For a few years in the 1970s, the Mr. Asia syndicate made millions.
Heroin creates its own market. It acts like a form of plague.
Until jealousy, betrayal and murder brought it all crashing down.
Clark would have threatened him. Go and kill him. If you don't, I'm going to kill you and your wife and your son.

I'm having a party. A party for two.
Party for three. Welcome to the after party, Mama Di.
No worries. I always thought three was too much, but I think it's great.
I've always thought the same.
Have you ever had a threesome?
Oh, Brianna.
Fair dinkum.
Yeah, I actually don't want to know the answer.
Why would I ask that?
No.
Why don't you ask her?
Yeah, but she might tell me.
Oh, is that what you're worried about?
Yeah, she knows I would tell her the truth. I don't lie to my mum. Yeah, that she might tell me. Oh, is that what you're worried about? Yeah, she knows I would tell her the truth.
I don't lie to my mum.
Yeah, that's the problem.
Have you?
I'm not answering in front of my mum.
Have you, Clint?
No.
I don't think there's enough of me to go around.
It's not without trying for Clint.
I'm finding it hard enough to please one woman.
I like that answer.
Good answer.
Or maybe not.
Seems like a lot of work.
All right, because I guess I'm the only one who's being honest today then.
But that's fine.
Di's looking resplendent in her green suit today.
Thank you for joining us.
You were part of our Daffodil Day broadcast today
and you've been living at Bree's house for the last week.
How is she as a host?
Look, Bree and Sapphire are absolutely amazing.
The food is incredible.
Mum loves the food.
She doesn't have to cook it.
And we go to all these amazing places to eat.
You went to our favourite last night, didn't you?
Mekong Baby.
Oh, yeah.
It's mine and Bree's favourite restaurant.
Yeah, and I mean there was a couple of new things on the menu
and I thought we'd ordered too much food but no.
No, we hadn't.
We got the job done.
I felt so sick last night.
Is that your favourite place too?
Yeah, I love going there.
Yeah.
Clint and I agree that it's one of the best restaurants in New Zealand.
Okay.
I think in general I think the food is very, very good.
Yeah. It's just everything. It's the atmosphere.
It's the owners are so friendly
and lovely. It's how quick
the food comes out. It's everything.
No, but it's the produce.
Oh yeah, it's fresh.
Yeah, generally excellent.
When do you go back to Australia?
Well, that's under debate at the moment.
Probably Monday.
I'm trying to get her to stay till Thursday so she can come
to the CTI premiere.
Oh, that'd be fun.
That sounds like a disease or something.
Yeah.
Celebrity Treasure Island, sorry.
I know, there's an ECU.
Mum just binge watched the last season in, what, three days?
Oh, yeah.
It was amazing.
I mean, I reckon Steve Price can do anything.
Mum, all she, like, she just was obsessed with Steve Price.
But James, I think he was a dark horse all the way through it.
I think he played the best strategy game and just the best game in general.
Because he was a super fan of the show.
It's crazy how much it is about strategy.
Like, I've always thought that big, strong people would
just have the advantage, but actually
it's the crafty buggers.
Because you're a massive target as soon as you walk in
if you're a big athletic person.
People are like, well, I don't want to go up against them.
Vote them off. I think he was generally
really good with people.
Working people out. James.
I think he would listen
a lot. But do you reckon the tide's tuned now?
So now instead of eliminating the athletes, they'll be like,
we've got to get rid of those gays.
Yeah.
They've got to get rid of the gays early.
We've got to get the gays out.
He's the third white gay male to win the show.
Really?
Yeah, there's a trend.
Wait, so is there any?
Oh, I mean Spanky Jackson's going to take out this season.
Well, odds on.
Yeah.
Odds on.
Yeah.
But his charity was amazing though.
Yeah, James did have an amazing charity.
Being that smaller, you know, kind of charity, I think it was great.
Yeah, gender minorities.
Yeah.
Has Bree organised a Father's Day present for Steve for you to take back to Australia yet?
I don't – no, I don't think so.
Brianna, did you remember it was Sunday?
Yeah, Father's Day.
Okay.
But there's Father's Day in Australia as well, isn't there?
Yeah, I think, yeah.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah, it is.
But just remember, I don't have to worry about it, he's not my father.
I told you.
I told you.
I told Clint what I was getting him.
What are you getting me? I'm sending mum back. I told you. I told Clint what I was getting him. What are you getting me, Clint?
I'm sending mum back.
Oh, yeah.
I love that line that some people run where they go,
she's not my father, or like partners, and they go,
she's not my mother.
But, like, I wonder what age you're allowed to start saying that
because pretty stink if the kids are like three and five
and Mother's Day rolls around and you haven't done anything on their behalf.
You wouldn't do that then.
No.
No.
But my question is, when do you hand it over to the kids?
When do you go, all right, she's your mother?
When they're over 21.
Over 21?
21?
Nah, it's got to be before that, 16.
No, I don't think so.
I think it's nice to celebrate because you remember your own dad then too.
Yeah.
That's what I do anyway because I was only saying to Brianna
that Tones and I concert, there's a song that she sings
and it was just exactly the wording was my dad.
Yeah.
Yeah, Sorrento it's called and it was amazing.
It's such a nice song.
Yeah, the sentiment in it's called and it was amazing. Such a nice song. Yeah, the sentiment in it.
It's a fantastic song.
Yeah, it was just – and it just made me think of dad who was just,
you know, that working class.
How long has it been since you lost your dad, mum?
