Episode Date: July 29, 2026

Wells gets manhandled by his own nieces and nephews in a water basketball game he compares to fighting Jake Paul, then tears up over a dance dedicated to a contestant's late mom on Dancing Wi...th the Stars: The Next Pro. Brandi has her first ever caviar bump and gets told by Wells that turning one down would be "financially irresponsible," right before she invents a whole new way to say the common phrase "nickel and dime."They also debate self driving cars and spiral into a full Bigfoot conspiracy (including a theory on female Bigfoots, or "Littlefeets"). They break down Sarah's theory of "pretasting" your food before you even order it, and pitch their dream retirement community for millennials, complete with golf carts and a pool bar.FAVORITE THINGS:Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro (Hulu)Lucky (Apple TV)Famous by Blake CrouchRansom Canyon Season 2 (Netflix)Shrinking (Apple TV)Thanks for tuning in, YFTers. Starting point is 00:00:00 This podcast is brought to you by Podcast Nation. Uh, what's up? Hello. What are you doing? Oh, just winding it down for the evening. Just winded it down? Wined it down. It's 8.30.
Starting point is 00:00:15 I know. It's like almost my bedtime. Sorry I had to push the recording because I was driving back from Monterey today. No worries. How is Monterey? Beautiful, lovely. I don't know if you saw, but Sarah and I went. and watch the sunset on Carmel Beach
Starting point is 00:00:31 and we got some rosé and some caviar, which... I did see that. I mean, let me just tell you what. That's the play. Caviar on the beach. Caviar on Carmel Beach, a little bit of rosé.
Starting point is 00:00:43 It's my favorite thing in the world. Wow. No, no. I'll have to try it. I'll tell you what they need to do. We were talking about this, that some, like, market or restaurant should put together, like, a sunset package
Starting point is 00:00:56 where it's, like, a couple different types of ones. Maybe like canned wines. Maybe a cheese charcutory situation. Maybe a caviar one as well. And I think that you would sell, those would sell like hotcakes. Yeah, you're probably right. I had my very first ever caviar bump.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Oh, you did? Last week, yeah. Did you like it? I mean, yeah. I just, you know, I've never done a bump of anything. So I was just like, oh, I don't know how to do this. And they put it on your hand and then you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Licked it off. Yeah. Did you like the taste of caviarate though? I feel like you probably, you to me seem like a person that would think it's like too salty. So I've had it before, but I've never had it at like a very nice restaurant before. Yeah. So when I've had it in the past, I'm like, I probably didn't need that. But when I had it, I went to this like an insane sushi spot that just opened here in Nashville.
Starting point is 00:01:53 And it was like, you know, the fish was like, it was like the best sushi I've had in a while. and so their caviar was top tier and I did really like it a lot it wasn't as salty I guess as some of the others I've had yeah it's for me it's more the texture that freaks me you know
Starting point is 00:02:10 but it didn't bother me I was kind of like oh that was kind of good like I could probably have another one of those but I'm not going to because it's so expensive yeah but if someone was giving them out then you can take them so it's giving them out then sure yeah
Starting point is 00:02:24 sure that's what they say about cocaine well if they're giving out the bumps. Yeah, it would be irresponsible for me not to do the drugs. Guess so. You know, like in terms of math, financially irresponsible if I don't do the caviar bumps. Try the drugs? Yeah, you know, whatever. I mean, no, that's a terrible piece of advice. Don't try the drugs. Stay off the drugs. I've never tried the drugs, guys. So don't listen to me. Me neither. I've never done the drugs. Not even like Molly? Um, yeah, I have it. I've done that one. Oh, that's a drug. That's true.
Starting point is 00:02:57 That's true. I've never done that. Like the cocaine, I've seen it, but I feel like I'm already, you know, like high strung and, you know, too talkative. You don't need that. You put me on cocaine? Oh, my God. What a nightmare that would be for everyone. I agree. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Going back to us being old. So we went up there and it was basically, we were doing like an 85th birthday party for my dad. So we all went to the Carmel River and went crawfishing. but we had like all this like family time. So I have, you know, I have 10 nieces and nephews. Insane. Ranging from like 22 to 4, you know. We went and had a pool day and we played water basketball.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Cute. And so they were like, Uncle Bub, come on, come play with us. You were supposed to be such a good athlete. And I was like, all, I went in there. First of all, high schoolers and college kids are rough in the water. I was getting my ass kicked, all right? I believe it. get manhandled like a little biach.
Starting point is 00:04:00 And I'm 42 years old and probably got like 20 pounds on a lot of them. But they are zero body fat. They just burn calories all day long. They never stop. Their cardio is insane. I made the winning shot. And I was like, I was like, I got to get out of here. So then the next morning I wake up, we're supposed to go play golf.
Starting point is 00:04:23 And I was like, I don't know if I can go play golf. And Sarah's like, why? And I was like, I feel like I was in an MMA fight last night. I think I got my ass kicked. I'm like Jake Paul over here. Like everything's rickety. Everything hurts. And it was all from a water basketball game with some high schoolers.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Damn. Yeah, you're old. Yeah. I am. Yeah. Yeah. But it was a lot of fun. It was fun hanging out with all those kids.
