place by the government to protect the wild horses. It's the same protection that Bald Eagles have. These horses are supposed to be protected. So the government, the BLM, created this program because now, right now the problem is there's quote unquote, too many horses on the land. They're claiming that there are too many on it for the land to be sustainable. So they're removing them, but they're removing an third number. They do it by helicopter. It's insanely expensive. Taxpayers spend, we pay for this. We, our tax money, spends, they spend millions of dollars a year on these fucking helicopter roundups that are expensive. They're unnecessary. They're very cruel. It's terrifying for the horses. Every time they do a roundup, horses die. They break legs. They get put in pens. They try to jump out. Baby foals die because of the heat exhaustion because they shouldn't be running. Pregnant mares die because they shouldn't be running like it's fucked up. And the thing is, like, there are groups like free wild horses, American wild horse conservation and Claire Skydog that have paid, we've like raised money to do this research to find a humane way to help bring the numbers down.
Starting point is 00:36:39 And there is research that says that a fertility, implementing a fertility program that's humane to sterilize some of the mares with a shot is a better way to control numbers than the way that they're doing it. So these horses get rounded up. The ones that survive either sit in horrible government facilities that we're paying for. They go and the public can go and see these. And there have been times where they find horses with no water, no shade, horses that are malnourished. A lot of times disease takes over in these facilities and horses die. And then the ones that don't die there get put on a truck and sent across the border to Mexico to slaughter. And it's really fucking sad.
Starting point is 00:37:15 And so many horses are dying. And it's all kind of disguised by this whole like the BLM is helping the horses. Like they're not. They're actually not helping at all. Gross. And what's frustrating is like there are other ways. And to me, it's just such a good boys club and these guys like want these contracts.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Like these men that work at the BLM want these contracts because I'm sure they get paid very well to do these helicopter roundups. They don't want to change it, you know, because they're getting something out of it. But it's there, there are just such better ways and our horses just deserve better. Why aren't we sending like people who want horses in there to like break them and then
Starting point is 00:37:51 make them domesticated horses? There are a couple of really cool programs, prison programs, where they will send some of the horses to prisons and inmates get to work with them and break the horses and then they'll auction them off or whatnot. And like programs like that are very cool. But the numbers, the number of horses that get rounded up is astounding. I mean, it's tens of thousands of horses and holding facilities. Like it's too much for that type of program, like alone to help the problem.
Starting point is 00:38:20 but yes, more of that would be amazing. And the BLM, like, people, they do adoptions or people can go and adopt these horses, which kind of in itself is another problem because you can go adopt a Mustang for like $250. Like anyone can do it, which isn't great. It's like giving away a free dog. It's like you want to make sure the person that's taking the horse, A, has the knowledge to care for it and B has the money to financially be able to support an animal like that.
Starting point is 00:38:45 They don't check any of those things. They give them out like candy. and these people only have to pay like $250 a horse and then they can take it straight to a feedlot that's going to pay them more for it for that horse to ship to slaughter. So people are actually making money off of rescuing horses and selling them to slaughter because there's no infrastructure
Starting point is 00:39:02 for checks and balances with these Mustang adoptions that the BLM runs. Who the fuck out there is eating horse meat? Like what do you tell us? People in other countries. I think Canadians do China for sure. It's crazy. Also, I think they-
Starting point is 00:39:17 Canadians are eating horse meat. horse? Yes, people eat horse meat. But it's not just that. It's like glue from their hooves, right? And then donkeys, I think I said this before, but the Eastern medicine has decided that donkey skins have some sort of anti-aging miracle thing in them. And so donkeys are getting slaughtered in crazy numbers for their skins to be able to make like an anti-aging miracle cure for people. Like it's fucking crazy. Oh, that that's like the rhino horn to give you a bigger dick. And you're like, that doesn't do anything, you're an idiot. Yeah. Well, that sucks. So anyway, go watch Blue Zeus. I like donkeys. They're the fucking best.
Starting point is 00:40:00 I love my donkeys. What are your donkeys' names? AJ, BJ, CJ, DJ, Buckley, and Banjo. Which one's the coolest? I mean, I love them all, but... Come on, you got a favorite. Buckley is kind of my favorite. Why?
Starting point is 00:40:14 I don't know. He just has so much personality. Does he? Yeah. He's a cutie. C.J. BJ. Buckley. AJ, BJ, CJ, DJ.
Starting point is 00:40:24 What are their acronyms for? Is it like Benjamin Joseph, Adrian, Jeremy? No. No. Chris Johnson. No. You have five or four? You have six donkeys?
