You might not realize it yet, but you want more.
More to carry, more to solve, more to prepare for.
And I know, I know the brain goes,
I actually like the calm.
I don't mind not having very much to worry about.
I love these days with the clear schedule and no obligations.
But the reality is your soul craves weight to carry.
It just craves the right weight.
That's why so much of life is allocated to understanding and finding the things that matter to you.
Because once you've done that, you can spend the next chapter pursuing those things.
It's always been funny to me how easy it is to trick ourselves into thinking,
we don't need growth.
We don't need exploration or adventure.
We're fine where we are.
Because doing nothing feels good in the moment.
No different than fast food or donuts and ice cream does.
But it's stacking those things up every day.
Those little nothings.
Those concessions.
Making their concessions.
consumption, a habit, you find yourself over time lost and living a fraction of the life that
you're capable of living. Doing nothing feels good. Because in the moment, easy feels good.
I mean, right now, if someone asked you, would you rather pick up 400 pounds or not?
Easy one, right? The brain goes, I think, not. Boom, easy W. Keep living your life.
But you make that decision every day.
All that short-term pleasure and escapism just means less strength and definition and growth
than if you were to do the difficult thing.
If you were to do the quote-unquote heavy lifting.
Now imagine the journey of betterment.
Imagine choosing to lift that weight, real or metaphorical.
Every day.
Well, I'll just lift the 400 pounds.
I'll take the trip.
Accept the challenge.
Do X, Y, or Z, right?
The incremental progress, it starts to excite you.
You feel the momentum.
You start wondering, okay, well, how can I be better at this?
You start pulling other aspects of your life into that orbit.
Oh, maybe my diet and my sleep will help push me full.
Oh, maybe if I surround myself with people who have answers,
or who light me up, that'll help push me forward.
You start seeing physical changes in the mirror.
You start looking around and seeing your world changing.
You start believing as you earn that confidence day in and day out
that you're not the type of person who just sits back and accepts reality.
You have data.
You have proof to your left and you're right.
you have proof in the mirror.
You are the type of person who changes that which you are not willing to accept.
You are an architect.
And just imagine with me, the liberation of being on a journey that ignites your soul,
where every day is a puzzle to solve,
another chapter in the greatest story of a lifetime.
Imagine reinforcing every day that you are the kind of person who changes things.
who gets up and does the difficult thing,
and because of that is ultimately powerful.
Imagine choosing that weight of some sort.
The gym, the job, the business, the relationship, the creative idea, whatever it is.
Imagine putting that thing on your back and marching into the unknown.
That's a trip that will change your life.
Doing nothing, on the other hand,
well as I previously stated
seems to just string together temporary pleasures
until you're forced to look around at the void
that it's all created
right to do nothing is in fact a decision
it is a choice
choosing stagnation
choosing what ifs
choosing regret
and that'll be yours
until you're forced to look into the mirror
and acknowledge perhaps the great
greatest superpower you possess has been left on the shelf.
At some point, you need to reach over and pick it up.
And that's what it all means, right?
That's what this message conveys.
It means in you exists the capacity to change yourself and the world.
In you exist the capacity to do the incredible.
I'll go as far as to say the miraculous.
But you must first navigate beyond the quote-unquote
nothing.
You must first understand
that procrastination
and stagnation,
they're killers.
I'm going to use a cliche here because
well, cliches
seem to do their job of simplifying
the complex.
So let's take a big name.
We all know Michael Jordan, one of the best
basketball players ever. We all know how
great he was. We all know how hard he worked.
But it's interesting to imagine him
choosing nothing over the path he chose.
It's almost unfathomable, right?
Imagine him choosing the TV over basketball.
He would have been depriving himself and the world of greatness.
Imagine him choosing video games over sculpting his body and improving his athletic performance, right?
But he didn't do that.
He chose to carry the weight.
He chose to carry the burden of excellence.
