Starting point is 00:00:00 The ZM Podcast Network. Hi everyone, welcome to the after party. Where a robot has done a cover of our hit single, The Hot Mess Express, Send It, and it slaps. So good So good I mean for a robot For a robot Can't wait to see Robot Headline Rhythm and Vibes this year
Starting point is 00:00:41 Right C3PO Headlines R&B Are we watching that guy Rhythm and Vines this year. Right. C3PO headlines R&V. Are we watching that guy, Tim Nacky, the Kiwi guy who's betting 10 cents for every Instagram follower he has every day on the blackjack table? I go back and forth. Like, I'm not like religiously watching it every day,
Starting point is 00:01:02 but I'll look. I was going back and forth, and at first I was like, this is silly. I've become so obsessed with it. Is that what you were listening to today? Yeah. He's a Kiwi guy who lives in the States and he plays virtual blackjack. And every day he bets 10 cents for every Instagram follower he has.
Starting point is 00:01:18 He started to blow up and he's getting like 40,000 new followers a day. So the amount of money he bets is going up by like four thousand dollars a day yeah it's wild yeah wild um a part of a part of me is like this is really not good influencing you know yeah totally but he's it's it's literally like showcasing horrible behavior yeah yeah but he's not trying to be an influencer. No, I'm not saying he's trying to be an influencer, but he's influencing people is what I'm saying. Totally, totally.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Imagine if you're a recovering gambler and he comes up on your feed. Yeah, unfollow. Terrible. Yeah. Totally. That's the last person you need to see on social media. And even he says that it's a terrible way to make money and that he is on some crazy winning streak.
Starting point is 00:02:11 But you're right. If you're susceptible to that, it's not going to stop you. Nah, not ideal, eh? But far out. He's over half a million dollars in profit. He's at almost $600,000 in profit. He could lose it very quickly. Yeah. He could lose it very quickly. Yeah, he could lose it very quickly.
Starting point is 00:02:27 And that account would become very grim, wouldn't it? Yeah. I follow a guy, I've unfollowed him now, this young guy in Australia who tried to do the same thing where he went to his local bar that had like a TAB in it and he was betting 10 cents for every follower he has on the favourite horse in the last race of the day. That was his niche that he was betting 10 cents for every follower he has on the favorite horse in the last race of the day that was his niche that he was going for and he did it for a week and then he
Starting point is 00:02:51 did an update on the account he's like hey guys I have to change it to five cents a day because um I'm ten thousand dollars in debt and I can't keep doing this I'm like bro stop stop just stop just delete the account yeah that makes me feel sick, that makes me feel sick. Yeah. That makes me feel real sick. Oh, dear. So I unfollowed him because I'm not following some guy who pussies out and only bits five cents. Clint. Undo that. Restart.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Gambling's a scary place, eh? Like, it really is. I watched this movie. I think it recently got added back onto Netflix. That has Matthew McConaughey in it. It's a true story based on a true story. It's about this guy who was a very good football player and he was just about to go pro and make it into the NFL
Starting point is 00:03:32 and then severely injured his knee and then was trying to get back into some sort of league and like just trying to do anything. And he was like working different jobs. And then he ended up working in this job where he was – essentially the job is he would make his picks for the football weekend. Oh, yeah. So he would make his picks and then people could call him and ask –
Starting point is 00:03:58 For his tips. Ask for his picks for the weekend. And then they obviously could take them or not and then he would get a percentage of their winnings. Buzzy. Anyway, then this guy found him and brought him to New York and he became like he- Was he good at it?
Starting point is 00:04:14 Yes. Like, well, because he played college football and- He knew. Yeah, he knew a lot about football. And then there's this one part of the movie where he picked 100% round of football. Yeah. 100%.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Yeah. Do you know how rare that would be? Crazy. Anyway, where's the bad bit? Anyway, the bad bit is- I was like, fuck, sounds good. Anyway, he started to look- because he was picking 80% weekends for like a year
Starting point is 00:04:42 and then all of a sudden- Luck changed. It all went bad. And all these people that were betting little bits to start off with. Started betting big amounts of money. Because he was so like consistent. And then he had some like heap of horrible weekends. And people lost like millions.
Starting point is 00:05:00 And had to go bankrupt and all this kind of stuff. Yeah. It's horrible. Actually learning about. There's a movie about money, The Recession, big. The big short. Learning about that recently. Yeah, the big short's a great film.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Wow. Doesn't it explain it really well? Yes. Because none of us who lived through the global financial crisis, the other one, not this one. The 2008 one. The 2008 one. We didn't really understand, you and I at that age, what was going on.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Right, yeah. But then when that movie came out, I was like, ah, you were stacking bad loans on top of other bad loans and bundling them up. Which is insane. To look like they were a good loan, but actually they were a super, super, super bad loan. How?
