Your Favorite Thing with Wells & Brandi - Moving Sucks, The Birds Are Dying & Wells Hates Hotel Doors

Episode Date: July 1, 2026

Wells can't survive a vacation longer than five days and Brandi is one paint stroke away from losing it completely, but somehow they still found time to discuss House of the Dragon, hotel doo...r conspiracy theories, and the messiest reality show either of them has ever watched. (It's Miley trash TV approved!)Wells is back from his 10-day golf trip with a hot take on Mainers, golf course recs for a YFTer's husband, a hot take on the absolute filth that is Million Dollar Nannies, and a very strong stance on Nashville firework shows. Brandi is also back from a trip (one for the horse girlies!) and is now deep in a moving meltdown, having fully accepted that painting is not her thing. The two dive deep into House of the Dragon, trade 4th of July watchlist picks, and run through a stack of YFTer DMs on Survivor, Devil Wears Prada 2, and more!FAVORITE THINGS:  House of the Dragon From Widow’s Bay I Will Find You Million Dollar Nannies Voicemails for IsabelleDM us your favorite things @yftpodcast on Instagram, or call us up: 858-630-1856. Love ya, Fam! 🖤 Thank you to our awesome sponsors:Betterhelp: Start therapy with BetterHelp. Starting point is 00:00:00 You guys, I am so blind. It's not even funny. I've worn glasses or contacts since I was in the first grade. So they are very much a part of my life. Like contacts, I've kind of got figured out. But glasses I have a really hard time with. I have the hard time finding ones that fit. It can be so overwhelming to order prescription glasses, not to mention the price can get insane. I have discovered Zennie. If you guys aren't familiar, Zennie is an online eyewear shop. You can buy prescription glasses. sunglasses, blue light lenses, all starting at under $30. It sounds too good to be true, but it's not. I just ordered a new pair of prescription glasses, and my prescription is so strong because I'm literally blind. But it was so easy to put in my prescription, pick a frame, and they ship it right to your door. You don't need an appointment. You don't need to go to the mall. You don't need to go get your eyes checked.
Starting point is 00:00:53 If you've got your prescription already, it is so easy to upload it and try all the different styles on the site. I found the perfect pair of like light pink translucent lenses that are so comfortable to wear and I see great out of them. The quality is amazing. Plus I got it for such an incredible price. They have over 150,000 five-star reviews and if you've never bought glasses online before, Zeni even has a virtual try-on so you can see exactly how the frames look on your face before you commit. If your glasses are overdue for a refresh like mineware, now is the time. Go to zeni.com slash pot and use code podcast 15 for 15% off your first order. The style sell out, so don't sit on it.
Starting point is 00:01:37 That's Zenni-Z-E-N-N-I dot com slash podcast. Promo code, podcast 15. Hello, Wells. What is the lapel that you've got on right now? You ask me this every time I have this on. It's like rice in there and it's like a heating pad. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It smells terrible.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Sarah uses that. Sarah uses them. Yeah. Wells. Tell me. I can't. Well, I'm excited. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Am I in trouble? No. Okay. I am. What'd you do? I severely underestimated how hard it would be to move out of this house. Really? And I severely underestimated how difficult it is to paint.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Have you ever painted? Yeah. This room that we're in, I painted. It's fucking hard. Yeah. And I'm never very good at doing the painters tape perfectly for some reason. Me neither. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:28 I'm not good at any of it. I feel like I have whiplash somehow. Okay. Well, I had to paint my ceiling. Did you do that? No. Oh, God. We kept that way.
Starting point is 00:02:39 This. I think I'm depressed. Matt came home last night from California and he was like, you look not okay. And I was like, thanks. I was like, but I'm not okay. Love to hear it. Because I have barely put just even the smallest dent, both in the painting at the new house and the moving out of the old. one and I feel like absolute dog shit. Like my whole body hurts. I'm exhausted. And I've barely
Starting point is 00:03:06 done anything when you look at the full picture. Like it's very overwhelming. Why don't you make Matt do it? Well, Matt's been in California out of motorcycle show. Must be nice. He's back now. Matt and so Matt and I made this job. And I'm in the deal like I technically am coming out on top in this deal. Yeah. We agreed that I, would do all of the regular paint, and he agreed to do all of the Roman clay, which looks a lot harder to do. Do you know what Roman clay is? No. Is it clay that says like, uh, hey, I'm walking here. No, no, it is not. I recognize how bad of a joke that was. That was terrible. But it was really, it's really funny. It was terrible. All right. Tell me about Roman clay. Romiclay. It's like, it's not like,
Starting point is 00:03:58 lime wash at all. I don't know why I say that, but like it's, it almost kind of looks like plastery on the walls. It gives it texture. It's very matte. It's like this new trendy thing between lime wash and Roman clay. It's like what everyone's doing right now in their homes. And it's, it's going to look sick. But you have to do it by hand with a little spatula and you have to sit there and you have to do this. And the hard part about Roman clay is you can't take breaks because for one whole wall, like if you stop halfway through a wall and let it dry and then pick it back up, you'll have a line. So it's like once you start one space, like you got to keep going. You can't, and you got to finish it before it dries. So it's like very overwhelming.
Starting point is 00:04:32 And I'm just not, I failed art class. Of all the classes in school, like I was a straight A honor roll AP course taking student. Yeah. Except for fucking art class. Like it was just not for me. I'm not an artist. And painting is fucking hard. And I, maybe I should pay someone. But I like, we've spent so much money on this renovation. And the paint itself was very expensive. All this room and clay. And I was like, we'll pay for it because we'll just do it ourselves. So like, same, same. But now I don't want to do it. And I don't want to pack.
Starting point is 00:05:04 I don't want to move. It's all hard. Yeah. Why do you have to get out so quickly? Is someone coming in? Yeah. We're renovating this house on July 1st. They start.
