Your Favorite Thing with Wells & Brandi - Mookie Calls Him Wellsy & Europe Discovers Ranch

Episode Date: July 15, 2026

Wells can't believe that a World Series MVP (Mookie Betts) spent an entire round of golf calling him "Wellsy," and that World Cup tourists are trying to smuggle ranch dressing home through LA...X. And Brandi is still knee-deep in a renovation nightmare that keeps getting worse. As if her reno experience wasn't terrible enough, a dumpster truck ran over two tubs of paint in Brandi's driveway, and one missing sink faucet has turned into a seven-week (and counting) waiting game. Meanwhile Wells had the best 24 hours of his year involving a pool party turned into hotdogs, oysters and martinis, a hungover 8:30am beer at his Golf Channel show, and a round at Lakeside with Dodgers star Mookie Betts where he shot the best round of his life, which led him to drink more, because personal best, duh! They came into today's episode with nothing prepped ("literally zilch"), so they end up settling the aioli-vs-ranch debate and workshop who'd be Matt's real-life hall pass since, apparently, he "doesn't have one."FAVORITE THINGS:Silo (Apple TV+)Extinction (Netflix)Ransom Canyon Season 2 (Netflix)The Crowded Room (Apple TV+)Dungeon Crawler Carl (audiobook)Star CityLife, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness (HBO)We do this show for the few YFTers that are still out there. Starting point is 00:00:00 You guys, I am so blind. It's not even funny. I've worn glasses or contacts since I was in the first grade. So they are very much a part of my life. Like contacts, I've kind of got figured out. But glasses I have a really hard time with. I have the hard time finding ones that fit. It can be so overwhelming to order prescription glasses, not to mention the price can get insane. I have discovered Zeni. If you guys aren't familiar, Zeni is an online eyewear shop. You can buy prescription glasses. sunglasses, blue light lenses, all starting at under $30. It sounds too good to be true, but it's not. I just ordered a new pair of prescription glasses, and my prescription is so strong because I'm literally blind. But it was so easy to put in my prescription, pick a frame, and they ship it right to your door. You don't need an appointment. You don't need to go to the mall. You don't need to go get your eyes checked.
Starting point is 00:00:53 If you've got your prescription already, it is so easy to upload it and try all the different styles on the site. I found the perfect pair of like light pink translucent lenses that are so comfortable to wear and I see great out of them. The quality is amazing. Plus I got it for such an incredible price. They have over 150,000 five-star reviews and if you've never bought glasses online before, Zeni even has a virtual try-on so you can see exactly how the frames look on your face before you commit. If your glasses are overdue for a refresh like mineware, now is the time. Go to zeni.com slash pot. and use code podcast 15 for 15% off your first order. The style sell out, so don't sit on it.
Starting point is 00:01:37 That's Zenni-Z-E-N-N-I.com slash podcast. promo code, podcast 15. What'd you say? I said, we still do this because there's a few of them still out there. I don't know why we're still doing this. There's a few wife tears out there. Why are we still doing this podcast? Until there's zero left, we're going to still do it.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Even if it's like one or two, we've got to still do it. Is that true? Yeah. Is that how you feel about it? I think so. We can't abandon them at this point. They've been with us for so long. Like, we would be so shitty to just abandon shit.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Poor things have been doing this with us for way too long. I feel like if they've made it this far, we like owe it to them to stick it out. We have nothing today. Literally zilch. But it's good to see you. Yeah, same. How you doing? I'm all right.
Starting point is 00:02:25 I'm better now. What's going on? Well, I told you guys last week. that the move is just killing me. Yeah. And it's still happening. Yeah. Were you not out in the time of which you were supposed to be out?
Starting point is 00:02:37 No, which because I was given an extension. Yeah. A lifeline extension. Thank God. Because I just severely underestimated how big of a job this was to get out of this house that I've been in for eight years. And yeah, it just like came like, like the days were quickly approaching that I had this light book to come out here.
Starting point is 00:02:56 And the night before I was like, fuck, I can't come. go. Like there's still so much shit in the house that has to go. And I'm just to leave tomorrow and there's just no way, you know? Yeah. And then I just like woke up the next morning and I've just been so stressed and burnt out just on like all of it, the house, the moves, like just all of it. And I was like, fuck it. I'm going. Like everybody can just fucking wait until I'm back on Monday. And I need to go. I need to just have a couple days where this is just not demanding my energy for for three days and I'm just going to go to L.A. and have a nice weekend and I'll come back and deal. So that's what I decided to do. But I did leave Matt at home to deal.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Left him in the lurch. I did. Someone had to. Yeah. Someone had to stay behind. So he's there and still working on our house because that's one of the holdups is like the house is just not, our new house is not in a livable state yet. Why isn't it? There's a few reasons. Okay. Have you ever done a renovation? No. Oh, Wells. I don't recommend it. I would never. Never. First of all, don't do a renovation. Second of all, don't ever, under any circumstances, decide to live through a renovation. Let me tell you about me real quick. Your boy is a turnkey guy. All right? I'm not fucking around with anything. Most Wells thing you've ever said, I swear to God. Also, I'll have you guys know just preface that Well texted me 30 minutes ago about and said, I'm drunk, by the way.
