Starting point is 00:00:00 You tapped it, so we're playing it. It's ZM's Brian Clint, the podcast. I'm having a party. A party for two. Hi everybody, Ella's back! Hooray! Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. Is it safe to go listen to the old podcast? No. Were you talking smack?
Starting point is 00:00:24 No, don't go listen to that. No, I didn't say anything. We just air checked you. Well, arrogant to think we talked about you. Yeah, you probably did. Did you? No. You're not.
Starting point is 00:00:33 You came up. Sometimes when you're sick, Clint, we'll talk smack. Every time, I think. Every time. Yeah, every time. Yeah, probably every time, actually, yeah. Sometimes when you're healthy, too. Did you guys see the news about the AirPods Pro 2?
Starting point is 00:00:48 No. What? Have you got AirPods or AirPods Pro? Just the first one. Yeah. Didn't know you were rich. No, the Pros are rich. Pros are not comfy.
Starting point is 00:00:59 What is the difference? They don't look good. I don't know, but the Pros are definitely more obviously. Yeah. They're better. They sound better in your ears. They're still, but the pros are definitely more, obviously. Yeah. They're better. They sound better in your ears. Are they still the little, like, pentadols on your ears? They're the stumpy ones, though, with a little bit of black on them
Starting point is 00:01:11 so people know that you're better than everyone else. Ooh la la. They are so good now that they have been approved for another function and can be used as hearing aids. Amazing. Oh, yeah, I saw them talking about this when they released them. Isn't that amazing? Yeah. Have you guys ever used a hearing aid? No. What? You can do that? hearing aids. Amazing. Oh, yeah, I saw them talking about this when they released them. Isn't that amazing? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Have you guys ever used a hearing aid? No. What? You can do that? A friend of mine. You can just borrow them. What? Well, yeah, a friend of mine.
Starting point is 00:01:31 No, not from like a library. Yeah. A friend of mine who uses a hearing aid. I had a go of his once. Buzzy thing. Did it make you think that you've got hearing damage? No. thing. Did it make you think that you've got hearing damage? Um no but it's like you have a supersonic power or something. Yeah. Because you can
Starting point is 00:01:52 like hear noises that you normally wouldn't be able to hear. My friend Jordan got hearing aids. He's like 35. He's a dad and he went for a hearing test. Found out he had hearing loss. Got hearing aids. He said it's been genuinely life changing for him but not in the way that you'd think. He can obviously hear better, but he said that his wife said that he's less grumpy now.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Because you're not missing things that are being said or information that you should be getting, the knock-on effect of it is huge. And he said his whole life is better because he hears the things that he needs to hear. When someone talks to him, he hears it. Or when he says something and someone replies, he hears it straight away. I imagine it would be quite mentally draining too when you're struggling to hear. You'd actually be actively putting effort into hearing. It's really isolating.
Starting point is 00:02:38 And they say that hearing loss, if you don't get the hearing aids or get it treated, is one of the things that leads to dementia because you become isolated and you withdraw from conversation in society and you can become depressed and all that sort of stuff. Crazy. My pa had two hearing aids. Like the entire time I knew my pa growing up, he always had hearing aids. In the 90s, eh?
Starting point is 00:03:01 Imagine how shit those hearing aids would have been. Yeah, like his were the big ones that went over the back of the ear Which a lot of hearing aids don't look like that anymore Nah, they're way smaller now, eh? Yeah, he had hearing aids from when he was 17 No, 18 Wow God, imagine how shit they would have been
Starting point is 00:03:19 Yeah Well, actually, that's a great point I don't know when he got them, but he needed them He would have had that horn that you stick in your ear Yeah Because he went to the war I do worry about our ears He went to the war when he was 16
Starting point is 00:03:34 Because he lied on his passport About how old he was Burst certificate sorry And then got really bad hearing loss from the bombs Whoa Buzzy Before we go I got really bad hearing loss from the bombs. Whoa. Buzzy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Before we go, another DM that I received that you guys will enjoy. Guys, please don't cancel the podcast. A few months ago, listening to you kept me company while I was working in New Zealand and missing my family. And now me and my wife listen to the podcast every day on the other side of the world. My wife adores Friday Oaky when Brie and Clint sometimes make fools of themselves. Sometimes. All the time.
Starting point is 00:04:12 We listen to your adventures in the evening when our four daughters go to sleep. And we enjoy evenings having fun with you four clowns. This is how my wife calls you. Oh, clowns is what my wife calls you with great respect. Hello. I'll take it. From us. From Slovenia.
Starting point is 00:04:31 No way. Slovenia. That's awesome. That is so cool. Like, isn't that buzzy that there's people from all around the world that could be listening to this right now? It's pretty special. I don't think I'm saying your name right, but thank you, Dijan.
Starting point is 00:04:49 That's such a cool message to get. Where did Dijan message you? Slid in my DMs. No one has slid into my DMs and has said, don't cancel the podcast. Wow. I did get this really horrible message saying, finally, finally, there is the thought that you guys
Starting point is 00:05:11 could potentially cancel this podcast. Oh, yeah, don't worry. I've got plenty of those. Okay, good. Right, right. So it's not just me. Just kidding. We appreciate you guys.
