Episode Date: June 25, 2025

Sometimes the weight we carry isn’t what's ahead of us, it’s what we refuse to leave behind. This video is a reminder that forward is the only direction that builds us. In order to know how fa...r we can go, we have to go there. No shortcuts. No turning around. Just the open road, our will, and the belief that the life we want begins when we stop looking back. This is the way.More from Eddie Pinero:Monday Motivation Newsletter: https://www.eddiepinero.com/newsletterYour World Within Podcast: https://yourworldwithin.libsyn.com/Stream these tracks on Spotify - https://spoti.fi/2BLf6pBInstagram - @your_world_within and @IamEddiePineroTikTok - your_world_withinFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/YourworldwithinTwitter - https://www.twitter.com/IamEddiePineroBusiness Inquiries - http://www.yourworldwithin.com/contact

Starting point is 00:00:00 There's a threshold you can't see. That is, until you cross it. Think about this. A world you don't even know exists. And you never encounter that reality until you leave the comfort of the one that you've always known. I've learned this again and again, and I will learn it many times into the future.
Starting point is 00:00:29 You think you know your limits. Maybe because you feel like you're playing on the edges, touching the walls of your routine and calling that the perimeter of your power. But that's not the truth. That's just what you've grown used to. And see, there's a monumental discrepancy between those two things. There is a version of you right now, living in the shadows of what could be. A version you'll only meet when you go.
Starting point is 00:01:07 farther than you've ever gone. But the only way to find out how far you can go is to risk going too far. That's when the walls break. That's when the illusion of normal crumbles. Because as comfortable and familiar as normal was, it was never your ceiling. It was, and we'll call it more of a sandbox, a cage,
Starting point is 00:01:38 a box you unknowingly chose to live in. And when you step out, when you face the resistance, the fatigue, the voice screaming, enough, I'm done, and still you don't stop, you see it. For the first time you feel it. Not some facade. Not some made-up story or narrative.
Starting point is 00:02:17 or narrative. No, you come face to face with that version of you that has always been there, just buried. Right beneath the comfort and fear and excuses, right beyond the normal sea that clouds our vision. This is the belly of the beast. And contrary to how I've thought in the past, contrary to maybe the easiest trap to fall into, That chaos is not there to break you. It's there to introduce you to the real you. The one who does not run from challenges, but instead walks towards them with open arms.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Because in this place, you learn the most important lesson of all. You have been playing small. You've been living at half speed. telling yourself that it was full throttle. And maybe it wasn't intentional. Maybe you've wanted more all along. Well, surprise, this is your reminder that it's there. Unpacking it, unboxing it has to be intentional.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Now that you know, once you've seen it, it can never be unseen. This is just the beginning, knocking down wall after wall, wall after wall breaking barrier after barrier. So go. Don't go far. Go too far. Go further than feels necessary or rational.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Go further than your mind in its present state can even comprehend because that's the only way to find out how far you can truly go. So question, how many best-selling books were almost written? And how many Oscar-winning movies were almost made? How many multi-million dollar businesses were almost started? How many lifelong relationships? Almost initiated, but weren't. So a few years ago, I was going to run a half marathon with my sister.
Starting point is 00:05:11 We were in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, visiting our parents. and I think it was a Thanksgiving half marathon. Or maybe it was so. I can't remember. So, you know, I've been training and working towards it. And the day of the race, I'm super sick. Like stuff knows, all congested, coughing. And so obviously I'm kind of weighing the pros and cons and thinking,
Starting point is 00:05:38 I'm not going to do this today, right? It's unfortunate. I'll cheer my sister on. But as we get there, I think, what's the worst that could happen? I have to walk. Who cares? So I lace up and I go, which seems like a very unremarkable thing until I start going and feeling really good. And I don't know how to rationalize that or why I felt so good.
