The answer you're looking for is right there in the room, always.
Now, that's certainly a bold statement.
And as I've gotten older, I've kind of learned to avoid speaking in absolutes.
Nothing in life is 100% guaranteed.
So why am I so confident about that message?
Everything you need is right there in the room always.
Well, because I believe in the premise, you're always one decision away from a totally different life.
And when we're stuck or lost or looking for change, we need not some crazy, grandiose answer
to be delivered from the heavens.
We need to find the little action, the tiny movement that's going to set us forth on the
journey.
We need this snowflake that will become this snowball that will become the avalanche.
It seems like so much of life comes down to simply outsmarting our biology.
like the panic or the emotive defense mechanisms that come into play when we're sad or lost
or feeling unsure or down.
And it's an absolute superpower to know that when we're in those moments, what we need is an arm's length away.
It's a perspective shift away.
And I look over my shoulder and I see tons of examples here, right?
With my keynote speaking, there was a period where it just wasn't quite clicking.
where I knew I wasn't performing the way I could.
And I was going back and forth on solutions,
trying different things, experimenting,
not quite getting there, feeling overwhelmed.
It's like, why can't I recreate there what I'm doing here?
And then one email to the person who's now my speaking coach,
and I had my light bulb moments.
Like everything started to transform.
Or my YouTube channel, right?
It's up, down, up, down.
everything in between.
And like I've said before,
there are times where a simple thumbnail change
and that video explodes,
causing the channel to explode.
That's not a big, grandiose thing.
I can always change a thumbnail.
That answer is sitting in the palm of my hand with my phone.
Or an example that falls on the more human side of things, right?
There are times where, you know,
I felt like I've neglected the relationships in my life
in order to really focus on my creativity and my businesses.
Sometimes that mentally doesn't feel good.
And I can pick up the phone, start a group chat,
plan a dinner with some friends,
and feel like my cup has been refilled.
It's like you don't have to have it all figured out,
which is great news because you never will.
You just need to start creating momentum.
There's nothing more powerful than going to bed at night
feeling like you are moving towards something meaningful.
Again, does it mean you need to have it all figured out,
but in a world where progress largely equates to happiness,
it means you are actively manufacturing momentum.
That's everything.
You know, I often think of my friend's son, Wyatt.
He's become sort of a metaphor for that childlike instinct
that seems to be the answer for so much.
He's wandering around the living room, just reusing everything as it suits him.
The world is not as it, quote unquote, is, it's as he sees it.
Picks up a TV remote, becomes a microphone, finds a blanket, becomes the roof for the fort he's building in the living room.
Everything is a solution to what he needs.
Everything is a color that can go on his canvas.
I think that's the place we need to be.
That's the idea.
The next brush stroke is in the room.
Maybe it's a phone call, an email.
Maybe it's a walk outside, a stroll to the gym.
Maybe it's literally cleaning your room, your apartment, or a house.
Maybe it's one social media post.
Maybe it's a DM.
Maybe it's 10 pages of a book.
Maybe it's watching a how-to YouTube video.
Maybe it's signing up for a class, meeting up with someone to talk.
business, life, or anything in between.
See, we spend so much time trying to get to the moon
that we overlook the staircase it'll take to get there.
Oh, and surprise, step one is at your feet.
Don't think miracle.
Think momentum.
It's very hard to slow down an object in motion.
So stop beating yourself up for not having all the answers
and simply keep moving.
Don't feel down for not having all the solutions and be proud you're walking towards them.
Remember, everything you need is in the room, always.
There's a quote that states, life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
Which means that your reaction is drastically more important than the circumstance.
And that's critical to know.
It's critical to understand that nothing.
No one in life has more power over your own situation than you.
And there's an old story that hits on this point.
Exactly.
There's a father and a daughter.
And basically the daughter is complaining.
She's complaining about life, how difficult things are.
She's just know how she's going to make it in whatever it is she's doing.
I mean, the bottom line is she's tired of the day to day, right?
And her father gets this idea.
He says, come with me into the kitchen.
And he gets three pots of water,
puts them on the stove and turns the burner zone.
As soon as they start boiling,
he drops a potato in the first one,
an egg in the second one,
and some coffee beans in the third one.
And after some time goes by and they boil a little bit,
he pulls them out, right?
He puts the potato in a bowl.
He puts the egg in a bowl.
And he takes a ladle and he puts some of the coffee in a cup.
And he says, what do you see?
She says, well, I see a potato.
I see eggs and I see coffee.
He says, yeah, but look closer.
There's more there.
