Episode Date: September 16, 2026

Rise and shine, YFTers! Your favorite hosts are f*cking tired and recording at 6am just for you. It's a shorter one this week, but they still bring the goods... A documentary about the Olympi...cs' most-mocked breakdancer, a new Greek comedian's Netflix special, and a murder comedy about a married couple that hits a little too close to Brandi's own moving chaos. She survived the move itself, but now has no working stove, no working toilet upstairs, and a shower with no doors. Surviving, not thriving. And per usual, Wells is racing out to catch a flight to Monterey for a charity golf event (Golf Party), fresh off his haunted-hotel trip to Alabama. Ahhh, never a dull moment.FAVORITE THINGS:Silo (Apple TV+)Sterling Point (Amazon Prime)Ray Gun Breaking Badly (Netflix)Stavros: Uncle Stav (Netflix)Traitors: New Blood (NBC)Signal One (Hulu)Dark Matter (Apple TV)Over Your Dead Body (AMC+)Thanks for tuning in, YFTers. Starting point is 00:00:00 This podcast is brought to you by Podcast Nation. I'm fucking tired. How are you doing? I'm fucking tired. I was going to say, it's six in the morning. Are you insane? Yeah, I got a flight. I'm eating breakfast.
Starting point is 00:00:15 Sorry, not sorry. You've got a new background. I'm in my new house. Oh, you are? That's a big range you got back there. Oh, no, it's not nice. Very nice. I can't cook on it yet because Matt left me with no gas soaked up.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Oh, really? Yeah. What works in the house? I mean, Everything works except the gas. We have one toilet in the downstairs guest room. So I have to, every morning I have to go all the way downstairs to pee. Okay.
Starting point is 00:00:42 That doesn't sound ideal. I have one shower that works. It has no doors on either the shower or the bathroom. Hot. And it's the only thing that works in that bathroom. No sink, no toilet. That's where I shower. And then, yeah, like everything works.
Starting point is 00:00:59 It's just, guys, I know, like, saying it, but like, I just severely underestimated the massiveness of moving. When the last time you moved? 2019. 20, 20. Okay. So that was about the time I moved. I moved into the last house I was in.
Starting point is 00:01:15 I mean, I've been in that. I was in the house for a long fucking time. I went from apartments to teeny tiny, like less than a thousand square foot rental house. Then I went to the house I bought, which was also small, you know? And then I went to Denver and lived in a studio apartment. and then moved into what I call High Point, which is like the last house I lived in.
Starting point is 00:01:34 The amount of shit that I have accumulated and hoarded and stuffed into closets at this fucking house is insane. I had to call like a junk removalist to come because after four days of packing up and moving out, there was still so much shit. And I just had to go. Like it was garbage or goodwill. And so I literally had to call junk removalists to come
Starting point is 00:01:58 and I had a Goodwill pile and I had a junk, a trash pile, and they had to take everything away. It was so overwhelming. Jeez, you're a hoarder. I am like a secret hoarder because it doesn't, you don't see it. But any nook and cranny that I can shove like clothes or, you know, PR gifting or mail or just whatever, extra cords. I had a whole, whole box of cables that I've never used ever. I don't think I've ever opened the box except to shove more cables into it. I've never gone in there.
Starting point is 00:02:26 I've been like, oh, I need that cable. So all those went to the junk place. Speaking of you showering without a door on the shower or a door on the bathroom, is it just me or do I feel like every year hotels remove more and more of the shower doors? Yes. And I think like Europeans maybe don't put shower doors on as much as we do. Yeah, like the entire bathroom just has a drain in it and they're just like fine with that. It's called a wet room.