Starting point is 00:04:49 And it keeps you young. It does. You know, I think it's important to hang with the kitties. Just like going to the kids. club keeps me young. Yeah, I know. I saw the picture. You took a picture of like all the people behind you. That's fun, huh? Yeah, that's a big party. Yep, that place is incredible. Shout out DJs in Belmar, New Jersey. Uh, I just have the best time ever to my go. And since I am also old, these nightclubs, it's tough to stay up till 1 a.m. to play this headlining set. And,
Starting point is 00:05:21 but that's what I was expecting because when I've played there previously, it's been a very late set always very litty very fun and this year i got a text as i was boarding the plane from nashville to fly there i got a text that my set time was going to be 8 30 to 10 that's the perfect time that's the best news i've ever heard yeah that's great news literally like just totally changed the game for me and you know what club was packed yeah night was lit kitty yeah it was great but you know I feel like being in the club, dancing with the kids keeps me young. Eventually, we're going to have to stop all this and just move into a retirement home. You're right.
Starting point is 00:06:01 I look forward to it. I do, too. It sounds so, so nice. You get to drive around in the golf cart everywhere. Yeah, just imagine if all of us wound up in the same retirement home and we were kicking it. That sounds fun. You know what would be a fun thing to do is if, like, in a bigger city, like, so like L.A. or Scottsdale or whatever, Someone came in there and they bought an old retirement home,
Starting point is 00:06:25 but then they were like, but we're making this for like millennials to move into. That'd be sick. But it's all the same stuff. It's all golf carts. It's tennis. It's golf. It's like there's like there that you can take your golf cart to get the groceries,
Starting point is 00:06:37 you know. Like West Haven. Exactly. That's what it is. Yeah. But West Haven is expensive. Yeah, it's too expensive. Especially when you're that old.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Do you spend all your money? No, thanks. Yeah. I want like a little two bedroom bungalow. Totally. With like a communal pool. I don't need my own pool, but like a pool that's, I can walk to. At that age, you probably want, like, people to hang out with at the pool, I guess.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Yeah. Especially if we have, if we made our own retirement community for millennials. You want to hang out with your buds. Yeah, I'd be like, you guys want to go to the pool today? Totally. Set up a bar out there? Let's do it. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:07:12 I'm in. I think it's a good idea, actually. You too. I'll tell you what, man. Cars have gotten crazy. So we drove up to Monterey. which by the way is not so we live in LA Monterey's about a four and a half hour drive for us right if you can like if you can get the traffic right right but going to LAX so if you if we went from
Starting point is 00:07:34 to a flight from LAX from our house you know you have to get there an hour early but usually it takes about an hour to get there so that's two hours you do jet suite because we have jet suite it's seasonal yeah we always drive and I actually kind of like driving because it gives you the freedom one to be able to maneuver around the town. And then you can leave whenever you want. And then you can leave whenever you want, which is nice. Like we were like, should we go back on Sunday? And then we're like, let's go back on one day.
Starting point is 00:07:59 So Sarah's got a new car and you can set the cruise control. Like, that's not new, setting a cruise control. But then you can say, okay, I'm setting the cruise can call it 78. But then if it sees a car in front of you, it slows down for you. Yep. And then when it goes faster, then it speeds up but only to like what you've set it to. Yep. And then the wheel doesn't, you know, the wheel is like, beep, beep, beep, when you like go across the lines.
Starting point is 00:08:25 It's like, oh, yeah, basically drives for you. Let's just get some automated cars. Like, what do we do it? Right. You know? I know. I agree. I feel like we're, like the technology's got to be there.
Starting point is 00:08:34 It's there now. Let's just do it. I know. I mean, that's what way Mozart. Yeah, but they got all those things fucking spinning around, you know, they look stupid. They do. I think that Tesla's can do it, but they need to do it for a gasoline car. Well, I was about to say.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I feel like I already griped about how quiet electric cars are. I don't like that. It's creepy. I don't like how Tesla's sound. It's like, is it really the sound like that? Or is that the sound that you think that, like futuristic cars sound like,
Starting point is 00:09:04 and you made it sound like that. Do you know what I'm saying? I think it's that one too. I think the best, I don't think it makes any sound, but they're like, it was got to make some sound. So they're like,
Starting point is 00:09:11 let's just get the Jetsons sound and have it play that. Yeah. They're not for me. They're not for me either. I wish, if they could go, if they could, last longer than great, but like you can't take them up to Monterey.
Starting point is 00:09:23 I took a Tesla up to Monterey once and I had to stop twice. Yeah. And it's not like stopping on a gas station where it takes 10 minutes. It's like 25 minutes, 30 minutes. No, that's terrible. No, thank you. I'm all for saving the planet, but I don't know, I don't know if it's... I don't think they do save the planet.
Starting point is 00:09:37 I don't think it's helping at all. Something about the battery. I'll tell you what, I'm seeing more and more Bigfoot footage. I'm not sure if you're getting, if you're on this side of this. I'm definitely not. They're getting a lot of photos of big. Bigfoot these days. Really?
