Starting point is 00:00:00 The ZM Podcast Network. Okay, I'll pull up, hop out at the after party. Good evening everybody, welcome back to the Brie Thomasale Frozen Food Sweet Stakes for 2023, where we will find out what the frozen mystery meal defrosted from Brie's freezer for dinner last night was. To recap you, I put my money on lamb shanks. I put my money on bolognese. I said curry. Did I? You said ramen-y thing and we gave you the whole curry category.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Curry. The curry category. Guys, I can confirm we do have a result. You know what it is. I do know what it is. This is so exciting. I went home last night and it had defrosted and I could tell what it was straight away. Really?
Starting point is 00:00:45 Yes. And it resumed its original shape. It had. Like flubber. It had. It had revealed itself throughout the day, obviously melting. And let's get to the results. In the case of what was the mystery frozen dish in my freezer? It was lamb shanks.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Yes! I am the king! Not again. I knew it was lamb shanks. I don't know how I knew I knew. And it was bloody delicious. So that's the follow-up question. You obviously ate it.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Yep. Did you do a fresh potato mash to put it on? Yes, absolutely. How do you reheat a shank? Do you microwave? Good question, Claude. What's the best way to reheat a shank? That's a great question.
Starting point is 00:01:31 I would do it in the oven if I was being generous to myself, if I had time. Yeah, I didn't. Because it was nearly defrosted because it had been out all day. It was close. I whacked it in the microwave for like a bit of defrosting, like a couple of minutes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:44 And then I put it in a pot. On the stove. On the stove. In an empty pot. Yeah, well, there's- Well, there's juices. It was actually a lot of sauce with it. I don't know what a lamb shank is.
Starting point is 00:01:56 It was actually quite like saucy. Like I'd almost call it a lamb shank curry. Was it only one shank? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What did you just say? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'd say it was almost a lamb shank curry.
Starting point is 00:02:09 There was that much sauce but I have to give the win to Clint because the lamb was still on the bone so it was a full intact shank. There was two of them. Hey, I'll come second. I'll take it. You would come second. Yes! Correct. Wow. And then put it in the pot take it. You would come second. Yes! Correct.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Wow. And then put it in the pot, heat it up in the pot. Delightful. New mash and new broccolini. Good to go. Oh, yum. So good. Broccolini.
Starting point is 00:02:35 How good's a lamb shank? I don't think I've ever eaten a lamb shank. Haven't you? I don't think so. Such a Kiwi classic. Do you put mince sauce on it? UK classic. UK, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Yeah. Like bangers and mash, UK. Slow cooker lamb shanks. Do you put what on on it? UK classic. UK, yeah. Yeah. Like bangers and mash, UK. Slow cooker lamb shanks. Do you put what on it, Claude? Mint sauce? Mint sauce, not generally. Me personally, no. Because it's tomato-y. Is that like an old person thing?
Starting point is 00:02:54 It's got a sauce. It's got a gravy. It's got a sauce with it. I had gnocchi last night and it was delicious. It's homemade? Ish, yep. What's ish? You know you can get the fresh gnocchi pasta, the balls. Ish. Yep. What's ish? You know, you can get the fresh gnocchi pasta, the balls in the packet from the chilled part
Starting point is 00:03:11 of the supermarket. But then my wife made a sauce to go with it. Yeah, gotcha. So, yeah. But I got roasted by someone for saying that I had a gnocchi for dinner. Gnocchi. Gnocchi. Gnocchi.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Gnocchi. A gnocchi. That's correctnocchi. Gnocchi. Gnocchi. Gnocchi. A gnocchi. That's correct though, eh? That is correct. But you sound like a bit of a wanker if you don't have an Italian accent just stopping down in the middle of your sentence to say gnocchi.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Gnocchi. Gnocchi. Say gnocchi. It's a gnocchi. Say gnocchi. Gnocchi. Nah, I think you sound like more of a dum-dum if you say gnocchi.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Gnocchi. Yeah. I appreciate it if someone says gnocchi. Sounds like you've got a blocked nose, though. You don't have to say it with an Italian accent. Try without an Italian accent. Last night for dinner, I had a gnocchi. Gnocchi.

Why are you going into your nose? Don't do that. Last night for dinner, I had a gnocchi. I'm trying to think of my mouth. gnocchi. Last night for dinner I had a gnocchi. It's going into my nose. Why are you going into your nose?
Starting point is 00:04:06 Don't do that. Last night for dinner I had a gnocchi. I chose a key moment. Gnocchi. It's gnocchi. Gnocchi. Gnocchi.
Starting point is 00:04:12 No, it's not what Alice said. No, it's not gnocchi. It's hard not to have a long N on it. Last night for dinner I had a gnocchi. Like people who say bruschetta.
Starting point is 00:04:22 I know it's right. Instead of bruschetta. I just say bruschetta. How are you meant to. Instead of bruschetta? I just say bruschetta. How are you meant to say it? Bruschetta. Bruschetta. Really? Bruschetta.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Spaghetti. That's how you're meant to say it. And meatball. Like brus... Brus... Bruschetta. Oh, okay. Fancy, eh?
Starting point is 00:04:39 You've never heard that in my life. Haven't you? No. And you went to Italy. I did. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's buzzy.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Did you get bruschetta? You can't do it. I can't do it. No. What meal do you have a bruschetta with? What do you mean? First dinner. Bread.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Lunch. Oh, yeah. Breakfast. Dinner. In Italy, they have it whenever. I'm hungry. Snack. I'm pretty sure it was invented to just like.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you not know what we were talking about? No I did He didn't know He's googling it I can see Looks good though I'm really hungry now Okay can you defrost something else tomorrow that was fun