Starting point is 00:04:26 said I might be drunk. I'm pretty sure you said I'm drunk, by the way. It started with I've had a long day. So then, you know, me, immediate concern. Like, oh my God, what has Wells? I said I'm kind of drunk, though. I'm kind of drunk, though. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:40 But like, like earlier was like, can we do this another day? And I said, sorry, no. And then you said, I've had a long day. I have. And I was like, oh, God, something bad has happened. And so I was like, I guess I'll just wait until I get there to hear about it. And then there were some other, changes of timing changes and then I got the I'm kind of drunk though and I was like oh my god
Starting point is 00:05:01 whatever has happened has been so bad he's had to get drunk oh no I had actually I had the most amazing day ever but before we get into that do you want to finish talking about your situation okay don't just don't do a renovate just don't do it yeah know it just say no because it is so difficult and so stressful and it takes way fucking longer than they say it's going to so yes we it's layered when you start ripping things up and apart and start putting it back together. You start adding extra things on. It's just so easy to add extra things.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Well, we're already ripping this out. We might as well do that. Well, we've already spent this money. We might as well spend a little more. And like the job just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Yeah. Which is, in the end, it's going to be beautiful. But like, it's just, yeah, it's taking way longer than we anticipated.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Number one. Number two, like without fail, anytime you order fucking anything, tile, fixtures, furniture, it's always going to take longer than they say. it's going to take. If they tell you that the tile ETA is three weeks, plan on five. If they tell you that the fixtures take nine weeks to get to you, plan on 12. Like, this is just how it works. Plumbing fixtures are like the biggie where plumbing fixtures, first of all, they're so expensive. And most of them are made to order. They're non-refundable. Like it's one of the biggest purchases you'll make in any sort of renovation. Um, so it's, you know, it takes a lot of thought
Starting point is 00:06:22 and a lot of time to pick out and get all this coordinated. And so you place this one huge order It's like $10,000. It's literally insane. And you have to make sure everything is right because you can't return any of it. And I did this huge order and I was told that I would have everything in five weeks, maybe less. Well, guess how many it's been? It's been seven. So I followed up and I said, hey guys, I was promised I would have this in five weeks or less.
Starting point is 00:06:44 It's been seven. Just wanted to get an update. Lo and behold, the company that I ordered my fixtures from California Fosses, I'm calling you out. As one does in a primary bathroom, you order two faucets, one for his. sink one for hers and it's the same faucet and there's two and we did this order and you know everything matches the faucets match the shower faucet the shower faucet matches the bathtub faucet like it all matches and california faucets made one of our sink faucets but not the other one and no one realized until i followed up two weeks after i was to have my shit and asked where
Starting point is 00:07:17 everything was and then they start accounting for it oh whoopsie it looks like they only made one faucet well guess how long it takes them to make and ship another one five weeks and you can't You can't install one faucet without having the other one. First of all, because they won't ship everything unless it's all together. And even if they did ship everything when it was all together, the plumber won't come back twice. So all your fucking fixtures have to be there for them to come and install. So I have to wait for this one faucet before I can have all my plumbing fixtures installed. Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I'm telling you don't renovate. Just don't do it. So much just happened. Oh, yeah. Also, I ordered like a massive order of paint. Yeah. Shout out. Portola paints. I'm doing a partnership with them. I've been a huge fan of their product for a long time. They do like really gorgeous shades in Roman clay, lime wash. It's all really trendy right now. And I'm so excited about that for this house. And so I did a huge order, you know, because they ship it from California and get my paint shipment. It gets delivered. And as my luck is, it got delivered. And minutes later, some fucking dude, I'm sure, showed up to swap out our dump. You know, for our, for the, the garbage that we're at when the, in the demolition,
Starting point is 00:08:30 we have a dumpster that gets swapped out. And whoever came and swapped our fucking dumpster ran over two of my boxes of paint. Oh. In the driveway. So now. So now you have a painted driveway? Well, not only that, but like four, like four huge tubs of like 20 kilos each of paint all destroyed.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Yeah. So now I have to do another paint order and they have to, it just takes so long to get all this stuff. and it just keeps setting us back. Yeah. So that's where we're at. How do you get the paint off the driveway? Fuck, I don't give a shit at this point.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Yeah, that's... It was expensive paint, so... Was it? Yeah. Well, those fuckers with the dumpster, though, are going to pay for it. Are they? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Yeah. How much does it cost to get a dumpster, like you have one of the long ones? It's so expensive. Is it what? Is it a thousand dollars? It's 500. The size we got is 500 a dumpster.
Starting point is 00:09:24 And we've been, been through five or six. Really? Yeah, it's crazy. That's crazy. I know. Just to throw things away. Oh, let me tell you what.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Turnkey. Yeah, that's the play. You guys need to do this. I don't need to do it. I can't do that. It's insane. I can't do that. Like, it sounds so great to be able to pick everything out.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it just be exactly what you want. You know, it's not worth it. No. It does not. It's not. I can live with this trim because I didn't have to deal with it. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:09:55 Yeah. So yeah, guys, renovation is super fun. All right, well, you guys should do that. Don't do it. Don't do it. I think everyone at this point knows
Starting point is 00:10:02 how obsessed I am with skims. Today I actually laid by the pool on my skims beach towel and now here I am sitting in my skims cotton jersey loose short and I'm not even kidding. Truly, it's the one pair of shorts I packed on this trip
Starting point is 00:10:16 because I wear them constantly. Coffee run, I pull out my skim shorts. Chillin at the house, skim shorts. Podcast with Wells. Skim shorts. Fly home to National Monday, skim shorts. Like, truly, they're so comfortable, and they're just my go-to right now.
