Your World Within Podcast by Eddie Pinero - When Others Would Let Go

Episode Date: July 14, 2020

In this episode I talk about the power of simply hanging on; not playing offense, bust defense. We tend to associate greatness with the home run or the big moment, when in reality, the spectacular is ...simply a culmination of little decisions to just hang on when things become challenging.

Starting point is 00:00:46 I'm putting out soon, a concept called When Others Let Go. And the idea is about the little things. Not the home runs, but the small decisions. decisions to hang on that make all the difference. So good morning, happy Tuesday. I am officially recording from my new location. Feeling good, feeling excited about it, and really excited about the content that I'm being or I'm delivering today, a video that is in the works.
Starting point is 00:01:30 It's in the editing process. But I wanted to give you a sneak peek. It's coming out on my Your World Within YouTube channel the next few days. and the idea is one of the most powerful concepts that I've come across in my life. And it's this idea that most people, when they think of what it means to really improve, to get what they want, to make a difference in their life, they think of the home run. They think of this grandiose step that must be taken when really it's not a matter of offense, it's defense. right it's it's hanging on to an edge and not letting go right not letting go when your arms start to shake
Starting point is 00:02:14 and your hand starts to hurt and your mind starts to tell you that there's no longer value here and that you'll be better where things are comfortable and they're simpler the ones that hang on when others let go are the ones that truly see differences in their lives that can make an impact. And that's what this video is about. And I'm going to play you a segment that talks about, you know, not the moon as the goal, right? Because you can't grab the moon, but you can focus on the staircase that takes you there. Each step is in your control. Life will always be about what you can control. It's understanding what you can't and being okay with that, but knowing what you're what you can change, what you can control in making the most of that.
Starting point is 00:03:08 And what I've learned, right, in my 32 years on this planet, is that refusing to quit is a decision. Hanging on is a decision, and it's a decision you can always make. Now, sometimes we rationalize, you know, walking away, right? Sometimes walking away is the right thing, but that's not what I'm talking about in this instance. I'm not talking about a calculated analytical decision. I'm talking about stopping something that's important to you because it hurts,
Starting point is 00:03:40 because it's uncomfortable, because it's easier to do something else. And so what I hope to communicate through this episode and ultimately the video when it comes out later in the week is that when others are letting go or when they would let go, when the 99.999% of the world would let go, you know you are the one that hangs on. And that's a very specific subcategory. It's a very powerful thing. And I want you to identify as that. Because what comes, what's unlocked
Starting point is 00:04:21 on the other side of that decision is what I believe to be the extraordinary, the exceptional. All right. So here is the clip. I hope you enjoy it and be on the lookout, your world within YouTube channel. This is the first video I've made since being in North Carolina with Zach. You know, all hands on deck. It's some really, really cool production. I'm really proud of it. And we hit the ground running. So I'm excited to share it with you. When others would let go, here's a segment and we'll catch you tomorrow. as I was once told, is that success is not always the spectacular. Sometimes it is simply hanging on when others would let go. When the world would hear that same faint whisper and bow down, because, oh, we all hear it.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Life is not a movie. There is no fixed ending, and where there are unknowns, there is fear. That's not rocket science. Unknown's equal fear. But if I may, let me explain something. Because where there is fear, there is also something else. And that something is opportunity. Like a curtain that must be pulled back, an ocean that must be crossed,
