Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Your World Within podcast. I'm Eddie Panero. And in today's episode, I sit down with best-selling author and entrepreneur, Peter Vug, to talk about his new book, Seven Rules to Seven Figures. But before we jump into this incredible episode, first, a quick thanks to today's sponsor, Audible. Those of you who follow the podcast or watch my videos on YouTube, you know that books are a huge part of my life. And no resource has been more impactful than Audible. because it allows us to consume books on the go. Whether you're driving, walking, running, working out,
Starting point is 00:00:36 it makes books accessible in a fast-paced world. And today, if you go to audible trial.com slash your world within, you get a free month trial and a free audiobook, which even if you decide to discontinue the trial, you get to keep the book. So a no-lose situation, audible trial.com slash your world within. And now let's get to the episode. Here is Peter Vood. Well, first of all, thank you for coming and hanging out, Peter. I appreciate it. It's been a long time
Starting point is 00:01:24 coming. I've been reading your books and following you on IG and it's a cool thing, man. Thank you, man. My pleasure. And vice versa, I've heard great things about you as well, man. So I'm excited to chop it up and add value in any way I can. Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. So I think there's a lot of overlap. And I know a lot of people that watch my YouTube channel, listen to my pod, follow you as well. But someone that's brand new popping on. Like, how would you explain who Peter Vugd is and what your mission is? I mean, really, I'm a small town kid from a little town on the coast in Oregon with not
Starting point is 00:01:59 much guidance, a lot of ambition, and found my message, found my mission to really impact people and help them live a life on their terms, help them create a business around their lifestyle versus creating a lifestyle around their business. And I want to make sure people understand the power they have within to create and design whatever they want. So my mission and my focus, Eddie, the past 10 or 15 years, is just really to cut through all the noise. There's so much fluff and BS out there.
Starting point is 00:02:26 I want to give people the real tactical value on how to build a successful life on their terms and not take what's given and not settle like most people do. So that's been my mission, man, just to help people live a better and more fulfilling. life because I've been through being broke, being in the trenches, being stressed out, frustrated, discouraged, having no choices, and I've came out the other side and being fulfilled and really living a life of meaning and purpose and doing what you want on your terms,
Starting point is 00:02:55 it's priceless, as you know. Yeah, well, we need that clarity now more than ever. And I think one of the things it's so inspiring about what you do is you've lived it. I mean, you're talking about things you've been through and I love that authenticity. I just think it's so powerful. So with this, with this new book that I've, you know, I've gotten lucky enough to take a peek at and really enjoyed it. I noticed that it feels bigger, bigger breath, bigger scope. Like there are so many, it's like for all different aspects of life, there's stuff to take away. And was that sort of, as you went from six months to six figures to this new book, seven rules to seven figures, was that the goal?
Starting point is 00:03:31 What was the plan there? Yes. The focus for six months to six figures was really creating the best six months. of anyone's life. And if you take the tactics serious, you can create six figures in six months just like I did. And people loved it. But creating a six figure income and a six figure business is one thing. Getting the seven figures, here's my problem that took me a couple years to figure out. I thought the way to get the seven figures, because these days we'd admit low six figures, it's not really thriving in this new economy with inflation and what's happening in the prices.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Making a hundred K a year isn't what it used to be. So now, this new seven figures really is the old six figures. So I thought that you had to work more hours and work harder and really just push yourself even more to get the seven figures. And I realize, Eddie, that that's not the case. You can't get to seven figures doing more of what got you six figures. And that's what totally shifted my mentality is. It's a whole different mentality. It's a whole different mindset shift. It's a whole different way of thinking and a whole different way to move in business. So I just thought for people that have gotten the six figures, the number one question I got after that is, yeah, but I want to take that next step. How do I get the seven figures?