Starting point is 00:09:51 I think that big foot's real now. Where are they seeing this big foot? I don't know. In the forests. How fun would it be if there was bigfoot? And we never had a skeleton or whatever. And then finally we're like, yeah, they're here. And also aliens are here too.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Obviously. Maybe bigfuts are aliens, actually. That's possible. Well, if there's multiple big foots, then there have to be women big foots. Yeah. Females. Yeah, little feats. Oh, but less big.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Yeah, yeah. A less big foot. Or less big foot. So I'm assuming you have no content since this is what we're talking about. I got a couple things. I got a couple things. You want to start the show and then do it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Okay. Is it me or you? Me, I think. Go for it. Bros and hoes. Actually, maybe it was you. You're listening to your favorite thing podcast with. Wells and Brandy.
Starting point is 00:10:43 All right. These days, it seems like Brandi, everyone is a creator. You know? It's true. You got to be on social media. You got to be creating. and if you're doing that, you definitely need story blocks. It's 100% human-made stock media library that's essential for creators.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Millions of professionally curated assets, footage, music, sound effects, templates, and images. Everything is pre-licensed and ready to use under one subscription. For me, I get super overwhelmed sometimes when it comes to making content. What I love about story blocks is that you have unlimited downloads under just one subscription, and they have thousands of customizable pre-made templates for you to start editing. So it makes it so easy to take a template and then it's just a few steps to customize it to you and what you want rather than having to completely start from scratch. Members actually save an average of three and a half hours per week with story blocks.
Starting point is 00:11:37 That's a lot of extra time. And honestly, like one of the things that ters me for making content is that it is so time-consuming. So being able to use something like story blocks to cut down that time and give more hours back to me, during the week is huge. Head to storyblocks.com slash YFT to access the human-made stock media library that's essential for our workflow. For a limited time, they're offering 15% off any annual plan and that discount is only available through our link.

I love them so much because they make elevated essentials using premium materials without the traditional retail markup. I love their organic cotton collection. I have the T-shirts. Starting point is 00:14:51 It's not like it's twisting my arm too hard. But all Matt's been wanting to watch is seasons one and two of House of the Dragon so he can catch up. Yeah. So essentially all I've watched are old episodes of House of the Dragon. But thank God he's finally caught up. We're finally on season three now. So I am caught up on that except not really because there's one tonight, which we won't have seen when this comes out. But otherwise, I am caught up.
Starting point is 00:15:13 You know, it's everybody is like shitting on the couple, last couple episodes saying they're boring. Yeah. Like what a waste of an hour. But you're only thinking that and saying that because episode one was so sick. And episode one, I think I mentioned, like I read how episode one of season three was actually meant to be the finale of season two, which is why it was such a huge episode. And then for whatever reason they delayed it and made it the premiere season three. the mistake in doing that is now the rest of season three
Starting point is 00:15:43 is gonna feel like a snooze. Yeah. I still fun for me. I mean, I still like it, but everyone's complaining. So, but I'm into it.
Starting point is 00:15:52 I can't decide yet if Allison is playing her or not. You know, I guess like that's like the idea now is that Allison knew about the fake son and that Allison's in on the fake son becoming king. But I just like don't know
Starting point is 00:16:05 because now that I've been watching season two with Matt and all she, you know, she's like floating in the freaking lake and just like wants out. Part of me is like I don't think she is. Like I kind of think she just wants to get the fuck out, you know? Yeah. But we'll see.
Starting point is 00:16:17 You know what I want them to do? I want them to combine Targaryen and the Dragon Rider world with the Night of the Seven Kingdoms world. And I want to see where they intersect. What's the timeline again? Night of the Seven Kingdoms was first, I thought. No. I think it's, I think it's before.
Starting point is 00:16:35 I think it's in the middle between. Is it? Where we are now. Yeah, I think so. Okay. I could be wrong about that, but I think that would be cool. I think like nine of the second,
Starting point is 00:16:44 the seven kings would be fun. Yeah, would. And I like to see Sir Duncan the Tall like beat the shit of some kings, you know, fuck some people up. With like no dragons,
Starting point is 00:16:54 but he's just so big. He can do it, you can do whatever he wants. Yeah. True. Yeah. Are you watching Dancing with the Stars,
Starting point is 00:17:01 like finding the new star? I'm not. Do I need to be? Oh my God. Yes. Oh, I love dancing with stars. So it's called Dancing with the Stars,
Starting point is 00:17:11 the Next Pro, excuse me. Oh, finding the next pro. Yeah. So they're all like really good dancers because they're going to be the pro, not the celebrity, obviously. And I think I like it much better than dancing with the stars because here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:17:24 I don't care about seeing like some seven foot tall basketball player like fumble around on a dance floor and like try to do a waltz, you know? Sure. It's similar like when you watch the Olympics and someone falls and you're like, you bluser, what are you doing? You know, like, you fell on the triple South cow. Come on, you know.
Starting point is 00:17:42 So, like, they're also in this next pro and they're all so good that you're like, yeah. And they're all different. Like, there's this one guy who, like, really comes from, like, the hip hop world and not really from, like, ballroom. But so he's got, he's got style, you know. All right. He's fun, but, like, he's not as polished as some of the others, you know. There's in drama already because all these people know each other because they've all been, like, doing dance camps and stuff. Also, so they all grow up in Utah, they're all Mormon.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Yeah, I'm sure there's a bunch of Mormons in there. And they're all, they all kind of know each other. There's this one episode, I think it's the second one, where the thing is, is like, you need to, you, we're going to team you up with another, another dancer. And you're going to tell each other your guys' stories. You're going to decide whose story you want to tell. And then you're going to choreograph a dance to that story, right? So there's one guy whose mom passed away, like a couple years ago.