And she goes and she touches the potato and it's now soft.
And he hands her the bowl with the boiled egg.
And she takes the shell off and breaks it open.
She sees that it's hard inside.
Then finally, he asked her to take a sip of the coffee.
and she smells it, she takes a sip,
and a smile comes to her face.
She says, so what does all this mean?
What are you trying to say?
And he says, well, the potato, when I dropped it in the water,
it was rigid, it was tough, it was uncompromising,
but in the boiling water, it became soft, weak.
Then you have the egg that was basically the opposite.
This delicate layer, protecting a liquid center,
and the boiling water made it hard.
And then there was the coffee.
That wasn't just changed by the situation.
It created something new.
It took the same adversity
and used it as a lever
to bring something beautiful into existence.
He then looks at his daughter and says,
look, when things become challenging,
when things become difficult,
which one are you?
What's you?
your approach.
See, maybe the question is not about how challenging the situation is, right?
Maybe we've been asking the wrong question.
Maybe it's how do you transform yourself and by default the world around you?
How do you take your strengths, your values, your loves, your joys, your happiness and
let that lead you into something bigger?
When life gets hard and it's
It does.
What do you become?
I always remind myself, you know, we are not defined by life at peak state.
As much as I wish that were the case, right?
We're not shaped by the easy days or the times that we floated by.
Because those times are great, they're enjoyable, but they're not what make or break us.
It's the times that challenge us and ask us to be what we.
have not yet become. That's the good stuff. And this is another one of those, you know, simple,
but not easy type things, because on paper it makes sense. It's understood. But it's an outlook
that manifests over time. It's slowly stacked piece by piece and brick by brick,
realizing that every situation provides you with tools to make something out of an apparent
nothing and then it waits because fate is in your hands and I can certainly think of you know times in
my life that's one of the reasons I love these stories I can reflect where each one of those pots
of boiling water was relevant right I can think of times I was too headstrong like the metaphorical
potato I thought success would be easy I thought projects would be simple to execute I spent months
doing things that just weren't good because I didn't ask what is the
world need. I asked myself, what do I want to give the world? And there has to be a marriage there,
right? And it was a quick reminder that the world owes me nothing. I was humbled or softened as the
story goes. I've been the egg. I've been timid. I've been uncertain, thin-skinned,
worrying about what people would say or the content I was creating, worried about perception.
How would things look if I failed? And very quickly, I learned.
that when life is a game of comparison or one-upmanship,
when you do things for reasons and people other than yourself,
can't win.
You overcompensate, you do things for the wrong reasons,
and you lose yourself, you become hardened.
And then there's the good stuff, right?
Getting to the coffee, not bowing down to the circumstances,
but shaping them.
Not letting life dictate,
dictate how the story goes or the fate of your character.
And what's interesting is I'm pretty sure that being that metaphorical egg and the potato,
they lay the foundation to become the coffee, the life lessons, the falling down, the picking my
ego up off the floor, learning to trust myself, not be led by the opinions and expectations
of others.
You essentially learn that you can take the world around you and change it, that it is malleable, it is flexible.
You have that power.
You have that ability.
It's up to you to believe it.
And that's critical because no one comes along and cosigns that understanding for you.
It's an internal process.
You start to learn that things aren't there to provide instruction.
They're there to propel you.
But can you see the unknown as the opportunity, the obstacle is the way, and the loss is the armor that you pick up during the journey?
And so, you know, all of these words essentially come to one point.
And that point is you have so much more control over your life than you think you do.
As I've said before, you are stronger than you think you are.
You are more resilient than you can even imagine.
And when life tests you, and again, it will, remember that the challenges are not happening to you, but for you.
The world isn't taking away what you have, it's giving you what you need.
So long as you're willing to adapt with it, to grow.
Expand out because you not only have the ability to change yourself, but the world as well.

Why is it that the average person seeks out the advice of what feels like a million people
before consulting himself?
Knocking, looking, hoping, is he looking for answer?
Or looking for permission to be who he already knows he is?
Is he looking for insight or just validation that his reflection is in fact okay?
See, I think we all deep down know who we are, know what drives us.
And even if we don't know exactly what the destination looks like our hearts know the direction.
Best suited to begin the pursuit.
So how is it so easy to forget?
Why do we get our antennas crossed?
See, when life becomes about meeting,
requirements and fulfilling obligations, checking off boxes, and checking in on time, we forget
the basics.
We forget to live for ourselves, as if our job is to play a part, not direct the movie.
And playing apart is living up to expectations.
Directing the movie, well, that's creating your own expectation.