Starting point is 00:06:07 But it carried on throughout the entire race and I ended up getting a personal best. And the reason that that race stuck with me and I never forgot about it is because of how close I was to saying no How close I was to Missing what would have been the best run of my life at the time in that distance And how many times in life we do the same thing Like how many times do we Turn our backs on what would have completely transformed our world or maybe not even quit before we began but stopped early, you know, felt too much doubt and insecurity,
Starting point is 00:06:50 became too impatient. And if we just hung on, right, like there's an idea that so many people gave up not knowing how close they were to the exact result they were looking for. when any action can bring you that much closer. And every day is another step towards that goal. So you have to remember that. There are so many things in life that you're capable of bringing to the world that you're stopping just short of. Every single dream, vision or idea in your life
Starting point is 00:07:54 starts with a simple understanding. understanding, that it's obtainable, that you can make it real. That's the beginning of everything. Self-belief is the gatekeeper that stands between current and future. See, if you think of reality as these city walls you're living in, it's not crazy to think that there are going to be people that only know that existence, within the walls, right? That's what they see.
Starting point is 00:08:25 That's what most believe. It's how they live. It is only self-belief, a confidence in something greater outside those walls that opens the gate, that expands your reality. And if you don't believe anything good exists on the other side, why begin?
Starting point is 00:08:45 If you don't think you're capable of getting there, why start? And this formula is simple, right? Let's not overthink it. We only move towards outcomes. that we believe to be possible. And that's more important than ability, skill set, strength. I mean, you name it.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Believing in yourself trumps all that. Because the person with an inferior skill set, maybe an average natural talent, but they believe in something and they move towards it. They give everything for this idea. They know it to be true. It will always be the talented person that's unsure. The procrastinates that has one foot in and one foot out.
Starting point is 00:09:31 And if you don't believe in yourself, you're building a city on sand, because I'll tell you what great things, they're great for a reason. They're in rare supply, they're limited, which means not everyone can have them. Which means those who do have them have to fight for them, have to deal with being uncomfortable, have to give more, sacrifice more, pay a steeper price than the masses. And if you don't look in the mirror, stare yourself in the face and know you are one of those select few. What's going to happen when life kicks back in you?
Starting point is 00:10:10 You'll fall. You'll resort back to what you know. You'll flee the battle for safety, security, and comfort. But when you know your movie ends at the top of the mountain, when you know at the end of the day, You're going to cross a finish line or hold a trophy. Your brain internalizes conflict differently, very differently. For someone with self-belief, obstacles don't make you wonder if you should keep going. Because you already know you have to keep going.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I mean, come on, you haven't arrived yet. There's still a road to travel. No, in this situation, obstacles simply prompt you to ask how. How can I get through this? And that's a small discrepancy that changes everything. Because at some point, you'll look to your right and you'll look to your left, and you'll find very few people get to the how question. They all stopped at if.
Starting point is 00:11:10 I wonder if I can do this. I wonder if I'm capable. Well, they'll never know. They'll never see that sunset beyond those metaphorical city walls. Because they never truly believed in themselves. They never opened that gate. Look, I went through 16 years of education without a teacher or professor telling me,
Starting point is 00:11:36 Eddie, 99% of life is just believing in yourself to figure challenges out as they come. To figure life out as it comes. That's it. Only X percent make it through law school. Only Y percent succeed at this and that. That's what you hear. But no, none of that.
Starting point is 00:11:56 matters. It's simple, it's simple, it's simple. Most of the world quits when things get challenging. If you don't, if you have the courage to believe in trust in yourself, you'll succeed. Why? Because you won't stop until you find a way. That's the power of self-belief. It's not quantum physics. It's not complex. You know, at one point, I didn't think I could make a living outside of a cubicle or office building. Then I saw others do it. And for the first time in my life, I believed it was possible.
Starting point is 00:12:31 I changed my actions to support my beliefs. And here we are. At one point, I didn't think certain financial goals were reality. I didn't know about a free, flexible lifestyle. I wasn't aware of the type of relationships that would change my life. Why? Because they existed outside those city walls.
