For a few years in the 1970s, the Mr. Asia syndicate made millions.
Heroin creates its own market. It acts like a form of plague.
Until jealousy, betrayal and murder brought it all crashing down.
Clark would have threatened him. Go and kill him. If you don't, I'm going to kill you and your wife and your son.

I'm having a party.
A party for two.
Party for five today.
Party for five.
There's Bree. There's Claudia. Present. There's Ella. Hi. and Clint. There's Brie. There's Claudia.
Present.
Present.
There's Ella.
Hi.
There's me, Clint.
And then there's our special guest, Maitrey.
Hi, Maitrey.
Hey, everybody.
You have won the chance to come and experience the Brie and Clint show for the day,
and you're experiencing it right now.
How's the experience going?
It's thrilling.
It's mind-blowing, and it's super enjoyable.
Yeah?
Is it what you pictured it would be, Maitrey? It's more, it's mind-blowing and it's super enjoyable. Yeah? Is it what you pictured it would be, Maytree?
It's more work to it.
Thank you for saying that, Maytree.
Thank you for saying that.
In the previous you said that it's not a real job.
It's damn a real job.
It's to keep everyone entertained and be on top of everything.
I'm going to play this recording to my wife tonight.
I'm going to play it to my boss.
I'm going to play it to my boss as well.
These guys are doing hard work, guys.
Thank you.
Make them a move when they come home.
I won't play that bit to my wife because she already does.
She'll go, well, I don't want to now.
I don't want to.
Yeah, it's busy.
We've taken you around to see the other radio stations.
You got to meet Matty McLean from the news.
Yes, yes.
I got a selfie with him as well. He's nice, eh? He is nicedi McLean from the news. Yes. Yes, I got a selfie
with him as well.
He's nice, eh?
He is nice.
He's very cool and friendly.
Yeah.
Just like you all.
Aw, I take it.
A lot of people
when they come here
don't realise that
there's a whole bunch
of radio stations
in the same building, right?
No, it is.
Not a known fact,
I would say.
Not for me, at least.
Yeah, you can come here
and you can go to...
There's heaps.
There's what?
Coast, Gold, Hits.
Flavour.
Flavour.
Horaki.
ZM.
News Talk.
News Talk ZB.
We don't get to associate with News Talk ZB though
because they're a very important, very serious news radio station.
They don't let us up there.
They have their own floor of the building.
They've locked us out of that floor.
Yeah.
Mike...
Mike Hosking. Mike, I just forgot his name.
Mike Hosking.
Do not let him know that you forgot his name.
That was a power move right there.
Did you hear that?
Power move.
Mike, what's his name?
Who's the bloody news guy that breaked in in the morning?
Mike Hosking, Newstalk ZB.
That's good.
Thank you, Ella.
Thank you.
If anyone from Newstalk ZB is listening, we're obviously joking.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're definitely just joking. I was just New Zealand is listening, we're obviously joking. Yeah.
Oh, yeah, we're definitely
just joking.
I was just trolling Michael.
What's his name?
Hoski.
What's the most surprising thing
you've learned about radio stations
while you have been here?
Surprising or interesting things,
something that you didn't expect?
I didn't expect that
quite a lot of things
are on the go.
Like, I felt that some of the things would be pre-recorded.
It's all live, baby.
It's all live out there.
Yeah, you guys are thinking out live.
It's hard to keep up on top of it and listen to it.
It's fast-paced, isn't it?
Yeah.
Not all shows.
I think we keep our show quite fast-paced.
It makes time go faster, but also it's more exciting for us.
There's definitely shows which are a bit more setback, laid back.
Personally, I think live radio is always better than a pre-recorded show.
Yeah, definitely.
You know?
You have to think on top of your head.
Yeah.
It's instant and things.
I think the energy in a live radio show is different to pre-recording.
Like obviously there's stuff that has.
Like live theatres.
Yeah, exactly.
Like an improv show, though,
because like a theatre you've got a script to fall back on.
You don't necessarily know what's coming in a radio show.
And it is good to be challenged live,
but if you're having a bit of a brain go slow day,
like I have been having this week.
Me too.
Me too.
You guys are honest.
My wife put me on the mushrooms today.
Oh, the mushroom powder.
