Starting point is 00:01:21 Guys, look who showed up in Chicago! What up? We're in a, what is this? We're in a podcast booth, and there's people watching us podcast. Weird. You got the bell? Woo! Sounds, sounds tough in here.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Is it a bit sharp? Yeah. Okay, hold on, let me get my phone, because I've got a lot to talk about. You got notes? Oh, good, because I'm not prepared. You're not? No, I've been busy packing for this trip I've got coming up. We'll talk about it. Yeah. Yeah. You want to start the show?
Starting point is 00:01:52 Well, usually we sit and chit-chat for a little bit. Oh, okay. You know? Sure. We're in Chicago right now. We are in Chicago. We're at the Moxie Hotel. Which is a super dope little hotel, I've got to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:02:03 Isn't it cute? It's very cute, very kitschy. Tell me your first impressions of it. It's very Wells-esque. Yes, it is. It's like retro hipster vibe. There's like old books everywhere. What's cool about this place, they've got this podcast booth here.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Super cool. And I asked them, I was like, so can anyone use this? They're like, how does this work? And they're like, yeah, anyone can use this podcast booth. No way. Like, you'd have to be staying here. If I lived in Chicago and I had a podcast, I would just come here. Just come here and record.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Be like, I don't know. Oh, my studio's at the Moxie downtown. That's really cool, though. On the corner of Wells and Grand. Oh, my gosh. I walked down Wells Street today. Did you get to the cross section of Wells and Adams? No, because it was too cold.
Starting point is 00:02:45 It's like a whole mile away. And it was snowing. Oh, my God. And it was snowing this morning. And because I'm going to Africa where it's summer, I packed like T-shirts. Like the heaviest thing I brought is a hoodie. Yeah. So I'm sorry to say I couldn't make it down to the intersection of Wells and Adams.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Well, it's fine. You know, it's only my intersection. I do feel like you need to go for the Instagram photo, though. I walked down just to Wells and did a little selfie. Okay, you did a little selfie. Yeah. Oh, cute. But you know.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Yeah. You got to do what you got to do. So you're going to South Africa. You're going tomorrow? Tomorrow. I can't believe it. It doesn't feel real. And you've never been to South Africa?
Starting point is 00:03:19 No, never. Have you ever been to the Southern Hemisphere? No. Wow. Isn't that cool? So, like, the stars are different down there? Are they? No.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Yeah, they are. Oh, hey, do the toilets flush the other direction down there? Yes, they do. Wait, this, I take it back. I have been. Australia. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, like seven or eight years ago.
Starting point is 00:03:35 But yeah, the stars are, like, the constellations are, yes. You're looking at a different place in the world. I've got 30 hours of flying to do all this research about Africa that I didn't know. You're going to take seven Xanax. Not seven. Half of one. I took half a Xan. Help me out. Like a light. I'm probably going to listen to that as I pop
Starting point is 00:03:56 a Xanax on the flight. You want to go to the show? Yeah. All right, go. Bros knows you're listening to your favorite thing podcast with Wells and Brandy. Hey, am I the only one with a bell? I've got another bell. Oh, let me get it out. We just don't have a lot of room in this little studio. I know our studio is cute though. I'm a fan of it. I like it. I'm going to tell the kids why we're in Chicago. Yeah, do it. Why I dragged you all
Starting point is 00:04:20 the way here. Yeah. Um, so I'm doing this really cool event at the Moxie Hotel. It's called Bumble Spot. And it is with the dating app Bumble. They're putting on these really cool events at different Moxie Hotel locations throughout the country for people to bring their matches and hang out and meet them in real life, which I think is really cool.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Because... What are the catfishes going to do? That's the thing. You're going to learn real quick if somebody's not who they say they are hey maybe that guy who stole your photo oh yeah it's gonna bring a girl here you think did you see that yeah it's crazy what a bold move to use my picture but with danielle in the photo so like so let me get this straight guy your master plan is to use a picture that's not of you. It's of me.
Starting point is 00:05:06 A somewhat relatively recognizable human. Yeah. And then your main picture is with another really pretty girl. Yeah. Who's going to be like, I want to match with him. He's already got a chick next to him. Yeah. This guy, he's not the smartest, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:05:21 No. Especially of all the the like pseudo celebrities that you could use me really i know you're cute we could do better photograph well oh thank you you get it oh yeah yeah but anyway i don't know i just that really drives home the point of meeting people in real life and getting to know them making sure they are who they say they are um so i think it's cool that bumble is is doing this and putting on these events because i don't know instagram relationships and social media relationships can only go so far you know um you're married already or whatever so i think we all not married basically we all like really truly crave that like authentic connection
Starting point is 00:06:01 and that i don't know you dream of like, I want to meet somebody authentically like in real life. And I don't know, you just want it to happen. And I think that it can happen, but it's, you know, it takes, it takes stuff like this and events like this and people coming out and doing it. And I know it's scary to like meet people in real life, but the cool thing is here you've got drinks and you got games and you got other people and you got good music. And I don't't know it's a
Starting point is 00:06:25 cool environment to have a first date you know can i say what i like about bumble yeah i i kind of love the female empowerment aspect of it yeah me too so the whole idea is that the woman has to reach out first yep which that's just nice for all the lazy guys out there. Yeah, there's a lot of them these days. But I do think that it helps out because it takes the creepiness out of it. Because on other eating apps where guys can just kind of blanket message everybody, this one's kind of cooler
Starting point is 00:06:56 because if you're the guy, you at least know that the girl's interested because they've reached out to you, and then you can continue your creepiness or your whatever. This girl's taking a selfie. Hey. But what I really appreciate about Bumble recently is they reached out to me.