Starting point is 00:04:47 And most people think it's just more work, which it's not, yes, you have to work, but you have to work strategically and purposeful. You have to be able to develop people and create systems and brand and position, things like that. So it just, I grew at a higher level. I went through so many changes as I talked about in the book. I married the grill of my dreams. I had two kids now. I have traveled the world, spoken in all different places. I've gotten paid 30 something thousand dollars to speak. And I've just grown tremendously. And I don't even feel like I can recognize the kid that wrote the old my six months of six figures. I don't even recognize this guy. So this is just like you said it, man. It's just it's a different. I made a whole different
Starting point is 00:05:27 stratosphere of success, results and happiness. And I really feel like I've hacked the system. in a way where I've built a seven and almost eight figure business on my terms, keeping my values intact, putting my family first, and being super happy and fulfilled, which is rare because a lot of people I know, they're making maybe $100 million, but they're stressed to the max, they're working 100 hours, they have no freedom. And I feel like if you did it that way, you did everything wrong. So I wanted to give people like a blueprint, a blueprint to follow to build a life on their terms that allows them to be free and have some freedom and flexibility, if that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Yeah, it does. It does. I can't wait to talk about that. I mean, you know, you mentioned that it's, money is a gateway to freedom. It's not necessarily money, you know. And so it was cool to see that, like, at a certain point, you stop playing checkers and you start playing chess. 100%, you know, which is really cool. So you sort of open your book on that note with the idea that, you know, when you're making this shift, you have to take into account that the old economy, as you called it, is a thing of the past. There's a new economy. We got to adjust.
Starting point is 00:06:30 We got to adapt. We got to move on. And that is going to make or break people. Can you talk a little bit about that? I mean, what worked a couple years ago doesn't work anymore. I don't care if it's branding. I don't care if it's marketing.
Starting point is 00:06:43 It's content creation. It's not as effective as it used to be. And I've been obsessed, Eddie, with what's working now and what's going to work versus what worked 20 years ago. And I personally feel like things are changing at such a rapid pace that people are being left behind. And with the crowded marketplace and with evolving technology
Starting point is 00:07:00 and like nonstop distractions, the people that can understand what's happening can kind of get a jump up and rise to the top, someone like you, right? So here's what I mean by that. It's no longer about age and it's no longer about experience like it used to be because I know 17, 18, and 19 year olds.
Starting point is 00:07:20 I don't know if you know the YouTuber Ryan, the guy that does the, uh, opens the toys. He's making $20 million. and he's nine years old. I saw that. He's nine years old. So my thought process that got me obsessed with this a couple of years ago before I started writing the book is how is there 18, 19, and 20 year olds making millions and hardworking,
Starting point is 00:07:42 loyal 50 year olds dead broke? How are we in a society where a nine year old makes 20 million and a 50 year old's dead broke? Hard working, family man broke because one says I have 20 years of experience. in actuality, you only have one year of experience repeated 20 times if you're doing the same thing. So this new economy demands that you invest in yourself, demands that you become innovative and keep getting better and better every single year. So it's adapt or die. That's really what I meant is it doesn't matter if you're 15 and you're watching this or you're 72. It's not as much about
Starting point is 00:08:16 age as it is about a roadmap and a network. When you have a roadmap that you can follow and you have a network of people, that's when you can thrive in the new economy and you can adapt and adjust to what's happening, whether it's trends, technology, different platforms, things like that. So that's what I meant. I just don't feel like people are adapting quick enough. And I feel like I'll figure it out myself mentality or the my way or the highway that a lot of people have that stubborn mentality doesn't work anymore. I think those people are going to get killed in this new economy, as you know yourself. Do you think like that, the young younger generation has an advantage because they're so open to some of these scalable social networks
Starting point is 00:08:57 and things like that that's your example maybe a 50 year old just wouldn't just open-minded and i and i used to i used to focus on millennials people used to ask me are you discriminating why don't you focus on 40 506 shows people that are going to retire it's like i love those people that's my parents that's my family friends but in my experience over 90% of them are so stubborn they don't want to change i'm not going to sit there and tell them what to do and do it for them and want success for them more do they want it for themselves. So it's like, that's why I like working with the young demographic. Now, I don't discriminate.