This world, your world, it belongs to you.
It's a world with both unimaginable happiness, bliss moments of ecstasy, and the occasional suffering,
chaos that we have to navigate through, but I think all of it comes down to whether you trust yourself to live it for yourself.
To remove the shackles, take the training wheels off, stop asking permission and do what you've always known was the right thing.
That part never changed.
It just had to wait amidst all you're looking for external direct.
for you to pause and find the internal courage.
Freedom is not a life without chaos.
It's trusting yourself to determine which dragons you will slay.
It's not a life without battles.
But fighting those battles that result in your liberation,
dismissing the oppressors that build fences in your mind
and chains around your soul,
I've thought a lot about the idea of a life well lived.
What it means, how it feels, and it feels,
It seems to me it's about intentionality.
Where are you going?
It's not that you can escape suffering or eliminate fear.
It's not that you'll avoid getting lost along the way, but it's the why.
Why we endure these things makes all the difference.
Is it for a better tomorrow or simply to get through today?
And it's amazing.
Accidentally stumbling upon that which scares you
and intentionally facing that which scares you are so different
that their occurrences trigger completely different neural networks in the brain.
See, overcoming fear is ingrained in us.
We want to grow.
We want to evolve.
We need more.
The question is whether you will step out of the line that someone else made for you
and live a life that is your own.
And if it's crazy, great.
Let it be crazy.
If it's unique, perfect.
Stand out.
scares you, my God, if it scares you don't turn back, don't you dare turn back. Give yourself
the most important permission one can give, the permission to follow your intuition and your
curiosity into tomorrow. Let the stakes be higher, but the rewards be meaningful. Let the chaos
be your own to tame and to master. Every twist, every turn becomes not only a part of you,
but a chapter in the story of your becoming.
And as the seed you've held in your hand for so long
finally meets the earth and grows so high
that it connects you to the heavens,
remember that this is your life.
It's your obligation to live it fully.
Sometimes we need to understand
the gravity of the situation that we are in.
We need to know the reason
We need to capture the whys and why not.
But sometimes it's simpler than that.
Sometimes it's just about giving.
Sometimes it's so incredibly simple
that nothing else is necessary.
See, here's the deal.
There is more in you to give.
And every once in a while, you have a decision to make.
Not because you owe it to any,
or because you're supposed to,
but because your mind wonders what it would be like
to look back on this moment
and ask yourself,
what?
So you stretch.
You give more.
And maybe it's one extra set of push-ups.
Maybe it's one more mile,
maybe it's one phone call, one more hour in the studio,
it is the little,
little advantage. The one that you didn't have to do and why would you? You could have easily
walked out and left it on the floor just like everyone else does. But what if? What if you
dipped your toe in the crazy? What if you left the rationality behind you with yesterday's
standards? After all, greatness requires a little insanity. Actions
out of the norm, the yes, when most would say no.
Why? Because it hurts.
More hurts.
Being proud hurts.
Greatness hurts.
Oh, but the top, how good it feels.
And see, this is the part where you think about one thing.
Digging deeper, finding more.
The part of you waiting to be uncathed.
It never reveals itself.
It must be found, discovered.
It must be brought to life.
See, that pain that you're viewing in the moment, it goes away.
The body, it recovers.
They're not in this equation.
It's just you and the victory that will live with you for the rest of your life.
The conquering of this moment.
Again, our world, it is simple.
There is more on the table.
Will you take it?
Will you build something now?
That will stay with you forever.
There's something about the way we perceive success that results in one of the greatest tragedies
of our time.
And that's the belief that successful people, the ones at the top of their game, that talent
is what punched their ticket, that destiny brought them to the finish line.
And that's wrong.
It's wrong because it takes the journey, the struggle, the scratching, and clawing that it
took to get to the top of the mountain and throws it out the window.
It completely mitigates what's most important.
In the real world, the one we are living in, it doesn't matter who you are, you are never
entitled to a result.
Victory is the product of the fight.
biggest favor you can ever do for yourself as you progress through life's up and downs
through the good and the bad when things get rough is know that you are going through what every
successful person, every champion, every innovator has gone through in the history of mankind.
Struggle is beautiful.
It's a sign that you are in the midst of what separates great from average.
It's a necessary step and it's the most important step you will ever take because 99% of people can't see past it.
Right? The world sees struggle, sees hardship as a time to pack it up, to walk away, to be intimidated.
But the best, I'm telling you, they look at struggle differently.
Just like you can't get fit without blood, sweat, and tears at the gym.
You can't make deals without the hustle.