Starting point is 00:02:57 gross so this is what matt has in australia and it was like a serious problem when we first started dating and i went there he doesn't have doors on any of it they're all wet rooms so the whole bathroom is just one big fucking shower water gets everywhere it's cold this shower doesn't steam up the way that i like it is not it and it was like i complained so much when i visited him the first time and at this house like he fought me on it he was like do we need glass doors i was like are you fucking for real. Yes, we need glass doors. It's always so cold. So cold and it's just so messy.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Yeah. I agree. I don't know what's going on. I don't know why anyone's agreed to this. I think hotels are being cheap because you know what? Glass stores are expensive. That's probably true. I got in last night. I'm having your favorite breakfast. You're having some milk products. Oatmeal. You're like a bigger orphan from like the 1800s.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Please, I may have some more oats and way. Can I have some cream of wheat Basically I do have a colostrum in here Can I have some colostrum in for my bones Because I'm a fragile orphan child Essentially yes I have no doors on the bathroom
Starting point is 00:04:10 Please help me sir Can I have some cream of wheat I'm essentially house poor From this moment on Oh my God I am The house isn't finished Because we ran out of money
Starting point is 00:04:22 We've got three fireplace in this house, which I'm so obsessed with, but one of them's brick, which is, you know, original to the house or whatever. And the other two were like painted plaster. They were so ugly. And they were blue. So we stripped them down. We want to stone them, like make stone fireplaces.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I don't have the money for that anymore. When did you guys run out of money? Like two weeks ago. That's not good. And how much more do you got? When I say run out of money, I mean, like, I had money set aside in an account that was for the house renovation. I'm like, this is how much I'm comfortable spending.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Yeah. To renovate this house and we blew through it. Yeah, yeah. Just me double whatever that number was. Oh yeah. I already spent more than I wanted to. So now I'm like, now I'm like telling myself and everyone and Matt were out of money because that's the only way it's going to stop.
Starting point is 00:05:11 I think it's smart. I have to draw the line somewhere. Yeah. You can't draw the line at bankruptcy. No. You know, that's unacceptable. Also, we still have to pay this insane mortgage. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And I bet you got to. a bad interest rate. Wasn't great because the last house I bought in 2016, my interest rate was like 3%. I know. I think my Nashville house, I think I refied to it. Like, whatever, this is boring conversation. But yeah, interest rates are crazy. Right now it's not the time to buy a house.
Starting point is 00:05:40 It's also not the time to sell a house. I had to buy, unfortunately. But I'll just refinance, you know. People are saying rates aren't coming down. I don't know. The country is in shambles right now, all right? It really is. Absolute scambles.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Gas is so expensive. Diesel, which is less refined, is more expensive. To make that make sense to me. It has to do less stuff. Yeah. I think. I don't know. I don't know that actually.
Starting point is 00:06:06 I don't know anything about diesel. And then, oh yeah, like all the guys from the AI world are like, so the AI broke out of its cage and started hacking shit. Of course it did. Hugging face hack or something. We've all seen. this movie. It's amazing.
Starting point is 00:06:26 No one, like the government should be like, hold on, guys. But everyone's like, well, if China gets set first, then it's like,
Starting point is 00:06:33 well, hold on, hold on. Yes, we should be worried about China's AI, but we don't want ours to also set off bombs. You know?
Starting point is 00:06:43 No. Yeah, I think it's going to be the end of the world. I think it's a good chance of it. I wish we could just go live in space. I do.
Starting point is 00:06:48 When are the aliens coming? My algorithm keeps telling me that supposedly full of school, is coming in 2027, but I feel like they're just always like pushing the goal post, you know, down. They are. They're just like dangling the carrot.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Next year, actually, we'll do it. What's going to end up happening is that they're going to, they're going to use AI to figure out so much stuff, right? And they're going to say it was AI who came up with it, but really it was just, like, we finally, like, we're able to talk to the aliens and they told us what? I can't wait for that. I can't either, man.
Starting point is 00:07:19 I need the aliens to have, like, some golden tickets to get the fuck out of here. Yeah, I want to go to Alpha Centauri. I want to go to a Ritney. Why not? Anywhere. Let me just tell you about my sketch. Considering we're recording at this early hour, I'm assuming it's insane. That's not good.