Starting point is 00:05:13 That's in, that's tomorrow. That is. I'm supposed to be out tomorrow. And like, well, I mean, technically when this show comes out, it's like a couple days ago. Technically, I'm supposed to have been moved out. Guys, I don't think it's going to happen. Like I feel like I'm going to have to tell them like I'm so sorry I need another week like I have so much shit I've lived here longer than I've ever lived anywhere like up until I moved into this house I moved like every year or two you know yeah like when I was younger even like when I lived in California I lived there six years almost but I moved every year like I never stayed in the same place so I never accumulated a lot of shit and I had smaller spaces I was living in apartments and then even like when I bought my house downtown here I did.
Starting point is 00:05:56 did, I lived in it for like maybe two years and then I went to Denver, you know. So it's like I just haven't ever stayed somewhere so long. I've been here six years, wait six years. When was COVID? When was COVID? It started in 2019. 2019. I think that's when I moved in here, seven years. And I've accumulated a lot of shit. Yeah. And I need it gone. So if anybody wants to come over and just take shit out of my house that I don't need, feel free. Okay. Well, that seems dangerous. But I'm sorry that this is happening to you. It's awful. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Starting point is 00:06:31 I know. We recently had them bring a dumpster, like one of those big ones. Oh, yeah. To just, I was like, we're purging the fuck out of this place. All right? We got so much crap. We have so much luggage that no one's ever used. Same.
Starting point is 00:06:47 What are we saving this luggage for? I don't know. I think in like, in my mind, I'm like, luggage is expensive. It is? So I should keep it just in case. I know, but we've got... But like, just in case what? Yeah, I don't know what we're saving all this luggage for.
Starting point is 00:07:02 And it's just, you know what I did? I also took, there was all the manuals for like every appliance out. Because what are we doing? You think that I know how to fix any of the... If anything happens, someone's got to come over and do it, you know? Totally. So I just, I can never move out because I can't... It's rough.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Like, I didn't think I would. was a hoarder, but now I think I am. Yeah. I'm a closet hoarder. It's really bad. Yeah, I think girls just in general are hoarders. It's just because like you get gifted like makeup stuff. So much shit.
Starting point is 00:07:40 And you're like, like every event you go to, you're like, oh, here's like a lotion. And you're like, we can't get rid of this lotion. And I'm like, why? Why? Are you ever going to use the bathroom is full of samples of, of, yeah. I don't even know what to do with all this stuff. I just got to start throwing it away. Here's the thing is, like,
Starting point is 00:08:00 I always like the idea of donating shit like that. Yeah. But crazy enough, it's hard to donate things these days. Like, they won't, places won't take things that aren't like sealed or whatever. Like, it's not as easy to donate things as you would think. With products like that, they won't take anything. Yeah. So what I'm doing is I have, I went through my entire bathroom yesterday
Starting point is 00:08:23 and all of the unopened gifting that's been sitting in the rec room here. And I put it all in a huge box and I'm taking it to the barn where I keep my horses and I'm letting the girls have at it. It's going to be like Christmas. Nice. I like that. Yeah, because it's all nice shit, you know. I just, I only need so many creams. I don't know. And then I can only go through it so quickly and then it all expires and then nobody gets to use it.
Starting point is 00:08:45 So I'm like, I might as well just give it away. I agree. Got to get rid of the creams. We got too many creams. So many creams. So many creams. Starting point is 00:12:49 All right. But you're going to get through this. I mean, I did this to myself, but be sure. Listen, the only way out is through. Okay. God, I know. And it's going to be a miserable. Like Matt last night was, or no, maybe it was this morning.
Starting point is 00:13:00 It's, oh, guess what else I did this morning? What? See, I'm all over the place. Yeah. For the first time ever, I started the coffee machine without the caraf in the coffee machine. Oh, so it just poured out. Everywhere. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:14 So that's where my brain's at. This morning, Matt, was like it's going to be a tough week. Let's just remember that we're not each other's enemy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's going to be that kind of week. Yeah. Who's the real enemy here? It's Painter's tape and... Yes. Iran? I don't know. I don't know either. But it's not Matt. And I have to remind myself that. It's not Matt. He's trying to help. You guys just made a bad life decision by leaving that house. That was awesome. It just got back from a 10-day trip. Let me tell you something guys. Your boy has a five-day max, okay? I can't be doing 10 days anywhere. We went to the
Starting point is 00:13:51 Maldives, which was for a honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful. We were there for like seven days. I was like, I'm good now. After four days, I'm like, we got to get home, all right? I need my routine. I need to be able to go on my runs. I need to sit in my sauna. I need to eat my healthy food. I can't be every, because when you're out amongst the world and you're not like cooking for yourself, there's nothing to do but go to the. restaurant. And then when you get to the restaurant, someone's like, oh, a martini might be nice, even though you shouldn't be having the martini, you know, but you're like, yeah, I'm here. Why don't get into it, right? I can't do that, all right? Your boy can't do, I can't do long
Starting point is 00:14:30 vacations. And you know how, but here's the thing, I am old, okay? We've, we've established this. And listen, I will party with you up until a point. And then I don't care about anyone's feelings. I'm leaving. All right. So on the last. night. We finished this big golf tournament. I'm out with Joey Graz a day. My buddy, Sean Malto. And so we're at the bar after the thing. It's like 10 o'clock at night. Okay. I've had a martini, an espresso martini to try to keep myself awake. And then I had like two small beers. And I was like, guys, I'm going to bed. We have to get up at six o'clock in the morning to drive to Boston. And they're like, don't you do it. Don't be a bitch. You know, like all this.
Starting point is 00:15:10 I hate when people do that. Yeah. And I was like, I don't. I was like, guys. And they're like, you're so, you know, like, you're not a good friend. And I'm like, at some point I stopped caring about my friendship. I go back to the room. I order Taco Bell because that's always the savior, you know? Wow. A throwback. And then I wake up at 6 a.m.
Starting point is 00:15:28 I pack up. I've got everything ready. Now, the night before, I was the one who had driven from Boston to Portland. So we had made an agreement, Joey and I, that he would drive back. Okay? So I went to bed. being like still going to be early morning long travel day i get up i go pack the car i get everything ready 7 04 comes around i text i'm like bro are you okay where are you we got to go i don't want
Starting point is 00:15:55 miss my flight he comes out he's like wells you have to drive i can't do this and i was like you know you guys all talk shit about me last night and you you made fun of me and you and think about if i hadn't done it what would happen because i don't know if i could drive okay yeah and you're just Fucked. Yeah. And then we're just stuck in Portland. Anyways, we had a lovely time in Portland.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Portland, Maine. Pretty great, dude. I got to go there. I haven't been to Maine at all. So good. It's like this little college town. So it's got a young, vibrant vibe.
