Good morning.
Your World Within Daily, Episode 1.
I am Eddie Panero, and I feel like right out of the gate,
we already have a ton to talk about.
This is by far one of the strangest,
strangest things I've ever lived through,
and every single one of us globally, right?
We're all in this together, same exact boat.
And I think a question that needs to be asked is,
how do we salvage this? How do we find the opportunity in this in such a pressing time,
such a down time? Because let's face it, the news cycle is just beyond depressing. The economy's
crashing before our eyes. I have both friends that are getting laid off and friends that are
laying off people in their companies. People are seeing their savings sort of slip away. It's a lot of
stuff that makes it feel like, you know, a huge step back for a lot of people. And that makes me think
there's got to be something here, right? There's always, there's always opportunity. Sometimes it flashes
out at us, right? Sometimes it's so apparent you can't miss it. Sometimes you really have to dig for it.
And I'm certainly not undermining the situation.
You know, I get how devastating it can be for some people.
But there's a certain truth to every situation, no matter how good or how bad.
You can dwell on what's gone, on what you lost, on the negative, or you can look really hard for a win.
You know, I've been, like everyone else, quarantined kind of.
It's been a very slow couple weeks.
And my thought is, why not use this time to double or triple down on what's worked in the past?
You know, imagine looking back right now at this time, with the COVID-19 hiatus we all took for however long it is.
pointing to that and saying that was the stretch of my life where it all began.
That was when I started that new career or I started that passion, right?
I put the wheel to the road and I began.
It all started there.
Like this can be a launching pad for something spectacular.
I had a family friend.
this is before the corona situation, but he lost his job. And he's all upset. His pride was hurt.
You know, you don't feel good about yourself when you're let go or you're fired from your job.
And I'm like, yeah, well, you can look at it that way. You can look at it as, you know, wow, I have this.
It's gone. This defines me. Or you can look at it as a situation that, you know, quite literally few people.
people ever get a blank slate the world is yours kid go get them there's nothing holding you back
you're tied to nothing today is the beginning of the rest of your life what i realized and that's why
those of you that follow me on youtube or spotify you hear me talk about this so much that very first
adversity, right? I've certainly experienced a lot since then, but the first time shapes you
when I worked my whole life up towards this corporate trajectory, right? And I have this job
and I'm right where I thought I always wanted to be. And I realized that it was just,
it was crippling my creativity. If I stayed that route, it would not have, have, have,
fulfilled me. And it was the first time I put my back against the wall. First time I said, look,
you don't have a safety net. Now act. Now see what happens. That is when you truly grow because you're
not confined. I didn't have that identity of someone in corporate America, someone looking to
climb the ladder. No, now it was you are whatever you decide you are, go.
and that's what I told him.
It's like, yeah, you lost your job, but my friend, you won't be looking back 20 years from now and saying, man, if only I had that job, right?
That's not the way it works.
You have a gift.
And I think where I'm coming around to is every single one of us in some capacities at that crossroads.
We always are every day, but right now more than ever.
there's something here.
There's something here.
There's something you can do to propel yourself.
There's something you can do that 99.9% of the world watching Netflix wouldn't even consider.
But that's the difference.
Warren Buffett, and I'm not going to try and quote it exactly because I don't really remember,
but the idea is, you know, when people are running away from something, it's a great time to run towards it.
when people are running towards something probably makes sense to step away.
Why?
Because there's such value in being cognizant of the herd mentality and making the opposite decision.
Most people right now are scared.
Most people right now are in their heads victims.
Most people are wading this thing out, putting their life on hold and saying, hopefully, when things get better,
I can pick back up where I was.
Right?
They're hoping for a net neutral.
But the minority, right, the best, the elite,
the ones who will make a difference say,
no, while everyone else is in that mindset,
I can become something from this.
This can define me.
This can be the reason I look back years from now,
a different person.
So I'll leave it there.
I hope you're cognizant of that.
I hope you're thinking today.
Not, oh, man, the world's falling down around me.
But as things fall down, how can I pick these pieces, take these pieces and build something spectacular with them?
This is not a hiatus.
This is not the end.
This is the beginning.