Starting point is 00:09:28 I love working with everybody that's hungry enough to execute. But that's one of the reasons why I chose that is because they really are. And you have to be willing to adapt and adjust. You have to be willing to learn new things and unlearn old things. I knew a girl, Eddie, that had the same job. She went to college eight years, okay? Not four. Eight years specifically for this job.
Starting point is 00:09:52 This company told her to do that, promised her this and this. She worked their 15 years, super loyal. And during the pandemic, they fired her with no notice. No, no severance package. Nothing. Just see you later. And that made me realize, man, in this pandemic, what's happening? A lot of people don't have your back like they think.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Colleges, corporations, government. The only person that has your back is yourself. And if you're lucky, your family. So that's why I was so obsessed with getting this out, giving people a roadmap where they can bet on themselves. and finally have a proven blueprint to follow if they're willing to adapt because some aren't. You probably know people that are older that are stubborn that you're just like, please adapt, get on YouTube or listen to me.
Starting point is 00:10:33 And they're just like, nope, got to do it the old way. And then a lot of times they wait until their backs against the wall. Then they reach out when it's too late. Yeah. And it's the land of opportunity, you know. And I think it's a perfect timing for this book because the pandemic really did show that like you got to be self-sufficient. showed you how fickle things are. Economies collapse in a day, you know, and if you're not somehow self-dependent or self-reliant, you're in trouble.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Now, the other side of that, which I thought was really cool, you talked about in your book, it's just as bad. You call the entrepreneur's addiction, where it's like, okay, so now maybe you get the courage and you're like, I'm going, I'm going. And there's a million videos and resources and podcasts, and that could be just as deadly. Can you talk about what that is? So this happened to me. Everything, what I feel like in my heart and soul that I'm proud of is this isn't a book where I just kind of looked online and found some execution or found some action and found some information.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Hey, let's do this. I went through this. This is like in the trenches. So for me, when I started, everyone told me to invest in myself to study to read. So what I would do is I would read a ton of books. I would listen to every podcast, listen to every YouTube video. And I was just the information junkie. And what happened is I got overwhelmed.
Starting point is 00:11:49 And when you're overwhelmed, you seek distraction. And I wasn't executing because I was so overwhelmed. So then I would trick myself. I would trick myself and say, okay, I need more information because I got to get better. And instead of executing what I've already learned, I just learned more. So I knew everything, but I was dead broke. So I see in the younger generation that they're so obsessed with learning, they forget that they have to execute. what they learn, then they trick themselves and thinking they need more information,
Starting point is 00:12:19 and all they need is to execute the right information. So that's what I talk about there, where there's so much information with what's going online every single minute, Facebook, YouTube, IG, Google, there's so much information. You have to really get crystal clear on what you want, what vehicle you want to create your seven figures with, which I talk about. You have to get clear on your values and what's most important to you. And then only study stuff that's relevant to that. And I create a checklist where it's like, is this information created by someone that I respect that I value that's really, really mastered their craft?
Starting point is 00:12:54 Have I executed on my previous information that I've learned? If I haven't, why am I studying more? And I think that could help people so much. I went on a mission too where the last, in 2019, I didn't study a lot. I just focused on execution. I had one podcast. I studied one YouTube channel. I had one mentor.
Starting point is 00:13:13 I was just very almost monomaniacal and focused on just consuming the right information, not a lot. It was the best year I ever had. Results wise, income wise, happiness wise, clarity wise, success wise. So I don't know if you experienced this, but I just see too many people. They'll watch videos and watch stuff and read, which is great. But here's how I kind of see this playing out. If it's easy and it's an easy barrier to entry, anyone can do it, it's not very valid.
Starting point is 00:13:43 and it doesn't move the needle, which means anyone literally can pick up a book and read. Anyone can watch a YouTube channel. Now, what about creating a YouTube channel? That's a little more difficult. You're more valuable. What about building a subscriber base on YouTube? What about crushing it online? See, a lot of things that you've done to crush it online were things others weren't willing to do.