Starting point is 00:16:25 It's right on the water. So like there's all these like lobster roll places just right on the water. The food's really good. Everyone's very sweet. Everyone, what I like about a Maynards, mainlanders, Moners?
Starting point is 00:16:38 I think they're Mainers. What I like about Mainers is they're very proud of. their state. They really, and they, as it should be, it's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. In the wintertime, maybe not so much. But, but we had an amazing time. But I did want to say, you know, I give, I give chat GPT and that asshole with the British voice a lot of crap. But you know what? There are some things that chat GPT really help with. Okay? Okay. I had to get the Airbnb for the time we were in Boston. So it was like a three-night stay. Now, Joey and I were staying the entire time. Then Sean was coming in just for the last night. And I was like, I don't know how to do
Starting point is 00:17:15 the math of like who owes what and where, you know. So I just took the receipt. I put it in a chat GPT and I said, hey, can you figure this out for me, bud? All right? Two guys stayed the entire time. One guy stayed just one night. So I want to make this fair. Bing, bang, boom. That's what we need the robots for. Okay? Seriously. I don't need you to be writing songs for me. I don't need you to be writing television shows for me. I need you to be doing simple math. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I've been using chat, GBT, with the painting, because I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:47 So, like, I'll send it photos. Like, I had to do primer first, which was a nightmare. And I sent it photos, and I was like, is this enough primer? Do I need another coat? Am I doing this correctly? And it helped me a lot. Yeah. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:17:59 I believe it. Yeah. Well, all right. Got to go to Maine. Got to go to Maine. Got to go to Boston. Got to go to the Cape. Got to go to Hamptons.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Got to all these places, but not for longer than four days. Five days is my man. but that's also two days of travel, right? So that's one day. But I will, I will get up early both of those days. Oh, see, I will not. I will. I will travel early because I like to get home
Starting point is 00:18:23 and I like it to get settled and everything. I like to get home and go straight to sleep. Oh, you do? Yes. No, I like to be the first flight out because then it ensures me generally that I'm going to get home. That is true.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Yeah. But I will be, okay, maybe I'll be the first one out. And then I can be later coming. back. I'm okay with that. But yeah, I got a three-day max. Your boy's got a three-day max. Miley and I joke, like, but it's not a joke. It's the truth. But every time we go to Hawaii and we love it there. Yeah. She starts packing her bags after four days, even if the trip's seven or eight. Like, she's like, my bags are packed. I'm ready to go. We have three more days of the trip. She's like, I know, but I'm just, I want to be ready because I'm just, I'm ready to go. It's like,
Starting point is 00:19:07 how do we not learn our lesson? Why do we keep booking these eight-day trips? Yeah. I got. Guys, let's stop doing it. Let's stop being over ambitious. Yeah. Because, like, dude, the wells that agrees to plans is hated by the wells that has to go to the plans. I was, like, constantly working through the trip, right? So, like, the first part of the trip was, like, this thing with Lexus. And then the second part of the trip was this thing with my golf channel show.
Starting point is 00:19:30 And then the third part of the trip, I had a bunch of meetings. And then I also had to, like, edit and record these shows. And then the fourth part of the trip had, like, a big pitch meeting. and then we had to go play the thing. And everyone was like, you are working too. This is like a, we're on a vacation. This is too much. And I was like, I've spread myself too thin, like not enough butter on a big piece of toast.
Starting point is 00:19:54 And I need to learn to say, no, that's not for me. Just not for me, guys. Yeah. I just think maybe I'd make a rule of like, they're like, hey, we're going to Napa for a week. And I'm going to say, I have a personality clause. that only allows me to do a three-day trip. So I can agree to that, but then I will be leaving early. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Anyways. You want to start the show? Yeah, we should. You're me. I think it's me. Go for it. Bros and hoes. You're listening to your favorite thing podcast, Whales?
Starting point is 00:20:29 Well, speaking of trips, I just got back from one. Well, not just a few days ago. Yeah. Oh, it's Jackson Hole. Oh, that's right. It's the greatest place on earth. Were you there for too many days, though? No, it was perfect.
Starting point is 00:20:44 What was it? Three nights? See? Three nights. That's the sweet spot. The perfect amount. Two full days, three nights. I mean, Jackson is the one place where I probably could have stayed longer, but I was ready to sleep in my own bed.
Starting point is 00:20:58 I just like, I'm at that point. I've been at this point. I just don't sleep well unless I'm in my own bed. It doesn't matter what kind of hotel it is. It doesn't matter how good the mattress is. It doesn't matter any of it. If it's not my fucking bed, I'm not sleeping great. You know?
Starting point is 00:21:14 Matt, snoring didn't help because he partied too hard, but we'll just leave that. We had such a great trip. So I went on, I think I told you guys a little bit last week, but I went on this trip with riding safari club. So if there are any horse girls listening, you got to check them out. They do these really cool trips all over the world in different places. Africa. They do tons of places in Europe, I think Canada.