He wasn't perfect and no human beings.
beings are, but he was focused and willing to trade many of the common everyday pleasures
we all know for greatness.
And I believe you have MJ level talent in you.
And that's not fluff kindergarten teacher, kumbaya stuff, right?
We're all great at something.
We can't all be NBA all stars.
But we all have our thing.
And more often than not, that thing is just left.
alone. It's left untapped, undeveloped. For you, maybe it is athletics. Maybe it's not.
Maybe it's debate. Maybe it's mathematics. Maybe it's videography. Maybe it's, I mean,
anything, collecting, studying selling baseball cards. Maybe it's poetry, data analysis.
Beauty, the fashion industry. Maybe it's cooking. Maybe it's telling jokes.
Like, you get the idea. You have a thing. A proclivity
is something that you both enjoy
and you have a natural,
biological tendency and desire to pursue.
But are you willing to carry the weight required
to make that thing special?
I mean, to me, that's the question.
Are you willing to be a megaphone to the world?
Ah, but that won't be easy, right?
It's like, I can picture it now.
Hills to climb, all the things I don't understand,
the criticism.
Who am I to go that far outside the norm?
You are the Michael Jordan of your pursuit, should you accept it, should you green light it?
Because nothing, and I mean this, I believe it wholeheartedly, nothing hurts worse than being a Michael Jordan
who traded the basketball for daily fast food and drinking four nights a week with his pals.
The world won't know what it was deprived of, how could it?
but you will.
And perhaps you already feel that.
And if you do good,
that is your sign.
Because the past has nothing to do with where you can go now.
You can make something special by deciding now,
by cutting away the narratives and stories and limitations
keeping you in place.
So go in this moment.
Towards your horizon.
Carry that weight like it matters.
like it's everything, because time will reveal that in fact it was.
Life is about duality.
It's about being grateful for the road behind you, but also excited and hungry for what's ahead.
That balance is where growth lives.
It's why we created AGNS, always grateful, never satisfied.
More than just an apparel company, it's a reminder that,
that there's always another hill to climb.

In a way, the world is a mirror
that reflects how you feel.
And if life is consistently mirroring back images
that aren't ideal.
Perhaps it's time to chip away,
not at the world, but at yourself.
It's time to work.
And sometimes,
that's roll up your sleeves
and be better work.
Let's get up a little bit earlier work.
It's at the gym, or study,
or give more work.
But sometimes it's acknowledging
that if in this chapter of your life,
You find everything around you intimidating or too distant or out of reach.
It's not because the world is too big, but rather you've let your own image get too small.
It's the identity that needs the maintenance.
We do things because we see ourselves as doers of those things.
Soccer players play soccer.
Writers write.
Painers paint.
No one who's ever identified or introduced himself as a runner.
has ever broken a world deadlift record.
No, runners do runner things.
Bodybuilders do bodybuilder things.
People who view themselves as small do small things
and people who see themselves as capable or strong, daring, adventurous,
larger than life.
Well, you get the point.
We're out there over-analyzing all these details,
trying to decipher code
without realizing that we've already won or lost.
You gave yourself permission to run 50 yards
and then became Sherlock Holmes
trying to figure out why the world wouldn't let you reach yard 51.
We go as far as we allow ourselves to go.
We do as much as we allow ourselves to do.
We become who we allow ourselves to be.
They're not saying the other variables don't matter.
Of course they do.
I'm saying over time those variables become blocks
for us to build ourselves up
or build walls around ourselves that keep us down in one place.
If the world feels bland,
give yourself permission to seek out the beauty.
Be someone who finds joy in life.
If the world feels lonely,
give yourself permission to connect with others.
Be someone who brings people together.
If the world feels chaotic and confusing,
give yourself permission to break it down.
Be someone who turns big things,
into small manageable things.
If the world feels sad and disheartening,
give yourself permission to uncover what makes you smile.
Be someone who in the darkness of night
can find that light switch.
