Your World Within Podcast by Eddie Pinero - DON'T FORGET THE LIFE YOU PROMISED TO YOURSELF - Powerful Motivational Speeches
Episode Date: November 19, 2025A reminder that our time here is limited, and that limitation is what makes it meaningful. This episode explores the reality that life is short, that every moment is borrowed, and that the clock is al...ways moving. Instead of fearing that truth, we can use it as fuel: to act boldly, to stop postponing what matters, to love deeper, to create more freely, and to step into the life we keep promising ourselves “one day.”More from Eddie Pinero:Wear the Mindset: agns.lifestyleMonday Motivation Newsletter: https://www.eddiepinero.com/newsletterYour World Within Podcast: https://yourworldwithin.libsyn.com/Stream these tracks on Spotify - https://spoti.fi/2BLf6pBInstagram - @your_world_within and @IamEddiePineroTikTok - your_world_withinFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/YourworldwithinTwitter - https://www.twitter.com/IamEddiePineroBusiness Inquiries - http://www.yourworldwithin.com/contact#liveinspired #yourworldwithin #motivation

One day we will all breathe for the last time.
And that breath will feel just like this one.
Same sunrise.
Same quiet hum of the world.
Same beating heart that doesn't realize it's on its final lap.
And the truth is, that person will be you, it will be me.
We'll be all of us.
See, life doesn't send warnings.
It doesn't tap you on the shoulder before it leaves.
It just stops.
And when I finally understood that, something in me shifted,
I stopped waiting to be ready.
I stopped assuming I had time
because I realized every second we live is borrowed.
Every breath is on loan,
and the debt we owe is to life itself.
If time is borrowed, then I will spend it well.
Oh, how I used to think I was invincible.
That tomorrow was some kind of safety net I could always fall into.
But later is the most dangerous word we speak.
It quietly turns dreams into dust.
We've seen later become never.
And before you know it, the chance is gone.
It's evaporated.
I think about all the people who didn't wake up today.
people with calendars full of plans
messages left unsent
goals halfway written
they had stories that stopped mid-sentence
and somehow me
I got another page
you got another page
that's not luck that is borrowed
time and if time is borrowed
then it must be spent well
see that changes how you move
through the world you stop pretending
you're in control, you stop rehearsing life, and you start living it.
There's an ethos attributed to Native American warriors.
It says simply today is a good day to die.
Not because they were reckless, but because they refused to hold back,
refuse to leave a story half written.
What if we lived like that?
What if we stopped tiptoeing around our dreams like we'll get another round?
If time is borrowed, shouldn't we spend it well?
I've lost people I love, I'm sure you have as well,
and every time it's like life hands me a mirror,
a reflection of how fragile this all really is.
Their absence makes every sunrise sharper,
every conversation more real.
It reminds me that this world doesn't owe me another day.
It's a gift that keeps me.
showing up, whether I deserve it or not. And if it's borrowed, I don't want to give it back untouched.
I want fingerprints all over it. Laughter, tears, mistakes, art, love, all of it. Sometimes I catch
myself looking up at the night sky, stars that burned out millions of years ago, still shining
like they're alive today. And I think maybe that's what we're meant to do here, to shine long
after we're gone.
Leave something behind that outlives the ticking clock.
If time is borrowed, then we must spend it well.
Because one day, the lender will call, the breath will slow, the curtain will close,
and all that will remain is how you spent what you were given.
Did you love deeply?
Did you stand for something?
Did you chase what scared you?
Did you live?
Because no one remembers how long you live,
but they certainly remember how alive you were while you did.
So maybe it's time to stop waiting,
to stop scrolling past your own life,
to stop making excuses for not becoming that person you were meant to be.
The clock is ticking.
The loan is running out.
And that's not meant to scare you.
It is meant to.
to free you, to unshackle you from your fears and your hesitation, your what-ifs.
The lottery ticket is on your person.
It's in your pocket.
You've won.
This is your reminder that you don't own time, you borrow it.
You spend it while you're here.
And my friends, if time is borrowed that it must be spent well with courage, gratitude,
with everything you have,
one day that world will spin on without you.
And maybe that's okay.
Because what mattered most
isn't how long the story lasted.
It's that you told it with your whole heart.
So take your borrowed time
and make it unforgettable.
If time is borrowed,
then it must be spent well.
Hey gang, Eddie here.
So I've been building
something alongside your world within.
It's called AGNS, always grateful, never satisfied.