Starting point is 00:07:11 And they were like, they really wanted me to promote voting this year. Oh, yeah. I saw that. Which I think is just cool in general. Like, everyone should vote. Like, Jesus Christ, what are you doing with your life? It's 2018. Come on.
Starting point is 00:07:24 If you're over 18 and not voting right now yeah but their whole message was we want to get more females into higher positions of politics right now and so obviously it made sense for someone like me who has like a lot of women following them to use my social media as a platform to get that news out yeah and so i guess it was like the day before voting. I was like, Hey, I'm doing this thing with Bumble and we're trying to get more women into higher positions of politics.
Starting point is 00:07:53 And then like a day and a half later, when all the elections results came out, we found out that we had the most women in higher positions of politics than we've ever had before. And not to say that I had anything to do with that. Oh, it was all you, Wells. All you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Thank you. All your Instagram posts. But I do think that that is important. Considering the fact that women make up 52% of our population already, they should have a majority stake in our politics. Just a thought. Also, women are much more empathetic. Yes, they are.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Smarter, prettier. Yes. More responsible. Maybe not as rational. Better at multitasking. Shall I go on? Please. So anyways, I really like Bumble for what they stand for.
Starting point is 00:08:42 So when you hit me up to be like, hey, do you want to do this podcast at this Bumble spot? That's like a pop-up. That's what I was looking for, a pop-up. Yeah, it's a pop-up. It's an event. And it is. It's cool. I like that they are taking the initiative to tackle bigger problems than they need to in a sense. It's like, and it could easily just be a dating
Starting point is 00:08:58 app, you know what I mean? But they kind of go the extra step and there's some depth to this app, or at least, you know, to the people behind it and what they're trying to do with it which I think is really great greed love it um you know I what I was gonna say I had a point to you talking about the voting thing is I think I like that you did that because I think there's a stigma where women think guys either are intimidated by strong women or think guys don't want to be with a woman that maybe makes
Starting point is 00:09:26 more money than them or holds a higher position than them i there's just like this weird old school stigma to that right with our generation is i don't know that that the man is supposed to be in the powerful position and the man's supposed to bring in the money and the man's supposed to be the provider in a sense whatever but like times have changed so i think it's good for girls that follow you to see you know like a strong man who supports his woman and supports the other women in his life and wants to see women in office i think that's a cool thing well yeah i'm never gonna make as much money as never as my car while you're behind i think that's a funny thing though. When you set out to become successful, you think that success and money are synonymous. They're the same thing.
Starting point is 00:10:11 They're not the same thing at all. We're like brainwashed to believe that. Totally. Yeah. And I think it's really funny. And I see a lot of those comments on, like if I post a picture of Sarah and I, it's like,
Starting point is 00:10:21 there's some asshole that will be like, you know, well, she's like, like case in point, we went on a vacation together and it's like, there's some asshole that will be like, you know, well, she's like, case in point, we went on a vacation together and it was like, and I actually think it was like a news publication that was like, Sarah takes her boyfriend on a vacation. And it was a little bit like a fuck you. We split this, whatever. And then you see like a lot of people commenting like, I'm on the gravy train or whatever, whatever you want to call it.
Starting point is 00:10:43 People are always going to say shit. Always. And can I just put this out People are always going to say shit. Always. Can I just put this out there just real quick? Please, you have the floor. I will never make as much as my girlfriend, but I do pretty fucking well. Yeah. Can everyone just relax on that?
Starting point is 00:10:55 If I wasn't dating Sarah, I think everyone would be like, wow, he's really successful. But the fact that my girlfriend's uber successful all of a sudden makes me unsuccessful, which is bullshit. Bullshit. Right? Nah, you've been doing well thus far.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Yeah, I'm doing just fine, all right? You're all right. Serious no. Don't listen to the haters. I don't. I don't really give a shit, to be honest with you. My thing about the haters is those guys are jealous of me. Oh, 100%.

Your mom has a place uh in
Starting point is 00:14:05 malibu as well so i was like oh my god is everything okay then there's the next day i saw miley and liam's post with like just ashes and that love isn't crazy yeah those were concrete letters that they had laid on the front porch or whatever in front of the bay window and then and it's crazy like that's all that was left but it was also you know a cool thing like liam said like love is still there like in malibu like malibu such a tight community and it is just so sad like it it wasn't until i saw that picture that it really became real to me that miley's house was just gone you know um and i feel so terrible for her because she's on the other side of the world working so she's supposed to be on a
Starting point is 00:14:40 set right now trying to focus and trying to you know do this huge job and meanwhile like her house is burning at home and she probably feels so helpless and it's just a hard situation and super fortunate that Liam was home and able to get all the animals out um because that's what's important you know everything with a heartbeat made it out um but it's sad I like can't even get on Facebook right now because all there are I'm I have so many friends in the horse community that all I see are these people that you know I mean what else do you do if you can't get your horse out but just let it go like that's what a lot of people what it comes to is if you can't get a truck and trailer to get your horse out you just let them go and hope they make it um so i'm seeing all these posts people that have tied their phone number in their horse's mane and let them loose
Starting point is 00:15:20 and now they're trying to find them and you know you do see some stories where they're where people are you know reunited with their animals and but you know there's others that still can't find them and it's just so sad and i don't want to like go down a rabbit hole of sadness here but um but it's tough so uh i think miley and liam both posted and i've reposted the malibu foundation um is setting up a place where you can donate and they're really gonna work to rebuild malibu and um it's gonna go and the money's gonna go to and they're really going to work to rebuild Malibu. And, um, it's going to go and the money's going to go to people that don't have the money to rebuild.