Because for every reason to be sad,
there's one to be happy.
For every reason to be weak,
there's one to be strong,
so on and so forth.
Of course, it's not the easiest to remember
when we look out and don't like what we see.
But knowing that the solution is internal,
knowing that you decide who you are, where you're going, and where you stop.
As much as humanly possible, it puts fate in your hands, which is right where it should be.
That morning, as I looked out the window, I could feel my increased heart rate,
a sense of both excitement and anxiety that you can only really understand if you've lived it.
I was worried about what people might think, what I might lose, what life might have in store for me.
Because that was all I knew to focus on.
I'd programmed myself to do one thing, worry.
And when your one thing is worrying, it's inevitable that you see life through a lens of scarcity.
Your setting is on main.
meaning you protect the little you have as opposed to seeking more.
You play defense to keep the world out as opposed to the offense required to bring the world in so that it may be reshaped.
That morning, cold, wet, gray, I was numb.
numb, but deep down, completely oblivious to me, there was a little fire too small to recognize.
A spark of courage in its infancy. See at that moment, if someone asked me,
can you even be scared and courageous at the same time? I would have said those two words
do not go together. Right? We're talking night and day, fire and water,
black and white, but time's job is to reveal, and it has shown that there is no courage
without fear.
There is no fire, no matter how bright or powerful, that doesn't, by default, bring about those
mysterious shapes dancing in the shadows.
If you want fire, great.
But you must learn to dance with what
hides in the periphery. You must learn to go where your impulse begs you not to. And so that morning,
I went to dance with my demons. What if the one thing holding you back in your life was you?
And look, I know the world is a complex, multivariable, unfair, sometimes even cryptic place.
I've never said anything to the contrary.
But what humans do so well, sometimes for good and sometimes to our detriment, is see life through stories.
Ideas.
And whether you know it or not, you are playing by a set of rules.
Right now, as you take this in, you have defined a set of parameters and deemed them acceptable.
decided they are what you deserve.
You've allowed for yourself a certain level of growth.
A certain amount of happiness,
a certain amount of time to do what you love.
A certain expectation around the role of work in your life.
A certain window of income you've identified as reasonable overall.
A certain feeling you get when you look in the mirror.
And my objective is not to tell you that any of the above,
is good or bad. It's to remind you that they are all stories. Our current state is not
etched in stone. It's clumsily drawn on a dry erase board. Clumsily because how could we know everything?
We learn along the way in a dry erase board because there's never a moment in time in which
you cannot begin again.
about that? Never. Good, bad, or in between, there is never a situation from which you can't
emerge as something different, from which you can't choose to take a different path, change
the narrative around you, your relationships, your job, your goals. But like the elephant
tied to the chair with the rope, one must learn.
that it is not the chair holding them back,
but their perception,
their understanding of a supposed role in life.
So as I drove away that morning,
I wasn't leaving a physical place,
but a mental constraint,
turning my back on a manufactured idea
about who I was and what life would allow,
Not in a snap.
No, not all at once, but an adventure that would begin pulling back the curtains one by one
on all that I'd walked right by.
See, the first step to getting more is understanding you've been accepting less.
That is where new roads present themselves,
and it is that new road that I want for you.
that understanding that so much will be given to those with the courage to ask.
So as you stand now, examine what you've been asking of life.
My hunch is that perhaps it's not enough.
Perhaps there's more.
Perhaps a new chapter is waiting to begin,
and right now is when that first page gets turned.
Joseph Campbell says that the cave you fear holds the treasure you seek.
Why? Because to face the dancing shadows is to gain power over them.
It shows our mind that reality is far less scary than our perception of reality,
that no chain or lock or wall can be more debilitating than the mental constraints we create by our
ourselves in our heads. It shows that the man guarding the door can just as easily be the one who
unlocks it. And so what better a time than now to turn that key? To step out and confront what was
once nothing more than a vast emptiness. Jump into the cold water of opportunity that shocks us at first.
creates pins and needles and discomfort, but ultimately provides a chance to acclimate to and navigate a foreign world.