If you've been listening to the podcast, you know exactly what that's referring to,
that duality of appreciating the present moment, but also not being afraid to ask the world
for more, for diving fully into your potential.
And I'd love for you to be a part of this journey as we build and build and build.
I have a free newsletter, AGMS newsletter.com, where you'll
get daily motivation, monthly challenges, as well as updates on all the exciting things we have
coming around the corner. So if you're so inclined and you'd like to be part of this journey,
I'd be honored for you to sign up. Link will be below. Look forward to seeing you there.
Our lives require failure. Like our lungs require oxygen. And when I find the world around me
lacking in the resources that I need, it's because in so many ways I have forgotten,
to breathe, to step out my walls of comfort and breathe in, lessons waiting to be taught by the
greatest of teachers' life. Life, the unpredictable and often unremarkable miracle, the book that
reveals itself through experience, that tells tales only in hindsight. Our world is a book in
which we choose our own ending, and so we must fail.
Because failing means living, and we were meant to live.
We must fail because every failure is the mark of a poet,
an artist, or an author bringing this story one step closer to its resolution,
continually walking up to a blank wall and making a mark.
A single trivial mark.
A mark that's misunderstood at best, but likely scoffed at, ridiculed.
But each mark gives meaning to the one before it.
These marks, they become chapters, become narrative shifts, become stories.
Every failure you throw against this wall becomes part of a mural.
It's an element of beauty before the work can even be deemed beautiful.
Yet we continually misunderstand.
When you hang your head in disappointment,
when you see only the smudge of paint you through against that wall,
you are oblivious to the fact that you're making something meaningful.
So here is my challenge to you.
I dare you in the midst of the Mona Lisa you are creating to see it before it's done.
I dare you to be strong enough to fail not just once, but over and over and over again,
I dare you to keep your eyes focused, locked in on what's in front of you.
When everyone you know hides their failures, when they scream of every little wind for all the world to hear,
I dare you to understand what they do not, to cherish your failures, to maintain trust in the unseen.
And when all you want is to get there, I dare you to see your greatness before you arrive.
I dare you to look in the mirror and see the hero inside you right now.
I dare you to do that.
I dare you to take your struggle and see amidst the pain.
your purpose, your purpose that will lift you up when you've fallen and will carry you forward
when you're lost.
I dare you to see light when there appears only darkness, and when none presents itself,
I dare you to light the spark, to be the answer you need.
I dare you to stand up to the human tendency to embrace security over adventure and predictability.
over growth. I dare you to walk into the darkness of night knowing that today's unknown
becomes tomorrow's foundation. And when it hurts, like truly hurts when you look around and can't
remember why you began or what's pulling you forward, I dare you to close your eyes and imagine
looking back and thanking yourself for taking this path.
Every low is a courageous step towards transformation, and if you've forgotten that,
I hope this reminds you why it all matters.
I hope you remember why this mark, the one you're making right now,
is part of the masterpiece you've been longing for.
It's taking you exactly where you need to be.
Life is the manifestation of stories.
stories we tell ourselves about the world and our place within it,
rules that we've constructed and we respect we adhere to.
They dictate the outcomes we get.
They become our reality.
Because to establish a parameter means at some point there's a line that we don't cross, right?
And there are obvious lines that we point to and we say no thanks.
For example, our values, right?
I won't do X because, well, it will hurt someone I love?
Or legal parameters. I won't do Y because I know the repercussions, they're too much.
It's not in my self-interest.
And these are obvious. These are talked about. We're aware of these stopping points.
But I want to talk about a different set of rules.
The stories we're writing without realizing we're doing it.
How we think we're running a sprint.
but I have no idea that there's heavy weight on our shoulders holding us down,
and you can't take that weight off if you don't know it's there.
And this all came to me a few months ago.
I was in L.A. for the weekend, having lunch with some incredible entrepreneurs.
They've done some amazing things.
One of them sold a dating app for hundreds of millions of dollars,
another one a health care company, another one had a very successful food distributing business,
and I'm sitting there kind of blown away.
And my priority was to listen, not wrong,
run my mouth or fabricate or impress, but to simply observe what creates this type of result.
I was listening to Alex Mayer, who created Zeus, talk about his upbringing.
He came to the U.S. as an immigrant from Iran and worked his way up from nothing.
It's not like these folks were given the world.
They took it.
And it took me about three minutes to find a commonality in their worldview.
To me, it couldn't be more evident.