Starting point is 00:15:48 And it's going to take a long time, but I have faith that they'll rebuild eventually. And Malibu will be back. Not the same, but it'll be back. It'll be just fine. Yeah. Insurance companies will make sure that's a thing.
Starting point is 00:16:01 And for those that don't have insurance, it's links like yours that are going to be able to help those people out aside from the the the animal thing sarah and i were talking about this because we saw some picture of like deer running away or something and she was like yeah and she was like oh my god i feel so bad for them i and and for horses and all the other animals there wild animals have been dealing with forest fires for eons. They know what to do. They know where to go. I'm less concerned with that.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Obviously, everyone's at danger. I'm more concerned with the idiots that are like, I'm going to stick it out. Oh, yeah. You know? Yeah. Because the animal's like, oh, I got to fucking go. Got to go.
Starting point is 00:16:39 I got to go. The fire's that way. I'm going this way. Yeah. You know? Anyways, it's a sad thing. It is sad. I feel bad for this way. Yeah. You know? Anyways, it's a sad thing. It is sad. And I feel bad for Miley.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Yeah, me too. But your mom's place. I think it's still there. Is it? It's weird how it worked. It's like, so Miley and Liam's house is up really high, like kind of up on like a hill. And then they actually have a second house that sits down below it. The properties connect and they rent it out to some friends.
Starting point is 00:17:04 And somehow that house is still standing. Yeah. The properties connect and they rent it out to some friends and somehow that house is still standing. Yeah. But the, you know, but their main house is completely gone. So it's weird to me that two houses that are right next to each other, like one survived and one didn't, you know what I mean? That's so crazy. But then my, I think my mom's little trailer, because it was on the beach, you know, down
Starting point is 00:17:18 there so close to the water that it's, it was okay. All right. Well, we can try to pivot out of this. Yeah. But it's sad. All right. Well, we can try to pivot out of this. Yeah. No. That's sad. I know. But if you want to donate, you can go to Miley's Instagram and Twitter.
Starting point is 00:17:29 She's got links up. And yeah, that's definitely a crazy thing that we don't have to harp on. You're a huge John Mayer fan. Mega. I don't know if you've been noticing, but John Mayer has been putting in some flirty comments on Halsey's pictures as of late. Yeah, but did you see where he reported that they're dating and then Halsey fired back and said, Can a girl post a photo with a guy without her dating him? She like shot back at him.
Starting point is 00:18:00 I don't know. I'll tell you what. I wouldn't be mad about it. I wouldn't be mad about it either. I like it. I'm all about the collab here. I would not be surprised. Let me just say this. I would not be surprised if that's a reality. Oh yeah. It's
Starting point is 00:18:13 totally his type. That man loves a pop star. Yes he does. Let's just be fair. And he loves an edgy pop star too. Oh yes. Taylor was a one off I guess. I don't know. Yeah but then like Katy Perry. Yeah. Totally his type. And he dated Jennifer Love Hew don't know. Yeah, but then, like, Katy Perry. Like, Katy Perry. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Totally his type. And he dated Jennifer Love Hewitt for a while. Yeah. She's not a pop star, but she's, you know, like, an edgier, cute girl. I'm telling you right now. You think it's going to happen? I think it's already happened. I mean, maybe. Good for her.
Starting point is 00:18:37 You go, Halsey. Yeah, I'm not mad about it, all right? Do you? Exactly. And as much as, like, I think I end up making fun of John Mayer, what was the thing that everyone said about Pete Davidson, like, big dick syndrome or... Oh, big dick energy.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Big dick energy? Yeah. John Mayer is the king of BDE. He truly is. Right? Yeah. Like, who wouldn't date John Mayer? I mean, I wouldn't, but...
Starting point is 00:19:02 Yes, you would. Maybe. You would do it for, like, a day just to say, I dated John Mayer. I mean, I wouldn't. Yes, you would. Maybe. You would do it for like a day just to say I dated John Mayer. I don't, I mean, I would have been like, just play me. Your body is one. And then he would hate your guts. Yeah, exactly. That's how you get in and out of, that sounded weird.
Starting point is 00:19:19 That's hilarious. Oh my gosh. So this trip I'm going on, 30 hours on a plane there and back. So I got 60 hours of flying ahead of me. Yeah. So I bought a few books to read. What you got? You were the one talking about Beartown, right?
Starting point is 00:19:33 Mm-hmm. Yep, got that one. That's the first one I'm going to read. Very excited about it. I think you'll like Beartown. It's really good. It's on the New York Times bestsellers list right now. Nod shocker because I said something about it.
Starting point is 00:19:42 You read it first. That's right. What else you got? I read it in higher, because I said something about it. You read it first. That's right. What else you got? I read it in high school, but I'm rereading 1984. Oh, wow. Because I just feel like it's a little relevant right now. Yeah, totally. And I started that on the plane here yesterday. And then I picked up two others. I don't know. I just
Starting point is 00:19:57 grabbed a handful of books from Target. Just your typical female-written crime thriller that I love. I like to weed out the good ones and the bad ones. Let me ask you this. Did you pick up any J.K. Rowling novels? No, I didn't. I thought about it.
Starting point is 00:20:11 I really, truly did. Here's what I'd rather do is I'd rather watch all the movies. Yeah. That's what I'd rather do. Well, that's what I've been doing. I've been reading the books or listening to the books. And then watch the movies. And then watch the movies with Sarah.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Yeah. And they're pretty good. Are you finished with the books? Okay, so I just finished Half-Blood Prince, okay? You want me to get into this thing with Half-Blood Prince? So here's the fucking bullshit
Starting point is 00:20:35 about Half-Blood Prince, alright? Dumbledore is totally fine with being like, hey Harry, let's go on this dangerous adventure to go kill a horcrux, okay? But he doesn't listen to Harry when he's like, hey, I'm pretty sure that Draco's gonna fuck you over, and I'm pretty sure that Snape's an assmaster.
