Your World Within Podcast by Eddie Pinero - No Motivation? THIS Is What You NEED to Hear || Powerful Motivational Speeches for Success in Life

Episode Date: December 1, 2025

A reminder that when motivation fades, it’s rarely the world that needs changing, it’s the angle we’re looking from. Like peeking through a tiny tear in a curtain, we mistake a fragment for the ...whole. But shift the view, move a few inches, and an entirely different world appears. This episode is about perspective, how a small change in how you interpret your surroundings can open doors you didn’t even know existed. I share a moment from early in my journey, running through Boston, feeling lost, only to realize that stepping back, literally and metaphorically, gave me clarity, calm, and control.More from Eddie Pinero:Shop the apparel brand: agns.lifestyleMonday Motivation Newsletter: https://www.eddiepinero.com/newsletterBusiness Inquiries - http://www.yourworldwithin.com/contact#liveinspired #yourworldwithin #motivation

Starting point is 00:00:00 When you're quote-unquote all out of motivation, when you feel uninspired, lost, hopeless, I promise you it's not the world that needs changing. It's your perspective. There are the pieces around you to build your ideal life. Even when the idea of better seems preposterous, I'll defer to an old Jordan Peterson metaphor about a stage and a theater.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Imagine with me the curtains down. And this curtain has a series of small tears or holes scattered all throughout it. And you, you're standing behind the closed curtain on stage. You choose a particular tear, walk right up to it, and kind of peer one eye through to look out at the theater. And you'd be able to see the other side, right? but only a very specific component of the other side. For example, maybe the terrier looking through points directly at a seat front and center. And all you can see is that seat.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Not the aisle, not the balcony, that seat. You might be inclined to think that's all there is. But no, you take a step back, walk over a little bit, look through a different opening, and the view changes entirely. Maybe this one points directly at an exit sign on the other side, lighting up the aisle and illuminating the door. Suddenly it's like, oh, there's an exit, there's a way out. Well, there always was. You just weren't looking at it. I remember in probably 2016, just starting my journey here, roughly, you know, before the Year World Within podcast, before speaking, before building AGMS.
Starting point is 00:02:04 I was learning essentially how to think for myself, how to navigate the world, how to figure life out. And everything seemed confusing. It was intimidating. The world felt big and I felt small, right? It was downtown Boston and kind of doing the same things. The hamster on the wheel had sort of emerged, running the same loop around the Charles River. Same T-ride down Calm Ave. Same Chipotle five days a week, right? glory days. One day I decided I was going to run a half marathon. I don't remember much other than that, but I don't think any other detail is really important, right? So instead of circling around the Charles River like I usually did, I ran all the way down to Seaport.
Starting point is 00:02:52 In the view of downtown Boston from the Seaport district is stunning. And I remember stopping, which I never do during a run, right? Just hit pause. hung my feet over the side of the dock and it just gave me this sense of calm like that's the beehive over there it's a beautiful beehive but it's a beehive that's the hustle and bustle
Starting point is 00:03:18 but it's not life go in there enjoy it try and make something of yourself but separate you from that because you have more control than you know more power than you know This isn't a test or exam. There is no year-end review coming,
Starting point is 00:03:40 which in itself is the mindset I had to unlearn, right? It was very boxed in for a lot of my adult life. It was like, breathe. And when you step back into that world, know that you are choosing it. And that was all. It was this transformative experience, this sigh of relief.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Like, dude, everything's going to be fine. I don't know how, but it will. See, the old, It's not what you look at, it's what you see, is truly worth all the money in the world. Losing something hurts. But also, new things don't emerge unless old ones go. Are you choosing to see the old or the new? He or she out there is thriving.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Okay. Are you looking at that as your loss, as life being a zero-sum game? Or are you seeing their success as proof that it can be done? And if they can, why not you? If you're currently finding yourself at a dead end, please take solace in the absolute fact that the road has not come to an end. In fact, it's just the beginning. You just need to adjust your route. Maybe that's backtracking a few feet to hit that turnoff you missed.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Maybe it's stepping off the pavement and finding a new road in tight. But your journey is just beginning. Your story is just starting to be told, and that shouldn't scare you. That should excite you. Because the second you realize you have control over the narrative, well, you understand just how much you can build. You see that there are no limitations in this game unless they are put in place by you. If what you see is not conducive to what you want, then find a new hole in that curtain. Relocate your gaze until you find a solution.
