Welcome to Your World Within Daily. I'm Eddie Panero.
And in this episode, we're going to talk about the power of creating adverse situations.
Or as the quote says, doing one thing a day that scares you solely to emerge victorious.
So I was writing yesterday for my latest YouTube release.
And I'm sitting there kind of thinking, what's the story you want to tell?
What is your latest epiphany or realization?
And can that help others?
can people take things away from it.
Usually when I check both of those boxes,
you know, that's when there's the biggest impact.
And I'm thinking, well, what have you learned, right?
My day consists of, you know, working and a run
that I've been doing in the middle of the day,
which I like the challenge of the run
because I'm in Miami and it's very hot.
And your time is way slower, obviously,
but you're not really doing it for time.
You know, I go out and I run seven or eight miles.
I listen to an audio book.
and just I enjoy the process.
And I started to ask myself, why?
Why?
What is it that you like about that?
You know, I draw a lot of my epiphanies and my metaphors from running
because to me, running is not just reflective of life.
It sort of is life.
In the sense that there is no finish line until you create one,
in the sense that there's always a point where things feel like, you know, hell, terrible,
and you push through.
In the sense that you are competing against yourself,
in the sense that a lot of the times the joy comes when you reach your benchmark
and you look back and you realize how much of yourself you gave,
like all of that to me bottles up into life.
They are one and the same.
So back to these runs, right?
That's the point of the whole story.
So I do seven or eight miles and I come back and I'm just beat up.
The sun beats you up.
I get in the shower and I was thinking like, why don't I just do it in the morning?
Right?
Like I used to do.
At one point I kind of gradually evolved and I started doing the middle of the day.
Like I love how it breaks it up, but it's a disruptor.
Which leads me to think, well, what is it that's so intriguing?
Like, why do I keep running back to this?
And I think it's because of the chaos it creates and the ability to emerge from it a little bit better.
It's a chance to create your demons, slay them, and emerge victorious again and again and again.
And there's such monumental power in that, right?
For me, it's running.
If I was a weightlifter, it would be weightlifting.
If I was a dancer, it would be dance.
I mean, I'm sure you understand.
but for me, this one little exercise provides an opportunity to re-equip myself for anything life will throw at me.
You know, it's like a little bit of armor every single day, and that's just such an incredible thing.
I quote Nietzsche all the time because, man, at this point, I just think he's one of the brightest minds I've ever come across.
I really enjoy reading his stuff.
He says, one must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.
And it's like you manufacture these little episodes of hell, of chaos, of discomfort, strictly to come out victorious.
Just so you can say that you slayed that dragon.
And it's so powerful.
powerful enough that, you know, I wanted to share that with everyone.
And, you know, it's on YouTube now and I'm going to put it at the end of this video
or the end of this episode.
And hopefully you can take something from that.
You know, that's always the goal here.
You get nothing from safety, from no disruption, no change.
It is that turmoil that's so magical.
Man, I forget that.
Maybe Eleanor Roosevelt.
Again, it's scary to quote people because it's never really the person that said it.
But, you know, do one thing every day that scares you.
Create an arena for yourself.
Oh my God, this is another good video too.
Create an arena for yourself where you can go in.
You can become the hero, right?
You can rise above the adversity and come out a little bit better.
If you can do that every single day, man, what you become when you look back,
it's really an incredible thing, you know,
and it's exciting to look back and see how far you come,
but it's exciting to look forward and imagine what it will be,
you know, the opportunity, the prospect of tomorrow,
of thousands of little steps, what that can mean.
So I'm going to play when the sun comes up.
And on YouTube, I think it's labeled right now as running motivation
or best running motivation, whatever,
kind of playing to the algorithm a little bit
so I don't get buried underneath all the other running stuff.
But it'll be there on my channel if you look for it.
So without further ado, here is when the sun comes up.
There's an African proverb.
It states every morning a gazelle wakes up
and knows it must outrun the fastest lion
or it will be killed.
Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up and knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle.
When the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Because stagnation is losing.
Because wishing is a sealed fate.
Because immobility is regret.
As David Goggins says, you are either getting better or you are getting worse.
And in a world comprised of no finish lines, that really simplifies the picture, doesn't it?
Because this has nothing to do with yesterday.
For the self-defeating stories you used to tell yourself, it's about what reality can become.
And the best news you'll ever hear is that the steps that brought you to right now, they are not the same steps that will carry you forward.
Every single sunrise is a chance to chase down that which sets your soul on fire.
Lion or gazelle, day or night, it is never too late to become what you have.
never been to rewrite your story.
Not for the doubters or the naysayers, but for you.
See, they'll never get it.
They'll never understand that your progress is your happiness, why you'd endure the depths
of hell twice to be five seconds faster, a little better to build a little higher.
It's not nuance.
It is survival, woven into your DNA, and,
just as much a part of you as the heart in your chest.
See, today is a currency.
The most valuable entity you possess.
Clay where dreams are molded.
Light that turns unknowns into outcomes,
impossibles into stepping stones.
It's why each step is so precious.
Because each one is a bridge to a part of you yet to be explained.
See, Nietzsche said it best, one must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star.
It is why we build these metaphorical arenas, because without them, there are no dragons to slay,
there are no mountains to climb or armies to conquer.
It is from chaos that order is born.
Every crack of the sword brings understanding.
When the sun comes up, there is no wishing for a better world.
There is creating in yourself the one who will make it better.
The one who will lead, himself and others,
who will find amidst the horizon the existence of a world within.
With it.