Starting point is 00:20:55 And he's like, no, no, no, Harry. They're gonna be just fine. So let me get this straight, Dumbledore. You're totally fine with taking this 16-year-old kid into a crazy, weird horcrux adventure where you're probably both going to die, but you don't have the dignity. You don't have the wherewithal. You don't have the nicety to say, you know what? You're right about Snape, and you're right about Draco.
Starting point is 00:21:19 They're both assholes. They're going to try to fucking kill you at the end of this thing. Snape, just the name Snape just kills me every time. Like, I know nothing about this franchise, but it's a great name. Severus Snape. Snape. Snape. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Severus Snape. Dumbledore. What are you going to do when you're done with all these books? Oh, man. I don't know. Have you ever read Twilight? No. Or Divergent?
Starting point is 00:21:43 No. Divergent's really good. I watched Divergent, and I thought it was horrible. The books are so much better. Yeah. Yeah. What about The Hunger Games? You ever read those?
Starting point is 00:21:51 Yes, I loved Hunger Games. If you liked The Hunger Games, you will like Divergent, I promise you. Okay, cool. It's much better than the movies. Twilight, not so much. I mean, it's a girly read for sure. I've only got one book left, which is a two-parter in the movie series. Pretty excited about it.
Starting point is 00:22:06 I think I know what's going to happen. It's the oldest story in the book. Yeah. Before I said that Harry Potter is very much like Star Wars. Harry is an orphan or didn't know his parents. Same with Luke, you know? And then you have a wizard that takes you under his wing like Dumbledore, very much like Obi-Wan Kenobi. Makes sense.
Starting point is 00:22:29 You gotta go stop the resistance. Sounds also like Lord of the Rings. Which is the darkness, which is Voldemort or Darth Vader. And then I was thinking about the other day, because I know that, this is so weird, but religious people got very upset with Harry Potter because it has to deal with witches and wizards and dark magic and all this stuff. But if you read the book, if you just
Starting point is 00:22:53 take a second and read the books, it's very similar to a Bible story. Harry Potter is the chosen one. He's got to fight evil. Jesus has got to fight the devil. It's the oldest story in the book. Makes sense.
Starting point is 00:23:09 But it's great. Maybe I should read it then. I actually think that you would love it. Yeah, I probably would. I went into it being like, I don't know. I'm a 34-year-old man. What am I doing with this? Well, you know.
Starting point is 00:23:20 We're all children at heart. Yeah. And I got to say, I love it. Yeah. Oh, segue. Favorite character in motherfucking Harry Potter is Luna Lovegood. She's like this crazy, yes, favorite character. She's like this weirdo crazy character, and I love her.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Okay. And she is right now in Dancing with the Stars. Oh. Yes. Have you been to see it live yet? No, because I'm going on Monday. Okay. And she is right now in Dancing with the Stars. Oh. Yes. Have you been to see it live yet? No, because I'm going on Monday. Oh. To be a background dancer.
Starting point is 00:23:51 For Joe? For the finale. Wait, is Joe still on it? No, he just got kicked off. But like everyone comes back for the finale. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, so I'm in the, I'm one of his background dancers. Who else gets to do that?
Starting point is 00:24:03 Dean and Eric. Yeah. Okay, interesting. That is cool. I, so I'm one of his background dancers. Who else gets to do that? Dean and Eric. Okay, interesting. That is cool. I think best of both worlds. Like, I get to do the show, but I don't have to be that guy. Right. What did you guys think? Was it good?
Starting point is 00:24:17 I can't believe Joe's game so far. I got a seven from you? That one judge that stands up every time, he annoys the hell out of me. Yeah, he's annoying. It's like, sit down, dude. Yeah. Relax. Bruno. Yeah. He's like, sit down, dude. Yeah. Relax. Bruno.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Yeah. He's like, let me tell you something. This is why I love you so much. Fucking chill. Chill out, all right? Do you think Joe hates his life that he's made it this far, or do you think he's liking it? It was really funny, because I talked to him before he got kicked off. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Because they've been hitting us up to do this thing. And I was like, I really hope I don't ruin. I'm not the one that makes it so you don't win Dancing with the Stars. And he was like, really, I really hope I don't ruin, like I, I'm not the one that like makes it. So you don't win dancing with the stars. And he was like, he was like, no, no,
Starting point is 00:24:49 no, no, no. Like it'll already be in. Don't worry. He's like, and to be honest with you, I'm probably gonna win this thing.
Starting point is 00:24:54 And I was like, really, you're going to win it. He's like, yeah, I'm probably going to win it. No way. There was no chance.
Starting point is 00:24:59 And I was like, wow. I went home and I told Sarah and she was like, you can't say that. And I was like, I know. That's like throwing a no-no in a baseball game and someone being like, you're pitching a no-hitter. And then you can't jinx yourself. No.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Which is what he did. Who else is left? I think Bobby Bones is in it. You're kidding me. I know. He's made it this far? I know. Wow.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Yeah. He's made it this far. Okay. And I think Luna Lovegood's still in it. Yeah, that's what you said. I don't know her real name. If Bobby Bones wins this, I will die. That's so crazy.
Starting point is 00:25:32 But if you think about how you win this thing. The people vote, right? It's voting, right? Yeah. He has the power of a syndicated radio show behind him every single day. Yeah. Now, Joe and Kendall have a huge social media following. But, like, they're not
Starting point is 00:25:47 tapping into millions of people every single morning on their commute. When did Tinashe get voted off? I don't know. She was good. Yeah. Juan Pablo was really good. I know Sarah was very upset about that. From The Bachelor? No, no, no. Oh, another one. Demarcus Ware, who's a great football player.