Starting point is 00:40:42 How many horses do you have? CJ, DJ, DJ, Buckley, Banjo. That's a lot. Banjo is a great. great name for a, banjo is a great name for a dog, by the way. That is a good name for a dog. Banjo, especially if it was like a hound. Oh, I might be stealing that, actually.
Starting point is 00:40:59 That's a good one. Do you have more donkeys or more horses? Donkeys. You do. Do you ever ride them? No, you can't ride them. They're more like pack animals. That's not true.
Starting point is 00:41:10 You can ride a donkey. You really shouldn't. They're not meant to be ridden. They're pack animals. Mules are different. Mules are meant. Mules were bred to be ridden. Mules also pack.
Starting point is 00:41:22 But donkeys pack. They also can pull carts and stuff like that. They're more like load bearing type animals. Their backs aren't really, it's kind of like a zebra. Zebras not, their backs aren't made to carry weight like that. Donkeys are kind of the same. Do you do anything with them? Why are you collecting donkeys?
Starting point is 00:41:40 Because I love them in it. They were all going to go to slaughter. Oh, they were? People were eating donkey meat too? They kill them for their skins And then they do what with them? The skins? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:52 They make like wallets out of them? I don't know how they get the I can't pronounce that. Yeah. Fuck, I don't know. Oh, my phone's dead. But here's a thing, Brady. I don't understand because like I've never been like, oh my God, look at those donkey skin shoes.
Starting point is 00:42:07 I must have that. That's the saddest part is like they don't use any of the donkey except for that the stuff in their skin. E.J. I.A.O. How do you pronounce that? Do you know? No. Donkey skin is used to make that word a gelatin product used in traditional Chinese medicine that is produced by soaking and boiling the skins to extract collagen, shaping the gelatin into bars, powders, pills, or liquid tonics for health benefits. Insane. Man. It's like insane. Like use something else. But what if it works? What does it do? What is it used for?
Starting point is 00:42:45 I don't know. I already expected it. What if it's a GLP one? Go take a GLP one then. I mean, that's maybe that's... You don't need to be killing the donkeys. I agree, man. All right.
Starting point is 00:42:56 So Blue Zeus, go watch it. Yeah. I saw this and I wanted to show it to you. I'm married, but if I wasn't married, I would marry this woman. Okay. Let me show you. A Kansas woman accused of herding goats through a Walmart while drinking margaritas from jug and then look at what she looks like.
Starting point is 00:43:20 This bitch looks like she is very fun to hang around and you know what? I want to be friends with her. Look, she looks like she said, hey, dude, let's get these goats and take it to Walmart. It looks like she's wearing scrubs. Yeah, she's like a nurse. She's probably like, she's probably like a saint and she probably helps people all the time. And she's a sweet baby princess that deserves to be. you know, protected.
Starting point is 00:43:47 And if I wasn't married, I would marry this woman because look how awesome. First of all, she's beautiful. She's lovely. She's. And she's taking goats to Walmart? Whilst drinking margaritas? Not from a glass.
Starting point is 00:44:04 Not from a jar. A judge. Is crazy. Can we address that? A hundred percent. But also, look at this lovely sweet baby princess that. I also like that it's like while drinking margaritas from a jug. That's the best part.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Because they wanted to be like, she wasn't just drinking it from like a mug or a glass. It was a jug. It was like a problem. It was like too much margarita. And then this is what she looks like. What a sweet, sweet lovely lady. Wow. Anyways, if Sarah divorces me.
Starting point is 00:44:43 That's where you're going. I'm going to Walmart looking for goats. What do you got coming up? Well, I was supposed to be in fucking Toronto today, you know? What happened, eh? Woke up at 7.30 a.m. My alarm was set for because I had to leave for the airport at 8.30. Picked up my phone and my flight was canceled.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Thanks, thanks Air Canada. Fucking stupid-ass airline. Why was it canceled? You know, the weather in Toronto looked a little, suss, which I was already worried about because this is an outdoor show. I was supposed to play like a pool party type thing. So I was already stressed about the weather. And then when I
Starting point is 00:45:22 saw that, I was like, fuck, the weather must be really bad. No, there's a mechanical issue. Oh. Like, fucking Air Canada. So, and they rebooked me on a flight that went through Detroit that landed me in Toronto after the set was over. Yeah. And there's no way I was going to make it.
