Today we're at Jungle 8 in Elliott Stables in Auckland and it's a special occasion because it's Cam Mansell's leaving party. No! You guys are actually really excited. I'm not going to lie. How many cries have you done this week? Well, actually, I've been pretty good this week. Today's been the only cry. Really? Yeah. I've held it together pretty well, I think. Okay.

Cam does the night show after our show and you've been at zm for 13 years 13 years you've been there you've grown up at zm i literally started when i was 19 driving a black thunder cruising around the big bad streets of auckland giving away free stuff um so yeah what was that i heart radio channel that you used to do do we really it was called ultimate access that's right and it was like a fangirl radio session yeah that sounds saucy yeah ultimate access it was like at the beginning of like internet radio stuff it was very twitter

focused from memory i wasn't looking at the company back then yeah it was you were like a one-man operation pretty much yeah it was wild haven't you been through like all the eras at one point it was a snapchat show at one point it was a shish shish shish shishimi it was a shishimi show it was a shazam show it was a shiracha show shiracha show one time it was a chicago show and then it was a shih tzu show shih tzu shih tzu creek show oh we love to see it um to set the vibe we are sitting at quite a tiny table and we've got g'day mates katie what are you saying who you who you are Who am I what? What's the actual thing you'll miss most? Honestly, I'm just going to miss being able to share music every day.

That's the one thing that I have loved so much. Genuinely, music is, to me, is such a powerful thing. And being able to, I guess, help artists share their music and the message that they're trying to say has been really cool for the past seven years. So, yeah, I think that's what I'll be saying. Who's your favourite person you've ever interviewed that's not been me?

Ooh, that's a good question. Probably Callum Scott. Really? I love Callum Scott. Such a lovely dude. I was not expecting that. Really? Yeah.

Well, there's been so many. You've interviewed so many. You've interviewed Dua Lipa. You've interviewed Ed Sheeran. So many famous people. Adam Lambert. You interviewed Billie Eilish before she was Billie Eilish. Oh my god, that's right. Stomped across that photo today.

I think the thing I love about you is that it's quite refreshing to see, and Clint will probably back me up on this, that you genuinely are super passionate about music and championing people coming up in the industry. And I think as radio has developed and over time, there's less and less of those people in our industry.

And Cam, you're such a shining light. You still fly that flag for radio and that's what was super special about you and I think all the artists saw that and they love that about you so I think that's something that is going to be really really truly missed in our industry oh I love you guys and like you guys have always been like a massive inspiration to me I mean Brie I haven't known you for the longest time but like even before you were working at zm like i knew who you were and was always keeping tabs on what you're up to and stuff and it's been social media but now that we

don't work together maybe i will um but no honestly it's been such a wild time and i just look up to both of you so much and i will be supporting you from further away, it's been such a wild time and I just look up to both of you so much and I will be supporting you from further away than the girl spots next door. It's about you. It's about you. When I first started at ZM, the first survey party that I went to, and I didn't really know a lot of people then. I knew Bree and I knew Ross and we were sort of getting to know everybody else.

Cam took me aside and he said, hey, I just want you to know it's really awesome to have you here. I'm really awesome to have you here I'm really stoked that you're here and you made me feel welcome from the first day that I got here because you were kind of like old school Already because you've been here you've been here for 13 years. I've been here for six years. So I'm gonna miss you I'm gonna miss your bubbly fun personality every afternoon when I come into work I'm actually really sad that you're leaving but I'm really happy that you're going to do something new so Congrats and we'll miss you. Change can be the scariest thing that can happen for you, but change is good. It's an opportunity to grow. It's an opportunity to develop. If there's something that you've been thinking about doing,

but you're not sure whether you should just take the punt and do it, honestly, just do it. Because you will never wonder what if. And the wondering what if is the thing that's going to hold you back from all of these opportunities that you don't even know are out there. So get out there, do whatever it is you want to do, don't be shy, and figure out what that what if is. Oh, I like it.