Starting point is 00:18:38 go and he used to watch dancing with the stars with his mom and yeah and he uh and his mom said you know you're going to be on this show one day or whatever you know and like this is this is this is your future or whatnot so he's like I always wanted to do this so he does this dance with this other girl and it's heartbreak everyone on like the judge's table there everyone's crying and I'm crying Sarah's crying everyone's crying It was absolutely beautiful. Very cool how dancing, you know, you can tell a story without saying anything, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:14 It's pretty impressive. And then there were, like, some dancers that were like, I'm going to tell the story the time that I won British nationals. And we're like, that's not a fun story, you know? You're going to tell the story about the time in which you were good, you know? You need to see some heartache. We need to see some trials and tribulations. But we don't want to see you fall.
Starting point is 00:19:34 No, a girl falls in like the first or second episode. Bad. You're really invested. Where do you watch this? Hulu, yeah. Okay. When does the Dancing with Stars next season come out?
Starting point is 00:19:46 Do we know? I want to say It's got to be soon. It's got to be soon. Yeah. Anyways, it is, I got to say, if you like Dancing with the Stars,
Starting point is 00:19:55 Dancing with the Star is the New Pro. We're fighting the new pro. It's better. I'll say it right now. It's better than the other one. Matt's going to hate when Dancing with the Stars comes back on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:06 He gives me so much shit about why. I don't like dancing with the stars. Sarah loves it, but I'm always just like, what are we doing here? I don't care about. We're dancing with the stars. I know. I mean,
Starting point is 00:20:17 you have a different relationship with it because your dad was on it. Yeah, but I just like it. Yeah. It's just good. I don't know. Yeah. Okay, well,
Starting point is 00:20:28 Dancewood stars finding the next pro. Great. I got some things that are not good. Oh. And I feel bad about this, but. Okay, well, let's hear it. The Hawk, Will Ferrell's new.
Starting point is 00:20:38 show on Netflix. Oh, Matt wanted to watch that. Damn. It's, it's just not great. All right. I really wanted it to be great because I love golf and I thought Stick was a really good show. It's just, for whatever reason, that comedy doesn't work anymore. And I don't
Starting point is 00:20:54 know if we've all changed or like it's because Will Ferrell's older and like, so it's not as fun. Like, for whatever reason, because he's doing the same stuff. He's doing the stepbrother stuff. It's all like outrageous and like, commit into the bit and everything.
Starting point is 00:21:09 And it's just like, for whatever reason, it's not that funny. Not landing, huh? It's not landing. Damn. And then the other one, I watched The Dink. Have you heard about that one?
Starting point is 00:21:21 No, what is that? It's with Jake Johnson from New Girl. I never watched New Girl. Is that crazy? No. Okay, first off, you should watch New Girl. It's hilarious. I think I should.
Starting point is 00:21:36 It's so good. Yeah, I don't know why I never got it. into it. Schmidt and Nick and coach. Zoe DeC Chanel. Zoe de Chanel is in it? That's all I know. It's so fucking funny.
Starting point is 00:21:46 That's crazy that you haven't seen that. Anyways, The Dink stars Jake Johnson who plays Nick on New Girl. And it's a movie on Apple TV right now. A washed up tennis pro tries to save a club by reluctantly playing pickleball to earn his father's respect.
Starting point is 00:22:04 The Dink. Oh, pickleball is all the rage right now. I know. So it's Jake Johnson, Mary Steenbergen, Steenbergin, Ed Harris is in it. Aaron Chen's, a very funny comedian, Chloe Feynman's in it, Chris Parnell's in it, Ben Stillers in it.
Starting point is 00:22:20 The cast is fantastic. But it's similar to the Hawk where it's like, I don't know what it is, but like this isn't funny anymore to me. It's like way too over the top and silly, but everyone's trying to cash in on what's popular right now in the sporting world. which is golf and pickleball. Yeah, it's true.
Starting point is 00:22:40 So I get it. Do you ever play pickleball? Yeah. Don't like it? I'm a good tennis player, so usually people who are good at tennis don't like pickleball because you're like, this doesn't take any skill. Like, anyone can do it. But that's also what's great about it is that anyone can go do it. Right.
Starting point is 00:22:57 But I'm sitting there being like, what am I not really getting a work? You don't really move all that much, you know? Have you played pickleball? If everyone want to play tennis, you should call Dom. Is Dom a good tennis player? He's pretty good. goes and plays like every day by himself. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:23:11 Yeah, and he loves having a buddy. Like when his son, we'll go play with him, he's so thrilled. He, like, tried to teach me how to play tennis when we went to Hawaii a couple years ago. And he actually said I kind of like was a natural at it. But I just admit the point in my life where I'm too old to be learning new sports, you know. He'd be starting new hobbies now, not in your 30s. There's a lot of running involved. I just don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:31 I know. I should hit him up because there's tennis courts at the country club, right? By your eyes's house. Oh, wow. He would love that. I think he drives kind of far to go play. Yeah. Well, I'm happy to take it. Tish actually likes it too or she says she does.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Yeah. But she doesn't try very hard. You know, she just stays in her little square. She doesn't do any running to go with the ball. But if it comes to her, she'll hit it. She loves it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She can't be bothered to go to the ball.
