The hard thing brought me through hell, but also to that which exists on the other side.
The hard thing prompted me to question and doubt, but also provided the pieces I used to build my confidence little by little.
It made me ask the tough questions, the ones maybe I didn't want to hear the answer to,
but also gave me the power to transform those answers I didn't like.
The hard thing meant forfeiting being the expert in my world,
in exchange for the role of students in a foreign arena.
Gave me new ladders to climb, new possibilities to reach for.
It showed that true growth requires a willingness to be the beginner.
It took some people out of my arms, my circle, my work, and in some cases my life altogether,
but always seemed to open the door to those souls better aligned,
to those conducive to the journey and the process.
Let's remember what the hard thing is.
Beyond the pain, because we all know it does bring that,
Beyond the challenges, because there are certainly many.
Beyond all that exists the hope and the change and the promise.
Robert Frost says the best way out is always through.
Through because it's the chaos, the haze, the darkness of night that shapes us.
It's in being broken that we learn to rebuild our world with the peace.
and perhaps most importantly.
We learn that such a rebuilding process is possible to begin with,
that the now is not mandatory or permanent.
The hard thing, as it turns out, is nothing more than a transaction.
Turbulence for the view above the clouds,
fear in the moment for confidence in the future.
It's learning that although life sometimes appears to paint a picture,
picture of conformity and helplessness, there's always a path leading to the very place we need to go.
It just asks we find the courage to walk it.
Churchill has said the pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity.
The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.
And this beautiful message rings true.
Because from the difficulty is the advantage.
And sure, our first instinct is to see the problem.
Our eyes tend to initially fix it on that which is unfortunate.
But beyond that is where we get the most incredible things life provides,
as if one is removing the shell or outer layer in order to get to the nutrients in the center,
the ingredients required for growth, the pieces of the pieces.
necessary to experience life at its fullest. And so we must be reminded that those
opportunities, they're not rare, they're not reserved for everyone but you. They just
tend to disguise themselves as the things we're most inclined to disregard or walk by. But
if one finds the courage to move into them, through them, if one can see the difficulty
not as a deterrent, but as a bargain.
They'll be given everything on the other side.
Reality is not changed with the magic wand or the granting of a wish.
It's from staring down the heart thing
and moving directly into it one little step
at a time.
Remember the little thing.
The ones we all come to appreciate perhaps a little too late.
a little too late. That feeling of comfort, our little eyes first understood to be home.
Those little conversations we still think about, the ones that shaped us. Those little stretches
of time we thought would last forever, but to our surprise had a final moment written into the story.
Oh, those little things. I remember going to a concert in high school.
I was at the Orphium in Boston, Massachusetts.
I went with two of my friends.
Had an amazing time in, well, years, and years have obviously passed.
And recently I asked myself, what is it I remember about that day?
Why is it such a powerful moment for me?
And interestingly enough, I don't remember any of the songs that were sung, or how well they were played.
I don't remember what I bought or what I wore or what teenage troubles I was going through at the time, no years later.
I remember how it felt to stand there in the center of that theater.
Color of the lights filling up the room, the bass drum resonating in my chest, aligning with my heartbeat, the people I was with.
And the funny thing is, 17-year-old me had no clue.
He was driving into the city for a night he'd remember.
forever, but not because of the music, no, because of a feeling.
Because he would spend the time with the same people he would have hung out with any way at home.
And perhaps subconsciously I knew, perhaps we all do, but at the time, it all felt like details.
The time they were simply included in the story of buy one, get one, if you will.
Oh, how they hide themselves those little.
things. In a way, it's not too different from the oxygen. We breathe in and breathe out,
intertwined in everyday life, necessary to carry on, to grow, to evolve, yet only missed when it's gone.
We don't think about the air we breathe unless, of course, we are submerged and without it.
So why, why does this matter? Why put this thought to paper?
Well, because to use my previous concert hall metaphor, I've spent so much of my life thinking about the stage presence, the accuracy of the notes, the visual appearances, the wrong things.
It seemed intuitive, overwhelmingly obvious, but now they're just reminders.
How easily we can walk on what matters to get our hands on what doesn't.
Do we know what's important?
Do we know what we hold dear?
Do we think enough about those little things?
Every time the caller ID says mom or dad or nana banana,
when my little brother and sister get new apartments,
jobs, promotions start navigating this crazy world,
every time I open my laptop
and get to bleed my thoughts onto a blank page
over a cup of coffee and a sunrise,
running around random towns across this country with my best friends, bringing ideas to life.