Starting point is 00:14:08 See, the easy thing was to study YouTube videos. But at some point, you had to make a decision, okay, I have to stop studying and I have to stop reading and I got to start executing and actually building my business. So I just see that too much where people are more obsessed with learning when they should be obsessed with execution and outcomes. People that are outcome focused produce results like nobody else. So I challenge people, get addicted to outcomes and results, not just information and knowledge. That's why every single chapter I give people an execution plan that they can follow. to make sure they don't move on until they get some results
Starting point is 00:14:44 or at least challenge themselves to get uncomfortable to write down what they need to do. That's kind of where that came from. It was tactical at the end of each chapter. I thought that was really cool. And it's why I was so excited when I read it. I mean, I talk about it almost nonstop
Starting point is 00:14:59 because it was one of the biggest things that makes me so happy, man. You're building a business and someone's always like, this is the product that works. You'll get rich if you do this. And there's been times where I just, I divert and I get off of my track.
Starting point is 00:15:10 But yeah, staying authentic and just falling on your ass and getting back up over and over again. And staying focused on the one thing that you want to do. Yeah. Huge. That's such a game changer, man. As you're doing that, right? Let's say you're staying focused. You have your one thing. And the world is always trying to distract you, right? Trying to whether steer you off course or put in front of you what you call temporary pleasures. And I think one of the things that you said is delayed.
Starting point is 00:15:40 What's the exact term? Gratification. Delayed gratification. Thank you. Yeah. Delayed gratification is one of the most important things that someone can understand, right? Forfeiting the now for a better later, I'd love to know, and I'm sure people would get so much out of this.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Like in a world where your phone's always ringing, things are popping off, there's videos to watch, there's all this nonsense and noise and chaos around us. How do you push that aside and say, you know what? I'm going to enjoy myself later, but right now I am focused and I have a mission. Well, first you have to sell yourself on. it because if you're not fully sold on it, you'll be distracted off it. So for example, that's the number one reason I think people do focus on instant pleasure or they don't understand delayed gratification is they haven't actually sold themselves on what they're
Starting point is 00:16:25 doing. That's the number one reason for procrastination. So I'll use, I mean, a simple task of completing five sales calls or for me, writing a book. if I'm not fully sold on completing this book, if I haven't fully sold myself off every other option and I've sold myself on why I need to write this, why I need to finish it, what the end goals are,
Starting point is 00:16:50 what the feelings I want to experience when I'm finished, the people it's going to impact, how much this is needed, my kids reading this book when they're older, having a legacy for my family, if I don't define all of those things before I start, it's almost guaranteed I'm going to quit because it's not easy writing.
Starting point is 00:17:06 a book. It's almost, I wanted to quit a thousand times, but because I sold myself on it, there was no other option. So relationship, divorce rates super high right now. If you're not 100% sold on your significant other, and if there's a 1% chance in your head, wow, there might be someone better out there for me, you're going to take the 1% almost every time. It's the same thing with the lady. It's the same thing with everything. If you smoke and you're not sold on smoking being bad for you, you're going to always smoke. The second you sell yourself off it, you'll stop. So you have to sell yourself on what type of life you want to live and who you want to become. If you delay gratification and you make tough decisions now, it's just a proven fact life
Starting point is 00:17:48 becomes way easier and life becomes more fulfilling and you have more success. It's just a fact. If you focus on instant pleasure now, if you don't choose growth in the moment, if you hit the snooze button, if you eat the cheeseburger versus the salad, if you skip your workout and watch TV, if you lay on the couch versus look at your goals. If you go out on Friday night partying when you're broke, when you should be studying, eventually life gets really, really hard.