Starting point is 00:07:34 I'm not, I think it was last year before I was like, I'm not going to agree to anything anymore. And I am now going to stick to that. So I went to Alabama this past week for my kind of like college boys trip that I do every year called the Who Cup. Let me stay actually at an amazing place called the Grand outside of Mobile, Alabama. Wow. Very fun. I'd recommend. It's really old.
Starting point is 00:07:57 It was like a hospital, the confederate. Oh, I immediately was like, this place is haunted. And everyone's like, you say that everywhere you go. And I was like, no, I can just tell. And then we were on a shuttle ride. And so the lady, I was like, how old is this place? And she was like, well, it was built in 1825. And I was like, that seems really old.
Starting point is 00:08:14 And she was like, yeah, it's got amazing history. It was a hospital for the Confederacy during the Civil War. And we have ourselves a Civil War Cemetery. And that's where it's really haunted over there in the main house and over by the cemetery. I was like, where's the cemetery? And she's like, right by the driving range. I was like, sweet. It's where we're going right now.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Awesome. Do people ever report hauntings? And they're like, every single day. Every single day we got haunting. And I was like, holy shit, dude. Yeah. Probably the backbone of their tourism, honestly. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:08:41 I don't know. Anyways, we went there. It was really nice, actually. The hospitality was great. The place was fantastic. No complaints. Anyway, so I flew back last night. Went to bed at 8 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Love that. for you. Oh, needed it. I woke up about 530. We're recording at 6. Got a hard out at 7.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Got a hard out at 7 because I got a flight at 9. You have a flight out of L.A.X at 9 o'clock? Burbank. Thank God. Okay, okay, okay. J.S.X. Oh, love. But still, I need to pack.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I need to get over there. I don't know what to do that. Can you do all that within an hour of your flight? If we're done at 7, I can get everything done by 8 and be out of the door around 8. to get there by waiting. Oh, so that gives you an hour to get ready.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Yeah. Okay, okay, okay. That seems more doable. I can do it. It's just going to be tight. It is. Be tight for your boy. But anyways, it's all good things.
Starting point is 00:09:34 It's all fun things. I'm going up there for a fun charity event in Monterey. So if you're in Monterey, come hang out with me, called the golf party. And yeah, and then after this, Brandy, after this, I'm done. I'm not doing a goddamn thing until. I don't believe you.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Well, until the middle of October. And then I go to it, London town to go see. Sarah. That's fun. Yeah. How long are you staying? Eight, nine days, eight days. Okay, that's a good trip.
Starting point is 00:10:00 I haven't been to London since I was like 20. I'd never been to London. I'd love to go back. Come on. Come with me. I can't go anywhere. This house is in freaking shambles. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:10 The amount of garbage. I just keep piling garbage on the porch so that when Matt comes home, he can remove it. But it's quite the pile. Man, you've got to really test in this relationship, by the way. I know. Really putting a lot of stress on it. Well, we moved into the house and he fucking left the next day. Like, he slept here one night.
Starting point is 00:10:30 It was like, got to go on a motorcycle trip. And it's his fucking birthday. So what was I going to say? Like, no, you can't go. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. The old birthday excuse.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Oh, yeah. It's a good one. You want to that show? Yeah. Me or you. I think it's you. Rose and hose. I am a poor beggar.
Starting point is 00:10:52 I'm Brandy, Cyrus, and I need some oats and way. You're listening to your favorite thing podcast with. Wells and Brandy. You guys, I know it's August, but fall is so close. I can almost feel it. I have officially started fall wardrobe shopping. I am done with summer clothes. And as you guys know, one of my favorite places to online shop is Quince.
