This is your transformation station.
And now your host, Greg Favaza.
I was just talking to my significant other, and a good point was brought up that,
well, I brought it up, but I felt it, is that I haven't really taken a moment with myself
to acknowledge everything that's been happening, everything that's been going on.
Like, let me paint you a picture.
of my busy life and what I'm trying to do, my intentions. Firstborn, father of a firstborn,
he's seven months now, Garamon Favaza. I love him to death. He's smart. Oh my God, he is so smart.
Also, fathering blended family, my stepdaughter and girlfriend, and father of a Labradoodle.
as well as first time home owner.
And I'm trying to develop and get a business going with my podcast, trying to monetize.
And I've been doing this for two years.
In this time, I thought it would be easy.
I thought it would be you just grind it out like my previous military experience taught me.
You put in enough hard work, the results will show.
Yeah, through physical fitness, definitely.
on the other hand
trying to establish a business
yeah the more I grind
the more I'm letting myself go
and I've only made
two steps forward
but then three steps backwards
by recovering from the nonstop effort
that I applied in the beginning
and I'm getting on here right now
for us to
together is to kind of acknowledge
what we already achieved
If you've gotten the house, if you just moved into a new apartment, if you're already a parent of your children, and they got to this certain point, when was the last time you really stopped and said, damn, I've gotten this done. I've achieved this already. Now, when we're stopping and we're looking at that, where's your time really going to? I know where my time's going to. It's been directly.
focused on my schooling. I'm getting my bachelor's degree by the end of this year in organizational
leadership. And then my other half of my time is going into this podcast, who I can get on the show,
what we can talk about, how I can frame it, and what can we do, what I can do to entertain
everybody that's listening. I mean, there's nothing better than getting a smile or a laugh
out of my humor.
At the same time,
inspiring somebody to take action,
but also to give you relevant
key factual knowledge.
The majority of my effort
has been going towards that,
and then you look around
and realize that,
shit, I need to cock.
I haven't cocked
some of the cracks that are coming in
of this place that I bought
or brushing my Labradoodle.
I used to do it once a week.
Now it's like in once every two weeks you sit in here right next to me.
Her name's Barley.
Yes.
A baby.
Or what about actually going, doing something unique and special with the children like I used to?
Every two weeks we would go to a different park or some sort of family outing just to recalibrate our connection.
Have you guys been doing that?
Have you been making the same mistake as I have?
Letting that go by the wayside because my thought on priority was what's going to make us money,
what's going to satisfy the long term by applying these things short term.
I mean, logically, I thought that's the case.
but then I'm seeing the bigger picture that long term
I can see depression coming in
where let's say I continue this,
let's forecast this a little bit,
let's say I continue this path,
I keep doing what I'm doing two more years.
Now I see my relationship with my girlfriend
being further spread apart where we're not as close as we used to be because I applied work
in schooling priority over family.
Now, about the relationship with my stepdaughter, definitely there's going to be a lot of
fucking work with that.
I mean, there's a work already involved in just that, being a father for her, a father figure.
And what about my firstborn son?
I don't want to redo the generational curse.
I don't want to continue that.
I will not.
That's definitely on my values.
I will not repeat fucking history with my son.
But I'm bringing this up to raise the question if you guys are doing it or you think that you're not because you have these strict guidelines.
in your values, in your character, your morals, whatever you want to portray this, and you
have this dead in your sights that I will not be like my parents, but do you think there's a
possibility that you haven't taken a moment to look and see at what you're doing? Is it still
relevant and is it possibly conflicting with what you intentionally wanted to do in the
beginning at the point you are now might be going backwards. That's what it is for me.
I see that. I can see that because I had a lot of trauma. I was able to dissociate. I was able to
reflect. That's a lot. Years. I know it's unique where I can catch when I'm falling off course
almost instantly. Can you guys do that? Are you able to?
Do you even know where to start if you didn't?
I'm not going to tell you to journal or meditate.
Yeah, we can Google that.
That's fantastic.
But what I can do is I can illustrate in my behavior, in my story, and paint you the picture of what is happening right now.
That is happening.
That is real life shit happening here and now in my life.
I'm choosing to see it.
I can argue this in five different ways.
if I want to.
I know 10.
I can say no, I need to work because that's what's going to provide for my family.
Thus, that becomes a priority.
Or I can acknowledge that, hey, this is not bringing in the income that I wanted.
Now I need to pivot.
Or I need to stop and reassess and see what is falling on the wayside.
And isn't that a possibility that is affecting me from growing the business in the first place?
I love to question my questions.
I always like to forecast and see if there's a possibility if this logically makes sense,
but then deep diving into the contextuals of what if I did this, what would happen now from that direction?
Where do we go?
All these decisions that I'm referring to are funded by a system of,
principles that I have developed over the years. Yes, this is experience. This is history.
I built myself off of these principles that I'm illustrating to you in my decision making.
Do you recognize that in yourself when you make a decision? Or do you just drive off impulse?
Fuck no, we don't drive off impulse. I know we all are able to make
some sort of rational decision in what we do because we're human.
That's how we survive.
But is your decision-making process supporting your long-term goal legitimately?
Is it legitimately doing that for you?
You think it is.
But the only way to really tell is look at what's falling on the wayside.
Stop for a moment.
longer than that and address some of the things that you haven't and then let that feeling come in.
Is it like a endless pit in your stomach of free falling?
Or do you feel solid?
You feel like a tornado can come in and wouldn't knock you over.
If it's the second one, then you're on the right path.
However, if it's the first one, there's definitely some shit that you need to deal with.
Feel it.
Don't just think about it.
That's where your intuition will come in.