Starting point is 00:23:55 The ball needs to come to her. Totally. Hey, what's happening with the ducks, by the way? Oh, did you have to bring it up? Did they die? No, they flew away. Well, that's okay. They'll probably come back.
Starting point is 00:24:08 They flew away without even so much as a thank you and fucked up her pool filter very badly. How so? Because of the poop. So much poop. She had to get a brand new pool filter. It cost thousands. I told you that they were pooping and they're like, no, they're not. I'm like, they're definitely pooping.
Starting point is 00:24:23 I didn't see duck poop. I guess it was all going in the filter. Yeah, the filter was cleaning. The pool is doing its job. The filter now, well, it's that she got a fix, but it was fucked. Yeah. So now she's like, I love the ducks, but I just don't know if I can let him come back. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Because that's an expensive situation. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Oh, well. It was nice for a time. Yeah, I'm sorry that they're gone now. Me too.
Starting point is 00:24:46 I loved them. Yeah. I did watch something that I do really like. Okay. Called Lucky. Oh, is it good? Yeah, it's really good. I mean.
Starting point is 00:24:55 I mean, I like Anya Taylor. Anya Taylor Joy is such a good actor. Yeah. A reformed criminal is forced to confront her past and return to illicit activities for one final job, coping to secure her freedom and leave her former life behind for good. Anya Taylor Joy is lucky on Apple TV. It's really good. I just watched the first episode.
Starting point is 00:25:18 It's very fun and it's very action-packed. Like the entire first episode is her being chased by the FBI and she's like getting away. And then she's also being chased by like bad guys. She's like everyone chasing. Okay. Yeah, I do want to watch that. I was thinking like the premise sounded like it could be a little bit cheesy, but I'm hoping, you know, Apple TV does great shows. I'm hoping.
Starting point is 00:25:37 No, no, hoping that it was good. It's good. And I'll tell you this. Matt will like that show. Oh, really? Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:42 It's a lot of fighting. It's stabbing people. It's robbing people for money. You know, it's like. It scares me how much he likes violence. Yeah. But like. It's a male thing, I think.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Guys like violence, but women like true crime, which to me is scarier. Because that's real. I know. What we're like doesn't exist really in the world. Why do women like that shit? I don't know. I like some of it, but I would much rather watch something like fantasy or sci-fi than that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:18 You know? Well, anyways. Okay. Lucky. We're driving back and you know I made Sarah listen to. What? Famous by Blake Crouch. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:26:29 Yeah. Went back and listened to that. Did you finish the whole thing? No, we got pretty close. Did she like it? she is like, I don't know who was a root for here. She really thinks the guy who pretends to be the actor. Jim Jansen, James Jansen.
Starting point is 00:26:45 She's like, he's sociopathies crazy. It's like, yeah, no kidding. And then we like get to the part where like he does some murdering. Like, yeah, she is crazy. And then the love story with Amy, she was like, I don't care about this. I want you. Yeah, I know. But anyways, it's so fun.
Starting point is 00:27:01 And so if you guys haven't read that, it's such a quick read. We've talked about it before. And it's also a quick story to listen to if you want to do Audible. But I believe that Zach Efron is going to play him in the upcoming movie. And I think that'll be very fun. Yeah, me too. I love Zach. Yeah, it'll be good.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Well, this won't interest you in the least. But season two of Ransom Canyon has finally dropped on Netflix. How do we feel about it? Here's the thing about Ransom Canyon. Yeah. It's a poor man's soap opera version of Yellowstone. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:34 And Yellowstone already is a song. soap opera. It's already kind of soapy, but this one's even worse in that sense. But like Josh Tomol and a cowboy hat, I'm going to watch it. You know what I mean? Minkie Kelly's in it, your girl, Minka. You know? It's a lot of pretty people. A lot of people hating on season two.
Starting point is 00:27:51 I'm only two episodes in. I've tried not to read like too much about it. I don't want any spoilers. But I guess everyone's complaining that like Minka Kelly's character has kind of completely done a 180. Okay. Like in season one, she kind of played this girl that, like, is like the pick me girl and just kind of always goes back for more, even though Josh DeMal's character treats are like shit. And now she's like the complete opposite. But I don't really see anything wrong with that, in my opinion. I'm kind of like, good for her. Like, don't we want her to be like stand up for herself? Like, don't you want her to not be a pick me girl. Yeah. So any here's, this is, I guess, like, it's sort of a spoiler. So if you like really don't want to know anything, fast forward 60 seconds, but it's not really that deep. Because you find out right away that she.
Starting point is 00:28:34 She goes to New York, takes the job in New York. And so season two picks up when she comes back six months later. And she meets a hot British man who plays an instrument in New York. And he, like, wants to be with her. And she's like, oh, I don't know. Because of frigging Josh DeMal's character, of course, when she comes back, being like, I made a mistake. I love you.