Starting point is 00:26:03 I was like, these guys always do well because they've got great footwork and stuff. Anyway, so your boy, kind of dancing with the stars, got to do like... So funny. I got to do wardrobe. Oh, you got to. Poor you. That's fun. I'm excited to watch you.
Starting point is 00:26:19 That's the one episode I will watch. Thank you. While we're on The Bachelor train here, did you see the promo for Colton? Yeah, with a bunch of puppies. No, I didn't see that. Well, I saw the first one is like really a lawn gale. What's the tagline? What's he got to lose?
Starting point is 00:26:35 Womp, womp. I think it's hilarious. It's insane. You think that's funny? It's okay. It's virginity. Yeah, I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Poor Colton. It's virginity. Yeah, I get it. I get it. Poor Colton. Oh, my gosh. And then I saw the second one was him playing with golden retriever puppies. Oh, I haven't seen that yet. And I had to comment being like, guys, this is my thing. Stop stealing my thing. Stop stealing my bit, all right? He's got his own thing, I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:27:02 That is so funny. Well, he looks great in the poster I saw. Do you think that Colton's a sexy man? I think yeah, I do. I think he's like your classic all-american Yeah, you know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah, you know the whole blonde hair blue eyes thing isn't really my thing Yeah, guys with darker features and maybe opposite track. I guess maybe so I don't know I've never I've never liked guys with darker features. Maybe opposite track, I guess. Maybe subconsciously. I don't know. I've never liked guys with blonde hair, per se. It's never been my thing. Not to say it won't ever.
Starting point is 00:27:29 I'm all about stepping out of my box here and giving people a chance. But I think he's the ultimate classic, all-American, good-looking dude. Of the guys that were supposed to be The Bachelors, you have Colton, you got Jason, you got Blake. Who do you think is the sexiest? They're all just really awkward. This is hard because I love you guys so much, but it's hard because I know them all in real life.
Starting point is 00:27:50 It's very hard to judge because on TV they come off so suave and hot and manly and strong and cool, and then in person they're just like dorks. You know what I mean? I love them all. Honestly, as controversial as it was, colton was probably best choice as far as like it's right down there the lane for
Starting point is 00:28:10 them totally um i don't know i think i love jason but i don't really know that he would have like been up for it really i think it would have been hard for him yeah he's a softy well i talked about this on caitlin's podcast the other. Where he kind of campaigned for it. They all did. They all kind of did. They all did. And I think that was just a bad look. I know.
Starting point is 00:28:34 All over, you know? Yeah. I think I would have liked to have seen it be Blake. Just because I feel like Blake's very different than a lot of the guys that have been The Bachelor. And I think it would have been nice to see like a wild card. Blake's to me seems like the most normal dude. Yeah. And I think that we've gotten away from like finding bachelor and
Starting point is 00:28:54 bachelorettes are like normal dudes. Yeah. You know, they're like finding like these like beautiful people, which they don't need help with this. You know? Yeah. You should find just, like, normal assholes.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Because your average white dude is what Lana and I call Blake and Jason and, like, all those dudes. Totally. But Blake is the most average of the white dudes. Yeah, it's your average white dude, man. It's what you need for The Bachelor. But also, like, if you're a viewer of the show, you want to be able to relate to that, right? Yeah. And if you're a viewer of the show, I think a lot of people are going to be like,
Starting point is 00:29:27 I could never date Colton. He's a professional vault player. Like, he's out of my league or whatever. A little unattainable. Yeah, I get that. Not to say that Blake isn't, like, a great-looking guy, but I think that people would be able to relate to it a little bit more, you know? For sure.
Starting point is 00:29:40 I think that's why, like, Caitlyn was a great bachelorette. Oh, so good. She's beautiful, but she also was, like, fart jokes, waka, waka, waka, like normal chick where I think a lot of people were like, yeah, I can see myself with that person. Yeah. So I don't know. They've been like, they've gone away. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:55 I don't know how to say it other than just get a normal fucking asshole in there. Yeah. Well, I think because, you know, with the girls, they do. They get the girl next door, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Like Becca. Becca was a, yeah. Well, I think they, because, you know, with the girls, they do. They get the girl next door. You know? Yeah. Yeah, like, um... Becca. Becca. Was a great example of that. Great example. Beautiful girl, but totally, like, normal.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Rachel. Great, you know, same. Yeah, but Rachel was, like, kind of like a bad bitch. She was, but she was still very, just, normal. You know what I mean? Yeah. Well, she's a lawyer, loves sports, like, just normal. That's not normal. That's a lawyer, loves sports, like just normal. That's not normal.
Starting point is 00:30:27 That's a unicorn. No. You're telling me you got a beautiful woman who is also a lawyer who loves sports? No, there are probably millions of those in this country. Yeah, one of them is sitting in this studio with me right now. I'm not a lawyer though. Good try. Could have been probably.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I like to argue. Yeah, I don't know. I'm excited to watch. Of course I'm going to watch it. It's like a black hole. I'm not a lawyer though. Good try. Could have been probably. I like to argue. Yeah, I don't know. I'm excited to watch. Of course I'm going to watch it. It's like a black hole. I can't not watch it. Oh my gosh! What?