Starting point is 00:10:31 I talk about skims a lot. I love their underwear, and I'm really loving their cotton collections that they've got for loungeware. If you guys haven't checked it out, you really, really need to. I'm obsessed with these. It's the cotton jersey loose short. I have them in black. I need to buy them in every other color because I wear them so much. They are so soft, so breathable.
Starting point is 00:10:50 And seriously, they're just the perfect short, no matter what you're doing, especially in the summer heat. One of my other favorite products is the scoop bra. They have it in a ton of different fabrics. The newest one I've gotten is the everyday cotton scoop bra. It's just so comfortable. I literally have this bra in every color. It works under every top that I wear.
Starting point is 00:11:09 And it gives you just enough support while still being comfortable. I really am truly obsessed. Skims just does it right. Shop, skims, cotton, and all of my favorite pieces at skims.com. After you place your order, just be sure to let them know that we sent you. and select podcast in the survey and then select our show, YFT, in the drop-down menu that follows. Do it. Hey, guys, I don't know about you, but the best summer pieces are the ones that you end up wearing on repeat.
Starting point is 00:11:38 I have so many things in my closet, but I always reach for the same basics. And my favorite basics come from Quince. You guys have heard me talk about Quince before. I love them so much because they make elevated essentials using premium materials without the traditional retail markup. I love their organic cotton collection. I have the t-shirts. I have the long-sleeve tea. I have the tank tops. I buy all of these in like white, gray, black, and just rotate them through my wardrobe. They also have incredible pieces like denim. They've got washable silk. They've got European linen. They literally have something no matter what your

Make your summer wardrobe feel easier. Go to quince.com slash YFT for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. That's quince, Q-U-I-N-C-E dot com slash Y-FT for free shipping and 365-day returns. Quince.com slash YFT. Guys, I am the worst gift giver. I think one of my problems is that I wait of the last minute and then panic because I've no idea what to get someone. But I've discovered Zazel and it has totally fixed this problem. Zazel is this custom marketplace where you can basically take any product and personalize it. So I'm talking like a mug, a tote bag, a phone
Starting point is 00:13:07 case, a card so that you're not just buying a gift, you're making one and making it personal for someone. I think that's something that I dislike about gifts is when people just buy a gift card or just get another candle. I like when things are personalized. So Zazel makes this so easy to do. Everything's on demand. There's no out-of-stock situations. You just pick it, customize it, and it's done.
Starting point is 00:13:29 I recently bought one of my best friends, a couple of personalized dog bowls for her two dogs. They were so cute. It was so easy to do, and she was so pumped about the gift. So right now you can save 25% on your first order at Zazel.com. That's 25% savings on your first order at Zazel. Zazel.com. Go make something
Starting point is 00:13:49 amazing. Zazzle.com. Let me tell you about my day today. Okay, so... Sun, tan, golf, alcohol. A lot of tanning. So yesterday was some soccer game. Okay. I don't even know which one it was.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Didn't tell you. But I was like, I'm going to have a pool party. Sarah's in Europe. I'm all by myself. I wanted to have a pool party. So my brother came over with his kid. Cute. We had a couple friends come over. We grilled hot dogs and oysters. Okay, interesting combo.
Starting point is 00:14:19 I know, but I kind of want that to be my, like, memoir, hot dogs and oysters. Okay. That's great. Okay. Everyone loved everything. It was amazing. Soccer game was fun, whatever. I've got a TV outside now.
Starting point is 00:14:31 That's like my, I now live outside with like a glass of wine and I'm watching TV out there. It's much better. Great. The soccer game ended and then we're like, well, let's go get some food. So then we went and got sushi. Where'd you go? I don't remember. But don't recommend.
Starting point is 00:14:48 No, it was amazing. It was right there on Ventura, you know. One of those? It's every sushi restaurant on Ventura is good. It is. We went to a good one. Okay. Kiwami?
Starting point is 00:15:00 No clue. One of my faves. Might have been drunk, okay? Might have. Might have been drunk. We drank there and ate fantastic. Okay. And then we went to Black Market.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Do you know that place? Yeah, the bar is great. Yep. I know the bartender. Of course you do. That's bad. We ordered martinis because why not? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:22 And then someone spilled a water on me. Okay. And I was like, well, I got to get the fuck out of here. Like this, I can't live this life. I'll show you the picture at some point. Right. I'm just covered in water. And I was like, guys, I got to go.
Starting point is 00:15:36 I'm sure it was more like, I don't know. And I was like, I'm going to walk home. Because it was right, you know, it's pretty close to where. It's like a mile walk. It's kind of fun. And I was like, I'm going to walk up. But, of course, I did not.
Starting point is 00:15:49 I got an Uber and I came back home. Came home, fed the dog, went to sleep. By the way, this is like 9.45. Oh. Not impressive. But we'd been drinking all day and then we went, you know, those guys that I hung out with that day came back over here and continued to drink at my house. I loved it.
Starting point is 00:16:11 I had to wake up. So I woke up at 7 a.m. because I had to go record my show for the Golf Channel. Tough. I bet. Not where I wanted to be. I was puffy. It wasn't in a good place.