Starting point is 00:21:37 And then they were testing this one in just. Jackson Hole. And I loved it. I, but I was the only, well, I guess there's one other girl, but she left early, but like the only American in the group, which was so fun. It was like a bunch of Italians, Matt's Australian. There was, I think a girl from Russia. Like, it was cool. It was people from all over coming to do this ride. And we had the best time we stayed at Caldera House, which is in like the ski village area. Have you ever been to that part of Jackson? No. I hadn't either. Because I'm not really a big skier. But I always stay like either into. town or it's somewhere like more remote. But yeah, it was like kind of at the base of where
Starting point is 00:22:13 the ski lodges and everything. So it was really cool. Like right outside our window where the lifts. So if you were there to ski, that's like the sickest place to stay because you walk out your door and there's the lift, you know? Yeah. Although someone did tell me that Jackson's like one of the harder places to ski because it's so steep and technical, which I may I guess make sense because the Teton's are crazy. So I don't know that I'll be skiing there. But it was really cool. And then we spent a day riding with a group called J.H. Outfitters. I always like something that's so important to me when I go horseback riding is the condition the horses are in and like the environment the horses are living in, you know? Like I've definitely in my day like shown up to some rides in different places of the
Starting point is 00:22:54 world and either the horses look terrible or like the conditions they live in aren't good and I just fail. Like I don't like supporting that at all. These horses looked amazing. So you don't even, you'll be like, guys, I can't do this one. I'm going to leave and then you just leave before it happens. So yeah, I've done that before. So these horses looked amazing. They were all in such good condition, great horses. And then it was cool because the scenery for this ride was unfucking believable. Like you and Sarah have to go do this.
Starting point is 00:23:20 I mean, I've ridden all over the world. And the scenery, the views of the titans, like you climb this mountain. You're going like straight up this mountain with the teetons just right behind you. Like it was insane. It was so cool. And so you go all the way up to this area where you stop for a meal and they had, like a chef prepare lunch for us and everything and like a bartender and stuff, turn the horses out, turn them all loose, which was so cool. And they were like, yeah, the horses stay out all night now
Starting point is 00:23:46 until the next morning and then we come round them up. So these horses get to just fucking chill every night on these thousands of acres have the sick views of the Teton's like they're living large. Is this a ride that a beginner, a novice rider can do? Yeah, I think so. The cool thing about this come, like this outfitter was they, they had horses for all types. So like, if there was, we didn't have beginners on our trip. This was specifically a trip for intermediate advanced riders. But for beginners, like they have, they have you thought of form. And if you're a beginner, they'll, they'll note it and they'll put you on like a beginner horse. You know what I mean? Like one that's safe for a beginner. But then if you're advanced,
Starting point is 00:24:24 they have. What's the difference? Shouldn't they all be like safe horses? I mean, they are, but like, I don't want to be. I personally don't want to ride a super safe horse. That's boring to me. Like, I kind of like ones that are a little bit spicy. Oh, really? You know, it makes it more fun. Yeah. So, like, I don't want to be on one that I have to kick every step of the way, but someone that's a beginner that might not be comfortable with speed or with, like, that feeling of not being in control would hate that, you know?
Starting point is 00:24:47 So I think there's different horses for different levels of riders, which, and it takes someone very intuitive to be able to, like, pair people with riders, with horses like that, you know, but I thought they did a great job because even though we were all, like, intermediate to advanced, like a couple of the European girls had never ridden in Western tack, you know, and this was a Western trip. So it's like pairing people like, okay, well, you're a rider, but maybe haven't ridden this style before. So maybe give them a horse that's a bit more like beginner friendly. They just did a really great job.
Starting point is 00:25:14 What's it called again? Caldera. It's called J.H. Outfitters was the company that did the horse ride. And anyone can plan a trip with them. Like even though we did it through this riding safari club, like anybody could reach out to them and plan a ride. Definitely the best riding I've done in Wyoming so far. Sick. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Yeah, very cool. That's a good idea. actually. That might be a good birthday gift. Yeah, it really would. Yeah. It was awesome. Like sick views. And then they said they only do a certain number of rides where they do the lunch, like the prepared
Starting point is 00:25:47 lunch like they did for us. So worth it. Like especially if you and Sarah are going to celebrate something, I would plan it in advance and ask them for that because it was sick. Yeah. The food was amazing. All right. Yeah. I like it. Yeah. I'm into it. I've had a great time. Guys, I am the worst gift giver. I think
Starting point is 00:26:02 one of my problems is that I wait to have the last minute and then panic because I have no idea what to get someone. But I've discovered Zazzle and it has totally fixed this problem. Zazel is this custom marketplace where you can basically take any product and personalize it. So I'm talking like a mug, a tote bag, a phone case, a card so that you're not just buying a gift. You're making one and making it personal for someone. I think that's something that I dislike about gifts is when people just buy. gift card or just get another candle. I like when things are personalized. So Zazel makes this so easy to do. Everything's on demand. There's no out-of-stock situations. You just pick it, customize it, and it's done.
Starting point is 00:26:45 I recently bought one of my best friends, a couple of personalized dog bowls for her two dogs. They were so cute. It was so easy to do, and she was so pumped about the gift. So right now you can save 25% on your first order at Zazel.com. That's 25% savings on your first order. at zazzle.com. Go make something's amazing. Zazzle.com. All right, Brandi, you know that I turned our little pool house into a gym. Yeah, I've seen it. It's great. And so I've got like my treadmill in there. I've got my exercise bike and then I needed to get something to lift some weights. And so I got the tonal. Have you heard about the tonal? I have. I love the tonal because it's so chic. Dude, it's so cool. Tonal provides the convenience of a full gym and the guidance of a personal

And you guys right now, Tonal is offering our listeners, $200 off your tonal purchase with promo code YFT. That's tonal.com and use promo code YFT for $200 off your purchase. Tonal.com promo code YFT, $200 off. Do it. Speaking of traveling, the heaviest things in the universe, super massive black holes, your mama. And, Not mine.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Not yours. Not yours. That was just a your mama's joke. The heaviest things in the world. Supermass of black holes, okay? Okay. And hotel doors. What is happening with hotel door?
Starting point is 00:28:47 Why does it have to be the heaviest door in the history of doors? And then also, not only is it heavy, but it's got some sort of like hydraulic arm that makes it so it doesn't want you to be able to, be able to get in the hotel room with both bags. So then you're holding it up and you're like, okay, I can get it through. And then you're like, oh, fuck, I'll sleep it outside. Then you'll come back outside. Then you're opening it up again. But then you left your key inside.