Starting point is 00:30:53 How could I forget? What did you forget? I binged the hell out of Haunting of Hill House. Oh, did you love it? I loved it. Wasn't it great? I literally can't find another show to watch
Starting point is 00:31:04 because nothing is as good as that. Oh, I got some stuff for you. I don't know. It was fantastic. Also, like, not that scary. You had me so scared. Okay, but did you, like, were you noticing, like, the extras in the background? Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:17 It was scary to me. It didn't bother me. I watched the first few episodes in the daylight because I was so scared. But then I started watching and I was like, this isn't that scary. first few episodes in the daylight because I was so scared but then I started watching I was like this isn't that scary I was genuinely surprised surprised and glad that it was it was more so about the character development and their story than it was about like the scary aspect of it like they did a good job of balancing that loved seeing Elan Gale wasn't it great I was such a
Starting point is 00:31:39 touch of Jim did you listen back that last episode he talks about a mold remediator it's so funny. I love mold and remediating. Oh my gosh. It was so good. But that whole show was cast so well. Oh my god. Did you see Nathan Scott in the last few episodes? No. He was one of the ghosts. Yeah, he was in it.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Yeah, they just did such a great job. So Theo, the one that looks like Angelina Jolie, gorgeous. You know, she's married to the director of the whole thing. Okay, so this is all coming together. Uh-huh. So I went to Alon's birthday party. He rented out this, like, really nice restaurant, fed a bunch of people, and she was there.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Oh. And she's very pregnant right now. Was her husband there? I assume so. So, yeah, he's the creator of that whole show. I don't even, I just was like, Theo! Yeah. Oh, my God! Because she came up to me, and I was like, okay, he's the creator of that whole show. I don't even, I just was like, Theo! Oh my God!
Starting point is 00:32:26 Because she came up to me and I was like, okay, a couple questions. Number one, that one scene, I don't know if you remember that one scene where they're in the funeral house and it's all one continuous shot that keeps them like jumping back and forth. I loved when they do that. And I love when they spin the room and you see something and you don't. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. It's like all the adults and it spins back around and it's the kids. So it's all one shot.
Starting point is 00:32:50 There's no cut. So they're like shoveling kids in, like getting them out. It was fantastic. So I was like, dude, oh my god, that scene. When did you cut? When did you do it? And she was like, oh yeah, it was 16 minutes of a continuous shot. Oh my gosh. I was like, I gotta be it was 16 minutes of a continuous shot.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Oh my gosh. I was like, I gotta be honest with you, man, that show, I hate scary movies or scary television shows, but that was amazing. And she was like, thanks dude. I also love your TV show. And I was like, ah! Really? You're like, my
Starting point is 00:33:21 show? My show? Yeah. Thanks a lot. That's funny. That show. Yeah. Thanks, Elan. That's funny. That's so cool. Yeah, I loved IMDb actors as I'm watching stuff just to see what else they've been in and everything. And that's where I saw that her husband directed the entire series. I think he was part of the creating team of it as well. That must be why Elan is in it because he must be friends with him.
Starting point is 00:33:44 I can't keep up with all that kind of stuff. I got a bunch of good shows for you, man. Let's hear it. I've been doing it. Manifest, still on it, still love it. Have you started it? Oh, love Manifest. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:33:53 I was on it first. You totally were. Totally were. I remember seeing it being like, oh, yeah. Great show. It's not like a bingeable thing because it's like happening in real time. In LA, it doesn't air until 10 o'clock on Mondays. Oh, but you stay up and watch it?
Starting point is 00:34:06 Yeah, but Sarah and I are such fucking nerds that it's like 9.30 in the morning. I'm like, that's not a bad idea. She's like, we gotta wait until Manifest comes on. I love it so much. So good. Initial thoughts of Manifest. What do you think is the deal with it?
Starting point is 00:34:20 I honestly don't know. Okay, so Sarah and I have a theory right now. Okay, what is that theory? Okay, so there's the have a theory right now. Okay, what is that theory? There's the black NSA director, right? He's kind of wary of... He thinks there's something going on, but now he's kind of coming to the side of the passengers.
Starting point is 00:34:35 At first I thought he was in on all this experimentation. It tricked me when I found out he wasn't in on it. For sure. We think that his assistant, this kind of pasty white dude that's on the show, he's a part. He's in on it.
Starting point is 00:34:53 I'm not shocked that they're experimenting on them. I kind of saw that coming. And then the main guy who comes back with his son who's sick, I think that he's going to break up with his wife because she's still in love. And he's going to be with the doctor. Yes. Did we talk about this?
Starting point is 00:35:10 I don't know. Me and somebody did because I was like, that's for sure happening. 100%. All for it, by the way. I know. I am too. And I like Danny too.
Starting point is 00:35:20 So I'm like, yeah, you guys just be together. Okay, okay. But I think that Danny might be a bad guy. I think so. He's too nice. That's true. Too nice. That's true.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Anyways, Manifest. Great show. Phenomenal find. I know. I know. Yeah, great job. What else you got? Have you seen Outlaw King?
Starting point is 00:35:38 Is that a movie? Yes. Netflix film? Yes. Not yet. It's on my watch list. I'll probably watch it on the plane. We have gotten to a new time in history.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Keep ringing the bell. Right now, my most favorite movie that I've seen is not a movie that's in theaters. Oh, this one on Netflix? Well, I think it kind of is, yes. Oh, really? Is that good? I'm telling you. Who's in this?
