Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, guys. Welcome to Your World Within Daily. My name's Eddie Panero, and I hope this day is starting off with some momentum. Hopefully we can add to that right now. I saw a notification that said the federal government's advocating for another month of this social distancing stuff. And I'm sure there's going to be a lot of news and a lot of craziness going on about that. I want to beat them to it. I want to get to you first. I want to let you know that this is what you need, this break, this pause. This disruption can be what you need, just like I said a week back. This can be the stretch where you look back and it changed everything for you.
Starting point is 00:00:51 We are losing social interaction, right, to a high degree. We're lessening it. Your sense of purpose, though, is not dissipating. this is time to think about that. That's so valuable. That is so crucial. The most important time of my day is when I go on my run or I take a walk and I think. And I come to conclusions that change my life or realizations that cause me to change, transform. Because I'm asking myself the difficult questions that just don't get asked in the day to day. You know, I need to put pause on life. to think clearly, to look at what I'm doing, holistically, rise above the minutia of my, you know, my action,
Starting point is 00:01:40 and ask myself if it's supporting my purpose, my goals, or do I need to adjust? And where I'm getting at is, you know, this is a pause. This is a chance to breathe. Sure, things are changing, right? I'm, you know, a lot of things have changed me. They've been canceled for me. You know, I'm taking a financial hit. I mean, these things are happening.
Starting point is 00:02:02 There's no doubt about it. But the win here can supersede that. I know that. I believe that. You know, disappearing for two months and coming out this monster with so much momentum that the world won't know what hit it. That's sort of the target that I'm after. That's what I'm trying to epitomize. Focusing on what works, removing what doesn't, and just going all in.
Starting point is 00:02:35 I had some setbacks. I lost some opportunities from this. fine that's gone but what i have what you have is so incredible i get asked a lot about resources to help with this right books and i always give the same answer particularly for entrepreneurs i always say the martian by andy weir the same one that was made the movie with matt damon um and let me explain why because there's a direct correlation almost in a too perfect of a way to the situation right now. So you have an astronaut.
Starting point is 00:03:18 It was on Mars with the crew. A situation happens. The crew has to leave this guy on Mars. They think he's dead. He's left for dead on a foreign planet with a few resources. The entire book is about him innovating, him staying positive, him looking at life through a lens of curiosity. to figure out, okay, this is what I need to live.
Starting point is 00:03:46 How do I take these pieces and bridge that gap? How do I make it happen? By the way, he's very social distanced. He's very alone, this guy. He's on a planet by himself. Problem comes up, problem comes up, problem comes up. Never once does he scream, why me? Not a lot of food, right?
Starting point is 00:04:14 He takes the potatoes left over from Thanksgiving, that his crew left. and figures out how to mass produce them in this little tent with oxygen so that he can live. And then he moves on to the next thing, water. And the next thing, shelter. And it's so, it's the perfect metaphor for life. You don't get overwhelmed. You never play your own violin, right? the sad song going on in your head.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Sometimes you play monopoly, you go to jail. You know, you got a bad role. That's life. Every movie has conflict. Sometimes you get left on Mars by your crew for dead. You know, that's the reality of this situation. You can't control a lot of what happens to you. But you can certainly control what you do about it.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Focus on the negative, right? The ship that left you, the crew that left you, the crew that's no longer there to support you? Or are you going to think about what can be? Are you going to think about being the one that did what no one else would even dream of doing? The one who took very little and made a lot. Who has the same pieces as everyone else, missing the same components everyone else has,
Starting point is 00:05:38 longing for the same things in a world less than ideal. but what you'll find is you have the pieces, conducive not only to survival, but innovation, progress, growth, the very thing you need. The same pieces everyone can see, but it's their value and their opportunity hidden in plain sight. That's what's in front of you right now. So today, let's take one step closer to acquiring.
Starting point is 00:06:19 that masterpiece.