Well, I lost him 26 years.
Yeah, a long time.
26 years.
Yeah, I was – oh, I've just given – no. She's given her angel eyes.. 26. 26 years. I was f***ed. Oh, I've just given her. No.
She's given her age away.
It's taken six years.
Can I say a swear word?
Jesus.
Claudia, beep that for mum and I, will you?
No.
I had money on 36, so I'm out of pocket.
Really?
Yeah.
But actually, Stephen.
Who had that age in the sweepstakes?
Go on.
Stephen lost his dad before that.
Yeah.
He was only, you imagine, he was 36, I think.
Steve was.
Was dad 36?
He was 36.
Yeah, dad.
Yeah, dad.
He was 36 when he lost his father.
I remember something I do remember is that was the first time I ever saw my dad cry
was at my Nornal's funeral.
And I just remember thinking, oh, okay.
What's this?
They do that, yeah.
Yeah, like, whoa, okay, dad cries.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And he was really, he went into depression for what,
a couple of years after that?
Yeah, he did actually, to be honest.
He was very angry for a long time and he just worked and worked and worked
because he just threw everything into it.
Typical farmers.
Wouldn't actually address the situation where with women and you have sisters,
you tend to thrash it to death and you cry, you laugh, you do all that.
Yeah.
Whereas men tend to hold it in like someone else I know sitting over here.
No, he's actually getting better and better.
Yeah. It's a better and better. Yeah.
It's a really tough situation, but I think it's good to talk about it.
I have no doubt that it helps, like when you talk about it.
Of course it does.
Like I've tried to say to Clint.
Remember a few weeks ago, that was such an interesting chat we had
on this show, like how often we cry?
Oh, yeah.
And I said I cry, what, every three weeks?
I think you said more than that.
Every fortnight?
Yeah.
I mean, it depends.
Wintertime every fortnight, summer maybe every three weeks.
Yeah, but you know what?
With men, you say how often do you cry behind closed doors?
Because that's what they do.
No, I don't reckon they do.
I reckon they do.
I reckon they try and take it on. If I did, I would still count it as one of my biannual cries.
So how often would you cry then?
Biannually?
Twice a year.
Really?
I reckon, yeah.
I had one today.
Oh, yeah, well.
Didn't go full blubber though.
Just a little bit of leakage.
Yeah, but it was justified.
No, see, you need a real good cry.
No, no, I don't mind one.
Yeah, it's good.
Like when you have one, you're like, oh, yeah, that's good.
But you don't want to go too far and then you go past the threshold
where it makes your eyes real sore.
You don't want to go that far.
It's all downhill once you become a mother.
You cry at everything.
You're not a big cryer.
My mum's not a big cryer. You're not a big crier. My mum's not a big crier.
You're not a big crier, though.
I have my moment.
How often do you cry?
Probably at least once a week.
Mum and I cried once a week.
Do you cry once a week?
Well, it depends if a song comes on or a movie comes on.
That's fairly frequent.
Mum and I cried at the Tones and I concert the other night.
Well, when Sorrento comes on, all I can see is my dad, Reggie.
Anything to do with mum's family, like especially her mum and dad,
makes her real emotional.
Well, yeah, wouldn't the majority of people be like that though?
Yeah, I think so, yeah.
Totally.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Or my family.
How did we get on this topic?
Father's Day.
Father's Day.
Father's Day.
So what are you doing for Father's Day So what are you
doing for Father's Day?
He's already sent his present off for his dad
What am I doing for my dad?
What is Clint doing?
You don't know yet?
I'll be getting up to watch the All Blacks and the girls like to watch
the rugby with me. They think they like to watch it
They have the attention span of
three and five year olds
So they will watch for about seven minutes
So I'm going to get up early.
I'll watch the first half without them and then pause it.
And then we do this thing if the rugby's on in the morning where we have what's called
a rugby breakfast, which is just like a fry up, which they love just because you put some
kind of occasion around it.
And so we're having a rugby breakfast.
So I'm cooking my own Father's Day breakfast.
Oh, that's a bit stink buzz eh
I'm going to watch the rugby yeah
What is the meal you ask for like on your day
Like it's your day Father's Day
Like what's your favourite
Like what are you asking
Mekong baby
Mekong baby
Fish and chips
Fish and chips
That's your go to
Yeah that's good
Oh makes it easy
Look I like anything that someone else has cooked.
Yeah, Mum's easy.
She's like, if I don't cook it, I'm happy.
Yeah, or wash up.
I'm the same.
I'm the same.
If I don't have to like – I mean, I do love cooking for people,
but God, it tastes good when you don't have to cook.
So do you cook much, thankfully?
No, no.
Really?
I had to cook the other day because we were under some time pressure
and I said to my wife, I was like, oh, if you want,
I know you've got a lot on, I'll just whip up a spag bol for the girls.
Yeah, nice.
And she replied back with, lol, no thank you.
I feel like there's been a disaster spag bol before.
She goes, I've got it under control.
And then she came home and she goes, whip up a spag bol.
Do you even know how to make a spag bol?
And I said, I'll figure it out.
It comes in a jar.
That's what I said.
I'll get some mce and some jar sauce
and some noodles. No, no, no, Clint.
I have to send you
the spaghetti sauce and then you'll know
how to make spag bol. Oh, it's not what I was offering to do.
I was offering to open the jar and heat it up.
Yes, whip it up is what he said.
Let's
get out of here.
Let's go home. Wait a minute.
I just thank you so much