Starting point is 00:36:02 Chris Pine? Yes, Chris Pine. Hot. I'm telling you, it's a new world Pine? Yes Chris Pine Hot I'm telling you It's a new world We're living in Where movie stars Don't exist anymore
Starting point is 00:36:09 I know It's TV stars Yep I agree with you Or the platforms change The only time I'm going to go see A movie in the theater
Starting point is 00:36:17 If it's a Marvel Fucking Bang em up Explosion What? It's a least favorite thing Really Oh Stanley
Starting point is 00:36:24 So sad. Dude, pour one out. Excelsior, man. I really was hoping to meet him in my lifetime and not gonna. Sad. Great power comes great responsibility and he did some really cool things. It's amazing to see all
Starting point is 00:36:39 the famous superheroes do those selfie pics of him. You're those like, you know, selfie pics of him. You're just like, shit, man, I forgot. I forgot. This guy just did so much. Anyways, yeah. But he was 95 years old.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Good life. That guy's awesome. What I hope it does is it makes a bunch of young kids be like, hmm, I should do something like that. Anyways, back to Outlaw King. We're in a new realm. I'm telling you, man, where feature films are going to be on Netflix
Starting point is 00:37:14 and it's going to be totally a normal thing for us. It was the first time where I sat down and I was like, oh my God, this is a phenomenal film. Because Netflix has more money to make quality movies now than the studios do. I know. Because they're making more money. Real quick, like, synopsis of it. It takes place where Braveheart ends.
Starting point is 00:37:34 Oh, really? And so Chris Pine plays Robert the Bruce, which in Braveheart, he's kind of a bad guy in Braveheart. He betrays William Wallace in Braveheart. Okay. And at the end of it, he's like, I'm going to do better or whatever. I'm not really sure of the history in terms of Braveheart and
Starting point is 00:37:51 the liberties that... I haven't seen it in so long. Yeah, anyways. But anyways, this takes place where Robert the Bruce concedes to the English king, and he's like, okay, you're our ruler, and then he's like, F this. I'm gonna keep doing what
Starting point is 00:38:08 William Wallace did. And like what they do is like super like crazy guerrilla warfare and like amazing shot scenes and like the wars that they have are phenomenal. Torture. It is Braveheart with Chris Pine. Phenomenal. Okay, great.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Can't wait to watch it. In it. Yep. You know what's one of my least favorite things I tried to watch, couldn't get through it? The new season of House of Cards. Oh, yeah. It just does not hold my attention. You know what?
Starting point is 00:38:35 Kevin Spacey was... Yep. Say what you want about him. I know. He was the anchor of that show. He was. It's not the same. It's not.
Starting point is 00:38:44 No. And I love Princess Buttercup. I know. I that show. He was. It's not the same. It's not. No. And I love Princess Buttercup. I know. I really do. Me too. Jesus can't carry. No, can't do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:52 And honestly, that show has not been the same since, what's the girl that played Zoe? Mara? She was great. Is that her name? Kate Mara. Kate Mara, yeah. That was early, though. That was like season one.
Starting point is 00:39:01 It hasn't been the same since. Where he pushes her into the train? Yeah, I freaking loved her. Favorite character in House of Cards for sure. Definitely have a crush on Kate Mara, though, by the way. Oh, I can see that. Totally your type. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Cute, petite, edgy female. Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. Another show into right now. Okay. On Nat Geo. Oh!
Starting point is 00:39:19 Yeah. Plot twist. Mars. Okay. Okay, so. What is it? It's similar to like, it's similar. Yeah, so it's similar to the first. Okay. Where it's taking place
Starting point is 00:39:32 like 30 years down the road and we're trying to go to Mars. And they've got a cast doing that thing. But the thing that Nat Geo is doing, which is kind of dope, is that they're like talking about like the difficulties that they're going to have when they land. Or they land and they're like, there's no water here.
Starting point is 00:39:48 Or like, we've got to find shelter. And then it cuts to like Neil deGrasse Tyson or Elon Musk being like, okay, so when we get to Mars, this is what we're going to have to do. And then it's like this little mini documentary about what we're going to have to do when we get there that is
Starting point is 00:40:03 a counterpart to what's happening on the show. So I guess when we go to Mars, we can't stay on the surface because there's crazy storms or whatever. There's all these lava tubes that they're like, we'll just go start a little habitation in the lava tube. And then we'll cut
Starting point is 00:40:20 to Neil deGrasse Tyson being like, okay, so this is what we're going to have to do. And then it'll cut back and they can't find a lot of the two that they can go down. So it's really cool because it explains to you the science that you don't understand while showing you...
Starting point is 00:40:35 And then having romance and dramatics and all that kind of stuff. Good show. Okay. All right. Real talk, how far away from going to Mars do you think we actually are? Well, Elon Musk wants to do it, he wants to do it, I think, by 2030. Okay. I mean, I think he's, like, a little crazy.
Starting point is 00:40:56 I think I've heard, like, 2022. So in our lifetime, do you think? Oh, yeah. Yeah. For sure. So cool. And you know that, like, it's a privately run company, right? It's in the private sector.
Starting point is 00:41:08 The whole idea of doing this, aside from the scientific aspect, is to make it so normal people can go there. Well, yeah. It's tourism-driven, right? Like, that's the endgame for their investors. Makes sense. So I think there's a very good chance that, like, yes, we will see people living on Mars by the time we die. And I think there's a good chance, like, we could go if we wanted to. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:41:33 Which I think is super cool. Really cool. I wouldn't go. I'd be too scared. But super cool. Yeah, I don't know. Now I've got too much to live for. But if, like, my kids are, like, out of college.
Starting point is 00:41:42 I've got too much to live for. You know? Oh, my goodness. I do. I've got too much to live for. Oh my goodness. I do. I got too much. That's funny. I got too much good stuff going on. But if I didn't, I'd be like, fuck, I was going to Mars.
