Good morning. Welcome to Your World Within Daily. I'm Eddie Panero. And on today's episode, we're going to touch base on the coronavirus quarantine and talk about three mental shifts that will help you through. All right. Good morning. Good morning. Sun is coming up. Middle of the week. Life is good. Thought we could chat a little bit about the coronavirus quarantine, something we're all going through. And, you know, news has been kind of hopeful.
It's been, you know, in most places, cases are leveling off, winding down.
We're talking about strategies to reopen and get life, you know, maybe not back to exactly how it was,
but closer to that than this.
And that is a hopeful, inspiring thing.
But we still have a little bit of time.
And, you know, time equals opportunity.
And I wanted to talk about, you know, three ways to potentially help push you through.
Through to that light at the end of the tunnel, you know, I've certainly been inspired by hearing how other people have handled this and made some changes and done some things.
And I wanted to talk about the three things that I find most valuable during this time that you can implement into your life, however you see fit.
So here are three things to help push you through.
The first is quite simply wellness, mentally and physically.
What's one thing you can do in each of the?
those categories to improve your wellness. And the way I'm looking at it is pretty simple.
It's like, you know, you want to be able to insert things into your life that help you cope
with now, with the present, the trying time that we're in so that you can effectively manage it
and be more calm and relaxed. But also, you know, build habits for the future because ultimately,
you know, this won't last forever. That's the reality. And, you know, if not now, then when?
if you know not now when people are at home and there's no appointments we're not traveling if you can't
insert a foundation now when do you insert that foundation right so it's a it's a push and pull it's
both you want to be able to cope with now and you can simultaneously build a staircase to the future
that's why i'm looking at it so i picked one thing mentally and physically mentally it's simply
sitting for 15 minutes and i know that sounds a little
silly, but, you know, I do most of my thinking when I'm running. I'm listening to audio books and,
you know, diving into plans and ideas and a very go, go, go mentality. And sometimes I forget
to just tone it all off, like shut it down and chill out. You know, grab a cup of coffee
and don't have any expectations. Just be. And so part of it's knowing yourself, right? Like Aristotle
God else says wisdom is, you know, knowing who you are, knowing yourself.
That's the beginning of all wisdom.
So whatever that is for you, find it, you know, and it doesn't have to be big.
It's small.
10 minutes, 15 minutes, but spend some time there.
And then physically, again, as a runner, it's very specific to me.
Something I neglect that I should never neglect is foam rolling.
It's just, I'm always injured, I'm always tight.
And it's because I don't do these little things, like spend 15, 20 minutes simply
phone rolling. So audio book on,
phone rolling, killed two birds with one stone,
makes it less boring, less monotonous,
and I get it done. So there you go.
There's both mentally and physically,
I've improved my wellness and I'm building wellness habits.
I feel really, really good about that,
and you can do the same. That is pillar number one.
Number two, something I talk about all the time,
creativity. And there doesn't need to be any expectations here.
I just feel like we discover so much.
much about ourselves when we dive into this.
You know, the stuff that we've always wanted to do that we don't because it's like,
well, what's the value?
What's going to happen?
I mean, it's a waste of time.
X, Y, Z, whatever.
Just no expectations diving in, trying something, you know, exploring a little bit.
You really do uncover things that you don't let go of.
You know, it's exciting stuff and becomes a part of you.
For example, I love aesthetics. I'm a sucker for, you know, telling stories, visually, cameras, you know, different lenses, setups, whatever. And I was just messing around with lighting and I found a really cool idea that would, you know, be a good studio setup. It changes the whole dynamic of, like, I wasn't even really going to do much with the visuals of this podcast. Now I'm like, wow, I could make it something fun and really cool for the viewer. And that came.
from having zero expectations just kind of playing around. And so you can see how this sort of bleeds
into everyday life by having no expectations and diving in. So that's number two, your creative space.
And then the last one or the third one is being social, you know, our sense of community connection.
We are social beings. We're wired to be social. So if you neglect that for too long,
there are repercussions that are negative, right?
We feel alone, we feel depressed.
And it's an opportunity to do the opposite, the inverse,
to reach out to people you haven't talked to in a while,
connect, you know, have those family Skype calls,
do things that make you realize as a community.
And friends, family, neighbors, strangers,
the entire world, we're in this together.
And it's, again, it's a positive.
There's a positive there when you're able to connect and talk
and bond and make the most of what we're going through, you know, help lift each other up.
So that would be my third.
Find a way to reach out and build a sense of community, connect with those you love, and
everyone wins.
That is it, my friends.
I want to try something a little bit different over the next few weeks.
My Instagram and Twitter handles, they're the same.
They're at I am Eddie Panero.
I'd love to get your thoughts on podcast ideas.
Maybe things you want to hear me talk about in these episodes, things you value, what you're really enjoying.
Maybe there's questions specifically I can answer.
I just love to get more involvement here.
I wake up in the morning.
I have an idea.
I pick up my microphone and I talk into it.
And it's great.
I enjoy it.
But it'd be really cool to get some interaction and speak directly to what you guys want to hear.
So give me a shout on those platforms.
and we'll incorporate that into the show.
So go out, crush it today,
keep looking for that opportunity,
even when it feels like there is none,
the light in the darkness, the win,
even when it feels hopeless,
because I promise you it is there.
I'll talk to you guys tomorrow.