Starting point is 00:16:24 My head hurt. So I went over there. I walk into the studio. And I love this because the Golf Channel people will never know that this happened. But the YFTers, if they happen to watch the Golf Channel show, they might pick up on it. I walk into the studio and I go, so there's like a big refrigerator full of Gatorades, Diet Coke. and beer.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Okay. This is at 8.30 in the morning. Wow. And I was like, grabbed a beer. And I walked out. And so it's like all the producers and like the boss. And I was like, guys, I'm going to do something right now and I want no one to judge me for what's about to happen. You chugged the beer?
Starting point is 00:17:02 So I popped open a beer and I was like, I'm having this. I need this to like get back normal. And they're like, okay. By the way, my co-host goes, you're having a beer? I'm hungover. I want a beer. So I was like, amazing. So went and got him a beer.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And then our guest, he went to the soccer game last night. And I even, I gave him it out. I was like, hey, man, if you don't want to do this, no worries. We can do this like later. And he was like, no, I got to, we'll do this. So he shows up. I'm holding a beer as they walk into the studio. Chad's holding a beer.
Starting point is 00:17:42 And Ross goes, what's going? going on? It's 8.30 in the morning. We're like, listen, we had a night last night. It was tough. And he goes, can I have one of those? I went to the Chatea-Mormat last night after the game and cut and just had a night. I'm so hungover. I almost canceled this. And I was like, I got to be honest with you, I almost canceled this too. Anyways, we did the show. It was lovely. It was very fun. I love it. So then we went and played golf. because that was kind of like how we got him to come on the show is like, hey, we'll take you out to Lakeside. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:18 So we go out to play Lakeside, and our fourth is Mooki Betz. Do you know who Mooki Betz is? No. Okay. He's from Nashville, actually. Other than Shohei Otani, he might be the best Dodger out there.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Oh. He's an insane athlete. He's so good at baseball, obviously. professional baseball player. He also is an insane bowler for some reason. Interesting. Like he will roll 300s, no problem. Wow, I can barely hit 100.
Starting point is 00:18:53 I know, right? If you break 100, it's a great day. So he's amazing at that. And then he has now, like, taken up amongst himself to, like, get really good. So we go out and play because we've been wanting Mookie to come on the show, but he's like, we should play before I come on the show. And we're like, 100%. But he's like, but I can only play nine?
Starting point is 00:19:14 We're like, why can you only play nine? He's like, well, I have a game tonight against the diamond backs. And I was like, we don't have to do this at all. Like, it's okay. We can do it later. Nope, I want to go play. So anyways, it was me and Mookie on the same team. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:30 And my buddy Chad and Ross Butler on the other team. Okay, so those are the teams. I'm with arguably one of the greatest baseball players of our generation. Insane. As my teammate, we proceed to beat the ever-living shit out of Ross and Chad. It was amazing. Mookie and I birdied the first hole. I don't know what any of that means.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Whatever. It doesn't matter. Mookie and I burtied the first hole. Does that mean hole in one? No. Hole in one is just hitting one shot in the hole. What's a birdie? One under what par is.
Starting point is 00:20:06 So like a long... What fuck is par? Okay. Good question. Let's say it's like a 400-yard hole. Okay. You could never make that in one because you can't drive the ball that far. So that's a par four.
Starting point is 00:20:19 You have to hit the second shot in and then you have two putts to make a par. Does that make sense? Sure. Or on a par three, that's like a hundred yards. So is par like the ideal number of swings it takes to get it in the hole? That's what you're striving for is par. Yeah. But if you make it in one less than that, that's a birdie.
Starting point is 00:20:37 And if you make it one over. than that, that's a bogey. Oh. And then two over of that is a double boge. And two under of that is a eagle or if it's a par three, it's a hole in one. My mom's dog's name is a bogey.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Really? Anyways, Mooki and I beat the ever-living shit out of Chad and Ross. Is Chad good? He's so good. Oh. He's like, he's a plus handicap. That means nothing to you, but he's like he's so good. I'm a four. He's six better.
Starting point is 00:21:09 than me. Does that make sense? Sure. Anyway, so, Mookie, the entire day was calling me Wellsey. And I know you call me Wellsey and a lot of people, but do you know how cool it is to have like a World Series MVP come up with a nickname for you? Oh, it's so cool. You've never felt better. That would be like Miley coming over and be like, Wellesie. I'll be like, oh, fuck yes. I've made it. She also gave you a nickname. Yeah, Adam Wells. So anyways, we play with him on the front night. He then has to leave to go to Dodger Stadium to play the Diamondbacks.
Starting point is 00:21:49 So then we're like making the turn. And this guy comes up. His name is Brock. And he was like, hey, do you mind if I play the back with you? It's just me. And we're like, hell yeah. We lost Moogie. You're in.
Starting point is 00:21:59 So then we went and played. So then it was me and Brock versus Chad and Ross. I swear to God, Brandy, I think I shot my lowest score ever today. Good. Yeah. Wow. I think I shot even par today. Wow.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Which is crazy. Insane. So anyways, that happened. And then we went inside and we watched the rest of soccer game. Everyone was like, what did you shoot? And I was like, I don't know what I shot. I think I shot. And then I started figuring out.
Starting point is 00:22:26 And then I was like, well, now we have to drink because personal best. Wow. You know? I'd be like, if you went and did like your horse thing and you did like the best horse thing ever. I'd probably have some champagne. Yeah. Yeah. So anyways, that's where we are right now.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Wow. Okay. After this podcast, will you be going out to continue the celebration? No. I will be going to bed immediately. Okay. Your boy needs to go to sleep. I have to go to England on Monday.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Have to. Someone's got to go to England. You are going to England. I am. Last time I talked to you were literally like, oh, there's a 90% chance. I said 7030. And, but I said 30% that I would go. No, that's now 100%.