See, the now tells you they are nice things, happy things, lovely things.
But it doesn't let you in on the greatest secret of all.
Those little things just might be everything.
So see them while you're in them and hold on tight.
Being lost is not about what you don't have.
It's about temporarily forgetting what you do have.
Forgetting that contained within every dark room
is a little light switch that hangs within an arm's reach.
And see, the reason this is so powerful,
the reason it's been so important to me,
is because every time I'm in a lull or now,
navigating a low point like we all do, I remember something that acts as that hand to pull me back up.
I remember that everything I need, I have.
See, I used to use the word stock as to imply immobility, being powerless to the outside world,
when in reality, I just had to remind myself that the path to recreation,
is always in front of me.
And the map needed to navigate is always folded up in my back pocket.
In essence, what I learned is that helpless is not a situation.
Helpless is a decision.
And one I'd simply never choose.
Life's challenges.
They are not a display of your insufficiency.
No, they are a reminder of just how powerful you are.
If you never let yourself fall, hit a low, or lose your way,
you'd never get to see the miracle that is your resiliency.
You'd never get to look in the mirror and see the reflection
that is the conqueror of worlds and the slayer of dragons.
You'd never get to climb the mountain from which you'd ultimately
Look down and see a world of your making.
I was once told that to become who you might be,
you have to walk away from what you are.
That maybe I couldn't see it at the time.
But somewhere locked away in the depths of my soul,
existed the spark, the flicker of light
that would change every.
All I had to do was find it.
Those footsteps, they define your destiny.
A symphony that becomes your soundtrack, wind for your sails.
They are the song that will guide your journey.
In your pockets, they can be empty if your heart is full.
The book can be unwritten if you hold the pen.
The pen, the path can be unclear if you just trust yourself.
This is the lens that illuminates your world.
And when you fall, promise to get back up.
When you feel misplaced, remember that getting lost is how you find yourself.
When you're scared, know that it's darkest before the dawn, these are the stairs that will take you.
hire. Tired is not defeated. Wandering is not lost. Vulnerability is not weakness.
Mistakes are not defining. Hardship is not a deterrent. These are pages in the
story you're writing. And it's the story of a lifetime. So pull back the
curtains. Dance in the moonlight, sing at the top of your lungs so that every soul from
here to infinity ignites. Life is too short to miss a moment too beautiful to
overlook and here you are with a map a key and a horizon waving you on. So follow it.
Through the airwaves, past the mountains beyond the desert, follow it until your legs are weak and your eyes wide.
Let it be the song that carries you home.
This is the story of a lifetime.
You were made to rise, to take your pain and convert it.
it to purpose, to take your struggle and transform it into meaning.
In a world of concession of self-sabotage and defeat, you need to rise.
And so it's critical that you look around where you are now and adjust your lens.
It's critical that you see the present moment, not as an ending, the culmination of
wrong turns or broken plans, but as the beginning of what all that will be turned into.
This start of the next chapter, a new road because you were made to rise.
Life has an interesting way of not pushing us to be more until our backs are against the wall,
So we've fallen or found ourselves where we don't belong, but it's down in the ashes that were
presented this blessing, that were given the chance to be more than we've ever been.
You weren't made to look around and call this diminished reality home.
No, you were made to rise.
Life is about decisions, what to accept and what to cut away.
And it's in our moments of distress, we must find our calm.
When we feel low that we must remember the heights we're capable of obtaining.
Look, our greatest invitations, they often feel like defeat, like hopelessness, but see
beyond that narrative.
Look in the mirror and know that what looks back at you isn't the problem.
It's the reason you'll succeed.
Someday you'll see the present as the moment that made you, the days that shaped you,
just as a sculptor arrives at his masterpiece.
So stand up, brush yourself off, and look up because that is where you're going.
Now is where it begins.
You weren't made to accept what is.
You were made.
to rise. Sometimes I wonder why. Why does this season of life feel like it's one undesirable outcome
after another? What happened to the law of average? When is the wind? Where is the light at the end of the
tunnel? Why would I continue going in this direction? When it feels like that spot on the horizon
I've been chasing has eluded me. Why?
Why are my results not aligning with my output?
It's hard to wake up and do this.
It takes all of me to give this much.