Starting point is 00:12:51 I didn't believe they were real. I didn't believe in myself to create them, to make them in my own life. But with the change in belief comes a change in reality. You will always follow through on who you believe you are. So let's go back to that mirror visualization. At some point today, look at your reflection and think about nothing but what I'm about to tell you. Everything you need, you have. I promise you, you are equipped to change your life, the lives of everyone around you, and the world in which you exist.
Starting point is 00:13:31 So take that back, feel it, and never ask it again. From now on, the question is how. Your fate is not a coin flip, it's a puzzle. It's about arranging the pieces. And those two eyes looking back at you are more than capable of figuring that out. Ask simply, do you want it? And if yes, open that front door, take that first step and inject yourself into a journey that will be unlike anything you've ever experienced before. A journey where you have the answers, the aptitude, and now the self-belief.
Starting point is 00:14:12 And when you find yourself in the lowest of lows or the darkest of nights, find solace in that fact that, that that will be more than enough to get you to darn. Hated but never simply tolerated. In life, you can live to chase opportunity or you can live to avoid failure. And there are two very different things. Rather than pursue, we often avoid. We avoid failure.
Starting point is 00:15:02 We avoid criticism. We don't want to ruffle feathers or disrupt. No. choose to simply exist, never condemned but never extraordinary, just tolerated. And it's an interesting dilemma because the best things exist on the extremes, life's fringes. That's where you find your accolades, your accomplishments, that's what we celebrate, it's where you need to be. And you get there not by worrying about what everyone around you things, but by taking your strength, your unique self holding on and pressing the
Starting point is 00:15:50 pedal to the floor going all in. And yeah, that means suddenly, my friend, you are exposed. You are vulnerable, you are now out there. It means those who don't have the courage to chase their dreams, they will find you threatening and they will let you know. But it also means that the shackles are off. The door is open, the light is green, and you can build from the ground up you can build the life you want. The finish line has now become more visible than the prospect of falling along the way,
Starting point is 00:16:30 and you've granted yourself permission to run through it. Sure, some will love you for these accomplishments, some will hate you for these accomplishments, but let me reiterate the word accomplishment. Because when you live to be invisible, it's a term that rarely presents itself, I promise. Life, it rewards the bold. Those who are bold in their beliefs, bold in their actions, their dreams, and their pursuits. They are not for anyone but you. And years later, when you look in the mirror, you'll know that you gave every single thing you had to a life that meant something to you.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Loved, yes, hated, sure, but merely tolerated, no. What's the difference between simple and easy? Well, simple is straightforward, uncomplicated. Easy, on the other hand, means achieved without great effort. The difference between those two words is subtle, but essential to understand. One deals with the complexity of an outcome. The other, your will and determination to achieve that outcome. Becoming who you most want to be is simple.
Starting point is 00:18:24 But becoming who you most want to be is not easy. Just like walking is simple, yet hiking up a mountain is not easy. The procedure didn't change the context did. So let's talk about context. Let's talk about this cyclical nature of growth because it's not that most people can't. It's that most people won't. It's not that most people don't get how. It's that they don't have a strong enough why.
Starting point is 00:18:55 The path is laid out before you. You just have to be willing to walk down it. Will you? Step one, realize there's more out there. It's not that what you're doing now isn't amazing. It's just that yesterday's act of courage is now today's status quo. What was the spectacular is now the mundane. What was once the ceiling you had to jump to touch is now the floor you walk on, so at the
Starting point is 00:19:34 very least it prompts you to ask, well, what's next? Simple. Not easy. easy. Step two, the acquisition of courage. Yesterday's courage was a fight. It took a lot out of you, and it's ultimately what got you here. But it dropped you at the curb, it waved goodbye and went on its merry way, and here you are. You can stay here. A lot of people do. You can reminisce of the glory days, the old path yesterday's triumphs. Or, you can do that perpetually, uncomfortable exercise of vulnerability.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Stepping into tomorrow's unknown, reminding yourself that life's greatest rewards have a hefty price tag and that price is discomfort. But I've already played this game, one might think. No, what you did was learn the rules. Now it's time to apply them to a new setting and around goes the merry-go-round. It might seem like a replication from the horizontal,
Starting point is 00:20:46 but here's the secret. You can't see the vertical. You have yet to look down and see your ascent, see what you're becoming. Just by staying on, holding tight, just by believing in yourself enough to begin again, you are fanning those tiny flames of courage in your soul that wait to be spread like a wildfire. Simple, but not easy. Step three, mistakes. Now, of course, it's not the mistakes themselves, you fear.