Starting point is 00:05:54 To truly oversimplify the message here, when you are uninspired, you're thinking small. And you're thinking small in a world with infinite opportunity. I promise you it's not the world that is the issue, that needs adjusting. So change your interpretation of it. And you will change your life. What's up, guys, Eddie here. And before we jump into the next chapter, just a quick note.
Starting point is 00:06:36 So as many of you know, every single video that I've ever put on this channel has been created with the intent of building momentum in your life. If you want something physical to anchor that momentum, we've created the brand, AGMS. or always grateful, never satisfied for that exact reason.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Athletic apparel that embodies the very ideas and concepts I talk about every day. Because you're watching on YouTube or Spotify, we've created a code for this exclusive community, YWW20. You can use that on the website, agns.lifestyle. We're right under this video on YouTube. All this stuff is there in the shop. Again, code YWW20 gets you 20% off the entire store. It's a great way to support the channel and also elevate your journey. Let it be a reminder to keep showing up.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Appreciate your time. Always grateful, never satisfied. On to the next. Sometimes success is merely hanging on when others would let go. Not doing anything spectacular or out of the ordinary. not leaping a mile or jumping over a mountain, but simply carrying on. Thomas Edison has a famous quote that's really stuck with me over the years. He says many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up, right?
Starting point is 00:08:19 How close they were to the finish line when they turned their back and said it wasn't worth it. It's really an interesting thing to grasp. Success is seeing what others can't. It's believing when others don't. It's taking the abstract, those visions, those pictures in your head, the make-believe in finding the courage to make them real. Bring them to life. It's this constantly evolving process,
Starting point is 00:08:59 and it grows a little bit every single. single day. Sometimes we feel that progress. We feel the momentum. We do something big and it's exciting. And sometimes the progress feels small. And then there are times when we get knocked down and we don't see it at all. We feel like because we weren't validated that we lost, that we failed, that it wasn't enough. We forget that's part of the process, that progress is a journey. And it goes when you go, and it stops when you stop. Just like that famous Dalai Lama quote, right? The only way to fail is to quit, period.
Starting point is 00:09:50 No one ever stops because they can't. They stop because they decide to. They stop because they see that huge mountain and they think that's impossible. They forget it's only made of little rocks. They stop because they get so disheartened by the distance of the finish line that they forget it only takes a collection of little steps to get there. You don't have to leap the entire distance. You know, I've been there. This is me speaking from experience.
Starting point is 00:10:24 It took me years to figure it out. And even now, life is rapidly evolving. I've poured my heart into things that, let's be honest, no one cared about. I've invested in opportunities that fell apart right in front of me. And each time it felt like the end of the world. I've been lost. I've been unsure. Gotten up after things didn't go as planned and it felt like a loser. I had to look myself in the mirror and pick myself back up off the floor.
Starting point is 00:10:55 But there's one thing that I kept doing that I never thought twice about. And that's continuing on. Whether life lifted me up or it beat me down, my plan for tomorrow was always the same. Get up and try again. Keep going. And as I sat down this morning with my pen and a piece of paper, I thought, what's the one thing I would want to be told if I started out again? What's the one thing that people need to hear most? And it's to simply keep going.
Starting point is 00:11:36 taking because one day the world will start to make sense and you'll look around and you will be thankful for one thing that when most would have stopped you didn't when the world said no you said yes there is nothing so powerful as a soul that refuses to back down see persistence is not an important thing or an essential It's everything. So live as to see. Not what can be lost, but what will be gained. Find that light in darkness,
Starting point is 00:12:21 even if it's a flicker, even if it's a spark. See, every loss makes you a little tougher, and every instant of sadness uncover something beautiful. Every moment of fear teaches you to be a little braver, little braver, every broken heart opens the door to a new connection. Instead of doubting yourself, feeling inadequate in life's darkest moments, know that you need what you are going through.
Starting point is 00:12:55 You are uncovering the little victories hidden in plain view, so when the world feels like too much and your patience is thin, be stronger than that voice in your head, Begging you to think small. Stand on every experience. The good and the bad. Let it elevate you to a beautiful tomorrow. You can be your greatest fan and also your biggest critic. In fact, not only is it healthy, it's necessary.