Sometimes I wonder where is the delayed gratification everyone speaks of?
Where's the fruit of my labor, the arm on my shoulder that says this is why it was all worth
it?
Why hasn't the payoff shown itself?
Why?
And why does it seem like every curveball materializes at the worst possible time?
Why won't my body cooperate now when I need it most?
Why does my mind play with the worst case scenarios?
Why does an already challenging path have to be more difficult than it is now?
How many ways do I have to feel pain?
Why does discomfort follow me around?
Why won't life let me shake this?
Why?
Just maybe it's to show you how strong you are.
What you can endure.
Because deep down in your soul you know you are the one percent.
Because if you can push through this, you can push through anything.
And I don't know why life.
gives us its lessons when it does why the world seems to stack it on when we're at our most vulnerable
when the ground beneath us is most unstable but if you can find the courage to step back and see this
for what it is if you can hold on to the idea that this is happening for you you'll come out of
this a different person
You don't need to perform a miracle when you're at your lowest.
No, the courage, the power, the strength is in showing up.
You need to continue forward.
Let go of the week, the month, the year.
Sometimes we are tasked with pushing through the moment, the hour, surviving the day.
And sometimes there is nothing more courageous than that,
Nothing more powerful than seeing what it turns into down the road when we look over our shoulders and are grateful we never stopped.
So yes, this season might seem like a non-stop barrage of obstacles and misfortune.
Why?
Perhaps because it's life allowing you to plant your seed now.
So that when spring comes around, you are provided something you've never had before.
You arrive at that spot in the horizon you've been aiming at.
And yes, the results might not feel like they're aligning with your output.
Why?
Perhaps because when the compounding reaches that magical point,
that point of statistical significance,
and the desirable things happen then,
as quickly as the difficult ones do now, it'll all make sense.
You'll appreciate it, value.
you it and be equipped to handle it.
And yeah, life might seem to be throwing you curveball after curveball.
Why?
Perhaps because if you can trudge forward now when your body's tired while navigating the
trials and tribulations of life, when you can bring greatness into existence under duress,
just imagine what waits around the corner.
Imagine how you'll perceive those seemingly impossible obstacles that slow everyone else down.
There'll be nothing more than a cool breeze and a sunny day as you move towards your best self.
Look, it's hard to understand when we are in it.
It's hard to make sense of the dark and the chaos and the hurt, but find a way to remember.
No matter how hard it seems, that this life is happening from the heart,
for you and not to you. This is the seed in the palm of your hand that will mean something that
matters. So hold on. Hold on to see that seed begin to rise from the ground. Hold on to feel the warmth of
the sun. Hold on through the storms of life. They will be why when you look back years from now.
you'll have gotten from life that which was once merely a dream.
In 1519, Ernan Cortez arrived on the shores of Mexico with roughly 600 Spaniards, all of whom
quickly realized that a mighty empire waited for them not too far inland.
And Cortez, inspired by Spain's current golden age and the encompassing sense of ambition,
an adventure that gave life to the whole journey to the new world,
he pushed his men forward into the unknown, ordering them,
as Winston Reynolds writes in his spania,
to destroy the ships behind them.
Symbolizing the valiant push forward with no return,
everything would be on the line.
And over the years, this act has become folklore,
evolved into the famous phrase we all know,
burn the boat
burn the boat
why is this an important idea
well I look at it in very simple terms
doing anything meaningful
is hard
not planning on it
or hoping to do it
but actually
doing it
and when you're in the heat
of metaphorical battle
right when you're on your way
facing the adversity and the challenges and the hardships. Whether it's social, physical, or mental,
that growth comes with discomfort. Our instinct is to want out. When we are in pain, our brain's default is,
how do I stop the pain? And what I've learned is that if you give yourself off ramps,
you'll take them. If you allow for a plan B, it will become more,
and more appealing.
If the mentality is give it your all until it's inconvenient, well, we all know what happens,
right, since excellence doesn't allow for skipping the inconvenient.
When you can't turn around and get back on those boats, you're forced to create outcomes.
Because suddenly everything depends on it.
Does this mindset come easy?
No, I don't believe it does.
took me into my mid-20s to realize,
hey, I'd never done anything without a life-wrapped or a safety net.
I always carried option B, C, and D around with me in my pocket.
And the result was above average at plenty of things,
was great at none.
But when your back is to the wall,
and those demons are closing in,
It's incredible what you can do, what you can create.