It was impossible to miss.
they don't look at life how I do, or at least how I did.
See, the story I told revolved around my parameters.
Sure, I had moments of boldness, I pushed myself, I worked hard,
but I looked at life in terms of what it would allow.
Here's how things are.
Okay, how can I stretch that?
But that's like repainting or adding on to a house that was already built, right?
There's only so much flexibility, so much.
you can do with that. But these guys are going around the table talking like little kids on Christmas,
talking about life like it's a game, talking about opportunity like it's an apple waiting to be picked
from a tree right outside. There was no, what will the world allow? It was with a smile, anticipation,
and self-belief, what can I make? And Alex, who I mentioned earlier, sold Zeus, right,
created Menzerbox, and he loves beef, eats it all the time, right? And so it's become his
his next entrepreneurial venture, a healthy beef stick company, and every thought seems to revolve
around that.
How can he take something he loves and share it with the world?
His imagination is now driving his thought process, which drives his action.
Not parameters, not someone else's reality, but possibility.
See, I left the table with this feeling I've never really had before.
It's like someone tapped me on the shoulder and reminded me of the freedom contained in every
single step. Not flexibility, but freedom, like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. Who cares if you
mess up? Who cares if you lose? Who cares? That's part of this game we're playing. A game where
reality isn't an obligation to be lived, it's an opportunity to be explored. It's not about what you
don't have. It's being grateful for everything that brought you to right now, because right now is
perpetual launching pad.
You know, growth is learning.
And that afternoon, I learned to take life way less seriously.
To enjoy it.
To let imagination drive every step.
Because the difference is some of us build because we don't want to lose.
We don't want us to succumb to fear and not meeting our potential.
Right?
We fear being inadequate, falling short.
We see obstacles.
Some of us.
We build to capture the beauty, the excitement.
That makes the difference.
And look, I'm not presenting you empirical data.
I don't have all the answers,
but I'm willing to bet that years from now, looking back,
that simple understanding will have played a substantial role
in whatever comes next.
The rules changed, and so did the path.
Let's not become so focused on each footstep
that we lose sight of where they're going to be.
They're collectively taking us.
What are you building?
Why are you here?
To play by someone else's rules or to transform yourself and by default the world around you?
See, reality is fluid.
It's malleable and the beauty is in that process of creating a ship leaving the harbor
has infinite possibility.
Unlimited potential and that gives it.
It's power.
There's no right turn or wrong turn.
The only way to lose is to stand still, to think that horizon in the distance is too far or not
for you.
See, a harbor is not a stopping point, it's a beginning.
So take control over that world, push it, test it, see what it has to offer, throw your
interest and your curiosities against the wall.
See what sticks.
See what ignites your soul test the universe because life it rewards the bold.
Those courageous enough to step outside their front door and not follow but design.
Those who know things are the way they are simply because others before them had the courage
to make it so.
Well now it's your turn.
You defeated the one in four hundred trillion.
trillion odds stacked against your birth you navigated through your low points you've done enough to get to
this very moment this instant for the mistakes that brought you here will become the wisdom that leads you
for that takes you to places you never thought possible in where exactly that is is entirely up
Like I said upstairs, it's been an amazing trip.
So last day and gonna make it count.
There has to come a time when it's now or never.
Well, you look at your reflection and realize that the cost of waiting is far more expensive
than the cost of stepping out into the vast unknown.
In every journey, that's when life effectively starts.
But here's why this is so tricky.
What's caught me off guard so many times in my life,
it's the many shapes that wading takes.
See, waiting is not always sitting there
and doing nothing, not at all.
Sometimes, waiting is just the bare minimum.
It's moving forward so slightly
and so slowly that you can essentially trick yourself
into thinking that you're progressing,
into thinking you're making it happen.
When, if you really stopped and looked,
if you were honest with yourself,
if you really took a second to review, to analyze,
you'd see that you're leaving almost everything on the table.
You're not creating progress,
you're dancing with the idea of progress.
Sometimes waiting can mean just going fast enough to not have to look at the fear you're hiding behind.
It's reality, right?
I think it's a very normal thing, but I also think life is too short for normalcy.
I think we can do better than normal.
And I believe with all my heart and soul that the world has for us the spectacular.
Sitting there on the top shelf, waiting for those who can acquire.
the self-belief and the awareness to reach out and grab it.
In how crazy a thought to realize that we could have been sitting next to the very thing
we've needed for days, months, years, but never taught ourselves to extend our hands and
reach.