Starting point is 00:29:12 What is going on? Can we have some sort of clip that holds it open or something? A clip would be smart. Oh, my God. It's the most embarrassing thing. If someone saw you trying to get into a hotel room with two bags, You know? Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:29:32 So I'm laughing because I do know. It's so embarrassing. And I have a theory that they are all just sitting in the security room watching Pete and being like, look at this fucking guy. He's got a golf bag with him and a roller bag. He's fucked. He's never going to get in there. Do we think the weight of the door has something to do with like soundproofing in the hotel or no? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:00 I was thinking, I was like, maybe it's for safety. You don't want to like. It is insane. It's, it's comical. It's like what,
Starting point is 00:30:07 who made this decision? And also, there is no other door that you, that you come across in life that is like this. No. You know?
Starting point is 00:30:17 Yeah. Anyways. Yeah. So that's, yeah, yeah. You got some favorite things, bro.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Oh, I thought you'd never ask. Okay, great. Wells. Yeah. The new season of House of the Dragon.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Oh, I haven't started it yet. Okay, this is good. Oh, my God. I think it's the best. I've watched the first two episodes that are out. I think it's some of the best episodes of the entire Game of Thrones series franchise. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:30:46 So fucking good. I'm not the only one saying this. It's all over the internet. Everyone's freaking the fuck out about how good these episodes are. Like the we waited so long for this new season. It was so worth the way. episode one opens with the insane battle at the gullet, which is like the battle on the water,
Starting point is 00:31:07 you know, I think it was like an hour and a half long, felt like a movie, so fucking good. Classic to Game of Thrones fashion. They're killing people off left and right. Like, it's incredible. I think I need to go back and watch each episode again because I loved it that much. And then episode two that I watched yesterday, Emma Darcy that plays Reneer, if she doesn't win a fucking award for her performance in episode two, then all is wrong in the world.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Like she is incredible. She does so much acting without speaking. It's all so emotional. It's so fucking good. I'm just, I'm so impressed. These are the best episodes of House of the Dragon so far. Wow.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Okay. I'm excited. Sarah doesn't want to watch it because she thinks that there's a lot of dragons dying and that's going to make her be sad. There's a lot of dying period. Yeah, just everyone's dying. Everyone's dying. I had to explain that...
Starting point is 00:32:00 That's what they do. I know. I was like, but the dragons aren't real, you know? Like, these are... None of it's real. You know, the dragons, I guess because they look faker, the thing that gets me is when the horses die. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Well, that's why we can't watch any Taylor Sheridan thing because I feel like he just kills horses just for like chits and gigs. Yeah, it's rough. Like, that's hard for me to watch. But the, I mean, the dragons, it is sad for sure. But it, like, it looks just fake enough that at least like I don't lose sleep over it, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, it's so fucking good though.
Starting point is 00:32:30 You have to start it. Okay. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, maybe I'll just do that by myself, but. I think Sarah would really like it, minus the dying.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Okay. The death. Okay. Let me just like, kind of rip through some things that we finished. Okay. I've been talking about this show in MGM Plus, which no one has.
Starting point is 00:32:46 So like no one watches this show, but it's called From and I absolutely love it. And it's from the makers of lost. And I'm just telling you you guys should go watch it since season four just ended. Watch the end of it. Excited because it means season five is kind of. I wanted a few more answers, but that's okay, because still fun. Widows Bay.
Starting point is 00:33:03 You just said some crazy stuff about like the greatest where came of throne stuff ever. I don't know if they made a show that good in five years. Like, Widows Bay. Widows Bay? I think it's so brilliant. It's funny and scary. And like the physical comedy is amazing and the writing is really good. And that Matthew Rise guy is so fantastic.
Starting point is 00:33:28 as a reluctant hero and you not finished it. We got to put a pause on it for a minute because Matt and I were watching it together and then we went our separate ways a couple times. And we haven't picked it back up. But honestly, like, I wasn't hooked on it. Oh, it's so freaking good. And the last episode. Yeah, you got to finish.
Starting point is 00:33:49 The last episode's fantastic. And the same thing. It ends with like, wait. Okay. Well, season two now. I got it, you know, like, this is going to keep going. I kind of thought it was just going to be limited series, but no, I think this is going to be a thing. And a fun twist at the end I enjoyed.
Starting point is 00:34:10 I kind of, Sarah kind of called it, and I kind of agreed with her when she called it. Then there's kind of like a secondary twist that's very fun. Anyways, I just, Widows Bay. Okay. Fantastic 10 out of 10 would recommend. Got to pick it back up. Yeah. One that I don't think I like.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Oh. But I watched a lot of it on the plane yesterday. Okay. I will find you. The Sam Worthington show? Yeah. Wells, it's so fucking good. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:34:37 It's got to be some of the worst writing I've ever seen on it. Well, it's that Harlan Coben guy. Like, we know he's not the best writer. It's just, like, cheesy. Because, like, it's, what's annoying is, is that the cast is amazing. Like, like, she McBride, who's been in, like, everything. Like, I know he's a better actor. than this, but they're giving him lines where you're just like, come on, dude.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Sam Worthington's pretty good. His Boston accent could use a little bit of work. He is Australian. Yeah. And then the same with like the writing, like, Britt Lauer, who I absolutely love in Severance, I feel like, and like, it's not, I know you're a good actor because I've seen how good you are in Severance, but like watching this, I'm like, it's just, it's just the, it's just bad writing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:25 It's funny. I didn't watch Severance, so I wasn't familiar with her. Yeah. But so when I first started it, the first episode or two, I actually was like, oh, I love the cast except her. Because I was like, I don't think she's very good. But I, but you're obviously, you're right. It's not her. It's the writing.
Starting point is 00:35:42 And I, and I liked her more as it went on. But I do, you're right. Like, they didn't have a lot to work with. But like me knowing what Harlan Cobin does, like, I've never been a huge fan of the, of his books or the adaptations they make. So like, going into it, I was like, I don't know what's going to be very good, but I love all these actors, but I love it all these actors, but I don't watch it anyway.