You will shock yourself with your competence and your ability, waiting to be unlocked.
Now, I'm not saying keep jamming this square peg in the round hole if you know something's not for you.
I'm simply saying if there is something you want, something that you know in your soul is pulling you in,
and you really want to see that thing come to fruition,
you can't have pre-made off-ramps for yourself
when the inevitable difficulty comes in.
Because it will. It always does.
I refer to those moments as checkpoints,
areas of internal deliberation,
high security, guarded gates, where many arrive,
but few get to pass through.
Not because they couldn't,
but because the cost of access was expensive,
too expensive,
mentally, physically, and socially expensive, taxing.
Most simply say, no thanks.
They get back on that boat, waiting for them by the shore they arrived on
and return to the world they've always known.
The way I see it, this is not about right or wrong.
No, that's missing the point entirely.
I see the question being, how bad do you want it?
A little, a lot.
How about enough to go all in?
Because if you want to see levels of yourself, you never thought possible.
You need to kick the ladder down behind you.
Force yourself to rise to the occasion amidst the chaos.
Map your path straight into the darkness of night.
Not because it's the most convenient.
But because you gave yourself no other choice.
You burned the boats and are content to watch their flames slowly disappear behind you.
As you go where few have gone.
Every single dream, vision, or idea in your life
starts with a simple understanding.
That it's obtainable.
that you can make it real.
That's the beginning of everything.
Self-belief is the gatekeeper that stands between current and future.
See, if you think of reality as these city walls you're living in,
it's not crazy to think that there are going to be people
that only know that existence within the walls, right?
That's what they see, that's what most believe, it's how they live.
It is only self-belief.
a confidence in something greater outside those walls that opens the gate, that expands your reality.
And if you don't believe anything good exists on the other side, why begin?
If you don't think you're capable of getting there, why start?
And this formula is simple, right? Let's not overthink it.
We only move towards outcomes that we believe to be possible.
And that's more important than ability, skill set, strength.
I mean, you name it.
Believing in yourself trumps all that.
Because the person with an inferior skill set, maybe an average natural talent,
but they believe in something and they move towards it.
They give everything for this idea.
They know it to be true.
It will always be the talented person that's unsure.
That procrastinates.
It has one foot in and one foot out.
And if you don't believe in yourself, you're building a city on sand,
because I'll tell you what, great things, they're great for a reason.
They're in rare supply.
They're limited, which means not everyone can have them.
Which means those who do have them have to fight for them.
Have to deal with being uncomfortable.
Have to give more, sacrifice more, pay a steeper price than the masses.
And if you don't look in the mirror, stare at it.
yourself in the face and know you are one of those select few, what's going to happen when
life kicks back in you? You'll fall. You'll resort back to what you know. You'll flee the
battle for safety, security, and comfort. But when you know your movie ends at the top of the
mountain, when you know at the end of the day, you're going to cross a finish line or hold a
trophy your brain internalizes conflict differently very differently for someone with
self-belief obstacles don't make you wonder if you should keep going because you already
know you have to keep going I mean come on you haven't arrived yet there's still a road to
travel no in this situation obstacles simply prompt you to ask how how can I get
through this and that's a small discrepancy that changes everything
Because at some point you'll look to your right and you'll look to your left and you'll find very few people get to the how question
They all stopped at if
I wonder if I can do this I wonder if I'm capable well they'll never know
They'll never see that sunset beyond those metaphorical city walls
Because they never truly believed in themselves they never opened that gate
Look, I went through 16 years of education
Without a teacher or professor telling me Eddie,
99% of life is just believing in yourself
To figure challenges out as they come.
To figure life out as it comes.
That's it.
Only X% make it through law school.
Only Y% succeed at this and that.
That's what you hear.
But no, none of that matters.
It's simple, it's simple, it's simple, most of the world quits when things get challenging.
If you don't, if you have the courage to believe in trust in yourself, you'll succeed.
Why? Because you won't stop until you find a way.
That's the power of self-belief. It's not quantum physics. It's not complex.
You know, at one point, I didn't think I could make a living outside of a cubicle or office building.
than I saw others do it.
And for the first time in my life,
I believed it was possible.
I changed my actions to support my beliefs.
And here we are.
At one point, I didn't think
certain financial goals were reality.
I didn't know about a free, flexible lifestyle.