Starting point is 00:11:13 I love that Quince does elevated everyday essentials using premium materials, anything from like basic teas and tanks. They have an organic cotton collection that I'm obsessed with. But when it comes to fall and transitioning into winter, I am so in love with their Mongolian cashmere sweaters. Get this, they start at just $50. So you're getting something super luxurious, but at a completely acceptable price point. So you're getting luxury, but without that luxury price tag.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Quince truly has something for everyone, whether you're looking for denim, leather bags, they've got footwear, they have jewelry. They even have home items. So when I start stocking the house with sheets and towels, Quince is such a good place to shop for those things. The prices are just so good for the quality of products that you're getting. So if you want to find fall pieces that you'll reach for most at Quince, download the Quince app for an app exclusive offer.

Starting point is 00:12:28 Zazzle. I do. I love Zazzle. You're a Zazzle girl. I am. Dude, you are terrible at gift-giving. I will admit that. I've known you for the better part of a decade
Starting point is 00:12:39 and you're just not good at giving people gifts, but Zazel has helped you out. It has. Okay, I'm not great at it because I'm not good at gift ideas. And this is why I love Zazel. They have so many gift ideas, you guys. Like, who doesn't love a personalized item? Everyone does, whether it's personalized with your name or, you know, me.
Starting point is 00:13:01 I love to personalize anything for the animals, the dogs, the horses. Zazel has this custom marketplace where you can customize any product. So if Sarah need a coffee mug with Boo's face, Zazel can make it happen. You know what I'm saying? Like, they have everything. Starting point is 00:14:44 I'm like so I was really hoping I'd have it all watched by this morning so that we could chat about it, but I'm one episode away from the finale, unfortunately. But you're right, it did pick up the second half of the season's way better than the first half was. Yeah, but here's my complaint. It's feeling very paradisi, which is stupid because this show came out before Paradise. Yes, I agree. So that annoys me. Well, I think Paradise really works with like multiverse, multiple timelines.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Sure. And this one is just end of days stuff. Yeah. But you know, the bunker. And that's kind of how Paradise started was like the world's ending. We're building the bunker. I watched the end of silo. I enjoyed the end of it.
Starting point is 00:15:28 This isn't the last season, is it? I think they've got one more. I don't know. No, there is one more. There's season four. And then they've already filmed it too. It's picking back up. I do love it.
Starting point is 00:15:39 I guess I just wish those two shows had been like a bit more spread out maybe. but yeah, it's picking up. I finished Sterling Point, that show I was telling you about on Amazon Prime that Margot Robbie produced and my friend Megan created, directed, wrote, it was so fucking good. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:57 So, so good. You guys have to watch this show. Ella Rubin, who's the lead, she's the main girl. She is fucking phenomenal. And now that she's done this show, like clips are resurfacing of like other stuff that she did previously.
Starting point is 00:16:12 I completely forgot that she was in that movie, the idea of you with Anne Hathaway a few years ago. It was the story about, so Anne Hathaway's character, she's an aunt's a mom and Ella Rubin plays her daughter and Anne Hathaway falls in love with a guy her daughter's age, like this guy in a band or some shit. And like, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:16:33 it was a little controversial when it first came out, I feel like, but great movie. I forgot that Ella was in that. And she was really good in that too, but man, just was so great in this. Like gosh, I hope she gets some sort of recognition
Starting point is 00:16:48 for that because especially the last episode, just like some really emotional scenes and she was fantastic. So if you guys haven't started that one, you have to. It's really good. Okay. Like, what I like it though? I don't know. Do you like the YA
Starting point is 00:17:04 like lovey-dovey stuff? No, not so much. I don't think so. I mean, this is this is in the vein of like summer I turned pretty It's like that. It's like these younger kids, like coming of age. And there's like some love store vibes.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I don't know that it's quite your cup of tea. But if you're a girl, I would say watch it. It's really great. I watched a documentary last night about, do you remember the girl who was breakdancing in the Olympics named Raygun? And she was terrible at it. And everyone made fun of her. And they're like, how did she get in here?
Starting point is 00:17:37 And a little bit of like, I do. You don't? I don't think so. Brandy, it was like the biggest thing. Which Olympics? It was Paris, 2024. Oh, no, I don't really remember that. Well, anyways, she is an Australian.