Starting point is 00:23:08 I'm going. Yeah. All right. Yeah, you rest up. I need some time. I know. These last two days have been a lot. Should we set the show?
Starting point is 00:23:16 Yes, we should. Bro. You're listening to your favorite thing podcast with. Wells and Brandy. John Wells and Brandy. Yes. All right, everyone knows that I like a good glass of wine at the end of the day, but I never really know where to buy good wine.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Usually just grab something and hope for the best, but that's not how you should be working with wine, right? Starting point is 00:25:56 That's Poshmark, P-O-S-H-M-A-R-K dot com slash Y-F-T. I'm not, do I seem drunk? You seem buzzed. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. You're very energetic. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Yeah. Is it bad or good, do you think? That's great for the show. Yeah. Yeah. You got any favorite things, bro? Not really. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:16 I'm not going to lie to you. Except I am caught up on silo. Okay. I have thoughts on silo. Okay. Because now I've caught up. This is what I think. I think they say in the end of season two
Starting point is 00:26:29 that they mess with the water. Yeah. To make you forget. Yes. And I think that they are giving her in. amnesia that way because they don't want her to remember what's going on. Yeah. But so I went back and watched the last episode of season two.
Starting point is 00:26:47 Okay. I just wanted to refresh. You're right about that. What I don't understand is like if they're going to do the water thing, then wouldn't she forget anyway? Why the pills? Yeah. That's a good question.
Starting point is 00:26:59 Yeah. It's annoying that like she doesn't know what's going on. It is. And it's, I don't know. Like I hate to say it's unbelievable. but like I just have a hard time. I don't know. Like I have a hard time.
Starting point is 00:27:10 You would think that, okay, let's just say this was real life. Like you would think that a human's like nature and their nature is something you can't erase, right? Like yeah, you can take their memory, but you can't erase like the nature of who she is, which is like rebellious, not one to take orders, like not a follower. You know what I mean? So it's hard for me to believe that she would just so easily take these pills from these people and do everything that they say and be their little robot because. memory or not, it's just not who she is.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Yeah. So that's my hard time with it. Fair enough. I think she's going to remember very quickly. Yeah. I think, you know, if... They're on it, though. Like, spoiler alert.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Fast forward a minute if you don't... But like, you know, she's... She, like, stopped taking the pills for one fucking day and they found them in the sink. Like, they're on it. Yeah. She needs to figure out about the camera. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:02 Why does no one know that they've got cameras in there? I don't know. It seems crazy. Yeah. But the show's good. It is great. I'm excited for them to go into the past. Yep.
Starting point is 00:28:13 After talking to Colin Hanks and being like, well, you, your whole storylines in the past. Yeah. Like, he never did a scene with Rebecca Ferguson. Is he the senator? No, he hasn't been introduced yet. Oh, we haven't seen him yet. Yeah. What do you think happened?
Starting point is 00:28:28 Because there was a dirty, like Iran dropped a dirty bomb on us. And then the senators. sisters flying through the air and there was like it went through a cloud that was like goop. Do you know what I'm talking about? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:44 What happened? I don't know. Do you think it's aliens? That'd be sick. It could be aliens. It could be aliens. Or, yeah, I don't know. Like the only thing I can think is if like
Starting point is 00:28:55 the government sabotaged them but like why would they do that? Yeah. I don't know. And also none of this could be real. That's true. I don't care. I still like that shell.
Starting point is 00:29:05 I do too. Is this the last season? No, they've got, Colin told me that they filmed three and four. Oh, okay. So. Is it? Yeah. Dude, I watched a really fun movie the other day on Netflix called Extinction.
Starting point is 00:29:19 You're seeing that? No. Wait, I don't think so. Michael Pena. I don't know who that is. You don't know who Michael Pena is? I don't think so. He was in like Ant Man.
Starting point is 00:29:28 I never saw Ant Man. Is that crazy? Yeah. Oh. A father has a recurring dream of losing his family. His nightmare turns into reality when the planet is invaded by a force bent on destruction, fighting for their lives. He comes to realize an unknown strength to keep them safe from harm, extinction on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Okay. So effectively, he's having all these bad dreams. And it's like affecting his life and his work and everything. And then all of a sudden they start like coming true. The planet is invaded by aliens. and they come in. They're trying to kill everybody and all this stuff. And then like just like him like fighting for his life and fighting for his family and all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:30:14 And then there's a very fun twist in it. Okay. That I did not see coming. Really? I got to be honest with you. But it's Michael Pena. Okay. Lizzie Kaplan.
Starting point is 00:30:26 You know who that? Yeah. Yeah. And then whoever else. I think you guys would like it actually. Is it new? No. No.
Starting point is 00:30:33 2018. Okay. Very fun. All right. I'll watch that. Are you caught up on House of the Dragon? Yes. I thought the last episode was like a little bit boring.
Starting point is 00:30:44 It was like whatever. Yeah. Yeah. I know. That's the only bad thing about starting with such a huge episode with episode one is like now everything else is going to kind of seem like, man, but. Yeah. Still great.