Starting point is 00:41:50 What else am I doing right now? Yeah. I feel you. Netflix and Outlaw King. Doing a podcast with Brandy. Yeah. And freaking Chicago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Here we are. You're right. So I know I talk about them all the time, but I just had so many people tweet me about it. I saw Dermot Kennedy live last week. Yeah, I saw you took a picture of him. He is so good. Oh yeah, they asked me to do that, by the way. That wasn't me trying to meet and greet
Starting point is 00:42:16 with Dermot Kennedy. I'm not judging you either way, dude. I was judging myself. I was like, man, this totally looks like I'm fangirling. And even though I was on the inside, that whole tour was sold out. I had to get my sister's manager to call in a favor or whatever hit them up and brandy come and they were like yeah she can would she be would she be cool uh meeting dermot after and doing a little social media post for us and i was like you know what i can do that for you guys yeah secretly yes um but he he was so good live his voice like even
Starting point is 00:42:43 better live if you can believe it. And the thing I like about him, like, when I met him, is, like, he's just a normal dude. Like, you know, like, super average dude from Ireland. But, like, with this insane voice and such an incredible songwriter. Just your average guy. Did you get his number? Loved it.
Starting point is 00:43:04 No, it wasn't that kind of vibe. It wasn't? No. But they did. So it was like a brief, like, it was after he performed. So, you know, I get it. He's like tired, whatever, just come off stage. So like a really brief, like, hey, what's up?
Starting point is 00:43:16 Like, you know, how are you? Great show. Chit chat. Do a photo. And then we left. But then his manager, his tour manager texted me and was like, hey, we're going out. Do you guys want to come? And I was like, oh, they like this enough to invite us out.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Yeah. That makes me feel good. But no, I got to be in bed by 10. See ya. Oh, my brandy. I know. You could have taken down Dermot Kennedy. No, it wasn't that vibe.
Starting point is 00:43:37 It wasn't yet. No. Okay, I've got some other things. Okay. I hate to, like, jump back to Bachelor World. Okay. Let's hear it. Did you see this thing with like Nikki Bella and Peter Krause?
Starting point is 00:43:50 No. What? How did I not? Where have you been? I don't know. Okay. So there was like this video. I guess Nikki Bella's got a reality TV show.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Who is? Nikki Bella. Yeah. Her and her sister. Yeah. I don't know. They're wrestlers. Yeah. You know who would know Yeah, I don't know. They're wrestlers? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:06 You know who would know this? I'm going to ask right now. Who? One of my friends, Stella, is really close with them. So there was, I guess, now that she's single, because she's no longer dating or married to, what's that wrestler? John Cena. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Now that they're not together, I guess on the reality TV show, her sister's like, well, we've got to set you up with someone new. I mean, maybe this is like a PR move. I think so. But in the video, do you see them making out? They go on a date. They make out. When did you see this?
Starting point is 00:44:39 Like last week. Where? On Instagram and everything. Instagram? Where have you been? I don't know. Like on his Instagram? No, it was like on E or whatever.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Ah, freaking E. Who's falsely reporting that Halsey and John Mayer are dating. I'm also falsely reporting this. That's true. And I'm very excited about it. Wait, who do I look up? E News? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:00 I can't believe you haven't heard about this. No, me neither. The other one that does not shock me, but it hurts my soul. Yeah? For our good friend, pal of the show, Benjamin Higgins. What about it, Ben? That Lauren Bushnell and Chris Lane are now dating. I think it's a PR move, too.
Starting point is 00:45:19 I just, I've hung out with all of them before. There's so much I can say that I'm not going to say right now. Just do it! Let Tish out! No! Unleash the Tish! I don't see anything about Peter Krause. Gotta be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:45:32 You're not... Just Google Peter Krause, Nikki Bella. Instagram. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no. Oh, wait. Should Stella hit me back? Oh.
Starting point is 00:45:40 Oh, here we go. This is so funny. That's all just one photo? No, it's like a bachelor date they go on. Oh, what for? I think for their reality TV show. I don't know. Peter's so weird.
Starting point is 00:45:53 All right. I don't get it. Stella's confused. Well, Stella doesn't know what the hell's going on. She's typing. I'll relay the response. All right. Dude, have you ever had Fatburger?
Starting point is 00:46:04 No, my brother loves it, though. Do you love it? I got Fatburger the other day. I ate it, and then within, like, 15 minutes, I had explosive diarrhea. Ew! I don't understand. How does that work? How does it work?
Starting point is 00:46:18 I know it's still in my stomach. How did it go out my butt so quickly? Maybe it's from whatever you ate before Fatburger. I don't think so. Trace loves it. Loves it. Starting point is 00:46:30 I'm a Shake Shack gal. Yeah? Yeah. There's one down the street and it was really tempting to have it today, but I was healthy and got sweet green instead. Ew. What's the food like in South Africa? It's good.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Is it? Is it like meat heavy or... I don't know. I don't really remember that. Oh. It's always my biggest concern when I travel is like the food sitch. You got to get biltong. What's that?
Starting point is 00:46:51 It's like their version of beef jerky. I don't eat beef. Okay. Well, this is like antelope jerky. I would never eat that. A poor fuzzy animal. But you eat birds. Birds are gross.

Starting point is 00:47:16 Oh, yeah? And you take it outside and you throw it against the wall after you take the shot. Oh, wow. It's so fun. Should we go do that later? I have to get up at six, but yeah. Why did you come in and out so fast? That's what she said.
Starting point is 00:47:30 For real, though, what do you have to get back to? I got to go back to Dancing with the Stars rehearsal. No joke, I land at noon tomorrow. And go straight to rehearsal? Rehearsals at 1. That sounds miserable. I know. And I know what I'm going to be doing there,
Starting point is 00:47:43 because it's the exact same thing when I was a background dancer for Lip Sync Battle. Oh, yeah. I'm like Left Shark in it, you know? I'm just in the background. It's like... You know, it's true. I don't know. I feel like Dancing with the Stars is going to be a little more intense.