Starting point is 00:17:51 You should, you're, ask bad about this. Okay. So she's an Australian breakdancer. It was the first year that breakdancing was in the Olympics, which, what are we doing, guys? Come on. There's some questionable Olympic sports. We know this.
Starting point is 00:18:03 There are for sure. So there was this girl named Ray Gunn, who was, like, in, like, the main thing. And she was just, like, so comically bad that everyone's like, what's going? Look up a video. Let's see a video. Yeah, let's see a video.
Starting point is 00:18:17 Raygun. Is that even a real name? Raygun versus Nica from Lithuania. There she is. It's a pride of Australia right there. Raygun, she's like, yeah, how's daddy? Do you remember this girl? Next up to battle we have from Australia.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Big girl Reagan and she'll be going up against. Biggeral Nika from Lithuania. Okay, I'm going to go to where she fits. It's really nice that regardless of the result, these dancers get to show their stuff for a couple battles here in the round robin. Regardless the result. A nice chance to showcase who they are. I can't believe there's this big of a crowd here. Displaying their creativity.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Anika knows, you can see. Nika knows. She's probably at a slightly higher level. Now, here's some of those actually can do this. This is great. It gives her confidence going into the quarterfax. finals if she moves on. Another classic David is the music
Starting point is 00:19:18 that they've been playing and been out by. And I hope they save something for the later rounds. Anyways. I do not remember this. I never saw this. Oh my God. And I cannot believe that this is in the Olympics.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Rachel Gunn never expected to be an Olympian, but as Ray Gunn's performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics went viral overnight, so did an avalanche of memes misinformation and conspiracy theories questioning how she even got there. Raygun breaking badly. It is amazing because I don't even understand how she got to the Olympics.
Starting point is 00:19:58 There must have been no one else. I guess. I don't know. What's funny is that there's like other Australian guys who like, because they call themselves B-boys or B-girls, and that's a break-dancing boy or break-dancing girl. Okay. I'm not very creative.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Her friend who's like a B-boy who's like, who's a, think pretty good is like I thought her her performance was amazing it was so good and I'm like what were you watching that I wasn't watching because that was not right anyways and she's like I can't believe everyone so mean to me dude come on first of all this is the problem that we don't have people won't tell the truth to other people someone should be like you shouldn't you shouldn't do this all right I don't think you're at that level you know yeah and then she's like it's a little bit of like woe is me I can't believe this all happened to me but it's like it's on you a little bit You had to know that you were up against people who actually could do this thing,
Starting point is 00:20:46 and you couldn't. And that's okay. Anyways, it's absolutely hilarious. She tried to incorporate things from Australia into her dance. So she did a kangaroo hop. She did like a swimming motion because Australians are known for their swimming. This is insane.
Starting point is 00:21:01 I know. Absolutely insane. You have to watch Raygon breaking badly. Okay. And it's also like, she's like, it's a little woe as me. Like, everyone made means about me and that, you know, everyone's being fun of me. And it's like, and but you're not, you're still doing. You're making a documentary with Netflix, you know?
Starting point is 00:21:17 Yeah. Ever ends. Anywho. Fascinating. Got to check it out. The other thing that I watched was, here's a comedian that I like a lot. He's Greek. His name Stavos, I can't spread around his last name.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Hakeas, Uncle Star. Anyways, he's like this fat Greek guy with like long hair, but he's balding on top and a mustache. He just looks the most Greek. And he is, and he's wearing like a track. suit in his stand-up thing. He is absolutely hilarious. Guy's a goddamn star and I love him to death. Anyways, you got to watch Stavros.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Uncle Stavreau. Stavros returns for a second Netflix special. Uncle Stav, bringing his signature charm with added wisdom from becoming an uncle. You won't watch that. I won't watch it, but where would I watch it if I was going to? Netflix, baby.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Netflix. You know it. Yeah, I'm not a big stand-up gal. All right, guys. We've all had those nights, the ones where you laugh until the sun comes up, where conversations go places they have never gone before, and you walk away feeling closer to the people around you than you have in years. That's psilocybin. It doesn't just open doors in your mind. It opens them between people. This episode brought to you by Schedule 35, the most trusted name in psilocybin products, whether you're microdosing for focus and clarity or taking full recreational dose to reconnect with life. Schedule 35 makes every experience intentional, consistent, and precisely dosed.