Starting point is 00:36:00 But it's funny because, like, Jason Tartick, I saw him, Jason Tardick post and said it was like the greatest show he'd ever seen. Like, some people really love it. And then there's other people like, then I saw Beckettilly post about it and say, like, this show seems like it's written by AI and not in a good way, but I really loved it.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Like the consensus is like, the writing's not good, but I loved it, you know? Yeah, I do feel like Netflix has just kind of like, I don't know, given up on like making like really really quality stuff and they're just like pumping out stuff. It's like pumping out titles. Like meo, uh, Milo Ventimilio, whatever.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah. His part, I'm like, what? Like, give this. How many episodes in are you? I think three, three or four. Okay. Stick with it because he, the first couple episodes, few episodes, like you don't see, like he doesn't have much of a role.
Starting point is 00:36:49 And then it obviously because he's who he is like into the story. Yeah. He's probably got something to do with it because he's a big name. But I just didn't love. Which I kind of hate that they do that. Yeah. I know. I feel like that's been, I've watched a few shows lately where I'm like, it kind of gives
Starting point is 00:37:03 a way where this is going because of who you cast. Yeah. I hate that. All right. Well, I just ruined it for everyone. I'm sorry. I didn't know that. But, um, I mean, not really.
Starting point is 00:37:13 You're just saying. Anyways, just so you know. He's an important role. The kid is alive, right? I mean, I think so. Yeah. There's the last episode I saw. It's like him on the beach throwing rocks.
Starting point is 00:37:24 and whoever's like, come on, time to come in. Yeah, but like, is it him or does it just look like him? Yeah, who knows, man, who knows? Anyways, I'm going to finish it. You should. It's good. I don't hate it. This don't love it. Okay, I loved it.
Starting point is 00:37:38 That's good. Yeah. You know, I do that Traders podcast, right? And so when Traders isn't going, I do, I just like watch other shows, like, reality shows, and then we have to commentate on it. Oh, so the podcast goes on even the Traders is an airing? Yeah. And so we are now watching a show called Million Dollar Nannies on Hulu.
Starting point is 00:38:03 What? And I got to say. Didn't even know that existed. Oh, yeah. Okay. So let me just set the table for you. Okay. It stars this one chick.
Starting point is 00:38:14 She is a nanny for the stars. She has nannied for athletes, actors, and the Kardashians. So she decides I'm going to start. start this nanny agency. And we're going to go to Abiza. And we are going to nanny for the richest families this summer. So she compiles this rag tag team of just go get her nannies and manis. That's when a man is a nanny.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Yep. And they go to Abiza. And, you know, they get there and she like lays out all these rules. she's like, there's no drinking, there's no cussing in front of the kids and, you know, covering my tattoos, all this stuff. You're like, okay. And that checks out, right? Then they're like, let's go out.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Let's go out and get some drinks and get some dinner. The main girl gets absolutely blackout drunk. Like, she's like running around with like a cone on her. The girl that made all the rules? Yes. And everyone's like, this is the boss? She gets absolutely hammer time. And they're just filming the entire thing, right?
Starting point is 00:39:21 Yeah. So the first, she's like, I've got so many connections. I'm going to get you guys all jobs. The first big jobs with this family, the G's, which are like, I don't know. I don't even know if any of these people are real people. Like I feel like this could just be casted. The first family, she's like, they needed two nannies. So she's like, well, I'm going to take one of these jobs. And all the other nannies are like, I thought you were like so connected. Why are you getting to have the first job? Because then what they do is they have to decide they have to hire them. So like there are these two games. guys. No, sorry. So, okay, let me just stick with the first part. So you have this family that needs two nannies. Okay, so they go. And so they hire the main girl, okay, who gets absolutely blackout drunk. And then they hire the prettiest girl there, even though like, they're like, you need to
Starting point is 00:40:08 cover up. They give her like an extra large outfit. And she's like, this is not going to fit. And they're like, you're too pretty. You have to not. They make her change her nail color. Like, they hate that she's showing cleavage and it's like, this is ridiculous because they're worried that the husband's going to fuck her, right? Totally. I get it. Yeah. So like the next night they all go out, they're like drinking by the pool, you know,
Starting point is 00:40:32 after like their first day of work and whatnot. And the girl gets wasted again, okay? And then she tells one of the other girls in the, in the bedroom, because they all sleep in like bunk beds or whatever, like, you know, double beds. That she was like, yeah, I fucked a, I fucked a dad. Once, wait, hold on. So then, so then one girl finds out, right? And she's like, listen, there's like really only one rule and nannying.
Starting point is 00:40:58 And it's like, don't fuck the dad, right? Seriously. No fucking of the dad. But it's so funny because this family that just hired her does, is concerned about the pretty one fucking the dad. So they're letting the, the lush lead girl be with the dad the entire time. So that's fun. then there are these two, no, three gay guys all living together,
Starting point is 00:41:25 but they're not polyamorous. One was married to another one. One was like kind of younger, married to an older one. They had a kid with like their surrogate. And then they got divorced. And then the younger guy married another guy, which by the way, they look exactly the same. I need you to look up.
Starting point is 00:41:44 I'm pretty sure they're brothers. I'm not sure. Nope. I'm pretty sure. But they have so much like Botox and stuff in their face that like maybe they've just like decided to look like gone for the same look. I mean one's got like long blonde hair. Oh yeah. They're all like jacked. They are all jacked.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Yeah. Anyways, they actually seem pretty lovely, but there's like very interesting, you know, family and they've got like these like a boy and a girl. And anyways, that's kind of fun. And then like a girl gets fired because she thinks her boyfriend. So jacked. Do tell me you don't think they look almost identical. One of them is 71? That's the old one.
Starting point is 00:42:23 That's the old one. Interesting. Maybe not actually. I don't know. I don't know either. That's crazy. Anyways, all that to be said. Great show.
Starting point is 00:42:33 It is the messiest shit I have ever. This is wild. This is a television show. Okay. So here's the thing. It's Hulu, right? And it's like it's brought to you by the way. the same people that brought you the Mormon wife show.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Right. And I got to say it. I want to be like, hey, ABC, Disney, we got to stop hiring the lead of these shows that are like so problematic. Yeah. Like maybe not the girl who's fucked the dads be like the, maybe she's just like one of the hirees, you know? The dads. Anyway, so if you want some like real filth or like this might be a mildy situation. It sounds like it.