Starting point is 00:28:57 Like, whatever. So she's trying to pick. And I'm like, okay, hold on one second. All we have to do is throw a cowboy hat on the hot British. guy. Yeah. And then it's even better because he's a cowboy, but he's got an accent, you know? So I'm rooting for the British guy, which something tells me it's not going to pan
Starting point is 00:29:14 out well for him just because of like how these stories go. But if I was Minkie Kelly, I'd be picking the hot Brit. He's got this, he's got long hair. He's kind of got a mat vibe. He's tall and he's got long hair. He's got an accent. And I'm like, all we got to do is put this guy on a horse and put on the cowboy hat and we're good to go.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Yeah, simple. So that's what I'm hoping pans out, but we'll see. All right. Yeah. I mean, I feel like she's got to go back to, like, the wilderness for, because it's like Yellowstone. Like, she needs to go back. It's actually set in Texas. The ranch is in Texas.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Yeah. So you can't have a show that's about people in Texas in New York. She leaves New York and goes back to Texas. And that's where season two picks up is her coming back, her coming home. And he comes back with her. Oh, he does. Yeah. He's like, well, he surprises her and meets her there.
Starting point is 00:30:00 But like, yeah, he's there in Texas. So I'm like, oh, we needs the hat, the horse. We're good. Yeah. You know? Also, the other couple in the show are just fucking doomed. Like, let's just call a spade a spade. That guy is not going to pull his shit together.
Starting point is 00:30:12 This is just doomed. And that's all I'm going to say about that without doing anything away. All right. I'll check it out. But, you know, if you like Texas or Josh DeMall or soap operas, give it a watch. We got some DM questions we can rip through. Okay. Shannon says, I have a question for the Brandeitha.
Starting point is 00:30:29 I'm taking my nine-year-old daughter to Jackson Hole and driving up to Montana. Hannah from there in two weeks. Is there a place she could ride a horse safely? It's all she wants to do, but has only ridden once during a lesson, also any wrecks for lunch slash dinner. It's just me and her going and she loves experiences over typical kid things. How old is she? How old was the kid?
Starting point is 00:30:54 Nine. Nine. So I would say, yes, there's absolutely places she could ride. You would just have to check and see, like, places normally have, like, an age limit. you know, like a youngest stage that they would let them start. So I guess it would just depend on that. I have ridden it Diamond Cross several times. And it's, they're just walking trail rides.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Like, it's nothing crazy. And all of the horses that I've seen and been on there are very safe. So I would give them a call and see if they would take a kid that young. And if not, I would just call around. There's so many ranches right in Jackson. There's got to be somewhere that would take a nine-year-old. And I just think for the most part, like any of those outfit or trail rides, type places are going to have just like super safe bomb-proof horses because they're used to
Starting point is 00:31:36 beginners being the ones asking to ride. Highly recommend riding in Jackson. As far as food, if you're in like the square, the town, one of my favorite stops is Persephone. It's more of a breakfast or a lunch spot. Great coffee, but just so, so yummy. And then my favorite dinner spot, it might be like a little fancy to take an eight or nine year old, but I don't know. I'm sure they have a kid's menu, but it's called Gloriaetta. And it's an Italian spot, and it is just one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Make a reservation ahead of time. It does book up.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Well, have you been? Yeah, I've been to Jackson Hole. What's your fave? The only thing I really remember of Jackson Hole was the million dollar bar. Yeah, it's fun. I don't know about for an eight or nine-year-old. Yeah, I'm not sure for a nine-year-old. That's where you got to go.
Starting point is 00:32:23 But that's really the only thing I remember. And I remember the T-Tons. Persephone, for sure, is like a must go-to. And then if you like coffee, I drink coffee multiple times a day. I also love cowboy coffee. It's right on the square. It's so yummy.
Starting point is 00:32:38 You can order ahead if you're into that kind of thing. Oh, you know what's good for kids? There's the burger spot on the corner that looks like a pharmacy or something. What is that called? Oh, Jackson Drug. And it's like an old drug store that they revamped into kind of like a diner vibe, but like really good burgers, excellent milkshakes. You go there for nothing else.
Starting point is 00:33:01 You have to get one of the milkshakes. They're insane. But yeah, okay, so this is Jackson Drug, a revamped classic soda shop. Feels like stepping into a time machine. It's very fun, and it's right on the square. So it's a great place to, like, stop, grab a shake or a burger and walk around and shop and see the sites in the square. I love it. I like it.
Starting point is 00:33:19 We got a recommendation from Holly for TV. Holly says, if you liked off campus and Mad Men, I would recommend rivals, warning lots of nudity, but so good. Have you ever heard of that? Wait, is this heated rivalry or something different? No, rivals is... I don't know about rivals. It's a TV series that's on Hulu, came out in 2024,
Starting point is 00:33:41 follows Rupert Campbell Black and Tommy Battingham as they have a long-standing rivalry that comes to a head. Oh, that didn't tell us much. That was like a succession situation. It looks like rich people. Oh. Looks like rich British people.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Okay. But I didn't do it. I could give it a go. Loved off campus. And then let's see. We got some voicemail. Let me second. Hi, Wells and Brandy.
Starting point is 00:34:04 This is Lauren from Chicago, long-time listener. Hey. Just wanted to see if you've heard the TikTok, the Prank Tab show. There was a really funny one with Jessica's look up that one, but it's farts in a jar, and it reminded me of you guys. Also, if you're willing to give out your paramount plus username and password so I can finally watch the next season of From, I would appreciate that so much. Love you guys. Love listening to you. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:34:34 Thank you, Lauren. It's not Paramount Plus. It's MGM Plus. Oh. But that shows... Can you imagine giving it out to everyone, though? I know. That'd be crazy. And then let's see. This is Courtney. Andy, my name is Courtney.