Starting point is 00:13:53 To be there for yourself, celebrate that commitment to show up, but also to hold yourself accountable for growth. Because to be great is to know there's more in you, to understand that there's greatness waiting to be extracted from the miracle that is you. Here are two words. I want to take a look at both of them. Consistency and adaptation. Consistency first. Why? Because consistency gets you in the door. It's the cost of admission. Consistency is you showing up for yourself. Day in and day out. Creating mastery and competence through repetition.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Manufacturing a data set that will be used to guide your journey, taking a once stagnant idea and putting it into motion. Consistency is doing what you promise. to yourself you'd do when you said you'd do it. Why? Because that's who you are. You create goals and then conquer those goals. When your head hits the pillow at night, you may be tired, you may have struggled, you may have swung and missed, you may be wondering how things unfolded the way they did, but you showed up. So celebrate that. Celebrate yourself, be your biggest fan. Because the world can't take your will to step forward and cannot seize your consistency,
Starting point is 00:15:53 not without your permission. So other than part one, let's call consistency the commitment to show up for you. Now the second piece. Consistency's older brother. Adaptation. See, that consistency, like we just talked about it, will get you in the door. It signs you up for the game,
Starting point is 00:16:22 but it guarantees nothing. See where consistency puts that pen in your hand, paper in front of you, patch you on the back, where consistency gives you a chance to write your story, one's level of success or achievement relies on their ability to adapt. To do the thing that's so hard for people to do, look in the mirror and ask, how can I be better? I've been consistent for 30 days, sure.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Here's what's right. Here's what's wrong. Now it's time to adjust. To be critical. to understand that expecting more of the self does not in any way diminish the task at hand. It gives you room to expand into that next version of yourself in a way that simply showing up doesn't.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Without a willingness to adapt, you get Einstein's definition of insanity, right? Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results. You get day after day of wondering why this square, peg won't just save us all the trouble and go into the round hole. Without a willingness to adapt, we move for the sake of moving and we work for the sake of working. But if we could find it within ourselves to look at the data that's been acquired day after day
Starting point is 00:18:04 and use it to help guide ourselves to that North Star, we'll find strength. To seek out the delta between where we are and where we want to be, that is power. But it calls for more than just showing up. It calls for looking around. It calls for observing and then adapting. So yeah, your greatest fan and your greatest critic. Be there for you, but don't let yourself get away with good enough. showing up is critical.
Starting point is 00:18:45 It's powerful, but it's just the beginning. If your eyes stay open, if you're willing to both love yourself and improve yourself simultaneously, all the world becomes available to you. There are no mountains you can't climb or oceans you can't cross. And sure, the world will do what the world does. It will place challenges before you. But rather than those challenges being the reason you can't,
Starting point is 00:19:15 rather than accepting those challenges as a permanent reality, they become nothing more than the next puzzle to be solved, the next little adaptation that's required of you. You show up, you self-assess, you adjust, and carry right on towards that horizon again and again. So when you find yourself frustrated or up against that wall, remember, you are building your ideal reality. Be proud of yourself for showing up, for being consistent. Because as dire as it might seem, you overcame a lot to get here.
Starting point is 00:19:58 But also know that the challenge at hand is not an indictment of you or your goals. It's your chance to review the game plan and adjust. Your opportunity to do what so many fail to do. not shrink from the world, but adapt yourself to it. Grow because of it. Today is your opportunity to take what the world gives you and build something new. There's an old quote that states 80% of life is showing up. Now, showing up means many different things to many different people,
Starting point is 00:21:08 but the idea is not complicated. You can't do anything of significance unless you have first, and foremost, arrived. Which brings me to today. See, I had a list of concepts I've been excited to talk about, things that I've either read or have been recent epiphanies in my life. And I can't wait to share those with you. But this morning, oh, let me tell you about this morning. I'm finding the energy to do anything.
Starting point is 00:21:42 It felt like trying to squeeze blood from a rock. I woke up with a headache, exhausted because I didn't sleep at all the night before. And you know that feeling. Like when you didn't sleep at all the night before, you're oddly constantly reminding yourself the next day that you didn't sleep. And everything just felt off. And really, as I'm speaking now, things still kind of do. And so I got up and I sort of played with the idea of taking the day off altogether.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Maybe I'm due for one anyway. I thought about resting. the little devil with the pitchfork on my shoulder continuously reminded me how great sleep would feel and I was sitting there kind of weighing my options. Took some IP-profen, started the coffee, sat down on the couch, just kind of looking at the wall, what to do, what to do. But realistically, I knew.
