Remember that time yesterday we talked about the podcast and what I would love for the podcast.
What's that?
We talked 24 hours ago.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Hi everybody, welcome to the Brianne Clint Friday podcast.
Claudia has something she'd like to share. Claudia?
Hello everyone.
This short week has really thrown me off.
I forgot I had a doctor's appointment this morning.
Did you totally miss it?
No, I ended up going because they'd text me a reminder about half an hour beforehand.
What time was it?
9.45.
Okay.
And I forgot yesterday that I had a meeting with our boss.
So he moved it to today and I also barely made that.
And that's it.
Are we doing an international birthday
banger or not
oh no we're not
I feel like we're the
siblings and you're
getting told off by
mum and dad
we haven't told
anybody
I was just about to
do it because I
remembered about 30
seconds ago and then
you were like oh
let's do the podcast
I'm like oh there's
no time to save this
so I'm really sorry it's good to no time to save this so I'm really sorry
it's good to be honest
and upfront
it's good to be honest
yeah yeah
yeah I'm really sorry
it won't happen again
now come here
for a smack bottom
no thank you
from Bree obviously
oh okay
got it
I'll come in
I'll smack that bottom
scandal
quotes
hypothetically
your parents didn't
pull your pants down
to smack your bottom
did they
that's a bit kinky.
I never got smacked at all. They did.
And it shows.
My parents would go bare bum
but they wouldn't pull my pants down.
It'd just be kind of like they'd pull my pants up
and smack my bare butt.
So you got a wedgie and a butt.
Yeah, I would get bare
wax. For sure.
I'd hide the wooden spoons.
I never had the decks dropped.
I just, just over the pants.
And it never hurt.
It's just the shock of it happening.
You're like, ah!
Oh no, it hurt.
I hated it.
Really?
Yeah, my dad always hit harder.
You've got quite a tender rump though.
Yeah, quite a sensitive behind.
We'd always be scared when dad would hit though. Yeah, quite a sensitive point. We'd always be scared
when dad would hit us. Yeah.
Because he would be like, I need to make
a point here. No point
smacking a kid unless you're going to smack him hard enough.
But also your dad, like my dad,
not around as much as mum. No.
So when dad is around to give you a smack bum
you do way less naughty
things. It's like, fuck. I am
fucked. Yeah. I've talked about this a billion times, but when we got too old to be smacked, my dad
would hit us on the back of the hand.
Oh, yeah.
I'd rather on the bum.
That hurts.
Like a stack on the back of the hand.
Oh, it hurts on the back of the hand.
It's so sensitive.
Like, the back of your hand is real sensitive.
And then my mum knew when we were too old to be smacked.
And I said, when did you know?
Yeah.
And she goes, well, I knew for you that it was time to stop smacking you
because I'd hit you and then you'd look me dead in the face
and you'd be like, is that all you got?
Yeah.
What's the point of smacking me?
Harder, mummy.
Is that all?
Go on do it harder
And she'd be like
Okay I need to stop doing it
This is tough
It's enough
It does hurt
Is it
You guys right out there
BBSing
Are we smacking each other?
Is it good or bad
That we don't smack our kids anymore?
Good
Good
I think that's traumatic
Yeah good
I don't think it was traumatic
It was
Like personally
Personally
Look I'm not saying It's good to smack kids No But do I think Yeah, good. I don't think it was traumatic. It was. You guys talk about it a lot.
Look, I'm not saying it's good to smack kids.
No.
But do I think- It's very unpopular to say that.
What?
It's very unpopular to say that it's good to smack your kid.
I said it's not good.
I know, I know.
But do I think I'm traumatised from being smacked a few times as a kid?
No.
Yes.
No.
But is there smacking in?
Is there smacking?
Yes.
That's the problem.
That's the problem That's the problem
Yeah that is the problem
Like I was never
Beat
No
Neither
No
I made that really clear
Okay well
Borderline
And I think most parents
And it was totally
It was acceptable
For us
At our age
Like when we were kids
To be smacked
What does that Calvin Harris song say
It was acceptable
In the 80s.