Starting point is 00:21:25 It's what you think those mistakes will mean. Ridicule, embarrassment, lack of direction or identity, losing what you have. But here's the catch. When you realize the upside is greater than the downside, you liberate yourself. When you realize there's more to gain than to lose, your potential for greatness is born. How does one act? on this mistakes by making mistakes by injecting yourself into the turbulence of progress our biology has not yet learned that the uncomfortable thing is the right thing and
Starting point is 00:22:05 that's why you get resistance that's why it hurts and it's why few people will accomplish what you will when it comes to your climb every day is opposite day when they run out you're running in when they play safe you play for the victory To become who you might be, you must learn how to get there. Mistakes are your curriculum. Simple, but not easy. Step four, trust yourself. Okay, sure, no problem, easy.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Well, yeah, it's easy when you're getting what you want. But evolution takes time, and there's nothing quite like giving and giving and giving and not getting. There's nothing quite like stepping up to the plate again and again and again and bringing no runners home. So how does one find the strength to continue walking up to the batters box? Well, growth is exponential. And those swings and misses matter. The infield singles matter. Everything matters. Because it's all chiseling your future self out of stone. Nothing is dependent on the next at bat as much as all at bats in the aggregate. That's why success is so often
Starting point is 00:23:32 considered to be sheer will, dependent not on the home run, but on the discipline. and the self-belief to keep walking up to the plate. Repetition and adjustment. Repetition and adjustment. Repeat and refine, repeat, refine. Those are the materials from which all things are made. Simple, but not easy. And then we have the finale.
Starting point is 00:23:56 The ending, step five. Celebrate and adjust. At some point, you'll be able to look over your shoulder. and noticed something that perhaps you hadn't before. Space. Space between where you are and where you started. It's not sudden, but gradual. And undoubtedly, with enough persistence, it will emerge.
Starting point is 00:24:20 These moments, they are precious. They are times to acknowledge what you've accomplished, the sacrifices you have made. They are life's way of reminding you what you are building and who you are becoming. It's a time of celebration. Every little win means. something every small victory matters so relish in it and then transform it normalize it recognize that
Starting point is 00:24:47 that mountaintop is your foundation now your starting point has changed and so have you which means so have your expectations with an increase in ability comes an upgrade to what's possible what's expected and look at that we have arrived at a new step one Realize there is more. This is the process for capturing that which life has to offer. If you can fall in love with that, appreciate it, respect it, while simultaneously understanding it's not scary, it's dependent entirely on your ability to push forward.
Starting point is 00:25:30 If you can understand that, there is nothing you can't do. Nowhere you can't go. Simple, yes, easy, no. But you're not in this for easy. You're in it for the journey, the growth, the adventure. You're in it because it's not easy. You'll see in time, as will the world, that this decision to endure was simply the best one you ever made.
Starting point is 00:26:14 You're right where you need to be. Sure, you have your doubts. Perhaps you feel tired, alone, fearful. Maybe you're trying to make sense of a world that feels too complex. Or all you see and here are reasons to turn back, to find shelter, to run, don't. Regardless of how hard it seems, don't. You are right where you need to be. Turning thoughts to things, making life from dreams, what makes change so interesting.
Starting point is 00:27:02 So powerful yet deceptive is that it comes to us in small doses. Not a tidal wave of transformation, but a slow, steady, rising tide of progress. No one feels the tug of erosion, yet it chips away. and so do you. We're moving piece by piece behold you the world you're moving away from and piece by piece
Starting point is 00:27:34 you unveil the promise of your becoming you may not see the whole picture you may not understand the whole story but right now in real time it's being told and you are right where you need We just weren't equipped to understand what that looks like. It's never been what you see that makes you uneasy.