Starting point is 00:30:57 One of my favorite things that's happening in the world right now is all these Europeans who are hanging out in America. for the World Cup. And they have discovered ranch dressing. Oh, that's a good one. They have now at the airport, you can't take too much ranch dressing home with you. Oh, wow. Because they're all bringing ranch dressing home with them.
Starting point is 00:31:22 They can just lick up how to make ranch dressing and do that at home. Yes, by the way. Right? It's like mayonnaise, sour cream. Like, it can't be that hard. It's very simple. Yeah. So they're all obsessed with ranch dressing.
Starting point is 00:31:33 They are. Totally. They're going to Costco, which is very funny to see Europeans go to Costco because they're like, what the fuck is this? I mean, I would dare to say Costco's rent dressing is probably not the best. No, I know. But they're going to the big box stores and just getting big things of it. No, I think it's still ranch. I mean, I know, but like Hidden Valley Ranch ain't it?
Starting point is 00:31:54 You know, like you got to get the good ranch. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Homemade ranch is very good. Very good. But anyways, all these Europeans have never had ranch and now they're very excited about ranch. ranch. And so they're trying to fly back to Europe with ranch, which brings into question, wait, hold on. I'm pretty sure you could just make ranch over there. And you could sell it pretty easily. I would think. It's a very easy recipe. It's mayonnaise. It's sour cream. It's dill.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Yep. I think that's it. Is that it? They were like, we've got to bring this back. It's like, hold on, you can just totally make this. Yeah. Anyways, I love that Europeans are like, oh, shit. Because Europeans like to dip their fries into mayonnaise. But dipping your fry into ranch is much better. Much better.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Maybe one of the best things in the world. I agree. I do love an aoli. That's the same thing. But it's similar. If you're telling me that ranch isn't an aoli. Oh, it's like, Different.
Starting point is 00:33:00 It's the same thing. Ranch is like more liquid. Aoli is like more like thicker. Viscous. Yes. Yeah. It's more mayonnaise. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Yeah. It is. But it's still an aoli. Maybe. It's a creamy mayonnaise based sauce. It's more liquid. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Fair enough. Well, I know you never watched Ransom Canyon, but it's, the second season's about to drop in a couple weeks. I'm very excited about that. Even though the show's not great, I still Josh DeMall in a cowboy hat. Like, come on. I love it. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Yeah. What is that on? Netflix. Is it? Yeah, it's... Is it terrible, though? I mean, yeah, it's terrible. And Minka Kelly is the lead.
Starting point is 00:33:40 I mean, she's hot. She's hot. Not a strong actress. Very beautiful. And Josh DeMall and the writing's very bad. But like, I just, I like it. I can't help it. I do.
Starting point is 00:33:51 I like it. Josh Tumal's a cowboy. But what could you want? Passions run deep in a small town in Texas. Has three ranching, dynasties fight for their land, their legacy, and the people they love. Ransom-Ailstone. Is it?
Starting point is 00:34:08 Yeah. This is Netflix's version of Yellowston. Correct. By the way, I call it Yelston. Oh, okay. Minka Kelly's so hot. I know. Who's the hottest person in the world?
Starting point is 00:34:23 Who's the hottest chick? Lady, woman. Beautiful woman. Tough. Maybe Charlie's there. Really? She's so hot. Yeah, she's so tall, though.
Starting point is 00:34:34 She is tall. She is beautiful, though. Is she too tall? No, I've never met her. But on screen, she's gorge. I met her. Oh. She's taller than me.
Starting point is 00:34:44 She's beautiful. She was wearing high heels, but she was taller than me. She's gorgeous. But she, like, her face was insanely immaculate. Mm-hmm. Who would you say? You like dark-haired girls. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:54 No, I'll give you, I think Margot Rhabi's one of the prettiest people in the world. So, Margot Rabi is somebody that, like, I, if I could look like anyone, it's her. Yeah. But she's not like, I think, I think what I like about her is that it's like an attainable beauty where like Charlie's thereon is just like, yeah, you can't grow three feet. She looks like AI. She just is so perfect, you know, like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:35:18 There's something about Margot Robbie that's at least like. You kind of look like Margo Robbie. Yeah. That says that. Really? Yeah. I can see it for sure. Says with her.
Starting point is 00:35:26 But yeah, she's a good one. Also, like, I think Scarlet Johansson is one of the prettiest. I agree with that. I'm picking blondes, though. I don't know. Okay, I'll give you a brunette. Give me a brunette. Anaday Armas?
Starting point is 00:35:39 I don't think she's that pretty. Oh, I think she's so hot. No, that's not one I would pick. She's top of the list for me. Yeah, I don't think she's pretty. I really don't think she does. She looks exactly like my wife. No, she does not.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Kind of. Anaday Armas is so plain looking. What? I think. Shut. And Sarah is anything but plain looking. Your mouth. I do.
Starting point is 00:35:58 I think she's plain looking. You think that? Yeah. She's got green eyes, big eyes, big green eyes. She's short. She's got brown hair. No, I think Sarah's way more gorgeous. Really?
Starting point is 00:36:10 I mean, I think so, too. Sarah has such striking features. Okay. I'm really big on like features. Like features. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, what about boys? I mean, Brad Pitt's not my type,
Starting point is 00:36:21 but I feel like he's probably up there. Just in general is like one of the hottest men, right? I mean, I think that was, for the past 20 years, that's been the guy. but I feel like we have now entered into a new era. Who's the guy that played Frankenstein? Jacob Belority. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:39 I feel like that guy's handsome. He is handsome. I don't know if I would say like he's like the most gorgeous man alive. Yeah. But he's hot. Yeah. You know who I like? Who?