Starting point is 00:22:45 These aren't party drugs. They are connection tools for your mind, your creativity, your relationships, and honestly, maybe your soul. So head on over to Schedule35.co and use promo code YFT for 15% off your first order. That's Schedule 35.co code YFT 15% off. You know what's coming back this week? Tell me. Traders, new blood.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Oh, that's exciting. Is this the one that's not celebrities? Yeah. And I got a feeling it's going to be good. And the celebrities might need to watch out because if it's really good, they're going to be like, we're just going to keep using the cheap, you know, normies and not D-list celebrities. Yeah. That's exciting.
Starting point is 00:23:26 I do love traders. So I do, you know, I do another show called by Order of the Faithfuls where myself in Dolores Catania, who won season three that I was on. So we're going to be breaking it down. So I'll break it down here. but I'm really going to go in depth and have like guests and stuff over there. So please go check that out. Nice.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Did I tell you about Signal 1? I don't think so. What is that? It's with. Maybe you did actually. I don't know if I finished it. Isabel Furman, Dennis Quaid. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:52 You did talk about it, but did you not finish? Maybe you didn't finish it. Josh Hutcherson. Yeah, it's really good, actually. Yeah. It's all about like contacting aliens. A lot of alien stuff out these days. People like horror and they like aliens.
Starting point is 00:24:06 They do. Oh, I'm calling. caught up on dark matter. I'm sure you're not. Oh, no, I watched the second episode, though. Oh, you know what I did watch that I absolutely loved? Tell? Over your dead body. Oh, what's that? It's with Samara Weaving, who's in like everything, her and Sarah friends, Jason Seagull, and Timothy Olofant, and Juliette Lewis. So a dysfunctional married couple retreats to a secluded cabin to repair the relationship, but each separately plots to murder the other. So, God. It's a dysfunctional. It's So funny, dude.
Starting point is 00:24:39 Okay. So it starts with Jason Segal's character is like, he's like a director in LA. And it starts with him like talking to like, you know, his DP or whatever at Crafty. And he's like, so yeah, we're going, we're going to go camping this week. And, you know, my wife, she keeps on saying she wants to go, she wants to go hiking and she wants to do this hike alone. But like, I think it's dangerous. We're going to go camping. But I, you know, I told her she shouldn't go hiking.
Starting point is 00:25:05 That's dangerous. And the DP's like, okay, well, maybe she shouldn't go. I don't know. Then he goes and sees his dad, and his dad's like in a home. And he's like, we're going to go to the lake to the cabin.