Starting point is 00:28:08 It's what's missing. That's what hurts. The solutions you wanted, the changes you expected, the finish lines you envisioned. It's the wondering, how long must I wait? Did I make a wrong turn? joke on me, but it's this line of questioning that causes so many to stop. Unaware of how close they were, ignorant to the foundation they were standing on. What you need is not a miracle.
Starting point is 00:28:49 It's to simply carry on. To keep laying those bricks because not a one is one. wasted. And sometimes you don't realize you're on the 80th floor until you look down. That climb can be frustrating, exhausting. It isn't always glamorous, but it's necessary. And strength comes from understanding that truth. You are right where you need to be. The world, it can't take what you refuse to give it and self-belief is non-negotiable it's off the table your most prized possession so hold it tight because it'll be needed when the journey feels long and the road impossible you'll know that you can always take one step
Starting point is 00:29:44 forward and that is the essence of life of growth of progress think about the steps the lessons the self-discovery that led you to this intersection of now and forever. This beginning of whatever you decide comes next. You are right where you need to be because you are armed with the decisions that brought you to today and the courage to let them carry you into tomorrow. You could be anywhere, but you're here. And as you strap up and settle in, you'll see that right here is everything. Why chase down? the difficult things. It's certainly not being productive for the sake of being productive. It's not for the flex or the trophies. It's because meaning in life is directly tied to conquering the
Starting point is 00:31:04 unconquerable. Harnessing the outside world. It's about seeing what we can become when we put ourselves in position to grow. The adventure of a lifetime that awaits anyone who chooses to accept. That's why. But it's not a one-and-done affair. That's the thing. Life has a way of filtering out the timid and the unsure to identify those that really want it, as though it sees us sign that dotted line and asks,
Starting point is 00:31:45 Is that so? Let me remove that comfort and predictability. See if then it still sounds good. Let me place the value on the other side of the pain. See if you're still enthusiastic about the pursuit. In fact, let me burn the map. Dim the lights, add some obstacles along the way, see how giddy you are about all this now.
Starting point is 00:32:14 And see the difference. between those who make change and those who dream about change. Comes down to one simple thing. How do you view the obstacles? Are they a problem? Are they an anomaly, a red flag? Because if they are, you've lost before you started. But the ones who see adversity as simply the expectation,
Starting point is 00:32:46 the water that grows the seed, the wheel that turns the car, the switch, that lights up the room, well, for them, it's a little different. They have armed themselves with adaptability. See, life is not smooth sailing with aberrations in the form of rough waters. No, it is a non-stop influx of trials and tribulations. You can't be mentally prepared to evolve if your expectation and your hope is always for calm. No, flip that on its head. The expectation is turbulence. Calm is a rare gift and as it turns out,
Starting point is 00:33:30 you were built to endure. So when the waters are rough and the many turn back you, you push forward because this is not the world saying no. It's certainly not a referendum on you. It's the cost of admission. a chance for you to prove yet again that where you place your focus to emerge victorious, if only the world could see, could understand that the challenge isn't the problem, it's the answer, if only everyone knew what you know,
Starting point is 00:34:13 that the great tragedy isn't falling down, it's avoiding discomfort in order to preserve what, mediocrity. Why do you want this? Because you know it's an option. It's there. You know that if you move forward when you're fearful, push harder when it hurts, find something in yourself when there appears to be nothing left. The game of life becomes one of unending reward, beauty, and prosperity. For those few, it's simply knowing. that you can have the world if you just give yourself permission to take it. Before you can ever get to where you're going, you have to decide to begin.
Starting point is 00:35:29 You have to acknowledge that what you're chasing means more to you than what you are leaving behind. and then begins the greatest adventure you will ever experience, knowing that you have turned someday into right now. That the road beneath you is waving you on, the wind at your back, it pushes you forward. There are no guarantees in life, but that just might be What makes it so incredible? You'll only go as far as you allow your imagination to take you. Whether it's the end of your driveway, or where the sun and the ocean intersect.