I wasn't aware of the type of relationships
that would change my life.
Why?
Because they existed outside those city walls.
I didn't believe they were real.
I didn't believe in my sense.
to create them, to make them in my own life.
But with the change in belief comes a change in reality.
You will always follow through on who you believe you are.
So let's go back to that mirror visualization.
At some point today, look at your reflection
and think about nothing but what I'm about to tell you,
everything you need you have.
I promise you, you are equipped to change your life,
your life, the lives of everyone around you, and the world in which you exist.
So take that back.
Feel it and never ask it again.
From now on, the question is how.
Your fate is not a coin flip, it's a puzzle.
It's about arranging the pieces.
And those two eyes looking back at you are more than capable of figuring that out.
Ask simply, do you want it?
And if yes,
open that front door, take that first step, and inject yourself into a journey that will be unlike anything you've ever experienced before.
A journey where you have the answers, the aptitude, and now the self-belief.
And when you find yourself in the lowest of lows or the darkest of nights, find solace in that fact that that will be more than enough to get you to dawn.
This weekend, I needed to shut off for a little bit.
So I got some Chipotle.
Yep, big night.
Picked a random episode of Game of Thrones,
sat on my couch, and I put my feet up.
Apparently, though, the universe had other plans for me
because I swear I was a few minutes in,
and I heard one of the most incredible quotes I've ever heard,
which sent me in 400 directions thinking about how to share it
and delve into it with you guys on the podcast.
So, hey, sometimes you plan to sit there and watch make-believe armies fight,
and you end up instead putting together an essay.
Life in the big city, right?
But the scene I'm talking about, there's a character named Sansa Stark, for anyone who hasn't seen it.
And at this point in the show, you know, she's lost her family, been away from home,
essentially on the run for a long time, sitting by herself kind of sulking, reminiscing,
building a little replica of her old home in the snow
that was on the ground as she sat there.
And basically just to set the scene,
this little kid comes up, stomps on it,
Sonsa gets mad, hits the kid,
she's just devastated by everything.
Exhausted by it all.
And roughly that time a second character walks up,
a guy named Peter Baylish.
And Sonsa, standing up over her broken snow castle,
says,
I was trying to remember what everything looked like.
I'll never see it again.
To which Peter replies,
a lot can happen between now and never.
If you want to build a better home,
first you must demolish the old one.
He's implying that Sansa
might think she wants to go home,
but home is essentially gone.
That place she knew,
that place she wants to go back to,
it's destroyed.
The people she loved or knows.
longer there, she thinks she wants to go back to that place because she's lost and scared
and alone and the human condition is always to return to the comfort of what we left, to recapture
that feeling of clarity. But to truly find herself, what she needs to do is destroy that version
of home and build a new one. To start again, to become something worthy of a new home, one that's
more conducive to life now, which is her character arc for the rest of the show, right?
Slowly evolving into that person. See, life is this interesting cycle of dying and being born
again, of leaving old things behind in order to build anew. The old you can only give
what the old you always gave. So when life demands more of us, we have a real problem on our
hands. What you knew is now insufficient. It's not enough. Sure, it was enough yesterday, but today is a
different story. And we're always put in this situation, where the road before us is asking more of us
than we've ever given. It demands more than we know how to accommodate. This is when it becomes
very easy to misdiagnose home. To think the answer is behind us. What we need is buried
beneath what was.
When in reality, what was is no longer sufficient.
What we really need is to set the past ablaze in order to create space for what must be brought to life.
Home is an evolution, a cycle.
As our world changes, we evolve right along with it.
As old beliefs fall, new ones are built.
As the old way is lost, a new way is found.
By clinging to old, you sent.
yourself to the never, Sonsa was so adamant about it,
that the expense of the infinite abundance and opportunity that's out there.
It's worth noting that the phoenix does not descend from the clear blue sky,
he rises from the ashes.
It's after the old world falls that the new one emerges.
I'm not the same person I was in 2014 when I left what I was doing
to do what I'm doing now.
doing now, that version of me died. And then again, when I packed up my things and relocated my
life and business of South Florida. And then again, when I changed how I positioned myself,
how I thought of myself in the world, and again and again, and a multitude of time since then,
this current version of myself is dying as we speak, making room for the new.
Every time I find myself at a transition point, it's pain.
It's unlearning things I knew to be true.
I was sure of.
It's taking a sledgehammer to the old realities so that new ones can take their place.