Starting point is 00:25:18 And he's like, okay. And he's like, you know, she keeps talking about going along with this camp. It was going to go on this hike. I think it's dangerous. Dad's like,
Starting point is 00:25:26 I don't care about what are you talking about. But he's like trying to set up because he's going to kill her. So he gets all this stuff. And so he goes to the cabin. He's got something that. that's going to come help him effectively do it. And like right when he starts to do it, you start realizing that she's been doing the exact same thing
Starting point is 00:25:45 and she's been planning to kill him. And then like you get to see her story of like how she's going to kill him. And they're just like so mean to each other. And it's so funny. And then what happens is there's a twist where there's like two escape convicts and a police guard who's a woman who have escaped from jail. And they're like hiding in the, woods or whatnot and they end up coming in contact with both of this couple that's trying to
Starting point is 00:26:12 kill each other so now there's kind of like a third thing that's happening anyways sam weaving and uh timothy oliphant and jason seagull are absolutely fucking hilarious juliet louis always good too it is so good i don't know why i slept on it for so long i was going to say what yeah i can't believe you almost forgot about it this sounds great i know i was watching on the plane i even texted sarah i was like sam's new movie is fantastic why has no one talking about this. Wow. So anyways, and you like it too because it's an American who's married to an Australian and they try to kill each other. Yeah, sounds great. Sounds like exactly what's happening in your life right now. Sounds so good. Where do you watch this? I watch it on the plane,
Starting point is 00:26:51 but you can watch it on AMC Plus and Sundance Now. What are those things? I don't know. I'm sure you can get it like a prime too. That's what I was thinking is prime. Are you interested at all in this Chris Hanson movie with Robert Pattinson. No, I don't know about it. Oh, you know who Chris Hanson is? Yeah. Daylight NBC to Catch a Predator. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Remember that show? Robert Pattinson is doing like a movie about him playing Chris Hanson. Oh. I gotta be honest. You love Rob Pattinson. I do like Rob Pattinson, actually. You're a big Rob P fan. Great jawline that guy.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Yeah. He'll always just be Edward Helen to me. I know. He hated that role too, which is very funny. I know. He did not. I think they all did. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Which also like, you have lots of money because of that. I know. But we did try to watch that recently. It is crazy weird. No what? Wait, what, Twilight? Yeah. You tried to watch that recently?
Starting point is 00:27:52 But I didn't try. We did. We watched it recently and I just kind of made fun. Why did that? It's weird. When we turn on our TV upstairs, it goes to like this like free TV station thing. I don't know. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:28:03 but like and it's always like rom-com. It's always like Hallmark movies. But for some reason, for like a week, it was just Twilight. Every time we turned it on, it was Twilight. So then we were like, you don't know what I should watch it? Like, we should watch it. So then we went and rented it or whatnot and watched it in full. And it is so incredibly bad.
Starting point is 00:28:21 Like I can't believe they got away with it. I know. It is bad. Noah watches it constantly. She just watches it and rewatches it. It's like her favorite thing in the world. It's like her comfort thing to watch. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:31 I mean, listen, when the books came out, I was fucking obsessed. Like obsessed. And I auditioned for like every Twilight movie there was. Oh really? I wanted to be in it so bad. Yeah. But you're right.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Like they weren't done well. Like I don't know why because they were, the books were huge and you would have thought that they would have had this massive budget and it, this was so bad. Yeah. The music was good. I do remember that about that whole series. Whoever was the music, whoever was the music supervisor on those movies was so good. I actually for a second thought I wanted to be a music supervisor because of that.
Starting point is 00:29:06 I remember that. All right. Well, it's not too late. You're right. The movies weren't great. Yeah, I know. I could do that. Some YFTier sent me this and I wanted to show you.
Starting point is 00:29:17 You know who Justin Thoreau is? I do. He was getting interviewed. Questions. Oh, God. What was your favorite movie as a kid? The Jerk and Apocalypse Now, weirdly, I've watched early on. What was your favorite movie?
Starting point is 00:29:35 Your aha moment when you realized you wanted to work in TV and film. I'm still waiting on that moment. It hasn't happened yet. But I think my aha moment was when I was finally starting to work in TV and film. It's mostly doing place. If you can catch yourself in any TV series or film, what would it be? I don't know. I don't know. What's the best opening scene of a movie?
Starting point is 00:29:59 2001 in Space Odyssey. What is your Guilty Pleasure TV show? I love The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise specifically. Who is your favorite character from any TV series or film and why? I don't really have a favorite character.
Starting point is 00:30:19 I don't know, I guess it's someone from Bachelor in Paradise. Bartender. Oh, that's it? The bartender maybe. Justin Thoreau, acclaimed theater, television, and Silva Screenstar says his favorite character
Starting point is 00:30:36 in all of entertainment is you boy. The bartender from Bachelor in Paradise. That's actually insane. You know, my first thought was, Jennifer Anderson knows who I am. Because they were married, so you know that they're watching that shit together. They definitely were.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Yeah. That's hilarious. There is a real world where Jennifer Aniston totally knows who I am. Actually, she should anyways. I think she played Sarah's mom in a movie. Oh. That makes sense.