Starting point is 00:45:38 And so I had to tell I called the promoter and tell him I couldn't make it. It was terrible. I'm sorry. I hate that. I hate doing that. people, you know, I've been talking about this show for weeks. Yeah. But, you know, not in my control. So we're going to try to reschedule it, but, you know, Canada is not warm for long. So their season is really short. And they were like, we don't know if we'll be able to reschedule for this season, but hopefully next summer we can make it happen. So bummed about that. But next weekend, I'm going to South Florida to play at Dare Nightclub in Fort Lauderdale. So that's exciting.
Starting point is 00:46:10 I only have like a few more shows left for the year. are public shows. I have like some corporate things later in the fall, but like not that many summer shows left. So I've got Florida next weekend. And then in September, oh, they just announced Palm Tree Club is opening a Nashville bar. They've got them everywhere. They've got them in Miami and Kansas City and Vegas. And I just played, they do a partnership with Mary Lou's and Montauk and West Palm. I've played a lot of their clubs. They're opening one in Nashville in September. And I am playing there on September 19th. I think opening weekends the weekend before with Kaigo. Kaigo owns Palm Tree Club. So Kygo's playing the opening and I'll be there the next weekend.
Starting point is 00:46:51 So that's exciting. That'll be my last Nashville show for a while as well. I'll be coming out to LA in September. When? September 14th week. I'll be gone. Where are you going to be? I'll be up in Monterey, but I'll be back like on the 17th or the 18th. I think I leave that day. Because I play Nashville in the 19th. You're welcome to stay at my house. Oh, maybe I will. My freaking mom is so annoying.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Yeah. Also, I'm like 12 minutes from your mom's house. I know. Do you want to watch Boo? Yeah. Well, we'll have someone watching her, but you're welcome to come stay. Oh, well, I can watch her if we stay. All right.
Starting point is 00:47:34 So, yeah, that's what I got going on. What are you doing besides going to Monterey? I'm going to New York. Tomorrow. Okay. I got to do some press because the big break, the show that I'm hosting on the golf channel, is starting on Tuesday. So I got to go tomorrow and then do press on Monday and then Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:47:56 And then Wednesday is when this show comes out. So effectively, yeah, Monday and Tuesday, I got to be out there. And then I come back and that's kind of it. All right. I need another job. Can you get me a job? I can barely get myself a job at this point. Well, yeah, you're canceling jobs because of mechanical issues.
Starting point is 00:48:16 I didn't cancel. Well, someone didn't. Fucking Air Canada. I hate flying to Canada. I like, I just want to fly Southwest. Is that too much to ask? Who wants to fly Southwest? Me.
Starting point is 00:48:28 Gross. But also, working Canada, I know we got a lot of Canadian fans, but it sucks for Americans to work in Canada. up because you guys take so much of our money. So much money. Oh. I know. I went and did that TV show there. I think I almost had to pay money to be on that TV show.
Starting point is 00:48:50 And I hosted the fucking thing. They take like 30% or something right off the top for taxes, like 30, 35% Canada takes. Yeah. And then by the time we pay agents, managers, blah, blah, blah, and then all that bullshit. And then we have to pay taxes too. There's actually, I don't know about, I mean, for me, musicians can say. submit some form in the U.S. if we've already paid Canadian taxes,
Starting point is 00:49:12 there's a form you can submit to not have to pay double taxes to not have to pay U.S. taxes on your Canadian income. But it's like a whole thing. Like it's, they don't make it easy. Yeah. Yeah. Well, anyways, come stay at my house. Okay. All right. Everything else good?
Starting point is 00:49:31 Yeah. Our house is getting painted next week. Are you going to be in your house next week? Two weeks. Two weeks. Two weeks. weeks. It's getting painted next week. The tile's getting finished next week. It's going to start looking, it's going to start looking like a different house. Are you excited or are you like, why did we decide to do this? Oh, like both, you know? Yeah. But right now I just like want it to be
Starting point is 00:49:53 fucking done. Like Matt and I both are just like, okay, this has been fun and all. No, it hasn't, but we're ready for it to be over. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But once it's done, it's going to be so sick. Is it? Yeah. Well, I wish you the best of luck. Thanks. When I come out there to where, do I stay at Miley's place or do I come to your place? You want to come to my place. Oh, I do? We're going to have a sick guest room set up in the, it's like a walkout basement and it's going to be super cool down there.
Starting point is 00:50:23 All right. All right. Yeah. I'm coming. Yeah. All right. Well, see you later. See you later.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Bye. Bye.