Yeah.
Literally.
All kids got, I want to say 90% of kids would have got a few smacks.
Absolutely.
If not more.
Absolutely.
And it was acceptable in that day and age.
Yeah.
Claudia's never been smacked.
Have you never been smacked?
Nah, not.
Come in here.
No.
It sounds painful.
I reckon you should experience it.
I think so too.
And Bree should do it to like parent level.
I can't think of anything more demeaning.
I'll smack you as hard as what my mum smacked me.
If she really doesn't want to, we can't make it.
Yeah, true.
You think about it.
You think about it.
I reckon the podcast listeners would like to hear it.
They probably would too.
Why am I trying to convince Claudia to really smack her?
Is that a poll in the group therapy today?
Do you want to hear Claudia get a good spanking?
Oh, God.
As much as I would love to share that moment with you, Brie,
I think I'll give it a miss this time.
So, yeah, fair enough, fair enough. Were your parents just like forward? Spare the rod, spoil the child. Do I think I'll give it a miss this time. Fair enough. Were your parents
just like forward? Spare the rod, spoil the child.
Do you think I'm spoiled?
Do you reckon your
were your parents like forward thinking
like this is wrong?
My dad's method was
say we were acting up like a restaurant or something
He'd whip them and say
kick us in the shins.
No he would just take us outside and be like we're
gonna wait here until you're ready to behave and we would just sit there for as long as it took
and he was very patient and very good that's forward thinking parenting that's like future
that's really good we had like the naughty step in the on the stairs where you had to sit until
you were ready to come back can i say as though, fuck, that takes a lot of patience. Yeah, it would.
But I was good
because I knew the left to step.
Because when a kid is acting up,
like,
you have to really,
there's no negotiating it.
Really center yourself,
bring yourself down
and be like,
oh,
are we going to deal with this?
Yep.
And once I was old enough
to like babysit my little sisters,
I was not a gentle parent.
I didn't hit them,
but I would get so angry.
Like,
you're so annoying!
And I'd scream at them.
Frustrating. Yep. It's not your job to be a good parent to your siblings. You're not a. I'm going to scream at them. Frustrating.
It's not your job to be a good parent to your siblings.
Gentle parent siblings.
There's a great older sister who gets
angry. Legally you can smack them.
True. Your siblings. But I didn't.
Trust me. Let's be real.
Oh God, I had some bad fights
with my siblings.
My sister poured a bowl of hot cereal
on my head one time wait hot cereal
yeah so you know like if you have like hot wheat picks like you heat up the milk and my sister
literally dumped it on my head and then one time she used a cat as a weapon and she threw it at me
and i had a scratch from one the top of my face all the way down to the bottom no lie
dang i feel like me and my siblings were also quite gentle
because the worst fights we had were, like,
I got so angry at my brother for not getting angry at me.
Yeah.
I was like, let's stop him doing it.
And then, you know, it was always, like, scream and then leave.
Did you guys ever have bad physical fights,
like, when you got a bit too old to be having physical fights
with your siblings?
Yeah.
Same.
Yeah.
Like, I had a few bad ones
with my sister never with my brother also because i was the oldest so like there was a there came a
point where like i was too rough apparently what what would you do what would be your your like my
sister for example her um her kind of attack of choice was she was a pincher. Oh. Like, she pinched so bad.
Yeah, that's ruthless pinching.
I was a biter.
Oh, my God.
Fuck, yeah.
Or a hair puller.
Hair puller, yeah.
I'd pull hair.
Yeah.
Or I'd do that arm swinging thing that they did on The Simpsons.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Legit.
I'm going to be doing this with my arms,
and if you get in my way, it's your own stupid fault., and I'm just gonna kick my legs out in front of me like this
Gotta miss the old Simpsons

It's Friday then, it's Saturday, Sunday, what?
It's Friday then, it's Saturday, Sunday, what?
It's Friday then.
