Starting point is 00:00:00 Everybody in the club It's just Dream guest on my podcast I got a DM today guys It's well documented on this show that we go to Dubhub on a Friday To put our show together And I got this message from someone that said
Starting point is 00:00:17 Hi Clint Kent has came out at 4.30 today Can you settle an argument for me My husband, daughter and I Are up from Christchurch For the Warriors and Darts this weekend We're having lunch at insert pub here.
Starting point is 00:00:33 I'm pretty sure I just saw you leaving there around 2.45pm. I told my husband and daughter who reckoned it couldn't possibly be you as you'd be on air at 3. Why would you be leaving the pub at 2.45? That's 15 whole minutes early. Of course I want to be right and I usually am
Starting point is 00:00:52 and I replied with, it was me. It's right next to ZM. Yeah, well it was me and it was 230 guys. I think I left at 225 for a 2.30 meeting here at ZDM. Yeah, you did. They should have said hi. But fully equipped and ready for a hot rock and radio show. It's not just a long lunch.
Starting point is 00:01:13 It's a planning meeting. It's a business affair. I mean, I always giggle at the chillness before the show, because I just imagine in like America, they'd be running around five minutes to go. 16 producers. Guys, we're almost live. Yeah, and they'd be like,
Starting point is 00:01:29 But that's a countdown, people in your air talking to each other, and it's super chill here. It's not sustainable. No way. I like this. To do that every single day. Do you think because you look at countdowns all day, like every screen's got a clock and a countdown and a count up, do you think you have a good grasp of time? Yeah. Yeah, I think from doing this job, like I could do like a 30 second or a 60, you tell me to talk for 30 or 60 seconds, I reckon I can do it.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Can we try? Yeah. How do you want? 20 seconds or 30 seconds? You decide. I can't do a 20. I can do 30 or 60. Let's do 30.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Okay, ready? Three, two, one, go. Hi, everybody. My name's Clint Roberts. I host a radio show every day here on ZM. We're located in Auckland City. We overlook Victoria Park. If you're ever in Auckland, you can see a beautiful view of the sky tower from where we broadcast from.
Starting point is 00:02:17 And just down the road, you'll find the bustling hub that is Queen Street. That's ZM, 91.0 on your preset. What do you reckon? 28. 22.29. Fuck! I did exactly the same thing where I was like I definitely have a good grasp of time
Starting point is 00:02:33 and I said it in front of Ross and he checked it and I was so off Yeah, every man thinks he goes for longer than he does Can I try? Can we all try? Yeah, okay, ready? Yeah, you timekeeping Claudia? Yeah, I got it, ready, set, go. Cure to everyone, I'm Ella, I'm actually going
Starting point is 00:02:48 to audition for Big Brother but the only thing is no New Zealand residents I'm the Australian citizens So fingers crossed, it's honestly a dream of mine I'm giving away two kittens tomorrow I'm fostering them at the moment and I'm really gonna miss them
Starting point is 00:03:03 like it's really hard I'm on the verge of keeping one of them but I think in all honesty it's just not the right timing you know we want to travel we might have kids I'm gonna stop in now too long I reckon I think I've spot on
Starting point is 00:03:19 Jesus Claudia 30.8 seconds Wow that was really good That's good. I thought she's blown her. Me too.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Yeah. When you said I'm going to stop in, I thought you're going to count like five seconds out. Wow. Wow. Really good. I'm not even going to attempt it because I know I can't do it. I feel like there's no point. I don't even have 30 seconds worth of things to say.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Neither did I turn now. Neither did either of us. You could put that on your big brother application. I'm very good. Very aware of what 30 seconds sounds like. Yeah. What do you think producers are looking for for a big brother applicant? You're a producer.