Starting point is 00:43:13 It is just. This cannot. what my job is going to be. I'm going to text her and ask her if she's seen. Speaking of Trash TV, what's the deal with Bachelor? Is it coming back? Is Bachelor airing? Like, what is the fucking T?
Starting point is 00:43:26 I don't know. I think... Obviously, there's no paradise. No paradise this year. Clearly. Or you'd be there, right? Yeah, we would have... I'd be probably done with it now.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Yeah. We couldn't do Paradise because there's no cast to do it with, I guess, you know? I have no idea what's going on. I'm kind of trying to stay out of it. It seems like it's gotten a little over the skis, and I don't know if I just, like, want to be talking about it a whole lot, but this is what I think's going to happen. I think that they are going to bear Taylor Frankie Paul's season,
Starting point is 00:43:59 but on Hulu. I think they're going to wait for, like, maybe the stuff to die down, even though I just saw that, like, that guy called the cops on her again. Just like, geez, Louise, lady, stop getting the cops called on you. But I think they're going to air it. so people can see who these guys are. And then I do believe that they are about to or maybe, yeah, I think they're about to start filming The Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:44:22 No, no, the Bachelor. And so then they say that next year, then they'll have a cast big enough to come and do Paradise. But I don't know. Okay, interesting. I do think that like Golden Bachelor, I think that's kind of run its course. Yeah, I didn't love it.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Yeah. Didn't love it. We shall see. I did, well, I know I talked about it last week, but I did watch voicemails for Isabel. So cute. So good. Loved it. God, that sounds like a Nicholas Sparks book.
Starting point is 00:44:52 Yeah. Yeah. It's, you know, it's the modern you've got male. That one. Oh, it is? They even, like, say that in this movie, which is fucking hilarious. But yeah, it was cute. Worth a watch.
Starting point is 00:45:02 If you're a girl and you like love, I'd watch it. Okay. Very cute. I like that. Yeah. Zoid Doit. How do you say her last name? Zoid Doig.
Starting point is 00:45:12 She's. great in it. Is you? Yeah. Did I watch anything else? You know, silos is about to drop this week, I think.
Starting point is 00:45:18 I can't fucking wait. Matt hasn't seen it, but you know what? Too fucking bad. We're watching it anyway. Have them catch up. I don't know if there's time. It comes on in like a few days.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Yeah. Listen, he also, he hasn't seen House of the Dragon. So he's starting, he started season one of House of the Dragon. So I have to watch it without him because I'm not waiting.
Starting point is 00:45:37 Yeah. It's one of those shows that like if I don't watch it when it airs, It'll spoil. Instagram will spoil it. Like, my algorithm's just full of spoilers for it. So if I don't watch it, you know, right on Sunday or Monday, like, it'll be ruined.
Starting point is 00:45:52 We got some DMs from the YFTers. Sick. Love that. From Holly. This is for Wells. My husband is traveling to L.A. And Boston next week wants to play golf. Any horses you recommend.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Okay. Los Angeles, if he can get on to Riviera, or to Bel Air or to LACC, I would suggest those ones. But those are private, so that might be harder to do. But maybe he's got connections, I don't know. But of all those, I would say Riviere is the best club. In Boston, I don't know a whole lot about Boston other than I just was there and played, and I played two places that are private.
Starting point is 00:46:32 But if you can get on to them, you absolutely should. And one's called Catanzit. And the other one is called the Country Club at Brookline. If you're in L.A. and don't know where, like, don't have any connections. The Trump course is actually really good. It's just really expensive. So that one and then, but the one that I would say is kind of like always regarded as the best muni in Southern California's Rustic Canyon. I would really try to play that course.
Starting point is 00:46:57 It's also a course called Moore Park, which is really good. So anyways, that's what I got for you there. Rex, Sue says guys, Netflix, Untamed, Must Watch. So good. This sounds familiar. It does. Yeah, we talked about this. Eric Banna. Oh, yeah. Are they coming out with season two or no? I don't know. Well, Sue, we talked about that. Brandy really liked it.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Loved it. Yeah. Leanderas says Wells, you were going to talk Survivor. I've watched every episode and then you didn't. I love it. And I love to hear your thoughts. Well, that's because I talked about Survivor on the podcast where I had to talk about these other shows. Reality shows. Yeah. So go listen to my recap on that. We did the entire. season with guests from the show. That's called By Order of the Faithfuls. That was the Survivor Edition. Laura L. says jury duty has come out with the second season company retreat. I have seen that this looks funny, but I haven't seen it yet. Same. I may have watched the first episode, but I haven't dove in. Dove in? Dived in. Dived in. Dived in. Diven. You haven't divinen.
Starting point is 00:48:04 The older I get, the more I lose the education I worked so hard. Yeah, I don't think, I don't think good no more. Alyssa says would love to hear your thoughts on Devil Wars Prada 2. If either of you've seen it, I thought it was so well done, but have seen conflicting opinions online. Oh, I didn't know it was out. I think it's in theaters. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Okay. Once it comes out on Prime, I'll watch it. Yeah. Alyssa, you're going to have to wait for Brandy to see that because that's not going to be some. I don't think that's one that's worth going to the theater for, unfortunately. No. Oh, no. And Robin says,
Starting point is 00:48:39 oh my God, you have to recommend the Apple TV movie Finch. You have to watch this movie. It's freaking unbelievable. It has everything. Finch?
Starting point is 00:48:49 I've never heard of that. Miley has not seen million-dollar nannies. Oh, this is the Tom Hanks thing. Oh, she hasn't? No. I'll have to get on that.
Starting point is 00:48:58 Yeah. Okay. I do want to see this. Okay. On a post-apocalyptic earth. I already love this way it starts. All right? You give me
Starting point is 00:49:07 Like, post-apocalyptic. If you say the words post-apocalyptic or like in space, I'm like, yep, this is for Wells. Okay. On a post-apocalyptic earth, a robot built to protect the life of his creator and beloved dog learns about life, love, friendship, and what it means to be human. Finch on Apple TV Plus starring Tom Hanks. Caleb Landry Jones and Marie Wagman. Yeah, I'm going to watch this tonight maybe. Oh.
