Starting point is 00:00:00 For a few years in the 1970s, the Mr. Asia syndicate made millions. Heroin creates its own market. It acts like a form of plague. Until jealousy, betrayal and murder brought it all crashing down. Clark would have threatened him. Go and kill him. If you don't, I'm going to kill you and your wife and your son. This is Mr. Asia, A Forgotten History. All episodes now available on iHeartRadio, Apple, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. The ZM Podcast Network. Hi everybody, welcome to a semi-delayed Brianne Clint afterparty because the person who uploads these has gone to the Lord of the Rings musical by herself. Don't say who they are.
Starting point is 00:00:49 We don't say it. Yeah. People can just assume. They can work it out. Obviously they'll know it's not me. Or me. Because I've had sex before. Could be me.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Could be you. Could be me. The person who's not here could be me. But anyway, we persist. How's everybody doing? How's everybody feeling? I think I worked out. I know I did work this out.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Six weeks until Christmas. Five weeks left of the Brian Clint show. Yep. Six Fridays. I've got about three days left. You've got three days in you so You've got three days in you I've got three days left Well pick them well
Starting point is 00:01:27 Pick them well Yeah If you had to do three days It'd be three Fridays wouldn't it Three Fridays for sure Yeah Absolutely Fridays are the best
Starting point is 00:01:35 Yeah It's the best day to work Monday's the best day to take off Yeah okay Yeah Yeah true Yeah Monday definitely The best day to take off
Starting point is 00:01:44 Does anyone have any secrets to spill? You sound like you've got a secret to spill. No, I just wanted a secret. You sound like you've got a secret to spill. Yeah, what's your secret? Don't flip this on me. What's your secret? I don't know if I have any.
Starting point is 00:01:58 Nah, man. This is boring. Maybe we need that person who's away today. Maybe we need to come back. Yeah. Bree was just talking about a garden. Oh, that's not exciting. I've just gone on a garden rampage.
Starting point is 00:02:15 It's so fun. I'm just planting everything I can. And this is the time to plant, you know. Spring is the time. Even before then, sometimes they recommend planting in winter for the summer ones to get the roots in. Oh, God, we're talking planting, aren't we? I love it. Guys, guess what I've even got in my garden now?
Starting point is 00:02:34 A finger lime tree. What is that? A lime? Limes are so expensive. It's a good thing to have in your garden. I've got a huge, so we've got a lime tree, just a normal lime tree. But do you know what a finger lime tree is? No.
Starting point is 00:02:45 So finger limes, it's starting to build a lot of momentum in Australia, but they're these little fruits and when you cut them open, there's like little – how would you – like little – Segments? Oh, that's not what I was expecting at all. Like little balls inside them? Yeah, little balls. Little jubes.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Like little jubes and then you'd squeeze that and all the jubes go on your food. But it's like a burst of lime when you eat it. Yeah. Is that a tree? Yeah, it's a tree. Oh, cool. Yeah. Okay, I'll have a look out.
Starting point is 00:03:18 It's big, big, big in Australia. It has been for, I mean, I don't know how long. You were saying you're planting some marijuana as well? Yeah, planting the marijuanas. How do you buy that? And tobacco? You just get seeds. You get some hay and the seeds come over in the hay.
Starting point is 00:03:36 I was fuming as I left work. That was a joke from you. When I arrived today, when I arrived at work today, I walked in the door and Ella goes, are we going to have a bitter day today? Have you turned over a new leaf, Clint? Turned over a new leaf, that was it. And I said, have you?