When I look back the most important moments in my life, we're not tangible acquisition.
and see the flashy things that try and capture our attention, right?
The money, the condos, even social media growth, business growth, whatever it is you're working towards.
Those things are wonderful.
They are benchmarks that hopefully align with your North Star, but they are not the difference makers.
Not at all, right?
They were the byproduct of what really mattered.
They weren't the moments that moved the needle.
My greatest moments were mental shifts.
cognitive transformation.
That's why I do this for a living.
I see how much can change
when we step back and look at life
just a little differently.
It was my realizing
that I was demanding too little of myself.
That the world won't seek greatness in me
until I see it in me.
That shift that pushed me to demand more of myself.
Seek bigger challenges.
Value my work to a greater extent.
Charge more for my soul.
services. And that mental shift is what made some of those externalities possible. It's realizing
that if you want it, more is on the table. That yesterday doesn't define you. That it's never
too late to begin again. That everything you need you have, right? These are the ideas that
truly change lives. They make the difference. And if we don't become aware of these things,
we leave them in the rear view.
We walk right by them.
In other words, the most important moments of my life
were when someone or something shook me
and effectively said, hey, look around you.
If this is what you want, fine, enjoy.
But for your information, there is more out there.
And if you step up just a little,
If you do just a little more, if you pivot and come at this thing a little bit differently,
you will further that reach.
You'll create another ripple effect that will transform your life.
But we must stop and look around.
A good friend of mine, and this is just the other day, right?
We're having lunch.
We're talking about marketing.
And, you know, we always joke that marketing is just a part of the business that I don't particularly enjoy, right?
Necessary, but not my favorite.
And we're going through kind of different strategies, ideas.
And he presents one.
And I say something like, you know, I don't need to do that.
It seems a little over the top.
And unfiltered, he goes, man, you're hurting your reach.
Like, what good is that metaphorical restaurant that's not on anyone's radar?
you're going to be the best pizza shop that no one knows about and it just kind of hit me right it's like man
i needed to see that differently maybe there's room to be a little more aggressive again one
example of many and not every time is the idea or opportunity the right one or necessary one right
but at least you stopped at least you thought about it at least you contrasted where you are
with the potential upside of doing something differently.
That is where we leave opportunity on the table.
You know, we most often, myself included,
paint regret as this,
the result of this blatant walking away from something.
A deliberate declaration, sort of a,
oh, no, I'm not doing that, no way.
And sure, sometimes that's the case.
Sometimes we're cognizant of our fear
and decline to move forward,
but I wonder how often our neglect
or refusal is softer, more subtle.
I wonder how much of our regret
comes from simply not stopping and looking around,
not letting in alternative points of view
that challenge us and force us to level up.
How much of our regret
comes from simply not understanding
how short life is
and how quickly time passes us by.
And if we don't create some abrupt change in our day-to-day,
if we don't manufacture some momentum in our lives,
even when it feels least ideal to do so,
the ship we needed to be on will sail away without us.
So think back to your hardest days.
even the ones that took you out, that brought you to your knees,
and realized that you survived every single one of them.
You have, for years, been acquiring the armor,
piece by piece, to move into something bigger.
You've been learning.
You've been evolving.
But today, what about sitting down with yourself
and having the discussion you've done.
don't want to have, but need to have. What about asking if it's time to leap where you once
step? To run where you once walked? What about taking a good look around and asking why you're
living in ways that don't serve you? Why you're conceding so much of what matters. Again, the
evolution you want and need is there. It's always there. And that's the key takeaway here.
It will always exist.
But the question is, will your commitment to stop, to think, and to reach for it be there?
Years from now, looking back, I think we'll find that our willingness to ask those questions mattered more than we could have ever imagined.
That silence often implies the lack of adversity needed to evolve.
because the reality you want, it doesn't come to you.
You must go to it.
And that means re-approaching today's normalcy and comfort,
seeing those things for what they are,
a continuation of the status quo.
Nothing changes until you change.
So take a look around, examine those pillars holding up your worldview.
Not once, but over and over again.
And if one, many, or all of them must be knocked down, then so be it.
The point here is that you can build.
The point here is that life happens on your terms, whether you realize it or not,
that doing nothing is accepting what things are.
It's a head nod and a thumbs up to reality as is.
So again, ask yourself what you want out of life.
And if you are missing that mark, tear down.
what must be torn down.
It might be hard now.
It might hurt now.
It might be uncomfortable now.