You can't make things happen if you don't move forward in the face of adversity.
When the word no is staring you in the eyes, it's all part of the process.
Winners walk on.
If you want something bad enough, you know that being uncomfortable is an ingredient.
If you want to be the best, your mindset has to reflect the best.
Right, let others focus on the tip of the iceberg.
You know excellence lies in everything underneath the surface in what cannot be seen
So take mediocrity and make it excellent take what's yours and hold it up for the world
Because what hurts now in the present is the very same thing that will transform your life down the road
When you find the courage you walk out your front door and realize darkness is not a permanent
state, but the absence of light. And you have within your soul, fire, sufficient to set the world
ablaze. You don't make what you need. You are what you need. A piece of the infinite. Descendant of
stars proof of the impossible. When you find the courage, you alter the very story being etched
into the sands of time, an undertaking that makes one's knees shake and hands tremble,
a decision that costs the ability to avoid discomfort.
When you find the courage, living is at the expense of that which must now die.
And to turn the door handle in front of you means closing the one from which you came.
is deciding that watching life through a window is no longer sufficient.
That what you have is not a product of the way things should be,
but how you've allowed them to unfold.
See, a choice is not a thing.
A choice is an action.
A deliberate decision to see life differently.
To see your circumstances differently.
To see your outcomes differently.
To see your trials and tribulations differently.
What you don't know is a gift, willing to reveal itself and lift you up should you find the courage.
This world has seen empires rise and fall.
It's brought in the new, cleansed itself of the old, and chapter by chapter the present becomes the past,
culminating into the laws by which we operate.
All of them stand upon a foundation of courage, conscious decisions for most.
to change things, to be better, do better, to advance the rate in which better is obtained.
In a world of noise, clutter, if you remember one thing, remember this, you have nothing to lose.
How could you, when we operate in an arena that simply waits for us to inject meaning into it?
Just like the chapter before you, your last page will ultimately turn.
But what do you want those words to say?
What stories do you want told?
How much meaning do you want to pour into the words
that will forever emanate off the lips of those that come after you?
Because the day you're experiencing,
the thoughts dancing around in your head, the air pouring through your lungs,
they are zero obligation and 100% opportunity,
a thing of beauty.
That is why.
we must find the courage to step out.
To see what we can pull from the universe.
It's not greedy or selfish or irresponsible.
It's why you were put on this planet.
To make the most of your ride, to create magic.
So leave the excuses.
Stop thinking through a lens of scarcity
and find the courage to redraw reality's parameters.
Push them further and further back until nothing is out.
is out of the realm of possibility until you've realized the control you've had from day one as you
watch life through a window and wonder what it could bring you find the courage to answer that
question and never look back you had a vision a vision to build something that they've never seen
before but they gave it one look and called it insanity you were a vision to build something that they've never seen before but they gave it
worked hour after hour for little reward.
They watched from a distance and deemed it irrational.
You simplified your life until it consisted of only your goal.
But amidst convoluted objectives and routines,
they declared it a tragedy.
You failed and you failed, but you would not give in.
And entertained by this struggle, they called you stubborn.
Through it all, you never lost faith.
They sat back and called it delusional.
And then something happened.
You succeeded.
You succeeded like no one else before.
And when you shared your result, they called it genius.
When you told your story, they admired the persistence.
When you uncovered your knowledge, you're learning, your expertise, they asked for advice.
See, you provided a blueprint, yet few people follow.
Now they call you gifted, lucky, and you shake your head because as you made that climb,
something became very obvious to you.
This word insanity, defined as extreme foolishness or irrationality, this is what got you.
to where you are today.
And on the surface, when you took that first step, it was insanity.
You left what was known, you were questioned, doubted, you looked in experience, you fell on your
face.
An hour after hour, you prayed that it was not in vain, and some days it felt like it was.
But every single day, you left something behind.
The things that you'd outgrown, the things that would have surrounded your every move,
Had you stayed in that spot, had you been intimidated by the depths of what they call insanity?
But you didn't.
You traded them for a chance to get what matters most.
And now as you gain perspective, you see what was insane yesterday is now everyday reality.
It's what you do without giving it a second thought and you want more.
Just the taste made you want more.
To see what's out there, to see how far you can be.
push, that is life. And as you prepare to continue down the road ahead of you, the peaks, the valleys,
the twists, the turns, the ups and the downs, you realize that the only thing in this world
that qualifies as insanity is being unwilling to take that next step, the fear of standing
out, of being different, of living a life that was meant for you, that you deserve.
Because to disregard that opportunity, oh the insanity.