Starting point is 00:03:54 Oh, Ella had such a good burn on the actual podcast today. Did I? As in you burnt Clint so good. The first time or the second time? Oh, the first one was very good because it was so quick and just so you're too easy to wind up so are you though okay yeah that's yeah yeah that's fair so i think we feed into it and then you the thing is you don't get mad i get mad yes that i think that's what it comes down to you get get wind up and you go in. And then it's gone. Yeah. But I still hold on to it.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Whereas you fester. See, I feel like I used to be like you. And as I've gotten older, I just don't care anymore. There's no point. It's like I told you when you started this job. Nothing, it doesn't matter. And nothing that we do is serious. No, you're right.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Nothing's serious. And yeah. But it also makes good radio if you get wound up. Yeah, I did make sure. I was like, was that too harsh? And she was like, no. Nah. We all have been doing this job for too long.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Were you scared you were going to hurt my feelings? Well, I cut deep. You did hurt. You wish. If I'm honest, you have hurt my feelings once since you've been working here. We don't even bring it up. When you critiqued me when you were here for two weeks and then gave me an air check and said some pretty harsh things. That didn't hurt your feelings.
Starting point is 00:05:09 That didn't hurt your feelings at all. It was just fucking weird. You're like, oh, why did she get the job? I feel like Clint and I literally, do you want to see? I feel like we know how we looked at each other when it was happening. I feel like we looked at each other. Of course you did. It's fucking weird.
Starting point is 00:05:25 I'd love to find fucking weird. Oh. I'd love to find the audio. No. Oh, I would. That's so bad. No. If anyone in this podcast group can pinpoint the podcast. Let's put a reward on it.
Starting point is 00:05:35 It's very early in Ella's tenure as our producer, so it'll be just after Anastasia left. Yeah, it'll be around the time when Ella starts. If I ever want to hear that. If someone finds it, we should put a reward on it. Ella reviewing our performance. It's called air checking in the business. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:56 As Ella would know that because she kicked it off. You find it for us and then we will air check that. We'll air check the air check. Do you guys get it though? Like I just had such a warped thought on producing. No, no, we check that. We'll air check the air check. Do you guys get it though? I just had such a warped thought of producing. I thought it was that. But obviously not.
Starting point is 00:06:13 No, it can be. This show you guys know. And I've experienced it a few times. It's just misreading the dynamic I think. And I had a – don't feel too bad. When I worked at The Edge back in the day. Oh, we've all had these moments, Ella.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Don't worry. It's not just you. We hired a new newsreader for The Breakfast Show, and the newsreader was quite integrated into The Breakfast Show. They were like a character. Oh, yes. And The Breakfast Show was silly and fun, and the person they hired was coming was coming from deep in like
Starting point is 00:06:48 south canterbury okay and had done the interview like online this is before zoom so probably on the phone the interview and they got the job and they showed up for their first day of work at the edge which is a radio station just like notM. Not in a suit. In a full suit. No. They showed up to read the news in a full suit. Oh, no. Bless their heart. Bless their heart. Who was that? That person is now a very successful podcaster,
Starting point is 00:07:15 international podcaster, actually. I want to know who it is. But we never let him live it down. Can we name who the person is? That's an endearing story. It is an endearing story. He's a great guy too. Yeah, it's not a bad story. No, that's fine. His name's
Starting point is 00:07:29 Andy and he hosts, give his podcast a plug actually, he hosts The Good, The Bad and The Rugby Australia, A and Z. Oh, bless Andy. See, that's a cute mistake though. And it was kind of heartbreaking to see. Nah, that's a cute mistake, though. And it was kind of heartbreaking to see.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Nah, that's endearing. Mine's just shit. You guys were thinking why did they hire her? Literally. No, we weren't. We were thinking, genuinely, we were thinking this bitch.
Starting point is 00:08:02 I, a little bit, was like this bitch really has no idea what's going on and I will say we're very proud of you and you've come so far and your air check is coming yeah don't worry
Starting point is 00:08:18 on your last day whenever that will be we will air check you back anyway reward if you can find it Whenever that will be, we will air check you back. I can't wait to see you be ready. Anyway, reward if you can find. Yeah, find it. Post it in the Brian Clint. What's our page called? Brian Clint's Group Therapy.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Yeah, post it in there. A reward. Don't know what it is, but we will find you something. And I will block you. Yeah. Okay, see you guys later. Air check over. Air check over.
Starting point is 00:08:44 You are dismissed. Class dismissed.
