Welcome to Your World Within Daily.
I'm Eddie Panero, and in this episode, I'm going to talk about the idea of betting on yourself.
A lesson I learned a few years ago now that really emphasized to me the importance of putting your back against the wall and forcing yourself to level up.
So no one will believe in you until you believe in yourself.
That's a rule of life, right?
You have to understand that you are capable of acquiring more than you currently have.
that means at times the reward of the present moment, you know, whether it's some type of validation,
some dopamine hit, maybe even comfort, pales in comparison to the opportunity of a different approach,
right, of betting on yourself to do something more. And we learn that lesson a few times in life.
It's something that in different ways, you know, I've relearned again and again and again
because you get comfortable and you realize, hey, you stopped, right?
You pulled over here.
You need to keep moving forward and, again, bet on yourself to do something better.
Otherwise, things stay the same.
I want to tell you a quick story about, you know, me learning this lesson.
I wrote a video called Believe in Yourself maybe four years ago now.
It was in Boston, and a pretty big YouTube channel asked me to write a speech for them.
And I said, sure.
And, you know, I was growing your world within at the time, obviously.
But they reached out, and I said, yeah.
And so I start writing this speech.
And, you know, I really like it.
I'm proud of it.
I send it over.
And they're like, this is great.
But, you know, there are some pops and clicks in the audio.
And I'm like, really?
And I take it back.
And I start listening to it.
And I can't really find it.
I make a few changes.
And I'm like, all right, you know, this is, I don't know.
I mean, this is the stuff I record every day.
And it's fine, right?
And so I send it back over to them.
They're like, nope, there's still pops and clicks in the audio.
You need to fix it.
And I'm like, I don't need to do anything.
You know, and I listen to it one more time.
Like, I'm just going to keep this.
Like, keep your money.
I want to put this out on your world within.
Why wouldn't I?
Right?
If I believe in this, why would I sell it?
And I upload it onto my channel.
And it's so funny the way.
things work out. It's one of my most viewed videos. It's got well over a million views. You know,
it's brought thousands and thousands of subscribers to my channel, which, you know, in the big picture,
is worth way more than the money that I was going to get for it. And it's just one of these things
that makes you think, man, I was just going to give that up like that because, again, whether you
realize it or not in the moment you're conceding it's a short-term you know amount of cash as opposed to
something that's evergreen that's growing the thing that you're passionate about that you're immersed in
that you love it seems like a no-brainer um and that's what i mean by things but by having to relearn it
because that same situation shows itself in different ways with different masks concealed you know
and it's almost like you got to peel back the curtain or pull back the curtain
and understand that.
So I love the story, too, of Joe Flacco.
So I'm not a huge football guy, but I watch it sometimes, right?
I understand it.
And I'll give you kind of the Cliff Notes version because I love this.
It was inspiring to me.
So Joe Flacco is, I think you can make a statement that he's an above average quarterback,
but he's not like a Hall of Fame guy, right?
He's not a Tom Brady or Aaron Rogers.
And he has good years and bad years.
And so he was up for a contract extension and basically was offered a lot of money,
arguably way more than he should have gotten for how good he is.
And he turned it down.
And I remember seeing that somewhere and thinking, wow, good for you, dude.
That's bold.
It's a very bold move.
and then what does he do?
He ends up taking this team through the playoffs, outperforming everyone, having some
insane, like, clutch, last minute plays, going to the Super Bowl, winning the Super Bowl,
and who would have thought, made way more than the initial offer, which made him the highest
big quarterback at the time, I think, by far.
So it's just a reminder that, look, no one.
one is going to push you to level up. No one's going to see more in you. No one's going to say,
hey, yeah, this is nice what you're getting right now. But could it be 10xed or 20xed?
Is your toe in the water when you could dive in? It's a question you need to ask yourself.
But generally, it's true to state that more exists if you want it.
more is there if you're willing to take some risk to trust that, hey, you've gotten yourself this far,
you've overcome some pretty, you know, some lows and you've captured some highs and the trials
and the tribulations of life haven't stopped you. You're where you are. You can do more.
Are you willing to? Are you willing to step out and make it happen? And if not, fine, right? But you don't have that
video on your channel that, you know, changes the trajectory of its growth as opposed to, you know,
a one-time deposit in your checking account, right? You don't have the biggest quarterback
contract at the time, right, as opposed to something much less than that, right? So the question is,
how much do you want to push the universe? Because what you ask for tends to be what you get
as long as you're willing to put in the work,
believe in yourself,
and never stop turning those wheels.