You, you just need to jump and not a mountain, but a foot.
Enough to start earning that confidence, creating that self-trust, believing in yourself.
So drive away.
to the understanding that there is always another level if you want it
to the belief that nothing is outside the realm of possibility those boundaries can be
redrawn to the idea that no one tells you who you are or what you're capable of the world
doesn't give orders it reacts to who you decide to be to the awareness that possible
victories always outweigh in magnitude the possible defeat. To the realization that who you were
yesterday is in no way related to who you can be tomorrow, all chapters end and you decide when that
happens. Everything else belongs in the rear view. Success is knowing this. It's believing it,
holding on when others would let go, be reassured by the incremental,
nature of what's ahead. Zero miracles. Just the courage to begin. Just push the ball down the hill.
Give life a chance to help you create momentum. No more thinking, worrying, procrastinating, just go.
It's incredible how fast things change when we grant ourselves that freedom. When we see all of the
world is open to us.
But will you open your
mind to that opportunity?
I've said this before and I'll
say it again, nothing
is sure in life.
But you are guaranteed to lose
if you don't go.
It's to let falsehoods
and debilitating stories
guide your way.
So stop letting these narratives
tell you who you are and
create reality with your
feet. Why? Because
You can because you were meant for more and because more starts now.
If there's time, then there's time to turn things around.
If there is a tomorrow, then there is hope today.
The only have-to-bees in life are the ones we prop up and adhere to.
And how interesting that oftentimes we don't even realize we're the ones holding them up.
There's a simple question that I like to ask as the sun comes up in the coffee bruise.
Am I living today like it's an obligation or something more?
Is it an automatic continuation of the past or a methodical move towards a future that lights me?
up. And these aren't small distinctions. Right. I've lived both ways. I've felt what it's like to feel both.
I remember going to work and joking around that a flat tire would be a real treat. That's not accountability.
That's not control. That's essentially living life as a jellyfish floating along with the tide.
And while the lack of required output innovation and planning may have felt like a win in the moment
or a burden lifted off my shoulders at the time,
deprived me of that which resides in the soul of every human being alive.
Purpose.
Personal agency.
See, you can only go so far, so long being the spectator of your own journey.
You can only go so long looking out the window before you wonder just what it'd be like to be behind the wheel.
When we put our actions up against the question why, it astounds me how many things are done because it's what we've always done.
We act like we're expected to act.
Think like we're expected to think, see who we're expected to see.
But expected by whom?
Some of my greatest breakthroughs in life emerged after being asked,
why, by people I look up to or respect?
Why have you accepted that?
That's your income?
Okay, great, but why?
That's how you spend your day?
I see, how calm?
And when one is tasked with looking at their own life,
through a magnifying glass.
Some hidden truths always emerge.
It shines a spotlight in the corner of the room,
illuminating those shadows where one can,
if they look hard enough,
make out the wolf in sheep's clothing
that is the phrase,
because that's how I've always done it.
We get in life what we accept.
We are what we allow ourselves to be,
and if we don't ask ourselves which mountain is worth climbing,
which ocean is worth crossing,
we simply float with the tide.
We're at the mercy of the winds.
We forfeit the mastery over our own lives that awaits
if we're willing to take that wheel and navigate.
So here are a few things to take with you.
First is you are bound by nothing.
The parameters you exist between are of your making.
You can get in that car and drive.
You can walk away and begin something new.
You can entertain that vision
that's been conveniently tucked away
in the back of your mind.
Understand that to not go is fine,
but it's a decision.
And perhaps a decision you'll wish you made differently.
And second, difficult today liberate you tomorrow.
It's easier to observe.
It's easier to say how you wish things were.
After all, stepping out into the fast-paced chaotic world is tough.