Starting point is 00:34:52 I listen to you guys every single week and I love you guys so much. You keep me entertained while I'm working, while I'm driving, while I'm running, whatever I'm doing. and I just wanted to say I don't know if you guys have talked about this one or not but one of my favorite things right now is the show shrinking it is a show that will absolutely wreck you I cry I laugh
Starting point is 00:35:14 sometimes I'm laughing while I'm crying because it's just so funny it stars Jason Siegel and has Harrison Ford and the storyline is really sad but it's a comedy but also very real life so if you guys haven't watched it go watch right now, binge all three seasons.
Starting point is 00:35:32 It's really good. Anyways, love you guys. Hi. Thanks, Courtney. Yeah, we've talked about shrinking and it is so good. It does pull out your heart strings. Apple TV loves those shows that are comedic but also really touching. They do.
Starting point is 00:35:49 We do. Yeah, they do. Let's see. And then we got some random DMs. Katie says my algorithm has been similar to Wells is lately seeing so many visitors be obsessed with America. especially that they love the chip aisle at the grocery store too. Let's see what this. World Cup visitors are falling in love with the most random things about America.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Elsa tweeted out, why did no one tell me ranch sauce is like crack? Europe, we need ranch ASAP. Ranch sauce. Ranch sauce. World Cup trip. Location Johnny Rockets. It's a burger chain originating from L.A.
Starting point is 00:36:28 that hasn't landed in Japan yet. It has the concept of good old 1950s American Diner Cafeteria, and its signature feature is patties made from 100% beef with absolutely no frozen meat used. It was juicy and delicious. Best review Johnny Rockets has ever had. It's just a burger joint, my guy. Josh Fukushima says, Illinois, Chicago, my favorite South Loop spot, Gino's East, sipping on old style, the most famous local beer,
Starting point is 00:37:02 while savoring the long-awaited signature deep dish pizza. I ordered the house favorite meaty legend and waited about 45 minutes. The piping hot pizza baked in a deep dish finally arrives. Could there be anything in life that makes me this happy? To those heading to America for the World Cup, if there's a Texas roadhouse near a hotel, head there immediately. It's a chain restaurant where you can get the best cost performance. steak, especially the rib eye is absolutely the best.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Okay. This is just them at a taco restaurant. I think this might be the best food in the world from a guy who's Scottish looks like. Scones and mushrooms for breakfast, mind-blown. Hell yeah. That looks like biscuits and gravy. Gravy. Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:37:48 I don't think it's mushrooms. No, but it's bomb. Anyways, it's great that they're learning about. It is. And let's see. This is from Liz for Brandy. this is definitely a favorite idea. It should be mandatory for every airline.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Japan Airlines really said choose your turbulence wisely. One of the Internet's favorite airline features is that Japan Airlines lets passengers see where young children are seated before picking a seat. During booking, seats occupied by children under a certain age are marked with a baby icon, giving fellow travelers the option to sit closer or farther away depending on their preference. Parents love it because it helps families sit together, while other passengers appreciate knowing what to expect before a long flight. It might be one of the most quietly genius features in air travel, proving that a tiny baby icon can save a whole lot of in-flight surprises. Yeah, the only thing better would be to put them on the back.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Yeah, I mean. You're a Rosa Parks these kids? Yeah, put them all together, let them all scream at each other, you know. Yeah, by the engines. Yeah. Get them drowned out by the engine noise. It is the safest place to sit on the plane, apparently. Have you seen that someone at MIT ran the numbers and figured out the most time-efficient way to board an airplane?
Starting point is 00:39:14 No. So, you know, obviously we do it by like first class goes first and then whatever. It's so stupid. It's so dumb. So the way that they found out was that was the best was the first people that come on are like the outer rows. So like window seats, right? Yeah, window seats. And then after that, it was right inside the window seats.
Starting point is 00:39:36 And then after that, it was people in the middle seats. And then after that it went from like the way that we do it takes about 30 minutes to board a plane this way. 11 minutes. I believe it. I know. The way we do it is so stupid. It's so stupid. But the thing is that it's all about overhead.
Starting point is 00:39:57 space. I know. And so if you are first class, you want to make sure that you are on first so you get overhead bin space. But the thing is like typically if there's a plane with first class, they have designated bin space for only first class passengers. So like when I'm flying internationally, typically I'm in business class. So I don't feel the need to rush onto the plane because I know there's designated business class bins. You know, like someone in coach that gets on before me can go put shit in my bin on like southwest. or even on like, I guess, like American and stuff, there's only like two rows of first.
Starting point is 00:40:33 So I guess it matters more about the overhead bin space. Like I feel more pressure to get on earlier so that bin space doesn't run out. But if I'm in first class, I like don't feel that pressure so bad. Yeah. I feel you on that. Yeah. The thing that would solve that problem is just to quit charging everybody a fucking diamond and nickel for every little fucking thing on the airplane.
Starting point is 00:40:50 A diamond and nickel? Yeah. You mean stop nickel and diming them? Yeah. Stop charging a diamond and nickel. I don't think that's the saying. I just made it one. You're saying it backwards.