Starting point is 00:03:55 What are you looking for? That's what I was thinking. I think confidence the willingness to do things Good on camera Vulnerability A little bit hot Yeah a little bit hot
Starting point is 00:04:05 Like good TV attractiveness Little bit hot Willingness to do things We gave you so much feedback Just then and all you heard was little bit hot And she's like Little bit hot I'm quite funny
Starting point is 00:04:20 Yeah no I'll do my damn best But I think also what makes A prize winner stand out like if I'm going through winners in a comment thread is if they write something that not everyone else has that captures your eyes and it's not the same I could imagine a lot of applicants on Big Brother would be like, it's my dream
Starting point is 00:04:39 and as a producer I'd scroll past. You've got to stand out. They want a mix on a show like that. They want a mix of people. Yeah, so I started with in terms, oh no, I didn't start with that. I started with me in the house you're going to get a lot of snorts, cat chat,
Starting point is 00:04:51 singing, fangirling and very hilarious jokes that I've come up with myself. Love it. Yeah? Yeah. All you can do is just put a genuine picture of yourself forward because that's how you'll have to be in the house anyway and then leave it up to them.
Starting point is 00:05:06 If you are what they want, then you will get it. Surely. If you're not, then that's not your problem. Surely they want a hot little awkward queen. And then say also you can get coverage on the radio. And I'm diva. Diva. You're not a diva.
Starting point is 00:05:18 No? Nah. Okay. Well, no. The care is mad. You're not a diva. I'm actually stopping my people pleasing. no so that's over when did you
Starting point is 00:05:27 oh sorry are we distracting you from your phone whoa I saw this video of Hulk Hogan isn't he RIP'd he's RIP'd but in this video he's 34 this is the thing that's I've been obsessed with recently is um oh sorry what were we talking about I don't want to hear about the Hogan
Starting point is 00:05:45 this thing where people from the 80s and 90s how old they look they could hey people in their 30s and 40s in the 80s look like people who are in their 50s and 60s in the 2000s. It's their clothing and their hair. It's all thick and fluffy.
Starting point is 00:06:02 It's so funny. I kind of wish that's what it was still to this day because everyone looked old so no one looked young. You want to wear a pencil skirt? Yeah, right, so you could stop trying. Yeah. Because everyone looked old, so if you looked your age, you're doing well.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Was Botox a thing back then? I caught up with some friends. It's interesting when you hang out with people who are exactly your age, and I had a trip away with some mates, my high school friends and we are we're all 12 months
Starting point is 00:06:28 within 12 months of each other right and it's really interesting the spectrum of aging even within our group who's really aged I won't name them oh but someone
Starting point is 00:06:40 my friend group my high school groups like that some have aged some of age drastically it's just different lifestyles as well like the parenting comes into it yeah genetics balling I can't help
Starting point is 00:06:50 if they're balding yeah I think your job plays into it too yeah if you're like attitude that's why I'm so young and cool because of my attitude how's your abs can we see a progress pick life progress pick come on bring it up can we see the befores I've got the befores when do you think you'll get the abs is that the goal yeah yeah yeah eggs by 40 that's the goal okay um do we all only see them if I get them so are you prioritizing arms or legs uh
Starting point is 00:07:24 Abbs. Yeah, abs. I'm just abs. These toothpick legs and legs and arms. This big keg of a core. It's quite funny. You look like grew. I had to go to the pub.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Again. Yeah, I'm going to meet some friends. I'm doing that thing where we planned this. Literally like six weeks ago. Oh, no. And then it rolled around today and they're like, hey, see you at the pub. Oh, fuck. All of you kind of like, we'll see you there unless you don't want you?
Starting point is 00:07:50 Nah, they're there and they're lit. I've already, I've already peppered. them with hey guys prepared to be disappointed with how long i stay for maybe you'll work yourself into it like you'll get there and you'll just feel no i don't want to oh i don't want to get drunk i don't want to be hung over i don't want to have to pay for an uber true well just go see how do do how to everyone do the rounds and then do an irish goodbye i got abs to maintain guys um see you guys next week when brie's back You go kiss your mums or your dads or your cats.