Starting point is 00:18:13 So I was making so many easy decisions because I use the excuse. I'm young. I could do that. But then I was 23, 23, 24, and I was dead broke. And I'm like, some of my friends were like, that's okay to be broke. You're only 23. I don't know if you ever been broke,
Starting point is 00:18:30 but it's not fun to be dead broke, right? There's no choices. So I'm like, screw this. I don't want to. to be dead broke. So I had to start making different choices. So that's where it came from is I realized that if I could delay gratification until later, if I can clearly define my goals, if I can set some standards for myself, because I feel like life organizes around the standards you set for yourself, things will get a lot easier. So I tried it for a year. I delayed gratification,
Starting point is 00:18:56 and I really, I always chose the tougher route. I chose the tougher decision in the moment. And that next year and the year after were not just the best years I've ever had, but they were easier to execute my business. And they were easier to make tough decisions because I created a habit to do so. So there was just a study that I read that what inspired this was I work with a lot of inner city kids when I lived in Seattle. We ran a direct sales company and we did multi-millions and I had a huge sales team. A lot of them were inner city kids. And there was many studies that were out that if you grew up in a home where the parents did not have any recollection of future, they were very focused on survival, paycheck to paycheck survival right now, the kids have no understanding of doing something now and having the future you're paying for it.
Starting point is 00:19:53 They have no difference of now and the future. They're always in the moment. And that hurts people. So if you can learn delayed gratification and you can delay something now that you feel like doing until later, you're happier, you're better at emotional intelligence, higher SAT scores, better with connecting with people, you make tougher decisions in the moment, you become more successful. It's just a fact. So that's why I think the silent killer is people just don't realize that they're making such easy decisions in the moment. And they're living on someday I'll. someday I'll invest in myself someday I'll build a business someday I'll take action someday not now but someday
Starting point is 00:20:32 and then what happens is someday never gets there that's why it's important to tell yourself right now matters more than ever a lot of people Eddie spend the first half of their life like I did at the beginning I'm too young I'm too young to be successful then they spend the second half and they go
Starting point is 00:20:46 I'm too old and then regret just piles up and piles up so that's why it's a simple chapter but I think it's powerful because it lays out what to do to make sure you have tactical steps to build delayed gratification into your business and lifestyle. Yeah. And so the first thing for someone that's that's not good at that would be listening to your podcast, reading your book and understanding, becoming aware. Like, okay, I'm making 100%. So let's say now they're like, okay, now I want to emulate Peter. Like now I want to follow that
Starting point is 00:21:16 path. Like, do you think executing, so let's use a book example. I'm writing a book, but I'm used to being on YouTube for six hours a day. I'm used to all these things. Like, saying no to that stuff, is it, as Jocko puts it, you just do it? Or were there like certain tricks that helped you? Yeah, great question. So there's different ways. You can, you can, the discipline is the hardest way. So the Jocko way is, is the hardest way to do it. Like, because it sounds good when someone says, just do it. It sounds good and tough, but have you ever just did it all the time? No, it's hard. So there's then, you know what I mean? It's, it's hard to just do something. You don't feel like doing. It sounds easy to say that, but it's hard to do it.
Starting point is 00:21:56 it. So there's two other options and they're the easier ones, but my favorite one is the last one that no one talks about. The second one is willpower. I started putting my tougher things when I had the most willpower. You only have a certain amount of willpower throughout your day. And if you spend your willpower on dumb decisions or like what to wear and all these things, you slowly diminish your willpower, then when it's time to do something and you don't feel like it, it becomes really hard. But if you place what you have to do at the times where you feel the most excited and fired up when you have the most energy, it's easier. But my favorite way that changed my life forever is the lifestyle shift, which means it's not even an option. So when I was writing my book, my biggest distraction was the internet. I would go places without my phone with no internet. I physically could not be distracted because if you don't have a plan to interrupt your interruptions, your plans will always be interrupted.
Starting point is 00:22:54 That's so powerful, man. It's a fact, right? So I had to interrupt. Now, me and my wife were trying to be healthy. We used to get so pissed because we had sweet tooth at night and we would go in the freezer and we'd get ice cream. Or we would go in the pantry and get something. Lifestyle shift is we don't have bad food in our house. We just don't have it.