But when you're eventually standing upon an existence
that aligns with who you are and what you want,
you'll see how necessary it all was.
How it was there the whole time.
And thank God you found it within your
self to reach out and take it.
How do you visualize the road you're on?
With its twists and turns, smooth terrain, rough terrain, straightaways, hills, what is it all mean?
Do you find it odd that it gets more challenging as you get closer to your destination?
Right?
The further along you get, the more tension life puts between you and the finish.
line. Almost like the universe is adamant about weeding out those who think they can skate by.
What is the difference between saying you want it and really wanting it?
Perhaps it's a willingness to fight through a storm just for the opportunity to find calm
and serenity in its center. This morning, as the sun was coming up, I went for a run.
A nice five mile run down the coast, and the way I planned it out was simple.
2.5, or halfway up, in soft sand, and then I'd stop, and I'd turn around, and I'd run 2.5 back, but on the harder surface, right?
Easier to handle, almost like a reward for pushing myself on the way up.
And things were going perfectly.
I made the 2.5 mile run up, and when it came to stop and turn around,
I realized what should have been obvious from the beginning was high tide,
which means I didn't get that hard surface to run back on instead.
Not only was it softer than the way up, but I was running on a slope.
And that just threw my mind for a loop, right?
I'm embarrassed to admit I was actually angry about it.
You know, I pushed myself hard going up and wanted that breather.
Almost felt like life pushed the finish line back 2.5 miles.
And trust me, as I'm writing this, it seems ridiculous to talk about.
But in the moment, just irrationally annoyed.
That was the carrot that had been chasing the whole time.
So I begrudgingly, you know, moved forward, kind of trying to figure out what to do.
And ultimately just continued forward and, you know, the emotion subsided.
And as usually happens, you pull yourself out of the weeds a little bit.
The big picture tells a different story.
Different story means different perspective.
and that's what I came across, right?
This idea or this question, well, why do we expect life to be flat ground?
Why was that my assumption to begin with?
The easy to navigate path.
Why is that the standard?
And the more I thought about it, right?
The more I wondered if that's the very reason why we underperform.
It's the little spark that ultimately lights this wild,
fire of regret. Because when convenience is the standard, everything else becomes unfair. Everything
else is a burden. When the road should be flat, what are we to make of the hills in our path?
Thinking life should be easy, it provides oxygen to a victim mentality. And sometimes it takes these
little experiences for me to refocus on these subtle realities. The flat ground is not the standard. It is
earned. It's a gift. It should be cherished and appreciated because guess what? Life wasn't easy.
It isn't easy and it never will be. But I believe the differentiator is knowing that.
So I kept running on the slope, feet sinking into the sand. I got my teeth kicked in just a little
bit longer and life didn't end. In fact, I think the mental aspect was tougher than the physical.
We're only talking five miles here. But when the standard
changes, so does the performance. It's about just moving forward. And like poetry, with about
three quarters of a mile left, right? The beach widened. It leveled out. The ground became harder.
Each step became easier. And yeah, I was running. But in my head, it felt like I was lying
on a bed of feathers. Because when you prepare to face life's demons, when you're ready for
battle when you anticipate you'll have to give everything any adversary that falls short of that
feels like wind behind your back we can endure anything the question is whether or not we put
ourselves in position mistakes they don't define us heartbreak it doesn't kill us and criticism it doesn't
shape us, but I'll tell you what.
The fear that they do stops a lot of people from becoming who they're capable of becoming.
Panicking at the slightest sign of discomfort, moving away from anything but the convenient,
when in reality, inconveniences are the path.
As Dray and Holiday famously put it, the obstacle is the way.
See, satisfaction, it doesn't even exist without a will to overcome.
What meaning does the finish line have without miles of self-doubt and questions and fear and dragons being slayed while you prove to yourself over and over again that you know what?
I am more and I can be more.
And the crazy thing is that there's not even a.
stopping point here. This rocket will propel as high into the ether as you choose to take it.
And look, it's not about running on slight inclines or sinking a few inches into the sand.
It's not about being rejected, losing or castigated by seven billion self-interested souls.
No. It's about not being scared to take the bridge that connects current.
current, the future. Complacency to recreation, the known to the seemingly impossible. You're made
of so much more than you give yourself credit for. You are so much stronger than you think you
are. So for yourself and for the world, capture that. Own it and redefine what it means,
exist but to your core with every ounce of your being your soul every fiber in your body to truly live