Starting point is 00:05:40 I lived through a bit of that when I lived in America. Oh. And you could feel how grim it was. People were working jobs that were paying $7.50 an hour. Like grown adults. Just to get by. Just to pay for food. Like it was grim.
Starting point is 00:05:57 That's a massive screw up. Oh, yuck. So yeah, that was actually really interesting, that movie. Yeah, that's a great film. Yeah. And I'm not one to find that stuff interesting. See? Oh, you're growing up.
Starting point is 00:06:08 I think I am, guys. I could give you some more movies that you should watch that you'll learn stuff. Yeah, okay. Okay. What? No, well, I'll send you. The J-Lo movie, Hustlers.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Oh, cool. Don't ask Clint. He's never seen anything. What is going on with J-Lo? Have you guys seen? What is she? Oh, that movie she released. She, like, spent $20 million or about that of her own money
Starting point is 00:06:33 to create this movie slash documentary thing. It's so shit. Oh, about herself, eh? Yeah. It's so shit. And she's like, all her hair muffled. I'm in the Bronx. And people are like, the world is turning on J-Lo.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Yeah, a little bit. They don't vibe her Ben Affleck relationship. It's more of who she might be as a person and might not be the most positive. She's not Jenny from the block anymore. Oh, you reckon? Oh, times have changed. Well, that's what I've seen online. I don't know her, so I can't comment.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Wow. Yeah. She's no Tim.Nacky on Instagram Who's betting 10 cents a day for every Instagram follower he has No Gamble responsibly everybody Or don't gamble at all if you're susceptible to that kind of thing Yeah just don't do it
Starting point is 00:07:16 By the way Bree's worn a backwards hat all day If you listened to yesterday's podcast And it looks awesome I feel like you've leaned into it throughout the day Thank you guys I've got a few bad comments online uh but then i had the producer from the hits make sure you focus on those bad comments okay yeah hold on do you want to do you guys ignore all the good ones make sure you focus on the bad comments you guys want to know the results yeah
Starting point is 00:07:37 because we put up a poll what was the question the question was hold on. Where is it? Here we go. The question was, do I pull off the backwards cap? Yes, absolutely not. And oh, no. Don't know what happened then. I think my phone's about to die. Ella, can you bring it up? Sorry, I was about to burp. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:08:03 I'm going to say 99% said yes and 1% of sad losers. She's got it? Okay. What's the percentages? 6% stop embarrassing yourself. 15% absolutely not. 79% says yes. Where the backwards hat.
Starting point is 00:08:25 But because I reposted the story to my own personal Instagram and the results on there are pretty ruthless. Whatever you do, like I said, this is how social media works. Make sure you focus on the 6% that said you're embarrassing yourself. Yeah, well, that's what I always do. Make sure that's the only bit that you listen to. That's what I always do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:43 But the lovely producer from the Hit Sarah came out of her producer's booth and said, oh, my God what I always do. Make sure that's the only bit that you listen to. That's what I always do. Yeah. But the lovely producer from the hit Sarah came out of her producer's booth and said, oh, my God, I love it. Yeah. What's the feedback been like? I give it a big thumbs up. Aw. See, that was real sweet. That's great.
Starting point is 00:08:55 Turn it around to drive. Yeah. Oh, really? It gives you neck problems. Does it? I got neck problems because I was a big backwards hat guy for a long, long time. I was exclusively backwards hat guy. Yeah, that makes sense. And then I found I was getting neck problems because it pushes a big backwards hat guy for a long, long time. I was exclusively backwards hat guy. Really? Yeah, that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:09:05 And then I found I was getting neck problems because it pushes your head forward while you're driving. Yeah, I found that when I was sitting in this seat before. I was like, my head can't sit back. Where are the sideways then? That is... Oh, see, now no one's pulling that off. You're doing the Jojo Seaworth. Swag.
Starting point is 00:09:18 All right. Swag. Let's get out of here, everybody. Swag a jag. Oh, I'm ready to send it. Right-o, cheers, guys. Are we dubstep. Oh, I'm ready to send it. On a Tuesday. Are we dubstep fans now? Is it 2012?
Starting point is 00:09:29 Yep. Get the other podcast. Good podcast today. Yeah, the girls. What? The girls in the office were saying they were giggling today. It's a turn up for the books. Yep.
Starting point is 00:09:43 See you tomorrow, guys. Bye. Bye. Bye.