Starting point is 00:31:07 That's so funny. I can't believe that. I know. Isn't that great? Yeah, it's hilarious. I needed a little pick me up, you know? That's a good one. I needed something to kind of make me feel better about myself.
Starting point is 00:31:19 So thank you, Justin Thoreau. I'm a fan of all your films and TV shows. I loved that HBO show he did. Leftovers? Leftovers. That book was great, too, by the way. Yeah. Highly recommend.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Yeah. What do you got? Coming up this week. Well, I was supposed to go to Boise in L.A. this week, and I had to cancel it because of this freaking move. So I'm home. I'm trying to unpack. I'm trying to finish painting. I'm trying to finish all these things. The dogs are having a very hard time with this move. Much harder than I. Okay. Why?
Starting point is 00:31:57 I mean, the two little ones are older, and I just think being in a new place is just a lot for them. Like, Astra is fine. Astra goes, like, she travels with me and I take her everywhere every day. Like, she's fine. But the two little ones just don't leave that house. I haven't left that house in seven, eight years, except to go to the fucking vet. So they're anxious, very, very anxious. So I'm glad I didn't just, like, dump them here and leave. So I'm trying to get them settled into a routine. And like right now, they're just like, anytime I get up, they just get up and follow me wherever I go. They're just so, like, unsure. So just trying to get them settled. But I do have a show in Nashville on Saturday.
Starting point is 00:32:33 I think I mentioned this last week. They opened a Palm Tree Club downtown on Broadway. It's Kaigo's club that he owns. He played it this past weekend. So if you're in Nashville, come have one last summer swore on Broadway with me. I'm playing at 11 o'clock Saturday night. And it's really like my last like summer show. So I've got a bunch of friends coming out.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I'd like to like go out with a bang. Yeah. Yeah. It'll be my first chance to play Miley's new song out in the club. That's exciting. Nice. We don't even know if we talked about that last week. She put out a single called Bass Persuades.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Also the name of the album that's coming out this weekend. There's some good club tracks on there. There's a few that I'm excited to mess with and maybe try to remix and play out in the clubs. I think it's got that the whole album's definitely, well, the majority of the album's got like a dance vibe to it. There's a couple outliers on there. But yeah, so that's exciting. And I'm just trying to get my fucking ducks in a row because in October, I'm traveling so much.
Starting point is 00:33:34 Yeah. Yeah. What about you? What you do? You're going to golf. Yeah. Golf is life. Golf is life.
Starting point is 00:33:39 And then I'm not doing anything except more golf. Yeah, no, I'm done. After this trip, I'm... You're not. I'm going to put up the sticks for like at least three weeks. I just... No one believes you. I know.
Starting point is 00:33:51 I know. I know, I know. But I'm thinking, I'm not trying. Yeah, I'm going up to Monterey to Huey Lewis and the news is putting on this thing called the golf party, which is like basically a celebrity proam, but it's also raising money for really good charity, which is called the Monterey Peninsula Foundation,
Starting point is 00:34:10 which also is a part of First Tea, which helps kids play golf effectively. And it's obviously an expensive sport. So like, I think kids need some help sometimes, families need help with it. So it's all under a philanthropic umbrella that is very cool. And also like near and dear to my heart because I actually interned at First Tea
Starting point is 00:34:31 when it first started. And I was like a junior golfer of a Monterey. So, you know, anyways. So I'm going to go do that. And then I come back. Thank Christ. And then I'm here until I go to Londontown. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:34:48 All right. But yeah, wife, too, sorry, this is a short episode. But your boys got to go on a plane. Yeah. Yeah. And I got to get my life together. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Yeah. Well, good luck. remodeling. I hope it all goes well. Please tell Matt, happy birthday for me. Thank you. Thank you. I will. All right. Uh, see you later.