Starting point is 00:49:43 I have seen clips of it on like TikTok and I'm like, yep, this is, this looks pretty good. Okay. That sounds good too. I would like that. Yeah. All right. That's all? And that's all we got.
Starting point is 00:49:55 Oh. Well, okay. What are you doing for the fourth? Um, I'm going to the country club. We have a big fireworks celebration there. It's actually the best fireworks show in Los Angeles. So much so that Universal Studios just pretends that it's theirs. Oh.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Because we're right below Universal Studios. So yeah, I'm doing that, but I got to host a bunch of people. So it's going to be expensive one. What are you doing for the fourth? When you say you're hosting people, you have to pay for each person that you invite or something? Yeah. I mean, I'll be like, you owe me X number of dollars. I am working on the fourth.
Starting point is 00:50:30 That could be fun, though. Yeah, yeah, it will be. I like to work on holidays sometimes. I know that sounds weird, but holidays sometimes for me, like especially to Year's Eve is a good one. Holidays are so like overhyped and there's so much like, what's the word where there's like all this like build up and then it's like really disappointing? There's a word for that. I'm telling you my brain fog. My brain fog is just bad.
Starting point is 00:50:59 But yeah, like holiday, I don't know. Like sometimes on holidays, I'm like, I don't know. I'm kind of disappointed. I'd rather just be making money. So I like to work on holidays. I only have to work. And this one's local. It's in Nashville.
Starting point is 00:51:08 So I really only have to work at night. And during the day, I can hang by the pool, which was what everybody else is going to be doing on July the 4th. Underwhelming? Underwhelming. Yeah. Lackluster? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:21 What was it? It was something you think is going to be really good? I don't know. When something's like really like overhyped and then it's disappointing. We're old and dumb. But yeah. So I'm DJing in Nashville at the one hotel. my old stomping grounds at Harriet's rooftop from 9 to 11.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I know you think that the country club has a great fireworks show, but Nashville actually has the biggest fireworks show in the country. So if you want to see the best fireworks, come on down to Nashville and let's party. Underwhelming, overrated, overrated, performative, and tedious. Overrated kind of works, I guess. Yeah, overrated. Yeah. So that's what I'm doing. And I'll probably be exhausted by Saturday because I'm moving
Starting point is 00:52:11 the next three days. But hopefully I'm going to like try to chill hopefully on Friday beforehand so that I have energy on Saturday. But it should be fun. I love playing at Harriet. It's always a good time. I got a bunch of friends coming out. That's the beauty of being local. And then next week I'm coming to L.A. So maybe see you soon. Oh, really? Yeah. Nice. Yeah. Sarah's going to France with her girlfriends. That would be nice. Oh, yeah. You were going to maybe crash that or something? I might go to England for the open. Okay. And so I thought, well, you know, it's a hop, skip, and a jump over the old narrow sea.
Starting point is 00:52:49 I don't know what that sea is called, but you know what I'm talking about. Yeah. And so I thought maybe she'd come join me. Oh, we'll see. That's up in the air. But, yeah. All right. All right. Well, I don't want this podcast to end because If it's over, I have to open and paint. I know. Sorry. Sucks, dude. Sucks to be you. And those things were like, I can't even ask friends to help because I wouldn't want them to ask me to help because it's so terrible. Yeah. You know, I just can't even put someone in that position. Well, you can. All by myself.
Starting point is 00:53:29 You can, you can ask people to help you, but then give them money. for doing it. But then I might as well just hire professional. That's kind of what I was getting at. I think I'm being very stubborn about
Starting point is 00:53:40 at the moment. But let's see. Let's see how we fare today. Good luck. YFTers. DM us some more of your stuff at YFT podcast on Instagram. We've been throwing those
Starting point is 00:53:49 into a note section so we're able to read them. And then yeah, we still have the voicemail thing going on. If you want to call us up, 858-630, 1856 is the number. Mm-hmm. If you guys have any painting tips,
Starting point is 00:54:02 you could throw my way. Specifically, the challenge I'm facing right now is that I get paint all over myself because it splatters when I'm rolling and I'm covered in paint. And I was like, oh, I'll just wear long sleeves, pants, all the things, but it's 100 degrees outside
Starting point is 00:54:18 and our air conditioning isn't turned on yet, so I can't do that. So if you know how I can not splatter paint everywhere, please let me know. Are you painting the new house or the old house? The new one. The old one's going to be done by professionals.
Starting point is 00:54:33 Correct. Got it, got it, got. Because I ain't paying for that. Nah. Well, good luck. Thank you. Everyone out there, have an amazing and happy Fourth of July. Be safe.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Remember, light fuse, get away. Okay? I hate fireworks. What are you? Communist? No, but animals just really don't like that. That's true. They don't.
Starting point is 00:54:56 They don't like it. A lot of birds die. No, they don't. Yes, look it up. That's no way that's true Look it up They die I feel like it's from like a fucking heart attack
Starting point is 00:55:05 From the sound Oh Okay It's so sad Two of my dogs are terrified of them It's not great for my horses Yes Fireworks can kill birds
Starting point is 00:55:16 Sudden loud explosions at night Cause birds to panic And flee their roost Disoriented in the dark They frequently clash In a buildings or wires Abandoned their nest I fucking told you
Starting point is 00:55:25 Didn't know that It's so sad I really I really dislike them Yeah but what happens when there's a lightning storm? It's different. Is it? Yeah, fireworks are way different.
Starting point is 00:55:39 Also, all that freaking like smoke in the air and the pollution. Ah, we didn't even touch on. You know, like, so much of the Western U.S. is on fire right now. Well, no. That's hope that's not true. It's insane. Look it up.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Really? Yeah, it's sad. A lot of wildfires happening. Well, it's hot out there. And apparently it's like the hottest it's ever been in. France and a bunch of people are dying out there because they don't put air conditionings in those places. What are we doing, guys?
Starting point is 00:56:11 I don't know. We had the technology. Yeah. These old French people die. We're really ending this episode on a low note. Yeah. Bird death. Fire.
Starting point is 00:56:24 People death, fires. Happy Fourth of July. We love you. America. Fuck you.