Starting point is 00:23:15 So we could have the worst discipline. We could have no willpower. It doesn't matter. We can't physically eat anything bad because there's nothing. here. That's the game is doing that. That's harder. We have a trainer, right? I don't always feel I feel like working out maybe one day a week. So people, if I'm in shape, they're like, oh, you must feel like working out. I never feel like working out. Ever. But we have a trainer that comes four days a week. So we have no other option. We're paying. You don't really run away from them.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Yeah. Exactly. So that's what I recommend for people that are newer is just kind of institute rituals is in your life where you have to execute discipline without really thinking about it, eating healthy, writing your book, getting away from the internet. Like if I feel like, I only know what my phone is. If I feel like I'm on my phone a lot, I just simply put it. I have zero notifications on my phone. And my phone hasn't been on loud for probably five years. I haven't answered my phone without knowing the number, probably in five years.
Starting point is 00:24:14 There's just no point, right? If you want something, email or text me if it's important. So I just think this I found so the phone is just a huge distraction So when I work this is off or away because I will subconsciously look at it Have you ever like been working and you're and all of a sudden you're on your phone? You're like what the hell? My hand reaches to my pocket. How to get it? Yeah and it's just like it's hard to get in the zone that way. So most people never get in the zone because they're distracted
Starting point is 00:24:42 So all their work they put out is never their best work. You know what I mean? And so that stuff motivates me because I want my best work to be out there, not for me anymore, for my kids and my family. So that's where that came from. You're asking great questions, man. You're getting fired up. It makes me want to read the book. I love it. I mean, that's a huge thing to take away from this conversation.
Starting point is 00:25:02 You position your environment so that you went. You went. It's conducive to you. 100%. And another thing you mentioned, I guess another derivative of that, you talk about hustle and the right vehicle. And how, you know, one of my favorite quotes I talk about all the time, Mark Twain, says if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, you know, it's, it's not a winning proposition. And so you have to find the right vehicle where you're excited to get out of
Starting point is 00:25:27 bed in the morning. You're excited to do that. So what advice would you give to someone looking for that vehicle? Well, I mean, there's steps. It starts with knowing yourself, knowing your strengths and weaknesses, knowing what, like, fires you up inside and knowing what you feel like you're good at. I think the gift is what you do really well with the least amount of effort. That's your gift. So if you can focus on your strengths and mix it with your passion and solve a problem people care about, you will be very well off if you understand the tactics on how to build a business, which is in the book. So that's the focus. One of the reasons I put this in here is because I've seen a lot of people get the six figures and then they're in the wrong vehicle.
Starting point is 00:26:16 There's no upside or they realize this is not what I want to do. And I've seen some people get the seven figures and they're like, I got into business to be free and to control my schedule. Now my business is controlling me. It's because they didn't thoroughly think through their business model or what industry to get into. So I challenge people. And I'm really big, Eddie, on just not wasting any of your life.
Starting point is 00:26:40 Because like this, by the time this interview is over, we are closer to death. Sounds weird. I don't like to waste time, a waste life. So that's why I'm very big on choose the right vehicle. And I give everyone steps exactly on how to choose the right vehicle, how to figure out what industry to get into, how to make sure that matches your strengths and you're positioned in a way where it hits all your criteria. Because a lot of people stress out because they're not hitting their values.
Starting point is 00:27:07 If someone's internal value is flexibility and freedom, that's their value, is their family, freedom. They want to see their family. But they have a 9 to 5 job that does not allow them to have freedom and they have to tell them when they can leave and when they can see family. They'll always be stressed and incongruently frustrated, always. They won't know why, but they'll be like, dude, something's pissing me off. It's because you value freedom and you're at a job where they tell you what to do. You're incongruent. Now, if you value security over freedom, you're going to love your job.
Starting point is 00:27:36 because you don't want to be an entrepreneur. You don't want freedom. You want security. But I'm assuming most people watching this probably value family, freedom, and lifestyle over security and other people telling them what they're worth. So that was a big, big key for me is just making sure people understood the power of that and understood the power of executing on the right vehicle because we both know people that put in all this work, this time, I've done it, all this work, these hours, time and effort
Starting point is 00:28:04 just to get to the place where they're like, this isn't what I want to do. Right. I don't even have upside. It's hard to unwind that. Really? And then people validate and they say, well, I've already put in the work.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Then they just are miserable. And I put a stat in there. I think people spend 91,000 hours of their life at work, doing work-related stuff. And 86% of people hate what they do and they're disengaged with what they do. So 86% of human beings are spent, spending 91,000 plus hours hating life.
