Your World Within Podcast by Eddie Pinero - Most Decisions Are Reversible
Episode Date: July 17, 2020In this episode I talk about our tendency to hesitate, and even become paralyzed by decisions that are ultimately reversible. Very rarely are decisions permanent, yet we treat them as though they are.... Life is short, but we weren't built for perfection...we were built for exploration, so move forward knowing that the obstacles can be overcome, the best days are ahead and no path is permanent.

Welcome to Your World Within Daily.
My name's Eddie Panero, and in this episode, we're going to talk about the importance of jumping into the action we need to take.
We sometimes hesitate on things that are reversible and prevent ourselves from doing the one thing we need to do, put one foot in front of the other.
Good morning, happy Friday.
I hope everyone had an incredible week, and hopefully I can send you off of some interesting stuff for the weekend.
And so I came across a quote today from one George C. Lichtenberg, who I'm not familiar with at all.
But the quote is awesome.
It says, I cannot say whether things will get better if we change.
What I can say is they must change if they are to get better.
In other words, who knows if the change will bring the result that we want, bring the result that we need?
Who knows if the next move is the answer you're looking for?
But what is known, what is definite, what is for sure,
is that some change needs to happen before anything can improve, right?
Some action needs to take place.
If you are immobile, you miss out on the world of opportunity at your doorstep, right?
James Clear has a really cool way of saying, you know, we hesitate so frequently on things
that are reversible, right?
I mean, they're essentially little things,
their details, their projects,
things that are supposed to go wrong,
things that are supposed to collapse around us
and allow us to figure things out
and put them back together,
and we stop, right,
before we give ourselves a chance
to move into that unknown
and sort of rebuild the reality around us.
So I wanted to sort of present that
as the topic for the weekend.
It's like most of the things we do in life, you know, the decisions we make, they're reversible.
And we don't realize that at the time.
But most of the things we do, if they, you know, worst comes to worst and they collapse and everything goes wrong, you back up and you fix them.
You change things.
Right.
And the value, like the quote I just read, is in understanding that and not staying in one place for fear of what it could become, but stepping into that change.
And as James Clear alludes to, if things go wrong, reverse it.
Right.
Life is not as serious.
It's not as black and white as we think it is.
It's made for trial and error.
It's made for exploration.
And, you know, that starts now.
It starts with the action that you take.
That, if it doesn't take you where you need to go, reverse it.
But what if it does?
What if it's the exact thing you need?
And that's the mindset.
that opens doors.
So have an amazing weekend.