Starting point is 00:36:48 Tom Holland. He's the hottest man alive? No. That's not what I'm saying. He's short. He is. But I think that guy's a good actor. Oh, he's a great actor.
Starting point is 00:36:56 And I think he's a good time. One of my favorite things, like that he's done is that I always forget the name of it the crowded room remember that show God it was so dark and it like was just so heavy but he was fan fucking tastic in that
Starting point is 00:37:13 like one of the best things I've ever seen as far as like the credibility of someone's acting you haven't seen that what's it called the crowded room I think it might be a true story the crowded room yeah on Apple you didn't see that with Tom Holland when I tell you.
Starting point is 00:37:29 you he was so incredible in this but like it's it's a story that will like stay with you and like haunt you a little bit like it's dark but it's fantastic in manhattan in the summer of nineteen 79 a young man is arrested for a shocking crime an unlikely investigator must solve the mystery behind it before the true criminal strikes again the crowded room starring tom holland amanda satefried sidfrey and sasha lane very good so he's not the guy Well, you got to watch to see. Okay. I'll watch it.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Why didn't you ever talk about this on the show? I'm pretty sure I did. It came out a while ago. Yeah. Does it say if it's a true story? It doesn't. Hmm. 2023 that came out.
Starting point is 00:38:11 Yeah. God, it was good. All right. I'll watch that. You know what guy I think is really hot. Who? Theo James. Remember I talk about him a lot.
Starting point is 00:38:19 Oh, yeah. He's gorge. Yeah. Who does Matt hate? Who does Matt hate? What do you mean? Because you think they're attractive. Oh, who did I say one to?
Starting point is 00:38:28 Oh. he got so mad about Brandon Sclanar. I don't know who that is. Hold on. Yeah, you do. He's in, he was in Housemade. He, but he was in the Taylor Sheridan in 1923, that one. Oh, yeah. He's very handsome. He is.
Starting point is 00:38:43 And I said he was like, Housemade 1923 ends with us. I said he would have been my Hall Pass or something and it, Matt got very. Oh. But who's Matt's Hall Pass? I don't think he would tell. I think he was like one of those things or he was like, I don't have one. Yeah, shut off. You're shitty.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Whatever. That's the dumbest. I wonder who he would say. I really don't know, actually. What's funny is that like we both were like Margarabi, but he's Australian, so he probably. Yeah. There's a part of Margarabi that's hot because she's Australian.
Starting point is 00:39:14 Totally. So for him it would probably be not an Australian. Yeah, it would be like an American voice or something, you know? You should ask him when I'm not around and see if he can get it out of him. You want to call him right now and ask him? No, because he won't answer. Well, he would. He won't give us the answer to the question.
Starting point is 00:39:31 He might tell you, though. Okay. Next time he's over here, I'm going to corner him. Hey, if you had a Hall Pass. If you had a Hall Pass. Hall Pass is fun because it's a fantasy. It's not real. It's never going to happen.
Starting point is 00:39:46 It's never going to happen. But if it did, Brandon Skillard. He is hot. He's very handsome. He's got a mustache, though. I'm fine with that. Have you made out with a man with a mustache? With just a mustache?
Starting point is 00:39:59 Just a mustache. I don't think so. Yeah. I dated a girl who had a lot of, what? It's kind of trendy right now, the mustache. Too trendy. Yeah. I don't love that.
Starting point is 00:40:09 You dated a girl that had a mustache? Confused. Yes. Interesting. She was a bit on the hairy side. Interesting. I mean, that's what happens when you like the dark-haired girls. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:40:25 You know? You're blonde. You have one. You just can't see it. Look at this dark-haired girl right here. I love boo. Booby. She's a cute.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Good girl. Oh, I did finish dungeon crawler Carl. The book? Fan fucking tastic. Really? I mean, we're only in level three. I think they have to get to like level 15.
Starting point is 00:40:48 So I think there's got to be four or five books for this thing. Okay. So fun. Okay. If you like fantasy, I do. Dungeon Crawler Carl is very fun. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:01 But it's also really fun on Audible because, effectively, he kind of gets put into a video game. And so he's constantly being told by the video game what's going on. And so it's like a lot of voiceover of like, new achievement. You killed a horde of zombies. Reward? Nothing other than the fact that you killed a horde of zombies. So it's like that. Okay. So I know that that's, doesn't make a lot of sense,
Starting point is 00:41:30 but it's very, it makes for very funny moments where it'll be like, you killed an annoying lady. Oh. Reward. Okay. She's dead now. And you're like,
Starting point is 00:41:42 funny. Okay. I like it. Uh-huh. You know what I'm saying? Sure. Anyways. Have you seen Star City?
Starting point is 00:41:49 Yes. So we watched the show before that, uh-huh. Which is like the Americans version. version of going to the moon. And then we got into Star City. Very fun. That's like the Russian version.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Dom loves it. Yeah. Yeah, he was like raving about it yesterday. Have you seen it at all? No. I didn't see for all mankind though. Yeah, so that was the show. Do I need to watch that first?
Starting point is 00:42:12 Effectively what it is is it's the U.S. Russian space race. And so for all mankind is about like us going to the moon. And then Star City is about the Russians going to the moon. this is like an alternate timeline of the Russians beat us there and like what that means for all of us. And so like we both set up like bases on the moon. They're like right next to each other. It sounds like I maybe don't need to watch For All Mankind first. You don't have to, but For All Mankind is really good.