Starting point is 00:28:38 And you wonder why there's all these problems, depression, all these things. So if people could just choose the right vehicle and start basing their future off of potential and off of what's possible, not their past, what a absolute difference in fulfillment, happiness, success, peace of mind, results, freedom, and all that stuff. That's why I put that in here. I was very strategic with the structure of the book to make sure if you don't have one of these rules, you won't be as fulfilled and satisfied. You could do all six rules, but if you don't have the right vehicle,
Starting point is 00:29:10 you probably will get the seven figures, but you'll hate it. You know what I mean? You'll hate it. Yeah. You'll hate it. I do. I do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:18 I mean, it's very comprehensive. I recommend everyone read it. And, you know, other than that awareness, other than to your point, because I want to be respect for your time here, I know we're coming up on the end. You know, you're asking yourself, what do I value most? Is it freedom? Is it structure? What is it?
Starting point is 00:29:33 you know let's say there's someone that's in that spot and looking to make a transition right and i don't know where they are um you know and their competency with the internet but what's the one thing that you would say to them other than read this book for uh for the road ahead um i would stack as much fuel and ammunition as possible of why you want to uh quit your job or start a business or make seven figures or have freedom for your family i would stack as many reasons as possible and motivation as possible. And then that's the first thing, because once the reasons come first, results come second. Reasons come first, results come second.
Starting point is 00:30:13 And then once you do that, you just have to start increasing your certainty, more certainty in your new venture than your old habits. And that is by doing due diligence, researching industries, researching entrepreneurship, and then slowly just transitioning and getting around people that are already doing what you want to do. so they can cut your learning curve in half. The best thing I would tell them out of everything, Eddie, is elevate your network. That's it. Elevate your network.
Starting point is 00:30:41 If you want a better life, if you want to be an entrepreneur, if you want to build a business, if you have known nothing about technology, elevate who you're around. Get around people who do. One of the biggest lessons in my entire life that have helped me the most, probably the most with bottom line results mixed with peace of mind, is realizing you don't have to have the answer. your network does every problem every problem i have solved the last three years big problems tax problems small problems hey man i have this i know you've done you've done nine 10 million a year i have this tax issue i need to figure this out oh yeah perfect okay thank you so much man call my contact
Starting point is 00:31:26 he'll give you the exact strategy that has solved that that has been the biggest game changer so that's my answer just network you don't have to solve your problems if you sit there and bang your head against the wall and try to solve your own problems when someone else has been there, it's stressful. So just cut your learning curve in half by doing that. And I give them the roadmap on how to elevate their network too and the scripts I use to reach out to people. I really part of me feels like I gave too much. I really gave everything. You know what I mean? So I'm excited for people to check it out. But that's what I would tell them is stack up reasons and get around higher level people. Gold, brother. Appreciate it. And I appreciate you hanging out.
Starting point is 00:32:04 sharing your knowledge. Where would you like people to connect with you? I'm on Instagram. I'm everywhere. If they want the book, it's on Amazon. And they can go, yeah, it would mean the world to me if you checked it out and gave an honest review on that. And they can go to 7 Rulesbook.com. There's some bonuses we put together. We're really, really excited about some of the bonuses. We gave an actual workbook with it and a clarity and strengths course that they can go through to actually learn how to maximize their value as an entrepreneur, just a little deeper dive than the book. So that's the two places, and I'd love to connect.
Starting point is 00:32:36 If they heard about me from your podcast, just tell them, let me know. And I'll definitely, if you have any questions, I'll be able to answer those as well. So thanks for your time, man. Thanks for the platform you've built for the life you're building. Much respect to you. I appreciate you. Likewise, brother. All the best.
Starting point is 00:32:51 I'll talk to you soon. Talk to you.