It's scary, it's unpredictable, but it's where you find yourself and the path that's calling your name.
It's beyond the pins and needles, emerging in.
as one jumps into the cold water,
that they're able to find that evolution.
If there's time, then there's time to turn things around.
If there is a tomorrow, then there is hope.
The other day, I was sitting in Miami traffic,
looking out the window, and it dawned on me.
How interesting that human beings haven't solved for this.
Like, this is a major annoyance,
in a lot of people's lives.
Now, we put human beings on a rocket ship.
We've navigated them beyond the Earth's atmosphere.
We've landed them on the moon,
but still are unable to effectively get around
between 4 and 7 p.m. on weekdays.
Kind of interesting to realize.
Now, there are very practical reasons for this, sure.
Not to mention people studying and invested in the problem,
and I think most noteworthy,
I'm not even saying one is more valuable than another.
This is merely a thought experiment.
We get the results where we place our attention.
We valued going to the moon.
Because of this, humans walked on the literal moon.
And we're so used to this having happened
that its shock value isn't quite there, right?
But for a species who 100 years ago was traveling by,
horse and buggy, it's pretty impressive.
I just think it's a cool reminder that where we place our focus is where we'll get our
positive results.
We can change everything if we place a spotlight on it.
That begs the question, where are you placing your spotlight?
As John Maxwell said, nobody ever went up a hill on accident.
There was intentionality.
which gave life to focus and action, planning, growth.
We only evolve or we shine that spotlight,
or as I've said in previous episodes or videos,
what you water grows.
I've certainly spent my fair share of time, angry, annoyed
by things that I've, by no coincidence,
given zero effort to fixing.
And when you do nothing to solve a problem,
all you can cling to is the ability to complain about it.
If you're not putting energy and resources there, you most likely won't win.
Some of the best advice I got from a friend a few years back was to highlight the things that matter to you and measure them.
Because this allows you to be aware, to be intentional with your action.
It's deciding which handful of things are going to be your quote-unquote moon landing and then watching over them like they are precious.
Let's say a goal of yours is to increase your net worth.
If you're looking at your bank account every day, you're much more likely to make better monetary decisions than someone who keeps their finances in the dark because they hate thinking about it.
There are deliberate actions that must take place to bring about that change.
When I look at, say, YouTube, I tend to know a substantial amount about my metrics.
Because I really care about the channel and its growth and its impact.
I watch it and I monitor it.
Things dip. I need to know why.
If they took a sudden upswing and they're great, I need to know why.
If success on a platform is my metaphorical moon landing, I'm locked into every up and down.
I have to understand what's going on so I can make the necessary adjustments to grow.
And then when the growth happens after time has elapsed, I can think,
in my own little world, that was space travel.
I was driving that metaphorical horse and buggy not all that long ago.
But I stayed locked in.
And this may seem simple, and it is.
But for what it's worth, my biggest breakthroughs always tend to be.
I've exhausted a lot of energy, and in some cases even paid a decent amount of money,
so learn the simple things.
Nothing is that complicated.
We just think it is.
which is why we do nothing and then complain about the delta between the real and the ideal.
But I'm here to tell you that if you decide on a few things that matter to you
and then measure their progress, allocate the energy to moving along with them,
where you'll be in months or years from now will astound you.
It will be breathtaking.
But you have to be willing to peel back the curtain and immerse yourself in it.
Prove to yourself that, sure, it might feel big and comfortable.
But once you give something that time and attention, it becomes clear pretty quickly how simple it all is.
What's one thing you can do every day in each meaningful category in your life that will get you closer to where you want to be?
If you watch over that process and you adjust along the way, the amount of opportunity available, the amount of change you'll create is unbelievable.
And someday to others on the outside looking in, your progress will seem out of this world larger than life.
It will appear a moon landing.
But you'll know it wasn't the miraculous.
It was just a simple decision to give it time and attention.
You watered it, and so it grew.