So that saying, a lot can happen between now and never.
Yeah, anything can exist between now and never.
The world is limitless between now and never.
if you understand what never means.
Because the old you could never have the things, meet the people, go the places, or become the person that you will be someday.
The old you could never see the world the way you do or the way that you will.
But the old you was never supposed to.
What we once called home, our past, our understandings of life, they were critical, they set the stage for now.
They brought us this strange intersection of who we once were and who we now need ourselves to be.
It's not that crawling on the ground was wrong.
It's that we are now required to grow our wings, to set ablaze the previous parameters so that new rules can be written.
Change hurts, but it hurts far less than carrying the old you into eternity, while infinite
possibility is left on the shelf.
It hurts far less than equating your life now to what's been taken away or lost.
Rise from the ashes of what was.
Life will ask you to be better, more capable, it will ask you for more.
Meet its call.
Over and over again, meet it's true.
It's called.
For anyone willing to let go of the old and give life to the new, a lot can happen between now and never.
Your existence is derived from how you choose to look at the world around you.
Your outlook is either creating you or destroying you.
And we have to be cognizant of the reasons, the explanations, the stories we tell our
We have to be aware of how we rationalize everyday occurrences.
We have to ask, am I seeking out solutions to the right problems?
What's the root cause?
What's the actual reason?
And we all find ourselves in ruts from time to time, right?
We all have low points.
For me, when I'm struggling, it's usually creatively.
Drawing a blank or writer's blog or whatever the case is.
And it's funny, my mind always always,
always goes right to the external excuses.
Instinctually, I start to think, well, maybe I don't have the right technology.
Maybe I'm not in the right place.
Maybe the right circumstances aren't occurring.
But when I force myself to step back, right, and dig deeper and really ask myself,
what's the reason, which is sometimes an uncomfortable thing to ask, you know, I always come
to the same conclusion.
It's not the camera in my hands or the recording software or the mic.
It's simply the temporary disappearance of self-belief.
Temporarily, I forget that I can make magic, that I can change the world with what I have right now.
And so can you.
That is the actual reason.
But I have to peel back the surface.
Because the truth is, if you don't have a good story to tell a $10,000 camera is not going to help you.
You got to learn what captivates, what inspires, learn how to articulate your thoughts and ideas,
Learn how to bring what's in your mind to life.
See, people want to put band-aids on bullet wounds,
and that's not going to fix a thing.
An interesting thing people come to me with.
You know, they're building brands,
creating social platforms, building businesses online,
which is great because it means exposure,
but it also means you're susceptible to negativity
and criticism and haters.
And how particularly initially,
it's emotionally taxing, seeing that stuff, right?
Seeing people criticize your creativity.
And they come to resent the comments.
They come to resent that interaction.
But again, I always go to what is the reason?
And I ask because if you don't go deep,
if you don't find the root cause, you don't fix a problem.
The problem is not the 53-year-old in his mother's basement
trashing your work or your ability.
He has nothing to do with this.
The problem, when you're really honest, is confidence.
It's the ability to understand that a life of,
no risk or criticism is a life of very little reward. And with that realization, the solution
changes. It's not what can I do to avoid the criticism. It's how can I stay true to myself and have
that be enough? Where I can rise above shatter. Where I can be indifferent to naysayers,
because look, expectations don't matter. What matters is your happiness. What matters is
your progress. So fix that. You know, we spend a lot of time adjusting our sales. We spend a lot of time adjusting
our sales, worried about catching the right breeze, getting the logistics right, when there's a
hole in the center of the boat that's taking in water. Let's find out where that is. Let's fix
that. Figure out what the actual area of improvement is. What's the actual reason for not being
where you want to be? And sometimes it's hard. Sometimes it's humbling. But guess what? It creates
the long-term solution. Last year was one of the most challenging of my life.
my life spread very thin trying to do a lot right speeches give keynotes capture video create music
make marketing content to the point where I just felt lost for a while and an easy escape right
the way I rationalized it was well you feel like this just because you're doing too much right it's a
great thing you're ambitious no that's a mask when I became vulnerable when I asked myself
the difficult question when I humbled myself dug deeper
Realize that maybe, maybe you're not doing the right thing.
Maybe you're doing more of what you already know
because recreating yourself is absolutely terrifying.
Because you need to take that next step
and subconsciously you don't want to.
You're scared to.
