We've each chosen a book. I was going to say I should guess. You know this is what I do every time one of my friends has a baby. I buy her. I buy the baby two of my favorite books from my childhood. She's given so many babies the Lady Gaga autobiography. And they love it. Okay, so first book is Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney.

This is a Kiwi I call it. I know this book. I actually know this book. You just gave it away, Ella. We're all Kiwis. Oh, yeah. I did not give it away. It's a hard cover.

Next is Dr. Seuss, green eggs and ham. A classic. I could have guessed who this was wrong. I wonder who. And the last one, the Little Yellow Digger, Treasury. Wait, the digger's name is Treasury? No, I think it's like all of the little digger stories. Oh.

Yeah, right. Special edition. Quite a hefty book. Bring that out maybe when he's older. No. Okay. Do you do you? Okay.

I think this one, guess how much I love you is from Ella. Am I revealing? Yeah. No, you keep going, keep going. This has thrown me because this is from Clint. Green Eggs and Ham is from Clint. But it could be from Claudia as well. But I think that's from Clint, which means that Claudia's favorite book from her childhood is the Little Yellow Digger.

I was trying to look for it, but I also love grinning for him. The other great Dr. Seuss to give a kid is, oh, the places you'll go. Oh, yeah, that's a goodie.

Do you guys want to know what the books are that I always give? Yes. The first one is Harry MacLeary. From Donaldson's Derry. Which I actually found out since living in New Zealand, that is from a Kiwi author. Lily Dodd. Which is very cool. I always give that book.

and the other one is where the wild things are. Oh, good one. I'm very surprised that Harry McCleary from Donaldson's Derry made it over to Aussie because you guys don't have dearies. No, we don't. Heron McCleary from the corner store? Yeah, that's what we called them. But as a kid, that was my all-time favorite book.

And it's so much so that I ended up getting my first dog, which was named Scampy, which looked like Harry McClary. Cute. And then now I've got another one, which... Yeah, I was going to say, Whitney's a bit of a Harry MacLeary. She is, yeah. Remember when they did that competition in New Zealand where they wanted to find lookalikes? Yeah.

We were going to enter, and then some shit happened. Yeah. I tried to enter Whitney, and I photoshopped the color of her. You took it real serious. I'm sure the podcast people want to know how you're going. That's very sweet. Thank you guys. What a lovely gift.

Brutal? Yeah. Lucy had a really hard time at the start feeding. Oh, see, that's what makes it really hard. Oh, did she ever have a hard time feeding? It was hard. It was just hard. I remember you were blacking out windows in a room and stuff.

Oh, fuck. We did everything. Yeah. Yeah. We had the rocking wheelchair, I mean, push chair thing. Yeah. We had the white noise. We had the...

What was she, too? I remember you telling me. She had something that made her sleep less. Pollyac? Nah, well, we said that she was a Velcro baby. But then what do we know? You just don't know what you're doing with the first baby. You just don't know.

Do you remember how much she was sleeping? No. No. You've blocked it out because it's traumatic. Anyone who's in it, if I have any advice that I can still remember, the things that worked were blackout and white noise. Those are the two best things. And they're probably the two cheapest things too.

Oh, no, blackout. spent like two and a half grand blacking out the windows. Did you? You know, you do what you've got to do in those situations? I feel, I mean, my partner's of fire, honestly, I feel like I am so, so lucky. Because, like, she won. Like, her job is to look after babies. Not, like, she looks after very, very little babies.

But she's just, I mean, unbelievable. Like, she took to feeding, I mean, although, you know, anyone who's breastfed, like, it's difficult. It's really hard. But she's doing such an amazing job. But like we've taken him out. Like we've taken him out a few times. And like we always time it to when he's like fallen asleep. And then we're like, sweet, we can take him because he's asleep.

You know? And we haven't had that experience yet where you take them out and they start screaming bloody murder. You know? Because I feel like that would be very traumatic. And then you stress out and leave. But so far so good. But it's early days. Day by day.

There's early days. Day by day. And if you are in it, none of it lasts forever. When do they start sleeping in? When there's 16. Oh, that seems like a fair way away. Yeah, it'll be a while. Yeah.