Starting point is 00:22:37 And I want to explain why. Over the years, I've taught myself through repetition that's sitting down and writing and recording, unless I plan intentionally to do otherwise, is it non-negotiable? It's helped me see that the goal, in any meaningful pursuit, should be getting to the point where,
Starting point is 00:22:58 despite the circumstances, you show up. Stephen Presfield, whose voice often echoes in my mind when I come face to face with these situations. He wrote, art is war Between ourselves and the forces of self-sabotage That would stop us from doing our work The artist is a warrior
Starting point is 00:23:23 Artist being anyone Bringing something to the world that does not yet exist And he goes on to describe the battle with the mind Over sitting down in that chair and writing When we know we must write but don't want to when a tired or distracted mind begins looking for off-ramps, as mine clearly started doing this morning. These seemingly trivial moments,
Starting point is 00:23:51 when any rational soul could argue for the validity of postponing their date with Microsoft Word, will they come to matter more than ever, because greatness is a byproduct of intentionality. If you become accustomed to breaking promises to yourself, If you leave that door cracked for exceptions here and there, it will ultimately be kicked open. And that's why I inject little reminders like that into my life
Starting point is 00:24:24 to keep that mental muscle working. For example, there can never be dishes left in my sink when I go to bed. Why? Because if I skip at once, there will always exist reasons to skip again. It's a very easy thing to not care about. because here is the reality. Progress is a lifestyle. Growth is a lifestyle. At least if we're talking about any meaningful type of evolution.
Starting point is 00:24:56 I just finished reading, It Takes What It Takes, by Trevor Moad. One of those three to five hour listens on Audible, depending on how fast it's playing, really packs a punch. And I'm going to be diving into a few of his concepts a little more in the coming weeks, but one thing he discusses that I found incredibly valuable is the illusion of choice. And what the illusion of choice highlights is that there are a set of behaviors
Starting point is 00:25:26 that must be carried out to be effective. The idea of alternate roots is an illusion. There are no choices when it comes to what's necessary. We know what must be done to win. Now, Knowing that is one thing. Knowing that and having to propel yourself to action when you feel like garbage is something different entirely. But that's why it's so valuable to get to that place where you can take the emotion out, remove the internal deliberation, and automate the things you know are going to help push you to be that better version of yourself. In other words, you show up for you, period. And that is a non-negotiable. The level we all need to get to.
Starting point is 00:26:22 And I'm thinking about this, drawing parallels to a lot of different aspects of my day, right? The interval training I have this afternoon. When you're exhausted, 40 minutes in and are switching from squats to mountain climbers or whatever it is, right? Instructor makes the announcement. I don't think about anything. I don't give myself a chance to try and rationalize any weakness. I know. If this is important to me, keep that door shut. No thinking just doing next. Simply doing what you always do, what you've signed up for, cannot be self-perceived as some monumental sacrifice.
Starting point is 00:27:04 No, it's just what you do. It's neutral. Sometimes you feel like it. Sometimes you don't. But you do what you do. And that puts you on track to accomplish some incredible things. And so remembering this, ultimately pushed me through that studio door this morning and placed me down right in front of my mic. Sure, I had to adjust some things. Definitely picked some mellower music. There's going to be no crescendos today, or my head will explode.
Starting point is 00:27:39 But this is not torture. In fact, I'm really happy with the way the episode's turning out. I would have missed out on something that I think is going to be pretty valuable in a variety of ways. But what I'm telling myself is that this is not a victory. It's certainly not defeat. It's just what I do. And so the question worth asking yourself, when facing the adversity life presents,
Starting point is 00:28:13 then whatever arena you were in, is are you willing to show up for you? Can you turn that internal deliberation switch off when it comes to the necessities before you? minimize that rationalizing that I battled with this morning. We don't need or want that. There should be no thinking, no crack doors, no metaphorical dishes in the sink. If you decide something is important and you sign that dotted line
Starting point is 00:28:46 when it's time to execute, you act. And then you move directly onto the next. The goal is to not even negotiate with weakness. Now that's not to say Pressfield's aforementioned war of art won't rage on as you journey to the new horizons you've set out for. But just like anything, it's an understanding that will help you focus. It will help you say no to the distractions and the minutiaia and continue writing your story, constructing your reality line by line and peace by piece. Please.