Starting point is 00:41:04 No. It's nickel and diming them. Yeah, they're nickel and diming them, aka charging them a diamond nickel. I like my way better. By the way, Sarah, the other day, she came up with the weirdest thing. We were like trying to figure out what to order,
Starting point is 00:41:20 like what to order in. And she was like, no, I don't know. I don't think the pre-taste, my pre-taste, I don't think I'd like that. And I was like, what's pre-taste? And she was like, you know, in my mind, I envision what it'll taste like in my mouth. And I was like, so that's called, does it sound appetizing? That's what that word means, appetizing.
Starting point is 00:41:42 And she was like, no, no, pre-taste. I think about like the texture and everything. And I was like, I don't think this is a thing. And she was like, it's a thing. And I was like, it's definitely not a thing. She goes, well, I think it's a thing. So do you think I do it? You do pre-taste?
Starting point is 00:41:54 Or do you do it? That sounds appetizing. I think I do pretaste. Like I think about what that would taste like and then I'm like, no, I don't want that. Wow. That's crazy. Yeah. You don't do that?
Starting point is 00:42:04 I think I do it, but I just think I consider it something else. Like I'm like, hmm, tacos don't seem that appetizing to me right now. Because you pre-tasted. Yeah, I guess I'm pre-tasting. Yeah, you are. You totally are. I know, but I just never heard someone call it pre-taste. I've always...
Starting point is 00:42:19 I mean, me neither, but I will from now on. Like, you'll go look at the menu of the, like, whatever. a restaurant we're going and she'll like pre-taste the menu to know what she's in. Yeah, that's crazy. Genius. Girls are crazy. Or are we just smarter than everyone? Maybe so.
Starting point is 00:42:37 I don't know. What do you got coming up? Oh, guys. Guys, guys, guys. Next week, I am going on, I don't really know what it's called, but I'm going to a wellness, medical retreat place. for a whole week. Nice.
Starting point is 00:43:00 I'll tell you what it's called and all about it when I come back so that people can't stalk me. But I'm excited about it. There are doctors there. It's very much like it's all about your health and longevity. I would say like longevity is a key thing with this place. But they put you on a super strict diet. And you see doctors, you do blood work, you get massages, you have a personal
Starting point is 00:43:26 trainer, you talk to a psychiatrist, like it is all over the board as far as health and wellness and longevity goes. And you're supposed to stay for three weeks. I'm just going to go for one and see how it is. Maybe I'll go back another time. But I'm excited to like talk to them about all my gut issues and try to get that fixed and some of my blood work levels that I'm not super excited about like my low ferdin and everything. I'm really hoping they can help with that. They do all the like, I've done some ozone therapy with my blood, but they do like the extreme version where they take it out of one arm and clean it and take it out of the other and I might get to do that. And then Matt's going to come with me and he's got some he's got some stomach issues too.
Starting point is 00:44:05 He's going to kill me, but he uses the bathroom way too many times a day, you know? I might not go enough, but he goes way through much. Yeah. And he's got a lot of like back pain from the military and wants to talk about like stem cells. Like it just seems like it's a place where like anything you need you can help get help with. and I'm not trying to say they're going to fix us, but I'm hoping they're going to fix us, you know? Is this in the United States?
Starting point is 00:44:30 Yeah. Oh, okay. I know. So I'll have a full report afterwards. I have a really good friend that's been to this place, and he recommended it, so I'm going to go try it. But I really don't really know what to expect at all. I'm kind of going into it a little blindly,
Starting point is 00:44:47 just kind of trusting him. Yeah. But I feel like it's going to be good. and I should have a lot to report to the YF tears once I'm done. Well, good luck. Yeah, thanks. That's what I'm doing. Nice.
Starting point is 00:45:00 And then I'm going to go get fucking health and wellness out my ass and then I'm literally the next day that I get home going to Montauk to play another show. So I'm going to go detox and get healthy only to go to Montauk and party. Yeah. But you know what? Balance. Yeah, that's balance, baby. Balance.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Yeah. What are you doing? I'm going to Missouri on Thursday. to play golf with Ben Higgins and company. That sounds fun. It'll be fun. We're going to Branson. We're going to Paines Valley.
Starting point is 00:45:31 I used to go to Branson all the time with my dad as a kid. He used to play the casinos. Oh, yeah. My bet. So fun. Yeah, Branson. So I'm doing that. And then I'm coming back and I'm going to kind of slow it down
Starting point is 00:45:42 because I was just looking at my calendar. I was in England for five days, starting the 13th. I was in Monterey for five days. starting on the 22nd and I'll be in Missouri for four days and I'm like bro you got to you got to stop this right now yeah yeah you're maybe you should go to the place I'm going we'll be talks maybe so maybe so DM us any of you your your comments and stuff will read them on the show or send us some voicemails 858 630 1856 and we'll see you next week see you then okay bye I'm audy Cornish I'm Ari Shapiro and it's engagement party. It is engaged. And we get to talk about what we're obsessed
Starting point is 00:46:27 with, what we're engaged with, what we need to process with a friend. Big question. Are we running out of protein? That was a question that the Atlantic recently posed. Wait, I want to share my headline. No way. Get it? W-H-E-Y? Like you clear in both physical and psychological space for that joke. Follow engagement party. Wherever you get your podcasts.