Starting point is 00:42:42 Yeah. But it's a lot of TV. It's like four seasons before you get to Star City. I know. Yeah. I would watch watch the last season of For All Mankind. Really? Yeah, because the main guy who's in like everything, Joel Kinneman, he's on the moon.
Starting point is 00:43:00 And what ends up happening is so just him on the moon, he's stuck there. A Russian astronaut walks over and needs help. But like we're in war with the USSR. That's interesting. Like what he ends up deciding to do. And then that season ends and you're like kind of not really sure what he did with the person or if he killed him. And then it turns into the Russian side of it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Pretty good. All right. Yeah. I need a show. The only thing I'm watching right now. Well, I guess is Silo and House of the Dragon, but it's like they only come on once a week and I need something for in between. Oh, I did watch first episode of Life Larry in the Pursuit of Happiness. Have you seen that?
Starting point is 00:43:45 No. It's Larry David's new show. Okay. Do you think Larry David is funny? You know me. I know. You don't like comedy. I know.
Starting point is 00:43:53 And so this entire show is, quote, comedy sketches exploring various historical moments with four different sketches per episode. Okay. It's just him doing like the Declaration of Independence. It's an entire episode with just him being like, okay. But also can we put in there and it's like the things that is annoying to him. Okay. If I'm invited to a wedding and it's not in my hometown, I don't have to go. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:21 You know, it's like little things like. that. It's just like very funny. You love it? It's pretty good. He's so funny. But he's just angry the entire time. Which is funny. Yeah. And also I just relate to that. Okay. Yeah, you do like to complain. Yes. I love life, but I love complaining about life more. But the cast is crazy. Larry David, Samuel Jackson, Kaylee Kuwoko. Barack Obama What?
Starting point is 00:44:54 Sean Hayes Richard Kind John Ham Like it's an crazy cast Okay And it's just him being Angry
Starting point is 00:45:05 If I liked comedy I'd watch it Yeah All right Did we do it? Oh I don't know That we did But
Starting point is 00:45:12 I feel like this is a good You know sometimes The episodes are short It's okay Sometimes I'm so sorry guys I hope you enjoyed My rant about renovating and I hope you never do it.
Starting point is 00:45:22 Oh my God. You know, I just realized we haven't been recording at all. Stop. We have to start again. I don't believe you. Kidding. How annoyed would you be if we had to do this again?
Starting point is 00:45:32 I'd be like, well then, I gotta go. What are you doing that night? No, nothing. You're just going to go back to Tish's house. Catching up on. I slept 10 and a half hours last night. It was glorious.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Bro. Okay, hold on, hold on. Get your phone out right now. You tell me what this sleep score was. I haven't been wearing my o'er ring. What? I think because the new one came out and now I'm just set on having the new one. So I just stopped wearing the old one, but I haven't purchased the new one yet.
Starting point is 00:46:03 So I haven't been wearing it. Sorry. I would love. I'm sure it was like 99, you know. It has to be 107. Yeah. It has to be better. 10 hours.
Starting point is 00:46:15 It was 10. 1.5. 10 and usually when I'm here and like the first couple nights I was here obviously, but like usually when I'm here, I'm here, wake up around like six. Yeah. It's eight in Nashville. And sometimes I can like, like eventually fall back asleep a little bit, you know,
Starting point is 00:46:28 but I still end up getting up like seven something. And this morning I, I maybe opened to my eyes like once before. But like when I like woke up, woke up, I glanced at my phone and it said 8.30. And I was shocked. Yeah. Because I went to bed at 10. Wow. I know.
Starting point is 00:46:45 It's pretty good. Great. I needed it. I need it too. I can't sleep in. I know you can't sleep. I can't. I'm a good sleeper.
Starting point is 00:46:52 If I get seven and a half, my ring's like, good job. 85. If I get under eight and a half, my ring is like, you're dying. Really? Yes. God dang it. Yep. Well.
Starting point is 00:47:04 So yeah, I need to just get that new ring. Did you get the new one? Sarah got it. I know. And I put it on. It's time. I got to get it. It's good.
Starting point is 00:47:11 I got to get it. But it's $400. If you have the MX Platinum card, you get a credit. I know, but also, ORA, if you're listening to our podcast. Yeah. Could you just hook us up? Can we just have them for free? That'd be cool.
Starting point is 00:47:22 And we'll talk about them all the time. I mean, we do. We do talk about them. I know, we do. What if we started every episode with, okay, hold on, what's your sleep score today? Then we get free rings. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:33 I never get the crown for sleep. Oh my God. I do all the time. I never get it. So disappointing. It's tough. Okay, so you're here for a couple days and then when you go home. Usually I'm so happy to go home, but I am so dreading the rest of this fucking move and
Starting point is 00:47:50 Stay here. But Matt would be upset that I abandoned him to deal. I go back home on Monday. So sad. You can stay here because I'm going to Europe. Who watches Boot Girl when you go? We have a dog sitter. Oh.
Starting point is 00:48:03 They say the night here? Yeah. All right. Well. Well, guys, we'll bring you some more shit next week, I guess. Well, guys, we love you. Sorry, we suck. I mean, I think it was still fun episode.
Starting point is 00:48:17 I hope it was fine. Yeah. Okay, bye.