Yeah.
I think I'm on ashwagandha and lion's mane.
Lion's mane.
Lion's mane.
I'm not sure.
Ashwagandha, I would say, increases your memory power.
It does?
Yeah.
Don't Google what a lion's mane mushroom looks like.
Really?
Makes me feel ill.
I'm going to Google it.
See?
Oh, okay.
I warned you.
That's human brain, right?
Yeah.
Lion's mane.
I need to see it.
Yeah.
Told you. Oh, well. I've eaten worse.. Yeah, told you.
Oh, well.
I've eaten worse.
Have you?
Don't.
Yeah, but I look like that.
We have a guest.
What?
What have you eaten?
That's weird.
Who's going to be listening to this?
Who do you need to say hello to from your family?
My family, my husband.
Yes.
Who could be listening to this.
Shout out to Maitrey's husband.
Yeah, Bridget, hi.
Hi.
Hello.
His effort to do all the auction. Yes, he won.
So Maitrey won this.
We put out fundraisers for our school gala.
We have kids at the same school.
And your husband bid on this and won it.
Do you know, I was real nervous because the principal said,
do you want to put up an experience for the auction?
Because it's all to raise money for the school.
And I was like, what if no one buys it?
What if no one wants to do it?
He tried to sell dinner with me, but I said,
I don't know if that would entice anyone.
Well, no, because I had to pay for the food.
Yeah, and then you didn't want to do that.
So, yeah, thank you to you and your husband for purchasing this
because it's awesome.
And, I mean, it's a donation to the school as well.
Did anyone else bid on it?
Yes, there was constant back and forth.
Was there?
It was quite a furious auction in the end.
In the last 30 minutes, it was amazing.
It was like $50, $20 on top of it.
Did he get that thing that I get in auctions where you just don't want to lose?
You're like, well, I can't lose it now.
So you just keep going and you have to win.
Yeah, he had two auctions on mind.
Yeah.
One was this and one was that. What was the other thing?
Yeah, the thing was being a principal.
Oh, principal of the day.
Principal of the day. Clint said that's what
everyone else, that was one of the
other sought after prizes.
It was one of the sought after
but I think the third most popular
one was the painting as well.
The painting was beautiful. What was the painting?
Oh, the landscape one, eh?
Landscape, it had a bird.
And it was nice, bright coloured.
What one would you have preferred?
Principal for a day or radio DJ for a day?
I think that this is more fun.
Yeah, who wants to be?
No offence to our principals and no offence to Andrea from my daughter's school,
but who wants to be a principal for the day?
That's just work.
That sounds like a lot of work to me.
Sounds like a lot of little kids running around that you have to discipline.
Which, I mean, that wouldn't be that bad.
Really?
One, two, three odds on me, please.
Yeah, yeah.
You get to do this thing.
No.
Did you never go to school?
I was just trolling you.
Not a single person got that correct.
Okay, do you want to choose a song for us to go out on?
You said you want to do a request.
Do you want to choose a song for us to go out on,
Matri, at the end of the podcast?
Yes, I would.
Yeah, what song are you picking?
Hopefully we've got it in the system.
Mantra.
Mantra.
By who? Is that the name of the song. Mantra. By who?
Is that the name of the song or the name of the band?
It's the name of the song, I believe.
Okay.
Mantra from Maitri.
By who?
Jenny.
No, we haven't got it.
By Journey.
No, Jenny.
Jenny.
Another one maybe I could try.
It's Dojo Cat, Juicy.
Oh, good choice.
Absolute banger.
Yeah.
I would like to put a message along with it.
Yes, please do.
Yes, yes, yes.
It's for my team at work.
Yes.
I work for Harmony, so I just want to say thank you guys.
You have always been very supportive and kind to me.
And, yeah, I will always love and miss you all because, yes,
in a month or two I'm flying to Aussie.
So we are relocating.
Are you really?
Yes, I'm going to miss them.
Well, this one's for them.
That's so lovely, Maytree.
Thank you for coming in.
Thank you for being part of the Brianne Clint Show today.
Thanks, Maytree.
Thank you.
Do you want to say, here's Doja Cat and Juicy?
Here's Doja Cat and Juicy.
Yeah!
Yeah!