Now I know what to address, right?
Reasons help shape answers.
It's not more and more and more of what's been done,
but it's reshaping your life,
once or twice or three times but constantly that creates bigger targets that
changes things you know always dive deeper than the surface level because usually
your problems are not the world around you it's not what you don't have it's not
externalities holding you back it's a refusal to look yourself in the mirror and ask
difficult questions you are not a victim you are equipped with every single thing
you need, you just need to zero in on your actual inhibitors and eliminate them, one by one.
I've always said success is three steps. It's recognizing there's better out there, recognizing
you're worthy of pursuing it and taking the leap. So what's keeping you from leaping? What's
keeping you grounded? It's not money, it's not tech, it's not where you started, it's your
mindset. So change how you see the world around you. Life is built by quiet believers. Those who see what is
not and transform all that is. Who poke holes in truth and embrace the absurd. The ones who dream while awake and cherish.
Every see for the quiet believers
It's not about talking
There's nothing to really talk about words are just noise
It's footsteps that inspire
It is the journey that tells the story and what quiet believers understand
Is the subtle line that separates truth and perception
They get that dancing to a beat means sometimes you dance alone.
And as Nietzsche points out, sometimes they're even thought to be crazy by those who can't hear the music.
In this life, no one comes up, places a hand on your shoulder, and pronounces that your future is great.
No one looks you in the eyes and says they can see the life you'll build, money you'll make,
make or shape you'll be in.
No, that doesn't happen until the next life.
The one you've yet to create.
So patience.
Patience, quiet believer, the abstract
is just as real as the hand in front of your face.
Just with a little more road to travel.
The sun is as real at night as it is when it rises.
Things are simple.
not always what they see.
The impossible, the unimaginable.
They're stories, stories that need to be transcribed
from one's mind to the paper in front of them.
They need a delivery mechanism and quiet believers.
They quietly scream with a megaphone
so loud the world can't help but listen
because ready or not it will be
shaped and reshaped again, every moment is a new beginning.
They are the wizards that flew around in a young author's head before she courageously shared
the magic.
The feeling of that game-winning shot, making its way through the basket after school in
a North Carolina driveway.
An entrepreneur starting a bookstore in his garage, but seeing not books, but not books, but
But accessibility, time, a better way.
See, the truth about life is some created and some merely react to it.
And while you, you hold the pen.
So dream away, quiet believer.
Because you have a world to construct.
Mountains to climb.
Oceans to cross and stories to tell.
Believer, today is yours.
And those changes they'll propel you.
The naysayers will inspire you, the stars they will guide you.
Shining bright is a reminder that you are made of the very elements lighting your path.
You are an architect.
Not talking or explaining or promising, but simply showing, leading, earning respect from yourself,
attention from the masses and a place in history because quiet believer looking back if you found
the courage to change even one thing every second will have been worth the fight
Naval Ravikant has said inspiration is perishable so act on it immediately and what he means is
those fleeting moments of excitement where you have an idea, a concept, those must be cashed in.
They must come to life, otherwise they're gone before they had a chance to change anything.
See, what we don't really talk about much is that inspiration is only as valuable as one's willingness
to act upon. Just like a seed without the right nutrients can't grow or a wheel is only useful
once it touches the ground. It's the world able to act upon these objects that makes them
powerful instruments. And so with that inspiration, that momentary jolt you've captured,
The faster you act upon it, the more likely something comes of it.
Inspiration transforms into action, which creates momentum and then more inspiration.
And so goes the powerful cycle we must seek to create.
Inspiration to action, to inspiration to action.
I talk all the time about the myth of perfection.
The idea that the perfect moment is out there,
that someone or something will give you permission.
But no, that green light is self-created.
And when it arrives, don't waste it.
It's not about reaching a mountaintop right away.
You don't need to create the perfect solution right now.
But give yourself a chance to see those wheels hit the road.
Allow that cycle of inspiration and action to propel you forward.
Because so much of life comes down to what you did when that fleeting moment arrived,
what you turned it into if you gave it life.
A lot of people out there think that the secret to life is having the right answers.
But I'm here to tell you it's the courage, the willingness, the strength to move forward before you have them.
To take that little bit of inspiration into the sunset.
Let it mean something.
Let it be a beginning.
So when you look back years from now, you'll see that single decision to act meant so much more than what it felt in the moment.
That single step you courageously took was everything.
