I'm how to go.
Toto.
Hi guys, Bree's back.
Hi guys.
Back in the chair.
Producers are back.
The whole team's here.
We're all here.
The gang's all back together.
Let me tell you, Brie, I miss you.
I've missed you guys as well.
So much.
Don't ask me who I've missed the most.
Who did you miss the most?
I didn't know that was an option.
I've missed you all equally.
Well, maybe this gift that I got you will swing things in my
What? There's a gift?
You're so full of it.
Let me just grab the gift.
I got it.
Bree this morning.
Now there's a fight.
Claudia's got it.
Clint's chasing her around, but Claudia's getting away.
Claudia's making her way around the desk now through the door.
Can she get to me?
I'm Claudia.
Manages to get the gift to me first.
I just commentated that, guys.
Your fight.
I didn't know I did my ankle just then.
She's quick.
Sorry, what are you doing?
You have in your hand, is there a card or anything?
There's not a.
Nah.
You have in your hand a selection of books for Baby Toto.
And what each of us have done, I'm taking, saying like I'm taking the credit.
It wasn't my idea.
But we are all involved in this.
We've got you each a book from our childhood.
Yeah.
That's cute.
Do you like the wrapping paper?
I love the wrapping paper and it's wrapped.
Really nice.
There's a book.
We've each chosen a book.
I was going to say I should guess.
You know this is what I do every time one of my friends has a baby.
I buy her.
I buy the baby two of my favorite books from my childhood.
She's given so many babies the Lady Gaga autobiography.
And they love it.
Okay, so first book is Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney.
This is a Kiwi I call it.
I know this book.
I actually know this book.
You just gave it away, Ella.
We're all Kiwis.
Oh, yeah.
I did not give it away.
It's a hard cover.
Next is Dr. Seuss, green eggs and ham.
A classic.
I could have guessed who this was wrong.
I wonder who.
And the last one, the Little Yellow Digger, Treasury.
Wait, the digger's name is Treasury?
No, I think it's like all of the little digger stories.
Oh.
Yeah, right.
Special edition.
Quite a hefty book.
Bring that out maybe when he's older.
No.
Okay.
Do you do you?
Okay.
I think this one, guess how much I love you is from Ella.
Am I revealing?
Yeah.
No, you keep going, keep going.
This has thrown me because this is from Clint.
Green Eggs and Ham is from Clint.
But it could be from Claudia as well.
But I think that's from Clint, which means that Claudia's favorite book from her childhood is the Little Yellow Digger.
Which actually you know what to change.
This is from Clint.
This is from Claudia.
No.
What the thing?
You've gotten one after you've changed.
Claudia.
No.
No, you just see.
I got you the Little Yellow Digger.
Okay.
So I was right the first time with that.
Toie's favorite book.
Is it?
When she was a baby, that was her favorite book.
Because remember she was obsessed with diggers?
Yeah.
Obsessed.
Yeah, she loved them.
So it's a classic, that book.
Okay, love that.
That's very nice.
Claudia is, guess how much I love you?
Yeah, that was my favorite.
Which I just thought, you know, cold heart Claudia would never...
I was born with a heart.
I chose not to feel.
True.
Claudia prefers the sequel.
Guess how much I despise me.
You don't have to guess because I'll tell you.
Very cute, Claudia.
And then I'll are green eggs and ham.
Let's go.
I am.
You know, if it was the Lorax, then I would have known.
I was trying to find the Lorax.
I was trying to look for it, but I also love grinning for him.
The other great Dr. Seuss to give a kid is, oh, the places you'll go.
Oh, yeah, that's a goodie.
Do you guys want to know what the books are that I always give?
Yes.
The first one is Harry MacLeary.
From Donaldson's Derry.
Which I actually found out since living in New Zealand, that is from a Kiwi author.
Lily Dodd.
Which is very cool.
I always give that book.
and the other one is where the wild things are.
Oh, good one.
I'm very surprised that Harry McCleary from Donaldson's Derry
made it over to Aussie because you guys don't have dearies.
No, we don't.
Heron McCleary from the corner store?
Yeah, that's what we called them.
But as a kid, that was my all-time favorite book.
And it's so much so that I ended up getting my first dog,
which was named Scampy, which looked like Harry McClary.
Cute.
And then now I've got another one, which...
Yeah, I was going to say, Whitney's a bit of a Harry MacLeary.
She is, yeah.
Remember when they did that competition in New Zealand where they wanted to find lookalikes?
Yeah.
We were going to enter, and then some shit happened.
Yeah.
I tried to enter Whitney, and I photoshopped the color of her.
You took it real serious.
I'm sure the podcast people want to know how you're going.
That's very sweet.
Thank you guys.
What a lovely gift.
Whose idea was that?
I think mine.
Ours.
Was it yours called?
I think it was mine.
But we can share it.
Yeah.
But I got it this morning.
Oh, lovely.
Yeah.
And the wrapping paper is very cute.
Thank you.
The lady at the shop did it.
Oh, did she?
Yeah, and I picked the wrapping paper.
Oh, lovely.
Ella, I only got it because I fucking reminded her, okay?
If we're taking credit for different things in this, in this nice gift,
if we all have to take some credit for it.
So, there you go.
All of you were involved.
Oh, and a listener also was making sure I got it today.
She messaged me, Violet, going, did you go to the bookshop?
I'm funny.
I was like, I did advise.
Oh, really?
What?
Because you talked about on the podcast, I'm assuming.
Will you not let's do the podcast?
What that?
Maybe I missed that one.
The podcast's not on in the nursery.
I might have missed that one.
Can I ask a question?
Yeah.
When can we come meet Toto?
Yeah, we need to organise that.
Do we need to get any shots?
Yeah.
I haven't yet.
We'll do shots.
Yeah.
Shats.
Fireball is the preferred shot.
If you come in a visit.
That Toto's preference.
But, yeah.
No, we need to.
Toto's a wet pussy man.
Oh, true.
I thought he was a slippery nipple.
Just some inappropriate after I said it.
But if you know the joke, you know, okay?
No, I'm not.
It's a shot that Brie likes, okay?
Yeah.
Like a drink.
Like, mother like son.
Nope.
What?
Yeah.
The shot Ella, the shot.
Yeah, like mother like son.
Yeah.
He likes the same shots I like.
Yes.
Sorry.
Anyway.
No, I'm good.
I'm good.
Look, last night was.
probably the worst night we've had
which I mean...
You know why though, eh?
He knew.
He knew that you'd go back to work today.
Isn't it fucked how it works like that?
And you would have put out the pheromones
and he would have picked up on the stress hormones.
Just yeah.
And you would have been stressed and so then...
But other than that, like everything's...
So just chill out, ma'am.
Yeah.
Shut up.
Chill.
Everything's been going pretty good.
I say that as the least chill parent to ever exist.
Fuck, we were not chill.
Were you not chill?
Really?
We were not chill. really? What was your biggest thing?
Do you remember take like...
We didn't go anywhere for a long time.
It was too hard.
Sleep was so hard.
Brutal?
Yeah.
Lucy had a really hard time at the start feeding.
Oh, see, that's what makes it really hard.
Oh, did she ever have a hard time feeding?
It was hard.
It was just hard.
I remember you were blacking out windows in a room and stuff.
Oh, fuck.
We did everything.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We had the rocking wheelchair, I mean, push chair thing.
Yeah.
We had the white noise.
We had the...
What was she, too?
I remember you telling me.
She had something that made her sleep less.
Pollyac?
Nah, well, we said that she was a Velcro baby.
But then what do we know?
You just don't know what you're doing with the first baby.
You just don't know.
Do you remember how much she was sleeping?
No.
No.
You've blocked it out because it's traumatic.
Anyone who's in it, if I have any advice that I can still remember,
the things that worked were blackout and white noise.
Those are the two best things.
And they're probably the two cheapest things too.
Oh, no, blackout.
spent like two and a half grand blacking out the windows.
Did you?
You know, you do what you've got to do in those situations?
I feel, I mean, my partner's of fire, honestly, I feel like I am so, so lucky.
Because, like, she won.
Like, her job is to look after babies.
Not, like, she looks after very, very little babies.
But she's just, I mean, unbelievable.
Like, she took to feeding, I mean, although, you know, anyone who's breastfed, like, it's
difficult. It's really hard.
But she's doing such an amazing job.
But like we've taken him out.
Like we've taken him out a few times.
And like we always time it to when he's like fallen asleep.
And then we're like, sweet, we can take him because he's asleep.
You know?
And we haven't had that experience yet where you take them out and they start screaming bloody murder.
You know?
Because I feel like that would be very traumatic.
And then you stress out and leave.
But so far so good.
But it's early days.
Day by day.
There's early days.
Day by day.
And if you are in it, none of it lasts forever.
When do they start sleeping in?
When there's 16.
Oh, that seems like a fair way away.
Yeah, it'll be a while.
Yeah.
All right.
There's more chat, more of a catch-up in the other pod, so make sure you grab that.
And if you want to see the first video of Baby Twitter, it's on the brain.
Instagram page.
We were discussing today, and this is obviously just between podcast listeners.
We've got 20 seconds.
Posting some photos.
So that, I mean, that might be coming soon.
A couple of photos.
But enjoy the video for now.
But enjoy the video, which I mean you get more in the video.
